Given that last (and first) session of our Silt Verses RPG Game ended with us sacrificing my guy only for us to decide we want to play again, I needed to create a new character to play! Her name's Vaani and as one might guess, she's a follower of the Saint Electric 👁️ I'm VERY excited to play her, although i miss Leech and Abe's dynamic terribly, I'm curious to see how Vaani and Abe will get along >:)
[ID: a digital drawing of Vaani, the artists OC. She's a woman with brown skin and long black hair with a bit of grey in a braid. She has a cochlear implant on her right side that has a Saint Electric Prayer-Stamp on it. She's shown from the chest up, facing the right with lightning in the background. /End ID]

I'm playing the Silt Verses RPG with @angryducktimemachine and @dawnwalker and here's the amazing art that @silaaicha did for me of my character Abe Lyman. He's a rat bastard of a man who follows The Watcher in the Wings. He flirted and killed his way through our first game, and gave a monologue so powerful it stayed the hand of another god. He's awful and I love him.
Sadly, Ed's character Leech went off into the woods to appease the god causing problems, so his new character Vaani gets to put up with Abe now. She's going to have her hands full...
[ID: a digital drawing of Abe Lyman, an OC. He's a white man with green eyes and short, curly reddish hair. He has a mustache. He's wearing a long, light green dress shirt with a floral pattern and a long orange scarf. He's giving someone or something the side-eye. /End ID]

My friends and I also started playing this weekend and *also* chose The Cairn Maiden (Leech Teller) and The Watcher (Abe Lyman)! Our characters had such a great dynamic. I adore playing Abe, an overly dramatic bastard of a weasel-man. Sadly, even after Abe succeeded on his monologue roll, Leech fell under the sway of the god we were sent to deal with in order to relocate it. He will be missed, but what a fitting end. It was meant to be a one shot, but we are already making plans to play again.
Just want to say, me and my two friends have been playing and LOVING the silt verses RPG. They are playing as Mori Star (servant of the watcher in the wings) and Ether Ward (servant of the cairin maiden). It's a phenomenal time and I highly recommend it to everyone who likes ttrpgs!!!!
Ahh, awesome, thank you for playing and glad you're enjoying it!
From what I've seen, the Watcher in the Wings seems to be a real standout for players - I think the creators have done a fantastic job of transforming Hembry's relationship with his god into something that feels twisted, funny, and full of possibility in how they engage with the narrative.

Have you played The Silt Verses Roleplaying Game
By Gabriel Robinson & Jason Cordova
A game of folk horror & monstrous divinity.
From the drivethrurpg page: "In The Silt Verses RPG, you play Custodians, employees of the Bureau for the Investigation and Assimilation of Stray Deities. In a world with tens of thousands of gods, your job is to track down the forgotten and stray deities causing trouble in the community and… deal with them. Sometimes that means figuring out how a community can co-exist with the god, and sometimes that means eliminating the god's threat in a more extreme way. Regardless, you are a pawn within an uncaring system, and will eventually be the target of a conspiracy that will try to use your work for its own nefarious purposes."

i cannot coherently express how much i love this podcast, what a beautiful piece of art it is, how much the characters and world have gripped me, or how much the stories told so far have come to mean to me

Surely severing the electric power source from the polar research station will have no consequences whatsoever 👍
[ID: a digital drawing of Vaani, the artists OC. She's kneeling in the foreground of the picture in the darkness, the only light source being her CI which is glowing a cold blue and has a prayer mark of the Saint Electric on it. Behind her in the dark lurks a Saint - a once humanoid form with electric wires and cables sprouting from it's body. /End ID]

My friends @angryducktimemachine and @dawnwalker are deep, deep in the grips of the Silt Verses RPG. As part of playing the game, I wanted to develop a prayer marker for The Watcher in the Wings, the god my character Abe follows. I knew I wanted it to reflect three things: theater, birds, and the idea of being watched. I decided it would be very cool to make the prayer marker out of the symbols used for blocking, either ones that are taped onto the stage itself or on scripts to show how actors should be moving in a scene.
I started with a circle, to represent a theater in the round rather than a traditional stage. This type of staging means that actors are seen from all angels at all times they are on stage. Then I added the T, which indicates where an actor should stop or stand in a scene and it makes the circle look more like an eye. Arrows show where an actor should move, or when the arrow is bent like an L, where they should look. I've used the L more stylistically here to make up the top of the wings, but a follower of the Watcher is always moving and always looking for where their place in a scene should be. Finally, I added the <, which isn't regularly used, but indicates speaking. Perfect for a beak.
I really wish I had access to a stage so that I could actually mark it out in tape, but MS paint will have to do for now.

The Silt Verses RPG has just launched from the acclaimed designers of Brindlewood Bay and The Between!
Investigate stray angels, strange haunts, and murderous cults in a world of gods and sacrifice as a disciple of the Saint Electric, Trawler-man, Watcher in the Wings, Cairn Maiden, Pox Martyr, or the Waxen Scrivener.
Delve into backwoods towns, floating markets where sacred relics are bought and sold, bustling clinics where medical 'miracles' come at a hideous cost - and even a towering skyscraper of conjoined steel, glass, and flesh.
You can purchase a copy over on DriveThruRPG, or at the Silt Verses or The Gauntlet Patreon, netting you the rulebook, 8 Assignments, 6 Faith Sheets, 8 Journey Sheets, and more.
This game really is a labour of love from a small team of innovative indie RPG creators, and already a genuine work of art (so we'd be incredibly grateful for your help in playing, giving feedback, and spreading the word far and wide) - we think it's an absolutely fantastic achievement, and we know The Gauntlet are only going to keep building and improving on the game from here.
You can find out more by joining The Gauntlet Discord.

Why did we make a Magnus Archives RPG and a Welcome to Night Vale RPG and an Old Gods of Appalachia RPG and a Silt Verses RPG and a (planned) Hallowoods RPG when we could have just done Welcome to the ForestTown Archives RPG: Eyes In The Dark Edition

The Silt Verses RPG is climbing the charts. All it needs to beat is Chains of Asmodeus, a WotC dnd module. No big deal.
