Being someone who interprets dmmd as a semi-horror game (in the same vein as the Catherine games) it's really weird interacting with the fandom At All bc my takes are very different from the general fandom

My views are that "oh yeah it's horrifying that the characters think this is a good situation to be in, when honesty they are fucked beyond belief" and the fandom at large is like "awwww they're so cute together!!!!" Like that isn't HIS FUCKING DOG??????????????????????

Like... squad what if you found out that your dog has the brain of an old version of yourself (to phrase it lightly) and the only way to be romantically involved with it is to put your dogs consciousness into the body of your dying sibling. Even in other routes, he gets harassed often and even assaulted. He fucks Clear as he's dying - does that not hold any element of horror to you?????? Is it not cool how those were slipped in to you???

Just because it isn't framed as horror doesn't make it not disturbing. Just because Aoba's ok with it doesn't make it an ok thing to pursue. It made the Silent Princess appearances during replaythroughs a bit ominous, as the princess usually marries the knights in those stories. It's unsettling how much Sei loves Aoba, despite them never meeting until the very end. How he's relying on what is essentially a stranger with his life. Putting his faith in someone who may give fuck-all because it's all he can do. No hope or will to live, he needs Aoba to kill him. He's doing all of this in the HOPES of getting HIMSELF KILLED. No sad poetics???????? Nothing about how he could only love this tiny little concept of hope and how, because he was likely raised on storybooks and such, he couldn't understand what brotherly love was like? So he mistook this feeling of caring about his brother got warped into this princess-hero complex????? The hopelessness? The horror that he never got to truly experience love outside of Towe's apology gifts?????

Given, I do view dmmd in general through a romanceless point of view so. Maybe the romantical stuff blocks the horrors out for everyone else? Also, don't get me wrong, I don't HATE everyone who ships the weird shit in the fandom, I just try to avoid it as much as I can. I'm genuinely in it for the plot.

I'd like the solution of book 7 to be that Lilia stays for at least for a bit to let his boys process their grief at an appropriate pace. I think he'd wear a very cozy bat poncho and would actually allow his boys to take care of him for once.

Hugs are a little awkward after losing his magic, especially with people way taller than him. Malleus has to lift him up, which is a little awkward for the both of them. Silver also has to bend down a lot for hugs, pats etc.

I didn't draw this but I think Lilia will try to find the silliest solutions to make up for his lack of magic. You will catch this man upside down, hanging on the top floor railing to make silvers soul almost leave his body when he's on his way to make his morning coffee.

Do you think Zoro has ever looked at Rayleigh and felt his insides freeze from fear? Do you think he sees a version of his own future where despite everything he’s tried, despite all the blood he’s shed and would go on to shed, his captain would still slip away from his hold — and he’d be left adrift for the rest of his days, drinking to oblivion, alone, bereft of any and all purpose?

Or do you think Zoro would be filled with contempt instead, and disgust at how the peerless Dark King failed to save his own captain’s life, even though it was no fault of his? Do you think Zoro, possessing the stubbornness and bravado of a much younger man, would insist that if it were him, nothing — absolutely no man or force in the universe — would be strong enough to rend him from Luffy’s side, and if Luffy had to die like Roger had to die, that Zoro would simply follow him to the afterlife?

Or do you think perhaps he’s unable to picture it at all — a life without Luffy’s warmth — so he ignores the many parallels between them and avoids contemplating the matter entirely? Perhaps he rather pities Rayleigh, because the former right hand man of the Pirate King should be free, but Rayleigh will never again know the meaning of the word, haunted as he is by a ghost he can’t bear to exorcise.

I've fallen out of J-pop lately (despite it being my favorite genre) but omfg finally remembered to check this one out and I'm blown tf away

Yuu Miyashita does it a-fucking-gain with his beautiful vocals on this track. Seeeeecun deserves strong praise here, too, creating the music, lyrics, and arrangement.

1:30 was a particularly strong point imo. I loved how it broke things up in a semi-panicy way. It really highlights the thoughts going through the character's head. Their life is fleeting as the beats hitting, and they are spending said life working at a place that corrodes them psychologically. They fear working until they either die of exhaustion or kill themselves. Such an amazing musical force pushing at the fleeting, almost skittish nature of the first bridge.

The chorus, however... fucking eargasmic. The drop and gentle support from the instrumental... the heavy emphasis on the cadence of the vocals and occasional bites from it... like being an overwhelmed baby on a train, your mother trying her best to comfort you, but you can still hear the mutters and complaints from the people her voice can't drown out.

I was originally just going to take this post to thoroughly explain why the character in this song is hot (relatable, "I can fix him," go king go, bob haircut supremacy) but eh that's proven enough in the first and last chorus. Music analysis is more worth my time. This whole song is hot as fuck and I need Yuu Miyashita to whisper sweet nothings into my ear like one of those anime boyfriend asmr channels. Send fucking post

Just wanna say how cool it is that the families in twst all have very diverse dynamics, and it’s something that’s normalized

Like Deuce was raised by a single mom, Vil by a single dad, Azul gets along well with his step father, Ruggie was raised by his grandma, Lilia is Silver’s (and Malleus’s tbh) adoptive father, and I could go on cause there are more examples.

It’s genuinely nice how casual the writing is when it comes to these things. Like yeah, their home lives are different and it’s chill cause there’s nothing wrong with not having a nuclear family.
