nothing crazy really

you first met suna rintaro in middle school

he sat behind you and often slept in class

you found out that you lived a few houses down from him when he went on his first away game for volleyball, and your homeroom teacher tasked you with delivering his assignments to his home

that's really it honestly

you didn't really interact with him much in middle school

though, after your second year, you had to move due to your parents' having to relocate for work

and that's how you ended up at inarizaki high school

little did you know that you would see suna again in your class on your first day at inarizaki!

morning of the first day, you walked into the classroom and saw someone napping in the last seat in one of the rows

it was a nostalgic sight, you thought, but there's noooo way that it's suna rintaro! he's all the way in another prefecture!

you pick the seat in front of him because you thought it was funny

your homeroom teacher started taking attendance

"suna rintaro?"

"here"

rintaro???

from middle school?????

right when the lunch bell rang, you turned around

"hey"

he looked at you

"...do i know you?"

"yeah? i think? are you from aichi prefecture?"

"yeah? .... wait didn't we go to the same middle school?"

turns out he was scouted to come to inarizaki to play volleyball

you exchange numbers and start actually hanging out, as opposed to middle school

though, some things don't change as he still sleeps in class and you still have to give him his homework when he has volleyball games

you two have lunch together, sometimes being joined by miya osamu, and play cup pong

your friendship MIGHT be on the line whenever you play 8ball

like, it's to the point where your memes outnumber your actual texts

like it can range from anywhere between kirby memes to rick rolls to posts that poke fun at each other

he's honestly just a really funny friend, and you never thought anything of it

it wasn't until one day during your club activities where you and a few of your friends were chatting that you ever considered looking at suna romantically

they were talking about their own crushes and asked if anyone caught your eye

and when you responded "no," they brought up suna's name

and the idea was bizarre to you

like you?? and suna??? together???? more than friends?????

this guy literally sends you patrick star memes at 2am and asks "this you?"

pshhh impossible no way

but... you can't really stop thinking about it

because wHAT IF HE'S TREATING YOU LIKE THIS BECAUSE HE LIKES YOU????

anyways!

you start noticing the little things he does for you, like getting you your go-to drink/bread for lunch without asking you, or giving you random head pats, or him coming over to your house on a stormy day when you're alone in the house to keep you company

you stare up at your ceiling, deep in thought

no y/n, stop getting delusional. he doesn't like you like that.

you have a bigger problem at hand

the school dance is tonight

and you have NO ONE to go with!!!

you feel your phone vibrate

it's a text from suna

"open the door"

you raise an eyebrow when you open the door to see suna staring at his phone in front of you

he looks up, types something on his phone, and looks back up to you again

you feel your phone vibrate, and look at what it was this time

"wanna go together?"

you look back up in surprise, only to see him holding a bouquet of your favorite flowers up in front of you

he had his head turned away, but you saw the way the tips of his ears turned red

you felt your cheeks turn scarlet as you took the flowers from him and gave him a hug

he simply patted your head and gave you a small smile

this guy, who sends you memes at the most strangest of hours, MIGHT have a crush on you

and you MIGHT like him back

you two don't make it official until after he brought you back home

he texted you when he got back home and when he was going to bed

but not without sending one last meme for the night

it was an image of kirby looking out the window with a sad expression with the caption: "me when i miss u"

you liked the message and typed out a response, lingering on the send button for a bit before sucking it up and pressing send

"soooo when are you gonna ask me?"

he responded with another kirby meme, this time of angy kirby with hearts around his head

"be my gf?"

nothing between you and suna changed much

he isn't really an affectionate guy, but his actions speak volumes

lunch with him is still the same, and he still gives you little head pats whenever he feels like it

its just that now, he brings you closer and rests his chin on your head whenever he stands around you

sometimes he wraps his arms around you!!!

he rests his head on your shoulder when he naps during train rides

his favorite passtime is to take naps with you in his arms

he gives you a little forehead kiss and mumbles a "love you" before he drifts off

Everyone at Inarizaki knew the Miya twins. And then they found out about the Miya siblings.

When you first came to Inarizaki, walking around with their man (aka Atsumu and Osamu), the Miya fangirls immediately took notice. At first, they thought you were a girlfriend—until they learned the shocking truth: the Miya twins have a younger sister?!

That’s when the befriending attempts began. They’d wait outside your classroom, invite you to lunch, and you honestly thought they ?? just really wanted?? To be friends you?? It felt really nice!

But the moment they opened their mouths, it was all, “Eeeeeek! Your brothers are soooo hot!!!”

