Sanuso incorrect quotes!!
(some are slightly suggestive)
Sanji: When you said 'Magic in Bed', I wasn't expecting this... Usopp: *pulls out card from deck* Now, was this your card? Sanji: Oh damn-
Sanji: Just be careful, Usopp! Usopp: *heading out the door* I'm always careful, Sanji! Usopp: It's everything around me that's careless.
Usopp: I want to wake up with you every day for the rest of our lives. Sanji: I wake up at 4:30 AM every day to make breakfast. Usopp: I want to see you at some point every day for the rest of our lives.
Usopp: I fellâ Sanji: From heaven? Usopp: No, I literally fellâ Sanji: In love with me the moment you saw me? Usopp: MY ARM IS BROKEN! Sanji: Okay, but do you think I'm pretty? Be honest.
Usopp: Okay, but if you're not gay then why are you always holding my hand and kissing me and telling me Iâm your boyfriend? Sanji: Dude- It's satire! Usopp: THAT'S NOT WHAT SATIRE MEANS!
Usopp:Â We both look very handsome tonight. Sanji:Â You know, if you'd just said that I looked handsome, I would have said, "So do you." Usopp:Â I couldn't take that chance.
Usopp:Â Hey, wanna take a shower with me? Sanji:Â I have a gun in that nightstand beside the bed. If I ever say no to that question, I want you to take it out and shoot me because Iâve obviously gone crazy.
Usopp: We should get you to a doctor for a check up immediately. What if it happens again, and there isnât anyone around to help you? What if itâs congenital? Oh my God! Was it me? Did I hurt you? Sanji: âŚYou realize any other person that made their partner pass out on bed would simply feel really proud of themselves, right?
Sanji:Â Is something burning? Usopp, leaning seductively on the counter:Â Just my desire for you. Sanji:Â Usopp, the toaster is literally on fire.
*Usopp comes home absolutely drunk, undresses, and stands in Sanjiâs bedroom.* Sanji:Â Mon trĂŠsor, are you.. coming to bed? Usopp:Â No thank you, Iâm sure youâre lovely but I have a girlfriend. Usopp:Â *Lies on the ground and falls asleep* Sanji:Â ...
Sanji:Â The stars are so beautiful... Usopp:Â They're just giant balls of gas. Sanji:Â You know what, if you're just going to ruin this, then- Usopp:Â And yet none of them are as huge as my love for you. Sanji:Â Oh...
Sanji:Â *banging a pen on the table out of frustration* Usopp:Â Stop that. How would YOU feel if I banged you on the table? Sanji:Â Iâ Sanji:Â I donât know the correct answer to that question.
Sanji:Â When we started dating, you know what Usopp often said to me? Nami:Â Please stop flirting with other people?
Usopp:Â So, whatâs Sanji's type? Nami:Â Brown eyes, kind, oblivious, good sense of humor, turtle lover. Usopp:Â Sounds kind of like me. Too bad weâre just friends. Nami:Â Did I mention oblivious? Usopp:Â Yeah, why? Nami:Â Okay, just making sure.
Zoro:Â Hey, whatâs up? Usopp:Â The sky. Zoro:Â No, I meant like, what are you doing? Usopp:Â Oh, Sanji. Sanji:Â *highfives Usopp* Nice one, mon amour.
Robin:Â Wow, you and Usopp are home early from the movies. What happened? Sanji:Â We got kicked out because Usopp wouldn't stop yelling diving scores as people jumped off the titanic. Usopp:Â That last guy had a solid 8, I'm telling you!
Nami:Â I like your top, Sanji! Usopp:Â I have a name, you know. Sanji:Â *sighs* Why. Why are you like this.
Nami:Â Who do we know that has handcuffs? Usopp:Â Well Sanji and I- Sanji:Â *elbows Usopp* Usopp:Â ...wouldn't know.
Sanji:Â sapnu puaS. Nami:Â What?? Usopp:Â What language is that. Sanji:Â Turn your phone 180 degrees <3 *Sanji was removed from the groupchat*
Usopp:Â Sorry, I'm late to the party. I've been doing things. Sanji, entering in an unbuttoned shirt:Â I got caught up doing things too. Chopper:Â Wow, Usopp was late too! What a coincidence!
Usopp:Â Where are you going? Sanji:Â To get MYSELF a gift cause somebody didn't get me one! Usopp:Â I told you I did! Its coming here on Friday! Zoro and Nami, knowing full well that Usopp got Sanji an engagement ring:Â *eating popcorn*
Sanji, holding a rock:Â Usopp just gave this to me and said "I feel like you deserve the moon but all I can give you is a rock". Nami:Â If you don't marry him, I will.
Zoro:Â So, are you two dating now? Sanji & Usopp:Â Yes. Zoro:Â Why? Sanji:Â I happen to find Usopp very appealing. Zoro:Â Yeah, I can understand that. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with Usopp.
Usopp:Â *yawns* Sanji:Â Yeah, being that pretty must be tiring. Usopp:Â Then you must be exhuasted. Nami:Â Will you two shut up? Some of us are lonely and have their girlfriends very far away.
Usopp:Â Come on, Nami. Nobody actually believes that Sanji is in love with me. Nami, to The Crew:Â Raise your hand if you think that Sanji is helplessly in love with Usopp. *Everyone raises their hand* Usopp:Â Sanji, put your hand down.
Usopp:Â Sanji annoyed me today so I told him that I canât wait to see what they have planned for our special day tomorrow. Nami:Â There is nothing special about tomorrow. Usopp:Â But there is something special about watching the color leave his face as panic takes over.
Usopp:Â This food is too hot... I can't eat it. Sanji:Â Youâre very hot, and I still eat you. Everyone at the table:Â *silence* Nami:Â YOU GUYS ARE DISGUSTING! Zoro:Â One dinner... I just want ONE DINNER!

Apologizing after your First Fight
Part 2, (Pls send requests, I like making these!)
MONSTER TRIO + LAW, ACE, SABO
LUFFY
You spent the next day in your room, refusing to eat or just say hi to your worried crew mates. You hugged yourself h def the covers, wondering if you went too far with your words. Maybe you should have said it in a different wayâŚ? You continued to wonder whether you should take your captainâs words to heart⌠âMaybe it would be best if I do start my own crew⌠a crew that wonât lash out when anyone speaks their mindâŚâ you sighed as you nuzzled deeper into your bed.
Luffyâs POV
I stared off into the sunset while sitting on top of Sunnyâs head. âShe didnât have to be so meanâŚâ I grumbled as I continued to stare out into the open. âLuffy!â I heard Bami call out. âWha-â I was cut off by a smack to my head. âOw!â I shouted. âGood! Why is (Y/N) still in her room? Why havenât you checked up on her?â She asked, annoyed. ââŚâ I stayed quiet. âAnswer me!â She glared as she pulled on my cheek. âWe haf a fighf,â I said nervously. âA fight?â Robin asked as she joined us. âYeah,â I said as Nami let go of my cheek. âWhat did you do?â Nami asked as she crossed her arms. âNothing! Or nothing serious! I donât know why sheâs mad at me and trying to boss me around like sheâs captain,â I huffed.Â
âAre you talking about yesterday?â Nami asked as she sat down beside me. âYeah⌠she yelled at me because I left the ship to explore the island,â I explained. âWell why do you think that made her angry?â Robin asked as she sat on the other side of me. âI donât know⌠cause I didnât stay on the ship like I was supposed to⌠but I got bored!â I groaned. âOk, but what else did she say?â Robin asked.
âWell⌠she said sheâs mad that I didnât listen to her, but Iâm not a kid!â I argued back. âOk, well think about it this way. What if you asked (Y/N) to make you a giant meal and she said ok, and later you find out she never made it because she got bored or distracted. Wouldnât you be mad too?â Nami asked. âYeah I would, butâŚâ I trailed off. âI get it now, sheâs mad cause she asked me to do something and I said ok but I went off to do my own thingâŚâ I said softly, finally understanding. âGood, now go apologize!â Nami said. âOk!â I said quickly as I jumped up to run to (Y/N)âs room.Â
I knocked on her door, hoping sheâd answer it. ââŚcoming,â I heard softly. I braced myself for a beating, but when the door opened I saw my girl in front of me. She had frizzy hair, swollen eyes, and was wrapped in a blanket. â(Y/N)âŚâ I said softly. âWhat do you want?â she asked. âCan I come inside?â I asked. âYouâre the captain, you can do whatever you wantâŚâ she glared as she walked back towards her bed. I followed her inside and shut the door behind me.
â(Y/N), Iâm sorry⌠I didnât understand why you were mad, but I get it now. You asked me to do something and I didnât⌠I went out to do my own thingâŚâ I said softly as I opened my arms, hoping sheâd hug me back. âYou really hurt my feelings,â she said softly. âI know, I just didnât like being told what to do⌠and at the time I didnât see what the problem was,â I explained. âYou told me to go start my own crew⌠why would you try to kick me out of the crew so easily?â She asked as her eyes became glossy. âI was mad, Iâm sorry⌠please donât leave, donât leave me,â I said as I pulled her into a tight hug.Â
âIâm sorry, Iâll always listen to you, cause I know youâre just trying to keep me and everyone else safe,â I said as I squeezed her tighter. âAlright⌠but you know you have to make it up to me, right?â She asked softly. âYeah,â I replied. âItâs gonna be a mean punishment⌠I mean it,â she laughed as she looked up to me. âThatâs fine, as long as you donât leave. You canât leave, I wonât let you,â I grinned. âOk, but I haven't forgiven you yet. That punishment is gonna be big,â she said with a mischievous look in her eyes. âBring it on,â I laughed.
ZORO
I sat in the dining room, just wanting to clear my head. I know I messed up, but did she seriously have to run away from me? I groaned as I slammed my head on the table. âHey Moss head, break that forehead somewhere else. We eat there,â Curly brow frowned. âWhateverâŚâ I replied. âWoah, no come back? Did you break one of your swords or something?â He asked as he sat across from me, wiping his hands. âI said something stupid to (Y/N), and I made her upset⌠I regretted saying it, but in the moment it slipped out⌠Now sheâs been ignoring me for the past few days. âThatâs why Iâve been seeing her in Chopperâs office more often,â he said. âYeah, anytime I find her she runs awayâŚâ I groaned.Â
âSo what did you say?â Sanji asked as he took out a cigarette. âI said⌠I said I feel like sheâs smothering⌠me,â I said softly. âYou dumbass! To (Y/N)?! I should shove my foot down your throat for uttering words like that to her!â The cook glared. I bit my tongue, not wanting to fight. âDid you at least talk to her about wanting space?â He asked. âNoâŚâ I sighed as I banged my head against the table again. âYou really are a dumb marimo,â
Sanji said. âI know, so what can I do?â I asked. âYouâre asking me for advice? Thatâs a first,â he scoffed. âWell, I would first apologize, and then you need to tell her the reason behind your little tantrum. Cause now she thinks you think sheâs a bother, when sheâs not,â he said. âThatâs⌠really helpful,â I said. âNow hurry the hell out of here, before I try to steal her away from you,â he said he leaned into his chair. I nodded and rushed out of the dining room.
â(Y/N)!â I began calling around the ship, but no oneâs seen her. âWhere could she be?â I asked myself. â(Y/N)? Sheâs in the library,â Chopper said as he walked out of his office. âThanks!â I said as I rushed off.Â
â(Y/N)!â I called out. âYes?â I heard in a cold tone. I walked towards the voice and found her in a corner reading, not once looking up from her book. âHey,â I said awkwardly as I walked closer. âWhat do you want?â She asked. âI wanted to⌠to see you,â I said slowly. âYou sure? Cause I thought I was suffocating you,â she spat. â(Y/N)⌠I didnât mean that, I donât know⌠in the moment I just felt every-â she cut me off.
âNo need to explain. You want space, Iâll give you space,â she said quickly. âOh thank god, I was scared youâd leave me⌠so you understand that sometimes I-â she cut me off again. âYep, so thereâs no need for us to be together anymore if you find me so suffocating,â she smiled and quickly shut her book. âWait, what?â I asked. âWhy be with someone you find too clingy? I get it, might as well live that lone wolf style you want so bad,â she said as she began leaving. âNo! Just please let me explain, just 1 minute,â I pleaded.Â
âOk, 1 minute,â she said as she turned to face me. "I donât find you annoying, clingy, or anything! I just⌠sometimes I just miss having alone time, but I donât want to be alone all the time. God, even I donât understand myself! I just⌠I felt like if I said anything you might leave me, but I donât want you to leave⌠I love youâŚâ I felt my ears turning red. âIf you love me, then why did you think you couldnât talk to me about this? I understand people needing their personal space, but you really didnât feel comfortable communicating with me about this? You really think Iâm the kind of person that would freak out over that?â She asked as tears welled up in her eyes.
âIâm sorry⌠you shouldnât have to put up with me,â I said, feeling defeated. âDonât say it like that, I like being with you.â She smiled softly as she stepped closer to me. âPlease forgive me, I really donât want to end things,â I said. âAlright, but make sure you talk to me from now on. Please?â She asked. âYeah,â I nodded as I pulled her into a hug. âOh, and you definitely have to make it up to me,â she smiled. âDefinitely,â I smiled back.
SANJI
TW* (Eating Disorder, Starvation, Insecurities, etc.)
Itâs been a few days now and Iâm seriously worried about (Y/N), I grabbed the untouched tray from her door step. â(Y/N) please open the door! Please!â I pleaded as I pounded on the door. No response. I looked at the tray with worry, itâs been 4 days and she hasnât stepped out of her room once. She hasnât touched any of the trays of food either⌠âIâm sorry!â I called out, before finally kicking the door down.
I heard a small yelp. I looked inside and saw her room, clothes thrown everywhere, her closet emptied, and my eyes finally fell to her. She was sitting at her small vanity table, hair disheveled, pale skin, and dull eyes. âYou really broke my door down?â She asked as she turned back to the vanity mirror. âI was worried about you, you havenât stepped out of this room in 4 days, eaten in 4 days! Iâm supposed to protect you, take care-â I was cut off. âShut up! You donât even care about me!â She spat.
âWhy would you say that?â I asked as I stepped closer. âBecause look at me⌠Iâm not as pretty as her, not as thin, tall, have crappy hair, dull eyes⌠I canât even compete against NamiâŚâ she said softly as her body began to tremble. I stood behind her and softly placed my hands on her shoulders, turning her around to face me. âAre you crazy? Youâre perfect, why are you comparing yourself to her?â I asked. âBecause I see the way you look at her⌠the way you talk about her. I mean⌠you wouldnât even let me touch her stupid dessert!â she glared.
â(Y/N) I love you, thereâs no other woman that I want to be with. You have to believe me,â I said. âKinda hard to believe you after that day,â she said as she avoided my eyes. âPlease, I never wanted to hurt your feelings. My chef hat mustâve been too tight that day⌠I hate seeing you like this. I miss seeing your beautiful eyes whenever you watch me cook. Your smile can light up 10 billion islands, I love seeing you fight with your hair, I love how you canât stay clean when we cook, I love how you never get tired of listening about my dream, and I love how youâve always been so patient with me⌠Even when Iâm being a shitty boyfriendâŚâ I said softly as I wiped her tears with my thumbs.Â
âI⌠I canât trust you,â she confessed. Those words felt like a knife went through my heart. âI understandâŚâ I said softly as I stood up. I held out my hand, she stared confusedly. âSanji?â She asked as she looked up. âIf youâll allow me, Iâll happily spend the rest of my life trying to prove to you how much I love you. I wonât let you feel 2nd place ever again,â I smiled softly, hoping sheâll accept. She stared at my hand for what felt like an eternity, but slowly placed hers in mine.
I quickly pulled her into a hug, âI know this doesnât mean youâre forgiving me, but thank you for giving me another chance,â I said softly as I held on tight. I felt her tense up, but slowly relaxed in my arms. âNow, come on,â I said as I lifted her up. âHuh? W-Where are we going?â She asked, gaining some color back onto her face. âTo the kitchen, I canât let a goddess starve any longer,â I smiled as I walked towards the kitchen. âI-I can walk,â she blushed. âNo way, I told you⌠Iâll happily spend the rest of my life proving myself to you,â I smiled.Â
LAW
You tossed your wrench, âFuck!â you cursed as you laid on the floor next to the wiring you disassembled. Thatâs it, youâve given up⌠you were starving, cold, and exhausted. âWhat time is it?â You asked yourself and checked your watch to see it was 10PM. âWoah⌠have I really been here all day? I havenât eaten⌠I- Law!â You said as you scrambled to your feet. âHeâs gonna be so mad at me⌠I acted so stubborn and stupid earlier,â You said worriedly as you rushed to your bedroom. You stopped right in front of your bedroom door. âI didnât even fix the stupid motor, so now I look like a useless asshole,â You whispered to yourself as you slowly entered the bedroom.Â
âThe asshole part is right,â you heard. You turned to see him sitting in the corner of the room reading under a lamp. You walked up slowly, âHi,â you said softly. âHey,â he glared. âDid you end up fixing the motor?â He asked. âN-No,â you stuttered. âMmm,â he nodded, focusing back on the pages of his book. âL-Law⌠Iâm sorry,â you said softly. âSorry? For what?â He asked, acting clueless. âI acted like an ass earlier, I just wanted to fix the stupid motor. I wanted to help, but I probably made things worse,â you sighed as you sat in the chair beside him. âOh well,â he said and closed his book. âI know you just wanted to help me earlier, but⌠I donât know. Thereâs no excuse for my behavior earlier,â you said as you watched him walk to bed. âWell, thank you for your apology,â he said as he tucked himself into bed.Â
You sat awkwardly in your chair, maybe this is his way of asking for space? âI-Iâll go bunk with Bepo tonight, you deserve some spaceâŚâ you trailed off as you headed towards the exit. âI didnât say you could leave,â his voice boomed. You slowly turned around and walked towards the bed. He stared at you for a few seconds, âCome on already, I know youâre exhausted,â he said as he lifted the blanket. You rushed over and hopped into bed with him. âIâm sorry,â you repeated as you nuzzled into his chest. âItâs fine, we all act like assholes once in a while. I know you just wanted to help fix the motor, but next time take my advice and take a break,â he said as he kissed your forehead. âMhmm, forgive me for my outburst earlier?â You asked. âYeah, but you owe me. I had to spend one of our days off alone,â he grumbled. âAlright,â you smiled before falling asleep in each otherâs arms.Â
ACE
Itâs been 2 days since our argument and (Y/N) has been avoiding me like the plague. âSomething wrong?â Marco asked. âI just donât get why (Y/N) is so mad at me⌠You guys leave all the time without telling us and we donât say anything,â I sighed as I banged my head against the bar. âWell, weâre not dating (Y/N). So she doesnât really have the right to know when weâre leaving, but she does for you,â he said. âWhat?â I asked. âWell wouldnât you be oissed if (Y/N) took off one day without even saying a goodbye, or even mentioning that she had a personal mission to do?â Marco asked. âWell I mean yeah, but⌠God Iâm such a shitty boyfriend,â I groaned. âNow you get it!â Marco laughed.
âAnd if I were you, Iâd apologize quickly. Heard through the grapevine she asked Pops to go on a personal mission for a while,â Marco said. âWhat? Without even- oh god Iâm an asshole!â I said as I raced towards her bedroom. â(Y/N)! (Y/N)! (Y/N)!â I said as I knocked on the door repeatedly. âWhat?â She asked as she swung the door open. âI heard youâre leaving? Why?â I asked. âNone of your business,â she said as she tried to shut the door, but my foot stopped it.
