I love how one lady (Simone Giertz) turned a shitty Tesla into a decent truck five years ago that still runs fine and can do Normal Truck Things, but the company itself can't make a truck that can survive outside the factory for more than a week without killing, maiming, or endangering you and everyone else on the road with you if you buy one.

In 2024, wealth concentration rose to an all-time high. According to Forbes’ Billionaires List, not only are there more billionaires than ever—2,781—but those billionaires are also richer than ever, with an aggregate worth of $14.2 trillion. This is a trend that looks set to continue unabated. A recent report from the financial data company Altrata estimated that about 1.2 million individuals who are worth more than $5 million will pass on a collective wealth of almost $31 trillion over the next decade.

Discontentment and concern over the consequences of extreme wealth in our society is growing. Senator Bernie Sanders, for instance, stated that the “obscene level of income and wealth inequality in America is a profoundly moral issue.” In a joint op-ed for CNN in 2023, Democratic congresswoman Barbara Lee and Disney heiress Abigail Disney wrote that “extreme wealth inequality is a threat to our economy and democracy.” In 2024, when the board of Tesla put to vote a $56 billion pay package for Elon Musk, some major shareholders voted against it, declaring that such a compensation level was “absurd” and “ridiculous.”

In 2025, the fight against rising wealth inequality will be high on the political agenda. In July 2024, the G20—the world’s 20 biggest economies—agreed to work on a proposal by Brazil to introduce a new global “billionaire tax” that would levy a 2 percent tax on assets worth more than $1 billion. This would raise an estimated $250 billion a year. While this specific proposal was not endorsed in the Rio declaration, the G20 countries agreed that the super rich should be taxed more.

Progressive politicians won’t be the only ones trying to address this problem. In 2025, millionaires themselves will increasingly mobilize and put pressure on political leaders. One such movement is Patriotic Millionaires, a nonpartisan group of multimillionaires who are already publicly campaigning and privately lobbying the American Congress for a guaranteed living wage for all, a fair tax system, and the protection of equal representation. “Millionaires and large corporations—who have benefited most from our country’s assets—should pay a larger percentage of the tab for running the country,” reads their value statement. Members include Abigail Disney, former BlackRock executive Morris Pearl, legal scholar Lawrence Lessig, screenwriter Norman Lear, and investor Lawrence Benenson.

Another example is TaxMeNow, a lobby group founded in 2021 by young multimillionaires in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland which also advocates for higher wealth taxation. Its most famous member is the 32-year old Marlene Engelhorn, descendant of Friedrich Engelhorn, founder of German pharma giant BASF. She recently set up a council made up of 50 randomly selected Austrian citizens to decide what should happen to her €25 million inheritance. “I have inherited a fortune, and therefore power, without having done anything for it,” she said in a statement. “If politicians don’t do their job and redistribute, then I have to redistribute my wealth myself.”

Earlier this year, Patriotic Millionaires, TaxMeNow, Oxfam, and another activist group called Millionaires For Humanity formed a coalition called Proud to Pay More, and addressed a letter to global leaders during the annual gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Signed by hundreds of high-net-worth individuals—including heiress Valerie Rockefeller, actor Simon Pegg, and filmmaker Richard Curtis—the letter stated: “We all know that ‘trickle down economics’ has not translated into reality. Instead it has given us stagnating wages, crumbling infrastructure, failing public services, and destabilized the very institution of democracy.” It concluded: “We ask you to take this necessary and inevitable step before it’s too late. Make your countries proud. Tax extreme wealth.” In 2025, thanks to the nascent movement of activist millionaires, these calls will grow even louder.

​Beauty is only skin deep, but hair is a form of art, and she is Michelangelo, she is DaVinci and O’Keefe and Franzetta.  She sits at the intersection of sculpture and painting and fabric art, spinning her transitory wonders, and as long as you think you look perfect, she knows that you are.  She knows that for all of us, looking into the mirror and seeing what we expect to see can be the most powerful sacrament in a universe filled with benedictions.

