They didn’t cast Jared Harris as anybody in game of thrones because they knew he would be too powerful. An immediate fan favorite. Ian McShane bit parts are a dime a dozen but the one smart move that D&D made was keeping Jared out of it because if they didn’t and killed him off people would be more mad than they were about the ending because he’d be so beloved they would literally riot in the streets if he died because he out-acted everyone in the main cast and YES!
