I need to try and explain the significance of what you have done for me. I was sitting in the same spot for like 3 hours, stalling because I was having an OCD spiral that was making it impossible to get up.

And then this popped into my inbox. I read your message and whispered "Thank you," and then I immediately went into my room to get ready to shower.

You broke me out of the spiral.

Thanks to you, I'm now showered and clean and dressed for the day, and my laundry is spinning while I sit here and eat some lunch that I made for myself.

So... Thank you. Thank you so so much.

i think my favourite short story i wrote this year was number 122, 'breaking out of darkness, finding it between us instead'! it's a bit longer than usual but i had so much fun writing it and i really enjoyed how it turned out!

Story: Brothers from other Mothers

Mian yawns as he walks through the cold corridor, pulling his blanket tighter around him. Winter sucks.

He turns left when the corridor forks, and hesitates when he sees Kane. His teacher has someone backed against the wall, a dangerous look on his face.

Then Kane turns his head, the dangerous look leaving so fast Mian starts doubting it was ever there as he steps back. "Mian," he says softly, gesturing for him to get close.

Mian starts walking, yawning again. It's really cold.

"I trust we won't have this problem again?" Kane says to the man he'd had pinned, voice almost as cold as the stones around him.

"O-of course, sir! I'm very sorry!" The man hurries off, and Mian stares after him as he stops at Kane's side.

"Now, what're you doing out of bed, tiny?" Kane ruffles his hair, and Mian looks up, sticking his tongue out.

"I'm not that small. I've even grown since last time!"

"Is that so?" Kane smiles at him, all warm and soft. Then, he moves his hand between Mian's head and his own body. "Oh my, I believe you're right. You've definitely grown." Then, without warning, he picks Mian up, settling him on hip.

"Hey!" Mian protests, even if only for show. "I'm 7! I can walk by myself!" Father wouldn't like it if he just let himself get carried.

"That's true." Kane smiles, walking in the direction of Mian's room. "But with how hard you're growing, you'll soon be too tall for me to carry. Surely you'll indulge me, hm?"

"... Fine." Mian huffs, burying his face in Kane's shoulder as he yawns again. Kane is really warm... Comfy...

first grom date - Gus and Matt go to grom together, and neither of them have an idea on how to act on a date (i have to rewrite a big part of it tho)

OC in 15 (Tag Game)

I found this tag game via @the-down-upside-finch, and figured it might be a little bit of fun to try this for Iodine!

Rules: Share 15 or fewer lines of dialogue from an OC, ideally lines that capture the character/personality/vibe of the OC. Bonus points for just using the dialogue without other details about the scene, but you're free to include those as well!

“Then you wouldn’t mind me having a little smoke. Enna hasn’t, and we’ve known each other for years now!”

“She already knows that Enna is dead; I don’t think she would volunteer if she had been the one to find out. Like me.”

“It was a Tuesday for her, something so that we could get a pound cake from a grocery store.” 

“I’m not sure, actually. I just had a strange dream where I was all alone, with nobody to guide me. It was really cold, and there were echoes all around.”

Foiled attack

Characters: Mai, Motonari, Hiroyoshi

A/N: I'm in like chapter 2 or 3 of Motonari's route but this prompt made me think of a scenario like this so uh. Yeah.

Mai stares at her hands in horror, watching the blood flow over them. Above her, all light has left the man's eyes as his full weight drops on her.

She-

She just killed someone.

She just killed someone and now she's stuck beneath his corpse.

"Merda!" She can hear Motonari curse right before the body is yanked off of her, and she shudders. She just killed one of his men. What is he going to do to her? Will he kill her for it?

There is a weird look in his eyes as his hands hover over her, before he turns to the side. "Hiroyoshi!" he calls, and near immediately the old man is there. Mai doesn't follow the rest of the conversation they have as she spots the man who had attacked her, the knife she had barely managed to grab lodged in his heart.

Hands are on her, and then Hiroyoshi is helping her up, turning her away from her attacker, pulling her close.

"I- he-" Mai trips over her words, trying to explain why she had done it, hoping it's enough for Motonari to spare her.

"Shh, it's alright, Princess," Hiroyoshi tries to soothe her. "You don't have to worry about it. We'll take care of everything."

"But-"

"It's okay." He leads her away, one hand slowly rubbing over her back. "Let's get you cleaned up, alright, Princess?"
