Ruggie Bucchi with Ice Bear reader
• The cafeteria was pretty packed with hungry students standing in line. When it was finally your turn, Grim kept pointing at every dish displayed like a child picking their most desired toys at a mall.
Grim: "Hey, henchman! Pick that one for me! Oh, and that one too! That one also looks good, pick it for me! Hurry up, I'm hungry!"
Ice Bear: "... Ice Bear will pick food. Grim go wait on table."
Grim: "Aawww man..."
Ace: "Oh? Does baby Gwim feew sad?"
Grim: "Fnyagh! You wish!"
Deuce: "Can't your hunger wait for the food? It'll only take a minute."
Grim: "The Great Grim ain't waiting on any table on an empty stomach! I'm gonna stand here until I get my food!"
Ice Bear: "sigh"
• You can only grab whatever food you can afford. You chose an omelette for yourself and a sandwich for Grim. Once you give him the sandwich first, you ordered him to wait on the table with Ace and Deuce. By the time you got your tray, Grim was already running to you crying about someone stealing his food.
Grim: "Fnyaaaagh! Henchman! That scumbag thief just stole my sandwich!"
Ice Bear: "?"
Deuce: "Stole it? You gave it to him."
Grim: "I did not!"
Ace: "Yeah, you did. We saw the whole thing."
Grim: "I didn't wanna do that! My body moved on its own!"
Ace: "Just cut it out already, man. If you wanted a smaller sandwich you could've just said so earlier."
Grim: "Fnyaagh, no one believes me?! Henchman, just get that guy already! I swear, he did steal it!"
Ice Bear: "...Ice Bear will share food."
Grim: "Fnyaagh...."
• Despite complaining about the loss of his sandwich, Grim ate most of your food. You think that this might be the time that you must go grocery shopping in order to save money and pack lunches for the two of you.
• You've heard about Sam's Shop from the ADeuce. Since the shop has almost everything a student needs, you decided to stop by on the way home and shop there.
Sam: "Hi there! Oh, you must be the monst-- I mean, Bear I've heard about so much! Welcome to my shop! If you need anything, just ask me."
Ice Bear: "...Ice Bear needs food."
Sam: "Aha! Then that'll be on that aisle over there. Anything else?"
Ice Bear: "Nothing. Ice Bear says thank you."
Sam: "Hahaha! You're one funny bear!"
Ice Bear: "?"
• You didn't mind Sam's comment and just strolled through the aisles. You take a nearby shopping bag and fill it with all the things you need for this month as long as it fits your budget. You spot a can of tuna and thought of Grim, so you reached out for it. Your paw stopped after you feel a hand reaching for the can.
Ice Bear: "?"
Ruggie: "Wha..."
Ice Bear: "..."
Ruggie: "....."
Ice Bear: "......."
Ruggie: "...Uhh hey... You takin' that one?"
Ice Bear: *nods*
Ruggie: "Sorry but I really need this thing, y'know, and uh, this is the last can..."
Ice Bear: "..."
• You don't seem to show any movement of letting the can go, so Ruggie thought of two ways to get it. First way is to make up a convincing excuse...
Ruggie: "Look, I get how much you need the can but I have to get this can. You see, Professor Trein ordered me to fetch this for him so he can feed his cat, Lucius. And if I don't do it, he'll give me a failing mark... So please, could I have this?"
Ice Bear: "..."
• Your paw is still holding on to the can as well as Ruggie's hand. Ruggie awaited for an answer from you but you still won't let go. For some reason... You think that Trein is NOT the type of person that just abuses their status for his personal gain. You stared at Ruggie and your instincts tell you that he's tricking you. You take the can and apologized.
Ice Bear: "....Ice Bear is sorry for you."
Ruggie: "Wait, hey!... Ugh..."
• Welp, looks like the old sad excuse failed. Now there's only one way... Take and run for it!
Ruggie, pointing: "Hey look over there!"
Ice Bear: "?"
Ruggie: "Shishishi!"
• You looked at where Ruggie pointed and the hyena beastman saw an opening. He steals the can before you could react.
Ruggie, running: "Better luck next time!"
Ice Bear: "!"
• You ran after him but it looks like he has experience in running away more than you think. You ran to an aisle displaying pencils and pens. Quickly, you take three unsharpened pencils and threw them at Ruggie before he could ring up to the counter.
Ruggie: "Almost there-- ACK!"
• One behind his right knee, he slows down...
Ruggie: "H-hey... OUCH!"
• Next one at his hand, he drops the can...
Ruggie: "GAH!"
• Last one at the nape, he collapses...
Ruggie: "...Uhh...."
• You take the can after you send him a glare. Fortunately, Sam and the counter are two aisles away so he couldn't hear the commotion. You place your items on the counter and Sam handed your change.
Sam: "Thanks for shopping here! May I also interest you in these buy-one-take-one bags?"
Ice Bear: "Ice Bear is fine."
Sam: "Alright! Have a nice da-"
Ruggie: "Damn. All that for a tuna can?"
Ice Bear: "😠"
Sam: "E-excuse me, are you ok?"
Ruggie: "Yeah, this guy just got his hand on the last tuna can."
Sam: "Ah! Darn it, I forgot to restock those..."
• ... So yeah, another bad first impression but hey, after the whole Savanaclaw Trying To Cheat fiasco, you two actually managed to get along. Sometimes.
• That one time when you and him are partnered up for Chemistry class, you avoided him. Then you realize that you have zero knowledge on potion making which resulted in failure. Ruggie laughed and offered to teach you, only if you apologize and give him something in return. Although you labeled him as a 'scumbag thief' as Grim says, you don't want to have a failing grade. Reluctantly, you accepted.
• Ruggie happily chowwed down on the food you made for him. He's never eaten anything that good for a long time. Either you owe him or not, he'll steal food from you now. Good luck.
• If Ruggie owes you something, then it's going to be him handing you test answers from when he was a first year. Aside from giving him food, you also help him around Monstro Lounge. He keeps pushing you away from the kitchen to waiting duty because he doesn't want Azul or Jade see you cook. If they find out about your talent, that'll blow away his chance to get free food, now won't it?

A Not-So Flawless Robbery
Welp, I've been pretty hesitant to post this here thanks to my ✨anxiety✨ making me feel like the fic is bad and no good and that you're all gonna hate it, but I finally managed to work up enough courage to post it, sooo I hope you guys like it! (Btw CW for stabbing and blood)
It was the dead of night, in the middle of April. At this hour, most residents in the town of [Name unknown] found themselves fast asleep, resting comfily on their warm beds and wrapped up in their soft blankets as they slept the night away...
“Ooo, look at this~! What a neat little keychain~!”
... And then, there was Thin and Fat. Or Theobald (More commonly referred to as Teddy) and Carlos as they were actually named, at least in this particular universe anyway. These two wannabe robbers were currently a little down on their luck financially, so they decided that they were gonna have a go at burglary to try and obtain some things of value that they could sell. But, while looking for their house of choice, Teddy got distracted by a cute little bat keychain he had spotted nearby. Somebody must've lost it when walking by earlier.
“*Sigh* Yep, sure is Teddy, now come on!” Carlos shouted with an annoyed tone as Teddy quickly shoved the keychain in his pocket and apologized before running after his partner. Teddy had a tendency to get distracted by little things while he and his friend were trying to do something else, which, if his tone was any indication, was rather annoying to Carlos.
After a few minutes, the two of them eventually settled on a house. It wasn't a super fancy one or anything, but it was still decent enough to where there could be some valuables in it, so it seemed like a good pick for this Duo’s first time robbing a place. “Alright, let's do this...” Carlos said to Teddy before pulling out a lockpick.
Meanwhile, we can see that these two are not the only ones who were awake much later than they should’ve been, as within this particular house, a young, sweet girl is seen sitting on the floor of her bedroom. The girl had blue hair tied up in 2 sets of pigtails, her canine teeth are seen sticking out of her mouth due to her overbite, and she wore a purple dress with a spiderweb patterned poncho on top of. The girl’s name?
Bew.
Currently, Bew is sitting in front of multiple terrariums of varying sizes, each of which containing a different type of spider which also varied in size. She was speaking to these spiders like you would to your human friends, rambling on about the day she had to them. Obviously the spiders didn’t seem too interested in what she was saying to them though, since... Well, they’re spiders.
“Oh yeah! And a brand new episode of the Happy Fella show aired today as well! It was amazing!” Bew said with an enthusiastic tone, “It revealed some more stuff about Sad Guy, who's like, my favorite character of all time, so of course that alone made the episode super good to me! And the sweet moment he and Happy Fella shared near the end as well, OUGH, MY HEART COULD BARELY HANDLE IT!! Sad Guy revealing that he had trouble looking for the good in himself, and that he felt like others didn't like him for being him, and then Happy Fella reassuring him and helping him gain enough courage to go out to that party with him, IT WAS TOO CUTE!!”
Bew then kinda moves her gaze downwards for a moment, beginning to gently twiddle her thumbs as she did. “Y'know, sometimes I kinda wish I could have a friend like Happy Fella in my life... a fella who's always there to make me happy... I mean, of course I have all of you guys, and you all make me happy obviously... But... I don’t know, I just... I guess it'd just be nice to have a human friend I could chat with sometimes as well. And yeah, I know I have my older brother to chat with, but he's over at the station so much, and it'd be nice to have someone to talk to while he isn't around...”
Suddenly, Bew's conversation with her spiders came to a halt as she then heard the sound of the front door slowly creaking open. “Huh?” She whispered confused, before she then began to hear footsteps and the sound of people whispering to each other... and neither of them sounded like her brother, the only other person who lived in this house with her.
Oh no... no no no no no, not again. Please not again.
Bew's heart began to pound as she veeery slowly opened her bedroom door, where much to her horror, she saw 2 masked men roaming around their house in the dark, shoving things into their bags as they wandered around. Bew instantly began to hyperventilate slightly as she backed away from the door and began to panic, but she managed to pull herself together slightly after a moment.
No. No, this was not happening, she wasn't letting this happen again. She couldn’t let this happen again.
Gathering all of her bravery, Bew quietly snuck out of her room and tried to keep out of sight of the thieves. She considered making her way to her brother's room and waking him up, he was a cop after all and as such had lots of experience in dealing with bad guys, but the intruders were too close to his bedroom door to get there without them noticing, and she wasn’t willing to wait around and pray to god that they moved away. She wasn’t gonna risk letting them enter her brother's room and hurt him. She was gonna have to fend them off by herself.
Bew quickly snuck into the kitchen and pulled out a knife from the knife rack. Her hands shook a little bit as she took a few deep breaths, staring at the knife as she tried to reassure herself before she headed back to the living room and stared at the larger of the two intruders. *Ok, you can do this Bew, you can do this. Just run up to them and attack...*
Bew then shakily lifted the knife up, took a deep breath, ran towards the intruder, and-
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!”
Carlos flinched and jumped a bit as he suddenly heard his partner let out a giant, pained scream. “Dude, what the Hell!?!” Carlos grew an angry expression and tone of voice as he turned to his partner, assuming that he had just seen a bug or something and freaked out. “You’re gonna get us caught, you-”
Carlos’ angered expression quickly turned into one of horror as he watched his partner violently shaking his leg, trying to get Bew off as she held onto him, the knife planted into Teddy's leg. “GET IT OFF!!! GET IT OFF OF ME!!!”
Bew quickly yanked the knife out of Teddy’s leg before stabbing him again in a different spot, making Teddy scream in pain again. Before Bew could stab him a third time, she lost her grip on Teddy’s leg as he finally managed to kick her off, knocking her a small distance away from him as he stumbled onto the ground, his leg now in a great deal of pain as blood trickled down it.
“JESUS CHRIST!!” Carlos shouted as he kneeled down next to his injured partner, and then over to Bew as she quickly stood back up and grabbed the knife off the floor, before starting to approach them again. “W-Waitwaitwaitwait, kid, stop!! P-Put the knife down!!”
“Why should I!?” Bew shouted, still trembling a bit. “I-I know why you two are here!! You’re here to hurt me and my brother, aren’t you!? W-Well I won’t let you!!”
“Nonononono, we aren’t!! W-We promise we aren’t!!” Teddy said, his body also trembling a bit.
“Then why are you here?” Bew asked, causing the thieves to begin desperately stuttering as they tried to think of an excuse that wouldn’t end with them getting chased around the house with a knife.
“Uhhh- W-We just, uhhh- W-W-We’re here... t-to be your friend! Y-Yeah, that’s it! We just wanted to be your friend!” Teddy blurted out in a panic. Wasn't the most convincing lie in the world, but he couldn't really think of anything better in the stress of the moment.
Luckily though, it still seemed to do the trick, as Bew lowered the knife down a bit upon hearing that, seeming to be a bit surprised by that response. “... You want... to be my friend...?”
“Uhhh, yep!” Carlos responded as he nervously played along, also unable to think of anything better, “Just wanted to get friendly with you, that's all!”
“But how do I know you aren't lying to me?”
"C-Cus we... we uhhh... Oh! Cus we even got you a gift! Y-Y'know, just so we could start off on good terms!" Teddy then reached into his pocket and pulled out the bat keychain from before. Seems like Teddy getting distracted by the keychain earlier was a good thing after all, as it seemed to do the trick in getting the girl to calm down. She continued to slowly approach the two, still holding the knife, but not pointing it at them anymore.
“You... You got me a gift...?” Bew asked softly as she reached out and grabbed the keychain from him, “Y-You even knew to get me a bat one... those are one of my favorite animals...! Thank you...!”
Bew then slid the keychain into the pocket of her dress. She looked so happy now, like Teddy's gift had really touched her... which honestly made him feel rather guilty since he knew he didn't actually get it for her...
“I guess you two seem pretty nice... So we can try to be friends.” Bew then set the knife down on the ground, no longer seeing the two as a threat. Bew then looked at Teddy's bleeding leg as he winced and teared up a bit in pain. “O-Oh yeah, sorry about that...” She said with some guilt in her voice, “H-Hold on, I think we've got something that can help! Just wait there!”
Bew then ran over to a nearby closet and looked through it for a moment, before pulling out a first aid kid and running back over to Teddy. She then pulled out a roll of gauze bandages from the kit, asking Teddy to roll up his pant leg before beginning to wrap the bandages around the wounds.
“There we go, all better!” Bew said after she finished wrapping up Teddy's leg. She then went to put the kit back into the closet as Carlos helped a limping Teddy get over to the couch, which the two then took a seat on.
“Ok, now that things are calmer, we should probably get each other's names!” Bew said as she walked back over to the thieves. “My name is Bew! Bew Redips! What about you two?”
“Oh, uhhh, we’re-”
“Carlos and Theobald! But you can just call me Teddy if you like!”
For the sake of not making Bew suspicious of them again, Carlos didn’t say anything to his partner, but on the inside he was screaming at him. He didn’t want to give Bew their actual names, just in case she ended up giving their information to a cop or something later, but clearly that thought didn’t cross Teddy’s head as he happily gave this random kid they just met who was living in the same house they were currently trying to rob their identities!
“Ok, Teddy and Carlos! Got it! Would you two like me to get anything for you? Like a drink or something?” Bew smiled warmly at the two of them as she waited for a response.
“Y-Yeah, sure! A drink would be nice.”
Bew then headed off to the kitchen to get them both a drink, leaving them by themselves for a moment.
“... Huh. Well I'll admit, that was actually pretty smart of you, Teddy.” Carlos whispered, “Using the keychain as a gift to get her to trust us. Good job.”
“H-Heheh, yeah, t-thanks...” Teddy was trying to choke back his guilt as he spoke.
“However, I unfortunately can’t say the same thing about GIVING HER OUR ACTUAL IDENTITIES, YOU IDIOT!!!” Carlos’ tone suddenly changed completely, causing Teddy to get started and jump back a bit. “WHAT IF SHE GIVES OUR NAMES TO THE POLICE OR SOMETHING LATER!?!”
“I-I’m sorry, Carlos, I- I-I didn’t really think about that!!”
“*Sigh* Whatever, it’s done now, so let’s just hope that she doesn’t say anything... In the meantime, let’s just keep playing along with this whole “friend” thing for now. She’s gotta get tired and fall asleep eventually...”
After a few minutes, Bew returned to the living room holding a few mugs. “Here you go!” She said as she handed the mugs to the two of them. Upon grabbing them, the two could feel that the mugs were pleasantly warm to the touch, and they could also feel a faint warmth hit their faces as they held the mugs beneath them. “I decided to make you guys some Hot Cocoa! I hope you two like it!”
“Ooo~! Thank you so much!” Teddy said excitedly before blowing on the cocoa a bit and taking a sip. It tasted amazing... It was definitely some of the best cocoa he'd ever had. “Mmmm~! Wow, this is amazing~!”
“Thanks! I used some of my homemade cocoa powder to make it!”
Teddy quickly gulped up the rest of the delicious cocoa while Carlos just kinda stared down at his own cup. In all honesty, he wasn't the biggest fan of sweet stuff, so once Teddy was done with his cocoa, he went ahead and let him drink his cup as well.
“Well, at least one of you likes it!” Bew said before hopping onto the couch next to them. “Sooo... What should we do now? Do you guys just wanna... chat for a bit, or something?”
“Sure! That sounds nice! What do you wanna talk about?”
“Uuuuuhh, I'm not too sure...” Bew tried to quickly think up a conversation topic. “Hmmm... Oh, I think I got something! Do either of you guys like the Happy Fella show?”
Teddy let out a gasp of excitement as his pupils grew wide, “OOOO YES, I LOVE THAT SHOW~! Did you see the newest episode?”
“Oh heck yeah I did!! Was it completely amazing or what!?!”
Bew and Teddy then proceed to just go on and on and on and on about everything they liked about the new episode, then about how much they loved the show in general, then about their favorite character, then about other episodes that they enjoyed, etcetera. Carlos just kinda stared at them and sighed in annoyance as they went on, realizing that this night might end up being a lot longer than he had hoped...
..................................................
Several hours later, Carlos and Teddy found themselves slowly awakening, as Carlos had passed out due to the immense bordem he was experiencing, and Teddy and Bew ended up chatting until they were exhausted, and the two of them also fell asleep.
"Oh, good morning!” Bew said with a smile, having woken up about half an hour or so before they did.
“Wh... H-Huh...?” Carlos mumbled as Teddy leaned up and stretched.
“Mmmm... How, uh... How long have we... b-been asleep for...?”
“Long enough for me and Bew to wake up before you did.”
Carlos and Teddy's faces went blank, and they both simultaneously thought *OH FUCK*, as they found themselves directly in front of Bew's older brother, who definitely did not look very pleased with their presence.
“Guys, this is my older brother Jace!” Bew said enthusiastically to the thieves, “He's, like, super cool! One of the coolest people on earth probably! He fights bad guys and throws them in jail for a living!”
Carlos and Teddy grow even more nervous as they realize they had not only broken Into someone's house and gotten caught, but by some horrific luck, they had broken into the house of a COP. They were so screwed and they knew it.
“Bew... Do you think you could go into your room for a moment...?” Jace asked his little sister, who nodded before heading back into her room, leaving the thieves alone with her brother...
“... Uhhh... N-Now please wait a second, we swear it’s not what it-”
“Yes. Yes it is.” Jace interrupted, “Nobody is breaking into a house in the middle of the night with ski masks on because they wanted to be friends with someone they’ve never even seen before. I’m not stupid.”
“A-Are you gonna throw us in jail...?”
“I probably should, but I’m not going to. I do not wanna start off the day by making an arrest. Besides...” Jace gestures to the gauze bandages on Teddy’s leg, which were visible through the holes that the knife had made in his pant leg. “I think getting stabbed in the leg with a knife was punishment enough. Speaking of which...”
Jace goes to the closet for a moment and soon comes back holding the roll of bandages Bew had used last night, which he then handed to Teddy. “Just go ahead and take this with you. You’ll need to change the bandages once or twice a day until the wounds heal.”
“O-Oh, uh, thank you.” Teddy said as he grabbed the bandages from Jace.
“You’re welcome. Now please get out of my house. I need to get Bew ready for school and myself ready to go to the station.”
Carlos helps Teddy stand up and walk over to grab their bags-
“And leave the bags.”
Teddy and Carlos leave their bag’s in the house as they go to the door and exit, Jace closing and locking it behind them.
“... W-Well... That could’ve gone a bit better...”
“Oh yeah, ya’ THINK?!” Carlos shouted before groaning in annoyance. “God, that was embarrassing! First you got stabbed by a child, then we both passed out, and then we found out that the house we broke into belonged to a COP of all people, and we didn't even end up leaving with any-” Carlos cuts himself off as he takes a deep breath to try and calm himself down. “You know what... Whatever. It's fine. Let's just go home...”
Carlos continues to help Teddy walk as the two of them make their way back to their house... However, Teddy couldn't help but glance back at Bew's house before it went out of view.
Even if they weren't there for very long, and even if she did kinda... stab him in the leg, that girl was honestly pretty nice once she calmed down, and she was definitely really fun to talk to. It wasn't very common for him to find someone he connects so well with... Most times when he tried to talk to people in the past, whether it be about things he liked or just about himself, it always seemed like the other person was barely listening, just waiting for him to shut up. Heck, even Carlos, who was supposed to be his best friend and someone he personally viewed as a brother figure, was often guilty of that... but not Bew. It genuinely seemed like she was listening to him... like she was really enjoying chatting with him... and because of that, he honestly couldn’t help but feel a little bad that he couldn't even properly say goodbye to her before they left...