​She is in the bleach and the blow-dry, in the shampoo and the set, and she attends most open-casket funerals, to make sure that even on our way out of this world and into the next, we aren’t ashamed to be seen.  All she asks is that we find a way to be ourselves, that we breathe in deep of the setting chemicals and the salon air, sweet with chemical processes and bright with overhead lighting, and consider who we most desire to be.

​Hair is forever transitory.  Hair can change, and no style is inherently forever.  So wear it the way that makes you happiest, and know that you do so with Simon’s blessing.  She has changed before.  She will change again.  To live is to change, in ways both large and small.  Hair keeps growing, no matter how perfectly it may be styled in the moment, and she wants you to grow.  Even if you grow away from her, she wants you to grow.

Lights flashed in my face from reporters and press like the goddamn president showed up.

In reality that isn't what happened, I got caught in what I do. Hi, I am Tesla Knight and I'm known as The Reaper. My father is Evan Knight, Mafia leader of the Knights of Destruction, you may know him as The Prosecutor.

How did I end up on the Task Force's radar? Well that's because I'm America's most wanted. I'm an assassin and a hacker, I kill people if I'm given a contract and I sell government secrets on the dark web.

I know I am not a good person, I know I am not getting into heaven for what I have done, but I wanted to do right.

After being extracted by the Task Force and meeting Captain Price, he offered me a deal. It was either going to jail for what I have done or give up my father and his legacy also his operation.

Well like I said I am not a good person, of course I was going to make the man who made who I was burn for making me this way, so why not go out with a banger and tell the press who Evan Knight is and his daughter on live national television.

But my story doesn't start here in a room with handcuffs on and in front of people flashing cameras and reporters trying to yell over each other to get a question in.

My story starts with Darren Torres, my father's right hand man and my childhood friend. I was given a contract by my father himself to kill Darren's little brother, Ryan. He crossed my dad by stealing and he paid the consequence.

I guess that's the down side of being in the Mafia, there's no slaps on the wrists or second chances.

Ever since I killed Ryan I've been on Darren's hit list, but I got saved by getting on the military's radar.

I chuckled to myself when everyone sat, once they did I saw the team that saved me in the back of the room, Lexi "Angel" Bennett, Simon "Ghost" Riley, John Price, John "Soap" MacTavish, and Alexander "König" Kilgore.

You know I was going to go through with going to jail for my father I know I said I would let him burn earlier but somebody changed my mind. They told me I should use my gifts for good, use it to save people.

But that same person told me that I was a killer and cheap, my eyes found his blue ones underneath the black mask that only showed his eyes.

So that's why I'm up here in front of people about to tell my story of how I'm mafia royalty to the renowned Evan Knight and why I did what I did.

So this is what's going to happen I'm going to tell my story, get my dad put away, and go into witness protection until legal things go away or at least get figured out.

You know when I met the task force I didn't think I would make friends let alone meet a guy that could look past what I did but at the same time use it against me, I'll admit it I did fall for him, Colonel König.

But out of my pettiness and stubbornness I'm going to do what I need to do to look out for myself.

Some right-wing media figures defended the program, arguing that H-1B visas are “not enough” to replace American workers or pointing out that less than 1% of the “high-skilled tech workforce” are visa holders. Others criticized the program as a “total and complete scam” or even the replacement of “White Americans through legal loopholes.”

Trump’s selection of Sriram Krishnan as AI adviser sparked controversy within MAGA media

In December 2024, infighting erupted in right-wing media over the H-1B visa program following Donald Trump’s selection of venture capitalist Sriram Krishnan as senior policy adviser for artificial intelligence. According to The Washington Post, right-wing activist and podcaster Laura Loomer criticized Krishnan over his support for “making it easier for skilled foreign workers to come to the United States” and the tech industry’s dependency on H-1B visas. After Musk advocated for the visas, Trump expressed his own support for the program in apparent contradiction of his previous position. Trump stated, “I didn't change my mind. I've always felt we have to have the most competent people in our country, and we need competent people.” He further emphasized the need for “smart people coming into our country.” During his 2016 presidential campaign, however, Trump advocated for the complete elimination of the H-1B program, and his administration suspended H-1B visas in 2020.