âIt is my business, I canât just let my-â she cut me off. âYour what? Cause last time I checked Iâm obviously not your girlfriend because you see me as nothing more than a crewmate,â she glared. âNo I⌠Iâm here to apologize,â I said slowly. âI didnât get why you were so upset, but now that the roles are reversed I get it now⌠Iâm acting like a shitty boyfriend, I should have told you that I was leaving. The thought of you just leaving without telling me anything⌠scares me, because youâre right, what if I never see you again?â I explained as I pushed my way through. She stepped back, âPlease forgive me,â I pleaded.Â
âYou donât get how many nights I laid awake wondering if I was never going to see you again. If you were ever going to hold me again⌠why would you put me through that?â She asked. âI wasnât thinking⌠I never think, Iâm just a big dumbass with an amazing girlfriend who actually puts up with me,â I confessed. âYouâre right, you are dumb. But at least you realize how amazing I am,â she softly smiled. I quickly pulled her in for a hug, âDonât think Iâm forgiving you just because you understand what you did wrong,â She said. âI know, I know. How should I make it up to you? Maybe I should spend the whole night making it up to you?â I asked slyly as my hands slid down her back. âOh u-ummâŚâ she blushed.
SABO
You have been ignoring Sabo for the past week. No matter how many times heâs tried to talk to you, give gifts, or whatever. You were sick and tired of him, you sat on a rock staring out into the sunset. âHey (Y/N),â you heard a voice behind you. You turned to see Koala, âHey Koala, whatâs up?â you asked. âNothing much, but I noticed you and Sabo had some sort of argument. He hasnât told me anything, but Iâm nervous I had something to do with it,â she said nervously as she sat beside me.
âWell to be honest, youâre only a small part of the problem. The real reason we fought is because he doesnât want to spend time with me⌠The few hours we have free he always spends it reading or training, that we canât goof off because weâre supposed to always be on high alert. But when heâs with you or anyone else heâs ok with goofing off and running off to go do something fun? Iâm over it, he asked me to be his girlfriend. So why should I have to put up with his behavior as if heâs doing me some huge favor of being with me?â You asked. âIâm sorry⌠I didnât even think about that⌠That is pretty crappy of him,â she said slowly. âYeah, but itâs fine. We can go back to just teammates if thatâs what he wants, since thatâs how Iâm being treated,â you sighed as you laid on your back.
âYouâre really not going to give him another chance?â She asked. âI donât know, but I do know that heâs in the trees behind us listening to us,â you said as you glanced over at Koala. âH-Huh?â She asked as she spun her head around. âUsed you as a cover,â you shrugged. âJeezâŚâ Koala huffed. âItâs fine, but I guess Iâll see you later,â you smiled. âYeah, donât be âtooâ hard on him,â she winked at me and I shrugged in response.Â
âHeyâŚâ Sabo called out as he sat beside you. âHi,â you replied. âI was just p-passing by I swear,â he smiled nervously. âYouâre such a bad liar,â you said. âLook⌠(Y/N), I just wanted to say sorry. I havenât been treating you so well these past few weeks and instead of spending my days off with you doing things that you like, Iâve gone off and either ignored you or left you aloneâŚâ he said slowly. âYep. Iâm glad you realized how crappy youâve been,â you said as you glanced over to him. âPlease forgive me?â He asked as he scooted closer to you. âNo,â you said, bluntly. âAt least give me another chance? I promise you wonât feel like this ever again,â he said as he grabbed your hand. You stared at him for a few seconds, âI guess, but if you ever pull this type of behavior again⌠who knows what will happen to you,â you playfully shrugged. âSounds like a deal,â he smiled. âBut⌠you do owe me, I still havenât forgiven you,â you smirked. âJeez, wonât let me off the hook so easily, huh?â he chuckled nervously. âNope,â you said.

Precious Tears (Luffy, Zoro, Sanji)
_____ Pairings: Luffy x Reader; Sanji x Reader; Zoro x Reader Summary: Self-doubt creeps up on you and you question if you are enough. Warnings: Hurt/Comfort, Body image in Sanji's A/N: Writer's block is not fun, but I hope you enjoy this :) [One Piece Masterlist] _____
- Luffy -
You don't feel the tears until they have already slipped past your cheeks and you're rushing to wipe them away. You don't know why you suddenly feel the onslaught of stress upon you but deep down you know that at the core it is doubt.
Self-doubt.
You adored your crew, of course, you did, and with more of your battles placed on papers that travel the world, there weren't many who didn't know of the Strawhats. However, with your successes came a lingering thought that was brought to the forefront of your mind: that you were being left behind.
Your friends were so strong and developed in their skills and knowledge, with dreams so incredible it was no wonder Luffy asked them to be a part of your crew. But you felt like you paled in comparison. You had joined with no real stand-out dream, only one that followed your crewmembers on their journey. Your position on the crew was also a haze, as you chipped into various roles and fought to the best of your ability, but you never stood out.
It had brought out a craze in you, a desperation to get better for your crew and to get better for your boyfriend. An irrational fear that maybe Luffy would see just how insignificant you were among your crewmates. You realise now that maybe you had worked yourself up too much over the matter, but you couldn't seem to stop.
You were exhausted after studying and training and trying to better yourself. Exhausted after witnessing how Luffy interacts with princesses, an empress, incredible women and doubting how he could ever be happy when he returns to your side. Exhausted, and now the tears were running and you were trying to stop your uneven breaths.
But only a second passes before a familiar voice reaches the confines of your room.
"Hey, [y/n]!"
You freeze as your boyfriend bursts into your shared chambers, hoping that in his excitement he doesn't stop to notice your puffy face. You frantically push your tears away, pushing back hair that had fallen to your face by the number of times you had run your hands through it in stress.
"Nami says we'll be arriving at the new Island in five minutes!! Let's go to the deck!"
Luffy's grin is wide and he shouts in his excitement. You quickly take the excuse to turn away and make it look as though you were collecting things for the trip, not facing him. "That's great Luffy, but you go ahead, I'll catch up." Your words come out less convincing and excited than you hoped, rather taking a duller tone. But you continue grabbing random things and putting them in a bag, fixing parts of your room so Luffy doesn't see your tear-stained face.
"I'll wait! I want to go together!"
"It's really okay, Luffy, I just need a minute."
"I'll wait!"
"Lu, please."
A long silence follows your words and for a moment you think that Luffy has left the room, but that is when you feel a surprisingly gentle hand on your shoulder. "Hey [y/n], you okay?" You stop your frantic movements and are honestly quite shocked by Luffy's words, but that is when you realise he must've noticed your tears when he first entered. Of course, he did. In areas where he would be the last to realise anything, he always seemed to be the first when it came to things about you.
Just that is enough to make more tears fall from your lashline, and all of a sudden, all you want is to be embraced by Luffy and told everything would be okay. Lucky for you, your boyfriend is right there, and so you fall into him and of course, he is there to hold you. Luffy will try not to show it, but he is silently more worried than you will know. Your tear-stained face was a rare sight and not one he liked seeing often.
The crew always has a special place in Luffy's heart, but you are so important to him in a different and even more intense way. You wouldn't know the depths of Luffy's anger until it was pointed at anyone who dared hurt you or injure you. You wouldn't know what lengths Luffy would go to for someone else's happiness, not until he showed you how far he would go just to make sure your smile never faltered on your face.
"[y/n], what's wrong? Are you hurt?"
Luffy's words are surprisingly calm and gentle. Like the seriousness you would hear amid his battles. You shake your head against him, and Luffy frowns though you do not see it. You feel the embarrassment fill you as you think of what internal battles have caused such inconvenience. You go to pull away, but when Luffy still sees the silent tears that run along your cheeks and the way your frown has yet to falter, he grabs you before you go too far.
"[y/n], what's wrong?"
"Luffy, it's really nothing serious. I'm sorry, let's just-"
"Tell me the truth."
Your eyes widen as Luffy's eyes sharpen when he hears your words slip your lips. He would listen to any concern you had to share, but he didn't want to hear lies or excuses, he wanted to help you; needed to. It was his duty as your Captain; it was his duty as your boyfriend. Your brows pull together and you swallow harshly, and finally, you let your thoughts slip from your mouth.
"I've just been thinking Lu, what if... what if I'm not what the crew needs anymore."
"What do you mean?"
Your gaze is now trained on the ground and so you do not see the way Luffy looks at you with utter confusion and the tilt of his head.
"I mean," your words are softer, head lightly throbbing with the intensity of your thoughts in your head, and the doubt that lingers within them. "The crew, our friends, they're so strong and capable and smart, and I'm just- I don't know. I feel like I'm kind of, useless amongst them, like I'm adrift. I- I don't even have a dream worthy of the Pirate King's crew. I-" You sigh brokenly, pulling at your hands in an anxious movement.
"What if I'm not good enough anymore, what if you deserve better than me... I see how Hancock looks at you, how many more powerful women look to you. They're more worthy of the title of Pirate Queen... Maybe we need a break, maybe I need a break from the crew, just until I get better, or stronger or something-"
"No!"
Your heart jumps at Luffy's sudden shout, and you look up to meet his angry facade, hiding the fear that the most important person to him might want to leave him, and his crew.
"But Luffy-"
"No, I don't want you to go! I don't want to date anyone else! I don't wanna break up!"
You stare in silence, unsure of what to say, unsure of anything but one word. "Why?" Your voice trembles, self-doubt makes your vision unclear, and weeks of burying it suddenly make it all you can see. "Why, Lu? I'm not that strong of a fighter like Zoro, I'm not smart like Nami or Robin, I can't cook or build ships or heal people... I'm nothing like them..."
"That's right you're [y/n]! And I don't want that to change!"
Luffy is pouting when he looks at you, but you know he is dead serious. "I want you on my adventure, I want you there when I become the Pirate King! I chose you for a reason! You're part of the crew, and you're important to us. If something is bothering you, we'll face it together!"
More tears line your eyes as you look to your boyfriend, suddenly speechless. "So, no leaving okay?" Luffy's words are soft and vulnerable once more; he doesn't think he could ever get used to when someone says they want to leave his crew, but he couldn't bear it if it was you. You nod silently, the beginnings of a smile making its way to your face as he wraps his arms around you and lets the stress of your words melt away.
When a short moment passes you look up to Luffy, and on his face is his signature wide grin, and utter adoration reflecting his eyes. You can't help the soft smile that reaches the corners of your own face at the sight. "So, a new Island huh? You want to check it out?" You murmur, and if possible, Luffy's grin only widens as he pulls away and clutches one of your hands in his.
"Let's go!"
Maybe your insecurities couldn't fade overnight, but with Luffy by your side, you felt like you would be just fine.
- Sanji -
You pull down the top you have on, adjusting the straps for the thousandth time. Your hair falls on your face and you push it back frantically, now looking to the mirror and seeing the distress clear on your face. Nothing looks right, you don't feel right, and suddenly all you want to do is crawl back into bed and ignore the island that awaits just outside the ship.
"Hey, [y/n], you ready? The guys should be waiting for us."
The door opens and Nami steps in with a smile on her face, beautiful as always, adorned in a tight-fitting dress and light makeup that made her skin seem to glow. "Yeah," your words are weaker than you intend and she pauses in concern, eyebrows furrowing. "You sure?" Her hand touches your shoulder in what you know is comfort, but self-doubt has filled you along with your unfair comparisons.
You nod quickly, grabbing your purse and forcing your eyes away from the mirror that seems to taunt you today. Nami smiles hesitantly, but leads the way nonetheless, soon absorbed in a conversation about clothes she's going to get. The next few minutes that follow are a blur to you, and you scarcely remember Nami pointing you in the direction of your boyfriend before running off.
The depths of the open markets do nothing but make your anxious thoughts rise and your doubt increase, as beautiful women smile as they pass you. The only thoughts providing comfort are of your boyfriend's awaiting presence... or so you thought. When you look up, you are met with a sight, close to all you could take for the day. Sanji, your boyfriend is immersed in conversation with a young, pretty woman with smiles and laughter and keen interest. You can already hear the compliments from the short distance away.
"Madame, your dress is utterly exquisite! And those flowers are beautiful, just where did you-"
You freeze at the sight of your boyfriend stepping closer, his hands delicately tracing the bouquet of flowers the woman has in her hands, smiling as she lets him look on. They are so close to each other that they could be mistaken for a couple, and what's worse they seem a good fit. Your handsome boyfriend and this beautiful woman. Did he realise now, how you dulled in comparison?
You feel something slip past your eye, and you quickly put a hand to your cheek, realising you are crying... in public. You quickly go to turn and leave, but you do not know if it is fortune or not when Sanji turns and chooses that moment to find you.
"Oh, love!"
You curse yourself as you frantically push your tears away, though they seem unable to slow. You turn for a moment to try to collect yourself, but Sanji is already moving to you, and you can only hope you look okay. "My love!! I have been waiting for your arrival!" He whizzes to your side, hearts in his eyes and desiring the only thing he had been waiting for all day: you. "Look what I've-" but Sanji's words falter when he sees you smiling up at him in a way that doesn't reflect your usual joy.
"Oh, Sanji, there you are! I've been looking all over for you." You try to implant enthusiasm into your tone as you see the way Sanji's eyes flicker, like a radar to your sadness. But your words sound monotone as they reach the air, dull and exhausted despite having done nothing all day. You're fine, you're fine you're fine... The same words repeat desperately in your head as your smile strains against your cheeks.
"Love, are you okay?"
Sanji's words are gentle to you but then his eyes grow wide, as though shocked by a sight that he sees. It takes you a minute to realise, that his simple words of concern are all it takes for more tears to slip past your eyes; you are crying. Despite your false smile fighting for its place on your face, you can no longer continue your fake facade, and you crumble. Hands go instantly to your face, as you look to the floor, trying to hide your show of vulnerability from the townsfolk that surround you, but the man in front of you has his heart beating frantically in his chest.
Why was his love crying?
Were you injured, hurt, threatened, insulted?
Who does he need to kill?
His mind is rampant with his concern and with his anger that was trying desperately to find the person to blame for your sorrow. His eyebrows pull together, worry filling him as he witnesses you try to hide your face from him, more tears falling before you have the chance to wipe them away. Just who has made the love of his life cry... how dare they? His body moves instinctively, craving to protect you from whatever hurt you feel now as arms pull you in.
You can't seem to care anymore and delve your face deep into his chest as he holds you and leads you to a more secluded area of town. When the two are out of the way of others, he gently releases you but still within arms reach. He delicately guides your face upwards and his heart clenches at the way your hands go to your face once more. "Love... It's okay, you're safe, you're okay-" His words tumble relentlessly out his mouth, pleading with you to stop the tears that have his heart breaking.
It takes several moments, but he finally coaxes you enough for you to place your hands away from your tearstained cheeks and look up at him with your glossy eyes. Sanji doesn't know how you look so beautiful even when you are crying. Honestly, you could be doing anything, wearing anything, and this man would still think you were the most beautiful sight in the world. He tries to push his love-lorn thoughts away for a moment, reminding himself there are greater matters at hand.
"Love, please, what's wrong?"
Your eyes travel his gaze, unsure of whether you should share what has been haunting you these past few days, and especially this morning. Sanji reaches out, tucking a loose strand of hair away from your face. "Love, you know you can trust me. We don't have to talk about it now but there seems to be a lot on your mind." Sanji had, after all, never really seen you cry the way you had today, and concern was all he knew.
"I'm just-" Your words are soft and hesitant and broken, but Sanji can only thumb soothing circles on your hips in the hopes that he can comfort you in the silence. "I don't feel good about myself right now. Nothing looks right, nothing feels right, and I just can't help but wonder. What if I'm not good enough? Sanji... I'm not pretty like other girls are, like Nami, like that woman you were talking to in the streets. You deserve better, I'm just-"
Your tears return and Sanji can't explain to you the amount of disbelief that floods his system at your words. You think you're not enough? For him? You were the most beautiful woman in the world, perfect in every measure of the word, and he can't help but shake his head in dismissal of your words. "Love, love, hey..." You gaze upward at his words and he catches your tears on his fingertips in marvel at your ethereal gaze.
"You are the most beautiful woman, I have ever had the pleasure to know. You are utterly stunning, love, I could spill compliments for eons if you let me. But my love, you are also so kind, generous, loving, caring, strong... If there's anyone who should be doubting their place in this relationship, it should be me. You are perfect, how could I ever let you go?"
Your gaze shines in utter surprise at the comforts that slip Sanji's lips, at the care in his hold, at the love in his irises. "I don't know what made you feel this way love, but I promise you, nothing could ever turn me away from you. You are beautiful." Your tears calm to nothing, if anything, a smile starts to twitch against your lips. You instantly lean into your boyfriend once more, arms wrapping themselves around him and his arms wrapping around you.
"Thank you Sanji, I love you." He kisses the top of your head with care before pulling away. "I love you too, my love." He then pauses before reaching down to his side and picking up something you had yet to see. "Oh, and this is for you love. The woman I was talking to earlier, she was a florist, she also recommended some dress stores we could have a look at."
In Sanji's hands was a beautiful bouquet of your favourite flowers, contained in elaborate wrapping. "Sanji, they're beautiful..." Tears skim your eyes once more, but a different kind. "Love, are you okay?!" Sanji exclaims, heart instantly picking up pace once more at the sight of your tears but he stops when a true, genuine smile reaches the corner of your lips. You were truly beautiful.
"Everything's perfect."
Sanji lets out a soft smile of his own and then holds out an arm for you to hold. "Come, my love, I found a lovely cafe down the street." You take his arm and follow him back into the liveliness of the markets, but this time with a lack of doubt that filled you. How could you ever feel that way, with such a doting boyfriend by your side?
- Zoro -
You take in a deep breath, steadying yourself before moving once more. Your knuckles were already black and bruised, muscles straining, but you couldn't seem to get yourself to stop. Words were tumbling in your head and the only way you could get it all to quieten for a little while was through the repetitive movements of your fists against the punching bag, battered and wilted after your onslaught.
You're not strong enough.
You're not good enough.
Loser. Weak. Failure
You yell out and at last, the punching bag gives way, tumbling to the floor. Your hands ache, and your mind is a buzz. You had been at it since much too early in the morning and dawn would soon break along the horizon. The hours spent training are taking a toll on your body, and it was not just today. Your thoughts had been running rampant for the past week, taking sleep from you, taking confidence from you.
Filling you with doubt.
You were a primary fighter on the Strawhat crew, but recently you felt as though your growth had faltered. You felt as though you were letting friends, and worse your boyfriend down. The crew had a particularly bad battle a week ago, and you felt like a lot of the disaster was your fault. Missing shots you should've made, getting hit when you should've easily been able to block attacks, unable to protect less attack-focused members of the crew due to your struggles.
Your friends had not blamed you, they had no reason to in their minds; it was a tough battle for everyone. But you saw it differently in your head, leading to early mornings and more hours spent in the crow's nest, before even your boyfriend's sessions. Another punching bag, another round, kicking and punching and losing yourself in the moment.
But even your body has its limits.
A sudden wave of dizziness stops you from moving any further, little stars entering your vision and forcing you to stop. You gasp for air before leaning on a wall and sliding to the ground. And then, all of a sudden it is like all your pent-up thoughts finally find release. You feel the beginning of tears fall from your lashline, and no matter how hard you grit your teeth, you suddenly can't make it stop. Words linger, harsher, throbbing in your head.
Weakness; was it weak to cry?
Your tears fall faster and your frustration does nothing to help. You are so lost in your mind that you do not notice a certain swordsman entering the room.
When Zoro woke up to the lack of you in his arms he couldn't deny the disappointment that flooded his chest, alongside his worry. He was not stupid, and he knew you were having trouble sleeping, not to mention he saw you more often in the crow's nest than usual. He wanted to give you space, knowing the pride that comes with working through your own problems, but he figured now his concern had won.
