Back Porch: And now we move onto the first of the straight-up new additions to the house, the back porch! AKA the reason why I had to scoot the greenhouse back slightly, so it wasn’t weirdly narrow. XD I put this in largely to just have a spot to store the really nice grill that Father Winter gave Victor for Winterfest, and have a proper outdoor eating space. Complete with nice red counters with fun grill-related clutter, and a colorful and fun umbrella table with matching chairs. :) Plus a rug and the two chess-themed lights in red and white because, well, why not? I thought Alice would like them. :)

Upstairs Landing: @somecreativecc‘s displays strike again! Specifically, I’ve got their fossil shelves for the gang’s fossil collection now. I also rearranged some shelving and put Alice’s metal collection on the two white shelves that once held the crystal collection in the seance room, by her and Victor’s door. There’s also a new side table outside their room from Cottage Living for their “special flower” collection (including the sunflowers unlock from Alice’s job and the single red rose from one of their dates).

Valice Bedroom: Just a little bit of furniture upgrading in here -- they now have a very nice new dresser (from the Princess Cordelia collection, if I recall correctly), and a proper little side table to put their sacred candles on so they’re not just sitting on the floor at the foot of the bed. It’s kind of hard to see in these pictures, but I also put the nicest no-unlock-needed camera in the game on their desk for Alice to pick up later -- happy belated Winterfest, girl!

Seance Room: A lot of display updates -- I added in the sideboard table from Paranormal Stuff under its matching shelf to properly display Smiler’s Specter Sip and Soul Scrap objects, and I turned the Tetris-style shelves that come with Cepzid With Hakrabr’s Arcade Room Stuff fan-pack into crystal storage, since the crystal collection fit well within them. :) I also added in a knitting basket because, well, the swatch with the white knitted rabbit makes it look a little bit like Alice’s beloved toy rabbit from the games. :) We’ll see if any of my Sims actually take up knitting!

But hey -- wasn’t Smiler’s frog collection in those Tetris shelves in the crafting barn before, I hear you ask? What happened to them? Fear not, because do you see that new ladder on the outside of the seance room? That in fact leads...

Attic Space: To the new third floor “attic!” :D Remember how I said in the first post that I wanted to clean out the household inventory? Welp, this was my solution -- to add a small third floor to the house to serve as an attic storeroom! However, when I actually made the room and put the ladder in and started arranging the various decorations from the inventory, I quickly realized that the space was big enough to accommodate TWO rooms. And so we got the following:

The Storeroom -- my originally-planned room, which holds basically all the stuff that was cluttering up their household inventory -- all the Winterfest and Spookfest decorations and activities, plus Smiler’s keg for keggers. I also moved Alice’s art clutter from the barn into here, and put in a couple more Eco Lifestyle boxes to hold more personal-inventory clutter -- namely Victor and Alice’s leftover jungle gear from their Selvadorada vacation, and all the fireworks the gang picked up from the Humor & Hijinks festival! I really like it, especially with the more “unfinished” flooring and walls I chose -- it feels like a proper upstairs storage space!

The Rec Room -- the addition when I realized I didn’t need all that space for the decorations, this is currently kind of a grab-bag room for items that don’t fit elsewhere in the house. Namely, it contains the bubble blower (since it seems better suited for this more private hanging-out space); Smiler’s microphone from the Humor & Hijinks festival (with an added new couch and a side table); and Smiler’s frog collection, now displayed on @somecreativecc‘s frog shelves! I really love how everything is labeled so you can nicely organize them. :D And as you can see, they’re pretty far into their collection! I should have them try to complete it. . .

Outside & Facade: And we end the new house tour with a quick look at the new pet obstacle course in the front yard -- I rearranged the old obstacles to have a more coherent order, and added a new ramp just for funsies. Now it’s supposed to go poles --> curved tube --> first hoop --> second hoop --> ramp --> platform. We’ll see how it ACTUALLY works when someone gets one of the pets to run it again. XD And, of course, we have a wide shot of the house itself!

