soap loves riding horses. he grew up in the city but his extended family had a farm and he was there ever summer. that was where he learned he isn't afraid of hard work, he has delivered foals and calves and gotten bit by chickens at the crack of dawn. he'll bitch the whole time he does morning exercises but he loves farm chores and one of his favorites is stable duty. he even likes cleaning stalls. he can ride bareback, honestly he prefers it because it gets him on a horse faster than if he has to saddle it. he's been known to back a lunch, get on his horse, and he gone for hours at a time. once it was multiple days, his uncle was worried about him but he showed up, a little hungry and in need of a shower but no worse for wear. he can calm a horse down like nothing else, apparently it's an old mctavish ability that he got if his grandmother is to be believed, his mom says it's just because the untamed horses know he's just as much trouble as they are. soap didn't know one way or the other, all he knew was that he felt the most free when he was on a horse, the wind in his hair, the whole of scotland before him.

For the day five prompt of ND Tech Week. I’m thinking it takes Tech a little while to get back home, and a little while longer to figure out who he really is. He still has some rough days, and worries in ways he didn’t before. Whatever happened to him, and whatever he did afterwards, was something he couldn’t control—and it kept him away for so much longer than he wanted. Still, every once in while it hits him how much they lost, and how much they got back, and in spite of everything he thinks he must be the luckiest man in the galaxy to have come out the other side. After all, better late than dead. As Phee always says. (Or did that one time.)

My favorite hobby is slowly bringing people in the fob fandom, so slow that in fact they don’t know it’s happening until it’s too late. Anyone else think about the beginning of Act 5 at the end of the Dormont section, why Siffrin shows up at the Clocktower so late, how it happens right after a zoneout?

That entire loop so far he was doing his damnedest to do the Friend Quests and screwing them up horribly. What if after their fight with Loop when they zoned out they went back on Friend Quest autopilot finishing the final part, going out to the field to gaze at the stars with Isabeau, the rest of the Family interrupting them with an impromptu picnic dinner, staying out late before heading back to the Clocktower to sleep for the night before heading to the House