However, the last thing he expected when he made his way to the crow's nest was to see the tears that were streaming down your face. Instantly, his heart rate picks up. You were one of the strongest women he knows and rarely did he see you in a state of such vulnerability. He curses himself for not reaching out earlier, but more so, he is worried about what is causing you such distress.
Did someone hurt you?
Threaten you?
He swears he'll beat the living daylights out of the bastard that makes his woman cry.
"[y/n]"
Zoro's words are a murmur, softer than you would expect, and certainly softer than he expected after having the murderous thoughts he was having now. However, he finds himself unable to raise his voice in your presence, afraid to startle you somehow. He sees the way you clutch at your arms trying to hide within yourself, and internally winces at the bruises that scatter your knuckles and body, a sign you have clearly overworked yourself.
You have yet to react to his words, and it only causes his worry to worsen. Such emotions were ones he didn't think he could ever get used to, but ones you seemed to ignite in him; like the pain you were in made him hurt too somehow. Due to your lack of reaction, Zoro does the next best thing he can think of and sits next to you on the wall you leant on.
Your eyes instantly perk up at his warmth, and Zoro tries not to flush at the way your glistening gaze looks up to him. "Zoro..." You feel warmth reach your cheeks at the show of your tears in front of your boyfriend and move to frantically wipe your tears away, but Zoro stops you. He reaches out, clasping one of your hands in his, whilst his other hand thumbs your tears away.
"I'm sorry I-"
"What's wrong?" Zoro interrupts your words before they tumble in your embarrassment. Now both his hands hold one of yours, caressing bruises with a delicacy that matches the care he would use with his swords. "Nothing's wrong," you murmur, but that causes his eyes to sharpen as they look at you, not in anger, but in a way that makes the excuses on your tongue disappear.
"Tell me."
You hesitate, but it is only for a moment. And you feel some of your stress falter at your boyfriend's rare show of gentleness amongst his blunt words. "I just- I fucked up in that battle a week ago, and my training isn't going the way I hoped. I- I wasn't strong enough, fast enough. I was weak, and slow, I couldn't protect my friends. I feel like I'm not doing enough, Zoro..." Your words start to fade in their strength the more you say what's on your mind, and more tears slip past your lashline, causing your boyfriend's brows to furrow.
"I couldn't do anything... what if- what if I'm not strong enough for the crew now, what if someone gets hurt next time, what if I'm not enough-"
Your words stumble to a halt as your boyfriend's piercing eyes meet yours, a strange mix of sadness and disbelief in them. "[y/n]," now his words are hesitant, unused to the emotions that fill him or the need to comfort another. "You're strong, stronger than you know. I've seen it, your loyalty and your skill. So you had a bad fight? Everyone has them from time to time, everyone fucks up. But it's like the damn things you're always saying: You're enough, you're not alone."
Your eyes widen, and Zoro has to fight the flush on his cheeks once more at the delicate words that pass his lips "You don't need to train at insane hours and hurt yourself to prove your strength. I have your back, you have mine. So goddamit woman, would you stop thinking so much and see that?" His words are soft against the brashness of his words, eyes faltering from your gaze but hands sure as they hold yours. The beginning of a smile twitches and you feel your self-doubt flicker in the presence of your boyfriend; usually so harsh, becoming vulnerable for you.
"Zoro," you say, and your gaze meets his once more. "Thank you." Zoro smiles, soft and rare as he looks down at you. For a long moment, the two of you just sit there, side by side to each other, your head resting against his shoulder. You don't know when you fall asleep, but the next moment you find yourself waking in your shared room next to a napping Zoro, your hands bandaged with a care only your boyfriend could know.

SUPER SHY
sanji (opla) x fem reader
genre: angst to comfort !!
notes: request !! this is a bit of a long one⌠also, yes. the title is inspired by new jeans hehe. also, request have been closed for a bit because my inbox is flooded⌠i appreciate the support and will open requests again soon once i finish most of them!
you were sitting as you listened to nami complain about how the crew was running low on money because of luffyâs food needs. you thought about bringing up her clothing addiction, but since you wanted the ship to stay intact, you kept your mouth shut.
âand i always tell him that we have enough to last us in the kitchen, but he never listens! i swear next time he spends money on food without telling me iâll-â, ânami!â, sanji called out, walking out the kitchen with a tray of drinks. he quickly made his way over to the table that the two of you were at.
ânami, take this. itâll help you calm down. i know luffy can be stressfulâ, sanji smiled, handing nami the drink. âwhy thank you, sanjiâ, she smiled back, taking the drink from his hand. âhey! what did i do?!â, luffy shouted from the front of the boat where he was watching usopp fish. sanji simply didnât answer, continuing to smile at nami as he pushed off luffyâs whining.
finally, he turned to you. âfor youâ, sanji quickly said, handing you your drink and walking off. your eyes narrowed at the short lived interaction. it seemed like he didnât care about you as much as he did nami. maybe you were overthinking it. but what if you werenât? had you done something wrong? did you offend him or something?
ây/n?â, nami called out, tapping your shoulder. you jumped at the sudden touch, snapping out of it. âare you okay?â, she asked, a small bit of concern on her face. âyeah, iâm fine. iâm gonna go to the bathroomâ, you smiled, quickly dismissing yourself. before she could further question you, you were already gone.
you quickly shut the bathroom door behind you, letting out a sigh. looking up, you stared at your reflection in the mirror. walking closer, you began picking at parts of your face.
is there something wrong with me? sure, iâm not as pretty as nami or other girls, but am i that bad that someone like sanji would barely acknowledge meâŚ? he flirts with every woman he can, yet he always ignores me⌠that says a lot, huh?
before you could even realize it, there were tears streaming down your face. insecurities were swallowing you whole, it was unbearable. you leaned against the door, sliding down it as you tucked your knees against your chest and laid your head on your knees.
âhey, whoâs in there? i gotta use the bathroomâ, zoro asked, banging on the door. you jumped at his sudden presence. âsorry, iâll be out soonâ, you replied back, your voice unexpectedly quivering. you didnât hear a response for a moment, the silence making you a bit nervous. âiâll just wait, itâs fineâ, he replied. before you could respond, he walked away. you sighed as you rested your head against the door.
the day passed by quickly as everyone was seated eating the dinner sanji had prepared. âwhereâs y/n? nobody ever skips dinnerâ, sanji asked, holding an extra plate. everyone looked around, shrugging. âi havenât seen her since this afternoon, she mightâve fell asleep earlyâ, nami answered. sanji rose an eyebrow but didnât choose to question it.
after everyone, or so he thought, had left the kitchen, he started cleaning up what was left. âwhat the hell are you still doing in here?â, sanji groaned, being faced with the sight of the green-haired swordsman when he turned around. âquit whining, i can go wherever i wantâ, zoro fought back.
âdid you say something to y/n earlier?â, he asked, picking up a random fruit on the counter. sanji rose an eyebrow as he continued scrubbing the dishes, âno? why are you asking me thatâ, he asked. âwell, i saw her leave right after you gave nami and her those drinks. then i went to the bathroom and she was in there. sounded like she was crying or somethingâ, he told him. sanjis eyes widened at what he said, pausing everything he was doing. âshe was cryingâŚ?â, sanji muttered, turning to look at zoro who was playing catch with a random apple. âyeah, i guess. but if you say you didnât do anything then maybe it was something elseâ, he shrugged, placing the apple down and walking out. sanji stayed in the same position he was in for a moment, thinking about what zoro said. he didnât remember ever offending you, so what couldâve happened? he sighed, finishing up the last bit of the dishes left before closing up the kitchen.
soon enough, everything was packed away and sanji was able to go to sleep. he let out a yawn as he closed the kitchen door, rubbing his eyes. âfinally, iâm exhausted- SHITâ, he exclaimed in shock, running into someone. âwho the hell- y/n?â, he questioned in surprise. your eyes were wide as you realized who you had run into. you muttered small curses under your breath as you began to back away. âsorry, iâll get goingâ, you started, beginning to turn around as you started to walk away. âno, waitâ, sanji interfered, grabbing your wrist. your eyes widened at the motion. âwere you gonna try to get leftovers?â, he asked. you let out a light laugh, trying to skim over the topic. âwhat? no! i just- wellâŚâ, you stuttered. yeah, you were busted.
âwhy werenât you at dinner? nobody ever skips dinnerâ, sanji asked. his hand was still on your wrist as he looked into your eyes, a small bit of concern being prominent. âwasnât hungryâ, you muttered, looking away from him. he rose an eyebrow at your odd behavior, something was up and he knew it. âyou donât expect me to believe that when i just caught you trying to sneak leftovers, right?â, he asked, cocking his head to the side. âit doesnât matter, just forget it. im going to bedâ, you sighed, trying to pull your hand away from his hold. âtell me whatâs wrong, y/n. did something happen? did someone say something?â, he asked, trying to look you in the eyes, something you were dodging.
âwhere is this concern suddenly coming from?â, you muttered just loud enough so he could hear you. that left him even more confused than before, his eyebrows tightening as he tried to figure out what you meant. the silence finally pushed you to look at him. you wanted to scoff at his confused expression. âyou donât care about me like the others, and you donât have to pretend to because itâs just us hereâ, you told him, your voice a bit stern. his eyes widened at your words, shocked and lost. âwait, what? where is this coming from?â, he asked, a mix of concern and confusion lacing his words. âyou always avoid me, sanji, and it hurts. it hurts a lot. you donât look at me the same way you look at nami and other girls, you always keep our conversations short, hell, sometimes you donât even look at me when weâre talking. i get it, maybe iâm not pretty like nami, or as entertaining as luffy and usopp, but is that really enough of a reason to hate me?â, you ranted, your voice cracking. once you started, you couldnât get yourself to stop, it was a never ending pile of word vomit.
once you finished, you sighed, sniffling as you wiped a few tears running down your face. the silence was deafening as you looked at the ground, anxiously waiting for his response. ââŚis that really what you think?â, he finally muttered, his voice just loud enough so you could hear him. your silence clearly told him what your answer was. ây/n, look at meâ, he asked. you remained still, your eyes staring daggers into the ground. he sighed, gently moving your head with two fingers so youâd face him. âlisten to me when i say this. i do not hate you. itâs the complete opposite of that, actually. if i knew what i was doing made you feel like this, i wouldâve stopped being such a wimpâ, he sighed. you rose an eyebrow at his choice of words. âwimp?â, you questioned. âthe truth is that i really, really like you. so much that i become a nervous wreck around you. thatâs why i kept our conversations so short and never looked you in the eye. cause if i did, iâd probably explode on the spot. but to think that because i was such a coward that i had you feeling like this, had you skipping a meal all because i was nervous. iâm such an assholeâ, he spoke, his regret being notable in his tone.
your eyes were blown open at his words, your jaw a bit agape. this whole time you thought he hated your guts, but in reality, it was the complete opposite. he was just nervous around you. you didnât even know someone like him could get nervous around women. before you could reply, you felt his arms wrap around you, knocking the breath out of you due to shock. âim sorry, y/n. please forgive me. it hurts to see you cry, and itâs even worse knowing itâs my faultâ, he apologized, his voice dripping with sorrow. you opened your mouth to speak, but you couldnât even find words. you were shocked to say the least. sanji took the silence as a form of not accepting his apology, so he sighed. âitâs alright, i understand, iâll-â, âNO! no, wait. iâm just shocked, thatâs all⌠i forgive you⌠itâs alrightâ, you yelped, grabbing onto the sides of his arms. his eyes were wide for a moment, but quickly softened. a small smile grew on his face as he looked at you .
âyou know what would be a nice make-up gift, though?â, you started. âwhat is it? iâll do anything, you name itâ, he answered quickly, pulling away from you to look you in the eyes. just as you were about to speak, your stomach let out a loud grumble. the two of you froze for a second. âguess my stomach spoke for me, huh?â, you laughed. sanji let out a light chuckle.
âone fresh plate coming up!â

Straw hats with a member who was formally a celestial dragon's sl@Ve.
A/n: hehehe I always come back... *Insert the afton's bg music* request=?? requested: <yes> <no> wc: 1,140 warning: I only write for fun so grammar could be back. + some ooc?
âYou found it incredibly challenging to open up to others due to your reserved nature. Despite hoping that Jinbe's arrival would provide an opportunity for conversation, your shyness prevented you from engaging with him. Thus, when a celestial dragon attacked the sunny and remembered you, the entire crew was taken aback by the unexpected turn of events.
âLuffy would be SHOOK amid the battle and pause for a bit.
âHe'd turn and look for you, looking for an affirmation.
âWould shout your name a million times until you say something.
âWhen you said yes he'd have mixed feelings (sad and mad generally). Questions would start popping up, leaving him wondering why you hadn't said anything from the beginning.
âAfter he's done with the celestial dragon, he'll drag you and push you to talk.
âAfter your explanation, becoming the pirate king and destroying all the celestial dragons would give him more reasons to do so.
âZoro wouldn't hear about you being a slave. He's either lost or focused on eliminating the marines guarding the boat.
âSo when he returned to the ship and noticed the uncomfortable atmosphere, he would be perplexed and ask what had happened.
âHe's not good with words and comforting so he'll just shrug about it.
âBut he'd still be worried of course. He'd mutter "You can talk to me when you need someone, you know?"
âYou turned around, making sure that he said it. But he'd turn and walk away.
âHe's blushing inside and out so I hope you'll take his words seriously!
âUnlike Zoro, Nami would be mad AFFF.
âShe's not just mad at the celestial dragon but also you! The Straw Hats are a family, and there should be no secrets.
âBig sister mode activated: When you need to open up, she will be there to provide comfort and gently guide you through the process. She will support you by holding your hand and ensuring that you feel safe and supported every step of the way.
âAfter you're done explaining, she'd try to distract you about the past and would do shopping with you and Robin.
âWould def give weird stares to the celestial dragons the crew would meet.
âShe's now your therapist so congratulations!
âPoor Ussop. Boy was already pissing then he found out about your situation.
âHe'd feel sad after the argument. He never realized something major had happened to you before! I mean, you know how to hide itâŚ
âTried to assist you by offering you coffee and gave some words of encouragement.
âFor example: "At least you're with us now..." or "That's alright, it was all in the past now."
âAt one point, he was so worried that he accidentally splashed Zoro's shirt with the coffee he was supposed to give you, causing them to bicker.
âIt earned you a little laugh, and with that, Ussop was already happy.
âSanji, on the other hand, would pause on what the celestial dragon said.
âWhether it was true or not, he directly attacked the celestial dragon.
âNo female should ever go through that pain. Even if he hadn't experienced it, he knows how hard it would've been.
âHe'd shower you with praises and affection. "You did so good holding it all up..." or "You're here with us now. You can always rely on us..."
âHe was also the one who filled Zoro up on what was happening.
âWould look at you from time to time to see how you're doing.
â Chopper would be SHOCKED and worried.
âHe starts thinking about the pain and wounds that youâve gotten. It clicked to him and finally realized why you used to have a lot of scars on your back + arms.
âWhile youâre explaining to the crew your experience, Chopper went to his office and made some anti-anxiety pills âcause he doesnât want you to suffer anymore. (Robin had to kick him out).
âWould look at you endearingly and hold your hand around the ship. He just wants to make sure nothing bad will happen to you!
âOther than that, Chopper would still act normal and do some silly stuff with Luffy and Ussop.
âRobin is Robin. She already had some suspicions about your past, but she wants to hear the truth directly from your mouth.
âWhen she heard what the celestial dragon said she was a bit shocked. Yes, she had thought about it, but another person who suffered from the world government?
âShe wanted to hold you right then and there.
âIf Namiâs sitting on your left then sheâd be on your right. Sheâd pat your back and make you some tea. (Ussopâs coffee did not make itđ)
âAfter the talk, she became your therapist (w/h Nami. 2 heads are better than one they say.
âWill try to keep an ear out for you when you disappear on her POV and in an unknown place. (Yes an EAR)
âFranky was SUPERRRR shocked. Like Robin, he knew you were hiding something either. But he didnât push through. Your business is your business.
âWould be the one bombing the celestial dragonâs ship.
âWhile you were explaining your past, Franky was crying loudly and was playing sad music in the corner. (He had to get moved since his crying ws louder than ur voice)
âAfter the incident, nothing major really changed your dynamic.
âYou both were still goofy and youâd still do the âSUPERRRâ pose with him.
âBut even so, Franky is still glad that your past didnât affect the present negatively; instead, it made you stronger.
âBrook is another person who'll be shocked.
âHe didn't think much about everyone's past. He likes to mind his own business and when someone opens up to him, he'll listen wholeheartedly and give some advice.
âSo when you open up to the whole crew he'll just listen. He'd give some side comments here and there but that's that.
âLike Franky, nothing would change with your dynamic. He might be a little protective but he knows that you could handle yourself.
âThe moral of the story is to find someone like Brook.
âJimbei would be mad mad AF
âHe's Luffy but 10x worse when it comes to the celestial dragon topic.
âHe was never captured as a slave, but as a member of the Fishman species, he understands the immense hardships that must have been inflicted upon them. Being subjected to torture at the hands of one's kind was an even more maddening experience.
âBut even so, Jimbei would be happy that you're finally free and is with the crew.
âAfter your discussion with the group, he would politely excuse himself and usher you into a private conversation. His demeanor would resemble that of an older brother, emanating a deep sense of care and understanding, while also imparting his valuable knowledge.
âSafe to say you have another buddy to talk with.
A/n: I LOVE JIMBEI SO MUCH.

Baby Mama (OPLA HEADCANNONS)
In honor of mothers day, here some little headcannons I cooked up for our faves! Hope yall enjoy lol
Luffy
-This mf was like...actually capable of conceiving a child lmao.
-There was really no like initial shock, it was more like overwhelming joy? There was honestly no need to reveal it to the rest of the crew since the second you told him he shouted it loud ad fucing possible.
-"Luffy, uhhh I think im pregnant." You huff, hand over your forehead as you try to figure out the next course of action.
"YOURE PREGNANT?! THATS GREAT!"
"Y/N IS WHAT?" Nami gasps, eyes flitting form you to Luffy, then to your belly.
"YOUâRE PREGNANT?! HOW?" Usopp questions, only to have Sanji interrupt,
"Well Usopp, when two people love eachother- or well... lets talk about he birds and the bee-"
"I KNOW HOW THAT WORKS DICKHEAD-"
-Luffy is a.....he's a great dad, just a little uhhhh...wild?
-You have to explain tho him that this baby cannot fucking eat solid food.
-He's learning and thatâs all that matters. He knows when to get serious about his kid and when its okay to be a lil silly.
-Oh and be prepared for when your kid hits about 6-7 cause they're so much like their father its crazy-
Zoro
-He's thuroughly convinced its your fault because he knows for a fact he has impeccable pull out.
-"Thatâs not mine." He hums, pointing at the newborn with a raise brow.
The fucking liar this baby is his spitting image. Like your genes didn't evens stand a chance. The baby even fucking mean mugs like he does, that lil stoic face.
-"This isnât yours?" You question, holding the baby up side by side with his obvious father.
"Nope"
-Once heâs like fully processed and accepted the fact that your pussy just so happened to weaken his pull out game, he will claim the child and make sure he's being helpful with both you and the infant.
-It was actually pretty fucking hilarious to see the baby try and latch to his nipple cause his tits are fucking massive. Heeee didnât think it was that funny thođ
-Just let the kid grow up a little bit and theyâre all about their father, and even though he may not show it all the time, he adores his baby. And they will always be a baby in his eyes. And he things youâre a phenomenal mother even though it was sort of a surprise.