Hii for the prompt game I was wondering how #74 4 and #75 8 would end up like. I have no idea how this could play into a drabble so this might be a bit challenging (idk you seem very imaginative you got this!) and for the sake of my curiosity the pairing could be ot8 or one/pair of your choosing!
SKZ PROMPT GAME
Prompts: "Tell us a fun fact about yourself." "Here's another idea; why don't you just tell me to shoot myself? It'd be less painful."
"Does anyone else remember-" "No." "Let me rephrase...does anyone else here, except those with amnesia, remember"
Members: OT8
Relationship: Camp Counselors FemReader x OT8
Genre: Fluff, Crack
"Oh god." You groan, heaving your duffle bag on to the bed, leaning over to catch your breath. Your lungs feel like they're on fire. "I don't know how you talked me into this."
Another bag thumps down next to yours, and you glare at your friend, dusting her hands and looking like she hasn't even broken a sweat, the perfect picture of summer camp in her crop top and short shorts.
"C'mon, (Y/N)." She pats you on the back with a grin. "It'll be fun."
"Fun is subjective." You grumble under your breath, as Jennie hops off to inspect the rest of the cabin, making sure the bunk beds are ready for your prospective campers.
She straightens one of the quilts, and nods her head in satisfaction.
"Now c'mon!" She calls, voice entirely too bright and hair entirely too perfect to have just hiked up the same hill you did. "There's a counselor meeting in ten minutes!"
You heave a sigh, and with one last forlorn look at your bag sitting pathetically in the middle of the bottom bunk, you follow Jennie back out into the hot, summer afternoon.
********************************************************************************
"It looks like we have a few new faces this year." The head counselor is saying, glancing around your gathered group, sitting on the long, uncomfortable benches lined up in the mess hall.
You slap at a mosquito and really wish the sweat running down your back would stop.
You glance to the side, and Jennie is sitting up straight, paying rapt attention to the man at the front.
He is attractive, you'll give him that. Well, in a sort of wild, woodsy kind of way.
Curly, unruly hair, dimples, dark eyes, an accent to swoon for. Not to mention, you're pretty sure you caught a flash of some sort of tattoo on one of his biceps peeking out beneath his camp shirt.
"So, we're going to split up into a few smaller groups, and introduce ourselves, have a little fun getting to know one another." The guy is saying now, and your stomach instantly drops.
Welp, he just became a whole lot less attractive.
He claps his hands with a wide grin that crinkles his eyes. "Under your seats, you should find a welcome package-it contains instructions, rules, schedules, your counselor shirt, and a number. Go ahead and pull on your shirts and then split up into groups according to your number."
Everyone rustles around and starts to move, some of the guys tugging their shirts off over their heads instantly, and you roll your eyes, turning to Jennie, who is slipping the overly large t-shirt over her head.
"I thought this kind of kumbaya shit was reserved for the twelve year olds." You huff out beneath your breath, glancing down at the obscenely bright orange shirt sitting in your lap, the words 'COUNSELOR' painted across the front in ridiculously large letters.
Jennie slaps you lightly. "Just participate, will you? Try it. You might have fun."
"I doubt that." You roll your eyes once more and tug on one of Jennie's long dark braids, making her yelp, before you finally move to slip your own shirt on.
She glares at you, then holds up her number. "I'm three. What are you?"
You shuffle around till you find the card, and with a groan, hold it up for her to see. "Two."
She pats you sympathetically on the back with a bitten back grin. "Good luck, bestie."
She stands and moves to her group.
With a heavy, resigned sigh, you do the same.
Settling in to a corner with the other twos, you're disgruntled to see that you're the only female counselor in your group, not to mention, overly peppy leader Australian Bear Grylls from earlier is settling into a seat beside you.
Great, just your luck.
The other groups start talking, the murmur filling the room, and soon, people are laughing and talking and playing the designated games as they get to know each other.
Or 'bond' or some shit.
You settle back into your chair and don't say a word, eying the guys that make up the rest of the circle.
They're all hot, to be fair, nice eye candy, but dressed in their orange identical shirts, they look like prisoners waiting for group therapy to start.
You snort and stifle a laugh.
Leader guy claps his hands and smiles, glancing around at all of you, eyes lingering on you for a moment before he moves on.
"How about we start with names and what year counselor you are?" Leader guy gives a little cheesy wave. "I'm Chan. This is my sixth and final year."
Your eyes widen slightly as you take him in. Six years? God, you really hope you don't get stuck here that long.
The guy to the leader's left raises his hand with a smile. "Hi, I'm Yang Jeongin. This is my second year at Camp Stay."
Everyone echoes hellos, though they all seem to be familiar with each other already, and Chan slaps a hand onto the younger man's back, bobbing his head.
The next guy-beefy, nearly straining the sleeves of his neon t-shirt-gives a little sigh and rolls his eyes, before he glances around the circle.
"I'm Seo Changbin. Fifth year counselor."
You stare at him for a little too long, and his gaze flickers curiously to you. You flush and look away.
Chan grins at the bigger guy, and you see him shoot him a sharp look of annoyance, as if he already knows what's coming.
They must be friends, probably started first year as counselors together.
"Tell us a fun fact about yourself." Chan says, motioning to Changbin with a flick of his fingers and a slightly wicked smile. He arches a brow, clearly waiting.
Changbin holds his ground, staring him down, expression unreadable.
"Here's another idea; why don't you just tell me to shoot myself? It'd be less painful."
The guy to your right cackles at that, and Chan shoots him a warning look, but it doesn't make him stop.
Changbin huffs and crosses his arms over his broad chest, slumping back down in his seat, turn clearly over.
The next guy is stupidly pretty, and you find yourself staring again, tracing the slight pattern of freckles on his nose and cheeks, the way his large dark eyes express all his emotions at once.
He reaches up to push some long blonde hair behind his ear, and you note that he has a french braid along the crown of his head, holding back the hair from his eyes.
"Lee Felix." He says with a soft little smile and a wave, and you note that his accent is similar to Chan's. But his voice is ridiculously deep, vibrating through your body and making you salivate. "Third year."
The guy next to Felix loops an arm around his neck, tugging him closer as he grins at the group. "Hwang Hyunjin. Also a third year."
The next guy rolls their eyes at their antics, pushing a hand through his dark, perfectly combed hair, before he says in a bored tone, "Kim Seungmin. Fourth year counselor."
All eyes turn to you, and with a start, you realize it's your turn.
Sitting up, you clear your throat and say, "(Y/N) (L/N). First year at Camp Stay. But I don't know if it actually counts, because my supposedly best friend dragged me here against my will."
The guy on your right, the one who had laughed earlier at Changbin's joke, leans over, large, dark eyes wide and interested.
"Who's your friend?"
You glance at him, taking in the heart shape of his face, the dozens of hand woven bracelets around each wrist, the doe eyes and long lashes you wish you had.
God, is everyone here just on the off season for modeling or what?
"Jennie Kim."
Camp leader guy-Chan-nods enthusiastically, eyes lighting up. "Oh, we love Jennie! She does a phenomenal job, all the female campers always request her."
"Great." You mumble, sliding back down in your seat.
Doe eye guy leans in to your space, murmuring under his breath like he's telling you a secret, "She's also got a killer ass. Nice to look at on hikes."
You bite back a laugh and he grins, sitting back up.
"Han Jisung." The guy immediately goes into his introduction. "Fourth year counselor and the best Camp Stay has ever seen."
"I'd argue with that." Changbin mutters under his breath from across the circle, and Jisung shoots him a glare.
"As would I." The guy sitting on Jisung's other side deadpans, and Jisung turns, mouth agape and expression dramatically wounded.
"Hyung! How could you say something like that?"
"I never lie." The other guy-sharp features, gorgeous cheekbones-says dryly with a smirk, and fuck, if it's not the most attractive thing you've seen in a while.
The wilderness must already be getting to you.
Obvious model man sits back, staring down the rest of the circle with an unreadable expression and sharp eyes. "Lee Minho. Fifth year."
You'd place bets on the fact that Chan, Changbin, and Minho all started together.
Fuck, the campers-female and male alike-must have had the time of their lives with all the eye candy that year.
"Cool, so that's everybody." Chan claps his hands once more, and like you, Changbin looks ready to leap forward and rip them off his body if he does it one more time. "I assume everyone found their cabins?"
There are a few silent nods, and Chan grins. "Perfect." He looks down at his watch. "The campers will be arriving in about half an hour. What say we get hyped?"
Beside you, Seungmin groans.
********************************************************************************
"I'm gonna place bets that you've never fished before."
"Really?" You huff, squinting up at him, outlined by the dropping sun, sticking yourself once again with the stupid little hook and dropping the wriggling worm onto the dock with a curse under your breath. "What gave it away?"
"Well first off-" Chan crouches down beside you, picking up the worm trying to escape and carefully taking the barbed hook from your bleeding fingers. "You're holding the worm like it will bite you."
You make a face as he easily puts the worm on the hook. "You don't know that it won't."
Chan laughs, handing you back the now baited fishing pole, and you take it reluctantly, still staring at the wriggling worm with some sort of macabre horror.
"They don't have teeth. So, pretty sure you're safe."
He sits down beside you on the edge of the dock, and you can feel him watching you from the corner of your eye, staring at the fishing pole limp in your hands, before he huffs a little chuckle and leans over to place his hand over yours.
You start, but let him show you how to cast the line into the water, the little bobber bobbing on the waves created by the campers swimming and playing just down the beach.
"There." He says with obvious satisfaction, removing his hand from yours and sitting back, leaning on his elbows as the last few rays of the sun slant across his face.
You hold incredibly still, because you're suddenly worried that you'll scare the fish away if you move.
Yeah, 'the fish.'
You sit in silence for several minutes, enjoying the atmosphere of the lake, the sound of the kids laughing and splashing, and when you look to Chan, his eyes are closed, face upturned to the sun.
He cracks open an eye, and you quickly look away.
"I don't think we're going to catch anything." His voice is close to your ear, low and his breath warm, and you jump, turning to see that he's in your space now, his brown eyes flecked with gold this close.
You swallow and wet your lips.
"Probably not. A waste really."
His eyes flicker down your face to your lips, and it takes everything in you not to bolt. "Maybe not a total waste."
You hold your breath as he inches closer, and then, a splash of cold water hits your legs and you shriek, scrabbling back from the edge of the dock.
A wet, dark head of hair appears, and Jisung laughs so hard you think he might choke, treading water at the edge of the dock as you glare down at him.
"Jisung!"
"Sorry." He snickers, but he doesn't look sorry in the least. "You just looked a little too dry for a swim day, ya know?"
Chan sighs and begins to pack up the fishing equipment, and you move to help him as Changbin appears, dripping lake water onto the wood, a towel wrapped around his waist, feet stuffed into sandy flip flops.
You try not to stare too long at the way his bared, bronzed chest ripples with his movements.
"Fucking kids." He grumbles beneath his breath, shaking out his drenched hair, curly now that it's wet, hanging heavily over his brow. "One rule."
You stare at him curiously, noting that he has a tattoo on his own bicep much like the flash of the one you'd seen on Chan the first day. "What's the rule?"
Jisung does an easy backstroke around the dock and back, staring up at the appearing stars while he floats on his back.
"Don't get pretty boy's hair wet."
Changbin glowers at him, and kicks a pebble off the dock in his direction, which Jisung easily avoids by ducking beneath the water.
"It gets unruly, okay? You wouldn't understand, but the curls-" Changbin protests, motioning to the mop of wet curls on his head helplessly. "I'll be untangling the fucking things for days!"
Jisung cracks up again, spitting water, and beside you, Chan huffs a chuckle beneath his breath.
"I'm sure Jinnie will let you borrow his hair products." He says, shoving the last of the tackle and bait into the box and closing it with a snap.
"I will do no such thing." Hyunjin appears, towel looped around his neck, dark hair looking flawless, like he just hadn't been swimming in dirty lake water for hours.
He and Jennie have the whole perfect, flawless human being even in the wilderness and you have no idea how the fuck they do it thing in common.
"C'mon, Jinnie. Help me out." Changbin whines, throwing an arm around Hyunjin's neck, putting him in a loose headlock as he tries to struggle away.
"No way, hyung. Let me go."
"Counselor Bang!"
You all glance up, Changbin releasing Hyunjin, at the sound of the voice, as one of the campers, a boy-Beomgyu?-picks his way unsteadily toward you down the beach.
He waves, as if you can't see him, and calls out, "We're ready to start the bonfire!"
Chan stands, waving back to the boy with a nod as he announces, "Okay, Gyu! Thanks! We'll all be right there!"
"Hey, Gyu!" Jisung calls, hopping out of the water and onto the dock with ease, water sloshing off of him in waves. The boy pauses and looks at Jisung curiously as he approaches him, slinging an arm around his shoulders. "Have you seen Counselor Seo's hair? It looks ridiculous!"
Changbin growls a sigh, and Hyunjin pats him on the back sympathetically.
"C'mon." Chan hides a grin, shooing you all toward the direction of the beach and the waiting campers. "Let's go supervise before they try to start a fire themselves."
********************************************************************************
You're warm and toasty, sitting close to the slowly dying fire, blanket wrapped around your shoulders, the night quiet.
All the campers are in bed, and it's just the counselors gathered around the remains of the bonfire now, roasting marshmallows and socializing in small groups.
Jennie waves at you from across the fire, looking up from her group for a moment, and you give her a little wave in return.
Minho sits down beside you, poker in hand, and begins to scrape at the red hot embers beneath the last burning log.
You give him a sidelong glance. "Not a marshmallow fan, I take it?"
Minho scoffs, but his focus remains on the fire. "Not a chance. I loathe most camp food actually."
You bite back a grin and hum beneath your breath, stretching your shoes out toward the warmth of the fire.
"Why do you stay?"
Minho lets out a long breath between his teeth, and then juts his chin off toward your left.
"Because I like that idiot."
Your eyes land on Jisung, making walrus tusks with some straws and making Jeongin laugh, and you smile, tilting your head, watching him for a moment, before you glance back to Minho.
"I get that."
Minho shifts, resuming his poking of the fire, and silence falls once more.
Your eyes are heavy, your limbs warm, when Minho mutters beside you, "Fuck. Not this again."
You blink a few times, stirring, and glance in the direction he's looking.
Jeongin, Seungmin, and Jisung are all setting up instruments beside the fire-Jeongin struggling with an overly large keyboard as he tries to get the legs on even ground, Seungmin and Jisung toting guitars around their necks.
"What-" You start to say, and Minho shakes his head.
"Fucking campfire songs. Why we do this every fucking year-" He grumbles beneath his breath, pushing himself up and disappearing god knows where.
Probably out of hearing distance of the music.
You're almost tempted to follow him, but Chan takes his place instantly, Felix sliding in on your other side, sandwiching you on the log.
"So." You say, trying to ignore the warmth of their arms brushing your own. "Campfire songs."
"Yeah." Felix laughs, shaking his head, watching Jisung tune his guitar and lead the other two in a silly little ditty of warm ups. "Tradition."
Chan grimaces slightly as Jeongin hits a screeching out of tune note on the keyboard, before he glances to you and shrugs helplessly, repeating Felix's earlier statement, "Tradition."
Changbin appears then, looming behind you all, a look of regret on his handsome features.
You glance up at him, and he purses his lips, eyes on the trio across the fire, leading some of the other groups in a terribly off key rendition of "Hot Cross Buns."
"It's honestly so sad. We should stop them."
Chan chuckles, reaching for a marshmallow and a roasting stick. "Let them have this, Bin. They love it."
"And I hate it." Changbin mutters beneath his breath with a arched brow in your direction as you laugh.
"I dunno. They're getting better?" You question, wincing slightly as the string of a guitar snaps and a wrong note shrieks.
"Not even the patron saint of summer camps could make those fools any better." Hyunjin remarks with a look of obvious disgust, sliding onto the end of the log next to Felix, his arm going around the other boy's waist.
"There's a patron saint of summer camps?" You ask with a laugh, and Hyunjin nods, face serious.
"Of fucking course there is."
"It's her first year, Jinnie, be nice." Felix laughs, nudging the other boy in the side as he huffs and gives a shrug.
Behind you, Changbin winces as the band hits another off note. "Probably her last too, honestly."
"Oh my god." Felix claps his hands, sitting up suddenly, eyes bright. "Does anyone else remember-"
"No." Hyunjin replies instantly, boredly inspecting his nails.
Felix rolls his eyes good naturedly and keeps going. "Let me rephrase... does anyone else here, except those with amnesia, remember-"
You tune out the rest of his words, staring in shock at Hyunjin, who still looks entirely too pretty and entirely too nonplussed to be here.
"You have amnesia?"
Hyunjin looks up, shrugging casually.
Chan laughs beside you, and leans in to your space, and his warmth against your back is warmer than the fire could ever be.
"Stick around for next year, newbie, and maybe we'll tell you that story."
You glance back at him, dark eyes flecked with gold, bronze skin glowing in the light of the fire, lips curved into a smile, and then down at your obnoxiously orange shirt with the overly large words COUNSELOR stamped across the front.
Suddenly, the mosquitos and the smoke and the cold lake and the dozens of rebellious twelve year olds don't seem like such big problems anymore.
"Yeah." You agree, hiding a smile of your own, as you turn back to Felix and Hyunjin's bickering. "I just might."
********************************************************************************
2 Years Later.....
"Okay, everybody settle down." You call out, motioning for the sea of orange shirts to find seats in the chaos of the mess hall.
Once everyone is mostly settled, you put on your biggest smile and spread your arms wide.
There are a couple of wolf whistles from the wings belonging to Jisung and Hyunjin, but you steadily ignore them.
"I'm Head Counselor (Y/N). Welcome to Camp Stay."

currently at episode 5 of the live action series and here's my spoiler free thoughts so far:
1. the show really nailed the core casts. they really lucked out with casting iñaki as luffy (my boy ordered milk at baratie. milk. welp he's so cute) and emily's nami's anxiety and angst just jumps out. also taz's sanji got me swooning every time he opens his mouth 💕
2. the sets are gorgeous. baratie is very well constructed and going merry looks kinda cool
3. the lighting is bad at times and I wish the director would let us see shit (the fight with a certain clown got me straining my eyes sighs)
4. fighting sequence can be a little funny but hey, that is the goal of the series? I remember reading an interview with Oda that he wanted his main character to have a funny power and he thought a stretchy rubber guy is fun
5. I was a bit worried about the pacing of the show but it doesn't seem to be a problem at all. they've rewritten some parts of the story to smooth it out for the series without compromising the original
6. some of the side characters can be a bit of a hit and miss. really not digging shanks and mihawk in this one, sorry
this is ofc an opinion of a long time one piece fan so it might seem biased so I'm curious what a non-fan thinks about it

Tired. (2)
Welp...I’m not about to argue with this nutjob.
If he wants to rush towards his death, let him.
Don’t say that! I-
Makoto, enough. You know better than any of us that changing Kuripa’s mind is a heavy task.
You want to have faith in him, don’t you?
...
Yeah, I do...
Makoto, he did kind of just lob the damn thing across the park, so...it’s not like he’s lacking in brawn.
If you had that much strength, you could have shown it a little sooner you know?
Hah. And steal everyone else’s spotlight? I’m not so cold...!
You! Gah! You are INSUFFERABLE!
...
But...thank you...For everything.
You too. I owe you.
If you really think you owe me, pay me back by not dying. I’ll be annoyed if you do.
Come on. Let’s get out of here.
*Toko takes Akeru’s hand and carries Komaru on her back.
Kuripa! Thank you! Good luck!
Don’t mention it kid!
*Kuripa salutes them as they walk away.
...I still don’t trust you, but...I don’t have a choice. Katagiri is a much bigger threat than I anticipated.
Kurafto. For the good of all the people here, destroy that robot. Don’t you dare lose.
Hah! Now why would I EVER want to disappoint you?
...
*With a quiet snarl, Byakuya also rushes away.
...You are no longer a member of the Future Foundation, so there’s no need for you to take Byakuya’s orders, or anyone’s for that matter.
But I still see you as an ally, so naturally, I’ll take your plan into consideration.
If that’s how you want to spin it.
Let’s go Makoto. Kuripa can handle himself.
...I hope so...
*Makoto then leaves with Kyoko.
...
...
...Kuripa?
What?
...Remember how you kicked my ass back in the factory?
What, you think I’d just forget? I was traumatized dude, and I wasn’t even the one being beaten.
I know. But I want you to remember what you did to me.
And I want you to deliver TWICE as much punishment on that robot.
That’s the plan~ Speaking of which, you’re still recovering from then, so you should get to safety.
And Akamatsu...Thanks for the backup...and...I’m sorry.
Apology accepted.
Kaede! We should hurry!
Right!
*Kaede starts to head off with Mii-Yu.
I want to have a good long talk about all of this with you afterwards, but...I imagine Katagiri isn’t going to take your slight lying down.
And I’m far too expended of energy right now to really confront you...Not to mention a little terrified.
Terrified? Of me? Why would you be hehehehe...
*sigh* Same old Kuripa...always a riot.
It doesn’t matter. The point is I wish you luck. Don’t die.
I’m not planning on it.
Want me to support you?
No, I’m fine. Ngh...I think I need to get this wound patched up quickly though. My vision’s getting dizzy.
*Shuichi limps to safety.
Makoto is right though. That thing just molly-whopped all our asses.
I know how strong you REALLY are, so I’m not about to stop you or...tell you not to do this, but I still think you should have some backup.
If things go south, I’m counting on you to have my back. But for now, let a guy do what he’s gotta do. Let him MURDER a ROBOT.
Just...be careful, ok?
Careful? Pfft. Where’s the fun in that?
I’ll do what you asked and contact Nico immediately. She should be back in the clocktower by now and will get everyone to safety.
Good. Good luck, both of you.
Same to you, my friend.
*Kibin kisses Kuripa on the cheek, and then she and Rantaro back off. Kuripa turns around to see Sage Robot Hannibal X approach him.
“Telling your friends to leave you to die here? Seems you recognize your own weakness!”
They’re not my weakness Katagiri. They’re my strength.
‘Cause, y’know, whether they love me or hate me, at least they give a shit about me. That’s enough for me.
“Ah, I see. You’re an attention seeking sociopath! You know, the AETHER was designed to keep humanity alive forever, but...the world may not be a safe place so long as YOU are a part of it!.”
That’s rich coming from you, but I have nothing to say to that...All I’ll say is this...
*Kuripa reaches for his torn shirt and rips it off his body.
It’s time to do the thing you fear most...
...and DIE...!

