My ROS for Alicel

Want to prefice this by saying that I did not create nearly anything on this list. It is heavily adapted from Vllygrl's Medieval ROS here, as well as JadeElliot's available here, and some from here by eien_herrison. I wanted to put it here for reference and if someone else wanted some ideas on how to adapt this for a more Victorian/western setting! I am using this from Y1 W4 (Winter) on.

1. Financial

Win small inheritance from dear departed relative 

Add to funds: (d100 x 10)

Win medium inheritance from dear departed relative 

Add to funds: (d100 x 100)

Win large inheritance from dear departed relative.  

Add to funds: (d100 x 1000)

For he’s a Jolly Goode Fellowe – Add to funds: every household gives you $100.

Cattle Rustlers invade your holdings – roll 1d6 for your each of livestock. If even delete the livestock, it has been stolen.

Barn repairs – deduct from funds (d100 x 10).  Place cart in inventory until paid.  

2. Family

Share the love – adopt a child.

Blood is thicker than water – distant impoverished relative moves in.  Make a new Sim in CAS and move in to household.  Make new Sim a relative using Sim Blender.  New relative must work caring for the family, family farm or family business, but may not take an outside job or in any way contribute to the family income.

Are Ye Daft? Wedding – Pick a Sim in the household who is not married already and have he or she invite over the Sim they know with highest LT relationship, and marry on the spot.  Reroll if no single Sims in the household.  Use Sim Blender and ACR to enact scenario.

Broken Betrothal – an engaged Sim in the household gets dumped by the fiancé. 

Run away–Sim abandons family permanently. if this is rolled for a teen then they must run-away. 

Meet Someone New – pick someone the Sim has not yet met or make a new Sim in CAS. Begin an affair. 

3. Family  2

Indecent Proposal– oldest unmarried Sim is offered position of mistress by highest LT relationship Sim they knows – they loses 100 Aspiration Points if they accepts and must immediately leave their household in shame.  They gains 100 asp points if they refuse and the offering Sim must pay $100 to their family as apology.  If they accepts, they moves into a house provided by the offering Sim and must allow them exclusive rights to visit and woohoo anytime they chose, thereby losing their social standing and becoming “beyond the pale”, i.e. no longer socially acceptable. -Accepts (Roll an even number) -Refuses (Roll and odd number)

Mid-life Crisis– Oldest sim in the household offers position of affair to the Sim they knows with the highest Lt Relationship who is not living in his household.  They gains 100 Aspiration Points if they accept, or loses 100 Aspiration Points if they refuses.  If they accepts, they must buy, furnish and pay the bills on a house which the sim moves into and where they can visit and woohoo with them anytime he chooses as long as they is discreet (i.e. if they are later seen by their fiancé or wife in public (a community lot) with their mistress they must say good-bye and deed their the house). -Accepts (Roll an even number) -Refuses (Roll an odd number)

Ruination – an unmarried female Sim who is impregnated out of wedlock.  Once the first “bump” appears, she is discovered and must immediately marry either the father or another male Sim she knows with the highest LT relationship and move in with her new husband, or she must move to the convent.

Reunion- invite entire extended family to your lot for a party

The Buccaneers- 4 sims move to the settlement to find spouses. they must be married by the end of the season 

Relationship Strain- Pick 1d6 fights with the sim you have the highest LT score with 

4. Disease/Illness

Broken Limb – Sim must stay at home with free will off for 2 days, use Boblishman’s cast mesh.

Pneumonia – use Sim Blender to infect Sim, and then Sim is isolated in bedroom with free will off for 2 days.

Dysentery (flu) – use Sim Blender to infect Sim, and then Sim is isolated in bedroom with free will off for 2 days.

Food Poisoning– use Sim Blender to infect Sim, and then Sim is isolated in bedroom with free will off for 2 days.

Livestock Illness- 1d6/2 of your livestock fall ill. roll 1d6 (evens/odds) to see if they survive 

Lethargy– god everything is just so much. your sim can't seem to get out of bed. 

