Hi! Thanks very much! So, this was a project I did a while back and basically... Doctor Who just moved on without me really, a little bit. I still love it a lot but I'm not as in the fandom as I was. This project was really just intended to counteract the constant "Doctor Who never passed the Bechdel test!" posts I saw back in the day.

I guess I'm sending this message in part to check that), but I wanted to say that it's absolutely fucking gorgeous. the way the beats line up with the scene cuts in the beginning is just. marvelous. magical. I love it so much

and yeah its a Thing with me that i always want to make the music and the visuals match up as much as i can and it doesnt always turn out great but when it does its sooo satisfying. i remember when i finished that part i was so happy with it i rendered it by itself and kept it on my phone and watched it like 50 times.

i watched it so much that it stopped being amazing and just became another part of the video, this is something that alwaysss happens like you get so used to the thing you made that you forget that its actually really cool so its nice when other people get excited about it and remind you that you really like it too agfjkg

Day Two of the Loveless book club with @simuran​. My main activity today was doing my laundry and mending my clothes, but I did go in the evening to the nearby America-themed restaurant for a milkshake.

I love that place. The whole aesthetic is just so horrendous.

I got to page 156.

I don’t know. I feel like, at this point, the story itself is less interesting than what it’s doing to me emotionally. I already had a school-related nightmare tonight.

I said yesterday that these kind of realistic teenage stories always remind me of how very not normal my own experience at that age was. Today, I want to add that I am actually happy that eighteen-year-old me wasn’t in an environment like the university one in the book.

Third in the row, for this fandom! Here is Stolas, as the Five of Pentacles.

I was not expecting to like that owl so much, but oh, well. Explanation for the choice of card under the cut!

Oh boy, not the funniest card. When the Five of Pentacles turns upright in your hand, you're going through a hard time. You have lost the sens of stability you used to have; it may be a lost home, a financial loss, or a broken family. However, you can already find hope in that the card only holds temporary effects: this shall pass. Apart from that fun start, you, little owl in your cage, feel isolated and alone. You feel as if you have been left in the cold; you feel like no one would bother to come help you in your time of need, like no one really care anyway. That's the trick: you're waiting for someone to come and help you (one person, really, one special imp), but really, you need to be proactive. Communicate with the people you need to to get out of the tough situation you're in. And don't let your fear of rejection stop you from reaching out and expressing your feelings.

Similarly, the Five of Pentacles suggests that you fear you don't have enough, you can't do enough, you are not enough. You're certain that because you can't provide what others (again, one specific other) need, you're going to lose what matters most to you. You have to train yourself not to fear for the worst, and hope for the best instead. Giving that crystal sure is a good first step, my friend, but make sure you communicate while doing so.

Reversed, the card indicates a end to difficult times. Rejoice! That stupid marriage is finally over! You may start to feel as if life is worth living again, which better be what happens in next episode I swear I'm out for blood there give those boys happiness. You might still feel as if something is missing or entirely out of place; on deeper reflection, you may come to realise that you have placed too much emphasis on your material wealth and have neglected your spiritual well-being. That might be how you've been raised- but not everything can be bought, and your worth is not determined solely by your social status. All you have to focus on is the thing that truly matters to you. The person, maybe. If you truly value something, the Reversed Five of Pentacles tells you you have the means to make it happen.

Favorite colors - a couple of years ago I would have said blue or black but atm I'm leaning into “every color has its merrits”. I like pink rose turning into dark purple when the night falls, but also the white clouds against a blue sky and the rich greens of nature, but also rost and wine.

Currently watching - Matrix quadrilogy. I'm not so much into shows, they do not capture my interest for long and I hate to do new things most of the time so I prefer to rewatch.

Spicy/savory/sweet - savory? Idk, depends on the mood, the food, what I had before…

Relationship status - I'm married to the bestestest, sweetest person on earth who's also a bucket of problems, but who wants it easy

I have SO MANY that I’m so extremely proud of, but. What We Live For which is my sequel trilogy Finn/Rey/Poe vid of joy and love and adventure. I’m so proud that I've become so familiar and comfortable and excited with how I make vids. Sometimes I really can make the stars align to deliver the pure essence of the vid I see in my mind. Make it come to life so perfectly. This vid is a top example of that.

God that list is endless. Right now I’m really looking forward to vidding Wheel of Time (my Nynaeve vid is gonna be amazing). I also am excited to vid Syndey from The Bear and probably will be working on that this summer since season starts at the end of June, omg. Catching up on Replies and Thank Yous

Hi guys! Man, it feels like forever since I’ve done one of these. I’ve basically spent most of 2023 applying for any job out of state or that offers remote work. The cost of living in California just keeps rising, so I’ve basically been taking the spray ‘n’ prey method to job applications. In total, I’ve sent out over 100 job apps, and I’m hoping to see some promising responses.

I can’t emphasize enough how important this blog and my followers have been to my mental health. It’s the only area of my life where I can decompress, be myself, and do something of personal value beyond the pursuit of money--- Which make the donations I have received through Ko-Fi all the more meaningful. I love you all.

In short, just wanted to say thank you to everyone who donated to my Ko-Fi this past year! Last song I listened to - Hate the Day by Behind the Scenes

Currently reading - fiction: Well, I started reading Donna Tart's Goldfinch, but honestly I haven't touched it in weeks now. I want to read it luxurously, and just haven't had the time and focus to really indulge in proper enjoyable novel experience. I've also been....not re-reading but re-perusing Angela Carter's Infernal Desire Machines of Doctor Hoffman. Angela Carter is one of those writers that I use to "warm-up" my own writing brain. When I just can't get in the flow of writing, I pick up a Carter book, open it on a random page, read that random page, and usually after that I remember how to write decent prose again.

nonfiction: Gothic theory. So much Gothic theory. Anything I can find that will fit my dissertation. Trying to speedrun reading the entire history of Gothic literary analysis this month.

Currently watching - Not anything actively. Mostly I'm just rewatching my favourite Hazbin clips on youtube.

Currently obsessed with - I'M SURE NONE OF YOU NOTICED- yeah, the Hazbin and general Vivzie's hellaverse hyperfixation isn't going away anytime soon. But hey- I'm almost 30 and waited 4 years for this show, if I don't allow myself to be gringe weirdo about this, then it's a slippery slope to becoming a respectable adult.

So, about the rest of the Loveless reading challenge with @simuran​, this time WITHOUT Loveless. I have identified three other queer books I abandoned at various points of the story, and really need a kick in the butt to actually continue/finish.

I have a feeling that I know which one you’ll pick for me to read while you finish Loveless, but any way:

Doctor Who - Plague City: At this point of the series, every single major character was queer, and also Bill being Bill, she immediately managed to find the local lesbian couple in 1645 Edinburgh. This is the thinnest book of the three, I kind of expect to be able to finish it in a day, if I am actually forced to read it.

Une Couronne d’Os et d’Épines: I got last year from a steampunk festival with the promise that the main character is bisexual (I think?), there is an asexual character, and a nonbinary one using the pronoun ieul, which still isn’t as established within the French language as it should be. Also, it’s an actual French author writing in French and the publisher is small and doesn’t work with Amazon. So with this book, I’d actually feel like I was supporting a real, existing person. So far, it’s a perfectly nice fantasy novel. Would be nice for Queer Media Monday.

Loki - Where Mischief Lies: - in French, because Reasons. Of the three, this is the one I’ve read the least of. That bit feels like it treated gender with the flexibility fanfictions do, and I know that at least here, Loki is canonically queer.

So, as I promised, @simuran​, the choice is yours, and I’ll read the other book(s) until you finish Loveless.
