Every umbrella academy character ranked (seasons 1-4)
After that shitshow of a fourth season, i felt it necessary to redo this.
#36 -The Sparrows (Jayme, Alphonso, Fae etc.)
The show had no clue what to do with these characters. They sit around being evil for a little while only to promptly die within four episodes. Also one of them is a fucking cube?!? Whats up with that?
#35 - Sloane
How come she disappears in season 4 but not sparrow Ben? So much of this makes no sense.
#34 -Sparrow Ben
I hate this character with my whole being. He goes around calling people emo as if HE DOESNT WAKE UP EVERY MORNING WITH A SCOWL ON HIS STUPID FACE AND EMO HAIR ON HIS STUPID FOREHEAD. He's so rude and awful and i'm given no reason by the show to give a shit where he ends up.
#33 -Carl Cooper
This one speaks for itself.
#32 -Reggie's wife
The two of them annoyed me so much.
#31 -Viktor
Moochy emo sod. Elliott Page's acting got progressively worse throughout the series (and i like Elliott Page, but this wasnt his best work.)- season 1 Vanya was tolerable, beyond that i couldn't stand this character. All his jokes land flat and he has the charisma of a piece of cardboard.
#30 -Season 4 Five
For the sake of this ranking, i am treating seasons 1-3 Five and season 4 Five as seperate characters. Seems like the writers were doing the same. What the fuck, guys? How do you bulldoze a character this badly?
Season 4 Five was unfunny, selfish, cowardly, and most of all on a different plane of being from the Five we all knew and loved. Screw you, season 4 Five, you're not canon.
#29 -Season 4 Lila
I'm treating Lila the same way. Season 4 Lila was an injustice to seasons 2-3 Lila.
#28 -Harlan
Couldn't care less about him. He represents to me when the umbrella academy started going to shit in season 3.
#27 -Jennifer
Again, we are given no reason to care about her.
#26 -Pogo
He was just there for the exposition. They never explained why Reggie was doing experiments on monkeys??
#25 -Reggie
He was quite a good villain but i still hate him. Really goofy at times, too.
#24 -Jean and Gene
They were quite good actually. If season 4 wasn't a dumpster fire, i reckon they'd have been able to really shine.
#23 -Cha Cha
This is getting into better territory. I liked Cha Cha, she was badass, but not well developed.
#22 -Detective Patch
Again, i liked her, but she wasn't given much time to develop as a character.
#21 -The Swedes
They were funny, whimsical villains that were fun to watch on screen. Funny and whimsical are two adjectives that TUA used to embody.
#20 -Elliott
My guy just wanted to eat fish and be a conspiracy theorist 😔
#19 -Sissy
Welcome back, Sheldon's mum.
In all seriousness, she was well acted despite Viktor's actor giving her nothing to work with, so props to her.
#18 -Dave
WE GOT ZERO MENTIONS OF DAVE IN SEASONS 3-4?!? DESPITE HIM BEING A HUGE PART OF KLAUS'S CHARACTER?!?! WHEN I CATCH YOU WRITERS-
#17 -Destiny's children
I am in fact an active member
#16 -Luther
I have bumped Luther up my list because in seasons 3-4 he sort of embraces his goofiness, but in seasons 1-2 he is an insufferable, incestuous moron. He is up here for good character development and i wished he could have ended up with Sloane.
#15 -Agnes
She was really cute and sweet, i liked her a lot. RIP season 1, you were peak.
#14 -Herb and Dot
They were sweet and funny too, and i miss the whole idea of the time commission.
#13 -Kenny's mum
An honourable mention
#12 -Grace
Grace was super well performed and poignant. I have no issues with Grace.
#11 -Stan
Live, laugh, love Stan. I hate that the trauma of losing him was never mentioned in season 4 for Diego or Lila.
My top 10
#10 -Lenoard Peabody/ Harold Jenkins
I stand by him being one of the best-acted and most cleverly written villains of all time. He is not only a well-executed surprise villain, but a scarily accurate one, and the actor plays him to perfection. We even start to like him before the cracks show. Also he looks like a creepy version of Lin Manuel Miranda.
#9 -Ray
Season 4 did Ray DIRTY. It was completely out of character for him to just walk out. They could have at least have him die in a tragic accident or something. Season 2 Ray is the perfect, most charismatic, ideal man and i hold him in my heart forever and in my head Alison and Ray ended up together.
#8 -Hazel
He had one of the best arcs on the show, period. Continues to represent everything good about the first two seasons of TUA. He was flawed, he was human, he was loveable.
#7 -Umbrella Ben
He seemed like he could have been a brilliant character with more screen time. His sacrifice in season 2 was a genuinely moving moment. The backstreet boys moment is SO FUNNY and his and Klaus's dynamic is something i really miss.
#6 -The Handler
We don't appreciate The Handler enough. The show started rolling downhill as soon as The Handler was gone. She was the glue that held the show together, one of the best villains/antagonists in TV history.
#5 -Allison
Yes, season 3 Allison made some stupid choices and did some terrible things, but a lot of it came from grief and she redeemed herself in season 4 imo. Seasons 1-2 Allison was one of the most charismatic, endearing and empathetic characters on the show.
#4 -Seasons 1-2 Lila
I love you. I miss you. Come back to me.
#3 -Diego
Bumped up the list for being a CONSISTENTLY good character who is flawdd but still extremely loveable and hilarious.
#2 -Seasons 1-3 Five
Seasons 1-3 Five would shoot season 4 Five in the face. He is the daddy here, and season 4 Five is the creepy uncle.
Original Five is a masterfully crafted, hilarious, unique, intelligent character and i will not let season 4 ruin it for me.
#1 -Klaus
This needs no justification.
What do you think? How far do you agree?

