I've fallen out of J-pop lately (despite it being my favorite genre) but omfg finally remembered to check this one out and I'm blown tf away

Yuu Miyashita does it a-fucking-gain with his beautiful vocals on this track. Seeeeecun deserves strong praise here, too, creating the music, lyrics, and arrangement.

1:30 was a particularly strong point imo. I loved how it broke things up in a semi-panicy way. It really highlights the thoughts going through the character's head. Their life is fleeting as the beats hitting, and they are spending said life working at a place that corrodes them psychologically. They fear working until they either die of exhaustion or kill themselves. Such an amazing musical force pushing at the fleeting, almost skittish nature of the first bridge.

The chorus, however... fucking eargasmic. The drop and gentle support from the instrumental... the heavy emphasis on the cadence of the vocals and occasional bites from it... like being an overwhelmed baby on a train, your mother trying her best to comfort you, but you can still hear the mutters and complaints from the people her voice can't drown out.

I was originally just going to take this post to thoroughly explain why the character in this song is hot (relatable, "I can fix him," go king go, bob haircut supremacy) but eh that's proven enough in the first and last chorus. Music analysis is more worth my time. This whole song is hot as fuck and I need Yuu Miyashita to whisper sweet nothings into my ear like one of those anime boyfriend asmr channels. Send fucking post

Like Deuce was raised by a single mom, Vil by a single dad, Azul gets along well with his step father, Ruggie was raised by his grandma, Lilia is Silver’s (and Malleus’s tbh) adoptive father, and I could go on cause there are more examples.

It’s genuinely nice how casual the writing is when it comes to these things. Like yeah, their home lives are different and it’s chill cause there’s nothing wrong with not having a nuclear family.

Idk I just imagine Cater not giving any fucks. He treats you like normal. This obviously endears Cater to you, as everyone else is low-key very annoying when it comes to your diagnoses. So now you're the closest to Cater, of all people, and he does not hesitate to post a million pictures of you two hanging out to Magicam, reminding everyone else that he's your favorite and missing everyone the fuck off.

Sebek is the fucking worst when it comes to this omfg. You know how he is in game, the annoying little crocodile, obsessing over Malleus and being low-key racist??? towards all humans? Uh YUH he is one of the most ableist by far. And yet he's always helping you, like why??? Bro he acts like he hates you, yet he follows you around like you're Malleus??? He will not leave you alone, insisting you need his help.

Hey you n Silver are kinda similar when you think about it. Like you may not be falling asleep, but you're definitely not awake whenever your attention decides to deficit. He often finds himself wishing he could use his UM to see what you're daydreaming about. I'd only it'd work that way. You do also feel empathetic towards his lights. You even introduce him to the rubber band trick, where you wear a rubber band and snap it whenever your brain wanders or you start to feel sleepy. Sometimes when he sees you snap it, he finds himself fiddling with his own... not because he's feeling drowsy, but because he feels connected to you.

Liliaaaaaa. Silver and Malleus are the only ones who really realize this, but you make Lilia go full dad mode. No joke. He employs all the same tricks he used on those two on you. But neither Silver nor Malleus would ever tell you this, not on purpose. Mostly because Lilia is always watching/listening to ensure they don't. Because he knows you'll get upset if you learn he is quite literally babying you. But it's so hard not to!!! You remind him so so much of them... of Malleus with your mood swings, of Silver with your nodding off. Plus, as a human, you are a baby to him, so in a way, you should let him treat you like one. I think that's Lilia's favorite part, you make him feel so young.

BONUS

Sam has your meds. They're available in his shop, and they have been the entire time. You're just in the shop when you see them, and Sam's just like, "why didn't you ask sooner, of fucking course I have your meds in stock, why wouldn't I, I'm SAM."

So this raises a new problem, because he's, yknlw, SAM, so you won't be getting your meds without paying up.

And with your measly earnings, there's no way you'll be able to consistently pay for your meds.

So this raises a new challenge for the yanderes: who's gonna be your supplier? Your sugar pill daddy, if you will.

Fool's Ramblings #6: Trustworthy Prefect

Disclaimer: This prompt and the preceding discussion before the Story prompt is revealed are based on general speculation and context clues. This is all for fun and thus may be inaccurate. For all intents and purposes, please do not take this as a character analysis, it is not.

The NRC boys do not fully trust each other. Not like in a "I cant trust this guy with a secret " No, its like...the basic trust "regular" friends would have with each other. They are not actively suspicious about another (with some exceptions) or actively trying to hide something (with some exceptions) however they do not trust others on a deeper level, for lack of better wording.

Crowley did say that NRC is full of talented guys who are too full of themselves to get along. Perhaps its more obvious if we focus on the NPCs who act that way. The NPCs may not be as powerful as some of the main cast but they are stil mages.To sum, NRC students are not typical students.

In a school environment as dysfunctional as NRC, you don't really form a deep sense of trust with your peers.

The main cast are NRC students so mayhaps its just an NRC student character trait, with talent comes some type of character flaw. These guys are still regular people, it just happens that they wield magical prowess that can cause the occasional explosion, destruction, and danger to life and limb.

More often that not (most of the time) they only move in the collective if they have the same interest in mind or are facing a similar threat (Ortho had to threaten them with blowing up the school to save his brother) Most students don't really care about others, and even if they do its because the other have more power over them. A hierarchy of some sorts, maybe.

SO THE POINT IS:

Yuu listens to the guys confess stuff they usually won't tell another.

Yuu is an exception to the people who are deemed "untrustworthy".

Because Yuu is technically an outsider, an other-worlder, the NRC boys tend to trust them more unconsciously. They gravitate towards them without thinking.

Sometimes the secret they hear is absurd or not a big deal (for Yuu). They just listen and observe the boys like they're in a sitcom. They sometimes take notes too, just in case there's another potential overblot.

What Azul would offer to learn what the others confide to the Prefect!Unfortunately, he has his own confessions he wants to keep safe.

Yuu finds themselves most often than not sitting in the Ramshackle lounge in the dead of Night as their friend/classmate/upper classmen yaps away.

One could say they are offering therapy but the Prefect doesn't really give advice. They just kinda...listen.

Yuu doesn't leak anything they hear, maybe that's why they keep getting tossed more and more emotional baggage. The thank-you gifts are nice, though.