And you were just like, ‘oh’ ‘🧍‍♀️😑’

 Yeah those ‘friendships’ did not last very long… 

—-And obviously you were popular with amongst the boys. The Miya curse I fear. Samu did nawt approve of your new popularity lol. Tsumu was jealous that people were talking about YOU and not HIM lmao— tho tsumu LOVES bragging about you/showing you off. He’s like ‘oh yeah my baby sister can do this!—‘ ‘welll MYYY sister can do that better than YOURRR sister’

Anywho the twins love having you at the same school!!! Atsumu always stops by your class during breaks either to talk to you or just piss you off lmao. Osamu ends up being your unofficial walking schedule lol (not that surprising tbh) ‘Ain’t ya supposed to be in the library?’ ‘Didn’t ya say ya had a quiz today?’ ‘Why are ya here? Don’t ya got PE?’ He flicks your forehead (affectionate) and is like ‘get to class’ 🙄+😐

When it comes to typical overprotective older sibling behavior, Osamu takes the crown. He’ll literally insert himself into any conversation you have with a guy—every. single. time. It’s actually the worst. He will embarrass you and terrify the guy. One time a guy came over, all confident trying to talk to you. Before you could even react, Osamu literally stepped in front of you, staring the guy down like he was an inconvenience to his entire existence.

Then with the most uninterested, deadpan expression ever, he just like ‘no’

He won’t let anything start 😒 you def ignore him after he pulls shit like that. He dgaf tho lmao

Atsumu, on the other hand, is like your wingman, sorta.. He hypes up your crushes, encourages the flirting… but the second things actually start progressing (ex:lovey-dovey texts, potential boyfriend territory, lingering touches), he’s suddenly all up in your business—and the poor guy’s too. He’ll casually throw an arm around both you and the guy, all smiles, and go, ‘So, how’s it goin’?😁’

you’re glaring daggers at him your eyes screaming ‘Tsumu, istg I’m gonna kill you’ and the guy’s practically slithering away while you whisper-scream at Atsumu while he acts all innocent. Oooooor he’ll just shriek and yank you away saying how ‘yer too little for boys’, while glaring at said guy.

But if you ever wanna hang out with anyone he’ll try to set smth up for ya!! (As long as he approves of who)

Osamu is nawt good at trying to show his love 🧍‍♀️ his love languages are quality time, acts of service, and physical touch (sorta, he’s not rlly good at it but wants to be close yk?). Like he won’t initiate (most the time) but if you hug him he’ll hug you back. He just like asks if you want him to take you somewhere or smth. He shows his care for ya n tsumu by making food all the time, it’s what he’s good at and loves, and loves that you both love it. He also always wants to be there for ya. Samu is great emotional support, he doesn’t say a lot but says EXACTLY what you need to hear. Will just sit with you and let you get what you need off your chest. He’ll put his arm around you and rub up and down. 

Atsumu is very unique at showing his love 🧍‍♀️ his love languages are physical touch, words of affirmation, and quality time. When you were little Atsumu and Osamu would both hold your hand when you would walk around, and when you got older and wouldn’t hold his hand anymore he was so sad 😭🙏 he’s a hugger, but he’s still your older brother, so he’ll like mess your hair up then hug you lmao. Always asks if you wanna practice with him, he always feels cool teaching you something new :)

Atsumu is also your number one hype man like if you ever feel like you can’t do smth tsumu has a whole list of just exactly why/how you can. He’s not even trying to make you feel better it’s what he genuinely believes :)

Oh and they are both way too invested in any drama you’re involved in/even just aware of. The second you run into the room and announce, “I’ve got tea,”they’re already locked in, heads propped on their hands, eyes wide like you’re about to deliver the most important news of their lives.

The Last Braid

contains: brother! Kita Shinsuke, mentions of suna x reader genre: fluff, comfort synopsis: You're getting married, and the nervousness washes over you. As you prepare for the big day, your brother Shinsuke steps in to braid your hair one last time. a/n: very old and I had to label the doc 'wajib tulis bego' which means you better write it you incompetent piece of shit 😞

"Y/N," your brother, Shinsuke, called out as you turned away from the mirror and faced him at the door. The bridesmaid sensed the need for privacy and excused herself, leaving just the two of you in the room. Shinsuke took a step closer to you.

"Shin? What are you doing here?" you asked, puzzled. "Shouldn't you be in Rin's room right now?"

"Why would I be there when my sister is here? I'm the one who will be walking you down the aisle, after all. And also..." He guided you toward the vanity, pulling out a chair for you to sit. "I'll do your hair one last time before Suna takes over that role," he chuckled. "Do you have any specific requests?" he asked, gently brushing your hair.