hotd: team green or black? (or?)
rhaenys thoughts?
rhaenyra x mysaria…???
house of the dragon asks! VERY LONG ANSWERS AHEAD:
1: team green or black?
there's two answers to this - the intellectual answer, and the team sports answer.
the intellectual answer is that this isn't really "the point." both sides have (and will) lose a great deal. there are no winners in war, only survivors. a petty conflict between the rich will result in the death of many.
on a broader, thematic note, my impression is that a big point of the entire "song of ice and fire" is that the unjust hierarchy of monarchy and feudalism hurts people. especially the lower classes. they are affected when lords flex military might, when they put their own survival above the realm, when they act petty, selfish or cowardly, which they frequently do. the rare "peaceful" ruler does not justify the system. the lower classes also suffer the most in war. but the system hurts everyone - even the royals themselves. they are literally killing each other for power.
THAT. BEING. SAID.
i actually disagree with the take that you can't have some fun with the team sports aspect. this is a fictional television show. Fun is allowed. it's drama! murder! crying and screaming!!!
so while HotD has overall thematic messages, the show encourages you to enjoy the back-and-forth between the characters. i don't begrudge people for their stan wars on twitter. we all know this is a fictional show - and its okay to be ruled by your emotions when watching fiction.
so. with that said? team black, 100%. i think they have more compelling characters and reasoning for their cause. fundamentally, their cause is to put a woman on the throne in a society ruled by traditional patriarchy.
look, i love alicent for her complexity. she is a well-written character who makes sense with her society... but she is not a girl's girl. she is trapped both by external forces of patriarchy and its effect on her own mind. she is stuck fighting for men and fulfilling wifely duties - never fighting for herself.
she seems pretty miserable, at the end of the day.
yes, rhaenyra is also complex. she's often a bad person - but sometimes, i like seeing a strong woman on a dragon do some crimes :) especially one who has had to fight for respect as often as rhaenyra. that's compelling tv, even if Monarchy Bad.
the greens have A Point somewhere, about stability > rhaenyra, but they are also clouded by self-interest. they didn't even TRY supporting a woman. (also, remember, this is emotion/vibes-based.)
the "aagon's dream" misunderstand was initially frustrating, which also makes me side against the greens a bit more. i like when characters are compelled by real, sincere differences in opinion. i dislike when it's just a misunderstanding that can be easily quelled.
and alicent DID have real motivations, previously! she was right that rhaenyra would have reason to kill her children to claim legitimacy - even if that's more of a Matter of War now than a real intention of hers early on.
oh well. one good thing about the misunderstanding is that it didn't actually convince anyone other than alicent. otto hightower and the council were already planning a coup. it seems mostly that it was a good tool to further their cause, not something that actually convinced the masses on a deep, personal level. you can also make the case that alicent "heard what she wanted to hear".
but it doesn't really matter because nobody was going to suddenly switch sides. the material reality is more important: the council wanted aagon. otto wanted to secure his interests. alicent wanted to secure her children's safety. the war is already happening, so alicent's misunderstanding being cleared up doesn't change anything.
and it causes alicent to realize she doesn't really have much power. society around her will keep turning, and her influence is very limited. the rabble may hate or worship her, and she has little control over it. she may be important in the council, or dismissed from it. which is leading her on a compelling arc that i'm interested to see where goes!
2: rhaenys thoughts?
very few! uhh... she seemed nice? i like her death scene?
the show seems to use her symbolically as a shorthand for "what a good woman ruler could be like" for the kingdom. but i don't know if it would've played out that way. it is hard to tell, because if she WAS queen, the society she lives in could have turned against her. or maybe she could have found a way to earn their trust. maybe viserys would've been chill enough to support her claim (probably?). but we don't know. she's The Queen Who Never Was (tm).
3: rhaenyra x mysaria?
ok so, i do actually have a hot take on this, cuz i've seen some call it "rushed." it may ruffle some feathers. here we go:
i dont think every gay kiss has to feel like an "earned" 50k slowburn fic. it's well-established that instant or near-instant attraction is a thing. i dont think it will be "endgame," but i dont think it needs to be.
i think sometimes - often in this show - you see a man and a woman meet and fuck the same night. people tend to just accept that. not every case of attraction has to be based on a Deep Bond of Many Years. sometimes, a man and woman on this show have no real bond, yet as soon as they Walk Close to Each Other, it's accepted "they will fuck that night."
i would also suggest that not everything is literal. it's addressed in canon that rhaenyras' attraction to daemon came hand-in-hand with what he represented to her. which was, in a word, freedom. she wanted to BE him more than anything.
if we take a non-literal approach, what might mysaria represent?
right now, i think its rhaenyras desperation for someone to listen to her. her council belittles her for being a woman. it protects her like a "daughter" rather than a ruler. mysaria both listens to her, and plots with her on equal level. in a way, she represents (and yes this is a somewhat cliche thing in gay pairings, but not for no reason!) a sense of equality and mutual understanding in a patriarchal world.
they are not "literally" equal in terms of rank - but again, it does not have to be completely literal. mysaria feels Treated like an equal by rhaenyra. she's trusted (and given agency), and earns rhaenyras trust (+expands her own agency) in turn.
mysaria additionally seems to represent a different idea of rebellion against patriarchy - an involuntary one. because she cannot perform its most core obligation of (presumed cisgender) womanhood: she cannot bear children. she must find other forms of "worth" in the world. she has no choice.
rhaenyra herself desires to take up sword, rule in a "masculine" way. so being the only other woman there + both of them standing outside patriarchys desired paths for them + being able to help/depend on each other... seems, to me, to serve the Themes of rhaenyras repression vs liberation well.
not to mention, it's interesting in light of rhaenyra being kinda gnc-coded in... other ways!
anyway. like i said, i Highly Doubt these two will be any kind of "endgame." but that's okay. sometimes, you dont need an eternity together - you just need a moment.
i think there's a certain breed of fan who sees many things only through shipping. so if there's not a long, "satisfying" arc of these two developing feelings for each other, it's a "badly written ship." especially for gay couples. and i don't think this is even conscious homophobia, i think its (partially from queer viewers!!) because they WANT to root for those ships. they WANT a gay ship to feel perfectly "right" in a heteronormative world.
well i'm sorry to say, this show is not a romance. it is not about ships or the idealized, perfectly developed couple. sometimes, people find an attraction to one another in ways that are not ideal. shit happens. people get lonely. people find relief in the only other person there who seems to understand them. sometimes it's quick. sometimes it's the opposite of a 50k coffeeshop slowburn AU.
but that does not mean it's bad. it's just reality.

The thing is with critquing blogs against the show, you'd get asks like these:
In your personal opinion is it less than valid to make a doc on someone whose actions have affected a few people? Is it Parasocial and Entitled?
I mean there's docs on predators, abusers and the like. Is it Parasocial for those people to make it?
This is yet another Anon trying to do something but ultimately failing.
Note: They accused me of making drama about someone who doesn't know I exist. When the drama has been going on, they are also doing the same here.
As I am seeing this... nah, this Anon is just trying to shut your mouth about Vivziepop because you've hurt her "fee-fees" (ugh) and attempting to guilt-trip you through the use of fake "concern" and gaslighting.
Besides, if they were genuine, they would've gone off-anon, but since this message you've received was sent in-anon, that means that the one writing this pathetic excuse of gaslighting is a coward, plain and simple.
Do not take down the document, btw, it's really good and informative, don't let these morons dictate your feelings, after all, I'm pretty sure you aren't thinking nor stalking Viv 24/7 and actually have a life outside of the internet, unlike a lot of the people who plague the standom (people like DJ Blitz or Norry)
tldr; it's not parasocial and entitled, it's journalistic and informative, this is just another attempt of a cowardly Viv stan attempting to gaslight you into silence.

It’s so hard being an Adrien stan in this fandom. People are constantly nitpicking every little thing he does. He can never do right by them. It’s so frustrating. And that’s not even mentioning how he was treated in canon
I feel you anon. I wasn't actively posting for the fandom during the major salt periods, like right after the airing of Syren and then Chameleon, but I was around to see the ridiculous salt fests that would go on. People love to pick on Adrien for every single little thing that involves him making a decision that doesn't cater perfectly to Marinette's whims and needs, but woe be upon you if you say anything about Marinette that isn't praising her. It's not even like I have a problem with Marinette as a character. Some of her writing in Season 4 and 5? Yes. But in Seasons 1-3, I really loved her. She was such a breath of fresh air for me as a character. She was so full of charm and life and energy. But she got ruined for me by her stans who jumped to salt on every other character for not exactly agreeing with her every decision and for having minds of their own and having desires that weren't about her.
And another annoying part is their insistence that Marinette is treated oh so cruelly by the narrative and poor Marinette is always suffering and everyone is treating her so cruelly and she deserves better than people who aren't willing to be her faithful slaves. Then Seasons 4 and 5 brought this into canon, and then you saw people who were salting on Adrien for being upset about being neglected by his partner, and they were blaming him for "feeling entitled to her" despite never calling her out for her treatment of him. Lemme tell you, the chimney discourse was wild. And all that bullshit ass "discourse" about him harassing Ladybug, while ignoring all the stalking Marinette did and pretending it was nothing. I generally ignore anyone who says either of these things because they are clearly meant to be jokes, and I think calling Adrien a harasser is just as ludicrous as calling Marinette a stalker, but the double standard of taking the joke seriously for Adrien but not for Marinette is annoying, to say the least.
And ultimately they just want Adrien and everyone else to be Marinette's sidekicks/yes-men who will never disagree with her and will always do whatever she wants and will never think for themselves. And you unfortunately can see this attitude seeping into canon too, with how Adrien isn't allowed to have independent thoughts outside of how he can be of service to Marinette. Nothing matters for him, the only thing that matters is her and what he can do for her. She's allowed to yell at him and throw him into trashcans, but fuck him if he disagrees with her on something and isn't happy to just sit by and accept being replaced and ignored. And canon Adrienette is such a good example of this phenomenon.
But the salters will whine and rage about how Marinette is such a victim of the narrative and how she suffers so much that we should all excuse her less than perfect actions, while also raging at Adrien for any small slight and denying that he also suffers. I guess Marinette can be excused for being traumatized and stressed, but being a victim of horrific abuse is too less of a reason for Adrien to be excused, and I guess it means he isn't suffering. To them, only Marinette's feelings and suffering matters. And this has also become true for the show, because Adrien's feelings don't matter, only Marinette's feelings about him matter.
And the worst fucking thing I've seen from this fandom is the occasional post about how Adrien is "spineless" and "cowardly" and "doesn't have a backbone" because he is non-confrontational and doesn't get up in arms about everything. And, aside from the fact that there is absolutely nothing wrong with not flying into a righteous rage about everything, this is some fucking heavy victim blaming bullshit. Like, y'all know that Adrien is like that because he's a victim of abuse, right? That his actions are a trauma response, right? It's called fawning. How awful of Adrien to have been conditioned into being non-confrontational by an abusive father who wants him to be subservient to his every whim! How useless is he for being traumatized because of the abuse he suffers! What a loser!
Honestly, the deranged Marinette stans are the worst. If someone says that shit about Adrien, they can go fuck themselves honestly. The gall to accuse a character who is an abuse victim of being "a spineless worm who can't grow a backbone" (someone legit wrote this word for word). Acting like he's the scum of the earth for not agreeing with Marinette 24/7 and victim blaming him for not rising swords drawn the moment someone does something mean to her.
So yeah, I understand you anon. It's really annoying to see all these "hot takes" going around. But there are still many Marinette fans who are nice and don't say all this goofy shit about Adrien, and there are plenty of Adrien stans who love and defend our boy. My advice is to block the salt tags, follow the right blogs and curate your experience the best you can. Trust me, it took a while for me to learn to stop putting myself through the agony of looking through these salt posts and to start blocking tags and salters' blogs. But I'm better off for it now. It won't stop some of these posts from popping up here and there, but it'll massively improve your fandom experience.
Thank you for your ask!