5. Disaster

Fire – place (d12) intense fires on lot.  Use Carrigon’s Intense Fire Hack and Sir Ignitus Blowtorch’s Buyable Fire.  Whoosh! Big flames!

Flood – place at least 10 sinks in locked room and break them.  Do not allow them to be fixed for 24 hours.  All rugs and furniture that touch the floor must be replaced.  Sell sinks back after flooding is done. Use Boolprop (shift-click on the object) to break it.

Terrible Tempest – house is demolished.  Sim must call taxi and move out with all household members immediately.  In neighborhood view use the lots bin bulldozer tool to demolish the lot.  Then either put down an EMPTY lot in the same place and move the household in to rebuild, or move Sims into another house if they can afford it.  May save (d6) items in inventory.  Add to funds (d100) x 100 as a Crown Charity Grant for rebuilding.

Horse Accident – Sim loses their horse and spends (d4) days nursing his/her injury isolated in bedroom with free will off.

RATS! – place 1d20 sun & moon vermins on lot

Crop Failure – early frost wipes out entire vegetable or fruit crop.

Wrongly Jailed – (d4) for # of days spent in jail.  Put Sim in your local jail.

Called Away – 1d6 male sims move to the sim bin for 1d12 days to handle business in Town. Continue your normal rotations; sadly your families will have to do without your breadwinner’s wages until peace is restored.  Roll to see if each Sim will or will not return: -Dead (Roll 1 or 4 on a 6-sided die) -An elder (Roll 2 or 5 on a 6-sided die) -with a Child from another mother (Roll 3 or 6 on a 6-sided die.)

6. Death Use Sim Blender, and roll (d12) to determine cause of death:

7. Miscellaneous

Crime Does Pay – Sim must spend all his or her free time (when not tending to needs or at work) counterfeiting coins for (d6) days.  If caught, Sim must go to jail for (d4) days.

Elude Detection (Roll an odd number)

Master Herbalist Diploma – Sim must attain Gold Gardening Badge, Physiology and Lifelong Happiness.  Receive (d100) x 10 Aspiration Points and $1000 Award from Crown Treasury.

Creature of the night: Somehow your sim has become infected with vampirism. Not allowed to cure for two rotations. 

Running with the pack: Somehow your sim has become infected with Lycanthropy. Not allowed to cure for two rotations

Sim receives (d100) x 10 Aspiration Points.  Roll to determine if Sim: -Stays in convent or monastery and takes orders (Roll an even number) -Returns home (Roll an odd number)

What if I made a program that just randomize sims at the click of a button.

Inspired by this random sim generator in simscord.

Also inspired by dreadpirate's townie randomizer I reuploaded a while ago.

Maybe it could have weighted options and extra occult options (like midge's mermaid and fairy). All toggleable of course.

Idk if there is much of an interest for this type of thing, but if there is, give me some ideas for more features :)

Hi, could you share which ROS events you use please 😀

I know I'd shared these a couple times before, but I scrolled back a bit and it's definitely changed a lot since the last time, which was August 2022! Back then I had 48 on the list, now it's up to 70.

Putting more info and the full list behind a cut to save your dash!

I just keep all my gameplay notes and stuff on my ipad, easiest for me. I don't use an ROS program or anything so there's no weighting, no major or minor scenarios etc. I just use Siri or random.org to pick a number.

The scenarios are a mix of other people's lists I've found, plus ones I've made up myself. It's pretty nice to my Sims so there aren't any death or divorce ones or anything lol. I've removed some I used to use as my gameplay has evolved, if they no longer fit.