"Anything will do, Shin. I trust you," you replied, smiling at the reflection before you, reminiscing about the days when he used to style your hair daily.

"Are you nervous?" Shinsuke asked as he began dividing your hair into sections.

"A little bit. I mean, it's normal to feel nervous on your wedding day, right?" you responded, fidgeting with your fingers. While Shinsuke focused on his task, he picked up on your nervous habit. He knew something was bothering you.

"You know, the best way to overcome that nervous feeling is to talk about it," Shinsuke remarked, recognizing that you had something on your mind. You took a deep breath and started sharing your worries.

"It's just... what if I'm not good enough for him? What if I'm not ready for this huge step?" you confessed, your voice trembling slightly.

Shinsuke paused for a moment, then resumed braiding your hair, his movements gentle and soothing. "Y/N, you've always been enough. Suna knows that, and that's why he chose you. And as for being ready, no one ever feels completely prepared for big life changes. It's okay to be nervous."

"But what if I mess up?" you asked, your eyes meeting his in the mirror.

"Then you mess up. And you learn from it. But you won't be alone. You'll have him, and you'll always have me," Shinsuke reassured you, finishing the braid and securing it with a delicate pin.

You felt a wave of calm wash over you, the familiar sensation of your brother's support grounding you. "Thanks, Shin. I needed that."

Shinsuke smiled warmly, placing a gentle kiss on the top of your head. "Anytime, Y/N. Now, let's get you married."

With a final look in the mirror, you stood up and took a deep breath, feeling more confident and ready for the big moment. As you linked your arm with Shinsuke's, you felt a lump form in your throat. The reality of the day hit you—you were leaving the home you had always known, and the brother who had been your rock.

"Shin... I’m going to miss living with you," you admitted, your voice breaking slightly.

Shinsuke’s expression softened, and he squeezed your hand reassuringly. "And I’ll miss having you around, Y/N. But this isn’t goodbye. You’re starting a new chapter with Suna, and that’s something to be excited about. I’ll always be here for you, no matter what."

Tears welled up in your eyes as you hugged him tightly. "Thank you for everything, Shin. I love you."

"I love you too, Y/N," Shinsuke whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "Now, let’s go make some beautiful memories today."

Together, you stepped out into the hallway, ready to embrace the future and the new life that awaited you with Suna, while carrying the unwavering support of your beloved brother in your heart.

Sabaku No Gaara ❤️ Gaara was one of those characters that I loved from the first moment and who accompanied me throughout my life. I started drawing when I was little to feel closer and make real those characters that populated the books and comics that kept me company. I wanted more than anything that they could speak to me, that they would continue to live outside of the pages they read. As a teenager I must have drawn Gaara a million times, and as I grew older I think I drew him every time I felt I had made a little progress in my technical ability. Today I feel I have made some progress, and for the first time on the canvas I see something that reflects what I imagine when I think of this character. I feel a little moved, as if a circle has been closed.

Another one of my toxic traits is that i thoroughly believe Karura, had she lived, would’ve been the most desi-toxic mother to mother. No more ‘Soft sweet womanly mother-love would’ve saved them all 🥺” the Suna family in my mind pass on mental health disorders through bloodlines like their kekkei genkai.

EDIT I wanna elaborate on this actually. I think she would’ve raised her kids up to be militant Suna shinobi like literally everyone in the family. I think she was stubborn and authoritarian and prideful and fiery and jaded like Rasa. They loved each other fiercely for a reason. I think they both had serious mental health issues and just a bad idea in general on how to be People as you would yknow, in a generation-long culture of child soldiers. Just because two people love each other doesnt mean they have a sunshine and rainbows nuclear family relationship, especially in their culture where those emotions were probably frowned upon.

"rin," tsugoku's voice shakes as she talks. rintarou's amazed she called. it's been almost a year since they last spoke. "hey. um, I-I need- mom and dad, they kicked me out. I just- I need a place to stay. just for one night. I can figure it out after that- I wont be a bother at all, I swear-"

"tsu, slow down. breathe. where are you? are you hurt?" rintarou asks. osamu tilts his head, a silent question.

rintarou can hear her gasping breaths. "yeah, I'm fine. physically. I'm at the train station. the one closest to mom and dad's. I didnt know where else to go."

tilting his wrist, rintarou checks the time, his apple watch flashing on at the movement. 10:30 at night. it'll take a couple hours to get there. he stands up and grabs his keys, osamu trails after him.