What are your favourite Jonah’s projects? ☺️🎬
~ plays TikTok Sound~
OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE THIS QUESTIOOOONNN
So since May 2023 (what happened there? I have no idea 😉) I've watched everything Jonah-related I could get my hands on (except for Little Women, but I'm definetly going to watch that later this year).
My top 3 Jonah projects OTHER than The Little Mermaid (because truth be told, I think it's pretty clear how obsessed I am with that movie and it's not really a fair comparison to some of the more indepent, even low budget projects Jonah has starred in) so far:
1. World on Fire (2019 - 2023)
youtube
created by: Peter Bowker directed by: Chanya Button, Thomas Napper, Adam Smith, Andy Wilson Jonah plays: Harry Chase
Big shocker, right? Given how much I already rambled about Harry and Kasia (my traumatised parents) and how upset I was when they cancelled it. I will always mourn this show for the huge potential it had.
World on Fire is a BBC-show following different people in Britain, Poland, Germany and France (with some American viewpoints as well) as they have to endure and navigate their life through World War II. Doesnt really sound like anything we haven't seen, right? However, World on Fire is worth checking out imo, since it differs a lot from the usual Hollywood-infused war epics, because rather than focusing on the politics or the big battles, the show looks more closely at the everyday person that actually had to live through this tragedy and how they deal with what's happening. That being said, obviously this is still a show about WW II, so there definitely IS depiction of violence, murder and torture, as well as bombings, gunfire etc., so please be careful if you find any of those things triggering. I personally found some episodes quite hard to get through.
I think it's interesting that Jonah's filmography is very heavy on projects set during or related to WW II (additionally to WoF you have The Song of Names, Ashes in the Snow and ofc coming up The Tattooist of Auschwitz). Theories on why that is are welcome!
Harry Chase (brilliantly brought to life by our favourite British simp) differs quite a bit from many of Jonah's other roles in that he`s not your heroic, clean-cut good guy (like Andrius, Lucas, Mo or Prince Eric). He's insecure and a little helpless, even cowardly at times. Harry starts out as a translator, but later joins the British Army and the SOE. He fucks up repeatedly, both in his role as lieutenant, as well as in his personal life. Even though most of the time he means well, his cowardice ends up hurting a lot of people and leads him to be in the middle of a love triangle. (Though to me it's not a triangle, but rather a straight line, Team Kasia all the way.)
Harry, though deeply troubled, is a very kind and soft soul. That doesn't really pair well with the acts of war, as well as british society in the 1940s in general, which leads to conflict with other characters and their idea of who he should be. Especially when he clashes with his mother Robina (portrayed by the absolute MAGNIFICENT Lesley Manville, shes giving Emily Gilmore in the best way possible), Jonahs acting is ON POINT. His performance is so nuanced: He's angry, he's desperate, he's sad, but also condescending, sarcastic and hostile towards her. The interesting thing about Harry is the journey he takes. To watch him try to better himself by dealing with past trauma and taking responsibility for present mistakes. The real standout for his character is episode 5 of season 1 where he finally steps up and takes charge. This is also when he starts earning the respect of his sergeant Stan (Blake Harrison) for the first time - they have a real bromance, both on and off the show, I LIVE for these two.
But - just like in real life - he doesn't have this one breakthrough moment and everything is smooth sailing from there. He fluctuates, just like a real person would. He still has the tendency to run away from his problems, but I think what he's seen in the war, what happened at home and (yes, I'm making this about my ship) his love for Kasia (Zofia Wichlacz) make him realise the type of man he wants to be and he would probably try to act accordingly IF WE GOT A THIRD SEASON, BBC! 😤😡🤬
2. Old Boys (2018)
youtube
directed by: Toby MacDonald Jonah plays: Henry "Winch" Winchester
If you can only watch one Jonah movie, I beg of you MAKE IT THIS ONE!
I`ve found next to nothing about Old Boys and that seriously has to change. (watched the entire movie again, getting my non-existing gif-making skills ready, just the night before I got this ask, talk about fate)
This movie is so underrated, it doesn't even have a Wikipedia entry. Make it make sense! How is nobody watching this cutie-patootie work of art? Its adorkable in the best sense of the word, it's heartwarming, a little silly and oh! so funny!
It's losely based on the play Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, set in an all-boys british boarding school in the 1980s. Given the source material, catfishing is definetly a thing here, keep that in mind if you might find that topic difficult.
Alex Lawther's character Amberson (cliché school nerd and victim of bullying) falls in love with the new french teachers daughter Agnes (Pauline Etienne) who in turn has a crush on First-Class-Himbo Winch (portrayed by a beautiful, dimple-faced, british actor). Because Agnes is very artistic and looking for someone that matches her vibe, Amberson helps Winch to try to impress her, because Winch himself is... well... a little dim 😅.
Winch is easily my favourite Jonah character to date (yes, including Prince Eric). I have seriously considered changing my tumblr-name to themightywinch because of him. I mean... he's corteous and punctual, after all 🤣😍.
While not the main character, he's definetly the highlight of the movie. Jonah is likeable, charming, the right kind of awkward in the right moments, has fantastic comedic timing and great chemistry with Alex Lawther.
Just look at that scene alone! IT`S. SO. CUTE!!! (cute-raging over here 😡) Watching this just makes you wish Jonah would star in more comedies, because he definetly has the skills for it! This is just a feel-good movie that leaves you smiling with a warm, fuzzy feeling in your heart. It has easily become one of my new comfort watches. Old Boys just never fails to make me laugh and I wish it would get more attention and recognition since it definetly deserves it! (like at least write a Wikipedia article about it) Btw, I bought this on Prime for 99ct, best money I ever spend!
3. The Last Photograph (2017)
youtube
(the trailer says 2019, but the movie was originally shown at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2017)
directed by: Danny Huston Jonah plays: Luke Hammond
Fair warning, this movie is gut-wrenching. I don't know if this qualifies as an actual trigger-warning, but this movie deals with the loss of a child/ death of a young person, as well as the real life tragedy of the Pan Am Flight 103 bombed in 1988 so proceed with caution.
Luke Hammond (Dimples McGee) is on said flight to visit his long-distance girlfriend Kate (Stacy Martin) in New York. Kate's and Luke's first meeting is a little awkward imo, I think it's meant to be like a meet-cute, especially with the whole "Bird"-thing, it just doesn't really work for me. But the rest of their love story is very endearing, they're just two young people experiencing love for the first time. Their time together is told through seemingly random, incoherent flashbacks and memories, just giving little glimpses of what their relationship was like and it's the cutest thing. Little intimate touches, hidden smiles, shared laughter... It's shot in a way as if you're watching them through rose-colored glasses, which is probably the point.
I love the way this movie uses different lighting and colour changes to depict a difference in the time line as well as the emotional state of the characters.
We only see Luke in flashbacks (guess why) and follow his dad Tom (Danny Huston) in present day (which in this case means 2003) as he is desperately trying to retrieve the last photograph (hence the titel) he possesses of his son after his bag was stolen. To see Tom slowly losing his grip as he grows more and more desperate to find the picture is truely heartbreaking. (It's a polaroid, so there are no copies, this is truely the last memory he has of Luke. God, I'm tearing up while writing this.)
Because Luke is basically just seen through the memory of his father who obviously holds him in high regard/ romanticizes the idea of his son, he is portrayed in a solely positive light, which usually wouldn't give much dimension to his character. Yet Jonah still manages to fill this role with life and witt and charisma, making you understand why Bird fell for him. He's sweet, romantic, a little bit shy, which works really well here, has the cutest laugh and clearly cares really deeply for his father. He's definetly portrayed as the "you simply have to love him" kinda guy, which is why his absence cuts so deep.
This is also in huge parts due to Danny Huston's performance. Honestly, the sweater-scenes (or jumper, if you're british 😉) almost broke me. And don't even get me started on his letter to Kate or Kate's letter to him... ugh. It's. So. SAD.
This is obviously not for everyday watch. However, even though The Last Photograph is heartbreaking, it doesn't necessarily leave you hopeless and depressed. This movie feels like a loving tribute to an actual person and therefore has a beauty in its melancholy. Throughout Tom's journey there is hope and forgiveness towards himself. There's a beautiful symmetry to the whole thing. The ending feels almost satisfying if you can say that in this context.
I also wanna give a shoutout to This Is The Night (2021). The movie itself isn't that great, it's a little all over the place and I think they tried to do a little too much all at once. But I looo~oooved Jonah in this, Christians character arc is by far the most interesting one and I wish the script gave their character justice in the way Jonah's and Naomi's acting did. (Also this is the HOTTEST he's ever looked which is a bit ironic).
This list is probably going to be outdated soon, since he has a lot coming out in the near future (I'm especially excited for Rich Flu).
Sorry, if this is too long and rambly and if it took too long for me to answer, I got a little carried away and suddenly had a lot of gifs to make 😅.