The MUCH MORE COLORFUL house itself, as the game (which was previously trying to delete shit when I recolored the walls) FINALLY let me repaint the dull white outside to be a different color. I have made the first floor blue, the second floor yellow, and the third floor and roof sections green. :D This makes me very happy.

And with that, we are good to go with another PROPER Chill Valicer Save update! Next week -- everyone getting used to the new digs, and a trip to the Magic Realm! See you then!

Wallpaper Converted From: Animal Crossing: New Horizons for The Sims 2 and The Sims 3

Today we celebrate the 4th anniversary of Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Oh, and my 4th anniversary of being on tumblr! This set includes over 300 wallpapers for The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. I will most likely do a Sims 4 version in the future, as that game would require me to create 2 more textures per wallpaper, because it has 3 wall heights, so I'll need more time to make them. In the meantime, SimderTalia has converted some wallpapers to The Sims 4 already, so you could grab those! I will list some of them below. Please let me know if you run into any issues.

All the items you'll need to recreate the Airport from ACNH, Dodo Airlines, in your TS4 game. Most items came with only 1 swatch each. Some items I have added extra swatches for. *The Monstera Plant that goes inside the airport has already been made in part 2 of the Paradise Planning set. Everything is always posted with the option of pick & choose, so they are easy to find and one-click download.

The floor for the interior is 12 swatches, like a puzzle, can be put together for any room size.

I do not use DX11 with my game. If you are using DX11, run the DX11 batch fix with Sims 4 Studio before starting your game. For those that have never done it, do not fear for it is very simple and will update any CC in your mods folder that needed it. I know the new DX11 API causes issues having something to do with the walls build items, that I know of. If you do not have Sims 4 Studio, here is a link about how to install it from their official website. (And of course, if you need help please send me a message).

Spanish-Style Mansion | Sims 2 Lot Download

This stunning Spanish-style mansion is the perfect multi-generational home for your sims that crave that sea-side lifestyle.

Take in the sunshine from the balcony, or pool, and enjoy curling up with a good book in any of the luxurious living-spaces.

It features 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, but the upstairs library could easily be combined with the sitting room downstairs and be turned into a 4th bedroom.

Isn’t this secluded balcony so pretty? It’s perfect for taking in seaside views, or relaxing after a busy day of work.

Here’s a view of the back of the home, surrounded by a privacy fence. You can also see hints of the flower gardens here. 

To the side of the house is a pool and outdoor dining area.

This home was built with the goal of enjoying the fresh air and beauty of nature as much as possible!

Here’s a close-up of the dining area. I can just imagine peaceful dinners out here at sunset. Sky-boxes and skylines really add to the ambience of the game. I use skies from iCad, and skylines from GreatCheeseCakePersona.

Are you ready to go inside? I’ve done some light decorating throughout, but kept it somewhat generic to allow you to customize it to your sim families tastes.

Here’s a top-down look at the floor-plan for the first and second floors. The arched “bell-tower” is directly above the Master Bathroom. It is not accessible, unless you want to do some remodeling.

New Official Survey Brings New The Sims 4 Kits Concepts

EA has sent out a new survey asking The Sims 4 players about potential concepts for upcoming kits.

As with previous surveys, like the recent one about expansion packs, the ideas presented are simply concepts that may or may not ever come to fruition. Calcinidae Bay Lot Tour: Marine Discovery Centre

I finally got around to picking the terrains I wanted to use for Calcinidae Bay's subhoods, so the Bay now officially has a(n as-of-yet unnamed) Downtown! Yay! Let's take a look through the only currently-finished lot there, the Marine Discovery Centre and Aquarium.

First I wanna shout out @dirtfauna for suggesting I build an aquarium and getting me thinking about this in the first place! As I was putting on the finishing touches I was also inspired by seeing @lolabythebaysims's gorgeous lot influenced by the Belle Isle Aquarium.

Before I get into the lot, I need to show the original Sims 4 shell for reference. It's "what the.. shell?" uploaded to the Gallery by simbellaz, and as you'll see, it was both perfect for and wildly impractical as the basis for an aquarium.