Day out - all eligible Sims go to a community lot

Movie night - invite friends over for a movie and snacks

Picnic - make food and go to a park for a picnic

Family reunion - invite over any known family members

Blind date - call matchmaker for a single Sim

New outfit - your Sim wants a new outfit, go shopping

Games night - no homework for kids, play games all night

Large pet adoption - get a cat or a dog, Roll dice to choose

Small pet adoption - a small caged animal will join the family (including rabbits)

Grouchy - your Sim picks d4 arguments with another

Vacation time - spend a couple nights away at a vacation destination (or more!)

Fitness regime - your Sim wants to work out, get fit and eat healthy

Rebellious - child or teen skips school and doesn’t do homework for 1 to 3 days, sneaks out, bad interactions

Date night - take a Sim couple out on a date

It’s a phase - a child will only wear a costume for 1 to 3 days, teens get a piercing or drastically change appearance

Party time - throw a party!

Friendly neighbour - chat up the next d3 walk bys

Bad influence - influence someone to do something stupid d4 times

Take advantage - influence someone to do you a favor d4 times

Exchange student - host a teenager from a foreign country; receive $5000 from the exchange agency to cover your expenses

Tired of cooking - order delivery at least once a day for 2 to 4 days

Shopaholic - patronize at least 4 different local businesses this round

Stray love - greet and interact with the next stray you see, try to adopt

Old pets, new tricks - teach a pet a new command

Lottery win - roll dice 1 to 10 and multiply by 10,000

Scratch card win - roll dice 1 to 10 and multiply by 1000

Worst fears realized - fulfill 5 fears in a rotation

Barber shop - change your Sim’s hairstyle

Four eyes - your Sim needs to get glasses

Witchy - become a witch for at least two rotations

Redecorate - choose a room or space in the home and give it a facelift

Identity crisis - change aspiration for this round

Reconnect with friends - invite 2-4 friends for an outing

Make Your Move - if single, try to initiate a romantic relationship with a Sim that you have a high relationship/chemistry with

Time to Commit - if you’re in a romantic relationship but uncommitted, take it to the next level (either go steady or engagement/marriage depending)

Scary dare - visit the cemetery at night

Dine out - go out to a restaurant to have a meal

Lead by Example - have your Sim encourage their child in a trait they value

Kitchen Renovations - no dishwasher or stove, just a sink and microwave or toaster oven, while you wait for the new appliances to arrive! (D4 days)

On the prowl - take a single (or romance) Sim out on the town to pick someone up for woohoo (or teen level activities)

Hobby Focus - Spend at least two hours every day doing an activity for your chosen hobby

Brace face - child or teen Sim must get braces for the round

Dye Job - dye hair a different colour for the round

Slumber Party - teen or child invites friends over for a sleepover

Cool Parent - try to befriend d2 of your kid’s friends

Playing Matchmaker - influence a friend to flirt with someone else

ISBI light - pick a Sim and control only them for 3 days

Creature of the Night - become a vampire for the round

Unexpected Tax Bill - lose d20-40% of your family funds to unpaid back taxes

Power outage - d2 days with no power (only make uncooked meals)

Family Heirlooms - inherit d3 family heirlooms from a distant relative; use kaching and purchase items of around $1000 each

Infertility - your Sim is sadly no longer able to have children!

Orphan relation - a close relation has died, leaving their child orphaned! As the closest living relative, you are now the legal guardian. Move in a toddler or child (d2). Receive $5000 from the government for your generosity to help raise the little tyke.

Rocky relationship - couple argues at least 2 times a day in the round

Great aunt/uncle in town - create an elderly Sim to come stay for the round - after they become a townie if desired

Bylaw fine - your Sim put the trash out to the curb too early and have received a bylaw fine - d6 x $100

Start a club! Find up to 3 Sims who share your hobby, and get to know them better. If you can participate in your chosen hobby together, even better!