Do you really think that the realm will support Jacaerys's claim eventually? After all the rumors about his bastardy are really strong and most TG stans claim that since Jace is a bastard he can't inherit anything, Jace needs to be legitimized first. I really like Jacaerys character and I'm new in this fandom, so this matter is so confuse to me.
Btw your post are amazing ❤️
Thanks, anon!
Answer to Question #1
1)
I have many, many posts about bastardry and the boys' illegitimacy vs legitimacy: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, & HERE. Basically, Jace is not really illegtimate bc illegtimacy must be "proven" and he was never proven to be. People have to argue/prove for it more than people having to argue whether or not one's hair is red or not. And
2)
Jace was actually respected outside of his family (A Son for a Son"):
3)
Several of those greens stans are not reading the damn text and refuse to see that Jacaerys was actually pretty admired by one of Rhaenyra's biggest supporters, Cregan Stark ("A Son for a Son"):
Also, Alicent had been, FOR YEARS, trying to get more people on her side and denounce or pressure either Viserys into removing Rhaenyra and her sons from the line of succession (both bk and show) or just get MOST of the lords at court and beyond to denounce Rhaenyra and her sons...and yet she had to resort to a usurpation, imprisoning courtiers and servants to withhold news of Viserys' death, pressured the council to crown Aegon after many lines of persuasion buttressed by Cole & Otto's input and wild accusations and assertions about Rhaenyra's sons, Daemon, and Rhaenyra not being actually the Queen...
I'd say that Alicent failed to convince anyone to really go against Rhaenyra by depending on the boys illegitimacy.
Answer to Question #2
Do you mean if Rhaenyra had ascended peacefully (no war at all, no usurpation) or had won the war with Jacaerys still alive when she did? Yes, he is her heir and the lords fought for her...they were a package deal. If you didn't want to have Jace as the next ruler, you would not fight for the person who names him as heir. Rhaenyra would have consolidated her reign and ensured her line's future better.
Now if we're talking about DURING THE WAR, Jace somehow survived but Rhaenyra did not/lost, I think there would have been a bit more difficulty without Cregan Stark, Jeyne Arryn, the Blackwoods, Vyprens, other lords who respected that their vows applying to Rhaenyra applied to her heir as well (bc again, they came as a package deal politically) and without as many dragons as the blacks had. Since most of the lords didn't swear to him but just to Rhaenyra, maybe some lords would use this as an excuse to defect or leave the war altogether because it stil costs them resources, some still will use this to justify how a male line goes before a woman's line, and/or they are just greedy AND cowardly and see this as they way to flagrantly ally themselves with the greens.
in the beginning. Bc the actual named heir/undoubtedly trueborn person is no longer there to enforce/support Jace's claim.
And once again, Cregan Stark made his Pact with Jace [2nd pictured quote above]...Cregan was a beast after the war and northerners are mad about their vow-taking, arguably more than "southern" folk. Cregan also liked Jacaerys very much from what's written about them--some fans theorize romantically, but whatever. He also had a higher emotional stake in it, which is an amplifying motive to the primary one about the Pact.
As for Jeyne Arryn, she was steadfastly loyal to Rhaenyra's cause because she was blood through Aemma, she would be helping to make sure her own position was securer from male relatives who already tried to oust her, and because Rhaenyra was a woman--like her. Women in a man's world an all that ("A Son for a Son"):
(Cregan also was interested bc he was having trouble with an uncle trying to oust him...succession things). Thus it could get easier for Jace to default back to him having been Rhaenyra's heir, he's never been "found out" to not be Laenor's , and he's a male dragonrider. again, this is if he loses most of Rhaenyra's supporters, bc it's still possible that he'd reatin the bigger and important ones.
Also, if Daemon somehow by some miracle managed to dispatch Aemond and come back...they'd likely fight with and for Jace anyway because Daemon is just loyal &--by reputation and action--brutal like that. Jace--less likely...key words--loses that many supporters of Rhaenyra's.