I don't normally go for shell challenges that have so many internal walls, but all those little 1-tile-wide hallways were practically SCREAMING to be made into fish tanks! The external "walls" you see added to my TS2 shell are all either actually half-walls, fences, or just windows placed with moveobjects, all of which are allowed within a standard shell challenge. It may seem like a cop-out, but it's more limiting/challenging than you'd think.

But enough preamble. Let's take a look inside!

The entrance is also a small gift shop. It seems like every aquarium I've ever been to has also sold jewellery. Don't ask me about my tiny penguin earrings.

I really wanted a "fish tank tunnel" vibe, and the effect was... almost perfect, lol. Close enough for a shell challenge IMO. I so so badly wanted to break my CC-free rule to place some fish shaders, but I'm glad I stuck to my guns because I think the solution I came up with looks goofy but effective. (Plus you wouldn't see them in build/buy anyway.)

I have my fun.

That little "airlock" room is a fun pirate-y undersea exhibit that connects to the outside and is probably where school field trips would loop around rather than heading upstairs.

Through the pirate's cabin is a touch pool and tactile play room where kids can inspect rubber anatomical fish models. I like to imagine the TV plays a short looping movie featuring a B-grade celebrity talking to a cartoon bass about the water cycle, fish spawn, and pollution.

The outdoor area is where the field trip groups would probably eat their packed lunches, fill out activity sheets, and take a commemorative photo with the world's worst greenscreen that's supposed to make it look like you're underwater but just ends up eating half your hair and shirt.

If you're not a student and you're just here for the love of fish, you'd probably head upstairs to get a closer look at the fish tunnel, smaller specialty tanks, and the squid/octopus models. (This room is technically considered outdoors thanks to the shell so tbh I'm not sure how lighting/temperature would behave during gameplay.)

The third floor has more tanks, some hands-on displays about aquatic plants and marine ecology, and finally a room with the actual floor-to-ceiling aquarium objects.

I thought this would be an interesting lot to run as an owned business, so I included a small employee area tucked behind the guest toilet block on the ground floor. It also helped to naturalistically answer "how would Sims feed themselves if their outing wouldn't stop complaining they were hungry," a concern I keep in mind whenever I make a lot I think would be a nice place to take a date.

And here's the floorplan! This lot had a pretty severe ugly stage but I'm really really happy with what we ended up with and the vibe I achieved without any CC. Hope you enjoyed reading this far and that it could give you some decorating inspiration!

24 25 Favourite Screenshots of 2024 (Part Two)

It was so hard to narrow down my favourite shots, I had to do this twice!

Starting off round two, Conrad took a magic subway to Glimmerbrook (1) and got there in time for a perfect sunset, and then (2) he met his first ghosts on Casters Alley! (Well, his second few ghosts, since he'd already met Ben but didn't know Ben was a ghost yet.)

(3) Heather coming home at the perfect time to spot a woman who became a major problem but is finally in handcuffs!!

(4) Heather chats with her family while Ash blows super hard to reach his birthday candles.

(5) Child Ash playing in a pile of autumn leaves in the front yard.

(6) The grey apartment building where Conrad grew up as seen from the above-ground subway track running through San Myshuno's Spice District.

(7) Conrad finds a boxing gym to channel his anger after his mother's death, where he meets a pretty redhead - his first love, Ximena - punching a nearby bag.

(8) Lavender was even adorable as a newborn object. I can't explain it just look.

(9) Posing with Reaper Rewards swag for fun to make Lavender's infant debut on Halloween, and I love this photo so much.

I added the painting of Lady Mimsy in the Garden to the Deadgrass Isle Historical Museum because I want to stare at it until it turns spooky like I read about online.

(10) Conrad takes the stand at John Brindleton's bench trial in front Heather and a room full of deco sims.

(11) Conrad and Heather being so wholesome after she just shouted down George Brindleton for threatening her kids outside the courthouse.