Money tree! Your Sim finds a mysterious tree in a pot by their front door. The note on it says to use it wisely because it will only be around for a short time? Buy a money tree and keep for one rotation

Resurrect old friendships - call and invite over the friend your Sim has lost touch with the most (lowest relationship score while still being friends)

Customer appreciation day - to thank your loyal customers for their patronage, mark down the prices at your shop for a day and provide treats for your customers

Ambrosia - take a sip from the elixir of life (Roll to choose between adults or elders in the household)

Mate like rabbits - risky woohoo d5 times in the next 48 hours, hope there aren’t any unintended consequences!

Unexpected vet bill! Your little companion swallowed something they shouldn’t have and the bill comes to $5000! If you don’t have enough money, you might have to take out a loan.

Woohoo scavenger hunt - must woohoo on/in four different possible locations this round (bed, couch, car, photobooth, hot tub, changing booth, elevator)

Lost a dare - walk around in a silly costume for d3 days, go on at least one date or outing in it

Holding a Torch - your Sim is feeling nostalgic for their first crush; have them meet up for a date and see where it leads…

Running with the pack - become a werewolf for the round

I Want More! - your Sim now has six want slots

Changing Preferences - change all your turn ons and turn offs - will this affect how you feel about your significant other?

A Sudden Craving - change to grilled cheese aspiration for the round

Kibble of Life - give your four legged friends something to help keep them around longer

Sudden Poverty - family funds reduced to $100

Sudden Weath - family funds increased to $250,000

For extra mayhem and the introduction of a little randomness to gameplay, nothing like an ROS!

Here is the one I've been using for my game, heavily inspired by a lot of great ROS out there, but tweaked to suit my game. In case it can be helpful for anyone, here it is! It's a d12+d6 roll:

Your heart stopped when you heard the sudden click of the door unlocking. Goddamn it.. why now?.... is what you'd usually ask yourself when Arlecchino entered the room.. but now you were wondering how exactly you'd get out of this situation.

Rafa frowned. "I don't regret what I had to do, but I knew Marco, you know? I never thought I'd end up killing him."

"You didn't get him killed. He was working for Ximena, doing what she wanted him to do."

He nodded slowly. "But we changed things, right? Now she'll be in prison for forty years and won't get out to chase time travellers?"

"Chase who?"

Their stomachs dropped as the door to the interrogation room opened. Ximena had always moved quietly, which helped her get away with so much for so long. Conrad pushed his shoulders back. "No one. It's a joke. You've probably watched the news since you've been in here."

Ximena shrugged. "Why watch what's going on in a world I'm locked away from?"

"You deserve to be in here just as much as I deserve to be behind bars in San Myshuno," said Rafa sternly.

Ximena glanced at the brother she raised from the time he was small, but a coldness burned from her amber eyes unlike any look she'd ever given him. "Aren't you looking for a plea deal?"

Rafa turned to Conrad with a frown. "Could you leave us? I know the room is recording us, but what I want to say, I need to focus on her."

"On me?" Ximena scoffed. "You betrayed me!"

"You betrayed him, Ximena."

With the last word, Conrad left them in the room, greeting Felix next door in the observation room. They watched as Rafa and Ximena took seats across from one another at the small table, listening to the speakers pouring their conversation through the walls.

"Why did you have Jimmy killed?"

"That's not even what I'm in here for. You told them about the BriteU job that got those freshmen killed. And the cartel won't be happy when they learn you gave up half their weapons stockpile in San Myshuno."

"They can get more guns. And what do you know about the cartel these days? They dropped you, Ximena. They left you in here with no one to rescue you this time. Because you killed Jimmy."

"He was no one. He only meant something to me, and I got what I needed before he talked to the cops. He was a liability. I did what the cartel does with liabilities."

"I followed you for years even as you got more and more erratic. I was too young to say no to you and you knew it. You took advantage of me."

"I was protecting you," she insisted. "If you weren't in with the cartel, as close as you were to me? They would have killed you."

"I just wanted to live a normal life and be a normal kid."

Her stare bared no obvious emotion. "We both wanted that, Rafa."

"I'm sorry I kept you in here, but I'm not sorry. I hope you understand that."