On the topic of Gold.
People really don't talk about how bad of a dad, granddad, and husband he was after he became the dark one.
I will not deny he was a good/decent dad to Baelfire before he became the dark one? But after?
The poor kid was terrified and ended up hating magic because of it, even into adulthood.
He traded away their second kid without discussing with Milah OR Belle when the two started dating.
He was all for murdering his grandson knowing the pain it would cause (because he lost a kid. He knew what it felt like and was willing to permanently injury/kill Henry. To permanently take away three people (HIS OWN SON'S) ten year old son and two people's own grandson (not including him in that since he clearly didn't care) before he found out Neal was dead.
He didn't respect Neal's wishes or Belle's.
He stole someone's baby during the hero and villains' thing.
He was gonna take ASHLEY'S baby and has been implied to have taken others, for purposes we do not know.
And he killed Milah TWICE. Like wtf.
And I don't see enough people talk about it?
People will seriously defend him to the grave not acknowledging any of this.
I don't get how. The man was willing to permanently take away multiple people's children (his 'true love's' and his own son's son included) despite knowing damn well how it felt.
And he doesn't show much remorse, does he?
I hate that retcon with the Charmings being baby snatchers but at least they showed remorse!
I don’t think much discussion happens around Gold at all because he was a minor character and not in the way of any major ships. Sad, isn’t it? Because the ship he is involved in was toxic as hell and deserves a lot of discussion!
Yes, I will agree that Rumple was a decent father before becoming the dark one. Rumple, however, was never a descent husband. To be fair, Milah wasn’t a decent wife either. Her anger over her husband being unable to kill someone when she, herself, wasn’t willing to do it, is just … wrong. But Rumple trading his second born without telling Milah (and later not disclosing this to Belle) was an asshole, cowardly, move. Does that make him a rotten father though? He was doing everything he could for his son. I do believe branding himself a coward was selfish and did his family wrong by dishonoring them.
However, blaming Rumple for his actions after being consumed by darkness is a tricky thing. I don’t fully blame Rumple because he was literally just consumed by darkness. He wasn’t even aware at the time what he was doing even though anger, cowardice and indignation led him to this fate… he was still consumed by a literal evil force. I begin to blame Rumple for his actions as the Dark One around the time he let his son fall through a portal. He was struggling there for control and he lost it. It’s like when Killian chose Emma above his power and over his own life. Rumple was just weaker.
The Rumple stans 100% do not acknowledge that Rumple’s love for Henry was very much contingent on his own happy ending. If Neal hadn’t been dead, Henry would be dead. If it had come down between Henry and Belle, he wouldn’t have hesitated to kill Henry. Rumple was very selfish.
And that selfishness showed in how he controlled Belle’s life. He never asked her before he did anything. He put her in a sleeping curse so he could get what he wanted in S4 during the shattered sight curse. He went against her wishes to wake her in S5. And again in S6 he locked her on his ship, tried to force her to give him their child and then didn’t ask her in S6 finale if she wanted to participate in his mother’s curse! Her life was basically a chess piece for him to maneuver around to gain his own happiness.
Rumple also got away with killing Milah twice. And I always forget: HELP ME OUT HERE… does Belle know that Rumple killed Milah or does she still think it’s Killian’s fault? Because that was always a WTF for me. I am pretty sure Rumple lets her think he isn’t a wife killer when he is.
And no, Rumple has zero remorse. After all “it is the man he is.”
I also hate the Charming baby snatching retcon but to be fair they didn’t know it was a human child. So in no way are they even on the same plane of evil as Regina or Rumple. But yes, they are the only ones to show remorse for harming a child. Well, Killian too. He regrets leaving Bae to Pan after being offended by Bae’s rejection.
P.S. The baby he stole during the AU was baby Snowflake aka Snowing’s child.

thinking about the boys again and how the show's treatment of them genuinely makes my blood boil
For Vinnie the treatment is definitely worse but whenever the three are together the show feels inclined to make them the most cowardly, pathetic, manlosers ever (and I mean that negatively) while the girls who are much less likable are treated much better, for some reason. Look if you really want to make the boys wimpy losers, at least make the girls like that too, make them girlfails (Zoe already has that girlfail energy so)
Like... make them all losers except for maybe Russell because he actually has his shit together
And that episode where they go to China. Like, I can't. WHY ARE THEY LIKE THAT??? The boys are clearly afraid of something and the girls (minus Penny) are assholes to them. I get Pepper doing shit like that but Zoe and Minka? No, I don't buy it. A fear--no matter how silly it seems-- should NEVER be made fun of. Media where one gender gets treated like a joke compared to the other, no matter if male or female, makes me so angry Istg.
How about instead of the during the episode, Zoe and Minka spend their time trying to assure the boys that there's no ghosts and that is just a myth, only to keep having Pepper play silly pranks on them that scare them even more. And she just makes fun of them (Pepper I love you but it just makes sense okay) and then Zoe and Minka could confront her and there could be a little moral about the thing with fears that I just said. Maybe Pepper sees how much her pranks and teasing has gotten to the boys (they're more paranoid and jumpy, Russell is probably on the verge of tears) and she realizes that she took it way too far.
So then maybe before the dance or after, Pepper apologizes to the boys for making them so paranoid. Sure, she thought those were harmless pranks and gentle ribbing, but not everyone sees it like that. The boys forgive her, of course, and there we go :) the Penny stuff can stay the same
I apologize for the ramble but I had to get that out of my system. Anyways, I guess I gave you an episode rewrite I guess
I just- yuuup. It's exactly like I said, when they're all separate it doesn't really happen (aside from Vinnie :/) but when they're seen as a unit as in against the female pets they are just treated so fucking unfairly and always given the short end of the stick, I swear. And mind you this group has Russell - whose defining feature is being smart, and Sunil who is arguably the second smartest pet. I did mean it that whenever those boys vs girls plot come out it feels like a modern "feminist" movie, except that the director forgot that feminism is all about gender equality, not girls being better, smarter, etc than boys.
I swear, their teasing is shown as a good thing and I hate it. Like to a point it could be seen as them being just comfortable with each other, enough to point out some quirks, but honestly it's not a thing here, they were just being assholes cause "haha, boys stupid and smelly!". I definitely stan your re-write.
Pls, don't apologize, I'm always happy to see you in my inbox, and I very much agree with your thoughts. It's just interesting to get someone's who is not that familiar with the show, cause after I rewatched that thing for so many times my perspective changed so much towards some things, and while I see more, in some cases I'm just so used to it I kinda just forget it.

I find it really interesting and amusing how butthurt R+ L stans can get about their ship not being a fandom darling informs us of their taste. They are also living out the home wrecking fantasy and mad that there are consequences. Why shouldn’t L get the hot prince and be queen and have her kid inherit? Why shouldn’t fandom love this ship and adore the characters and want them to be happy. How dare politics exist and prevent the happy ending for my characters! How dare stans of victims of our characters want justice for their favorites!!— Let’s blame everything on E and her fans! They want to project any hate towards their ship onto E when frankly, so long as someone isn’t a RL fan, even if they don’t give a shit about E they dislike that ship. If just emotionlessly pointing out the circumstances of which RL exits is considered bashing, maybe the ship isn’t what you want it to be 🫢.
I wonder if it’s an obnoxious need for attention that sprouts from the lack of it growing up. That’s one of the few reasons I can think for someone - or a group of people - to nag a complete stranger like a desperate child screaming for attention. I’ve never seen anything like it in any other fandom, the normal thing to do is avoid what you don’t like, that’s why I’ve blocked most of them.
The thing is that they don’t like E because E and her babies are what prevents RL from being a love story, that if you ignore everything else too. The problem is that they don’t want to acknowledge that ship it as grim and weird, which they should because it is, and - as you said - get mad when people point it out.
They are so deep in their own headcanon that they start this delirious belief that it’s anything but. And if you want to talk about the show, we can do that, just be ready to talk about EVERYTHING. How useless and cowardly J was, how pathetic it is that R played a crucial part in his siblings' doom and Dany’s ending. Karma getting his family’s ass after he put that baby in the world I guess.
It’s a stupid storyline and it doesn’t make sense at all if you think for two seconds about what we know about the characters.
I don’t take them seriously enough to care about what they think, I just wish they’d stop harassing E stans and TRYED not to be racist when talking about E.

