It's rather interesting to look at the characters' preferred styles because you can infer a little bit of their personalities from them. I noticed that their first favorite, worth the most points, would usually be in-line with their outward personalities. But it's the second that interestingly says a part of them that others don't readily know.

For example, Silver's is basic and elegant. Basic is obvious, because he's a guy who yearns for nothing aside from protecting what he already has. The second one is a bit surprising. Elegant, which is probably the opposite of basic as its furnitures are usually gaudy and over-designed. But it makes sense-- because he's a prince of a fallen peoples.

Sebek and Lilia are also rather obvious. Lilia likes cute things! Sebek likes stylish things, which is usually the theme for more traditional furnitures and is a pattern common among the characters who are rather gentlemanly by nature. Malleus himself has stylish as his most favorite.

But Lilia and Sebek have something in common: unique. While yes they're both a bit weird just like the furniture within this category, it might actually convey something deeper than that. It's that both of them feel ostracized in their own homes. They at times feel like people who just don't belong, what with Lilia being the shamed general of a dead princess and Sebek being a half-blood mutt in a land full of purebloods.

It's their preferred style that isn't worth as much as the first one and maybe try to shake off, but even so is a part of them that stays with them wherever they go.

As for Malleus... What's more surprising is the theme that he doesn't like rather than the two that he likes. It's stated in-game that the Thorn Fairy is the height of elegance. Malleus himself frequently mentions elegance because it's something he strives to maintain every waking moment.

But he doesn't like Elegant things. Because unlike Vil who doesn't stray from his goal of becoming the most beautiful of them all, Malleus personally doesn't actually care to be elegant. It's just something expected of him; something he'd get scolded over for if he was caught lacking.

In a way, elegance is his prison.

So in its stead, he likes simplicity instead. Because in his heart, he just wants to fit in with others and not be constantly reminded that he's just different. He wants to make normal friends. He wants to live a normal life. He finds solace in Ramshackle dorm and its absolute simplicity in the most truest sense.

I'd write about the other boys but this'll become an entire research paper lmao. Try to look at your other faves' styles and come up with reasons why they like it! 👀

I'd like the solution of book 7 to be that Lilia stays for at least for a bit to let his boys process their grief at an appropriate pace. I think he'd wear a very cozy bat poncho and would actually allow his boys to take care of him for once.

Hugs are a little awkward after losing his magic, especially with people way taller than him. Malleus has to lift him up, which is a little awkward for the both of them. Silver also has to bend down a lot for hugs, pats etc.

I didn't draw this but I think Lilia will try to find the silliest solutions to make up for his lack of magic. You will catch this man upside down, hanging on the top floor railing to make silvers soul almost leave his body when he's on his way to make his morning coffee.

You ship espilver? What do you like about it? (I see a lot of people ship it but idk why but it’s cute)

Honestly, I like them because they are SUCH a hysterical duo. I've had people ask me why I made Mirage (my Espilver fankid) such a jerk, but like. Silver and Espio can both be absolute dickwads LMAO.

I first started liking them back in Sonic Rivals, where they first met! Most people ship Espio/Silver because of their friendship in IDW, but I think Rivals really highlights what makes their relationship so appealing to me.

Once they are on the same side, they are basically ride or die. It's so funny. There is a scene where Silver runs out of rings and can't use his telekinesis, so Espio proposes that they steal rings from Sonic and Tails for their own use.

Silver is like Yeah!! Good idea!! And willfully goes to shake down an 8-year-old for his lunch money, HAHA!! He even calls Tails "half-pint" like. Wtf is his problem.

They are super supportive of one another, too. Despite Silver's abrasive personality, Espio admits early on that for some reason he can't explain, he trusts the guy.

They encourage and support each other throughout the game, with Espio doing his best to restore Silver's confidence at several instances.

And when they succeed, they directly credit each other! Silver also sounds pretty flustered when Espio expresses his gratitude, it's super cute!! Definitely worth listening to the voice acting for this scene alone.

And of course, they have plenty of great scenes in the IDW comics! Espio is the first person to realize something is troubling Silver, and he reaches out to him in private in an attempt to comfort him.

So yeah, they are super cute!! ❤️ (I'm also a Silvaze shipper, but Espilver ended up being canon in my fankid AU bc I knew I wanted to make a Blazamy kid early on! My sapphic heart could not resist the pink/purple gfs.)

SO, something I see a lot when it comes to shadow shipping (mainly with Sonadow and Shadamy) is that the S/O wouldn't work because they "remind Shadow too much of Maria." Personally, I've always head cannoned that Cream was most like Maria (which obviously wouldn't be a shadow s/o) but really you could make that statement with any of the characters since until Shadow Gens we didn't have too much to go on in terms of Maria's character outside of hazy amnesia impaired memories... SO THATS WHY I MADE THIS COMIC!

it's been so long since I've drawn humans and even longer since I've drawn a comic that isn't shipping based so forgive me if the pacing and characters are a little weird. I'm trying. Also working on a big old character study that's really just for me to understand how to draw more sonic characters better and add my own style to it. because I want to make more comics and have a lot of ideas so, if you like shadows design in this, stay tuned for more? everyone always talks about Alfred polishing silver in the Manor like it’s some heinous chore, and yeah, obviously anything in bulk like that would be unbearable, but I don’t think people truly realize how satisfying it is to polish silver? silver polish takes away years of tarnish and water stains. you pull all the intricate details in the piece out, like initials or artistic embellishments. when you do a good job, the piece looks brand new by the end. Alfred Pennyworth is one (1) man with limited control over the craziness in his life but do you know what he has? an entire Manor’s worth of silver pieces (multiple sets, some in storage and some in active use), a bottle of silver polish, and enough stress to make doctors grimace. he’s fine.

I want to see Silver stab Malleus. I want to see Silver stab Malleus at the height of the final battle and immediately start crying because he doesn’t want to hurt someone he loves and respects so much, and he doesn’t want to cause more pain to someone who’s already hurting, and he really really wants this nightmare to be over and for them all to go home to reality. And this is what breaks Malleus from his overblot spiral—not the sword, but the tears. His overblot beginning and ending with Silver’s tears. Silver’s not a baby anymore, to be pacified by lullabies and a sweet dream. He’s grown enough now to be ready to face reality, so Malleus has to be, too.