Her eyes narrowed into slits and she glared at him with vengeance. "I'll never understand you, Rafa. I'd curse you myself, if I ever believed any of that old witch magic from Selva."

Inside the observation room, Felix and Conrad were growing uncomfortable as the Bonillas confrontation escalated, interrupted when the San Myshuno detective who'd escorted Rafa to Brindleton Prison walked in with his phone out.

"I just got off the phone with the judge," he announced. "She accepted Rafa's plea and he'll be released as soon as next week."

Rafa scoffed in the next room. "Fine. Curse me. But you lost me, Ximena. Remember that."

Ximena jumped up and raised her hands to her face in anger. "I didn't lose you, Rafa. I know exactly where you stand. You chose to stand against your own flesh and blood, who raised you when the world would have let you die, and as long as I live I'll make you regret it."

"I only regret everything I did because you encouraged me."

"I regret saving you from Selva. I should have left you there and run away on my own."

Conrad walked back inside the room followed by Felix, breaking up Ximena and Rafa once and for all. "I think you've both said more than enough."

Guards took Ximena back to her cell, leaving Rafa to cool down with his attorney and Conrad, the man who cared for him like a brother. "Are you alright?"

"I'll be fine." Rafa pushed back his shoulders. "Tell the detective I want to go back now."

"No problem," said Conrad. "But Felix and I want to talk to you first."

"The judge called while Ximena was in here," said Felix. "She accepted your plea. It'll take the paperwork less than a week to be processed because I'm the one who's going to do it, but once the county rubberstamps everything, you'll be a free man!"

"Are you serious?"

"As serious as death from a laughing fit!"

Rafa glanced between them in disbelief as weight lifted from Conrad's shoulders. He looked away, composing himself. Ximena was behind bars and Rafa was a free man; the saga of the Bonillas was supposed to end this way. Ximena was out of his life for decades, at least, but he wouldn't let reconnecting with Rafa go to waste.

"Promise me you and Melissa will move into a real place and get out of the abandoned ship. You don't need to hide anymore."

"Ximena's right that the cartel might still try to find me," admitted Rafa. "But I can take care of myself. Melissa, too."

Felix nodded plainly. "I'm quite sure that's true. But let's hope you'll never get the chance to show how good you are. For their sake."

The attorney sensed Rafa wanted a minute alone with Conrad, excusing himself with a smile. "I think I'll get started on that paperwork now!"

When the men were alone, Rafa looked ominously at Conrad. "Can you turn the mics off?"

Conrad nodded, flipping a switch on the desk lamp as he waited for Rafa to speak.

"I didn't tell you everything Marco told me before he died. I didn't know how to say this in front of everyone, but he told me Ash... In the future, people feared and followed him. He said, 'You don't know what he's capable of.'"

"Ash will barely be twenty in a little over a decade," shot back Conrad. "You met him. He loves homework and his sisters - how dangerous could he be?"

Rafa shrugged. "He didn't say how before we got back to the shack. But we can hope we changed enough that he won't be dangerous now. Right?"

Conrad nodded, refusing to believe anything different about the boy he loved as a son. But he went home that night wondering how to tell Heather, while Rafa was soon released from prison in San Myshuno.

With his newfound freedom, he returned to Melissa in Sulani. Elated and in love they made up for time apart, finally free to build a life together. ->

About your Random Occurrence Scenario (ROS) Generator. When I want to create my own version I need to make it woth my own GUID. Can yours and mine then be used simultaneously as they have a different GUID?

Hi Lientebollemeis! If you're talking about the automated version, they probably won't necessarily conflict in the sense of one overriding the other, like say, a global mod. If the two versions are timed differently there shouldn't be an issue. If they go off at the same time, then a player may get multiple ROS pop-ups. Though if someone wants a different version, they could just take out the version they aren't using.

If you're talking about the object version, I'm 99.9% sure they wouldn't have an issue being in the same game as they would be completely separate objects.