Season 5 gave such adorable rivusa moments that when I feel like shit I go to episode 18 just to here riven say “that’s my girl” in front of everyone it just makes my heart ndbdndndns (I don’t even question why according to YouTube stats that part was like the most replayed the rivusa army is eating up every thing they get) like hes so proud to show her off and everything omg rivusa dynamic was elite in season 5 no one even comes CLOSE they saved the season for me
YES YES YES YESSSSSS
Tbh that's the big reason I'm so mad about this Keli shit, even though it gets better later. How dare you get in the way of the couple of the SEASON. Like Brella in s2. Move so s5 can go up into the coveted ranks of "Winx seasons not cowardly enough to not portray established relationships and instead exclusively focus on drama"
I feel bad for all the Skloom fans out there. It's ok besties. S4 Musa was not Musa, not in personality or style, and s5 is OBVIOUSLY not Sky. I would never hold s5 against Skloom
Bro Riven being proud of Musa kdjsnsns WHO COULD RESIST!!!! He's so adorable and he's all like "of course she figured it out, she's awesome. Amazing job babe" I'm obsessed with them
S5 agrees with me that Riven would have a Musa stan account where he aggressively markets her music and loves her no I am not ok I love themm
Rivusa is SOOOO good in s5. S2 and s5 are really the Rivusa seasons
S5 has so many independent good things surrounded by terrible, they restored Musa back to her proper personality....but at what cost (I'm sorry they did that to Flora Floelia fans), but Rivusa was definitely a highlight good

Thank you so much @amethysttribble for the tag <3. So 10 favourite characters from 10 different media. I don't think I can give 10 different media, but I'll try.
Fëanor: he's one of my favourite characters. Even though he makes eyebrow raising decisions, I can understand why he makes them. He's just a very complicated person, someone whose both hurt and yet prideful. (Tolkien)
Fingolfin: bro is ambitious and not shy about it. His relationships with a lot of people are fascinating, we never really get how he feels about these things. He seems to genuinely want love but also holds a degree of resentment. (Tolkien)
Alicent Hightower: the show offered a more sympathetic perspective to her story, but I also wished they kept her agency from the books. In Fire & Blood, she is the ringleader of the Green Council and she's the one really pushing Aegon for the throne. That said, I love repressed catholic lesbian Alicent. (asoiaf/hotd)
Daemon Targaryen: I'm with grrm on this one. He's complicated, he never really does things solely for good or bad, selfish or selfless. His motives are a mix of both. Also, the way he goes down? Awesome. (asoiaf/hotd)
Zahard: I make fun of him a lot, calling him a jealous baby-killing incel, but he's so much more than that. Zahard is someone who started out as a bold, idealistic adventurer, but what is interesting about him is that he is very complacent to the idea of fate. From his young character, he strikes me as a "make your own fate" kind of person but he changes and it's implied an event happened. And we don't know what is it yet. (Tower of God)
Khun Aguero Agnis: bless this boy. He has ambitions, but no motivation (at least at first). His mentality of hiding his precious jewels (his loved ones) even though he might never see them again, is just fascinating. Also, his relationship with Maria. He has no regrets about helping her over his own full-blooded sister, but I think he regrets his sister's suicide because of it (Kiseia being his sworn enemy). Also his sheer fear and discomfort towards his father, despite having ambitions to overthrow him? Fascinating. (Tower of God)
Tsunade: Strong lady who can kickass. Naturally, I have issues with how women are written in Naruto but I like Tsunade. She ran away because of grief and being disenchanted with the Shinobi profession (absolutely valid), yes it was cowardly but it was also very human of her. (Naruto)
Jiang Cheng: he's a hot mess. His love and jealousy towards Wei Wuxian, exacerbated by his father's favouritism towards Wei Wuxian and his mother's unending dissatisfaction with him. There was genuine, brotherly love between him and Wei Wuxian but it was just not enough. (Mdzs)
Elizabeth Bennet: Oh, girlie's fun. But girlie also thinks she's smarter than she actually is and Jane Austen wasn't afraid to show that. Also her telling Jane "I fell in love with him after I saw his big ass house" and we don't know if she's joking or not. Anyways, I stan. (Pride and Prejudice)
Hotaru Imai: primary-Middle school girl will eat your food even if you're starving, but god forbid if anybody touches you. Touch her loved one and you're dead. She likes to invent, but she mostly uses her smarts to invent something that makes her daily life easier because she's lazy. What an icon. (Gakuen Alice)
So there's that! These are my 10 favourite characters! For this, I'm tagging @rhapsodyinviridescentgold @yellow-faerie @outofangband. I hope you guys don't mind, feel free to ignore as well <3
List ten different favorite characters from ten different pieces of media, and tag ten people!
Thank you so much @himemiyaaah for the tag, I’m sorry I took forever to do this! We’re organizing these by piece of media
Celegorm: by god, if you look at his character for a little bit, there is so much going on with him! He’s friends with Orome, he has a magic angel dog, he’s super close with Curufin despite the age difference, he’s friendly with his cousins and he gets Finrod killed, he’s an elegant speaker, his followers commit the most abhorrent crime of the kinslayings, he’s assaults Luthien, he’s close with Aredhel, he’s a renowned hunter and failure as a military general. There’s so many layers and contradictions and I love him. (Silm)
Elwing: She is my baby girl, and once I write my ‘conversations between Elwing and Maglor’s Wife’ fic, it’s over for you bitches. She’s just… so resolute, and so sad, and so angry, and she turns into a BIRD and I don’t know what more you want from me. (Silm)
Curufin: Every time I write Curufin I black out and then pages upon pages of the most miserable words on the planet are recorded on screen, and I don’t know what that says about me (Silm)
Percy de Rolo: this tragic white-haired anime boy with a gun has entranced me, mind body and soul. He really misses his family, you guys T_T (Critical Role, C1)
Veth Brenatto: This woman is one of the most fascinating characters at the Critical Role table, and that she gets reduced to “Caleb’s mom” so often is fucking criminal, I LOVE her and want her to be happy and blow shit up (Critical Role, C2)
Hubert von Vestra: listen… I’m a sucker for the loyal (male) retainer to the driven at all costs, morally questionable (female) leader. And also they were platonic soulmates. Hubert is a spooky vampire who lives on devotion, and I fucking love him. (fe3h)
Catherine Morland: I recently remembered why Northanger Abbey is my favorite Austen book, she’s just a fucking hoot, I wish I could be her (Northanger Abbey)
Sanji: Sanji, sanji, sanji, WHAT am I to do with you? The most character of all time, so well written sometimes, so poorly written on others. He is forever and always my One Piece blorbo (One Piece)
Catelyn Stark: This woman… Need it be said how goddamn amazing Cat is? I’m not sure it does, my the unbridled tragedy of her watching lose her family one by one, how war steals her young son from her and she is forced to watch, rattling against the bars of the patriarchal cage, and she STILL has a higher on page kill count than Robb? She was already perfect and then she died and cam back a wraith bent on revenge, no one is doing it like her. (asoiaf)
Shimura Shinpachi: MY FUCKING SON! The most important Gintama character and also the most underrated, he’s just a sweet lad, doing his best!! He’s so good to Kagura, and so good to his sister, and so good his friends, and he just wants to be a samurai but also he’s a son of the new age, and he’s trying so hard and I LOVE HIM. (Gintama)
Again, can’t do 10 people, I can give you 5. @agroupofcrows, @aipilosse, @arofili, @shrikeseams, @shiroandblack, feel free to answer or ignore at your leisure!