Blooming Pt. 1
Pairings: Jisung x Reader, ft. nct dream, lucas (honorary member of dream)
Words: 7.5K
Warnings: Language (there is almost always language in my writings), angst, fluff
Synopsis:
Love isn’t as easy as it seems, Park Jisung is an advocate of that. A blooming relationship that has prematurely ceased can be re-sparked years later, or can it? Will Jisung be able to overcome his fears in order to succeed in what he deems love?
Part 1 | Part 2
Freshman Yr.
Hey Jisung,
I know that this is kinda random and I only have the guts to do this now because I probably won’t see you again but here goes. I think you are a really sweet and cool guy and I wish I had gotten to know you better, probably because I had a big crush on you... I just thought I would send this to you because I know it’s nice to know and it’s probably a little bit of a confidence booster. (I also kinda wanted to get this off my chest). Sorry for the essay and you don’t have to respond to this if it’s awkward … I hope you stay safe especially with what’s going on right now
You held your breath, panicking at the loading sign on your phone. Welp, it was too late now.
You were pacing back and forth in your living room, nail very much in your mouth as you bit them anxiously.
“I just sent it.” You breathed out, “Oh my god, I just sent it.” At this point you were nearly in tears you were so nervous.
“That’s good. It’s like one a.m. though, so don’t be too worried if he doesn’t answer right away.” You nodded into the receiver, and although your best friend couldn’t see you, she still understood your silence.
You had called your best friend earlier to ask for her advice about the guy you had told her about months ago. It was the last quarter of school for this year and you finally had the courage to confess to him.
Your best friend Megan was a little bit more experienced than you and she laughed when you had told her you wrote drafts, and you promptly sent it to her.
“He’s not writing back.” You told her, staring intently at the screen, refreshing it every few seconds as if that would make him answer.
“Well of course not, you literally sent it ten seconds ago. Besides I told you, it’s late, he might just reply in the morning.” She sighed at your panicked state.
“Oh my god! He read it.” You bit your lip, staring at the numbers below your text.
“Oh.” She giggled, “Cute, he has read receipts on like you.”
You barely had time to comprehend what she had said when you gasped out, “Oh my god. He’s typing, he’s typing! There’s bubbles.”
She laughed, “Wow, that was fast.”
You weren’t exactly paying attention to her, focused very much on the bubbles that were still there. Then suddenly they stopped.
“They stopped.” You felt the need to relay everything to her.
“That’s fine, he’s probably just reading over it.” You nodded, trying to convince yourself. But you couldn’t because nothing ever came. It was almost 25 minutes later that you heard the familiar ding of your phone.
Hey Y/N! thanks for letting me know, it really is not easy but rip coronavirus really is kinda messing with everything. i think you’re a really nice person and if circumstances would have allowed, i would have wanted to get to know you more too. everything is kinda hectic rn and i wish you the besttt and stay safe too!!
Immediately you called Megan again. “It doesn’t look good…Listen to what he said.” You read the text, heart dropping with every word you read.
“What are you talking about? That’s a good thing. Y/N he said he wants to get to know you better too. That’s sweet. I think he’s just keeping it open though, cause there’s not much you guys can do anyways.”
“Yeah.” You tried to not let out how dejected you were, but it was clear to her.
“Hey don’t worry about it. If he doesn’t like you then he’s not worth worrying over.”
“Right.” You pouted despite what she said making sense. “Look I’ll call you later, I’ve got to go now.”
“Okay, Y/N, don’t stress too much about it, okay?”
You hummed back, mumbling out your goodbyes.
The moment you hung up, you threw your phone on the bed, falling next to it. You sighed, trying not to overthink everything.
That’s why you confessed now, so that if you were so badly rejected, you wouldn’t have to see him again. Right?
You groaned, closing your eyes, hoping that sleep would make you feel better. Or perhaps you would wake up and find that this was all a dream.
You woke up and of course with habit, the first thing you did was look over at your phone. You rubbed the sleep out of your eyes, grinning at the screen.
You weren’t thrilled that it was in reality a dream, but on the other hand things had become very real very fast.
NOTIFICATION
Park Jisung 5:18 a.m.
oh, are you still going back to school next year?
You smiled at the text, heart immediately choosing to beat faster than you would’ve liked. With a glance at the clock you realized it was 8:07 a.m. and you couldn’t stop yourself from replying the moment you saw it.
yeah, i’m planning on living off campus tho… are you gonna live off campus too?
You panicked, staring at the screen, knowing damn well that he wasn’t about to reply at 8 in the morning. You had to restrain yourself from calling your best friend that very moment, you were in a happy mood and waking her up would not keep that.
The entire day you were buzzing, constantly checking your phone for new notifications. For the first time you understood what phantom texts felt like. Every couple of minutes you were sure that you felt a text, but alas it was your imagination.
It wasn’t until 4 p.m. when a real text came through, ringing loud and clear. You had turned your ringer on and off, making sure that it was working just in case.
yup! I’ll be living by the shopping complex in downtown. how about you?
Restraint was not easy for you, and you replied after a few moments passed. Megan had constantly told you to let at least a few minutes pass, but you couldn’t help it. Besides, read receipts were not in your favor.
Conversation seemed to come really easy to you, and after an hour of texting non stop he said he had one more final to take.
You understood and immediately felt bad, realizing that you had taken up precious study time for him. You wished him good luck and spent the rest of the night relaying every detail to Megan over the phone.
Little did you know that that conversation would be the last for a long time.
3 months later
It was time for a break. And what better way was there than a small kickback with your best friends after midterms?
“I brought the good stuff.” You were startled, laying on the daybed of your other friend, Camille’s room. It was the perfect spot for a kickback. A couple hundred feet from the main house, and completely stocked with all that you needed.
You sat up glancing at the armfuls of alcohol Megan had snagged, don’t ask how she got it.
You giggled at the thought, watching as Camille helped unload. “Let the games begin.”
“Truth or Dare Y/N?” You groaned, turning away from the both of them.
“You know I hate this game.”
Megan didn’t let up. “Camille has a pond.”
That was enough information for you. You took a glance out the window, noting that it was freezing outside. You were not taking a chance on her intentions. “Truth.”
“Boring.” She sang, but nevertheless had a question set. “Have you talked to that boy since the last time you called me about him?”
You grumbled to yourself, taking a shot and grimacing. “No.”
“Why not?” Camille asked, reaching for the bottle still in your hand.
You rolled your eyes. “I don’t know, I’m too much of a coward to text him now. But he could text me first too you know. Especially cause I took the first jump. It’s probably because he doesn’t like me.”
You sighed, staring at the bottle again, tempted to take another shot.
“I’m sure that’s not the case.” You missed the look Megan shot Camille, already coming up with a new idea.
In the end you caved, choosing that perhaps another shot could bring you happiness. But it just burned your throat.
“Megan truth or dare?”
“Dare, duh.” You watched the proud look on her face.
“I dare you to… snapchat that dude that sent dick pics to fuck off.” Camille said, watching Megan’s face contort into delight.
“Hell yeah! It would be my pleasure.” She giggled, and you noticed that she was feeling the alcohol as well.
You felt the need to roll your eyes again.
“Done. And blocked.” She tossed her phone in the middle of the group with satisfaction.
“I don’t know why you just didn’t block him right after he sent them.” You commented, chewing on a gummy worm.
She just shrugged, “I don’t know, it was kind of fun I guess. Anyways. Camille, truth or dare?”
“Truth.”
“Do you really only see Carson as a friend?” Camille sputtered at the question, spitting out a bit of juice.
“No, I see him as a brother. That’s disgusting, besides he’s dating Bailee.” She shook her head, working to clean up the mess.
“Doesn’t mean you can’t like him.” Megan muttered, before dropping it and turning back to you.
“Y/N truth or dare?”
“Truth.” You mumbled out, not really paying attention.
“Come on, do at least one dare. It’s not fun if you only answer truth.” She whined, pushing another cup of jungle juice towards you.
You hesitantly sniffed the cup before taking a sip. A moment of silence passed as they waited for you. You let out a deep sigh, “Fine, dare. What do you want?”
“I dare you to text him.”
You froze, you knew that’s what she was going to say, but you were so out of it that you let it slide.
“You know I can’t do that.” You answered, wide eyed.
“It’s a dare.” Megan nodded at the window, insinuating the punishment.
“No, I really can’t. I’ll give you my phone though, but I can’t do it.” You dug the phone out of your backpack and tossed it next to hers, which she grabbed immediately typing in your password that she had memorized.
“Deal. I’ll just start it, then you can keep the conversation going.” You waved her off, choosing to drown yourself in as much alcohol as you could in hopes of forgetting that this happened tomorrow morning.
“Done. I just sent hey, with like three y’s and a smiley face. Not the emoji though.” Your mouth dropped at her.
“That’s so not me though. You know I use emojis, and I don’t do the all, heyyyy thing. He’s gonna know.” She just shrugged, sliding the phone back to you.
You sighed, staring at the empty screen, the other two returning to the game.
But it was three minutes later when your phone dinged, a text from Jisung lighting up your screen.
“Is that him?” Camille asked, peeking over at the screen.
“Yeah. I don’t wanna read it though, you do it.” You pushed it away, pulling your knees into your chest.
“I got you.” Megan paused. “See. Guys like the hey thing. He did it back, I don’t know what you were talking about, he’s totally into you.”
You grinned, crawling forward to see for yourself. The phone dinged again seconds later.
“Ooh, that’s hot. I like it when a guy texts in multiple bubbles, it shows they just text you what they think. They’re not planning it out or anything.” Megan commented, already typing in a response for you.
You watched over her shoulder, glancing at Camille who was doing the same.
“Is this good?” You just nodded back, sitting back on your heels to take a break.
“Oh, wow. That was fast. He texted back.” Although she sounded impressed, she frowned at the text.
“What? What is it?” You asked, panicking at her expression.
“Nothing. He’s just… dry. Was he always a dry texter?” She asked, handing the phone back to you.
“No? I don’t know, I didn’t think he was dry, we texted for like an hour straight that one time.” You mumbled, looking at the phone disappointed.
“Well he seems pretty dry to me. Maybe you should text him, maybe you were right, my texting was too different from yours.” You bit your lip and nodded, trying to come up with a response to him.
You didn’t know if it was because you were drunk, or that he could tell you were drunk, but while the conversation did get slightly better, he seemed dry to you as well. It was after twenty minutes of texting that you couldn’t keep the conversation any longer. You became frustrated at the dwindling conversation.
You had chosen to contact him again after three months of ghosting each other, and now he was making it difficult to carry a conversation. Maybe he really doesn’t like you. You felt your face heat up in embarrassment. Fine, you thought, you weren’t reaching out anymore. You didn’t want to be seen as pathetic, you could catch a hint. He just didn’t like you and was being nice. If he did actually like you, he could reach out to you.
This didn’t stop you from thinking about him for the month following the drunken incident.
2 years later Junior Yr.
“I swear if you’re late for this one too, I’m not setting you up on anymore blind dates!” You winced at the sound of your roommate cursing at you.
“I’m going!” You yelled back, slipping out the front door before she had a chance to attack you again.
You managed to close door without hearing what ever else she had in store for you.
Your keys jangled as you quickly tried to lock the bright red door, giving it one last tug of reassurance when you turned on your heel to find your car.
“Oof!” A body collided with yours, you were partially, well mostly at fault.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. I should’ve paid more attention. It’s just, I was in a bit of a rush…” You trailed off, finally getting a good look at the other person’s face. “Jisung?”
He simply stared back with a blank look on his face, mouth hung slightly open. “Y/N?”
You hated how your heart quickened at the sound of your name from his lips.
“I-I… wow…” You stuttered out, not quite able to act as natural as you had hoped. “Do you live here?”
“Uh… yeah, I live next door.” He pointed to your left, and when you followed his finger sure enough it was right next to your apartment. You missed the way that he looked you up and down, gulping at the sight of you in years.
“Oh. Wow, what a coincidence, I guess.” You laughed out nervously, hands playing with your lanyard.
“Yeah.” He nodded back, not really making eye contact. Not that you were trying either.
“Well…”
“Yeah.”
There was an awkward silence between you two, and you cleared your throat to break some tension.
“I was actually on my way out, so… I’ve got to get going. But I’ll see you around.” You put on a fake smile that didn’t really reach your eyes, and shot him a wave before rushing off to your car. Once under the safety of your car, you sighed and tried to discreetly glance at the boy you hadn’t seen or thought of in years.
You shook your head, starting the ignition. It’s time to forget him, you told yourself, besides I’ve got a date waiting for me right now.
It wasn’t until Jisung was positive you could no longer see him, having driven off minutes ago, that he threw his head back and let out the deep breath he didn’t know he was holding. The blush he had been so desperately holding out finally came over his face, as he felt the heat burn his ears.
He had just begun to forget about you, from time to time, pausing over your conversation stream. Although it was torture, every once in a while he would read back all the texts, hating the way that they abruptly stopped. On occasion, mostly when he was drunk, but there were times when he was sober, he would even type out a text but fail to send it.
Jisung was never the outgoing type, he envied those who were. Those that could just strike up a conversation and carry on like it was second nature. But it was hard for Jisung. It took work and energy, and sometimes he didn’t have that. It was stressful and scary to Jisung.
It was a godsend when you reached out to him years ago, claiming so boldly your feelings for him. He wasn’t going to admit it, but then he had asked for his friends help in responding. It was Mark’s wishy-washy personality that had unbeknowingly sent your mind in circles that night.
It was Haechan’s straight-forward nature that had forced him to text you at 5 a.m. the next morning. He was tired of hearing about Jisung’s concerns as to why you didn’t reply earlier, complaining that if he was that worried just text her.
So he did.
And it worked.
It worked so well. That hour he had spent texting you had butterflies dancing in his belly. He had never felt happier or more connected than at that moment. It wasn’t until his alarm rang, notifying him that he had five minutes until his last final did he stop smiling.
He was more than disappointed when nothing came out of the conversation. Of course he knew that it wasn’t just your fault, after all he had a phone, he could text you too.
And he tried, he really did. Multiple times. But every text he drafted was soon deleted and so the conversation ran dry. That was until three months later, May 16th.
But you always seemed to catch him at a bad time. It was Saturday, but his professor had given him an extension on his paper and it was due at midnight.
Your first text came at 10:58 p.m.
It took all he had not to answer the text, and eventually he did cave. But as much as he wanted to focus on you he couldn’t, after all he had begged his professor to extend his deadline, he had to finish this.
Maybe that’s why this time you didn’t seem so responsive. Maybe that’s why this time it only took twenty minutes for the conversation to end.
Maybe that’s why, after it took him forty-five minutes to respond to your last text, you left him on read.
“What’s with the long face dude?” His best friend, and housemate asked, slapping his back passive-aggressively.
“Nothing. And I don’t have a long face.” He pushed back, shoving him softly out of the way.
“Who was that? At the front door?” Jaemin asked, shoving a cookie into his mouth.
“No one, just someone I knew.” Jisung muttered back, reaching out to steal one from the jar.
“Just someone I knew.” Chenle mocked back, leaning against the wall of the kitchen. “Right. We all could see the look on your face, that’s not just someone you knew.”
Jisung shrugged. “She was a girl I was texting.” He tried to pull it off nonchalantly, but it was evident to his housemates that it wasn’t nothing.
“Shit. Was that that girl you were talking to freshman year? The one you were head over heels for?” Jeno asked, grabbing a seat on a barstool, his laptop tightly in his grip. It was obvious he was working on something.
“Y/N?”Jaemin asked around the crumbs that filled his mouth.
“Ew. Gross. Have some manners dude.” Renjun said shoving Jaemin off the counter where he was perched, “And how many times do I have to tell you not to sit on the counter, that’s not sanitary. We have chairs for a reason.”
Jaemin made a face, but still moved to take a seat next to Jeno.
“Yeah.” Jisung frowned at the rest of the guys. “Did I make it that obvious?”
Renjun laughed, pulling a plate out of the cabinet. “You just talked about her everyday for a month. But no, not that obvious.”
“You should talk to her again, does she live close by?” Jeno asked, typing away at his computer.
“Yeah, she’s… uh… she’s our neighbor.” He rushed the last bit out, knowing that they would take advantage of the situation.
“Ooh! Our Jisung’s little girlfriend lives next door guys!” Chenle cackled out, “Guys, this is fate. And it’s our job to help out.”
Jisung scowled at him, knowing that Chenle meant what he said, “No. Guys leave her alone. Don’t make things weird. We’re going to be neighbors for the rest of the year, I don’t want to have to avoid her.”
“Avoid who?”
“Haechan, how many times did I tell you to give me that key back?” Renjun asked, narrowing his eyes at the boy.
“Too many.” Haechan shrugged, letting Mark close the door behind him. “You can have this one back though, I’ve got two more copies at my apartment.”
Renjun threw his hands in the air, “I give up.” He picked up his plate of leftovers, opting to sit at the bar next to Jaemin.
“Who are we avoiding though?” Mark asked, settling against the wall next to Chenle.
“Y/N.” Chenle said, giving Mark a knowing grin.
“Y/N? Wait isn’t that...?” Mark furrowed his eyebrows, sporting his signature confused face.
“Uh-huh.”
“Why are we avoiding her?” He asked, turning to Jisung, who had been awfully quiet.
“We’re not.” Jeno spoke up, finally shutting his laptop. “We just found out she’s our neighbor and Jisung doesn’t want us to do anything about it, cause he doesn’t want to avoid her.”
Haechan grinned, pulling out a glass and filling it up with water from the fridge. “So you still like her?”
“No.” There was an empty silence. “Yes.”
Jisung sighed at the commotion his confession caused.
“Well, don’t you think it’s our duty, as your friend, to help you out? After all, I feel like I am very invested in this budding relationship. I did help send the text that set things in motion.” Haechan boasted animatedly, accidently spilling some of his water, which he wiped up with this sock.
“No. I don’t think that it’s your duty. And please stay out of it?” He all but begged the rest of the boys. Much to his dismay, none of them looked like they were swayed.
Jaemin clapped his hands together standing up, “Okay, how about some neighborly cookies? Everyone likes cookies.”
Jeno rolled his eyes with a smile, but stood up anyways. “Sure I’m down, but no more of those peanut butter ones, those are shitty. Can’t we just do chocolate chip?”
Jaemin frowned, digging through the pantry cabinet. “You’re lucky we’re out of those. Chocolate chip it is.”
Haechan strolled towards Jisung, wrapping an arm around his shoulder, “How about we get drafting then?” He snorted, “I think a nice love letter should do it.”
Jisung shoved him away with more force than necessary, “Get off me. And no. Stop it with the love letter thing, I was drunk and sad okay?”
Mark butted in before the two of them would really start fighting, “Actually I don’t think that’s a bad idea. I think she’d like that, like, slip it in with the cookies or something. Just say you’d like to see her again, and hang out.”
Renjun stood up, placing his dishes in the sink, “Dude this is why Jisung sent mixed signals in the first place, ‘i’d like to see you again’, ‘let’s hang out’. Can you get any more confusing than that?”
Mark frowned and cocked his head, opening his mouth to retort, but Haechan beat him to it. “Then what would you say Renjun? ‘Oh how beautiful your eyes compare to a midsummer’s eve. May I court you this evening?’”
Renjun glared at him. “You’re not funny. And no. I was going to say, just tell her it was a missed opportunity. That you’d like to take her out on a date now that you can.”
Jisung shook his head violently at the sound of that. “How am I supposed to do that? That’s way too straight forward, what if she says no?”
“Dude, she likes you. Remember? She sent you that text. And if her feelings aren’t there anymore then… well… I don’t know. But the chances are low.” Jeno tried to reassure him, not doing a very good job of it.
Jisung sucked a breath in, ultimately letting out a hissing noise.
“Trust me on this one Jisung. I make a mean cookie, we’ll just head over there later today and rekindle whatever you two have.” Jaemin cooed at the boy with a big smile.
“Right. Like I can trust all of you.” He muttered to himself, choosing to escape to the confines of his room.
“So… how was it?” Your roommate asked expectantly, a far change from the way she was speaking to you earlier.
You shrugged, “I dunno, he was nice I guess.” You shook your head. “I don’t know why you guys are all pushy on this stuff. Like I get it, but it’s weird trying to date someone that I’ve just met you know?”
Your roommate Alex just shook her head, waving you off. “Whatever, so did you like him or not? Is there gonna be a second date?”
You laughed at her, she was way too invested in your non-existent love life. “I don’t know, I think so. He was sweet and stuff, but like I said it’s weird.”
“Well, that’s the furthest you’ve gotten so far.” You sent her a glare. “I’m just saying. You always either end up leaving the date, or never seeing them again.”
“Shut up, I don’t-”
You were cut off by the sound of the doorbell ringing. Alex and you exchanged glances, you weren’t expecting anybody.
She stood up, grabbing the bat next to the door, that your mother insisted you bring, ‘just in case’.
You huffed, moving past her, “You know, you could just look through the peephole.” You leaned forward squinting into the door, only to find a group of boys that seemed your age.
“Who is it?”
You pulled back, tilting your head, “I don’t know, just a group of guys.”
You unlocked the door, peeking out through the crack slightly, and you were greeted very enthusiastically by the boy in front.
“Hi!” He grinned, showing off a perfect set of pearly whites. He was waving very aggressively with his free hand, the other seemed to be holding a plate of cookies. “I’m Jaemin! We’re neighbors.”
After his quick introduction he shoved the plate towards you, never letting the smile leave his face.
“Uh… hi?” You weren’t quite sure what to say.
Luckily Alex did, “Hi, I’m Alex and this is Y/N. That’s so sweet of you.” She smiled back, taking the plate from you. “Do you guys want to come in? We can crack them open right now.”
You stepped back, watching the trail of six- no seven guys just stroll into your apartment.
“What the hell?” You muttered to yourself, closing the door softly behind the last boy.
“Hi Y/N.”
You looked up to see Jisung again, and you took a slight step back, startled at the sight.
“Jisung. Oh.” You barely let out.
“Sorry, we didn’t mean to overstep or anything. The guys just wanted to meet you… all. They wanted to meet all of you… cause you’re our neighbors, and all…”
You blushed realizing that he had heard you comment, completely ignoring the way that Jisung was stumbling all over his words.
Haechan took no time in introducing himself, and taking the honor of introducing everyone else as well.
“I’m Haechan, this is Mark, Jeno, Chenle, and Renjun. You already know Jaemin, and I’m aware that you already know Jisung.” He grinned proudly after gesturing to each of the respective boys.
“Jisung?” Alex asked, eyebrows raised. You hadn’t told her about him. For one, it never came up, and secondly, it’s not like it was anything important now. That was years ago, you didn’t feel the need to inform her of every detail of your life, like him.
Haechan cocked his head, “Yeah. You didn’t know they knew each other?”
You furrowed your brows at him. “And how do you know that?”
Jisung shyly raised his hand next to you, embarrassed that he was outed for spilling the details to his friends. “Sorry, that would be my fault.”
You turned slightly, mouth dropping at his face, “Oh. I didn’t mean it like that. I..I- That came out wrong. I’m not mad or anything, I was just shocked.”
You bit your lip feeling guilty about the way he responded.
“Anyways.” Jaemin interrupted the awkward silence. “We just wanted to say hi and stop by. Maybe we can all hang out and stuff and be neighborly.”
He grinned, looking around at the group.
“Right.” You nodded slowly, “Thanks for the cookies, and it was nice meeting you all.” There was a forced smile on your face, but none of the boys seemed to notice or care.
Eventually the boys filtered out one by one, and you closed the door, sighing against it.
“They were nice.” Alex said, taking a bite in a cookie. “Oooh, and these are hella good.”
“Yeah.” You mumbled, moving to sit on the couch.
“Why do you look like that? You don’t like them?” She asked, grabbing a glass for milk. “You and Jisung already know each other though. By the way, how do you know him?”
You rubbed your hand over his face. “It’s a long story.”
“Well, I have the rest of the day.” She sang back, taking a seat on the cushion next to you.
And so, now that Jisung was back in your life, you were left no choice to fill her in.
“Damn! That’s awkward as hell.” Her eyes were widened to the max.
“Yeah, I know. But I didn’t want them to feel super weird, cause you know, neighbors right? I just can’t believe my luck though.” You sighed leaning back, slouching down.
“Yeah, but do you like him though?” She asked, to which you whipped your head towards her.
“What?”
“Do you like him? I mean this could be really good for you. Actually it’s a win-win for everyone here. I can stop forcing you on blind dates and you can date the boy you’ve been pining after for years.” She shrugged like it was obvious.
“Okay, I have not been pining after him for years, and we’re not going to date just because I liked him two years ago. I mean, didn’t you get it from what I told you? He doesn’t like me.” You tried to shut her down.
“What are you talking about? Did you see him today? He couldn’t tear his eyes away from you.” You frowned at her observation. You didn’t remember it the way she did, every time you looked at him, which wasn’t that often, he was desperately trying to avoid eye contact.
“No he wasn’t.” You nevertheless blushed at the idea.
“Ooh, you’re blushing! Someone has a cru-ush!” She raised her voice, and you slapper her.
“Shut up, they’re right next door remember? They’re our neighbors.” She simply winked at you.
“And no I don’t.” You added as an afterthought.
The small restaurant was bustling with energy, something the boys loved.
“Dude, why haven’t we been here before?” Mark asked, eyes wide with excitement, smacking Haechan’s shoulder unnecessarily hard.
Haechan tried to move away from him, but to no avail.
“I told you, Jeno always said this place was pricey.” He muttered back, giving in when he realised Mark’s habit wasn’t disappearing anytime soon.
“We shouldn’t have trusted Jeno’s cheap ass.” Renjun snorted, “The prices here look decent.”
“Hey!” Jeno tried to defend himself. “I’m a college student, everything is expensive.”
Jaemin threw an arm over Jeno’s shoulder, trying to comfort him. “Let’s just grab a booth.”
As they trudged down the busy pathway, Jeno spotted a familiar face.
“Hey isn’t that Y/N?” Jeno asked, elbowing Jisung in the side. But Jisung was already aware of your presence, he had been the moment they stepped into the restaurant.
“Don’t point.” Renjun slapped the boy’s hand down.
“I wasn’t-”
“Shut up.”
“Wait… who’s that with her?” Jaemin asked the obvious, slurring his words at the end, as if just understanding the situation.
It seemed as if you were on a date, and Jisung’s heart dropped. It felt like his entire world came crashing down, like any and all hope he had in you went out the window.
Of course you would have a boyfriend, it’s been two years since you last talked, and it’s not like you were even an item. You texted for an hour.
Jisung closed his eyes for a second, but the picture was still searing in his brain. Hell, he wasn’t even sure if he told you that he liked you.
“I guess we didn’t think about that. That she could have a boyfriend.”
“Yeah, I mean it has been two years.” Mark nodded, agreeing with Jaemin.
“Guys, not helping.” Renjun said between gritted teeth.
Jisung bit his lip, silently running over the image of you.
Is that your boyfriend? How long had you been dating? Was it after he ran into you? If he asked you out then, would that be him?
He had so many questions he wanted answered, but he would never get them.
Chenle pulled his arm roughly, trying to drag him into the booth. “Jisung you’re staring. Try not to make it so obvious.” He teased.
Jisung quickly averted his eyes, choosing to sit where he could watch you from his seat. His stomach felt queasy, maybe that was a bad idea. Suddenly he lost his appetite at the sight of you smiling so widely at something funny your date had said.
Mark glanced up from his menu, staring at Jisung who was now downing his water. He elbowed Haechan who was concentrating on the menu.
“Dude, say something.” He hissed at him, trying to get Haechan to lift the mood. But for some reason, today of all days, he wasn’t having it.
Haechan just shrugged, shaking his head, “What do you want me to do?” Then he went back to his menu.
Mark bit his lip nervously, feeling uncomfortable at the sight of Jisung so anxious. He shot a look at Renjun who understood and at least tried to spark up conversation.
“So Jeno, who’d you come here with again?” He asked, an attempt at diverting attention from the elephant in the room.
“Uhh… some girl…” Jeno mumbled back, blushing furiously.
“Jeno’s blushing!” Chenle shouted out, his loud voice carrying across the restaurant.
This had Jisung cracking a smile.
“Dude, not so loud.” Jeno groaned out, sinking into his seat. He turned to glare at Renjun, “Did you have to bring that up?”
Renjun shrugged, but sent a small apologetic smile. ‘Sorry’ he mouthed at the embarrassed boy.
You had Chenle to thank for alerting you of the group’s presence. You pulled away from your conversation with Lucas and craned your head to get a glimpse of your neighbors.
“Do you know them?” Lucas asked, following your gaze.
“Oh, yeah, they’re my neighbors.” You said back, tearing your eyes from their booth.
“Yikes, they’re kind of loud.” He chuckled, “That must be rough on you.”
You gave him a smile, accompanied by your own giggle. “Lucas, in case you didn’t notice, you’re loud.”
He let out a fake gasp, holding his hand against his chest, “Me?”
You laughed, “Lucas, on our first date you thought we had so many complaints about the ‘loud dude in the booth’ that they asked us to leave.”
He frowned, “It’s not my fault my voice carries. And I have a very pleasant laugh, they should’ve been happy to hear it.” He pouted, “But we got ice cream to make up for it.”
You bit your lip, holding back your grin at the memory. “Yeah and it was freezing out.” You paused watching his expression, “But it’s never too cold for ice cream, besides, I wouldn’t have gotten your jacket out of it. And by the way, I’m keeping it. It’s soft.”
He smiled widely, immediately agreeing with you. “I’m just gonna use that excuse to see you again.”
You returned his sentiment, it wouldn’t be all that bad to meet Lucas again. You seemed to enjoy yourself every time you met.
“Oh. Jisung, hey.” You let out surprised.
“Hi.” He smiled at you shyly, staring back at you.
“Hi.” You blushed at the awkward tension between the two of you.
You turned and locked the door quietly before facing your neighbor again. “I was just heading out.”
“Right.” He mumbled, retreating back towards his apartment.
“I was going to the bookstore to pick up some things…” You trailed off, watching his expression, “If you’d like to come…?”
You immediately regretted your offer, ducking your head to hide your embarrassment. “You don’t have to, that was-”
“Sure.”
You froze, quickly snapping your head to meet his gaze.
“I uhh… have some things to take care of too.” He stumbled over his words to accept your offer.
“Oh, okay.” You smiled shyly at your feet, a strange feeling in your stomach turning.
You nodded in the direction of campus, trudging forward slowly at first to let him catch up. Soon enough the two of you were keeping pace.
A few minutes passed before Jisung cleared his throat, “So what are you getting from the bookstore?”
You nodded to yourself, “I have a textbook I ordered. It’s ridiculous isn’t it? How insanely overpriced it is, and it’s not like it’s even possible to pass the class without it. I mean I’m paying enough for college, now I have to pay on top of that.” You took a breath and chuckled nervously, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to rant on you.”
Jisung grinned at the way you were so worked up, “No not at all. I totally agree. It’s a rip off, I mean why not just make it part of tuition, we’re paying enough as it is.”
You nodded, “Right? It’s not right to make it required, like I could totally pirate it online, but if the professors make our homework using the online site to turn it in, that’s not even an option.”
You sighed exasperated, and missed the look on Jisung’s face. He seemed to enjoy the way you raved on about something as simple as a textbook.
You paused at the sound of his laughter from beside you, and you turned to look at him with a smile, enjoying the sound.
It was a fifteen minute walk to campus, and another five to the bookstore. And before you knew it the building was looming over your heads.
Jisung jogged a few paces before you, reaching for the door. You paused, watching as he stood aside, holding the door for you.
You blushed, perhaps, as they say, chivalry isn’t dead. “Thank you.”
You reached your hand up, pressing your cold fingers against your burning cheeks, an attempt to chase away the color.
“So which class is it for?” He asked, looking around, and thankfully not noticing your heated face.
“Economics.” You replied, lifting your head in search of your department.
The two of you wandered around for a few more moments, not searching particularly hard for the book in question.
“Look, introduction to Korean Pop Music.” He laughed, pointing at the textbook. “Can you believe there’s a whole course on that?”
You smiled, looking. “I dunno, it seems interesting. Besides, there’s classes for classical music, and pop music, why not K-pop?”
He nodded back, giving you a glance.
“Here, economics.” You mumbled out, walking down the long corridor. You ran your fingers along the spines of all the books, stopping at the familiar title. “Jesus, 98 dollars.”
He frowned, sidling up next to you.
Sighing you reluctantly pulled the book off the shelf. “Ready?”
Jisung looked at you under heavy brows.
“You’re going to get it?”
“It comes with the online version. I mean I have to get the online portion, might as well get the hardcopy for free with it.” You nodded towards the check out, stepping towards the staircase.
He followed in suit, stuffing his hands in his pocket. He ran into your back after you stopped abruptly, suddenly remembering something.
“Oh, didn’t you have to get a book?”
Jisung’s eyes widened, “Oh yeah.” At that moment he reached out and grabbed what seemed to be a random book from the closest table, but you chose to ignore it.
He raised the book, and gave you a smile.
Your eyebrows shot up, “Introduction to the female reproductive system?”
Jisung suddenly turned very pale, as he tried to play it off. “Yeah, ummm… for my biology class.”
You grinned, nodding like you believed him. But you chose to continue up the stairs, unable to watch as his face contorted. While you weren’t looking he quickly flipped over the cover, gulping at the sight of the price.
“80 dollars?” But he shook it off, trudging after you.
“Anything else for you?” A boy around the same age as you was checking you out.
“Nope, that should be it.” You smiled, fumbling around with your purse to find your wallet.
“Economics huh? Are you a ManEcon major?” He asked, leaning towards you slightly, ignoring Jisung who had arrived nearby.
You looked up from your bag, “Huh? Oh, yeah ManEcon. You?”
Your hand was still deep in your back when he replied. “Same, I’m a Junior, I managed to switch in last year.”
“Really?” You raised your eyebrows, “Was it difficult?”
“No, I mean I knew I wanted to switch early on, so I already was taking the classes I needed.”
You nodded back, “That makes sense. Have you taken macro yet? I’m signed up this quarter but I’m a little nervous.”
“I had Zeggert last quarter, she was pretty good.” He smiled, nodding, “She likes it when people go into office hours, really tries to help.”
You cracked a smile of your own, “No way, I have Zeggert. Thank goodness, I’m definitely going to use her office hours a lot then.”
You took a moment to successfully dig out your wallet, sliding him your card.
“That’s good, well, I’m here basically all the time. So if you ever need help, you know where to find me.” He winked at you, returning the card.
You murmured out a quick thanks, and stepped aside to let Jisung pay for his books.
Jisung didn’t take long, and you noticed that he was particularly cold with the cashier, who in turn wasn’t nearly as friendly with him as he was with you.
“He was kind of flirting with you.” Jisung mumbled out, picking at the brand new spine of his unneeded textbook.
You glanced at him, stepping through the door that he once again held open, not knowing how to respond to him.
“Don’t you have a boyfriend?” He asked under his breath as you caught up beside him.
“What?” You shot him a puzzled look.
Jisung raised his eyebrows, “Your boy...friend?” He slowed his words, questioning them himself.
“I don’t have a boyfriend.” You let out, not pausing in your steps. The same couldn’t be said for Jisung.
He jogged slightly to catch up. “But your date…?”
“My date?” You asked, now choosing to stop and face him. You shook your head, confused, “What date?”
“The- the guy you were with at the restaurant Wednesday.” He studied the sidewalk intently, flustered at his confession.
“You saw me?” You leaned down slightly, trying to catch his gaze.
“I-uh… I mean I didn’t mean to watch you. But we just happened to go to that restaurant.” He mumbled, choosing to walk forward and escape the situation, but you quickly caught up.
“He’s not my boyfriend, I mean, we were on a date, but he’s not my boyfriend.” You felt the need to defend yourself, or at least clear things up. Although you didn’t know why you felt the need.
“Oh. A date.” He mumbled. He was overjoyed at the fact that you weren’t dating anyone, but couldn’t help but be disappointed at the mention of a date. From what he remembered, you seemed to be enjoying yourself then.
The silence grew until you reached your doorstep. It had taken Jisung fifteen minutes to decide, fifteen minutes to pluck up the courage he needed.
“How about a date with me?” Although he refused to meet your eyes, you felt the genuinity.