"do you feel comfortable waiting there? I'll come pick you up. you can stay at my place for however long you need."

"no, you- I can meet you half way. I bought a ticket."

rintarou sighs. "okay. text me the address and I'll meet you, okay? you're sure you're going to be okay alone?"

"I'll be fine." tsugoku breathes out. "shit. my phones gonna die. I'll call you back."

"stay safe, tsu."

"I will."

rintarou slides his phone into his pocket and turns to tell osamu where he's going.

osamu holds out his hand. "I'll drive."

rintarou scoffs. "no, you have to work in the morning. go to bed."

"you don't like driving at night. besides, you'll be able to answer if she calls," osamu argues and shakes his hand, still asking for the keys.

rintarou frowns and gives him. he could kiss osamu if he weren't so worried.

it feels like tsugoku has been waiting for hours. her phone says it's been only three minutes.

her leg bounces as she sits on the cold plastic of the cheap bench outside. she feels exhausted, but her eyes stay wide open in search of her brother. her only hope. hopefully the only relationship she can salvage at this point.

cars pass by. her phone stays silent. she checks to make sure she sent rintarou the right address. she even sent her location.

a gray suv pulls up and for a moment she assumes the worst. her heartbeat spikes, fear zapping through her veins before the door opens to reveal her big brother.

tsugoku runs up to hug him, her bag jostling uncomfortably against her back. she slams against him in a full-bodied hug.

rintarou wraps his arms around her, holding tight. he checks her over, studies her face and any glimpse of skin he can see.

a sob losens itself from her chest and more follow along.

rintarou wipes away her tears, offering words of comfort. it won't stop the tears she's been holding back for hours.

he gets her into the backseat, rintarou staying next to her.

it takes tsugoku half an hour to realize that someone else must be in the car if rintarou isn't driving.

and still, she finds that she can't really care about it at the moment.

they arrive to an apartment complex and rintarou keeps an arm wrapped around her as they make their way through the building. she's still helplessly wiping tears away.

rintarou would joke about osamu making his way straight to the kitchen if his mind wasn't so preoccupied with figuring out what happened to tsugoku. she hasn't uttered a word since they picked her up. he can't really tell if the shaking is from the skimpy clothes she's wearing or from her crying, but he still wraps a blanket around her shoulders and offers a box of tissues.

"hey, tsu. whatever happened, I'm here for you," rintarou says softly. he sits on the coffee table in front of the couch, so they're close but he can also make eye contact as needed.

tsugoku mentioned their parents. and rintarou can only assume the worst.

wiping her eyes, tsugoku takes a few steadying breaths. "you were right. and I'm so sorry, rin. if I had known-" her voice cracks.

the words send an uneasy feeling down rintarou's spine. a crawling sensation that sets him on edge. "don't blame yourself for anything that happened to me. that's not for you to apologize for. what happened to you?" rintarou needs to get the topic off of him and their parents.

tsugoku's head falls forward, a fresh wave of tears falling as well. "I told... I came out to them." rintarou's heart twists in pain for her. "I thought... they said they would always love me."

rintarou quickly moves to sit next to her and wraps his arms around her. "I'm sorry," he says softly and holds her head against his shoulder. "I'm so sorry."

silently, osamu places two glasses of water on the table and a plate of snacks. rintarou sends him a look, hoping osamu takes the hint to go to bed so he can get some sleep before he works in the morning.

osamu rolls his eyes but makes his way to the bedroom.

tsugoku eventually pulls herself away and wipes her eyes once again. "I'm sorry. I-I can't believe I'm just bothering you out of the blue-"

"don't bother with that," rintarou replies and nudges a glass of water her way. "you're family, I'll always help you out." her eyes shine at the word. "we only have one bedroom, so unfortunately you'll have to sleep on the couch. we also have a cat who is pretty cuddly, so she may bother you in the middle of the night."

rintarou stands up and stretches, exhaustion getting to him. he gestures to the table. "water and snacks for you. I'll grab you a pillow and blanket. anything in the apartment, you can use or eat or whatever else."

tsugoku nods.

she stays quiet when rintarou comes back with the pillow. "I'll be in my room," he points, "feel free to wake me up. osamu has work in a couple hours, sorry if he wakes you up. and, yeah. good night."

"good night," tsugoku says softly. and as rintarou walks away, she says "thank you" and rintarou just waves a hand.

he'll get more information in the morning. for now she needs sleep.

rintarou curses his parents for hurting his sister just a fraction of the way they hurt him. because she deserved even better than rintarou ever did and got her heart shattered twice as hard for nothing.
