A collective of “gay furry hackers” has claimed credit for hacking into the Heritage Foundation in opposition to its right-wing political and social proposals for next year, known as Project 2025. Hacking group SiegedSec wrote in a post on social platform Telegram that it was responsible for a cyber attack which secured 200GB of files from the think tank, which included passwords and user information for “every user” on its database. The attack was part of its #OpTransRights campaign, which targets right-wing organisations the group believes have had a significant impact on mitigating trans rights. Other targets include right-wing media outlet Real America’s Voice, the Hillsong megachurch and a Minnesota pastor.

So this happened after the Heritage Foundation leak. It made me chuckle.
SiegedSec has also claimed that it has disbanded.
The Furries have been in the trenches against Fascism for a long time, because it turned out there were some Fascist Furries infiltrating conventions and...Furry cons briefly became a reenactment of the Spanish Civil War except the good guys won this time.
Here's a good podcast on the fight against the Furred Reich.

Mira Lazine at LGBTQ Nation:
Yesterday, a group of “gay furry hackers” known as SiegedSec released 200 gigabytes of leaked data from the Heritage Foundation on their Telegram, a group texting application. “This breach can help shine light on who exactly is supporting Heritage, and also encourage people to fight against them even more than before,” said a member of the group known as “vio” to LGBTQ Nation. “I believe it’s also worth noting, this could help show the amount of support Heritage has that’s provided by malicious users or bots from China,” she said while linking to a thread on X by journalist Jackie Singh, which analyzes the leak’s data.
The leak resulted from a string of hacks carried out by the group’s “#OpTransRights,” which targets groups opposed to trans civil rights. The Heritage Foundation in particular was targeted for its creation of Project 2025, a plan to install ultraconservative policies if former President Donald Trump wins the 2024 presidential election. Project 2025’s desired policies include strong restrictions on transgender care and denying any legal recognition of trans people’s gender identities. LGBTQ Nation obtained access to the leaked data. It contains information from between 2007 and 2022, and it focuses primarily around the Heritage Foundation’s news wing, The Daily Signal. The data includes information on commenters’ email and IP addresses, along with information regarding those who had articles posted on the site.
[...] SiegedSec has targeted other groups and individuals earlier this year as part of #OpTransRights, including the ultraconservative outlet Real America’s Voice and a Minnesota church pastor who was accused of transphobia.
Project 2025 architects The Heritage Foundation got targeted by a gay furry hackers collective called SiegedSec. These heroes shined a light on Heritage’s bigoted ways.

A group of gay, furry hackers called SiegedSec have breached far-right media outlet Real America’s Voice. The right-wing media outlet, owned by secretive businessman Robert Sigg, regularly platforms far-right commentators like Steve Bannon and Charlie Kirk, as well as playing host to conspiracy theories – including COVID-19 misinformation, 2020 election conspiracies, and QAnon, as well as transphobic content. It was targeted by SiegedSec for (in their words) “spreading misinformation and transphobia.” SiegedSec reported the hack – which is part of an ongoing campaign called OpTransRights – via their Telegram channel, saying that they released the personal information of over 1,200 app users, including their full names, phone numbers, and email addresses: a process known as “doxxing”. The data also includes information about the show’s top hosts: Kirk, Bannon and also Ted Nugent.

Self-described “gay furry hackers,” SiegedSec said it released the data in response to Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, a set of proposals that aim to give Donald Trump a set of ready-made policies to implement if he wins this fall’s election. Its authors describe it as an initiative “to lay the groundwork for a White House more friendly to the right.”
More! More gay furry hacking!

The hacktivist collective SiegedSec, previously responsible for leaking the info of a bunch of people who subscribed to a far-right media outlet, breaching the computer systems of various anti-trans state governments, and infiltrating a nuclear lab to demand catgirl research, has done it again. This time, as part of what the group calls #OpTransRights, they have targeted the conservative Heritage Foundation think tank, obtaining and leaking the passwords, email addresses, and full names of the site’s users, according to cybersecurity outlet SC Media. The group posted to its Telegram channel on Tuesday to announce the hack, which they say was the culmination of seven days of hacks of various entities, “from NATO to Israel.” SiegedSec called the Heritage Foundation “among the most influential public policy organizations,” and cited the organization’s key role in creating Project 2025, a proposed blueprint for a conservative takeover of the U.S. government in the event that Republican nominee Donald Trump wins reelection this November. The Heritage Foundation has a long history of pushing for anti-LGBTQ+ policy, from opposing same-sex marriage to spreading anti-trans disinformation to backing voter suppression efforts. Among many other nightmare scenarios, the Project 2025 proposal includes calling for the Food and Drug Administration to reverse the approval of the abortion pill mifepristone and create a “pro-life task force to ensure that all of the department’s divisions seek to use their authority to promote the life and health of women and their unborn children.” Project 2025 also calls for the outlawing of “pornography,” which has become widespread conservative shorthand for anything “concerning sexuality and gender that they say is harmful to children,” as Melissa Gira Grant recently wrote for The New Republic.
Accordingly, in its Telegram message, SiegedSec wrote, “Project 2025 threatens the rights of abortion healthcare and LGBTQ+ communities in particular. so of course, we won’t stand for that!” punctuating with a “^-^” emote to boot. The group claimed to have gained access to the Heritage Foundation’s database, “with user data, logs, and other juicy info :D.” “mew mew i wonder what would happen if we leaked the passwords, email addresses, and full names of every user :3 every US government employee, even the Heritage president Kevin Roberts,” the message continued, ending with the classic adage, “be gay do crime~” In a comment provided to Them over Signal, SiegedSec representative vio said that the organization targeted Heritage Foundation for two main reasons. “it shines light on people who support an organization built on hatred, the freedom of the everyday person is threatened as long as Heritage continues leading Project 2025,” they said. They also added that SiegedSec’s attack has “encouraged more people to step up and fight.” “we have received countless messages from other hackers, activists, and even organizations who wish to support the fight against Heritage,” vio said. “with this overwhelming support to stop Project 2025, i believe its actually possible to stop them before more rights are threatened.” They added that it was particularly important for SiegedSec to target the Heritage Foundation “to show everyone what we stand for.” “we want to support LGBTQ+ people and other minority groups however we can, and we can demonstrate that by targeting the people who hate them most,” they said.

gay furries vs republicans
so the shit with sieged sec and that stupid fucking project 2025 is so funny to me, esp the messages between vio and mike hoewell (misspelled intentionally) which you can find here: https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2024/07/anti-lgbtq-leader-rages-at-gay-furries-who-hacked-his-orgs-website/
because like. the thing republicans like those assholes don't realize is that money can't buy everything, and they can't always bribe the very people they're oppressing into silence or compliance. also assuming all us furries are zoos??? fuckin nasty as shit. and idk if it's just me, but saying smth about the hacker getting "pounded in the ass in federal prison" almost sounded like a threat. could just be me, but it wouldn't surprise me if politicians like that would pay people to assult people in prison
on another note, asking a far-right asswipe what they think about vore is the ultimate power move, made me laugh my ass off. wish we had more people like seigedsec around that aren't afraid and have the ability to stand up to oppressors like that. that being said, i wish all those hackers luck in all their future endeavors now that the group is dismantled.
tldr? republican asshole who's trying to take away lgbtq+ rights got hacked and owned by gay furries and then acted like a whiney baby about it