WINGLESS | Ch. 2
***WARNING: Season 4 Spoilers Ahead
***New to Wingless? Start at Chapter 1!
CH. SUMMARY: Of all the people Rena could let slip that she knows Ladybug's identity in front of . . . it had to be Chat Noir.
< < < THREE MONTHS AGO < < <
Ladybug swung from building to building, the exhilaration of a job well done fueling the fire in her veins. Traffic it would seem had resumed immediately, the sounds of wheels on pavement and cars obnoxiously honking ricocheting throughout the city’s architecture. This didn’t surprise Ladybug, seeing as the city had grown quite accustomed to akumas blocking the roads. Once the tips of her toes touched a rooftop, it wasn’t long before she was joined by another pair of boots.
“That went well,” commented Ladybug as she swiveled to face her teammate.
Rena Rouge folded her arms across her chest and popped a hip, lips puckered in a frown. “Are you kidding, girl?”
Ladybug’s face fell. No, she wasn’t kidding. She honestly had felt it went well. Was she missing something? Did a disaster strike while she was focused on her lucky charm? Had her Miraculous ladybugs not corrected all of the damage? Were there civilians hurt somewhere--
Abruptly, Rena clapped her hands on Ladybug’s shoulders and squealed, putting a halt to Ladybug’s internal meltdown. “That went amazing! We’re like a well-oiled machine, you and me. I still can’t believe I get to do superhero stuff!” At the sound of Alya’s impromptu shrieking, some pigeons nearby took flight, cooing what Ladybug imagined was a bird version of crotchety old people grumbling. Not even the least bit deterred, Rena leaned forward into Ladybug’s personal bubble, eyes wide with excitement. “But what I really can’t believe is that I’m doing it all with my best friend!”
Ladybug relaxed her posture and let out a breath she hadn’t known she was holding. But she quickly regretted it when she got a nice, big whiff of crepes, urine, and cigarette smoke. Ah, Paris. Home, sweet home. However, noticing her thoughts were veering dangerously offtrack, Ladybug shook herself mentally.
So nothing had gone wrong. Rena was just being Rena and drawing out the suspense. Ladybug patted her friend’s right hand--which was still firmly squeezing her shoulder--and smiled sweetly.
“It sure is convenient that I don’t have to hide from you anymore,” the spotted-heroine remarked. “I think half the time I took so long to get to a battle because I always had to come up with excuses.”
Rena grinned with a knowing glint in her eye. “I might be impressed if your excuses were actually good.”
Rolling her eyes, Ladybug turned away from Rena, causing Rena’s hands to fall to her sides. “Hey, you try having to come up with five hundred different reasons you have to flake on your friends and see if you fare any better.”
Rena was about to sass her best friend some more, but the words caught in her throat at the sight of Ladybug hugging herself. She recognized this stance. Ladybug’s head was in what Rena deemed the “Guilt Grotto.”
Rena stepped forward to wrap Ladybug in a warm, girl-you-better-get-your-head-out-of-the-guilt-grotto-or-I’ll-tickle-you embrace when there was movement across the rooftops in her periphery. She craned her head to the right to find the familiar silhouette of Chat Noir vaulting his way over, a goofy grin clearly plastered across his face the closer he got.
In a matter of seconds, he landed squarely beside Ladybug, startling her. Ladybug, the epitome of grace that she was, did a series of awkward hand gestures before falling back on her bum, shrieking.
Chat Noir didn’t even look a teeny bit remorseful.
“Looks like I got here just in time!” he quipped, bowing and sliding his baton back into place on his suit.
Rena held out a hand for her friend as Ladybug voiced her question: “In time for what?”
Chat bounced on the balls of his feet. “Well, for the akuma, of course! You guys were having a quick team meeting, right?”
Rena and Ladybug shared a look. So that’s what he was so happy about. Ladybug opened her mouth to reply, but Rena beat her to it.
“Actually, we already took care of the akuma.”
Chat Noir visibly deflated. His ears drooped and his belt tail started to swish back and forth. “Oh.” He turned to the edge of the rooftop and hunkered down, letting his legs kick to and fro in an attempt to get rid of some of the adrenaline.
Ladybug winced. Chat did not sound happy. Hesitantly, she sat next to him. Rena then took a seat beside her, making her the middle. “Sorry, Chat. I know you like battling akumas more than I do.”
Chat nodded before murmuring, “Thirteen.”
“Hm?” Ladybug scooted closer to him to hear him better, their legs nearly touching. She leaned to her right to get a better look at his face and tilted her head innocently. If she were Marinette then, she might have fallen off the rooftop altogether, but she was Ladybug, and Ladybug had way more poise.
Chat didn’t answer immediately. Whatever it was that he was about to say, Ladybug knew it must be something important if he, the guy who was always upfront about his feelings, found it difficult to say. The guy who told her . . .
It’s precisely when something is important that it’s important to say it.
No matter what.
Ladybug gingerly rested a hand on his arm, hoping he understood what the gesture meant. It’s okay. Take your time. I’m ready to listen.
After a few more moments of staring at his feet, Chat Noir lifted his head so his eyes bore into Ladybug’s. They creased with . . . Was that worry? Sadness? Fear?
“Thirteen,” he repeated, a bit louder. “That makes it thirteen times you and Rena have battled an akuma without me. Since Montparnasse Tower.”
Ladybug was speechless. As she stared ahead, eyes unfocused, she tried her hardest to recall all the akuma battles. It was challenging as her memory loved to fail her when she needed it most. Had he really not been in any of those battles? Had it really been thirteen times?
Had he . . . had he really been keeping count?
Ladybug didn’t know what to say, but she knew she had to say something, anything. But what could she say? Was she sorry?
No, she couldn’t be sorry that the akumas had been defeated, that the victims had been rescued, that she had been able to do so quickly because Alya had been spending a record amount of hours by her side.
She couldn’t be sorry about any of that. She was only sad that he felt sidelined.
That was not her intention.
But she knew what the solution to that was.
And she would rather die before she let Chat Blanc see the light of day.
Somehow, knowing her identity had led to him being akumatized. Somehow, whether it was in an alternate timeline or when their memories had been wiped by Oblivio, she knew that what he said at Montparnasse Tower--that to know him was to love him--was truth. And Chat Blanc had told her what their love did.
Their love destroyed the world.
Their love had killed her.
Their love broke the moon, for crying out loud.
But, most importantly, their love hurt him.
Chat Noir had told her he loved her, many times, and she had even been considering giving his pun-spurting, jokes-at-the-worst-times self a chance. But being forced into combat with her akumatized partner had violently squashed any hope she had for them, for LadyNoir as Alya coined it on her blog. Ladybug would be damned if she allowed that to happen again. And if that meant encouraging him to move on even though it broke her heart . . .
Well, it wasn’t supposed to be easy being a hero.
Ladybug had this entire conversation with herself in a matter of seconds. She was careful not to let her face expose any of her innermost feelings, instead sporting an expression of neutrality. What she ultimately decided to do was tell him the only truth she had to offer. He hated secrets and she hated lying. What a pair they made.
“I wish it could be different,” she whispered.
And oh, how she did. She desperately yearned to tell him who she was, to know who he was, to tell him about Alya and Nino and all the other people she had entrusted with a Miraculous.
She wanted him to know how she grew up, what kinds of things she did at school, how she was utterly ridiculous when it came to her rotten luck (and she tried very hard to push a certain blue-eyed blonde out of her head the moment that phrase came to mind). She was sure he would snicker at all the times she made a fool of herself in front of Adrien, of all the ways she made her own life a living hell with her clumsiness.
Or perhaps he wouldn’t laugh. Perhaps he would pat her shoulder and uplift her with words of encouragement. She didn’t know. After the stunt he pulled with the balcony of candle-lit roses, the boy was a wild card, an enigma. He was complex.
And it thrilled her.
But no matter how she felt about him, they couldn’t know each other that way.
Sighing quietly, Ladybug brought her knees up to her chest and turned away from Chat Noir. If she had been watching him when she responded, she might have seen him look longingly at her, but she didn’t.
Rena Rouge did, though.
Wanting to make her friends feel better, Rena added, “Don’t you worry your pretty kitty head about it. I’m sure all those battles would have taken way longer if we weren’t already together.”
Ladybug and Chat Noir both stiffened. Chat’s gaze flicked from Rena to his partner over and over before they finally rested on Ladybug. “Uh, what does she mean by that?”
Ladybug shot a glare in Rena’s direction, but her eyes softened when she saw that Rena genuinely appeared surprised.
He didn’t know? Rena’s eyes asked Ladybug.
He didn’t know, Ladybug’s affirmed.
One would think Rena was Lady Luck because her pendant had decided that that moment was the best time to beep, and she couldn’t agree more. Now she had an escape route from this conversation. “Welp,” she clapped her hands together, “I’m gonna go chill in that fine-lookin’ alley over there.”
Before Ladybug could agree, Rena sprang from her spot and promptly disappeared. She was a regular magician, and her latest trick was leaving Ladybug with a rabbit to put back in the hat.
Or, er--a cat back in the bag. Whatever.
“What she meant by that . . . ” Ladybug began slowly, like she was addressing a wounded animal. Which, maybe she was but just, you know, emotionally wounded.
“Yeah . . . ” prompted Chat, signalling that he was not going to drop this.
Ladybug quickly jumped to her feet and began her ritual of frantic pacing. “Look, I’ve been wanting to tell you this for a while, but I didn’t know how to because I knew it would raise questions that I couldn’t answer--”
A blonde boy in white leather with somber blue eyes appeared in front of her and she dug her heels into the cement, skidding to a stop.
Chat Noir was behind Ladybug now, his voice soft and curious. “Bug?”
Ladybug was frozen in place for a few more seconds before she shook her head hard enough to give herself shaken-baby syndrome and nodded, satisfied that the aggressive head-shaking had rid her of he who shall not be named. She whipped around and started.
Chat Noir was incredibly close.
She didn’t know he had gotten this close.
Geez, his eyes were really cat-like.
He also had a really cute nose--
Ladybug, FOCUS!
Ladybug took a step back. She made it her mission to ogle his bell instead of looking into his dumb kitten eyes. “You--” she began, but Ladybug’s throat was suddenly dry. She gulped. “You know how much I hate secrets and lying. And I know how much you hate secrets and lying. So I’m not going to lie to you. But I may not be able to answer the questions I’m sure you’ll have, so please . . . ”
Ladybug grabbed one of his hands then and held it firmly between her own, pleading with every fiber of her being that this would communicate how much he meant to her even though she knew what she was about to tell him would make it seem like he didn’t mean anything.
Please forgive me, Ladybug’s heart supplied.
When he didn’t immediately take his hand back, she looked up at him. She looked into those dumb kitten eyes and knew without a shadow of a doubt--
She was a masochist.
This was going to hurt. He didn’t like when she was the only one to know Rena’s identity. He definitely wasn’t going to like that Rena knew hers. This would be so much easier if she wasn’t ogling those big, emerald green, beautiful, brazenly dumb kitten eyes.
But she was a masochist. And she needed to see them while they still held love for her.
“I told Rena Rouge who I am.”
There. She ripped off the band-aid. Straight to the point. Zero room for interpretation. After all, her worst arguments started because of her clumsy miscommunication.
Ladybug braced herself for an explosion. She had played this moment in her head a couple hundred times since exposing herself to Alya.
Yelling. There was always yelling.
Sometimes, he stomped away while doing that weird T pose where his fists didn’t connect to his hips . . . a pose she herself was guilty of, too.
Others, he chastised her about her thoughtlessness--to which she responded that she definitely thought about it long and hard that day.
Ladybug braced herself for an explosion because she was sure there was going to be one, especially after seeing him upset about her always running off to Master Fu. He hadn’t even known there was a Guardian for a while.
What she hadn’t braced herself for was the expression on his face.
Thump, thump. Thump, thump.
His head was bowed.
His eyes were closed.
A lone tear slid down his cheek.
Thump, thump. Thump, thump.
Her heart thudded against her ribcage, screaming at her to run because he wanted her Miracul--!
No! She refused to finish that thought.
Her head yelled back that he wasn’t akumatized right now, that she wasn’t back there, that she wasn’t with him. She desperately tried to shove the image from her mind. This was more than she could bear. She just--she couldn’t take it! She couldn’t take it because . . .
Because . . .
Thump, thump. Thump, thump.
Because he looked just like him.
Thump-thump. Thump-thump.
He looked like Chat Blanc.