(16) I love this shot of the Goth mansion in Brindleton Bay from outside their front gate. With the snow and the moon it still gives me Gothic vibes even though the house is nothing like their original lot in Willow Creek.

Because I knew the legacy would move to Brindleton Bay in Gen 2, I wanted them living there, so when I added them to the save back when Mortimer and Bella were still married in Gen 1, I gave them the mansion and Bella's lived happily here ever since!

(17) Ghost Conrad smiles as he contemplates possessing the Goths' grand piano after drinking a Spectral Spritzer mixed for him by Bella.

(18) Infant Lavender smiles proudly when she learns to grab her toes.

(19) After finally coming clean about his past, Heather and Conrad talk things out on a bench near her childhood home in Henford-on-Bagley.

(20) The first family photo I ever posed in game and it's so cute, I framed it a bunch of times!

(21) Conrad gets down on one knee to give Heather a ring on Winterfest Eve, after their unceremonious engagement when Heather was in labour with Lavender.

(22) Can't get enough of those cc jammies, or this perfect candid shot of Heather walking in to find her son passed out above the covers, Conrad getting sleepy, and Queen Cupcake curled up and sleeping at his feet.

(23) Infant Lavender in her unicorn onesie getting a nuzzle from Gord while she pets him.

(24) Conrad and Gord meet ghost dog Captain Whitaker on a snowy Deadgrass Isle. I was so happy to find him and get this arc started and then the game updated and made him a living dog before I could resurrect him! (Not to worry, the plan is still in place because the Gallery saves!)

Building an Haitian-inspired save (cc-free, based in Sulani)

working on this side project has been sooo healing for me. as an haitian descendant, it's one of my dream to get my land back. but due to political/social issues, my family and I can't. lately, I've been very nostalgic of my island ; and because I can't go there, I planned to recreate some of my memories in the Sims instead.

i've started with the starters. this lot is for low-income residential rentals, called 'Villa Tripotay' ("Tripotay" in creole haitian means tattletale/gossips. So, if someone call you a tripotay, gurl, you are in trouble! Also, tripotay is both a noun and a verb). as for the sims created for this lot, i think about a looot of drama ;) i plan 4 small furnished houses (pink, blue, yellow and green). as so few people know and understand haitian culture, I plan to create sims and furnish all lots so you can have a glance on how people really live. keep in mind that Haiti is very different than what you can see on documentaries/news and despite its very bad reputation, this island is pure gold.

what i love about haitian architecture, its the diversity and the very unique and colorful materials. each house has its own palette ; also, we have a lot of fences varieties.

each porch area are dedicated to receiving visitors, so they are usually very well maintained. sometimes, you also have some game tables (like yellow house) or gardening. nature is a veryyy important part of haitian culture : most people tend to have fruits/vegetables or a shared garden somewhere (so yeah, its very rare in haiti to lack food in most area...). in this lot, the resident have their own corner, but I also plan to make common garden elsewhere.

i've put these 4 houses on each corner of the lot and the center is only a walking area we call "la kou" which is a place where people usually gather.

as for the interior, i've tried my best to recreate the vibe. i often share the pics with my sister to have her approval. so far, she says its very much look like it! if there's some haitian simmers out there, please, tell me what you think.

some rooms have curtains and the ones coming with the lovestruck EP are exaaactly the ones I'm looking for! on these lots, I've also added some cracks on the walls as the island is often subject to earthquakes and other natural disasters. but you know, haitian being so spiritual, they can overcome anything and, unfortunately, get use to it since birth.

as they're low income houses, they don't have much.. but Haiti being Haiti, the island of all paradox, be prepared for the luxurious homes too! there's plenty on the island, with amazing views. i think next lot will be a church as in Haiti our motto is "lekol, legliz, lakay" meaning "school, church, home" - pillar of the haitian mindset and values.

Annie's a pro at renovating by now, but without several tens of thousands of dollars, the project is slow going. She has some stain left over from dyeing the wood in her bedroom blue, and she is thinking of what else she might be able to make blue with it. We have the makings of a properly comfortable small family home starting to take form. At least in Annie's mind...