Anyway, Lily Orchard stans still stay commenting on my posts and then instantly blocking me before I can view their comments fully, forgetting I can just log out and view the post on my blog.
But here we see a Lily stan....basically parroting her on my post. But if you wanna pull the what she did the whole video move: she literally included a fucking image of self harm that you lot seem VERRYYY fine with, ignoring that even her trigger warning at the start of the video is weak as fuck- is it a image?? It is discussion?? Is it a small video??? BE SPECIFIC LILY. Or just don’t fucking include it, the image wasn’t needed in the first place, and maybe add discussion of child abuse to your trigger warnings, as that is also in the video. And ironic she said this:
As in the video, she complained about Bruno having fans and such.....hey Lily, does this mean hating popular things is your personality now??? Oh wait, its ALWAYS been your personality, my bad. Oh, and of course, making all the Madrigal’s family trauma....about herself....look, I get relating to characters trauma and stuff, given I relate to characters when it comes to my family issues, but like....Lily does this every time now with her videos if she can and....gives questionable advice of dealing with the people who are causing the trauma, eg. the abusers/abusive family. As Lily’s advice is to yell and scream and such, cause it worked for her, when...no, abuse situations can vary and be different. Yelling and hitting back won’t always work and sadly, could result in worser situations. So Lily basically acting like this advice is the only go to is dangerous, when you look at it.
Again, I think I should specify my interractions with Encanto fandom is reblogs and likes, I have yet to make an actual post of my own. But you blocked me so fast, makes sense you like Lily, prefer to throw me in with the wtf side of the fandom, not knowing I do disagree with people who villainify Alma. Do I like her? No, but do I think shes the villain? No, she’s someone with trauma who unknowingly took it out on her family in the end and it took Mirabel pointing it out for her to realize that, making Lily’s bitching about the house ignoring her pointless as the house clearly is fine with Mirabel but knew someone was needed to solve the families ongoing problems.....something the fandom agrees with, but I’m suggesting she enters the fandom for positive things and not to make things hostile, whoops. “Fan” why put that in quotations??? I’m probably more of a fan then Lily whose only made things hostile so far.
And cause your going at someone on my post....more parroting of Lily, cause no, only you lot think every one wants Game of Thrones like shows- a little bit of angst in shows and fandoms doesn’t hurt anyone, you know, just Lily whose probably the biggest hypocrite when it comes to hating angst, or is she going to deny shes written some shit as well??? But if she wants to whine about cartoon fandoms, whine about ACTUAL issues, not people writing fanfics about angst, cause that’s all she seems to do nowadays, cause she’s just incapable of understanding a fandom is a FANDOM, not a LILYdom. And no one was using that argument. Seriously, you’d find out on my blog I get angry at fiction a-lot, but the problem is HOW Lily goes about it and crap, but given how your parroting her, stan, its pretty clear you don’t wanna acknowledge Lily has flaws and problems, so....
#lily orchard#lily orchard critical#anti lily orchard#usernames blurred out cause unlike lily we dont send people after random users cause we annoyed at them#and would have ignored this....if my notifications didnt show me a comment i cant even view#cause instant block#showing her stans are as cowardly as her really

once you accept that stan was badly written in the muschietti movies then you will Realize
muschietti in chapter one: stan’s only character traits will be jewish, scared, and mean towards his friends.
muschietti in chapter two: stan’s whole existence will be used as a device to move the plot along and also i will glorify his suicide.
stan had no sense of individualism in these movies and it’s just so apparent that andy & co simply did not care about his storyline. chapter one stan had like nine lines in the whole movie and was stereotyped as the cowardly jewish boy who for some reason had an overbearing father. and then in chapter two he was defaulted as a plot device to motivate the other losers’ stories (going to the clubhouse to get stan’s token so they can start their own token search, his bar mitzvah speech to make richie stay in derry, the spider stan refrigerator scene, stan’s final letter to claim he was a martyr for the losers).
it’s funny because the bar mitzvah scene was originally filmed for chapter one, but then andy deleted it, which at first i was mad about because stan needed more screen time, but then i realized that it made sense chronologically because it would be weird to have stan have this big brave speech but then suddenly get all scared again when they returned to neibolt later to save bev. so, i understood the decision to cut the scene. but then andy inserted it back into chapter two, but with a new monologue. and this new speech felt more like plot device to show the regression of the losers during their fallout and ultimately as a way to have richie stay in derry (because andy again made the losers have a fallout even though that stands against literally everything the losers club stands for).
these movies just never felt like it had any development for stan. and i’ve seen people say the letter was stan’s ultimate growth but no! it really just romanticized his suicide. stan killed himself because he felt scared - andy even stated in the director’s commentary that stan’s suicide was cowardly so he wanted to make it seem like stan killed himself to save the others. but stan’s suicide was meant to show his fear and emphasize how powerful It really is. he wasn’t happy to kill himself. he wasn’t smiling as he died. he wasn’t some sacrificial lamb out to slaughter. and he would never ask his wonderful wife who he loved since the moment he met her, who would now be a newly-made widow to go deliver six letters to his childhood friends she’s never met before, like literally what the fuck.
by all intents and purposes stan should be the loser that you don’t connect to because he literally dies in chapter three of the book. but you still end up loving his character as a kid even knowing that he dies. he is a big contributor to the losers and has his own storyline that makes him unique and needed. the tragedy of stan is that he ended up living a happy normal life as an adult which is drastically different from the other losers, but when the time came to go back, he was unable to. his death is meant to be tragic but not necessary.
simply, stanley uris deserved better.
#this is super incoherent and i probably missed a few points but i just remembered movie stan and got into a blind rage to write this#this is two years too late but whatever y'all know i'm unhinged#like i've seen people discuss how badly eddie mike and richie are mischaracterized in the movies#but no one really talks about stan so it makes me think people are happy with his portrayal? which they shouldn't be bc it sucked#andy and sk did not care about stan lbr#i think ao3 user sinchronicity who wrote circular motion has all the rights to stanley uris actually#stanley uris#it#tw suicide#tw suicide mention

A TWITTER "INTERACTION"
So, I was trying to figure out why I couldn't see responses to some of my tweets. Then, I logged out and checked who was replying to my tweets.
Turns out it was a person who had blocked me from viewing their tweets. 😂
I usually I censor the names of ppl like this, but didn't this time. So, don't go attack this person. Be mature.
BUT... you can let this person know that I think they're behaving immature & cowardly for blocking me then talking crap. It's unnecessary, but do so if you wish to.
But, DO NOT make fun of them for their grammar. It aint a big deal if I can still understand what the message means. And for some, English isn't their first language, so don't be rude.
So, what imma do is reply here on Tumblr since I'm blocked on twitter!
This individual is a Vegeta stan that hates Earthling characters like Yamcha & Krillin. I say "Krillin" because I talk about Krillin a lot & this person blocked me. But, obviously this person wants my attention, so here it is! 😉

I clearly say "a character" would had became irrelevant if Toriyama didn't make him get with Bulma; implying this character to be Vegeta. Then this person sarcastically deflects by saying Bulma & Yamcha are irrelevant.
Still didn't disprove my point. Just deflected from the truth. And even worse, these tweets are hidden from my account, so there is no way I could call them out. (Smart thinking 😉)

It's a FACT that Yamcha and Bulma have become good friends after their break-up. Bulma is often near Yamcha in the Buu saga & he comforts her when she is mourning without trying to hit on her while she is in a vulnerable state. They're just really good friends now.
Yamcha also is at Capsule Corp. throughout DBS. Yamcha even drops by to visit pregnant Bulma, but thanks to Whis, she had her babay already. Then Yamcha holds the baby. He's obviously friends with the family.
Bulma's good friend, Yamcha, was at her birthday party.
Bulma's husband, Vegeta, didn't show up to her birthday party at first. He only showed up because King Kai warned him about Beerus. Not for his wife.
This fact doesn't diminish that Vegeta cares about Bulma tho. Just pointing out that Yamcha is more considerate with matters like these.
Now the Gotenks part...
Yamcha visits CC
Yamcha is the creator of the Wolf Fang Fist
Trunks lives at CC
Gotenks somehow knows the Wolf Fang Fist
Who do you think Gotenks (or at least 1/2 of him) learned the Wolf Fang Fist from? I'll let him tell ya who taught him the Wolf Fang Fist.

Ah, another person who promotes the lie that Yamcha cheated. Many just don't realize that Future Bulma lied to Trunks about Yamcha & Vegeta. I wont explain it. Link to the explaination "here."
But I ain't wrong tho. Yamcha wanted to marry Bulma for years but Bulma always exaggerated things and turned them into arguements.
Also, notice how this individual deflects again. They say Yamcha cheated (which is proven to be a lie that many accept as truth) when I said Bulma's immaturity is what caused the relationship to fail (which is true and proven by the series itself). A common tactic for illogical stans like these.
This person just wants to hate on Yamcha.