↬ warning/s: profanity lol, a lot of second hand embarrassment, two insufferable idiots, idk if this is too ooc of shouto but just take this dorky version of him
↬ note: a fic dedicated to @puredivinity that serves as a welcome gift for joining the sho simp club. luv u mara despite all the cursed images i send
Class 3-A has four unspoken rules:
Number one: never play music out loud beyond 8 pm (tried and tested by Denki himself, got blown up by Bakugo)
Number two: don't leave your room at 2 am or a certain grape pervert would harass you
Number three: refrain from mentioning crocs to Kirishima. Just don’t.
And number four: never tell you or Shouto that both of you like each other (just for the sake of entertainment)
It had become customary to not break these four rules or those who dare break it is rumored to have a thousand year duration of bad luck to be passed down generation after generation.
That said, Mina was fed up with the mutual pining you and Shouto clearly exhibit. For two years she watched both of you shy and fluster with one another. His face beet red while you a fumbling mess. Truly a sight to behold. It was like watching a romance movie in real time, but without the stupid opening track.
At first she thought it was cute, it all started one morning during her first year in U.A. You forgot your jacket that day after waking up late and thus have to rush to get on time. Aizawa would have your head if you weren't there in homeroom. So in your idiocy and frantic state, you forgot most of the essential stuff and that includes, of course, a warm jacket.
Mina watched as Shouto stared at you from across the room. With tense shoulders as his gaze constantly drift from your form to his jacket. Her mouth curled upwards, interested with the current situation. It was not every day one could see the infamous Todoroki Shouto so nervous.
She eagerly kept her attention on him, watching as Shouto got up from his seat and slowly made his way to you with shaky legs. Shouto, barely uttering a word, shoved his jacket to you and rushed back to his seat. At that moment, Mina already knew something was blossoming between you and him.
And so it basically became her life mission to make sure you and Shouto end up with one another. She made the promise two years ago, and yet here you both were, two dorks that has a crush on each other but couldn't confess even if the world ends that very moment.
Was it difficult to watch? Yes.
It took all of Mina's entire being to not push his head into yours. She knows the consequences if one breaks the fourth rule. Two years had already pass and graduation is around the corner, she refuses to accept that both of you aren't a couple. As Class 3-A's resident cupid and match maker, she is more than determined to make sure you and him both end up together. Mina would not be inherently breaking rule number four, just gonna give you guys a lil' push with the help of a friend. And that friend is one that possesses an electrification quirk.
"Okay, what do we tell (____) tomorrow?" Denki asked.
Shouto looked over his written notes one last time before nodding and giving his answer, "I'll ask them if they want to have coffee."
"Good! Make sure to?"
"I'll make sure to keep eye contact and. . ." he halted, going over his notes once more. "And make sure that I'm smiling."
Denki flashed him a grin. Clasping a hand around his shoulder and lightly patting it afterwards. "Now, don't forget the lesson I've taught you today. It is important that your date goes smoothly with (____)."
Shouto eagerly nodded, stars dancing in his eyes. His heart clamored inside his chest, beating in a quick tempo comparable to that of allegro. Sweat accumulated on his palm, in which Shouto then hastily wiped it on his shirt. Despite nervousness bubbling inside his stomach, Shouto admits that he is excited to ask you out. "Do you really think (____) and I would be a great couple?"
"Of course, dude! Right, Mina?" Denki turned to his friend. She gave him two thumbs-up, giving fuel to Shouto's confidence for tomorrow's event.
Now that Denki is done giving him an hour-long lesson about asking you out and things to do in a date, Mina was sure everything would go smooth as butter. Like, what could go wrong? Despite Shouto being a dork and foreign to the concept of love, he still has that natural charm that had some swooning for him.
Though, she spoke all too soon.
Mina facepalmed, dragging her palm across her face as Shouto stood frozen before you. She and Denki should've seen this coming.
"(____)," he started, his voice cracking at the end. Suddenly the discoloration and grime in between the cracks of the wall looks interesting. He kept looking everywhere but you.
You tilted your head to the side, "What's up, Sho?"
Heavens above, Shouto loves that nickname.
The male fiddles with the ends of his shirt, his tongue twisting and throat closing which makes it hard to speak. After class had ended, Shouto came up to you asking if he could talk to you somewhere private. He led you to the area behind the gym where no students are on sight. Well, that is except for Mina and Denki who closely followed behind to make sure Shouto wouldn't mess up his chance. The two stayed low, making sure they are well hidden behind the bush nearby.
This was now the moment; the perfect chance for Shouto to ask you out after practicing his lines over and over again. It was a simple question: ‘Do you want to have coffee with me this weekend if you are free?”
Should be easy enough right?
"I- well- uhh. . ." he scratched the area behind his ear. "D-do you maybe want to free?"
Shouto paled, he'd done messed up.
"Wait that's wrong—" he took a deep breath. "Are you coffee this weekend?"
Really? Really Shouto?
"Shit— wait! Coffee this free??"
Can someone take this lost child away?
Denki bit his inner cheek, hands tugging his hair from second hand embarrassment. He had fate on him; had fate that Shouto had rehearsed enough the night before in asking you out. Guess he was wrong.
"What do you mean by that?" you voiced out. You were beyond puzzled, unsure what to make of the situation. First he asks to speak with you in private, now he's a stuttering mess. Could it be that he's confessing? Asking you out?
Your heart quickened at the thought. You were ready to say 'yes'.
"What I mean is uhh. . ." Shouto wished he has his written notes. "Are you weekend for this coffee?"
"YES!!" you shout without thinking.
Wait, what? Hold up.
"Aight, I'm forcing these two to kiss each other." Mina announced. That’s it. She lost hope for the both of you. You and Shouto need professional help. She adjusted her position, ready to get up and intervene. That is until Denki lay a heavy hand on her shoulder.
"Wait," he motioned his head to you. Mina huffed, sitting down once more.
"Sho. . ." you start, a soft smile on your face.
"Y-yes?" damn, Shouto is such a stuttering mess.
"Do you want to grab a coffee this weekend? I mean, if you are free?"
He blinked, your words slowly being registered in his brain. There was a buffer, like an old computer processing 10 kilobyte worth of data. His brain was stuck on 78% in the progress bar. Then, it dawned on him; the cogs and gears turning. It took a full minute for Shouto to understand. "I-. . .I’d love to!" he managed to stutter out.
Welp, at least that did the job. Denki and Mina released a sigh of relief. High-fiving each other despite the obvious fact that Shouto failed his task.
But hey, beggars can't be choosers. All's well, ends well.
You can't believe it.
You have a date with Shouto. THE Todoroki Shouto. The guy you've had a crush on since your first year in UA. The one that swept you right off your feet the moment you laid your eyes on him. The friend that always had your back. With him struggling to ask you earlier, could it mean that he likes you more than a friend?
You let out a squeal, pressing the pillow flush against your chest. In total, you've replayed the scene from memory for over fifty times already. You couldn't even concentrate in doing your homework. So you thought instead of doing your responsibilities, you opted to celebrate by screaming and running around your room in glee.
It wasn't everyday you'd get a douse of serotonin.
You’ve waited for this day since forever. Day dreaming about Shouto being your significant other; holding hands with him, wrapping your arms around his torso, and kissing his lips.
The thought brought forth another pterodactyl squeal from you.
Oh gods, what would you wear? Should it be casual? Semi-formal? Formal?
A wedding dress??
No one told you a date was this stressful. You groaned, prying opening your wardrobe cabinet to quickly plan out an outfit. You can’t afford to look stupid and, dare you say, cheap when you’re on a date with the most sought after male in UA.
Meanwhile, Shouto is also panicking.
“Look man, you messed up once but that’s okay!” Denki cheered him up. “Experience is the best teacher.”
“I know but. . .” Shouto took one deep breath, burying his face in his hands. “I-. . .I just froze up the moment I was in front of them.”
“And that’s normal!”
The moment you and Shouto parted ways, the male immediately went to Denki for some follow up consultation. Sure, he can fight villains face-to-face without batting an eye. Could freeze half of his enemies without a drop of sweat. Unleash an inferno of fire to defeat his oponent. Tolerate a bunch of fans shoving cameras up his face to get a close-up picture.
But Todoroki Shouto, for the love of god, couldn’t ask you out without freezing in place and become a stuttering mess.
“Lighten up man!” Denki nudged his shoulder. “Unleash the tiger inside you.”
“But I don’t have a tiger inside me. That would be anatomically incorrect.”
“Look—that’s not the—. . .what I mean is—uhh. . .nevermind. . .” the blond struggled with his words. He had to be careful with what advice he throw at Shouto. That man takes things way too literately. “What I mean is, toughen up. Have confidence on yourself. You’ll have (____) falling for you before you knew it.”
Which will be easy since (____) is a simp for him, Denki thought.
Shouto raised his fist then clenched it, determination washing over him. He gave one brief nod to his mentor (that is the personification of Pikachu).
He can do it. Todoroki Shouto could do it.
He’d go over his lines a thousand times before the date. He’d make sure he is 110% prepared before the weekend. Denki had made a dent in his schedule just to tutor him how to make you fall in love with him. Shouto wouldn’t let this go to waste.
Yes, this man is prepared and is on a mission he couldn't possibly fail.
Scratch that, Shouto’s a mess.
He pulled the end of his sleeves, his legs bouncing up and down. The male bit the inside of his cheeks, was the weather hot or was it just his insides burning up. Shouto couldn’t sleep the night before, his mind kept him up. It was like 17 browser tabs are open, with three of them frozen, and he doesn’t know where the music is coming from.
Due to the jitters getting the best of him, Shouto arrived at the agreed destination. . .two hours earlier than what was expected.
Which wasn’t a problem anyway, since you did the same.
You huffed, doubling over and placing your hands on your knees. You had ran from your house all the way to the cafe just to make sure you weren't late this time. In attempts to catch your breath, you’ve failed to notice your date standing just a few feet away from you. The minute Shouto laid his eyes on you, fire sparked deep within his heart. Someone pinch him and tell this wasn’t a dream.
“(____),” he walked close to which startled you.
“Sho! You-. . . you’re early!”
“So are you. . .”
Then silence fell between both of you. Talk about awkward. Who’s idea was it to get these two idiots in a date? If anything, both of you should’ve just left it on mutual pining and save it as a story for the grandchildren.
Shouto cleared his throat, hands scratching the back of his neck. “Well, since we’re both early. Why won’t we enter the café?”
You nodded, your voice box failing you. Inwardly, you were screaming your heart out. The embarrassment was just too much for you to handle. You doubt that Shouto would want a second date at this point.
And so you lagged behind him, keeping a feet distance away from the male. You have a hard time looking at him without making a mess for yourself. Blood rushing your cheeks, it was hard to ignore the butterflies fluttering inside your stomach.
The café was quite small. A handful of potted plants hung outside, the store’s name written in calligraphy, and a few customers visible from the window. The establishment was newly built, Ochako introduced it to you about a week ago. The cheesecake they sell is to die for—it was definitely worth the hefty price.
A small chime went off as Shouto opened the door. Then it hit you; the strong smell of coffee. You were not a big fan of the beverage, but you’ve got to admit that the scent was pleasant. Without prior warning, Shouto lightly held your hand in his. His thumb gliding over the back of your hand a few times. You took in a sharp inhale, eyes widening at his gesture.
This is what they do in dates right? Shouto recalled his notes.
So this is like a DATE date?? Not a friendly date? Somebody pinch me right now, you thought.
“We should find a table,” he spoke, eyes refusing to make contact with yours. You’ve managed to stutter out an agreement, too occupied with the feeling of his hands. It was so warm—just the way you imagined it throughout the years.
You could finally die now in peace. Goodbye cruel world.
Soon enough, you and he are situated on a table near the window. Neither of you dare start a conversation, because god forbid another awkward interaction. Years worth of watching romance series could have never prepared you for such an instance. You wished you should’ve consulted some of your classmates—especially those who have experience in the topic of dating—before coming here yourself. You could try and message them, but you wondered if it would be rude to pull out your phone and ignore Shouto. No, you wouldn’t take the chance.
“Uh- So how are you, (____)?” he asked, pulling you out of your thoughts.
“Oh, uhhh—. . .” how does one even speak again? “I’m doing well, I guess. . .?”
That was lame, (____). Lame.
“How about you?”
Shouto was silent, you figured he didn’t hear you so you repeated yourself once again. All the while not looking at his direction. It would be better if you don’t see his face or you’ll turn into a puddle of mess.
But seconds seem to drag to minutes, and that got you concerned.
“Sho—“ you cut yourself short, realizing that he was staring at you with a lovestruck expression. He looks at you rather softly, like how one would look at a small pet one happens to cross by while walking. The way Shouto kept his gaze at you made you insecure. Was there something on your face? Hair? Shirt? Oh gods, did you smell?
You wished that, right then and there, the earth would swallow you whole.
“Sorry I was just. . .” he faltered in his sentence, gulping down his saliva. Shouto then turned his head to the side, a blush ever so present on his cheeks as well as the tips of his ears.
"Sorry, you're just—just so cute in that outfit that I can’t help but stare."
His voice was quiet, barely a whisper but you heard it, ironically, loud and clear. Your hand found its way on your mouth, blood rushing to your cheeks as a result of his compliment.
“Tha-thank you. . .” you’ve managed to croak out, looking down and fiddling with your nails.
Just. WOW. You can’t believe it. Never once did Shouto commented on your appearance throughout the duration of your friendship with him. What he did was just. . .just so unexpected from him. You find it hard to believe yourself.
All these years, you’ve hidden your feelings for him. Trapped it inside a chest and swallowed the key yourself. Him falling for you is comparable to that of pigs flying; it was impossible to happen. Yet both of you sat there, like two dorks, a blushing mess while refusing to make eye contact with one another. For once, maybe this time, you could tell him how you feel.
“I like you. . .” you voiced out your thoughts. It took you a minute to realize what you've done. You let out a small gasp and directed your attention to Shouto. He was also looking at you, baffled. He went silent, his jaw went slack, and eyes wide open, trying to find the words to reply.
Oh boi, did you made a mistake?
“(__—“
“BECAUSE YOU’RE MY FRIEND!” Your jaw tightened, declaring it all too loudly just in case he rejects you. “I like you because you’ve been a good friend to me.”
You hope you were doing this right.
Unbeknownst to you, Shouto felt his heart break into two after hearing your added comment. His shoulders slumped down, sadness clouded his features.
“I. . .I see. . .” he muttered. “I like you too,” he said after a pregnant pause.
Your whole face lit up. Now it was your turn to look at him with a baffled expression. There was a twinkle in your eye, is this it? The moment of your life?
“Because you’re my precious friend.” Shouto plastered a smile on his face.
Oh. Welp, Mina and Denki tried.
RIP to both of you, forever pushing the other in the friend zone.
ya’ll want a bakugo version of this? (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ✧

it's like a patronus lol more proof that we're family, no? :P
very very true. any editors are better than tumblr atp ;w; even on mobile, tumblr editor deletes paragraphs at times. like... why. >:/
chicken sandwiches ftw!! hskshdks that's kinda adorable... yes child, you have your cocoa latte while i'll have my flat white- /j
yes yes the jp version is my favorite in that scene!!! (isn't umeyuu really ikemen irl too lol) i mean the en va did a good job too ofc but from all versions the jp one just hits differently... or maybe i am biased lol
i am loving the married couple bickering between those two lmao i really hope their banner is together or something (i heard kaveh is a 4*?)... oooh i wish genshin had a system where there was a unique "added to party" line that triggers if certain characters are in that party yk?? e.g. if you add kaveh to a party with al haitham he might have the chance to say "ugh not this guy" or "you have bad taste" lmaoooo wouldn't that be fun?? i'm so making this a post sjdlsjdl
i tried exploring around mond to 100% my exploration (so far only 2 areas are 100%) with the treasure compass and it's. it's so relaxing but also it takes so. much. time. lsdfjslhdfjks i'm gonna die from the electroculus and dendroculus searching, i just know it ;w;
*stamps 'chronic simp' sign on your hand* welp now we match-
yeye i heard about that too! so my current plan is to use my guarantee to 'mouchie cause i just gotta collect these anemo boys it's my destiny (i somehow have a feeling his rerun won't be anytime soon after this cause we're already kinda 'done' with his story, while compared to that childe will definitely still appear in the future???) and then pull on ayato's banner. if i'm lucky, i'll get ayato, but if not at least that means guaranteed al haitham (which i heard will be in 3.4?). but whatever it is al haitham's coming home no matter what cause i have the power of credit card
sobs i love that one the most too. the inspiration gods blessed me with that one ;w;
i'm cradling your hugs and cuddles close to my chest and sipping your tea with a smile. sending you back twice the hugs and headpats <3 <3
calling them our patronus sounds so cute AWWW <3 this makes me want to rewatch harry potter all of a sudden, but i'd probably end up falling asleep the moment i laid my head down on the sofa 😭 i think ayato would find the wizarding world vv intriguing and comment on its perks ("my, an invisibility cloak? i can only imagine the many tricks i'd be able to get away with." smack him /j). and for heizou, ik for sure that he would deffo be a fan of it (he's a nerd, a cute one).
i can see why you like the jp ver because umehara yuichiro's voice makes alhaitham sound extra feral LOLL i'm vv excited to see you go feral when his drip marketing comes out on twitter 👀 and yep, kaveh is a 4-star and it is most likely he'd be on the same banner as his beloathed roommate, pfft. OH, THAT IDEA SOUNDS FUN LOLLL you add kaveh into the party and alhaitham's unique voiceline is just "...sigh, care to remind me why he has to be here again?"
good luck with mondstadt's exploration, rin jie! >:) treasure hunting is like a more relaxed way to get 100% exploration and primos in small quantities. don't be like me and resort to finding the oculi yet because hoyoverse hides them in the weirdest places that i had to pull out guides 😭
GO GET SCARAMOOSH HOME! from what i saw in leaks, his kit is super cool and unique from the rest. the angy man literally floats in the air LOLLL and wishing you my good luck on ayato! hopefully, that commissioner will follow his great buddy oni's example and come home ;D and the way alhaitham is technically already guaranteed to be yours, whether that be with the power of credit card or not (hopefully not) fjejwkske
as you know for me, i'm definitely pulling for ayato with my guaranteed pity at 25 (i managed to secure layla within 20 pulls on childe's banner) + i have 80 fates saved rn, so it is safe to say the man will come home safe to me! i grinded so hard like i collected dendro sigils, the lumenstones and the res crystals at dragonspine to get those 2 free fates hoyoverse gave out 😭 i think after i get ayato, i'll probably go back to my "pulling on the banner i regret the least" technique. i hope ayato comes home early, so i'd still have some leftover fates <//3 EITHERWAY, BEST OF LUCK TO BOTH OF US! ✨
#i'm kinda excited for v3.3's livestream soon because i wanna see ayato again 😭#i'll probably record my wishing session for him and share it here for fun LOLLL maybe?? >:)#ANYWAY yes !! all the bone-crushing hugs for my dearest cousin <3#probably not a good idea to give those hugs to zhongli in case we hear a crack (/j)#ask box! 📬#visitor: dearest rin! 💠#cw: leaks

Gates Opened Wide
Part 10
Part 11 [CURRENT]
Part 12
DT: @petrichormeraki @applepie1000 @jump-in-the-cadillac @ivorylin
------------
“Clem, do not make me use your full name, big lass! Stand still! Damnit-”
“Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!”
“You learn how to speak more than usual, and you choose to copy my curse words, Jesus Christ. If you’re going to curse, then do it correctly. Now, hold still- hey! No hissing! You put those claws away! Clementine, stop shapeshifting!”
After spending an hour after “early breakfast,” Tommy had finally managed to dress the squealing girl for the day. It was on mornings like this that made him wish he would be on Theo duty, leaving Clem to be dressed by Fundy. But, alas, that day was not today. It took telling Clem that she would be wearing matching outfits with her cousin to convince the rascal to sit still long enough for Tommy to get her ready. She was nearly vibrating by the time Tommy added the finishing touches to her braided hair. Once he pulled his hands away from her small head, she hopped off the chair and run over to Fundy’s room, where Theo was getting ready. Sighing as he stood up, Tommy couldn’t help but laugh as he heard the bedroom door swing open with a slam, a squeaky voice squealing in sync with a happy yell, as well as a startled one. Shaking his head, Tommy finished fixing his hair, adjusting his collar in the process. Suddenly, the sound of the front door opening alerted him of their visitors. Sighing, he prepared for the quick force that would engulf him into a hug.
“There’s my baby of a brother!”
Tommy slightly cursed as he was nearly toppled over, only being saved by the winged embrace of his proud brother. He hugged his brother back, truly happy to see him excited for the day. The hug, however, lasted longer than their usual long hugs, which was causing Tommy to bite back a groan. His efforts, unfortunately, meant nothing, therefore he groaned as he playfully flailed his arms behind his brother’s back, who only held him tighter.
“Muuuuuuuum, Grian won’t stop squeezing me!!!”
A playful laugh rang through the air, serving as the only warning for the older brother. Before he could pull away, a nerf dart hit him square on the forehead. Welping in shock, Grian pulled away, patting his forehead, which was slightly more exposed than usual due to him fixing his hair in a proper manner. Tommy picked up the dart, laughing as he handed it back to a laughing Kristin, who’s curled hair bounced with every laugh.
“Grian, you’re going to wrinkle your shirt! We all spent all morning making ourselves presentable, don’t ruin it.”
“I’m not going to ruin it, we still have the gala at the end of the week to look our best! I am, however, gonna have a red dot on my forehead now.”
“Oh, no you’re not. Stop crying over nonsense, you big baby.”
“How am I the baby, when Tommy is standing right there”
“Oi, shut the fuck up, fucker”
“Don’t make me shove a bar of soap in your mouth”
After everyone was finally dressed and ready to go, they pulled the two kids aside. After they had succeeded in obtaining the children’s attention for more than a minute, Tommy spoke up.
“Alright, you two, listen up. Today is the day that a lot of people are going to be here. Remember to stick with us, and don’t talk to shifty shitheads you don’t know, got it?”
“Sh-”
“Do not finish that word, Clementine”
“Humph”
“Anyways, remember the secret spots? Well, if you get separated from us, stick together and go the the secret passageways if you two get in danger, okay? You two know your way around, I know you do. Just stick together, take care of each other, and have fun, alright?”
“Mkay, Uncle T”
“Good. Now, Theo, your father made a device for both you and Clem. Fundy, if you will.”
The man nodded as he knelt down to the level of the children. Smiling, he opened up his paws, revealing two pretty bracelets. Decorating them were various colors of gems. As he put them on their wrists, he explained how to use them.
“Don’t tell anyone that isn’t from this server, or isn’t the lovely trio or Stampy about these, okay? These are connected to all our communicators. If, for whatever reason you can’t use your communicators to contact us, you can use these. Each of these are connected to a singular communicator, see? This gem represents me, this one represents Tommy, this one is Uncle Grian, and this one is Grandma Kristin! I also labeled the other ones, so you know who you’re contacting. There’s Tubbo, Lani, Stampy, Drista, Iskall, Xisuma, Stress, Impulse-”
“I think they get it, Fundy. We can’t spend the entire day naming everyone.”
“I wouldn’t take the entire day! Anyways, this is how you’ll reach to us without anyone knowing. If you push the big gems on the middle, everyone is alerted and Xisuma will teleport to you. Don’t take them off, okay?”
“Mkay”
“Yes, Papa”
“Good. Ready to go?”
The adults laughed as the children switched from serious to excited within seconds. Taking the hands of the excited children, the family went on their way.
--------
Tommy stood at the entrance of his park, his family by his side. The Hermits helped him in putting up a wall around the park, shielding every detail from the eyes of the public. Today was finally the day of his opening, and he was excited. Maybe a little nervous, but mostly excited. Sighing in relief, he smiled as three figures approached him. Opening his arms, he welcomed the warm hug that came with Tubbo’s greeting.
“Tubbo!”
“Tommy!”
“We’re here too, y’know.”
“Lani! Oh, hey, Drista-”
“Hey!”
The four of them laughed as Stampy joined them, a bouquet of flowers in his hands. Handing the bouquet to Tommy, he couldn’t help but remark about how excited he was.
“-And look at all of you! Oh! You all look lovely and dapper! Everyone from my server is here to show our support! We came super early to beat the crowds! Look at us! Getting the best seats to the opening! I’m going to go gather the rest of my server, do excuse me. We’ll be back to start the crowd!”
Clementine and Theo waved enthusiastically as the neighboring server admin waved, walking away as he let to find the rest of his friends. Smiling, Tommy handed the bouquet to the children, who held it with gentle care. Despite being rowdy and loud together, anything from Stampy could reduce the two the silent happiness. This was always a relief to the adults, who, even though were rowdy as well, could not catch a break with the bouncing toddlers.
“Big day, isn’t it?”
“Oh, you know it is.”
Everyone continued to converse as they attempted to pass the time. Halfway through their conversation, a cheerful voice, which belonged to Impulse, sounded through the communicators.
“Gates are opening, crowd control is being initiated.”
“On it, thank you.”
Gulping, Tommy accepted the words of encouragement that came from his family and friends as they made their way off the stage, joining the rest of Stampy’s server at the front of the crowd, which was now slowly growing as more people trickled in. Stepping behind the curtains that flowed slightly in the cool breeze, Tommy recalled the conversation he had earlier.
------
“And then I call you each on stage to help me with the unveiling.”
“That’s a great idea, Tommy”
“Thanks, Tubzo”
“You want me to help? Are you sure?”
“Yes, Fundy, I want you to help. You are my nephew, which makes you family.”
“Even us?”
“Yes, Theo, even you and Clem. There is one concern, though...”
“What is it?”
“What if Dream’s server comes? I can’t just force you guys up there-”
“Uncle, it’ll be okay. We’ll be okay. X made it so that the guests can’t harm or maim us outside of the dueling areas. Even then, they can’t do much.”
“But, Fundy, what about Dream-”
“It’s like you said, Tommy, we’re family.”
------
Tommy’s communicator snapped him out of his thoughts. Peering down, he saw that Xisuma had sent a private message to him.
XisumaVoid: The stage mics will turn on in a minute. Once the timer hits 30 seconds, the machine will play Pigstep in the background. Good luck, you got this
Tommy sent a quick message of acknowledgment and appreciation back to the admin, quickly adjusting his shirt and fixing his hair. Taking deep breaths, he hyped himself up as Pigstep began to play in the speakers, causing the hermits and lovely’s to cheer, initiating the rest of the guests to follow in suit. Inhaling a deep breath, Tommy released the air as he gave a nice, charming smile as the curtains opened, revealing him and the crowd to each other. Doing his best not to break his professionalism, he bit back a laugh as he heard Iskall’s voice overpowering everyone else’s”
“GO TOMMY!!! LOOK AT HIM GO, THAT’S OUR BOY!!!”
Waving to the crowd before him, he allowed his eyes to hover over the crowd, taking note of the faces before him. His friends and family, of course, were situated before everyone else in the crowd, the members of Stampy’s server behind them. The Hermits were scattered about, helping disperse the energy whilst being some form of security for opening day. Then, he spotted them. There, stood near the center of the crowd, stood the members of the Dream SMP, both old and new. He couldn't tell who was all there, solely because he did his best not to alert them that he knew they were there. Making eye contact with his nephew, he silently plead for guidance on what to do. Fundy, who understood the meaning behind the look, gave his uncle a nod of encouragement. Readjusting his smile, Tommy cleared his throat as the music slowly deafened, leaving only his voice to speak above everyone else.
“Welcome! I’m about to do something really fucking annoying, but this server and the neighboring server finds it hilarious. That being said, CAN I GET A HUMINA IN THE CHAT???”
Laughter filled the large crowd as Hermits and Lovely’s alike began chanting the word, over and over again. They died down once Tommy let out a genuine laugh, making his friends smile. Clearing his throat, he spoke up again.
“Ahah, I apologize for that. It’s kinda of a tradition we have when I do productive shit around here. Anyways! Welcome everybody to the grand opening of my park, ‘Innit an Adventure?’! I genuinely want to welcome and thank you all for coming to celebrate such a special day for us Hermits and Lovely’s alike. When I first began this ambitious project, I did so to cope with my trauma. When words failed to express my emotions, I turned to building. That, in itself is saying something. I mean it, ask any of the Hermits here, they’ll tell you. I was a little shit with shittier building abilities. But they didn’t give up on me, and I eventually became able to create this wonderful world on my own. Know that if you are in a rough place, help is available almost anywhere. If, at any point today, any of you feel overwhelmed or panicky, we have designated panic rooms designed to help calm your nerves. The new pamphlets you all received upon entering the portal show not only the map, but a key that will point you to certain points, like the panic rooms. As much as I want this place to be a fun place for all, I want it to be a safe space, too.”
Peering over to the front, he was encouraged to continue when Clementine waved in a hyper manner to him. Letting out a chuckled, Tommy continued.
“Although I managed to create this myself, I couldn’t have made it to this point without the support from my fellow Hermits.”
He initiated a round of applause as every member of Hermitcraft stood up and waved, some teasing Tommy. Rolling his eyes, he waved them off as he pretended to walk off. Laughing as he stood back on his spot, he gave a genuine smile.
“No, seriously. They had to deal with the little shit that is me, and they did so wonderfully. They guided me through, what I thought, was impossible to guide me through. Truly, thank you. I would also like to thank the lovely trio of terror. When I fell into this world, quite literally, I was scared about where my friends could be, especially my best friend. Luckily, I soon found out what happened to him. Please welcome to the stage, these three headaches that I call my close friends, Tubbo Underscore, Lani Sky Underscore, and Drista Never Taken!”
Applause filled the air as the three lovely’s walked up stage, waving to the crowd. Wearing their matching outfits, Tubbo and Lani stood on either side of Tommy. Drista, who had worn a cleaner version of her mask, stood on Lani’s other side. As the applause died down, Tommy smiled at his friends as his cheerful voice sprung up.
“Hello!”
“Hi!”
“Hello, everyone!”
“After discovering where they were and that they were okay, my mental state improved greatly. They have inspired so many prizes and attractions in this park, which only proves that they have done so much good for me, even when I didn’t deserve it. I also have some amazing family to thank. Let’s start with an amazing, strong woman, who has an even more amazing aim. Please welcome to the stage, my mother! Kristin Minecraft!”
As the trio took a step back, Kristin handed Clem over to Stampy, who happily accepted the giddy girl. Making her way to the stage, she embraced Tommy, giving him a kiss on the forehead as he lowered his head to her, already expecting it. Hugging him one last time, she joined the trio as Tommy spoke of her.
“The way I found her was quite amusing. She really is a lifesaver, thank fucking god for her. Although I didn’t have her around while I was growing up, due to her disappearing before I was even around, she has done more than enough for me, more than I could ever ask for. She truly is an amazing mother and woman. Go Mumza! Go Motherinnit!”
Laughter erupted from the crowd as Kristin gently smacked him upside the head. Although it didn’t hurt, he still cringed as he peered down at her.
“What was that for?”
“You’re being too sweet, only to revert to your rambling. Stay on track.”
“Yes, Mumza.”
As she nodded in approval, Kristin made her way back to the trio, who were openly laughing at their friend. Grumbling, Tommy faced the crowd once more.
“Not only is he friend and a fellow Hermit, he is my brother. Quite literally. Give a big hand for my big brother! Grian- HEY, WHAT THE FUCK, MAN”
He heard his friends and family laugh as Grian opened his wings, rushing forward in the air towards his little brother. Picking him up, Grian hugged his brother before plopping him back on the stage in a less than graceful manner. Dusting himself off, Tommy couldn’t help but pretend to whine.
“What’s up with you assholes, and Mumza. Is it embarrass TommyInnit day???”
He could only muffle a handful of curses as Grian shrugged, a cheeky smile forming on his face. Shooting a smile of his own towards Grian, gave his brother a playful punch.
“When I first arrived, Grian and I bounced off each other perfectly. We fit together, like brothers and shit. Turns out, much to my surprise, we were brothers. Crazy, right? I was like, holy shit, oh my-”
“Tommy”
“-right, sorry. Anyways, Grian was a brother that I had lost at a young age, too young to fully remember much about him. You could say the stars aligned in perfect order to allow me to reunite with him.”
Snickers could be heard from the Hermits and Lovely’s, catching the implications that came with Tommy’s words. Shaking his head, he cleared his throat, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He could practically hear Fundy’s groans from where he stood. Using the anticipated embarrassment of his nephew, Tommy let out a booming voice for the next sentence.
“Everyone, give a hand for my fucking amazing, brilliant nephew, Fundy! Look at him go! Such speed! Amazing!”
Fundy hurried up the stares, a murderous look in his eyes. Once he was near his uncle, he smacked his arm.
“You just had to be theatrical with my introduction, didn’t you?”
“Just for you, Fundy”
“Oh, don’t play that card with me, Uncle.”
Scratching in between his nephew’s ears, Tommy put an arm around him, keeping him beside him, instead of with the others.
“Fundy is a brilliant and intelligent man full of love. He is very passionate about family and his projects, and has a brain that flows with all this smart and creative shit. Although I had completed the park, he came in and showed me ways to improve and add on to it. He has truly been an amazing help to me, and I couldn’t have done some of the things I did without him beside me. Speaking of having someone to stand beside him, I’d like to welcome Fundy’s pride and joy to the stage. Please give a kind and genuine welcome to my great nephew, Fundy’s son, Theo!”
Fundy knelt down with open arms as his son ran up the steps to the stage. Theo couldn’t help but giggle as Fundy lifted him into his arms. Smiling, Theo leaned over to give Tommy a hug, his small paws papping his great uncle’s face.
“Hi, Uncle T”
“Hey, big man”
Theo giggled once more as Tommy ruffled his hair. Curling his tail around his father’s arm, Theo gave the crowd a toothy smile as Fundy stood behind Tommy, situating himself between Grian and Kristin. Once the crowd regained their attention towards their main host, they noticed how he seemed to glow. To them, it was most likely dismissed by the sunlight. To those who knew of Clara, however, knew that it was her warmth, holding his head up in pride.
“And finally, last but certainly not least, the final member of my family. Please, put your hands together for my magnificent moth, my beautiful butterfly. Please welcome, my Clementine.”
The crowd was a mix of applauding and worried gasps as Clem, being the gremlin she was, chose to not use the stairs. Instead, wanting chaos, she had decided to climb the beams. As people began to panic, the people on stage, as well as the Hermits and Lovely’s laughed. Tommy rolled his eyes as he extended his arms. Smiling, he called up to the troublemaker.
“Marco!”
“Polo!”
Clementine laughed as she jumped straight into Tommy’s arms. Once he safely caught her, she began squealing as she frantically moved her hands from clapping and waving. Once he assured the crowd that she was being watched by the Hermits and would have been safely taken down if she was in danger, everyone was ready for the reveal. Giggling as she loosely wrapped her arms around Tommy’s neck, Clem pointed to the stand in the center. Making incoherent excited noises, she and Theo began to wiggle out of their guardian’s arms, racing towards it as soon as their little feet touched the ground. Pulling themselves up, they revealed a lever. And as everyone on stage put their hands on the lever, they all nodded to Tommy. Taking a breath, said man smiled as he and his close ones pulled the lever. The sound of Redstone filled the air as the wall surrounded the park began to disappear into the ground.
“Everyone! I, Thomas Theseus Minecraft, welcome you all to ‘Innit an Adventure?’!”
They were all greeted by the loud cheers of guests as the gates opened wide.

Soulmates- Akaashi
They say when you meet your soulmate, you'll be able to hear their thoughts, feel their pain, hear them sing, hear them yell, and a mark will appear. All of it will go away when you meet again. You always thought it was stupid, why would someone want someone else inside their head? Hearing every single thought that comes through? Or to feel someone else's pain? Who in their right minds would want someone to hear them yell or argue with someone? You didn't believe in soulmates, you couldn't. Until one day by accident, you met your soulmate, of course, neither of you saw each other, just bumped into them. Mumbling apologies before walking away, you don't remember how it happened, all you know now is there is someone else hearing your thoughts. "Y/n! Get up for school!"
"I'm up." You mumbled getting up and ready, you walked downstairs and looked at your mom.
"Hi..."
"Hey, met the one yet?" You rolled your eyes, like the way you met dad?
"Sorry, no, not yet."
uh, hello? You froze, shit, you looked around before looking at your mom.
"What?"
"Nothing! Uh, got to get to school, bye!" You got up and grabbed your bag slipping on your shoes before walking out the door. "That was weird..." You plugged your headphones in and began going to school. Humming to your song, ~I'm in a field of dandelions wishing on everyone that you'll be mine~ Mine~
nice, uh, singing... did you get a mark? You furred your brows looking down at your hand, nearly dropping your phone at the heart on your hand.
I did... You walked into your class sitting beside one of your friends.
"Hey, did you meet your soulmate yet?"
"Literally just did..."
"Oh, I hope mine is Akaashi."
"Who?" Your friend gave you a look.
"Akaashi? He's on the volleyball team."
oh, him, yes G/n, the guy you don't shut up about, lovely, but uh, what was his name again? You thought before speaking.
"Right, my mistake."
you know, uh, I can hear you right?
No, I completely forgot about you. Not every day someone else is inside your brain. Not easy to forget. You sighed banging your head against the desk.
you know, I was looking forward to meeting you, now... I'm not sure..
great, then just leave, like everyone else... Wait! No, shitttt!!! You groaned, your friend looked at you confused.
"You okay?"
"Hm, oh just peachy." You sighed again looking down at your desk.
"So, do you want to come with me this weekend to the game?"
"Sure."
Volleyball.... yay!
you're interested in Volleyball???
no, my friend is wanting me to go with her.
oh, to the game this weekend?
yeah, you play?
Yeah, on the team.
are you cute?
My friend said, yes... he's going on about how 'hawt' I am...
is he gay??? I mean I don't judge
Nah, he's just homiesexual, him and his other best friend. Sadly I'm the babysitter of the group. You?
loner.
oh, damn, welp not a loner anymore.
I guess, your right mistory guy. I'm Y/n... I know it's forbidden to say our whole name.
yeah, sucks, I'm Keiji.
Nice to meet you
you too. Your friend nudged your arm.
"hm?"
"What's going on?"
"Oh, he's on the volleyball team."
"Ou, see if Akaashi is single."
"No."
"What?"
"Not your messenger or cupid."
"Uh, fine."
"Hello class, today we're gonna be talking about depression, what is it?"
So... is your class more interesting than mine?
uh, not unless you're talking about the human body.
nope. d e p r e s s i o n.
oh, god, ha... uh, good luck!
You furred your brows did he just... hang up? You looked at the teacher, as she looked around the class. "Ah, Ms. L/n. Your opinion?" You gulped looking around.
"Why would she know?"
"Yeah, she's literally Ms. Happy." You bit your lip and looked at the teacher.
"Well?"
"I uh, feeling hopeless?" You laughed it off, fake it till you make they say, well, I'm still faking it every day, did I make it? I'd be doing time if being sad was a crime, I'd be ahead a whole mile if loneliness was a race.
"Uh, huh? Is that all?" What the hell does she want me to say? Oh, yeah, I'm fine! Aside for the not sleeping, the jumpiness, the constant overwhelming crushing fear that something terrible is about to happen.
hypervigilance.
what?
the persistent feeling of being under threat.
it's not just a feeling though. "L/n?" Its... it's like a panic attack. You know like I can't even breathe.
like you're drowning?
Yah.
so... if your drowning... and you're trying to keep your mouth closed... until that.. very. last. moment. What if you chose to not open your mouth? To not let the water in?
you do anyway it's a reflex.
but... if you hold of... until, that reflex kicks in, you'll have more time right?
not much time...
But more time to fight your way to the surface
I guess.
more time to be rescued?
more time to be in agonizing pain, you know when you're drowning, you don't actually inhale until right before you blackout... The instinct to not let any water in is so strong that you won't open your mouth until you feel like your heads exploding, and when you finally do let it in, that's when it stops hurting.
"L/n? Last chance." You looked around at the class then at your teacher.
"Sorry, teach, I don't know."
"Told you."
"Why would she know." You frowned a bit before putting on a smile.
"Sorry." She gave you a look and shook her head.
"Okay, anyone else?"
if it's about survival... isn't... a little agony worth it?
what if it just gets worse? What if it's agony now and then... then it's just hell later on?
well, I don't know...
Yeah, shouldn't you be focusing on the human body? I'll keep my thoughts to myself. Bye.
You tried focusing on your work, but you couldn't, his words kept floating into your head.
you're not alone, you know. Not anymore, not ever.
Once school was over you walked home with your head down. You sighed and stopped at your door, opening it softly, you closed your eyes and sighed before taking in the sight of your mother on the couch crying. You grabbed a blanket and covered her up, you went to walk away but she grabbed your arm. "It's your fault." You removed your arm and walked upstairs.
My fault?! You slammed your bedroom door behind you, throwing a picture frame at a door. "How the hell is that man leaving my fault?!" You yelled at no one particular.
uh, hey, I'm at practice right now...
sorry, sorry... I forgot you hear shit... just ignore me... You flopped down on your bed and cuddled up to your old stuff animal.
I, shit, look... listen to me, okay? Don't let them take away your smile. I may not know you, or anything about you. Just... I can feel your pain, okay?
feel my pain? Just let me be sad. Okay?
Do you really think I'd let you be sad? And I know it's been a rough one lately, but you're not alone now. Just... talk to me. I'm here. You don't know why, but for the first time in a long time, you didn't feel alone. You opened up to him, and he opened up to you, he didn't care you were literally ruining his practice. He just wanted you to know you weren't alone.
--
When the game came around, your friend dragged you to the gym. I'm here. You looked around, your eyes met a black-haired spiky boy with blue eyes, Keiji, are you looking at a girl right now? I just... I'm looking at this really cute spiky black hair male with blue eyes, and I just... I feel like it's you...
H/c, e/c, you're Y/n L/n, right? The ms. Happy? Wow, you really are beautiful.
You both smiled to yourselves, he walked over to you and smiled. "Hi, how about I introduce myself, I'm Keiji Akaashi, and you are?"
"I'm Y/n Ln." You said smiling, a real smile, you held out your hand. "Your soulmate." He smiled too, shaking your hand.
"Nice to meet you." Your friend watched you two and frowned. "I, uh, it feels nice to have you out of my head, but..."
"Feels empty huh?" You both laughed. "Then let's just say what's on our minds. All the time."
"Deal." He looked back at his friends. "Wish me luck?" You leaned up kissing his cheek.
"Good luck, Keiji." He smiled to himself.
"Before I go. Uh, you once asked if I was cute, what do you say?"
"I'd say your friend was right you are hot." He laughed nodding his head smiling as he walked back to the court.
"No way in hell, Akaashi is your soulmate, you're a loner." You rolled your eyes looking at her.
"You're just jealous he's not yours." You sat down watching their game, your friend walked off, you sighed watching her walk away.

New Boxer Beat Chapter’s out! boxer-beats.com
Boxer Beats was almost at the finale, again. Foxie and Lesbuni sat together, despite the larger crowd and tight seating, Lesbuni always made sure there was room for Foxie and her guard. However, the bunny could tell Foxie wasn’t feeling her best. “I’m sorry about the other day... are you still upset?” Foxie watched the show, looking empty. “It’s not a big deal. There’s just a lot going on right now.” Lesbuni hugged her arms around her girlfriend, “Well I’m here to make it better!” After a few more fights, it was Foxie’s turn. “Are you... dressing up for this match too?” Lesbuni wondered, “I-It’s fine, whatever you want to do...” Foxie smiled, she was glad to see Lesbuni knew not to control her, and to try accepting her instead! Like anyone else, Foxie just wanted to be herself. Or, in this case, someone else. ...But it still counts as being herself! Right? Foxie got dressed into her Anomaly outfit, and already she felt so much happier! The hamster announcered, “Laaaaaadies and women, girls too - welcome to one of the last fights of the nights!” The gals in the audience cheered in excitement. “And all you guys out there...” The men in the audience looked up, Oxnard smiled and casually said or asked, “Sup?” The guys mumbled in response, also casually. “And to all my not-guy and not-girl pals in the audience...” “Are you just going to group us all in one category?” A chameleon under the booth yelled out in response. “Nope!” Oxnard huffed, “I’m going to read out each type I have listed here and give everyone a semi-interesting starter. And then when I’m done, I’ll listen to whoever tells me that I forgot to include someone.” “Anomaly, you can start the fight while I read all these.” Oxnard waved his wrist at him to start.
“Good luck, Anomaly.” Don Badge waved from the audience, his big red nose pointing in the air, and a great big smile shining underneath. “You’re Don’s favorite.” “Awww...” Anomaly sighed, he loved having fans! “Why don’t you come see me after the show sometime, little buddy?” Anomaly winked in Don’s direction. “Um. Hey!” From the other side of the audience, Lesbuni growled. “What? I know you don’t wanna see me after the show... but I’ll show you inside of me after~” The audience got a good laugh out of that, it sounded dirty! But that was Anomaly saying he’d be back to Foxie after... right? “Don wants. To see you. Always,” the badger rang back. “You stop that!” Lesbuni yelled, “I’ll come over there and beat you so bad, I’ll wind up in jail too!” “Hey guys, come on, there’s enough split personality here for everybody’s body.” Anomaly awkwardly grinned, “I’m supposed to be the one fighting up here, not the audience!” “Oxnard’s taking too long!” A chameleon in the audience spoke up again. “The audience isn’t being patient!” Oxnard yelled back. “Don’s hitting on my girlfriend!” Lesbuni cried and started climbing over seats. “Don has. The fox hots.” It was chaos. Everyone was fighting, and Anomaly was still without a fight of their own on stage! But finally, the lights dimmed and focused on the entrance, where a chubby, round figure stood unwillingly. “WELP. THEY FOUND ME. GUESS I GOTTA FIGHT.” It was Anger Mouse! It looked like the mouse didn’t want to fight, the Do-Gooder following him kept patting his back, nudging him up on stage, “You can quit the fight if you don’t want to do it.” “WHO SAID I DON’T WANNA FIGHT?” Anger Mouse yelled up in response. “Then why were you hidin-” “I WASN’T HIDING. LET’S FIGHT, ANATOMY.” The fat purple rat hopped into the boxing ring. Anatomy, er, Anomaly, raised an eyebrow. Did this mouse really want to fight? “ALRIGHT. IT’S BOXING TIME.” Anger Mouse announced, “WE’RE DOING DODGEBALL.” Suddenly, a bunch of bouncing rubber balls fell from the ceiling, most bounced out of the ring right after landing in there. “GAH! GOSH DARN IT. Stupid balls.” Anger Mouse complained. “YUP, WELL, y’know the rules, don’t ya?” He whispered to Anomaly, looking sincere, “You just gotta hit me with balls to win the match. COUGH COUGH. AHEM. SO LET’S FIGHT, WITH OUR BALLS.” The audience all stopped fighting, they wanted to watch this! Anomaly picked up a dodgeball, “Um, is the referee going to come out and tell us to start? Or... do we just start?” Oxnard announced over the speakers, “Aro’s in the bathroom. Just fight!” Somewhere out there, Aro the referee was quite embarrassed, hearing the speakers from the announcer echo into the restroom. No one needed to know that! Anomaly shrugged, eyeing Anger Mouse to make sure he was ready, and threw! ...But he missed. Anger Mouse waited for Anomaly to find another ball and throw it, but he missed again. “HEY, COME ON, AIM A LITTLE.” The fat rat picked up a ball! And then he, he... rolled it to Anomaly? “TRY AGAIN.” The fox threw again, but it went right over Anger’s head. “WHAT’S THE DEAL? YOU CAN’T THROW?” “You’re too short!” “WHAT!?” Anomaly picked up a ball outside the ring, and came back in only to... roll it over to Anger Mouse. “If you’re so good at throwing, prove it.” Anger Mouse confidently picked up the ball, leaned back to throw, aaaand... dropped it. “HA! YOU CAN’T trick me THAT easily...” his voice started to crack and squeak. At this rate, no one was going to get the other out. “Come on F- uh, I mean, Anomaly!” Lesbuni cheered, “You went to pie school, or whatever. You should know how to throw balls!” “Throwing pies and throwing balls are very different, they’re totally different shapes!” Anomaly panicked, things weren’t looking good. “It’s complicated, you wouldn’t understand!” “TRY USING BOTH HANDS,” Anger Mouse screamed. Anomaly couldn’t handle so many people yelling at him. This wasn’t as fun as his first performance. “Wait... a performance!” Anomaly grinned, anything was more fun as a show. The fox dashed around the ring, collecting balls all for himself. “Watch this, Angry Pants!” Anomaly started juggling three big dodgeballs in his hands, the audience was mildly curious. But then the fox started walking forward, right onto a dodgeball! But Anomaly didn’t slip - he stood on top of that ball as he juggled the others in his paws. He then raised a leg, balancing on one foot! “Hey Anger, keep an eye on these balls for me.” “YOU’RE MISSING A PAIR,” he grumbled as he peeked under the fox’s tutu. “Hey, it’s a costume! Don’t judge me there.” Anomaly giggled, and suddenly lost their balance. “Oh fudge!” “GAH!” As Anomaly landed on his back, the dodgeball under his foot shot forward, right at Anger Mouse! It punted the little guy right off stage - flipping over the ropes and landing on the ground outside the ring. “Anger Mouse is outta the house!” Oxnard exclaimed, “Anomaly, watch out!” The fox on his back looked up, the three balls they were juggling were falling right towards him! “Those balls are coming down on him hard!” “I wish I was in his boots right now.” “Happens to me all the time! What’s the big deal?” With the audience’s eyes all on those balls, Anomaly timed his kicks to knock the first two away. The third was on its way, but the fox reached up and caught it in both his paws. He was safe! “Whew! He did it folks,” Oxnard yelped over the speakers. “That was almost a draw, but Anomaly is goin’ to the finals! That performance was quite a kick in the balls, fella. Watch it next time.” The audience cheered, and Anomaly hopped around happily. He did it! “You’re amazing, Anomaly.” Don cheered from one side. “You’re gonna win it all, Foxie!” Lesbuni squeaked from the other. Anomaly was happy, but hearing Foxie’s name brought him back to reality. It was back to being Foxie with the show over. She wished these moments lasted longer. Foxie was left wondering one more thing about the fight... “HEY!” As Foxie went back to her guard in the hallway, Anger Mouse chased behind her, “WAIT.” The short mouse took her hand as they went through the exit. “Um, what’s up?” Foxie asked the little guy. “YOU’RE GOING TO THE FINALE.” Well, that was obvious. “Yeah... I mean, I won the fight... so, that makes sense.” Foxie nodded. “I DIDN’T try to win.” Anger Mouse grumbled, looking down at the floor. “You didn’t? Haha, I didn’t even realize it... you gave me a lot of chances to hit you, huh?” Foxie thought. “And you almost didn’t show up at all!” “I WAS HIDING. I WAS GONNA GIVE YOU THE MATCH.” Anger Mouse sighed, “I didn’t want everyone to watch me lose. But...” Anger Mouse rubbed his face, was he sad? What was going on? Foxie pat his head gently, she almost forgot, this loud little guy was just a little kid. “What’s wrong?” Foxie leaned down to ask. “DON IS MY FRIEND. I GUESS. SO... Y-YOU GUYS... GET TO BE IN THE FINALS TOGETHER.” Anger Mouse sniffed, “HE WANTED TO SPEND THIS WHOLE COMPETITION WITH YOU. THAT’S THE REASON WHY HE JOINED. THAT, and I asked him. I thought we would be on a team...” Anger Mouse lost on purpose, so that Don and Foxie could be together in the finale? “Oh, Anger... you didn’t have to do that.” Foxie smiled sympathetically. “HE’S GONNA FORGET ALL ABOUT ME.” Anger Mouse shrieked with a high-pitched scream, “HE WANTS TO BE FRIENDS WITH YOU INSTEAD. DON’S THE ONLY ONE THAT CARES ABOUT ME. I’LL BE FORGOTTEN BY EVERYBODY.” “Anger, no... that wouldn’t happen.” Foxie rubbed his back, looking at either of their guards to step in... but no such luck. She felt like she was playing mommy. “If Don and I become friends, we can all be friends together!” “Y-YOU’LL join us?” Anger asked, sounding hopeful. Were Anger and Don in a club? Well, whatever made him happy again. Er, wait, was Anger Mouse ever happy? “Sure, I’ll join you guys. We’re all boxing prisoners here.” Anger Mouse squeaked and grinned wide, clapping his gloves together. “Heeee!” You know, when he wasn’t being an angry brat, this rat was kind of cute. “THANKS LADY.” Anger Mouse went towards to his guard and reached for his hand, “GOOD LUCK WITH DON. KICK HIS BUTT!” The chubby mouse chuckled and walked off into the hallway. Was Foxie supposed to beat Don? Or... if he was a fan, maybe it was his dream to be on stage with Foxie in the finale? Foxie felt happier as she left for the night, “For a pair of bad guys, Don and Anger Mouse sure are sweet.”