Nami
-You had come aboaded with a toddler. And sure enough they latched to Nami in a heartbeat.
-âAHT! No, you stay with me and let them work.â You reprimand, giving a quick apology to the tangarine haired girl.
âOh no theyâre okay. Hey, you wanna see something cool?â He hum, taking the 2 year old by the hand before you can protest.
-Auntie Nami accidentally turned to âmamamiâ (Mama Nami) andddd it just stuck.
-one night the three of you had fall asleep in Namiâsquarter and she had woke up and just, admires you both. She couldnât help the way her chest squeezed when she thought about raising this child with you or how much she loved being a part of your lives.
Your eyes flutter open and you give her a knowing look, her face already tinted pink.
âNami,â you begin, your free hand pushing hair behind her ear as she hold your wrist, placing a kiss there.
âThank you, love you.â You hum, letting yourself fall back asleep.
-yeah sheâs stuck with you two for life
-unironically calls you her baby mama
Usopp
-is literally the best fuckinf dad. Literally ever.
-he wants to make sure heâs an active part of your childâs life, being sure to keep you both in good health and high spirits.
-when you broke the news he was terrified. How good of a father could he be? He just donât want to let you down.
-âW-What if our kid hates me?â He voices one night, hands holding your tummy.
âI doubt thatâll happen. Youâll be okay Uso.â
-Guess having impeccable aim runs in the family because by time your child is year theyâre already throwing projectiles with phenomenal accuracy.
-you canât tell me he doesnât make most of your babies toys.
-he loves seeing you just have little moments with your baby, he definetly cried when they took their first steps.
-keeps a picture of the three of you tucked away
-hints at wanting another one from time to time
Sanji
-fainted when you told him.
-honestly heâs a little shocked. He didnât really put âfatherâ on his goal list but here yall are lol
-heâs very supported and knows that morning sickness is a bitchhhh
-âhowâre my girlsâŚor boyâ he greets, pressing a kiss to your tummy then to your lips.
-much to his surprise, he was right on both parts because youâre having twins! Yayyyyy
-you cuss him out when your in labor.
-âSANJI YOU ASSHOLE! YOU DID THIS TO ME! WHY DID I FALL FOR YOUR DELICIOUS FOOD YOU FUCK!â
-heâs not allowed in the delivery room lmao he fainted again when the nurse asked if heâd like to see what was goin on
-after 6 horrendous hours, your baby boy and girl are finally born and heâs too delighted.
-âgood job baby.â He praises, peppering your tired face with kisses.
-when the kids are older heâs always falling victim to their puppy eyes and begging when they ask for dessert before dinner
-âplease dad! We wonât tell mom! Pleaseeee!â
-he loves being with you and loves that heâs been blasted with a wonderful wife and two beautiful children
Shanks
-oh the minute he found out he was stunned! He was sure he already had an illegitimate baby somewhere but for one of the baby mamas to actually let him know was, a bit of a surprised?
-and thatâs it. He doesnât really go out of his way to go visit and see if itâs true. He goes on about his business truely.
-one day, he comes across a lady at a bar, her bright red hair thrown up and she waits tables, her gaze almost immediately locking on his as she frowns
-âŚ.what the fuck she looks just like him.
-she goes to a couple other of the waiters/waitresses and the minute they catch his gaze theyâre nodding profusely at her.
-it took, shit you not. 3 hours for them to get a table and that was only because her boss came in and MADE her seat the crew.
-âwhat do you want.â She huffs, her notepad clenched so tight it crumples the paper.
Shanks only further studies the girl, her rage ever present as she slams the notepad down.
âI SAID, What. Do. You. Want. Quickly, or Iâm leaving you here to wait 3 more hours. Spit it the fuck out you old bastard.â She spits, leaving him somewhat shocked.
-âHow about the-â
-âweâre all out. Deadbeat.â She finishes, dropping her apron and notepad, then walking out.
Safe to say that wasnât the reaction he was expecting.
-when he finds where you guys live and YOU answer the door thank god, he firstly apologizes (which you donât accept right away) and explains how he already met your daughter.
Speak of the devil she had just rounded the corner asking who it was.
âDonât let this fucker the house mom, please.â She begs, gaze flittering form you to her sperm donor.
-yeahhhhhh this is why he hardly ever makes the effort to see his unsuspecting kids. Doesnât quite pan out how he thinks.
Mihawk
- youâre not the only one at all. Heâs got plenty fucking kids running around and youâre fully aware of that, having run into more than one child that looks just mf like him.
-he wonât deny any of them, but he doesnât feel like he owes them anything either? Itâs weird and you usually feel bad that he picked you and your child when he could very well have done that for the rest of them.
-he often assures you that weâre were one night stand situations he hardly remembers after being so damn drunk.
-heâs a good dad though and a great husband. He makes sure youâre taken care of even is heâs gone a lot of the time. When you told him you were having a baby he didnât leave from your side.
-when the baby is born heâs a bit suprised they donât look like him but as soon as they open their eyes heâs so mf smug. Those eyes are a dead giveaways thatâs his baby.
-donât let that baby ask for something be used Mihawk will without a doubt give it to them no matter what.
-âHoney I-â
-there standing in front of the fridge, in laminated with its light are your husband and child. Their eyes wide like an owls, staring directly into your soul.
-âWe wanted ice cream.â
Buggy
-he loves his babies. Hands down loves his fucking babies. Plural because of course you were blessed/cursed with triplets.
-two boys, one sweet girl, and not one of them look like their daddy, besides that faint tint of blue in their hair.
-and heâs maddddd, well. not at you but at his genes.
-âhoney wait, they might just grow into it?â You encourage, trying not to laugh as he tried to figure out why his kids donât look like him.
-thank god you were right because by time they were all 4/5 that blue had brightened and the little red glow of their noses were ever present.
-heâs so attentive with you, taking care of the three of them when you need rest or just in general cause how gorgeous wife needs rest after making three gorgeous babies
-freaks his babies out when he takes his head off
-then they wonât leave him the fuck alone about it and will often take pieces of him while he chases them around for them back.
-his babies get their own spot on the show and it fucking adorable watching toddlers dance to circus music with face paint they insisted they do themselves
-best dad buggy 100%

âââââ
LUFFY
Long before you and Luffy even got together you knew he was solely motivated by his wants, childishly so. He saw a platter of food meant for everyone? Heâd eat it all before anyone else got a chance to grab a fork. Someone tried to tell him he was too weak to beat them? Luffy had the first punch thrown before they could blink. If he wanted something he was vocal about it. It was a simplistic way to be and at least you and the crew always knew how to keep your Captain happy. There was never any guessing, even when he was unconscious.
Of course once again heâd pushed his body to the limit to win a fight and now he was dealing with the consequences. Chopper had tended to his wounds and you approached his now sleeping form with a tired but proud smile. You were used to this but still you couldnât help but worry about the strain his body was being put through time and time again. âYou know once he wakes, heâll be shouting for meat and jumping around like nothing happened.â Nami muttered like a disapproving mother as she left and you let out a small laugh.Â
Now close enough you lightly pushed the hair from his face, smiling to see that the mention of meat had made him grin in his sleep. Your worries all but left you now to see that. As long as he could smile, you would find the strength to do so too. You pulled your hand back and turned to leave the room, letting your significant -but reckless- other rest. Except you stopped when his hand clasped around your wrist. You turned in shock, he was awake already?
Your eyes widened to see that he was still unconscious. You were about to call for Chopper but all that could escape your lips was a gasp of surprise when you were abruptly pulled down onto the bed. Through muscle memory or pure instinct, Luffy lay with his arms around you the perfect balance of protectiveness and possessiveness in his hold. It was like this every night you both slept in your shared quarters. When his head lay against your chest while mumbling your name in in his sleep you smiled warmly, overcome with a sense of belonging and joy to know that you will always be something Luffy needed.
ZORO
Zoro was frustrated; his form was too tense, nothing was landing the way he wanted, the way he needed to. If he was to get stronger, to become the best this wasnât good enough. If he was in an actual fight and not training heâd be losing. Angrily he swore and let his weights fall loudly onto the floor. Storming out of the Crowâs Nest he sought the one thing he desperately needed to make this frustration and tension go away. Listening intently he heard your familiar laugh sound from the kitchen and dining room. Striding in he saw you listening to Usopp telling a story of the crewâs adventures from the early days before youâd joined.Â
Just seeing you help Usopp cleaning up was enough to help his mood but still it wasnât enough. He needed more, he craved you. Your warmth, your very essence and it was now he realised why he had felt so off. He hadnât gotten enough of you today. With the watch rotations from the night before, usual morning chores, and then when Robin and Chopper had called you away to help them with their nonsense it had disrupted your usual time together completely. Now that he knew what his issue was, the solution was so simple. Wasting no more time he walked across the room with you in his sights.Â
Youâd blinked in confusion when Usopp trailed off in the middle of his story and looked behind your shoulder. Slowly you turned and smiled at Zoro, believing heâd only stop his training midway through for food or an equally important emergency. âHey, is everything okay? Do you need something?âÂ
âYeah. You.â Zoro stated firmly when he closed the distance. Before you could react, your boyfriend had his hands secured to your waist and pulled you forward so his lips could find yours, coaxing you into an increasingly hungry, intense kiss. Zoro savoured every moment of it, taking in every second and reclaiming the time heâd lost out on just being with you. As dizzying and as powerful the kiss was you could feel the shift in your lover; as subtle as it was you could tell he had been holding onto something that was making him more tense than normal. If this was what fixed it you werenât complaining. When you finally pulled away to catch your breath, Zoro let out a huff of relief.Â
Now energised and focussed, Zoro threw you over his shoulder allowing himself a smirk when you yelped at the sudden action. Knowing it was pointless to even pretend like you wanted to struggle out of his hold you enjoyed the luxury of Zoro carrying you out of the kitchen and up to the Crows Nest so he could finish his training. Whether you remained on his shoulder or just sitting to the side and watching it didnât matter to Zoro. As long as he had you in his vicinity, one of his main motivations for getting stronger that was all that mattered. Â
SHANKS
âIf you think youâre looking cool and brooding over here, I hate to break it to you Captain you look more like youâre sulking.â Beckman laughed from behind his mug of ale. Shank clicked his tongue in annoyance and took a slow sip of his own drink, watching as you talked and laughed with the new recruits of the crew. Youâd all decided to stay the night at one of the islands under your protection. The first time for the new recruits to get to terms with how the Red Haired Pirates did things beyond just sailing the seas. It also gave everyone a chance to unwind and enjoy some shore leave.Â
It was only natural that the new crew members would gravitate towards you, after all you were the go-between for them. You were the one they asked for help with things to avoid disappointing or angering their intimidating but inspiring Captain. They were still finding their place in the crew with the longer standing members and youâd promised them all it would take time and that theyâd all been welcomed onto the crew for a reason. Still they all felt the most comfortable with you so far. Unfortunately your lover and Captain didnât want to see it that way. He was jealous of them claiming your attention all the time and he missed you even though you hadnât gone anywhere. Â
Shanksâ eyes met yours when you looked over to check on him. He tried to keep his expression level but clearly it wasnât convincing enough because you swiftly but politely excused yourself from the group you were with and stepped up to where your Captain was sitting. Slowly you turned your head towards Beckman and jerked your head. A silent request for him to leave you both alone. As much as heâd love to stay and watch you expertly handle the Pirate Emperor he knew to give you both some sort of privacy and left.Â
With a tired sigh you slid into Shanksâ lap, throwing your legs over his and tucking your head under his chin. Wordlessly you took his mug of ale from his hand and coaxed his arm around your waist. âThis is what you wanted right? Me all to yourself.â You asked with a smile before taking a sip of the ale. You knew Shanks better than most, he wouldnât offer an explanation for his mood unless you started the conversation. His arm tightened around you and he chuckled softly.Â
âCan you blame me? Your very presence is utterly intoxicating to me. Why would I want to share my treasure with anyone?â Shanks asked and you rolled your eyes at his words with a small smile. You did want to remind him that he had nothing to be jealous about, everyone knew you were an item but still it was cute to have him still be like this after so many years together. âI mean it you know. I canât get enough of you, need you more than breathing.â

Please I have baby fever! I NEED monster trio as dads headcanons. I blame Bluey for this. Thanks in advance đđ¤đž
Monster trio as fathers
Ft; Luffy, Zoro, Sanji
Cw; Fem reader. Nothing else just fluff.
â˘Luffy
Luffy gets you pregnant by accident. But heâs not worried about it at all, heâs really happy. âWeâre having a baby?! Thatâs so cool!â Heâs very excited to be a father but knows little to nothing about it.
You two have a baby girl. And heâs so happy! He doesnât care much about the gender of the baby. Heâll love his child no matter what. The second sheâs out of you and into his hands he holds her up for everyone to see. âLook! Look sheâs here!â He shouts while joyful tears fall from his cheeks.
His little girl gets only the best from Luffy. He bathes her, feeds her and changes her all the time. He feeds her a little bit too much, and she has a never ending stomach like her father. Sheâs almost always hungry resulting in baby chub.
A giggly baby! This girl loves to laugh! She laughs more then anything else and with her jokester of a father she gets more then enough daily giggles. His stretchy skin makes for a great toy! He can pull on his face and make funny faces. Give her a finger to tug and listen to her laugh as it stretches. And even great to chew on. She kinda ends up thinking every human is like that though and tugs on people randomly. And sheâs got a lot of strength for a baby (I mean look at who her dad is.) The force of her tug was enough to trip Zoro.
But once sheâs old enough to start crawling and waddling, Luffyâs always active with her, chasing her, playing tag with her and playing with her. Her baby chub quickly melts away with him around. Sheâs so playful, always babbling and tugging on his leg to chase her and Luffyâs always up for the challenge. She has Luffyâs big wide eyes and looks like a carbon copy of her father.
These two are always talking, like always. Even when she literally canât communicate beyond a few words and the rest is babbles. He will sit there and listen to her for hours on end and respond to everything sheâs saying as if sheâs actually speaking. He loves hearing her voice, whether itâs her managing to say âpapaâ or her spitting her tongue out at him.
He takes her everywhere with him. Heâs always holding her close to his chest while exploring new towns and villages. Everyone tells him not to bring her into dangerous places but he doesnât listen. So to calm everyoneâs nerves a little bit, Franky makes him a chest baby carrier thatâs reinforced with armor. That only ends up making it worse though because now he thinks he can take her exploring with him. Like this man sees no problem in adventuring in a scary, dark forest where man eating predators are everywhere with a baby. He slingshots back to the ship with her in her carrier giggling against his chest and he feels proud of himself. Only for Nami to hit him and tell him how dangerous that was. The only situation he hands her off to you or someone else is when heâs about to engage in a tough battle. Heâs confident in his skills and knows he can win but heâs not taking any chances of his sunshine getting hurt.
Given she looks just like her father, (and the fact he practically shoved her in Kobyâs and Helmeppoâs faces when their fleet showed up to apprehend them) the navy knows the king of the pirates has a child. Theyâve been trying to wipe you off the map for some time now and the same goes for your daughter despite her only being months old. No matter theyâre not getting their hands on her. Luffy is serious when anything has to do with his daughter and if the marines think they can pull a fast one on him and kidnap his daughter, He sends their whole fleet to a watery grave. Even taking out every nearby marine base in the area to send a loud and clear message to the marines. âDonât fuck with his daughter.â
When sheâs around 5 the two somehow manage to get even closer then before. With her newfound ability to talk and make sense while doing it. They talk for HOURS. About food, games, books, the sky, fishing, everything. He tells her tales of his adventures and how her papa became pirate king. The two are best friends.
In all honesty he wants another one, maybe two, or three if you let him. She brings him back to when he was a kid and he wants her to have siblings like he did. But then he remembers an important lesson that he passes down to his daughter.
Luffy sits on the thousand Sunnyâs figurehead. His daughter sitting besides him and wearing her straw hat that he had passed down to her. The little girl carrying the legacy of the king of the pirates without knowing it. Theyâre both silent but itâs a comfortable silence. He then looks over to her with a soft smile on his lips, bringing a finger up to her cheek and poking her. He laughs and brings her closer to him sitting her down on his lap. Some wisdom from the past remerges while he watches the sunset with his daughter. And suddenly he begins to speak. âHereâs a little secret sunshine, once you share a bottle of sake, you can become siblings with anyone.â
âReally? Thatâs all it takes?â
âOf course it does! Your papa would never lie to you! So when you find your long lost sibling. Rejoice with them over sake. Alright?â
âAlright papa!â Luffy smiles and looks at the setting sun wondering what the future held for the little girl who had the world in her palms.
â˘Zoro
âRun that by me againâŚ?â Just like Luffy, Zoro gets you pregnant by accident. Itâs not that heâs scared or anything, youâre the only woman heâd want to have a child with. But itâs just that heâs not prepared. It was something he wasnât expecting.
The two of you have a baby boy. In all honesty thatâs what he was hoping for. You swear while youâre recovering from giving birth you heard him give out a small cheer in triumph when Chopper announced the gender. âDid he think this was a challenge?!â Heâs attached the second he holds him. His son melts his heart when he grasps his giant finger with his tiny one.
Although he wasnât prepared heâs surprisingly good with a child. He changes him, feeds him and bathes him. Bonding over the little moments like washing out his hair for the first time. You swear you saw tears but this man literally forced the tear back into his eye when you pointed it out.
His son is silent baby. He doesnât cry, he doesnât whine. He only lets out small babbles every now and again when heâs trying to get your attention. You ask Chopper if heâs okay and heâs perfectly healthy. He just doesnât show a lot of emotion. You can get him to laugh, giggle and smile if you try but on the day to day he is totally silent.
When Zoro has to watch him, he trains with him on top of him. Using his son as a little extra weight. Itâs kinda adorable actually. Heâs lifting up tons of weight above his head while the baby boy is sucking his thumb in the sling around his chest. Heâs acting so tough while doing dead lifts. And every time he comes back down he gives his son a little forehead kiss.
When he begins crawling and waddling Zoro is determined to get him walking. Heâs literally the best baby coach, always hyping his son up for the littlest things. â âAtta boy!â âThatâs my son!â âDid anyone else see that?! Thatâs my kid! He came from me!â Like- calm down he just clapped his hands. He supports his son in every little thing and helps him walk for the first time. Again he sucks up his tears and pretends heâs not crying. Heâs so proud of the little guy.
He mostly hands him off to you when you guys are on a new island. He knows his son is safe with you, and with you carrying the baby he can protect both of you at the same time. Plus heâs known to get lost and one of his worse fears is getting lost with his child. If heâs lost by himself as least he knows you two are both safe. If he got lost with his child heâd be paranoid for his childâs safety. He knows he can protect him from any physical harm but he canât use three sword style with him near. Plus heâd have to make sure heâs hydrated, and well fed, and itâs just a lot of stress on him. Itâs better if you have him and stick in groups when exploring.
When heâs finally starting to walk on his own Zoro buys him a small wooden toy sword. And just like his father heâs skilled with a sword. He loves it a lot, he likes to swing it on anything and everything. He often knocks anyone who walks past him on their legs and his favorite victim is Sanji. And Zoroâs just like âYes, Yes hit him!â You apologize daily to Sanji when you find your son has been beating him up all day. Your son is confused, Papa says yes and mama says no. So to please you both he hits Sanji when his fatherâs near and doesnât when youâre nearby.
Once heâs 5 Zoro starts training his little boy. Heâs not soft on him at all and respects him as a swordsmen. Although Zoro loved his teacher when he was younger he just had wished he had treated him like he was an equal instead of a child. So he instructs his son as if they are equal. Most think this would cause him to relent his father but your son has Roronoa genes and it just bonds him closer with his father.
Zoroâs sword clashes against the smaller sword as his sonâs stance was getting tougher and harder to block. Nonetheless Zoro doesnât let him win. He smacks the sword out of his hand and makes him yield. âThatâs another win-â Zoro goes to speak but he sees the slight tension in his sonâs eyes and immediately bends down to the boyâs height. âWhatâs troubling ya kid?â
âI just donât get it. I can defeat pirates twice my size, Marines, almost anyone, but I canât beat you.â Zoro hears his sonâs lament and it reminds him of a familiar feeling he had when he was younger. And before he can speak another word Zoro leans in and hugs him. âSo? What does it matter. Maybe one day youâll beat me, maybe one day you wonât. Maybe one day youâll beat someone stronger than me⌠maybe you wonât. And thatâs okay. You donât have to do anything you donât want to, and if you want to defeat me well itâll take a lot longer and more practice.â Zoro picks up the green haired boy and holds him in his hands running a hand through his shaggy locks.
âDonât pressure yourself. Just worry about what you can do today. Tomorrow will always exist.â Zoro says simply and that calms the five year oldâs nerves. The male gives him a smile and ruffles his locks before going to leave the crowâs nest. âAlright now letâs find mama.â
â˘Sanji
Unlike everyone else, Sanji gets you pregnant because you two think youâre ready for a child. Keyword Is think. âOh my love~ Iâve prepared the strawberries cream cheese and jalapeĂąosďżź youâve request~!â You donât lift a finger during your pregnancy. Sanji does everything for you and forbids you to go exploring or fight during this time. For better or for worse you stay with the Sunny every time it docks. And Sanji prefers to stay with you every time but if he genuinely canât and needs to help protect the crew he kisses you like itâs his last every single time.
You two have a baby girl and Sanji is ecstatic. Heâs going overboard already, buying hundreds of outfits, toys and baby equipment. He bathes her, cleans her, feeds her and if he knew how Sanji would breath for her. You rarely get to see her and sheâs YOUR baby. Like Sanjiâs practically raising her all by himself. He does her hair, combing her long blonde locks back into two big pigtails. She looks just like her father, even having his âcurly browsâ.
Sheâs a shy baby. Sheâs a scaredy cat, and she cries easily. Sanjiâs always there to help her feel better. Heâs always there to rock her to sleep, and to play with her to stop her from crying. It takes a while for her to get settled with the crew as they all sorta scared her and made her tear up. But Zoro scared her the most for some odd reason. She starts screaming and crying whenever he enters the room and Sanji immediately gets pissed at him. âGET OUT OF HERE MOSS HEAD!â And your daughter is grateful her fatherâs there to protect her from that scary man.
He sits her down in a high chair nearby while heâs cooking. Making sure to keep her far away from any harm but close enough encase she falls out of the chair. She loves to sing and babble Melodies. She makes the perfect cooking partner. He listens to her sing while he works and hands off little cuts of food to her to taste. âHmm this taste good?â Heâd ask when he hands her a slice carrot. She babbles happily nodding her head while chewing on the carrot slice.
Heâs a helicopter parent. Heâs always making sure his baby girl is safe. Heâs always checking that knifes are put away, and that she canât play with anything dangerous. Hell he even bubble wraps some baby toys that are too sharp for his likings (calm down babe itâs a plastic fishing rod). He keeps her away from the railings, standing far back and holding her tightly so thereâs no chance of her falling in. The worse thing that could possibly happen to him is if she ever gets hurt. Even small bumps or her falling down breaks his self esteem. âIâm a terrible father, how could I have let this happen.â He soothes her pain to the best of his ability but feels so, so terrible he let it happen.
Heâs a picture dad. Whoever let this man get his hands on a camera made the biggest mistake of their lives because now they have to deal with him showing them baby pictures of her. Every single second of the day. âOh! Oh hereâs where she spit out her tongue at her food! And hereâs her sleepy face! Isnât she so adorable!â He gushes over her showing them pictures and taking up their life while his daughter is right there staring at them both. He takes pictures of every little moment and makes not just one scrap book, but multiple. On every island he makes sure to stock up on camera film because itâs most likely going to be gone by tomorrow.
Speaking of which when the Sunny is docked on a new island your daughter is with you at all times. Knowing Luffyâs attraction to danger and how heâs one of the strongest he often has to fight. He instructs you to run and hide in the safest place possible with your daughter if danger arises. He trusts you to protect her but when push comes to shove but he rather you both are safe while thereâs danger around. And if youâre threatened, or worse. Your daughter is. Sanji will rip anyone who threatens his family apart and with no remorse. Even women. Thatâs how you know heâs serious.
When sheâs 5 Sanjiâs even closer with his little one. He buys her anything she asks for! Itâs all worth it just to see her smile. (Nami never gives him allowance anymore since he spent millions of berry on a purebred horse rental for her). Sheâs the sweetest little girl around, and has a soft spot for animals. She wants to become a veterinarian even. And while Sanji knows little to nothing about animal care, heâs still his daughterâs biggest fan and supporter. But his world opened when he found his daughter we crying, he wondered why but then saw the dead squirrel in her palms. She must have snuck it back on the ship and kept it as a pet, but due to Sanjiâs sheltering she didnât know what was going on. He neglected to teach her about death, he thought such scary things and concepts could wait until she was older but it was clear he made a mistake.
âP-papaâŚ.â âOh come here sweetheartâŚâ Sanji engulfs her in a hug and pulls her into his lap while she cries into his chest. âI donât know why he wonât wake up! I brought him food and water! B-but he hasnât woken up in two days! I-I donât know why but I feel sad! W-whatâs wrong with Mr. Squirrel?â As his daughter cries and sniffles against him he doesnât know where to start really. He stammers over his words before he starts. âHoneyâŚMr. Squirrel is deadâŚâ âHe stopped breathing and now heâs not here anymore. No one knows where you go when you die but heâs not with us anymore.â
âO-oh⌠well can he come back and say goodbye first?â
âIâm sorry sweetie but thatâs not possible.â
âOh wellâŚ. Can⌠can we die too? Is that gonna happen to you one day? And⌠mama? And me?â
âYes sweetheart. Everyone dies. But itâs always at the right time, youâll make memories youâll never forget and when itâs time for your journey to end. It must meet its end.â
âI donât want to die.â
âNo one does. And if you could live forever Iâd find a way for you too. But for now itâs something that happens to everyone and everything. Thereâs no need to be scared of it. Itâs just apart of life. Donât worry about it now my love, for now we can burry Mr. Squirrel and have a funeral at the next island. Would you like that my dear?â
The air is quite somber as the little girl processes what death is and that she canât run away from it. Her tears come to a stop and suddenly she doesnât feel that sad anymore now that she realizes itâs a part of life. âMmhmm⌠Iâd like that.â She whispers and Sanji smiles at her picking her up and exiting her bedroom. âNow letâs go find a shoebox to put him in until the next island.â

Everybody Knows
Summary: You want to keep it a secret as long as you can, but living on a pirate ship makes that difficult.
Warnings: Pregnancy, mentions of vomiting, slight food aversions, loving husband Sanji (not a warning tbh haha)
Note: Everyone, hi!! I wrote this before I ever finished 'knowing', and I just couldn't help but to share it here now that that's completed! I loved writing this so much, and yes, this is one of the two one-shots that are connected to 'knowing'! I'll post the second next week most likely! This also takes place about four to five years after the end of 'knowing'! I hope you all will enjoy this!!
âSanji, look, look!! Itâs positive!â
âWait. No way, really?!â
Your smiling and giggling while showing off the positive pregnancy test ended up being contagious, Sanji grinning when he saw it as he wrapped you in a tight hug and spun you just a little. He couldnât do it too much after all! Youâd just found you were likely carrying a precious blessing, he didnât want to make you dizzy or sick or anything!
Itâd been nearly four years since your wedding on the Thousand Sunny after the events in Wano, and just about two years since you decided to start trying for a baby, but now! Now you were pregnant! Finally, after what felt like so much longer than it should have been. You hadnât told anyone that you two were even thinking about having a baby, you wanted to keep it as secret as possible, and it taking almost two years to even get to the point of a positive test was definitely keeping it secret.
Honestly, when youâd told him you wanted to try having a baby, Sanji was ecstatic and nervous all at the same time. Of course he wanted to be a dad, heâd thought about it for so long, especially once you two married. But, with the life of a pirate, it couldnât be that safe, could it? Obviously others had done it, Gol D. Roger had kids on his ship, Whitebeard did too, and Big Mom had all her kids (donât remind him of that though, poor man thought heâd never see you again). The world had become moderately safer, people werenât as terrified of pirates anymore, specifically your crew with how much you had helped others.
When you did tell him, you had made sure no one else was around and that it was about bedtime for most of the crew. Youâd stay in the kitchen with Sanji while he finished off the dishes, telling you what he was thinking about cooking the next day for meals most nights, and that was the perfect time. A few of your crewmates came through to wish you both goodnight. Nami had done so early so she could check the map and log pose, making sure you were heading in the right direction. Zoro had the first night shift and had, like always, just requested someone bring him some sake after a while. Brook had chosen to spend some time playing his violin on the deck, Franky was likely in his workshop you thought. Robin came and said goodnight a bit later, saying sheâd be joining Zoro in the crowâs nest for a bit with her latest book. You hadnât been entirely sure about where Jimbei was at first, then heard him on the deck with Brook. Luffy and Usopp had tried to sneak in with Chopper to get a late night snack, making you giggle softly when you saw them come in the door as quietly as they could, before Sanji threw bread at them and chased them out, shouting âthatâs all you get! The kitchen is now closed, goodnight unless you want to work!â
Hearing your giggle made Sanji turn back and smile at you, his lovely wife! He still couldnât believe you two were married some days, just about two years at this point. Before he even started on the dishes, he stopped and gave you a kiss on the top of your head, saying âOnce Iâm done with the dishes we can head to bed, okay?â
âSure!â
You tried to keep your focus on your own book while he worked, but your thoughts kept jumping around. You started one thought and lost it, wondering what it was before it came back, and your face heated up at the thought youâd been having the last few weeks anytime you were alone with your dear husband. Every time youâd try and bring the subject of having a baby up to Sanji, someone would interrupt and youâd back down, nervous theyâd hear and it would spread around the ship before you even started trying.
You just wanted to be a mom on top of being a pirate, nothing more to it. And you knew Sanji would be an amazing father. No matter how his biological father was, Sanji would be different, heâd had Zeff as his chosen father, his real father. You knew he would be okay.
When Brook started to play what sounded like a familiar lullaby from the East Blue, it made you smile. You checked around quickly to make sure the coast was clear, before getting up from your spot at the table and walking over to Sanji, giving him a hug from behind that made him greet you.
âSanji~?â
He hummed a bit while finishing drying another dish, âYes, darling? What can I do for you?â
Smiling just a bit and burying your face in his shirt, you quietly made your request, âI want us to have a baby.â
It was loud enough for him to hear it, nearly causing Sanji to drop the plate in his hand as he choked a bit on his cigarette. Carefully, he set the plate down before turning around and taking your face in his (still damp) hands, trying to make out if you were joking with him or not. All you did in return was smile softly, nothing but love for him in your eyes. Once he realized your smile was sincere and thatâs what you really wanted, he smiled widely and nodded, kissing you all over your face.
âOf course, of course, mon amour!!â he was almost as quiet as you were, he could tell you didnât want anyone else to hear this precious desire yet, âAbsolutely, whatever you want, as many as you want!â
You giggled while he kept kissing your face and you wrapped your arms back around his shoulders. "One would be a good start."
Now, you finally had the positive test youâd been anxiously waiting for. Every other one youâd taken that came up negative frustrated both of you at times, but every time it happened, seeing how upset you were, Sanji would just hug you and say it would happen one day, he just knew it would. Youâd just keep trying and praying and hoping until it did.
And finally it did. The second line on the test was faint, but you could see it. You had a positive test!
After you two had calmed down from your excitement, you decided to keep the news secret for the time being. You wanted either Chopper or a doctor at the next island to confirm that your test wasnât a false positive before you told anyone. The ship was due to land at an island that had a large town on it the next day, so Sanji agreed on taking you to a doctor once you did, under the guise of getting some ingredients to store (of course he did need to do that shopping, but making sure you really were pregnant was top priority). You absolutely trusted Chopper as a doctor, but you knew it was likely word would spread sooner than you wanted it to, so you made the choice to go to a doctor once you docked at the next island instead.
Some of your crewmates picked up on how you two acted through the day, but didnât think too much of it. You guys were sickeningly sweet to each other most of the time anyway, it was gross how lovey-dovey you were (to Zoro anyway). A few times youâd be doing your chores, and someone, namely Robin or Nami, would catch how Sanji, who had been handing drinks and snacks to those who wanted them, would catch you out of the corner of his eye, before quietly watching you for a moment, deciding to go over and offering to take your work off your hands. You just smiled and said he could help if he was that bored and he looked like he wanted to say something, but instead gave a smile and a nod, helping you finish your chores a little faster.
Nami noticed first how weird Sanji was acting towards you. Normally he'd be his regular self, providing her and Robin with drinks and snacks in his normal way, before going over the top to do the same for you. It made sense since you were his wife, but that day he seemedâŚoff? Almost like something had happened to calm him down. His normal acts of treating them like queens were a bit more subdued, and then with you, the one he almost treated like a goddess, he seemed like he'd been hit with a tranquilizer that made him more gentle, soft. It was very odd.
âHmmm, Robin? Do you think those two are beingâŚweird?â
Robin looked up from her book just enough to see Nami watching you two again; you were playing a card game with Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper, while Sanji stayed nearby just watching. This was the most they'd seen him out of the kitchen in a while, it definitely was odd.
âSanji is being a bit more protective of her today.â
âIs [Y/N] sick or something?â
âShe seems normal to me. Maybe sheâs pregnant.â
Nami laughed a little louder than she intended, but it didnât gain yours or Sanjiâs attention. It did gain Luffy's, who looked over wondering what Nami was laughing about before returning his attention to your card game.
âThatâd be something.â
Neither girl dared to ask you about it that day, just in case they were incorrect and said something that could be considered offensive. They didnât even know if you two wanted to have kids in the first place, maybe you just didnât feel well and Sanji was just being the overprotective husband to his sick wife. The last time you'd been sick he barely left your side and got some help with the cooking so he could take care of you.
When it was dinner time, you were very careful to not let anyone notice how the smell of the fish you were having was making you nauseous. When Luffy asked why you weren't having any, you made the excuse of not feeling very well, deciding to forgo the fish to keep from making yourself sick. It wasn't technically a lie, you just made it sound convincing enough that no one questioned you further.
A silly argument broke out about who would get your share since you weren't eating the fish, and it made you laugh along with Nami. Luffy and Brook both wanted it, Usopp said it should be left for the next day because maybe you'd feel up to eating it then, while Chopper tried to ask you what was wrong and you just told him your stomach was a bit upset, he said he'd give you something to help if you wanted.
You really did impress Sanji with how well you were keeping your little secret. If it weren't for your restraint, he'd have told everyone by now, he was sure of it. It was taking everything in him not to pick up a transponder snail and call Zeff to let him know the good news. He knew you'd let him as soon as it was really, truly confirmed, he was just so anxious to tell someone.
Everyone cleared out after dinner minus you and Robin, she decided to stay behind and help with clearing the table, something you normally did to spend some extra time with your husband that he greatly appreciated.
However, this time, Sanji kept trying to make you stop helping.
"[Y/N], please, sit down! Robin and I will take care of the table." Sanji really, really wanted you to sit down and take it easy. If you were pregnant, you needed rest! You might be growing a whole new person inside you! You'd need all the energy you could have over the next few months!
"Sanji, it's ok! I can help."
"[Y/N]," Robin gave you a smile as she looked between you and Sanji, "if you aren't feeling well, I don't mind helping tonight. You should go let Chopper check you though, just to be certain it's not something to be worried about."
You bit the inside of your lip, wanting to tell Robin why Sanji was being so much more protective over you, but you weren't sure if you should. You viewed her like an older sister, and knew that if you did tell her, she'd keep your secret. Robin would take any secret you told her to the grave. Instead, you looked at Sanji with a slightly pleading look that caused him to just know what you were thinking. Sanji gave you a smile and nodded, which made you smile in return.
"Robin, the only reason Sanji is like this right now is because we got a positive pregnancy test this morning."
Honestly, Robin was joking earlier when she made that suggestion to Nami, but hearing you confirm her silly thought actually made her smile even more at you.
"Really? That's wonderful!"
Nodding, you started to almost beg for her silence on the matter.
"We don't want anyone else to know yet, so I haven't gone to Chopper for real confirmation. We're going to go find a doctor on the next island tomorrow to get a blood test done."
"That's a very good idea, to make absolutely sure your test was positive."
Sanji nodded, setting a hand on your shoulder. "SoâŚcould you keep it a secret please? Just until we have it confirmed."
"Of course. Your secret is safe with me."
Robin then joined Sanji even more in telling you to sit and relax, to the point you decided to head to bed with a laugh when Sanji said he didn't mean you had to leave. All you did was kiss him and say you'd see him when he finally came to bed himself.
You took a quick shower, before changing into your pajamas and choosing to lay in bed, hair still a bit wet but you didn't care. You wanted to see that positive pregnancy test again. It still felt surreal to you that it might be happening. You might become a mother in a few months.
The two faint, pink lines were still there, you hadn't been dreaming all day.
Gosh I hope it's not a false positiveâŚ
Eventually Sanji did come to bed with you, after his own shower and with his hair still damp too. You barely even moved when he laid down next to you, setting his hand on your stomach while you kept staring at the test.
"It's so weird."
"Hmm?"
"To think that we might be having a baby. It feels weird, doesn't it?"
He nodded a bit, while you finally laid the test back down on your nightstand and turned to face your dearly loved husband with a smile.
"You might get to be a dad soon."
"And you might get to be a mom soon."
Your giggle never failed to make him smile, even more than he already was. Sanji wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you close to him, hugging you and burying his face in your hair.
"I love youâŚno matter what we find out next, I love you so much."
You returned his hug and sighed happily, content with where you were now. You really hoped and prayed your test was accurate, that soon you'd be parents, you'd have a baby of your own to care for and love as well.
"I love you too, Sanji."
All would be well.
+!+
"All right everyone, I have your allowances for today!"
The normal culprits of bad spending habits cheered or thanked Nami, while you gladly took your decent sum and pocketed it immediately. Of course you wanted to look for some clothes, but you had no idea how much a doctor would charge you for a test, so you hoped the allowance Nami gave to you would be enough for both.
Usually you'd join in on drawing straws to see who stayed on the ship to guard it, but before you even could take one from Usopp, Sanji took your hand and told everyone you had decided you were going with him to get groceries this time. Not a single one of your crewmates questioned it, the rest of them drawing straws and Zoro and Jimbei being the lucky ones to stay on the Sunny. Once everything was settled, the rest of you left the ship and broke off in different directions. You stopped a local and quietly asked her where a doctor or women's clinic was, and she was kind enough to lead you and Sanji there.
After the kind older woman left you, the two of you didn't go inside yet. Your nerves had picked up and Sanji could tell. He felt the same way, you both had the same thought running through heads.
What if it was a false positive? What if all your hopes you'd had over the last 24 hours were about to be dashed and you weren't really going to have a baby?
Despite all the fears and worries, Sanji held your hand just a bit tighter and it brought you out of your thoughts and you looked at him.
"Do you want me to go in with you?"
You thought for a second, then shook your head. "It's ok, I can go. You need to go grocery shopping so we're back on the ship at the meeting time."
Although he really did want to go with you, Sanji nodded and gave you a tight hug, kissing your forehead. "No matter what they say, I love you. You know that right?"
"Of course I do!" You laughed a bit, leaning up to give your sweet husband a kiss. "I love you too, and I know it's all gonna be okay. Meet you here in about an hour?"
Sanji nodded, letting you go but letting his fingers linger on yours as you turned and walked into the clinic. He stayed for a few minutes, before turning to go find the shopping district and get his grocery shopping done by the hour time was up, saying silent prayers that the news you brought back would be good.
+!+
The hour you had agreed on had passed, Sanji was waiting for you outside the clinic nervously. He'd honestly expected you to be outside and waiting for him already, but maybe something was wrong? Did something happen that was keeping you there longer than you expected? He prayed it wasn't something along the lines of you getting your pregnancy confirmed but being told you'd lost the baby already. That would devastate both of you after the time you'd had even just trying to get pregnant.
No, no, don't even think that. Everything is fine.
Every time someone exited the clinic and it wasn't you, Sanji got even more anxious, wishing you'd finally step out. He'd nearly gone through another two cigarettes while waiting, knowing you'd be upset with him over it but he couldn't help it. The nicotine was at least calming his nerves somewhat.
I'll have to apologize to [Y/N] later.
Finally, after another almost twenty minutes, you left the clinic and his nerves calmed a bit more but his heart started racing, wondering what you were going to tell him. You hadn't even looked up from whatever papers you had been given, you were still reading them it looked like. But once you did and saw Sanji was waiting for you, you gave him the brightest smile he thought he'd ever seen from you, even brighter than the one you had when you two got married.
"Sanji!" You ran to him and threw your arms around him, causing him to do the same. He tried to ask you what the doctor said but the words wouldn't come out, but once you pulled back from your hug, you didn't stop smiling. "It was right! We're having a baby!"
Actually hearing you confirm that your pregnancy test was positive made Sanji unbelievably happy. Even though he could feel tears starting, he smiled at you, hugging you again even tighter than before, picking you up and spinning you a bit, and telling you how happy he was. He set you back down and released you from the hug, kissing your face and thanking you for this blessing while you laughed a bit. He didn't need to thank you, not even a little bit. It was your choice and you were glad to be having a baby with him.
After one more kiss, he ended up pulling away from you with a grin, throwing his arms in the air with tears in his eyes.
"I'm gonna be a dad!!!"
+!+
Usopp and Nami were the ones to find out next. The two had been wandering the town when they came up near the clinic Sanji had dropped you off at, not thinking much about it at the time. You had a doctor on the ship, Chopper was the best one possible!
âŚso why was Sanji standing outside this clinic like he was waiting for something?
"What's he doing?"
"Why would I know that?"
The two were obviously confused. Had you gone inside? Were you that sick? Why didn't you tell Chopper or anyone else?? You could have stayed on the ship instead of letting Sanji drag you to town! Granted yes, he was your husband and you didn't seem to mind at all, but still. If you weren't well, you could have stayed behind and rested instead of running through the town in the few hours Nami had given you all to explore. She had just learned it would take two days for the log to reset, so you had plenty of time to explore! Honestly, sometimes Nami thought Sanji of all people could be a touch more considerate when you said you weren't feeling well.
"[Y/N] did say she had an upset stomach last night," Usopp remembered while watching Sanji light a second cigarette, "maybe they didn't want to bother Chopper and brought her here?"
"Oh come on, they have to be hiding something." Nami was trying to think what could be so important that you two would come to a random clinic on this island instead of just going to Chopper, just as you stepped out and ran to hug Sanji. The two of you were full of smiles and excitement, making her tilt her head. "What's going on?" Nami was trying so hard to hear, she was about to just discreetly walk by and eavesdrop.
"I don't know, I can't hear them." Usopp leaned in a little more, still trying to stay hidden.
The two didn't need to wait any longer to know what you two were saying, as Sanji's outburst of shouting that he was going to be a dad told them everything and Nami gasped while Usopp's jaw dropped almost to the ground.
"She's pregnant!!"
"DidâŚdid they plan that?!"
"Who cares, Usopp! There's gonna be a baby on the ship soon!"
The two were conflicted on if they should confront you now or wait until you told everyone, while they were deciding you and Sanji had started walking back towards the farmer's market to finish the grocery shopping, neither Nami or Usopp noticing until she went to shout for the two of you.
"They're gone! Dang it!"
"WellâŚI bet they'll tell us later, Nami."
"If they don't," Nami's berri eyes didn't get past Usopp, "I can try offering them some baby funds, at an interest."
"Nothing gets by you."
+!+
Getting back to the ship, you helped Sanji put away all the groceries (despite him telling, begging you to rest), before putting away the very few clothes you ended up purchasing. After paying for your appointment and the prenatal vitamins they gave you, your allowance was about half gone, but you were able to find a few cute clothes you could wear now and some pieces to put away for later on. It was a bit difficult for you to find some maternity clothing items, but you did find some cute pieces! Even more difficult was keeping those pieces hidden when you were showing the other items to Nami, Robin, and Chopper. You made the excuse that they were more intimate items which flew over Chopper's head but made Nami pull a face while Robin laughed a bit.
Nami did keep pestering you about what you did and how you spent all your money this time, but it wasn't that weird to you, she normally asked if anyone had anything left from what she gave them, and if they wanted her to put it away for the next island stop. You almost, almost told her, but just claimed your clothes were more expensive than expected.
Robin was the only person who you pulled aside and confirmed you were pregnant to. She gave you a hug and congratulated you properly, sitting with you in the room you shared with Sanji to get a little more information from you.
You'd told her that yes, this was planned, about two years later than you had originally hoped. You were nine weeks along, and intending to keep it a secret from everyone else until your first trimester was over just to be safe. The doctor you saw had said everything looked good so far, and it gave you immense relief to hear that.
Your plan was to stay on the ship the next day and tell Chopper so he could start to prepare for whatever he'd need to do to help you through your pregnancy and delivery, but you wanted to wait and tell everyone else once you passed the twelve week mark. Robin said she'd absolutely help as well, she even gave you a few books on pregnancy that you and Sanji could read through.
The rest of the day, Nami and Usopp wondered if you or Sanji were going to say anything about your having a baby. Not one word slipped from either of you, and it was starting to frustrate both of them. At dinner you were able to eat, Sanji quickly catching on that fish was making you nauseous, so he ended up making some meat instead which greatly pleased your captain.
"Sanji!! Seconds!" Luffy whined a bit and Sanji told him to hold on while he got a bit more ready, making Luffy lean over on you, "[Y/N]~~~ can I have some of yours??"
"No, Luffy!" Sanji looked over his shoulder and set a small glare on him, "[Y/N] needs her dinner!"
"But she always shares it with me~!"
"She can't right now!"
"Why not???"
"Because sheâ"
"--I'm starving after being sick yesterday!"
You nodded, eyes slightly wide as you realized Sanji was that close to revealing your pregnancy earlier than planned. He covered his mouth when you shouted over the two, turning back to the stove and cursing at himself.
Almost blew it, holy crap.
"But I want meeeeeaaaaat."
"You can have some vegetables, Luffy."
Luffy made a face and decided it wasn't worth it, he'd wait for more meat to be cooked. Franky was willing to share with him though, which made your captain happy at least. Once you had finished eating, you took your plate to the sink and stopped to give Sanji a hug, he whispered sorry to you, but you just shook your head, leaning up to kiss his cheek.
âNo worries, my dear.â
âYohohoho, you two are so loving even with a baby on the way!â
Everything went silent. Your crewmates all stopped eating, the sound of silverware on plates was quieted as they stopped to stare at you with widened eyes, and both you and Sanji went completely stiff, you started feeling ill.
How the hell did Brook know?! You hadnât told anyone apart from Robin, and were fairly certain Sanji didnât tell anyone after you left him alone earlier to start on dinner. Nami had been a little persistent with you, asking you a lot of questions earlier but you didnât tell her anything, and you didnât know at the time that Zoro had even questioned Sanji about why he wasnât smoking as much. Usopp knew Sanji was close to shouting at Luffy that you were pregnant, and now Chopper realized you feeling nauseous last night made more sense. Robin smiled a bit since she already knew, and Franky hadnât thought to question anything yesterday or today, honestly thinking you were sick and Sanji was just trying to quit smoking. Jimbei had noticed you feeling sick earlier than anyone, but assumed youâd just caught something since you all were constantly out at sea and stopping at various islands, you could have picked up any kind of illness.
Luffy never questioned a thing, but hearing Brookâs statement made him break into a large grin.
âYou guys are having a baby?!â
Your nausea was back, and Sanji could see it in how pale your face was becoming as you, back still turned to the table, tried to figure out whether to confirm, deny, or start asking how Brook knew.
âIâŚâ You felt worse while trying to decide what to say, covering your mouth with your hand.
â[Y/N]? Are youââ
âIâm gonna be sick.â
You pulled away from Sanji and ran out of the kitchen with your hand still over your mouth, making several of your crewmates yell for you, while Robin had run after you. Sanji almost ran after you as well, before realizing he needed an answer from a certain musician first. He set a glare on Brook that made him shudder.
âYou. Who the hell told you that?!â
Brook continued to shudder while everyone else couldnât believe the glare Sanji was giving him.
âT-t-the test was still in the bathroom trash this morning! I-i-it was only n-natural for me to assume!â
âDamn it,â Sanji pulled at his bangs, cursing himself for not suggesting you threw that in the kitchen trash or hid it under your bed until you were ready to tell people, and really wishing he could light a cigarette right then, âFine, all right?! Weâre having a baby! Sheâs nine weeks and we were gonna tell you all once she was past the first trimester, but guess everyone knows now!â
âSanjiââ
âYou guys take care of putting the food away and the dishes, Iâm going to go comfort my pregnant wife!â
Sanji threw down his apron and ran out of the kitchen after you and Robin, causing Nami to shout for him, but she didnât follow him.
Everyone that was left, was completely silent, all mulling over the news that you and Sanji were going to be parents soon.
âS-so,â Brook was still a little shaky after seeing how angry Sanji was, âuh, did anyone else know?â
Nami and Usopp raised their hands, heads down. They only found out by mistake, but both felt awful at your precious secret basically being revealed against your will. Surprising everyone though was Zoro who nodded.
âWait, how did you know Zoro??â
âHe told me earlier.â
âHe what?!â
Rolling his eye a bit, Zoro nodded again while taking a drink of his sake. âI mentioned that he hadnât been smoking and he ended up telling me. I didnât want all that information dumped on me but he seemed like he was anxious to tell someone. I just happened to be the first person he talked to.â
That made more sense than Sanji just deciding Zoro would be the first person he told. It became quiet again, Luffy was thinking and pressing his index finger to his forehead before he finally said something.
âSoâŚwhy did Sanji say they were waiting?â
âWell,â Chopper spoke up, a little shell shocked that he was going to have to take care of a pregnant woman on the ship, but a bit excited about it, âA lot of couples wait until after twelve weeks because the chance of miscarriage is higher before then. Itâs never really zero, but waiting until after the first trimester is common practice, by then theyâre more confident that the baby will make it.â
âOh, I see!â Luffy started laughing after that, a grin on his face that seemed to start spreading to his crewmates as the information sunk in. âTheyâre gonna be awesome parents! I bet itâs a boy!â
âOh no,â Nami shook her head with a small glare, âItâs got to be a girl, we need more girls on this ship!â
âI can make some SUPER toys for them!â
âIâll make sure the baby and [Y/N] are both healthy!â
âWould playing lullabies for the child make up for this?â
âImagine if the cookâs kid wants to be a swordsman.â
âI have some great stories of bravery and adventure to tell them!â
âIâm sure theyâll be great no matter what the child is or what they decide to do in the future.â
The other eight members of your crew continued discussing their own ideas of what your child would be like, working to clean up dinner, when Nami stopped and bit her lip.
âWhatâs wrong, Nami?â Luffy tilted his head at her as she stopped gathering the plates.
âI feel bad that she got sick because of this. We all made [Y/N] so nervous after Brook said they were having a baby. I hope sheâs not too upset.â
âEven if she is,â Zoro had started to leave, but stopped to listen to Namiâs concerns, âthe cook will take care of it. Heâs her husband after all.â
+!+
âCan I get you some water, [Y/N]?â
âThank you, Robin, but Iâm fine at the moment.â You sighed a bit and leaned against your pillows, Robin nodding as she sat beside you on your bed. Youâd completely lost your dinner after you ran off, Robin staying with you to keep your hair back and help you get back to your room until Sanji got there.
He almost burst into your shared room a few minutes later, running over and hugging you close.
âAre you all right, mon amour??â
Nodding, you just hugged him back. âIâm okay. IâmâŚupset, but otherwise just fine.â
"Rightfully so," Sanji nodded, stroking your hair a bit, "We've barely had time to process this and it's already out."
"How didâ"
"The test was still in the bathroom trash can."
Hearing that, you realized it was your fault in the end, for not being more careful about how you disposed of the test. Whining a bit you leaned against Sanji again. "I'm an idiot. I didn't even think about someone seeing it thereâŚ"
"Hey, you're not an idiot. Anyone else would have done the same thing," Sanji leaned down just enough to kiss your forehead which made Robin smile before she took her leave, knowing he would make things right, "it didn't even cross my mind that we should've put it somewhere else."
"I should've tossed it overboard."
"I don't think any of the fish want something that's been peed on, love."
That made you burst out laughing, so hard you almost felt like you were going to be sick again but you knew you weren't. Seeing you smile and laugh made Sanji smile as well, as he crawled into bed by you and pulled you back into his arms. He was glad to see you smiling and laughing after the disaster that had been dinner. You deserved to be happy about having a baby, not stressed because it got out earlier than you had planned.
Once you calmed down, you laid there and stared at the ceiling for a bit, Sanji still holding you and rubbing your arm to help comfort you as you thought.
"I'm not that mad at Brook for bringing it up."
"I'm pissed at him."
"Sanji."
"It wasn't his secret to tell."
You sighed with a nod, turning to be face to face with your equally as upset husband, wrapping your arms around his shoulders. "I knowâŚbut now I don't feel like I have to agonize over how to tell everyone."
"IâŚsuppose that's trueâŚ"
Thinking about the reactions you got from your crewmates, you smiled a little.
"Luffy sounded happy."
"He did, didn't he?"
"He probably thinks this means new crewmate, instead of what is essentially his niece or nephew."
Sanji laughed, nodding. "That's exactly what he thinks, I'm sure of it."
The two of you spent what felt like hours just talking about your day, the insanity of it all. Finding out you really were pregnant, that secret getting out during dinner and making your morning/evening sickness come back, and the likely reactions of your crewmates. You talked until you started dozing off, Sanji quieting his voice when he noticed you were falling asleep. Once you were asleep, he stayed at your side a few minutes longer, before deciding he needed a shower and to check the kitchen before bed.
Before he got up and left, Sanji tucked you in a bit, kissing your forehead with his hand resting on your stomach lightly.
"Sleep well. I love you both so much."
+!+
Breakfast the next morning was weirdly quiet. You'd helped Sanji get everything ready, once again despite him telling you to sit down and relax, to rest since you know, you were growing a whole new person in your womb, you needed as much energy as possible. You just ignored him, smiling and setting the table quickly as everyone else started to file in. Brook had found you earlier in the morning and apologized for the night before, which you accepted with a bright smile, telling him everything was fine.
Sanji still was angry but couldn't find it in him to glare at the skeleton anymore. If you were willing to forgive, Sanji would find a way to do that himself.
During breakfast, Luffy stood up with his drink in hand, making everyone look at him while he grinned. He wanted to toast something obviously, and everyone else raised their drinks to his.
"To Sanji and [Y/N]'s baby! Our future crewmate and niece or nephew! Hopefully nephew though!"
Everyone else laughed and shouted cheers, taking a drink, while you were fighting back tears. You hadn't fully expected all of them to be so accepting of the idea of a baby on board, but what else did you expect?
This ragtag group was your family now, your baby would have no shortage of protectors or joy in their life.
Sanji, the ever attentive husband he was, smiled just a bit seeing the happy tears in your eyes. He leaned over with a kiss to your temple, whispering "It's ok to cry if you're happy."
And you did, just a bit. You thanked Luffy, thanked everyone for being so wonderful and accepting of your baby, who hadn't even been born yet. Most of your crew responded in kind, telling you their thoughts of how they could help when the baby was born, offering to decorate a nursery, asking if you want a boy or girl. Everything they could think of that would help you and Sanji to settle into your roles of mom and dad in a few months. They offered to split up your chores among them, something you asked them not to do until later into your pregnancy. You still wanted some semblance of a routine before you gave birth and had to devote all your time to a tiny human.
Eventually, breakfast had its own little squabble as Luffy snatched the last piece of bacon when Usopp and Franky were reaching for it, a small brawl breaking out. It made Sanji yell for them to be careful around you, leading Franky and Usopp to drag Luffy to the deck to continue their little spat.
You laughed, leaning back in your chair and giving Sanji a smile.
"I love our weird family."
"Hmmm, so do I, mon amour."
All would be well, when you had your baby in a few short months. They would be welcomed with a flurry of love and adoration, not just from you and Sanji, but from everyone else as well.
Can't wait to meet you, little angel.

* I think as time goes on he gets a lot better at understanding why he feels the way he does, and eventually the flirtatious behavior cools down even though heâs still as kind as always because he realizes it comes from a place of craving validation instead of genuine love

* âBut um, I feel a little bad for Luffy.â Itâs more than a little, thereâs an entire waterfall of drool falling past his lips from his spot behind a pillar.
* His fingers curl under your chin, urging you to meet his gaze
* âThereâs nothing to feel bad about, of course I would spoil the most important person in my life.â
* Your cheeks heat up from the words.
* âBut Sanjiââ you look to the pillar seeing seven faces quickly duck, and a hand grab luffys still salivating head. ââtheyâre all staring!â
* If you could die from embarrassment youâd be six feet under
* âLet them stare, itâs because theyâre dazzled by your beauty.â
* âActually itâs because weâre hungry!â Luffy shouts, only to have his mouth covered by Nami.
* Sanji ends up making them a snack.
* His favorite hobby is pretending Chopper is your child when you guys go out
* âWhen are you guys going to stop pretending heâs your baby?â Zoro growls
* You look over at Chopper whoâs happily sitting on Sanjiâs shoulders, munching away on cotton candy
* âWhen he stops pretending to enjoy it,â You respond
* âThatâs never going to happen!â Chopper shouts with a giggle
* Heâs so greedy with you I swear
* You give him a kiss, he gives you back at least five
* You hold his hand, he keeps you glued to his side for the rest of the night

* And if you ever seem homesick or youâre feeling down heâll suspense you with the dish
* âHow did you learn to make this?â Your region is a far ways away from his usual French cuisine
* âI have my secrets.â
* Please cook for this man, just once, make a fancy dinner and have the whole crew pitch in as wait staff
* âYouâre always taking care of us so this time we wanted to serve you!â
* Heâll eat half-burned pasta with tears of joy streaming down his face
* âThis is the best meal Iâve ever had.â
* Heâll fall even harder for you if you have his wanted poster near your bunk bed
* âThereâs a little red stain near my lips thoughââ
* âAh, sometimes when I canât see you at night I give it a little kiss for luck haha.â
* Heâs dead. Sanjis dead.
* Cause of death: love sickness
* He died happy though
* Heâs just such a simp for you man
* Like, take the shirt off his back and lay it over a puddle so you donât get your feet wet, hear youâre craving a certain type of food and make it the next meal, buys you feminine hygiene products from the store with pride (along with some snacks he knows you like, kiss your hands and worship the ground you walk on type of love.

Chaos in Their Bones Ch. 4
Ongoing Series
Synopsis: All your life youâd listened to your friend, Usopp spin wild tales about pirates and adventure. Pirates werenât a thing that came often to Syrup Village, but one straw hat pirate and his crew changed all that the day they arrived. Now, you arenât so sure if your sleepy little village was always pirate-free or if no one had been paying attention. Â
Pairing: Roronoa Zoro x Reader
Genre: friends to lovers, frenemies to lovers, slow burn (I hope yâall like aching) eventual smut
Words: 8.7+
A/N: This chapter is mostly filler from 1.04-1.05. This chapter also, once again has a POV from Zoro. I kept going through my options of what I could do to possibly give these two idiots more alone time and this was the result. The beginning, and introduction, of Sanji begins right at Chapter 5 and I already have too many â¨ideas ⨠that I know what to do with. Also, I did add in Zoro working out. Itâs a brief mention, but I just found it weird he didnât have any of those scenes (probably for damn good reason). As always, thank you guys for all the love and support. I hope you all continue to enjoy this storyđ¤ Much Love, Jenn
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Previous Next
âI donât know, Doc. Youâre starting to look a little pale.â
âAnd green.â
Youâd been hugging the side of this particular railing since youâd sailed out of port. It was your first time ever on a ship and it wasnât going too great. Youâd heard about seasickness and even had sailors come asking for Naanâs Elfroot to chew to stem the tide while they were out at sea. You always thought they were being ridiculous. How bad could it be?Â
Well, if your dry heaving was any indication - pretty bad. Of course, Zoro just had to make it worse.Â
You glanced up from looking at the water that was gently tapping the side of the boat to the growing bane of your existence. One hand was tucked into the pocket of his jeans while the other rested on the hilt of his swords. He looked effortlessly cool as he watched you with - was that a smirk?Â
Heâd changed into a yellow shirt with fine detailing of gray lines running horizontally and vertically, which matched perfectly with his gray pants.Â
Zoro was more of a fashionista than heâd let on.Â
âItâs just the reflection of your hair,â you shot back at him.Â
You could feel the next wave of nausea thrashing around in your stomach and you prayed you could keep it down. You were going to lose more cool points if you hurled again. Zoro squinted over the sun's rays to regard your current state. He must have been able to tell you were 0.2 seconds from hurling because, instead of replying, he simply twirled his finger indicating for you to turn around.Â
You did as he instructed, but made sure to follow it up with a middle finger salute.Â
âMan, you two always like this? You just met.â Usopp asked.Â
Usopp tried doing the dotting friend routine by patting you a few times, awkwardly, on your back. It felt more like he was trying to get a burp out of you than soothe you.Â
âItâs because they like each other.â
Nami pranced out of the galley and chose violence. It only took both you and Zoro to register her words before you both shouted:Â
âI donât like her.â
âI hate him!â
Nami wrapped her arms around herself as she looked you both over. A devious smile tilting the edges of her mouth and you had to look away before it turned into the shit eating grin youâd come to expect.Â
âIâm sure you both do,â she teased.Â
You wanted to prove to her that you meant it. Zoro would be the last person you would say you liked, like- like that. The man was literally the biggest pain in the ass youâd ever met.Â
âUsopp,â you croaked, âcan you get my bag, please.â
âIâm on it, Doc.â
At the sound of his feet hitting the deck, a groan of discomfort resonated in your chest. How could anyone think that sailing was fun? This felt like the absolute worst.Â
When you first entered the Going Merry you couldnât believe how beautiful it was. Youâd heard Usopp tell you stories since he cleaned it everyday. It was as finely crafted as heâd described, and the white ashwood against the walnut was a stark contrast but complemented each other beautifully. There wasnât another ship like the Going Merry and a one-of-a-kind ship should belong to someone as extraordinary as Luffy.
The minute youâd cast off into the giant blue youâd almost panicked. What if this was a mistake? Youâd never been out in open water before nor had you ever left Syrup village. This could either be one of the greatest adventures of your life or a disaster. The only thing that kept you from flinging yourself over the side and swimming back was when youâd walked the stern and the glint of the sun shone down on the water.Â
The sunâs rays illuminated the water like light reflecting off a crystal glass. One minute it was the deepest blue. The color was solid enough that your reflection was easy to see and in a matter of seconds after a ray of light touched its water, it took on a cornflower hue that made the water translucent.Â
Youâd been able to admire it for all of three seconds before you were embarrassing yourself over the port bow.Â
âIâm back, Doc,â Usopp spoke softly as he placed a soft hand on your shoulder. He lightly tapped the bag against your hands to try and coax you to grab it. âDo you need me to get you water or anything?â
âWater is not going to help. Itâll make it worse.âÂ
You thought he was trying just to be his usual monotoned âHi, Iâm Zoro and I could care less,â self, but when you finally peeled your forehead off your forearm and looked at him he wasnât even looking at either of you. He was curled up, like a lazy cat, against a couple of crates with his eyes closed and faced tilted towards the sun. With his hands infamously stuffed inside his pockets.Â
âIt would?â
You nodded your head only once in recognition before you started searching through your bag. Your hands started scrambling inside it a soft, âNo,no,â building into a frenzy before you stopped searching.
âIâm guessing your magic little root isnât in there.â
Zoro was still sitting without a care while you felt like you wanted to throw yourself overboard.Â
âNo. It isnât.â
Mental note: Ask Luffy to stop at Irkhaven Isle to get supplies.Â
Suddenly, Zoro stood in one graceful motion and walked off towards the galley.Â
Ass.Â
You turned back to the Going Merryâs railing and held on tight. Your stomach felt like youâd swallowed glass and got punched, it was so empty. Another groan was building in your chest when a cold bottle touched the back of your arm.Â
The coolness to your skin sent a yelp of surprise from you, and sent you whirling to the presence beside you. Zoro was leaning back against the railing, looking as calm as ever, with a beer extended out between you.Â
âIsnât it a little bit too early to be drinking?âÂ
He rolled his eyes as he switched positions. He was now mimicking your current position against the rail but looked effortless and was still holding that damn beer out to you.Â
âItâs for you.â
âFor me? Zoro, I donât think now is the time to be drinking-â
âJust drink it,â he growled, an obvious annoyance replacing his earlier calm.Â
What hell, what was a beer going to do? At most, it would at least give your stomach something to actually throw up instead of dry heaving yourself into a six pack.Â
You reached out and took it from him. Zoro continued to watch you as you placed the bottle to your lips, waiting for you to take a sip.Â
âCould I get some privacy here?â
Zoro rolled his eyes but did as you asked looking off into the southside of the ship. You took that moment to take a long pull from the bottle. Surprisingly, it was damn good beer. You waited for the bitter aftertaste to kick in, but found it replaced with the tang of citrus. You immediately took another drink and another. It wasnât until you were halfway to the middle of the bottle that you noticed the ship had been rocked a few times by the waves and yetâŚ
You went to turn your attention back to Zoro and found him already staring at you.Â
I am not blushing.Â
You turned quickly to look back out at the ocean with both arms leaning over the railing as you took in the picturesque view. You couldnât believe beer was making your sea sickness disappear. Out of your peripherals you waited for him to turn away from you. Unable to say it to his face as you played with the label that was peeling off from condensation.Â
Alcohol. It was brilliant. You were sure your body was still feeling sick, but the depressant in the beer wasnât allowing those receptors to acknowledge it. Tilting the bottle at him you asked, âHowâd you know this would work.âÂ
âItâs how I survived all my boat trips. Old guy Iâd met aboard my first ship when I was seventeen taught me that trick.âÂ
âIs that why you have so much booze? Cause you have a weak stomach?âÂ
Your question came off worse than you intended. You genuinely werenât trying to insult him. Heâd just helped you. Zoro has helped you.Â
âNo. I just like to drink.âÂ
His tone was void of all emotion. The little bit heâd given you quickly washed away and you wanted to kick yourself.Â
Foot meet mouth. Mouth meets foot.Â
You werenât very good at this. The only friend youâd ever actually had was Usopp. The both of you know the tone of the other and every secret in between. Youâd tried to make friends with the other kids in town, but holding up a frog as a friendship gift didnât seem to go over too well. And on that wonderful trip down memory laneâŚ
You straightened up and took a smaller sip from the beer before you leaned down to pick up your abandoned satchel.Â
âThank you, Zoro.â
The both of you stared at the other until the silence was washed out by the squawking of seagulls and the rush of water. Even now in this weird game of chicken, you knew you would be the first to give. His dark eyes staring straight through you until you felt exposed. You tipped the bottle for good measure and turned on your heel to make your way inside the safety of the kitchen. Your hand clutching the bottle close as your brain tried to make sense of what happened.Â
Zoro helped you. He didnât have too and for all intents and purposes you were surprised he didnât just let you suffer, but heâd chosen not to. What did that even mean? He was just being friendly. It didnât mean anything more than that.Â
Instead of dwelling on the question, you sat down in the corner booth and took another pull from the bottle.Â
ââââââ-
After you finished your first bottle, you found another, and another until youâd ended up blissfully passed out in the booth. You were vaguely aware that Luffy and the crew had come into the galley at some point. The sound of Usopp and Luffy struggling to talk over the other was what forced you out of your nap.
âWe all know who the Captain is.â
âItâs me.â
Two voices rang out as one with each ending in a high-pitch of surprise. It was his first day and already Usopp was trying to stir up mutiny on the ship. If you werenât interested in staying unconscious you were positive you wouldâve smiled.Â
âJust call me Captain Usopp.â
âWe already know Iâm the Captain.â
It didnât surprise you they were still giving out declarations of who was Captain. You waited for it to become a campaign, like when Townsfolk ran for Mayor, but the sound of Namiâs laughter followed by - was that Zoro?! - ended both menâs rant.Â
âSee, this is what itâs all about,â Luffyâs voice chimed in. âFrom now itâs going to be smooth sailing.â
He was his usual happy sounding self. You were willing to bet it was infectious, making everyoneâs earlier laughter remain in the small creases by their eyes and the raise of their lips. Luffy was indeed a Captain and one of the best kind.Â
Enjoying the moment abruptly ended, however, when you caught the sound of a whistle outside. It grew more intense by the second. Whatever it was, was slicing through the air with a force that was audible. You werenât sure why it took so long for your brain to register that it wasnât a natural sound. It was rectified, however, when something violently slammed into the Going Merry and sent everything trembling.Â
Your back immediately shot up off the cushion of the booth. Eyes open wide as you stumble to your feet watching Nami and Zoro do the same.Â
âWhat in the hell was that?â
âLuffy opening his damn mouth,â Nami replied as you followed behind her.Â
You were wondering how Luffyâs mouth could have anything to do with the current sounds coming from outside. Your response died in your throat the minute you got out onto the deck. You followed them to the stern of the ship and finally saw what was waiting for you all was a very large, very metal, Marine vessel trailing behind you.Â
All the blood drained from your body and whatever buzz youâd had left over from earlier was now completely gone.Â
âItâs the marines! Weâre under attack!âÂ
Nami rushed to the wheel to begin to try evasive maneuvers to get you all out of the way of the oncoming cannonballs. Another shot rang out from the marine vessel and you waited to be struck by steaming metal and found yourself vaguely relieved when it crashed into the ocean a few feet from you.Â
âHow did they find us?â
âDoes it matter? Theyâre trying to blow us out of the water!â
What the hell were you supposed to do?Â
What in the hell could anyone do against being shot at by cannons and a marine vessel that was gaining on your small ship by the second. You could see three figures standing at the bow of the ship, eerily watching as if waiting for something - or someone - to appear.Â
Luffy grabbed the telescope and peered through the lens. You all waited for him to give an order and what he said next surprised everyone.Â
âGrandpa?â
âGrandpa!â
âDid you just call that guy grandpa?â Zoro asked, his eyes carefully watching Luffy as he glanced through the telescope back at the ship.Â
He didnât answer right away. The sound of another shot being fired made all of you space out from one another. You could feel the tension singing through your nerves. The adrenaline was demanding you to move or do something else besides just hopelessly stand like a damn target. The fight or flight in you erupted to life with one key thought hoarding every inch of clarity besides one: run.Â
This time when the cannon came crashing down it came right at the edge of the stern. An eruption of water covering you in a fine mist of water. You didnât get a chance to decide on what to do when another shot rang out.Â
âHit the deck!âÂ
Usoppâs scream was frantic enough you didnât ask why, and did as he instructed and became one with the wood. Seconds later, the sound of speeding metal whizzed by you and smashed into the railing behind sending wood fragments everywhere.Â
You couldnât stop the scream that tore its way from your lips as your body curled in on itself.Â
What the hell did I sign up for?Â
You could hear the sounds of feet clumsily finding their footing again as everyone began to get up. You wanted to stay where you were, but the sharp sound of Zoro calling you a coward resonated inside your chest.Â
You could do this. You could totally hundred-percent do this.Â
It was your turn to begin to get up from your place on the stern deck, and just as you moved to your knees someone offered their hand for you to take. Color you shocked when you looked up to find that hand was attached to Zoro. You must have been staring too long because he looked away, hand still out, and grumbled, âYou going to keep staring at it or take it?â
Yup, and there was the Zoro youâd grown to know and loathe.
âIt just burns you up inside to be so helpful, doesnât it?â
Your voice oozed with sarcasm as you took his hand - maybe a bit too aggressively - and started to get up. Zoro saw your passive-aggressive hand smack and did you one better. He pulled you quickly to your feet, but that quickness came at the cost of your balance. Your feet couldnât catch their footing back on the deck and you ended haphazardly colliding into his chest.Â
As fast as it happened, it was equally as fast that you both dislocated yourselves from each other.
âIs everybody okay?â
âI think so.âÂ
âNo. Not okay. Not even close to okay.â
âI second, Usopp,â you said.Â
You werenât sure why you raised your hand. It couldâve been you just really needed them to know that no - no, this was definitely not okay.Â
Luffy took your concerns with a grain of salt, however, and ran over to the cannon - the only cannon - on deck. Youâd only just meet him, but Luffy didnât strike you as someone who held onto any ill will. So, you were surprised to see the determination burn in his eyes and the scowl to cross his face.Â
What did your grandpa do to you?Â
If you werenât mortally in danger of drowning at any minute or being shredded in half by a cannonball, you might have asked.Â
âUsopp! Fire back at them!â
âOr how about we sail away as fast as we can?â
âI like that idea, actually,â you chimed in, a hand scratching the back of your neck. âThatâs a solid plan if I ever heard one, Usopp.â
âRun from the marines?âÂ
Luffy looked between the three of you. He couldnât believe that Usopp, Nami, and you were apparently so quick to not want to put up much of a fight. You did enjoy not being a sea decoration.Â
âNo. Never! Nami trim theâŚsail thing. Letâs sink their ship!â
âWait, what? Are you crazy?â
You had to back up to stand next to Zoro as Luffy waved for Usopp to join him on the stern. The two of them grabbed a hold of the cannon to bring it towards an opening in the back.Â
âLetâs sink their ship.âÂ
âLuffy, we donât have time for this!â Nami interjected, but Luffy wasnât listening. âTheyâre going to come up alongside us! If they do, we are finished.â
âOur odds keep sounding better and better,â you mumbled as you made your way over to Nami.Â
âYou are our Navigator. Do something.âÂ
Nami let out a groan before her whole demeanor changed. No longer was she trying to flee or get Luffy to see reason. Suddenly, she turned to Zoro and ordered him to go down and pull the sheet in. He didnât waste a second before he brushed past you and down the stairs.Â
You waited for her to order you to do something, anything, but she must have known it wouldâve been like explaining math to a baby. You didnât even know what sheâd even just asked Zoro to do. Apparently, neither did he.Â
âWhich way is port?âÂ
A heavy sigh left her as she shouted back, âItâs the left!â
âHave you ever loaded a cannon before?â
âYeah, yeah Iâve loaded tons of them,â Usopp replied coolly.
You had to give Usopp props. He was literally the master of bullshit and could keep a straight face even though you both knew the only thing he loaded was his imagination.Â
âThis is just a different model Iâve never seen before.â
âUsopp, you load the cannon in the barrel. Light it and then get the hell out of the way!â
Following Namiâs directions, Usopp rushed forward towards the barrel. You thought he was going to make it when the ball slipped out of his hand and landed with a heavy thud on the deck. You rushed forward to grab it before it rolled down the stairs, but didnât notice Usopp rushing to join you in the hunt. What neither of you failed to notice was that the vibration from dropping the cannonball dislodged the others.Â
In a split second, you and Usopp collided into one another and when you stepped back to stand up your heel caught a ball. You had barely enough seconds to lean yourself forward as you slipped down the stairs, taking each stair with a thud just like the cannonballs.Â
Your knees slammed into the edge of one of the stairs, but the balls under your hips kept you slipping. You tried bending your knees to slow your descent only to have them successfully bump every step on the way down.Â
âOh shit, Doc are you okay?â Usopp shouted down after you.Â
âIâm fantastic,â you grunted as you came to a stop before the last steps.Â
You werenât trying to remove yourself from the stairs. You could feel the pain in your knees growing with each passing second. You were willing to bet when you stood up, that dull throb that was beginning to resonate under your skin would shoot out like lightning the minute you stood up. Unfortunately, youâd forgotten who was at the bottom of the stairs with you.Â
âAre you going to get up anytime soon or do you enjoy just laying there?âÂ
You were ready to tell Zoro where he could shove his swords when a gruff voice youâd never heard cut over the chaos.Â
âPirate vessel, by order of the marines, lower your sails and submit to my authority.â
You were willing to bet a million berries if that man wasnât Luffyâs grandpa that wouldnât even be an offer on any table. Ever. The sound of Zoroâs boots coming closer caused you to peel yourself up just enough before he - did he really just step over you?Â
âOh, you asshole,â you seethed.Â
You scrambled to your feet to chase after him when you noticed another cannonball headed straight for the Merry. But where was the sound of the gunpowder? What felt even more unbelievable was what came after.Â
Sure, Luffy told you heâd eaten a Devil fruit. Heâd told you his body was made of rubber but seeing was believing. You watched as Luffy began to inhale air and his body blew up like aâŚballoon. Luffy was becoming an actual balloon of skin until the cannonball landed in the center of his stomach. He took the entire impact and flung it back at the marine vessel. One minute, you could hear the return fire whistling through the air. The next, you watched as the crowâs nest above the mast exploded and seconds later it came crashing down.Â
Everything grew silent aboard the Merry as you all registered what youâd just witnessed. You were still staring at Luffy and back to the now very much on fire marine ship when Usoppâs surprised laughter cut through the silence.Â
âThat was amazing! You just saved us!â
âYou didnât tell me you could do that.â
You could feel your own smile slide across your face as the adrenaline began to bleed away. The aftershocks of the thrill of battle - no matter how unsuccessful - left you feeling ready to do it all again. Or take a nap.Â
You were joining in on the laughter as you looked back at Nami, and at Usopp who was jumping in excitement with Luffy. You looked over at Zoro and found your earlier excitement drained from your body. Sure, youâd seen him smirk and look like the grumpy cat who ate the canary, but youâd never seen him smile.Â
Sometime during the battle the wind had tussled up his hair making him appear like heâd just woken from a nap. It made him softer, less broody, and the grin that lit up his face actually reached his eyes and scrunched his nose.Â
It was safer in the village.Â
You wanted to say the thought was because of what had just happened. Even as Luffy ordered Nami to get you out of the area, you knew it wasnât because of the danger. Hell, as much as it was a mess of a first battle, the adrenaline of it all was demanding for a release. Maybe youâd be able to use that as an excuse for why your heart was beating so wildly as you watch Zoro run a hand through his hair.Â
The ship suddenly felt too constricting. It didnât allow enough space between you and the swordsman who resided on this ship. You tried to shake your head clear of all those thoughts and turned to run after Luffy. You called his name as you carefully took the stairs down after him.Â
âSomething wrong, Doc?â
âNo, no,â you waved him off. âI just - I wanted to ask a favor.â
âYou can ask me for anything.â
You werenât sure if you would ever get over how genuine Luffy was. Every word he said to you he meant it. You could probably tell him you needed the sun, and whether physically attainable or not, you knew Luffy would try his absolute best to bring it to you.Â
Because Luffy was just that kind of Captain.Â
âWould it be a bother if we stopped at an island? Iâm in need of some supplies.â
âââââââ
Luffy didnât hesitate to say yes to your request to stop at Irkhaven. It only took you all of four seconds to explain what it was, where it was, and why you needed to go before he sent you to Nami to give her the coordinates. While youâd never physically gone with Naan to harvest the ingredients youâd grown up using, she made sure to tell you often how to get there.Â
Just in case the day came she couldnât.Â
What you hadnât expected as you walked through fields of lavender was to have Zoro trailing behind you.Â
âHow much longer are we going to be out here?â
âUntil I have enough of everything to last us a while,â you called over your shoulder.Â
You didnât need to look behind you to know Zoro was shooting daggers into the back of your skull. While he hadnât been happy being volunteered to go with you onto the island, he hadnât argued with Luffy either.Â
You stopped midway out of the lavender fields and took out your small knife to begin cutting gently through the stems. After you had a good enough bundle, you sheathed the knife back in its place on your satchel where you reached inside to grab a pre-cut piece of string.Â
You could still feel Zoro watching you, as you tied the lavender together in a tight bundle.Â
âI wasnât aware picking flowers was life-saving medicine.âÂ
This time you did look over at him. Zoro, the strong and proud pirate hunter. The demon, Luffy said was his nickname. Looking at Zoro now, even in an endless field of lavender, he resonated power. You held no doubt he had earned such an intimidating name through grit and blood-soaked swords.Â
He looked out of place next to you in a place meant for healing and you couldnât help but wonder if it was more what he projected than who he was. While Luffy told you happily about the scary parts of Zoro (which Luffy by no means actually saw as scary) heâd also mentioned Zoro never went without a specific sword.