PIC 1
Obviously hugs show intimacy lol. 😂
If they didn't then why does Goku hug Chi-Chi? Why does 18 hug Krillin? Why do ppl draw fanart of Vegeta and Bulma hugging? 🤔
By their own logic, pictures of Vegeta and Bulma hugging is a pathetic excuse that doesn't prove they love each other.
I think this person either hates hugs or is being dishonest on purpose.
PIC 2
They say I'm not convincing with photo evidence. Then, they deflect by saying ACTUAL PROOF IS IRRELEVANT & DELUSIONAL.
Next, they put words in my mouth by making it seem like I thought YamBul's relationship was steady. Obviously it wasn't "steady." It was rocky at times like most realationships & that is mostly due to Bulma being immature, spoiled & accusing Yamcha of doing things she was actually doing.
PIC 3
This person presents pictures of Bulma being mad at Yamcha, (ah so only my pics are irrelevant & delusional) then inaccurately says that Bulma and Yamcha were always fighting and were apart from each other. BOLDFACED LIE.
Arguements did happen (often due to Bulma lying and exaggerating things) and they were only away from each other when Bulma or Yamcha got angry with each other and Bulma kicked him out, when Yamcha was training, when Yamcha was fighting, or when Yamcha died.
Other times, Yamcha would take the richest girl on the planet out on dates, rescue her, thank her, and spend quality time with her.
Funny thing is... Bulma would even get mad at Yamcha for leaving to train. Then in filler of the Android saga, Yamcha is complying with Bulma & is spending more time with her instead of training.
Later, when Bulma gets with Vegeta, he is ALWAYS away training. He rarely spends quality time with Bulma. Even in DBS, Vegeta is gone for months at a time training with Whis, then on Earth he is usually training in the Gravity Chamber or RoSaT or gone fighting. Meaning there is rarely time Vegeta spends with Bulma (or his children).
Even BoG showed this when Vegeta would rather train than go to Bulma's birthday party.
Its ironic that Bulma got mad at Yamcha for wanting to train & now she's married to a man that leaves to train 98% of the time.
I think ppl call this "karma."
Maybe realizing Bulma often yells at Vegeta and Vegeta is literally almost always away training will bring this person's rational memory back 😜😜🤣🤣🤣
(See what I did there? Hehe.)

This person seems to allign themself with this "Mr. Ducklin" guy. I remember him because he used to call himself "Mr. Cucklin" as an insult to Krillin. Although he tried to deny it & claim it was a joke. But he continues to hate on Krillin, thus revealing the truth.
DO NOT go attack this guy either. I'm just letting them know that I notice them since they seem to want my attention.
Both appear to be Vegeta stans that hate Krillin and Yamcha. Both use deflections then lie tin order to make themselves look like they're right.
That's why I don't care about being right, I care about being accurate. Which means I'm open for corrections if necessary. With these 2 and ppl like them? They dont offer corrections. They try to enforce lies.
Remember kiddos, just because a group of ppl think they're right, doesn't mean they're accurate. Strive to be truthful, accurate, & reasonable! 👍
(Or don't and enjoy being inaccurate, then get butthurt when truth is presented to you.)

You stan an abusive asshole
First of all, thank you for the good spelling.
Secondly, I know you're not talking about Lucien, when we have the toxic mess of a fucking bat over here who never fucking leaves, who I'm assuming you stan.
Take off those fucking rose tinted glasses alright. Look at things clearly, and take a step back. Look at things from Mor's point of View.
Five Hundred fucking years is a long fucking time. There's no way she didn't know Awriel was "in love" with her, even though he was too cowardly to tell her(I throw in love in quotations, because I don't think he was really. Just obsessed with the idea of loving her, just like he is Elain).
But MOR'S POINT OF VIEW
All Awriels stans like to say that she owed Awriel an explanation for years. She owed him the explanation that she wasn't into him. She owed him so much so he would know.
This is a female who has gone years expressing friendship, making sure Cassian was always there when they went out anywhere, and whenever Awriel got too close at all, she would find a male to sleep with, where Awriel would be aware of it.
She definitely knew. She's a bisexual woman, who prefers females, over males. She would choose to sleep with males, when she sensed Awriel getting close to saying anything to her, to remind him that she sees him as a friend and nothing more.
She was not leading him on. She was showing him that she was not interested. It is not Mors fault Awriel didn't want to back off until Elain came around.
To make matters worse, Mor can handle herself. She is independent. But there are times Awriel gets to the point where he terrifies her. It can be traumatic.
And that's just Mor.
Mor owes Awriel nothing. Not an explanation on her sexuality. She's shown him she's not interested by sleeping with other males when she senses Awriel getting too close(is it the best way to do it? No. But it gets the point across.. that's what I'm saying), but Awriel still pushes to make her just uncomfortable enough where she needs Cassian to buffer.
After Five Hundred Years.
You pin this shit on Mor. She may not have the best way going about this, but that doesn't make it less effective. Also, who's to say Mor hadn't tried talking to Awriel outright centuries ago.
This is creepy toxic behaviour.
I like the idea of Gwynriel. I just think the bat has a lot of shit to fucking work through first.
And apologies to make.
But you Awriel stans wanting him with Ellen aren't ready to hear that yet.
#fucking anon#anon hate#asks#anti*elr*iel#anti*az*riel#dont come for my fox#when your bat is much worse

Re: that Gilmore Girls podcast and the Logan stan, I agree. It's actually crazy how they make up all these excuses over Logan not being fully honest with Rory if what Matt said is truly how Logan sees his situation with Rory, as in, him wanting her to say something just so he can have a reason to call off his engagement. From my perspective, that's to the detriment of both Rory and his fiancee because he expects Rory to be the one to make this decision in his life, but also if she doesn't say anything, then he's holding onto his fiancee in case? That's not just cowardly, that's also a tad offensive. He's not really honest with either woman in that case and it's why I can't feel sorry for him in this situation. And the thing is, any excuse that relies on Logan being hurt by Rory because of her turning his proposal down can also be used as a logic for Jess? Like, last time Jess came forward with his feelings for Rory, she told him she's in love with another man that cheated on her. So why should he come forward with his feelings now if she likely doesn't reciprocate them? And I don't even mean this at Rory's expense. Why should Rory in either case be the one who is solely responsible for what another man does in regards to his feelings for her? Both Logan and Jess are adults, and Logan in particular should be treated more often as such when he's just as capable of calling off his engagement on his own.
This this this all of this! I find it so frustrating when excuses are made for one character while they would rag on another for very similar behavior. And what gets me is how they gloss over Logan's faults and then say he was OOC in the revival because he had so much growth in season 7 - which they'll also be selectively dismissive of because of the change in writers. With ASP's return in the revival, it seems telling that some of Logan's old traits (that honestly didn't even completely vanish in season 7) came back to the surface. So then the question is, is it out of character that he's back in London under his dad's thumb? Or is it that folks don't want to admit that Logan can be passive and apathetic and cowardly? Is it OOC or do you just not like it? Do we dismiss season 7 or the revival - or reluctantly accept both?
Re: Rogan - I don't think we're even meant to view Rory and Logan as romantic in the revival; it seemed like the narrative purpose was to further illustrate that Rory was in a capital-R Rut from grief and burnout, and she was self-sabotaging. It didn't seem like she even wanted anything serious given how everything between them transpires. Rory doesn't seem like she wants more, and Logan isn't forthcoming about wanting any change to their arrangement. They're both keeping each other in their back pockets, seeking comfort, familiarity, and a distraction from whatever they don't like about their lives. (I don't feel sorry for either of them esp Logan lol.)
Whereas with Literati, the revival showed us that no matter how much time passes between the two, they'll always fall back into that connection they had when they first met - but any familiarity or comfort doesn't rest and allow either to stagnate or escape from reality; they inspire each other (in this case, Jess inspires Rory). And I like that this holds true whether it's considered romantic or not.
I'm gonna stop there before I end up writing a whole essay haha!