Damian’s Sister
So I read @unmaskedagain‘s Lady Noire In Gotham and @monkeebratz‘s SMOL DAMIEN MARIBAT AU. Which created this idea.
A tad bit of background info.
Marinette, as well as most of the class, is between 15 and 16.
Damian has barely turned 11, having spent barely a year with the Wayne’s, so some of the things that they are teaching him are slowly root in his mind, which is why in the beginning he will come across as a bit of a lost boy. Not entirely sure of himself but sure of what he wants.
Marinette has the Black Cat Miraculous, and is notorious among everyone in her class for taking phones. Everyone just laughs about it whenever a phone is missing because it is most likely with Marinette.
*Line Break Inc.*
Marinette sighed as she looked around her classmates, everyone very unimpressed. They all realize that their lives are at stake and that a gun is being pointed at Marinette’s head. But Marinette wasn’t panicking, so why should they?
Marinette wasn’t panicking because she realizes that she had died before. While they aren’t pleasant memories, she still knows how it is to die, and she doesn’t panic just because some villain thinks that they can have a large pay day from the people in her class, from the French government.
Only thing is that they never negotiate with terrorist.
So, no. Marinette was not worried. Not for her life. For her parents, yes, she is worried for them. But not her life.
Marinette looked back to her class and see that the men that have surrounded the class with guns, weren’t paying attention to their guns, very much. Allowing Plagg to slip in and go through the guns, doing whatever it is that Plagg will do to cause luck on their side.
“Hey,” The class president called to her class. Every single one of their eyes turned to her, while also keeping an eye on the men in front of them. The men also turn their entire attention on the young Parisian fully ignoring their guns at that point. “Have we or have we not survived akuma after akuma?” The teens straightened their backs and looked more defiant. “And how did we survive them?” Marinette saw Alya and Cholé smirk before the two and every other female kicked the men in front of them, in the pelvic.
Marinette looked away from her classmates as they cause havoc and escape. The man in front of her smirked as he pulled his trigger, causing nothing to happen.
Marinette is so lucky she is Lady Noire.
The Asian Parisian raised a single eyebrow before she kicks the man in his jaw with her heel. Shame she was wearing her flats that day.
She looked around to her classmates and how they captured the group of men. Adrien and Nino were rounding up the guns and putting them a safe distance away from everyone. Ivan and Myléne were sitting on one. Cholé and Sabrina were putting makeup on one, who looks to be happy to be having makeup being placed on him, or her, Marinette wasn’t getting into that. Alya and Alix had one on his knees and were each pulling his arms behind him. Nathaniel had somehow convinced one to pose for him, every time that the guy tried to move Nathaniel would scream about aesthetic, in French. Rose, Juleka, and Lila were talking to one about all of his regrets in life, well Rose was getting him to talk about it and Juleka was there while Lila was digging into for everything that the man said. Kim and Max were arguing over the best way to hold a person down while demonstrating with two different guys.
“Alya, switch me and call it in.” Marinette walked over to where Alya was with Alix and took her spot, planting her foot in the man’s knee cavity and pulled his arm back towards her. Alya walked away and pulled a phone out from somewhere on her body. Marinette wasn’t going to question it. “Adrien, Nino, will you two check on Madam Bustier?”
Their teacher was rather violently knocked out when she took a stand, alone, against the men. They waked her with one of their guns on the side of her head, she fell over and has been bleeding from where she was hit.
It took another twenty minutes before police or paramedics showed up. Twenty minutes listening to Max and Kim argue, of listening to Rose comfort and Lila berate the same man in broken English, of listening to Cholé give the man (or women) makeup tips in perfect English and listening to Nathaniel occasionally scream in French about aesthetic.
Marinette was proud of her class.
Yeah, they could survive in Gotham as long as they were together.
However.
Three hours later, Marinette has winded up alone. She simply got lost in a crowd and thought she had heard her teacher call for her in one direction, the paramedics had slowly cleared the class and the teacher. The mass hysteria of the area, from the police, to the paramedics, even ten different new reporters (some yelling over each other after having set up too close to one another, both looking like they want to destroy the other one with their mic) has caused Marinette to completely miss her class getting onto their bus back to their hotel.
So, Marinette made a mistake and ended up walking down Crime Alley. She admits it is her fault.
And looking a group of three men in the eyes, all of them having knives, Marinette has had it for the day.
“Plagg, transform me.” She felt the power of creation wash over her as she continued to look the men in the eye. “You are all the worst. I just wanted a vacation from my own villain, but instead I had to come here to deal with other heroes’ villains.” They were in such a state of shock she was easily able to take them down tie them up to a light pole and left an anonymous tip on the GCPD website. When she turned around, she saw a jaw dropped Robin.
“Welp. I’m died.”
“No, no you are not.” He quickly countered and started muttering about five different things and he paced back and forth in front of her. He was talking so fast and so low it was hard for Marinette to understand completely.
“Uh, so sorry but I must be going to my temporary home.” Marinette waved to the side before taking her staff and launching herself the other way that she waved. Marinette got all the way to her room, with there being nine girls on the trip Marinette ended up with her own room. She had just closed the window and dropped her transformation when she heard a tapping on her window.
“AH!” Marinette screamed, jumped, and spun around wielding her purse as a weapon. A throat cleared, making Marinette open her eyes, finding Robin there. “Oh, hello.”
“Hello, I wish for you to be my sister.” Robin stepped off of the windowsill and took a step into the room before turning around and closing the window and the curtain.
“What?” Marinette did not know what was happening, do people just adopt other people in the States?
“You’ll get to know who I am under the mask as well as the rest of the dubbed ‘Batfamily’.” He kept his back towards Marinette as he talked.
“Wait.”
“As well a bit more formal training. You are good; however, you could use some work.”
“Stop.” Marinette finally got Robin to stop talking and turn towards her. Marinette also saw how tense he is. His posture, his face. Marinette was sure that if she could see his eyes, she’d see tears welling up in his eyes.
“Do you not wish to be my sister?”
“Well, it’s just that…”
“Yes of course, it was foolish for me to assume.” He turned away from her and clenched his fist at his sides, Marinette swore he had his eyes clenched underneath his mask.
“Robin, stop.” Marinette reached for him and brought him to sit on the bed with her. “I have parents.”
“Better than mine, I’m sure.” He continued to not look at Marinette, his fists tightened even more.
“I was a sort of miracle child. My parents never thought they could have me, or any child.” Marinette brought his face to look at hers.
“You have no siblings?” His fist unclenched as realization came upon him.
“I’d like one though.” Marinette opened her arms to receive a hug. She kept them open while Robin turned away and took off his mask, bringing his hand up to his face to rub at before turning back around, without his mask, and buried his head in her shoulder and wrapped his arms around her middle.
“I have three brothers and one sister as well as two sorts of sisters. But I had no say in them. I had no say in my parents. But I want a say in who my family is. It would mean the world to me to be your brother and your parent’s son.”
Marinette knew that this moment was very delicate. She had to remind him of his own family, but she didn’t know the situation of his family or how they treated him. Marinette sighed as she ran her fingers through his hair, deciding to just be quite for now and talking to Robin either in the morning or the next night.
A knock at the door interrupted the moment. In a second Robin had gotten across the room and hid in the bathroom and had silently closed the door. Marinette just blinked not sure if what she saw was correct. She slowly stood up and got to the door just as the person on the other side knocked again.
Marinette waited for the knocking to finish before opening the door to her teacher.
“Hello, Madam Bustier.” Marinette smiled brightly and subtly kicked her shoes off, to show that she has been there the entire time.
“Hello Marinette. I need you to do bedroom checks. You know where everyone needs to be. My head is still killing me.” Caline Bustier held up a clip board with a sheet with names across the top, room numbers right next to the name, as well as boxes underneath the names and numbers.
“It is a good thing that tomorrow is supposed to be a free day.” Marinette grabbed hold of the clip board and held it to her chest.
“That is another thing. Everyone is supposed to report to me tomorrow, but you mind if they reported to you?” Bustier leaned against the door jam, seeming to have a difficult time to just stand at that point.
“Not at all. Let me just get my slippers to walk around in the hall with, and I can get started on those bedroom checks as well as tell everyone that you will need to rest tomorrow so they will need to report to me.” Marinette backed out of the doorway a tad to start heading towards the bathroom to put her slippers on her feet as well as warn Robin of what was going on.
“Thank you, if anyone has any questions have them email me.”
“Of course. Rest well, Madam.”
“You’ll also need to do a morning check in and check ins through the day tomorrow.”
“How often do I need to have everyone check in with me?”
“Once an hour, use the clip board to keep track of the times.” Marinette nod and ensured that Bustier made it to her room before slipping back into her own and heading to her bathroom.
“Hey, I need to go…”
“Room check, I heard. I know French.” Marinette nodded, he seemed more hesitant.
Marinette after a moment of neither saying anything asked, “Do you need to go home?”
“Yes, unfortunately.” He moved back to the bed and picked up his mask and turned back to her still as hesitant. “I’d like to spend the day with you tomorrow. If you are alright with that?”
Marinette smiled and pulled him into a hug. “I’d love to spend the day with my brother.”

Diabolik Christmas
Everyone x reader Christmas special
"Hnnn...mmm..." Y/N woke up feeling something heavy on top of her. She opened her eyes and tried to move. She saw blond locks in front of her. Shu.
"G'morning, troublesome creature." He mumbled sleepily.
"Good morning, Shu." Y/N smiles.
Shu rolled to her side and without opening his eyes says "There is a gift here in your room. Find it yourself, it's too bothersome to show you where it is...". Then he fell asleep again.
Y/N sighed and chuckled at his usual behavior. She looked around her room and under her bed she found a tiny yellow giftbox with a neat blue ribbon on top. Y/N opened it and inside there was a silver collar with musical notes engraved on it in beautiful shapes.
(Something like this, I couldn't find a better image, Im sowwyyy TwT)
"Thank you, Shu!" Y/N said as she coverd him with an electric blanket. That was his Christmas present from her. He smiled and snuggled even more in it without opening his eyes.
Then she exited the room and started walking to the kitchen. There surely will be some leftovers on the table, right?
On the way two arms snaked around her body from behind and a familiar flirty voice was heard.
"Bitch-chaaaaaan~ Merry Christmas!"
"Laito!" Y/N chuckled and leaned into his embrace.
"Look what I got you!" He happily squealed as he spayed something on her neck.
"Kyaaaah!" She welped in surprise. Then se smelled... perfume? A really nice perfume with vanilla and something else, that made the aroma sweet and sexy at the same time.
"Nfu. Use it wisely!" He chuckled and pecked her cheek, dissapearing as fast as he appeared. She will give him the fancy watch she got him later, it seemed.
Y/N blushed and smiled, putting the perfume in her pocked as she finally reached the kitchen. There a pile of deleicious food awaited her, a certain black-haired vampire with glasses was turning the leftovers from Christmas Eve into masterpieces.
"Good morning, Reiji, and Merry Christmas!" Y/N happily greated.
"Aaah, good morning, Y/N! And Merry Christmas. He smiled as he gestured towards to table, inviting her to sit.
She sat down and in front of her were served delicious dishes - steak with vegetables, fruits with whipped cream, baked apples and candies. Her eyes filled with joy.
"Ah! I almost forgot!" Y/N handed Reiji a blue giftbox with silver-red ribbon. His facial expression became somewhat happy and excited in a really childish way. Inside the box was a... blue baggy sweather?
"You are always dressed up in a formal manner... Why don't you wear more comfy clothes once in a while?" Y/N happily said as she looked at him. He had already put on the sweater and looked so cute. They both smiled.
"But where are my manners?" He asked himself as he gave her a tiny black box. She opened it and inside was a silver ring with a big sapphire on top.
"It's so beautiful!" She said as she put it on.
"I'm glad." Reiji smiled and handed her a cup of tea. Y/N thanked him and took a sip. When she looked around again, Reiji was nowhere to be seen.
"Hm? They dissapear and appear so fast!"
She looked around the kitchen for more leftovers to eat and saw a bunny plushie and a note attached to it. "This is Lilly. Me and Teddy decided she will enjoy being your friend." Was written by a certain purple haired vampire. Awww. She has prepared new clothes for Teddy and a fancy, somehow lolita coat for Kanato. She will have to give them to him later.
She then turned towards the exit to walk away and saw a note on the table.
"Oi, Chichinashi. Me and this Kino guy decided to have fun with you. We won't give you you presents so easily - you gotta find them!"
Yup. That's in Ayato's style. And the handwritting was so messy. There was no mistake. Y/N took the note and searched around for something left from Ayato and/or Kino. Almost half an hour later, she decided to search in the pool area. And she found another note on a bench.
"Did you think that we will give you the present so easily, Princess?" You will have to earn it! And swim all the way to the bottom of the pool to get it, hahaha!"
That handwritting was also messy, but still neater than Ayato's. Kino. Of course when these two pranksters somehow find a way to work together, it will be something like this. Good thing that she knew how to swim. She dived in and found a tiny black box on the bottom of the pool. She took it and got out of the water.
She opened it with excitement, only to find another note.
"Hahahaha, you fell for it!" Was written in Ayato's handwritting. "That was just a warm-up, the real present is on the bottom of the lake!" Was written in Kino's handwriting. These two jerks! Urgh!!!
Anyway, Y/N stretched up nicely and prepared herself. She went to the lake and dived into the cold water.
After a few unsuccessful tries she finaly found two red boxes with black ribbons and took them.
Once on land she opened the forst box.
"Ha! I knew you will open Ore-sama's present first! Now you can enjoy my scent whenever you go!" Was written on a card.
In the box there was one of Ayato's old shirts he used for basketball tranings. It was neatly washed, and folded. Heh, guess someone had aked Reiji for help. Was that present a sign of his ownership over her? Knowing Ayato, probably it was. And there were these nice sporty shoes too. They were really comfy and nice! She will play basketball with him after that. She smiled.
Then she opened Kino's present - inside there was a brand new iPhone.
"Now you can download that multiplayer game I told you about and we can play it together, right, princess?" Was written on a tiny card. That looked expensive. But more importantly, it was so sweet too! She will now spend more time with him as well.
Y/N decided she will give them their presents later at dinner - for Ayato a pair of jeans with one of its legs originaly shorter. Just in Ayato's style. And for Kino - a waterproof mini camera. He would love making unique photoshoots with it! She smiled yet again and went to take a shower, so she won't catch a cold after that.
After the shower she went to her room. She found a silver beautiful bracelet with the infinity sign and a tiny note, written in a messy manner.
"Merry Christmas! I wish you health and luck and whatever you mortals wish each other." Aaah, Subaru. Always Tsundere. She had already left his gift in his room. It was only a matter of time for him to find it. A very fluffy white pillow for him to hug in his sleep. She knew he secretly needed to hug something in his sleep.
She looked around her room again. And her gaze landed on her desk. There she found a weird heart? It was made of wires?
"Dear Eve. This is a part of the gift from the Mukami brothers to you. The other parts are in the music room, the garden and the torture chamber. Please seek Yuma for help if you have troubles assembling it. We want you to enjoy finding your gift and constructing it." Was written on a note with neat letters by Ruki, apparently.
Y/N searched all the places she was told and thankfully the Mukamis didn't prank her like Ayato and Kino did. She found 3 other hearts like this, a frame and some more wires.
Somehow she assembled it all on her own and got this:
(Imaginge that instead of "Be mine" is written "Be ours")
It was a night lamp! A very creative one! Now her nights won't be completely dark. She put it on the nightstand and enjoyed its light some more before turning it off again and going to each of the Mukami's rooms to leave them her presents - a professional kitchen knife set for Ruki, fancy jewelry for Kou, this giant encyclopedia about gardening Yuma wanted so much and an ukulele for Azusa.
And as she walked away from Azusa's room, she was suddenly hopped on the back of a certain wolf. "Nii-san is waiting for us!" Shin huffed as he ran really fast through the hallway.
He reached Carla's room where the white-haired man was waiting for them. He handed her a big fancy box.
Inside there was on of those two-pieces paintings.
"This is from our mansion's art collection. Feel honoured and Merry Christmas" Carla explained.
She thanked them multiple times. There was an wide ugly empty space on the wall in her room. Now it will finally be pretty!
"Carla, Shin... Did you find your Christmas presents?"
"Yes!" They cheerfuly said in unison and took out large doggy sweathers, put them on and changed into their wolf forms. They looked so fancy snd royal like that!
They woofed happily and Y/N went to the kitchen, smiling, remembering she has to help Reiji with dinner now. When she passes through the living room, a sleepy Shu pulled her into his embrace. She giggled and hugged back, as she felt Reiji take her hand and kissing it. Then the triplets came - rubbing their noses with hers, kissing her face. Kino appeared from behind and started playing with her hair. The Mukami brothers also joined in the kissing and hugging, as two way too familiar wolves came and snuggled with her. Subaru came out of nowhere as well.
Before she knew it, she was squished between 13 demons, who showered her with kisses and love, feeling like one big, big family.
Merry Christmas and Happy New year!
Sorry that there are no pictures for some of the presents. Tumblr has limit of 10 photos per post...

This is a fic I’ve been writing on study breaks that you have probably all already seen at this point. I’ve affectionately named it the Goblin Brain Fic because it’s helping my brain actually get motivated for studying. I’ve slightly edited it for wording and grammar, but not for content from my previous posts. Feel free to send in asks to direct it because I’m not 100% sure where this is going and you can help decide if you feel so inclined! You can see the process I went through to build this at this link.

Janus had a couple of seconds to regret every decision he’d made in the past few hours before Roman’s car hit the water. He’d managed to brace himself enough to not go flying into the front seat, but he still was jerked around by the impact. The airbags in front went off when they hit which was just his luck, and the car immediately began to fill up with water.
Roman and Remus were already struggling to get the airbags out of their way and Remus reached over to release Roman’s seatbelt since he hadn’t been restrained himself. Janus jerked over towards the window to try to roll it down.
It rolled down about 1/8th of the way before the automatic system gave out and the window got stuck. Janus took a split second before he dove for Remus’s bag to grab out a hammer he’d noticed in it earlier and swung at the window, shattering it in two goes.
Roman and Remus had already noticed the broken open window, and so Janus went ahead and pushed himself out of the window and towards the surface. He immediately noticed that there was a figure swimming towards him through the water and tensed for a fight assuming it was one of the people who had been chasing him.
He struck out with a fist, still half blinded by the water in his eyes. There was a started yelp as he felt cartilage snap under his fist. “Hey! Fuck!” the figure said in response. “Janus!”
Janus blinked the water out of his eyes as the familiar, if slightly distorted, voice sunk in. “Lena?” Janus asked as Remus popped his head out of the water next to him. She glared at him, holding her nose with one hand and treading water with the other. “Shit, sorry.” Remus seemed to notice what was happening and swam forward to give her a bit of support.
Roman popped up, sputtering a moment later and smacked Janus across the face.
“Karma,” Lena spat.
“How are you even here?” Janus asked, rubbing his nose.
“Everyone went dark and Logan sent us to go figure out what was going on,” she explained. “Then we saw Roman’s car in a high-speed chase and followed you.”
“Speaking of!” Some other guy’s voice called from a few feet away. “Can I get a bit of help?” One of the men from the other car had popped up out of the water and he was currently wrestling with him.
Remus stayed to help Lena out of the water, but Roman and Janus both swam over to help the guy with Lena drag the first guy from the other car and then the second one out of the water.
“Fred,” the other man with Lena introduced himself while he and Janus trussed up the men from the other car.
“Janus,” Janus answered.
“I figured,” Fred replied.
Janus gave him a confused look.
“You were one of the names The Boss was angrily mumbling about this evening.”
“Yeah, well, Logan can shove it,” Janus grumbled.
Fred didn’t comment; instead he just stood up and looked at the two men tied up on the ground. “Well,” he said. “Lena’s car’s only a 5-seater. Guess you two are going in the trunk. Wanna help me out Janus?”
Janus and Fred hauled the two men into the trunk together despite their muffled protests and Fred slammed the trunk closed.
Roman was looking at Lena’s likely broken nose, but she shoved him away after a bit of fusing. “Where have you three been?” she asked.
“We’ve been busy,” Janus said.
“Too busy to answer your phones?”
“They broke.”
“All of them?” she asked with narrowed eyes.
“Well,” Remus said. “Now that mine is at the bottom of a lake, yeah.”
Fred looked over at her. “What about our communication devices?” he asked.
She blinked. “Boss?” she asked to thin air. There was no response. “Shit.”
“You did just dive into a lake,” Janus pointed out in a drawl.
Lena sighed. “Alright. I guess we’re driving back to base to report in person.”
“We were actually heading to Lincoln,” Janus said crossing his arms.
Lena crossed her arms right back. “Well you don’t have a car anymore,” she pointed out.
“It’s also three against two.”
“Uh,” Roman piped in, “Actually…”
He rounded on him. “Oh, come on Roman,” he snapped.
Roman put his hands up in a placating motion. “Look, dude, dad’s already looking for your brother and we’re sort of at the end of our rope. We can go to base and regroup. We’ll share what we know, he’ll share what he does, we can get another car, and we can start fresh.”
Oh, like Logan would be willing to share anything with Janus. He’d already made it abundantly clear that he didn’t trust Janus. What other reason would he have for trying to get him out of the way when Virgil was missing? Janus would probably be locked in a cell as soon as he got to base so Logan could make sure he didn’t interfere or give his mother information.
He looked over to Remus, hoping for some sort of support but got an apologetic half shrug in response. Four against one then. Of course. They might as well just toss him into the trunk too.
“Fine,” Janus bit out. “Whatever.”
“Fred, you might have to drive,” Lena said, poking at her nose. She winced.
Roman slapped her hand away. “Don’t do that,” he said. “I wish we had ice.”
“We have ice,” Fred said, opening the backseat door.
“Why do we have ice?” Lena said.
“I brought a cooler.”
“What? When? Why?”
“Before we left and in case we got thirsty.” He grabbed a bumblebee covered handkerchief out of his front pocket and turned to get ice out of a small cooler in the back of Lena’s car. He handed the bundle over to her and turned back to Janus and Remus. “You boys are welcome to a drink.”
He did not seem to register the frown Janus sent his way. He just smiled and took the keys from Lena before shooing them all into the car. Janus somehow ended up in the middle seat between the twins. Roman at least seemed sheepish enough to avoid Janus’s gaze whereas Remus continued to blabber like he always did with a big smile on his face. He kept brushing up against Janus as though Janus wasn’t resenting him an unbelievable amount as Fred climbed into the driver’s seat and started the car.
“Come on Jan, don’t pout,” Remus said. “Want something to drink?”
Janus glared at him, but that did not dissuade him.
“Hmm, let’s see. We have apple juice, orange juice, grape juice, a bunch of different Naked Juice flavors (good choice Fred), a few of the Little Hug Fruit Barrels, grape soda, glacier freeze Gatorade, cactus coolers, Capri Suns in a bunch of flavors, and green apple ramunes. Or I can be your mixologist and make you a brand new drink out of this wonderful selection!”
“Say no,” Roman advised out of the side of his mouth.
Janus glanced over at him. “How about any of the Capri Suns,” he said pleasantly.
“Good choice!” Remus responded, handing one over to him. Janus did not check the flavor. He took off the little straw and removed the plastic before stabbing at the juice pouch. To his mounting frustration, the stupid straw kept slipping instead of going through the hole.
“Here,” said Remus, “let me do it for you.” He took the pouch and poked the straw into it before offering it back to Janus with a grin. Janus stared at him for a moment and calmly reached out a hand to squeeze the bottom of the juice pouch. It spurted all over Remus’s face.
“Oops,” Janus said. He took the pouch as Remus sputtered a bit in surprise and turned away to stare through the front window and idly suck on the straw.
“Welp… that means he’s angry at me,” Remus said.
“I never would have guessed,” Roman replied dryly.
Without a word, Janus removed the straw from the pouch and flipped it over so the juice slowly drained right into Remus’s lap. Then he dropped the empty container onto his leg.
“…Well at least I was already soaked from the lake.”
