The Sacrifice - Part 10

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!"

"The idol's gone, Eliza. I displaced it into Yg's core; if that doesn't melt it, nothing will. Either way, nobody's ever getting their hands on it again."

Yg...the name flashed through Eliza's reeling mind. It was an incalculably old star, a bloated red giant orbited by the lifeless husks of three nameless planets on a plane of existence so remote, fact gave way to rumor and conjecture.

None of that mattered.

Not even her disfigurement mattered, weighed against this new calamity.

Eliza could have struck Fiona dead right then and there, if she hadn't been frozen in utter terror.

The Chkrxgmbvegh, the Nameless One, also felt the shift in the planes.

It felt the inexorable pull of the abyss, as its hold on the material plane began slipping away. Already, it could smell the familiar stench of sulphur and rot and hear the cries of the damned, but the demon was furious.

It had been cheated.

"Witch! Thisss iss your fault! Your sssuffering shall be legendary, even in Hell!"

It did not specify which of the two witches it was speaking to, but Eliza Clare could sense the demon's red-hot ire even as it was pulled into a vortex of lurid un-light. That burning, vengeful anger was aimed at her.

"No, please! It wasn't my fault! SHE's the one, SHE did it!"

"I'll fix it, I swear! I'm begging you, give me another chance!"

Eliza's pleas fell on deaf ears. If the demon was listening, it didn't care; all it cared about was revenge.

She screamed as the fire ignited under her feet, engulfing her with a speed that was unnatural, unstoppable. Eliza thought she knew pain, but she was soon to be disabused of that notion.

She also knew with a certainty that did not originate within herself that this, too, would pale before future torments. Demons did not forgive.

And there was nothing she could do to change it. In a flash of insight dying minds are sometimes granted, Eliza realized that she had been hurtling towards the inferno all along, unable to feel the heat.

Maybe, once, a different outcome had been possible, but the point of no return had come and gone long ago. For the first time in decades, Eliza tasted regret, bitter as a mouthful of poison.

And then, she saw.

A stern father, a Jacoban preacher, trying to "beat the magic out of her."

A resentful mother berating her, knowing she could never, ever be good enough.

Herself as a young woman, vowing she would never be made to feel powerless again, no matter the cost. Sentiment was a weakness to be exploited, which she would cut out of herself as one would an infection.

Her son in her arms, her resolve weakening. It did not break.

Her son...

Then, Eliza saw no more.

"Wh- What happened? Where'd that thing go? Uuughh, I feel like I was hit by a goddamn truck!"

"Banished back to its home dimension. It sounded none too pleased about it, which means a certain blonde witch is being shown the hospitality of the Hellplanes as we speak."

"The fire...shit, are those ashes...?"

"Yep. Didn't leave much behind, did she?"

"Fucking hell - Roman!"

"He's fine. Luckily, the demon only took Eliza."

"Luckily? Sounds like you weren't sure what would happen."

"Well, I wasn't, exactly. I made an educated guess that it would see Eliza as the bigger prize. She'd sold her soul to that thing years ago - Roman was an advance payment on that debt, but it was never going to be enough. The Nameless One was toying with her; it would've demanded more and more, until she could no longer pay."

"Uhuh. And what if it had decided to take both of them?"

"That was a possibility, but I figured it only had enough power left to take one or the other."

"You gamble an awful lot with people's lives, Fiona."

"Considering the alternative was that we all died, I like to think it wasn't unreasonable."

"Fair, I guess. I'm okay too, by the way. Fuck, this bite burns like a motherfucker though! Is demon spit toxic?"

"Jacob...?"

"I'm here. Everything's going to be okay!"

"Where is -"

"It's gone. Fiona banished it; I think. You're safe now."

"And my...mother?"

Jacob pursed his lips; giving that woman the title of "mother" felt like a travesty.

"She's gone too."

"You...How did you know...?"

"It's a long story. I'll tell you all the details later, but right now we need to get you to a hospital. How...how are you feeling?"

"Hurts. But - Jacob..."

"Shhhhh."

"Thank you..."

Unseen and Scrapped Content in The Sims 2: Castaway Stories

You might be surprised to learn just how much content was cut or left unfinished during the development of The Sims 2: Castaway Stories—and even The Sims 2 in general.

- One of the most intriguing discoveries is the "Costume Trunk," which would have allowed your Sims to dress up in various costumes, from cowboys to mobsters and musketeers. There was even supposed to be an "Acting Costume Trunk" with unique interactions like "Brandish Sword" for the musketeer costume. Imagine the gameplay potential!

- Another scrapped feature was a variety of social clubs. While Fraternities and Sororities made it into the game, there were plans for clubs like a Secret Society, a Robo-Battle Club, a Drama Club, and even a Gaming Club! These would have brought a whole new layer of social dynamics to the game.

- Behind the scenes, test objects like the "Facial Animation Player" and "Memory Manager" were used by developers to debug and refine Sim behaviors, emotions, and relationships.

- One particularly interesting cut feature is the "Tabletop RPG" object, where Sims would roleplay as Mages, Warriors, and Thieves in a Dungeons & Dragons-style game. How cool would that have been?

All these unused objects and ideas show just how much *he Sims 2 evolved during development. They give us a glimpse into what could have been and reveal the rich, creative process behind one of the most iconic simulation games of all time.

The Armont family. First generation. Week Two

Morlanthia's conservative authorities had long ago enacted a law requiring city officials to put homeless teenagers and widows/widowers with children into mixed housing until the men settled down in life, the women remarried, and the single children grew up. Optimists called this place a community, pessimists a colony, but one thing was clear: no one was going to be nice to loners who could, at least in theory, light the fires of rebellion.

Pregnant Eva and her two daughters were moved into one of these houses. Bianca was still living there, waiting to come of age, and she began to help Eva with the children. Together they persuaded the soldiers to equip the nursery, put new beds, fix the broken plumbing, and they lived peacefully and quietly.

With Bianca they knew each other from their work at the scientific institute, which made communication more lively and cheerful.

Julia's sixth birthday crept up imperceptibly in such an atmosphere, and soon she was to go to school and learn that her father was a criminal, her mother was a psychopath, and all those who had come to Morlantia voluntarily were potential enemies of the Morlantian people who could not be let out of the country.

- Mom, is school going to be fun? - she asked Eva.

She pretended not to hear the question.

- Very fun, honey,” Bianca said, helping her friend out. - It's hilarious. You'll laugh till you cry at every recess.

She added, before the girl could hear the poisonous sarcasm:

- Let's go and read a book about a bear.

And after reading, Bianca skillfully curled the child's brown hair with wavy strands.

She made a married family with two kids and everything was fine and fun... so this drama queen of a freind was bored so,she made the wife cheat (eventhought she did nto want to cheat) and the social worker took the babies due to child neglect...

when I tell you my bestie was traumatized with her own doing,she did not expect the sim to show emotion and grief

she turned to me and asked me : gloria why did you let me do it??,why?

I just sat there like:

Girl what the heck do you want me to do? it yo choice!

OH and I forgot to add,since the father loved the wife and kid ,everytime he would do any action,he would sart crying all the damn time and my freind started begging me with tears to fix her MESSS!!

🖥️ How to extract Lua scripts from ObjectScripts.package - A step-by-step guide

The Sims: Castaway Stories and later expansion and stuff packs from base game, for example M&G, contains script code written in the Lua programming language. Here's how to access it:
