The following morning, it was business at usual at the Donnellys' grocery store. Since it was the weekend, Hannah accompanied her dad to help out with chores.
Samuel: "I'm very proud of you, you know."
Hannah: "Um, thanks, Dad."
Samuel: "I mean it. The way you've been juggling school and your magical training, not to mention helping me out at the store? You're a good kid, Hannah. Oh, what am I saying? You're not a kid anymore, and I'm going to miss you when you go to college."
Hannah: "Dad, c'mon, we have phones and computers and besides, I'll be back for holidays and stuff."
Suddenly, Hannah felt a little guilty over what she and Rowan had done.
Tumblr media
Then customers began arriving, and they had no more time to talk.
Tumblr media
Among them was a striking blonde neither of them had seen before. They would've remembered if they had; she was the sort of woman one didn't soon forget.
Eliza *thinking*: "He is rather cute, in a shy, bumbling sort of way. Pity the state of this store suggests he isn't exactly swimming in simloeons."
Tumblr media
Eliza: "Excuse me, dear, but do you happen to sell any Al Simaharan marinade spices?"
Hannah: "Um, I'm not sure...We're still waiting on a few deliveries, but I could ask my dad - "
Eliza: "Oh, don't trouble yourself, I'm happy to ask him myself."
Eliza felt the tell-tale tingle of a magical aura surrounding the girl, and knew she was talking to a fellow witch.
Interesting...
Tumblr media
Eliza: "Hello there, my name is Eliza. Eliza Clare. I understand you are the owner of this fine store?"
Samuel put on his best salesman's smile, keeping his gaze firmly away from the woman's impressive cleavage which threatened to spill out of her low-cut top.
Samuel: "Samuel Donnelly, at your service. Is there something I can help you with, Ms Clare?"
Eliza: "Oh, I certainly hope so!"

spooky tuesday is a (now not so new!) podcast where we’re breaking down all of our favorite slashers, thrillers, monster movies and black comedies on the new scariest day of the week.
brr, it's cold in here, spookies! and you know what that means: there simply MUST be some toros in the atmosphere. it's time for another fifth tuesday bonus episode here at spooky tuesday, and we're tumbling head-first into the summer slumber party vibes. break out your pom-poms and warm up your spirit fingers, because this week we're bringing it with bring it on (2020). an endlessly-quotable kirsten dunst classic that inspired about a billion bisexual crises and made toothbrushing sexy, this is one of the most iconic flicks of the early aughts — and it also features mega-babes eliza dushku and gabrielle union. what else could you possibly want?
give spooky tuesday a listen on apple podcasts, spotify, iheart radio, or stitcher

Did you know rather than turning evil Faith and Glory just became cheerleaders? 🤣
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But in all seriousness, the first Bring it On movie was just as enjoyable as when I rewatched it back in 2021 and DEFINTELY JUST AS MEMORABLE as it was when I first saw it back in 2006!
On to Bring it On Again tomorrow!
Tumblr media
And it starts one of my favorite Hallmark actresses Bethany Joy Lenz to boot! 😁

Based on the Jane Austen ask, which of the major characters (Artemisia, Ambrose, Felix, Hyder, Harry, Mariah, Amity, Jacob, etc.) are readers? And who would be their favourite authors and/or books?
Ooh lovely question! I had to have a proper think about this, and of course it's all hypothetical ahah. Artemisia and Ambrose are difficult because they'll be different people based on the choices you make in-game, but as mentioned, Arty totally fits the brief for an Austen reader of her period. Along those lines, I think she'd also be very interested by the novels of Frances Burney, and perhaps on her more adventurous days, something a little more out-there like Ann Radcliffe or Walter Scott (simply as their appeal was so wide - The Phantom of Castle Glenochrie was meant to parody this sort of literature!). Ambrose I can see very much enjoying Mackenzie's Man of Feeling, and sentimental/Romantic forerunners in the form of Laurence Sterne and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Keats wasn't particularly well-read in his own time, but I think Ambrose would be a fan :)
Speaking of poetry, Mariah is singled out as not being a novel reader. I think first-generation Romantics along the lines of Charlotte Turner Smith, William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge would really appeal to her. I can see Felix, the firebrand that he is, having perhaps the most radical tastes of all - Byron and Shelley (again, the latter wasn't really a big hit in his time) for sure, but perhaps also more nakedly political writers such as John Thelwall and Thomas Paine. Hyder is far more establishment-leaning and would tend towards eighteenth-century Augustan works - Thomas Gray, Samuel Johnson, and perhaps Pope, but on his less vulgar days - I'm thinking Iliad rather than Dunciad. On the whole I think he'd be much more interested in some non-fiction such as Edward Gibbon or David Hume.
Harry strikes me as a very well-read individual - as mentioned, I think he wouldn't be opposed to Austen in the least, but certainly would get involved with metropolitan journalism and criticism. William Hazlitt, Charles Lamb, and The Spectator would also be very up his street. He also favours the abolition of slavery and so the likes of William Cowper and Thomas Clarkson might appeal to him. Amity, we know, is a big reader, and I think she would love almost any form of travel literature, especially of the more salacious sort. The Chickwell book she reads is based on Lady Mary Wortley Montagu's travels in the Ottoman Empire, and likewise other books regarding female travel and mobility (Germaine de Stael, Aphra Behn, or Eliza Haywood perhaps) would also entertain her. Jacob however is more practical than intellectual. Poetry with a rural/natural theme - perhaps Thompson's Seasons, or the works of labouring-class writers like Robbie Burns, John Clare, or Stephen Duck, might appeal to his sensibilities.
I almost wish you'd waited a little longer to send this, as in my opinion, some of the characters with the most interesting tastes are yet to come :)

if we're gonna get an I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel (OMG yes) then PLEASE can we get a Bring It On sequel?? i am on my knees begging......
(my rough outline below the cut)
as hinted at in the DVD extra Torrance and Isis both end up at UC Berkeley on the same squad and Cliff is dating Torrance. ig Cliff is also at Berkeley but that really doesn't matter this movie isn't about him. Missy is rich and is doing a gap year so she is traveling elsewhere. (i know Cliff is rich too but who cares) fast forward to present day, roughly
the movie should focus on Isis actually (and if the remaining Blaque members want to participate, them too) to make up for the imbalance of the original BIO. the movie can introduce a new younger cast and have them look like the Clovers and not the Toros. (meaning Blacker and browner)
if you fudge the dates a bit perhaps the younger cast can be like Isis's kid and throw in Torrance's kid as well. (your choice if Cliff is the dad, if they are still together, etc)
so the original (older) cast is there but not the focus. they have some good scenes but the new cast is running the movie.
for the original cast: we need a few Missy scenes of course. And Clare and Whitney and Darcy and some of the others. Les and Jan definitely need a cameo. Les should be married to some guy.
option A: Missy and Torrance are actually together and raising the kid(s). this is OK but I prefer...
option B: Missy (Eliza) and a Buffy-esque new character (SMG) are a couple. it's no big deal and we don't get much back story, but it's an AU Fuffy.
if you abandon the "introduce a new younger cast" route then have it be like a high school reunion vibe, although of course Torrance and Isis would attend different reunions. if you want to get really angsty maybe have Torrance realize Missy is the one who got away but i wouldn't want that to interfere with the Fuffy. i think the reunion plot could maintain the great original BIO vibe, but the angsty plot could not.