Remembering Luffyâs words, your eyes quickly darted down to the white-sheathed katana. If you had to put money on it, that was the one that held a deeper meaning to him. It was the one he clutched the tightest and his hand fell on absentmindedly.Â
Once you knew the bundle was secure, you playfully poked it in his direction.Â
âIt does heal. It calms the mind and spirit. It creates restful sleep.â
âIt stinks.âÂ
âYou are absolutely impossible,â you grumbled, your eyes rolling as you turned away from him.Â
You placed the bundle inside your satchel and started forward. You didnât need to look back to know that Zoro would be behind you. This time you were leading him towards an eyeline of trees youâd spotted a few feet back. They looked promising to hold green chiretta.Â
âSo, why did Luffy send you with me?â
You came out first from the field and onto a path that was being taken over by the vegetation.Â
âBecause you donât know how to protect yourself.â
âI can too.â
âA pot doesnât count.â
You spun on your heels, satchel swinging, and caught it with your forearm just before it swung into your hip. You were pleased to see the unexpected action had caught him by surprise. Not the typical surprise that Usopp, or others, gave where it might be exaggerated or a gasp and step back. No, Zoroâs was the briefest flinch in the corner of his eyes. Blink and you wouldâve missed it.Â
âHey, that pot kicked ass.â
âYou got lucky.â
âOkay, Mosshead, then what do you call this?â
You lightly tapped your cheek to indicate the very noticeable bruise that was just beginning to fade from his left cheek.Â
âI call that luck.â
You let out a huff as you turned and faced forward. Leading him towards where you needed to go and reminding yourself that you needed to focus on the task at hand. Not Zoro.Â
âYou carry a knife with you but you donât use it.â
He stated it as a fact. Not a question. Zoro already knew that it wasnât used for self-defense.Â
âI use it to treat and clean infected wounds and forage for ingredients.â
âBut not for self-defense.â
You found yourself whirling on him again and this time he was prepared. His hand resting on the edge of his sword and hand infamously tucked inside his pocket.Â
âIâm a doctor, Zoro. I follow Naanâs oath to never do harm to anyone-â
âAnd what if to help someone - yourself - it meant that you had to take a life to save theirs?â
Heâd taken a step towards you. His whole body radiated with an intensity you hadnât been prepared for. You could feel your muscles straining to stay in place; to not retreat. Zoro had closed what space youâd had between the two of you until all heâd left were a few measly inches.Â
âI try not to let it come to that.â
âYou donât always get to decide like that, it's not how the world works. You keep thinking like that and youâre going to be a liability.â
Your eyes narrowed in on him and you felt yourself get on your tippy toes without thinking. Your index finger pressed into his stupidly hard chest as you looked up at him.Â
âIt is not a liability to give a shit about people, Zoro. To care about who they are with their own wants and dreams. What makes someone a liability is not knowing who is worth that effort and who isnât.âÂ
You dropped back down onto your heels and turned to stomp your way into the trees. What did he know? So, you werenât exactly a swordsman or incredibly stretchy, and while Usopp wasnât necessarily the bravest man on the planet he was a damn fine shot. Nami could kick ass and was the best navigator. What did you bring to the table?Â
No. You wouldnât let him make you think that way.Â
You hadnât realized youâd gone farther than intended into the forest of trees until you noticed not only the green chiterra growing all over the sides of them, but also what looked like gold cap mushrooms. One that you knew to be poisonous.Â
You put it in the back of your mind. You werenât here to get things to harm people. That wasnât who you were and you wouldnât let this newfound journey, or anyone, change that. You unsheathed your knife from your satchel and started carefully scraping off the moss from the bark of the tree.Â
âI could train you.â
Those four words stopped you mid-scrap. It had been roughly a few minutes - only a few - since youâd both been silent. You expected the rest of your time out here collecting ingredients to go relatively dull with you both pouting in your respective corners. Out of everything you couldâve expected, those four words were most definitely not it.Â
âHuh?â
God, you really needed to get it together.Â
Zoro grunted out a, âFuck me,â before he gave you his full attention.Â
âI said I could train you. If you want.â
Was it possible that Zoro, the demon pirate hunter, was nervous? You couldnât believe it, and for that exact reason you didnât think twice about it. However, you couldnât pass up the chance to tease him. Just a little.Â
âDid Roronoa Zoro - the demon pirate hunter - just offer to teach me how to kick ass?â
This whole entire trip was turning into one unexpected thing after another. The last thing you wouldâve thought you would earn from your teasing was a grimace, maybe a smirk if you were lucky. Instead, your words generated an actual smile from the demon himself and you were devastated.Â
âI thought you said you never heard of me?â
Oh, right. He was talking and he needed you to word back. Right. You could do that.Â
âLuffy,â your voice cracked on your captain's name and you pretended to cough to clear your throat. âLuffy was telling me about the first time you guys met. It was truly a riveting moment.âÂ
âOkay, letâs back up,â you began, your fingers motioning like a wheel. Youâd been sitting with Luffy at the table eating breakfast. What had come over you to ask about how he met Zoro was still currently pending investigation. Luckily for you, Luffy wasnât going to question you on why you wanted to know. âDid you just say you met him tied up inside the marine yard?â âHeâd given himself up. Never told me exactly why heâd done that actually.â Luffy was perplexed for all of a millisecond before he sank his teeth back into the dry meat in his hand. âOh, well Iâm sure he was happy you let him down.â âActually, he told me to get lost.â Yup, you were choking on a piece of toast. Luffy just stated it like it was useless information. Not that his first mate didnât tell him to essentially fuck off during their first meeting. âHe told you to get lost?â âYeah, he did.â âSo, why did you even bother staying there? You couldâve just left.â A smile began to grow on his lips. It wasnât his usual radiant one that could rival the sun, but a thoughtful one. It told you the memory of meeting Zoro meant something special to Luffy, and it made you regard the interaction a little less harshly. âI couldnât just leave him there. Not when he has a dream to fulfill.â While you were still debating on whether Luffy was a real person, there wasnât any denying that he searched for the good in people. Whatever it was heâd seen in Zoro told Luffy he was a good guy. âSo,â you drawled out the o, âhe told you to get lost and for some reason your brain heard those words as, âfollow your dreamsâ.â âHe isnât a bad guy, Doc. I know Zoro is more than just a pirate hunter with a scary nickname. He is someone with a dream, just like you, and Iâm going to make sure he reaches it.â
Looking at Zoro now, you could see what Luffy saw in him. Sure, he was quick to anger and even more quick to say shit without thinking it through, but who wasnât at times? You had experienced first hand the good that lived inside of him.Â
Heâd helped you when he didnât have to when you were sick. He shared a part of himself, a small part but still a part, to see who he was underneath all the attitude. While you werenât in the business of hurting anyone, you debated on whether letting him train you would at least make you useful enough to save other members of your crew - maybe Zoro - if something came up.Â
You did hit someone with a pot and punch Zoro in his face. What could learning a few moves going to do?Â
âAlright, demon pirate hunter, Iâll consider it.â
âââââââââ
He wanted to throttle Luffy.Â
The way you kept looking at him - saying his nickname - was stirring something foreign in his chest. He may not know exactly what it was but he didnât have too. His body was telling him plainly he should take back his invitation to spend more time alone with you. You were only going to get in the way of his goal.Â
All of those made sense why he should retract his invitation and head back to the Merry. And yetâŚ
âIf it pumps up your ego, Iâll say it as many times as you like. For a price.âÂ
You wiggled your eyebrows at him and it was so unexpected Zoro wanted to laugh. His offer to help train you had been in the back of his mind, but when he went to offer it, itâd gone rougher than heâd intended. He hadnât meant to make you feel bad - to call you a liability. It wasnât that he thought you would be an actual liability for Luffy.Â
You were a liability for him.Â
The way you were looking at him now, the smile on your face, gave him all the warning he needed to know you were a dangerous wildcard. Heâd made a promise to Kuina and you felt like the one thing that could keep him from it.Â
Whatever the feelings you were stirring in him were something he needed to be wary of. Zoro wasnât going to have any of it. He made a promise a long time ago and he wasnât going to let you or anyone else get in the way of him keeping it.Â
He was so lost in thought that he wasnât aware youâd gotten so close. It wasnât until your fingers slid over his ear, placing something behind it, that he was jolted back into the present.Â
âOh, shit Iâm sorry. I didnât mean to freak you out.â
Your voice was breathy and sweet with your wide eyes looking up at him with something dangerously close to reverence. Close like at the dinner table. Close like when heâd tumbled out of the well and landed on top of you. Zoro still had the way your body felt under him burned into his memory. One heâd tried to erase with the bottles of liquor that now sat empty inside his room.Â
His hand moved up to feel what youâd placed behind his ear, and his fingertips were greeted by the soft give of flowers.Â
âDid you seriously just put flowers in my hair?â
Your response was maddening. Zoro watched as you brought your hands up to join your shrug, as if he wasnât standing there, flowers now pinched between his fingers.Â
âI think you look cute.â
Cute.Â
âYeah. Thatâs not me.â
In a show that it wasnât him, that you and your stupid flower giving were just another nuisance, he opened his fingers and let them fall to the ground. Zoro watched as your eyes that had been brimming with sunshine were darkened by clouds of sadness. Even your earlier giddy step was replaced by slouched shoulders that suddenly looked as if the world weighed heavily on them.Â
âOkay.â
Your reply was meek. If he wasnât straining to hear it he wouldâve missed it. You didnât give him another glance or yell at him for being an ass. That was what he had expected; what he was still waiting for. Zoro had known you for a couple of days and within that time came to learn you were the most maddening person heâd ever met - second to Luffy. This? He didnât like this. He liked it better when you fought back. When you told him what an asshole he was and when you touched him without thinking.Â
Zoro watched as you went back to gently maneuvering your knife under the bark; skilled hands that removed pieces of that weird-looking fungus. You pulled an empty glass from your bag and, with the same gentleness, pushed it past the lip of the bottle to hold it inside.Â
Cute.Â
Thatâs what sheâd called him.Â
I am not cute. Iâm the demon pirate hunter, Roronoa Zoro.Â
He could feel his jaw flexing at the thought. Cute. Zoro has been called many things in his life, but cute was never one of them. His hand clenched and unclenched on the Wado Ichimonji as if asking - begging - what he should do.Â
He couldnât stay here much longer. Zoro didnât know what to say and you obviously had no intention of speaking to him anytime soon.Â
âFuck this,â he whispered as he stalked off back out of the trees.Â
He made it to the edge of the clearing where the sun fully broke free from the shade of leaves when you called to him.Â
âTry not to get lost, Zoro. We both know youâve got shit directional
skills.âÂ
He refused to admit he was happy to hear you say something. Even if that something was your usual shit-talking. Zoro grunted as a reply and quickly went back to walking out of the clearing when something - small and pure white - caught his eye out of his peripherals.Â
It was huddled against the bark of a tree. Its petals were open and stark against the darkness. It took him a moment to recognize those white petals. What he found amusing was how the flower always seemed to be carrying its own weight on its shoulders; the neck of it dropping down like itâd just received devastating news. Zoro didnât know why he gently plucked it from its resting spot. He couldnât explain why after that he turned to head back in your direction.Â
Zoro was trying to get away from you and here he was bringing a fucking flower back. You turned at his approach, your mouth already forming over some word. You never spoke what it was you wanted to say and you didnât seem like you wanted to try either.Â
Zoro placed the snowdrop behind your ear. Perfectly placing it to where the hanging bulb hugged the top of your ear to hang against your hair.Â
âYou left to go find flowers?â
Zoro shook his head. He stepped back just enough to see how it looked. He was a dumbass for doing this.Â
âNo, I was going to head back to the ship-â
âFigures-â
âWhen I saw this snowdrop by itself,â Zoro continued over you. âIt made me think of you.â
âThat feels oddly specific.â
He didnât like how you were looking at him. More accurately, he didnât like how you looking at him was making him feel.Â
âItâs a snowdrop. Theyâre one of the most delicate flowers in the world.â
There it was. The darkening of those previous clouds now cracked to life with the spark of your anger. Zoro had to admit, he enjoyed getting you all riled up. What he wouldnât tell you, is because they only grew at certain times and usually in the snow, it made them one of the most resilient flowers because they could grow under any conditions.Â
âAre you calling me delicate?â
A huff left him as his eyes rolled up into the treeline.Â
âI was trying to apologize earlier.â
âOh.â
Youâd started all that storm building just to deflate but also-Â
âYou sure have a way with words,â he teased.Â
âMy bedside manner is not the best, Iâll admit. I once told a dying man a joke about a pirate and marine having an entanglement. Naan said it probably wasnât the most appropriate time.â
For some reason, Zoro could picture it. A man dying and you, being your nervous self, trying to make him laugh to ease his passing. The thought of it alone made a smile curl at his lips, and he tried to gently shake it away. To look at anything else but you.Â
âWhat do I gotta do to hear one of these world-famous Doc jokes?â
He waited until his face was neutral to look back at you. Both hands rested on his swords as he watched you fill the bottle to the brim and place it securely inside your satchel.Â
âFor that kind of service? You have to be dying.â
âYouâre a real pain in the ass, you know that?â
You were a pain in the ass. A pain in his ass. From the moment he met you until now and probably would continue to be. A pain that made him think of things outside of his goal. You made him think past his promise. Who was he if he didnât keep it? He shouldâve never offered to train you or willingly spend more time with you. He was going to have to take it back. It didnât matter if it hurt your feelings or made you hate him. Maybe thatâs what he needed to do to make you hate him-
âWhat are you doing?â
Zoro prayed that his face was devoid of any emotion. The panic that bloomed in his chest didnât spread to where you could see. Youâd placed your hand over your chest in a way Zoro knew too well.Â
âI,â it was the first time Zoro ever heard your full name. âPromise to be the biggest pain in your - Roronoa Zoroâs ass - from now until whenever.â
For the second time, his hand was clutching onto the Wado Ichimonji today. While you spoke, Zoro could swear he saw flashes of Kuina standing behind you. The look of disappointment growing on her face.Â
âYou made a promise.â
Zoro couldnât bring himself to speak. He couldnât trust what he would say. So, he simply turned back on his heel and made a beeline back for the edge of the trees. This time when he reached it he didnât stop. He had to get back to the safety of the ship where he could barricade himself from you behind wooden doors and booze because Zoro could really use a drink.
ââââââââ-
It has been two days inside the fog. Two days of Zoro avoiding you like you carried the plague back with you from Irkhaven.Â
When youâd made that promise it was only meant to be good fun. You replayed over in your mind to see if youâd said something wrong - done something wrong to warrant the sudden extreme cold shoulder.Â
Besides the time youâd been with Nami and Usopp, all of you shared thoughts about the naval battle that had happened and, who could forget, his very real vice-admiral of a grandpa. Who could launch cannonballs like paperweights. After that, Zoro didnât come around you or close to you.
Sure, you would see him when he lounged on the deck napping like a cat in open spots. Hell, if Zoro wasnât sleeping he was either drinking or training. Youâd catch glimpses of him on the upper deck lifting weights with his arms and, sometimes, his mouth.Â
The first time you saw him lifting eighty pounds with his teeth, you had about a thousand questions racing through your mind. If you thought he would answer you if you spoke, you might have asked him.Â
You werenât sure why it bothered you so much. It shouldnât have even mattered whether he talked to you or not, but heâd offered to train you. Why bother asking to do something that required his time if he wasnât willing to give it? These sorts of questions had been your own personal plague since heâd begun to give you the cold shoulder.Â
Youâd been sitting with your legs hanging out of the side of where the cannonball had blown an unfortunate hole through the Merryâs railing. It killed you to see her so broken; her intricate leafling design ruined all because of what felt like a family spat. Letting out a sigh, you pulled your legs out from over the side with a hand holding onto the rail so you didnât fall into the sea.Â
Once you were securely standing without fear of going overboard, you wrapped the leather cord that secured the pages of your journal around it. You were just finishing up tucking it in when Usopp began to shout, âI see something.âÂ
How anyone could see anything in this mess was beyond you, but then again Luffy was at the front of the Merry using his nose to guide you guys out of the fog soâŚyeah. Stranger things could and did happen.Â
It was enough to garner your attention and bring you walking up to join the rest of the crew that had assembled.Â
âI see nothing,â you stated.Â
âI donât know how anyone could see anything in this soup,â Nami agreed as she stirred the ship in the direction Luffy called.Â
âYou guys donât see the red lights? How can you not see them?â
âBecause, Usopp, I don't have eyes like an Eagle.â
You could feel the happiness your comment brought him as he continued to point in the direction of said light.
âJust keep your eyes posted right here in the center and youâll see it, Doc.Â
â3 degrees starboard, Nami and keep it straight.â
âI really wish you wouldnât sit up there Luffy,â you called up to where he sat, legs wide, on the Merryâs headpiece. âWhat happens if you slip?â
âYou're his crew mate. Not his mother. He doesnât need you coddling him.â
You turned to find Zoro standing a few feet behind Usopp. He wasnât looking at you but heâd just spoken to you. His first words in two days and it didnât surprise you in the least they were his usual asshole tone.Â
âOh, so he can speak. What a shocker.âÂ
Zoro side-eyed you but still refused to acknowledge your presence. The soft bruise that was there two days ago at Irkhaven was all but a faded memory. You were tempted to make it a fresh one.Â
âOkay you two letâs focus on-â Usopp stopped mid-sentence as his eyes scanned over something in the distance. âWhatâs a baratie?â
You looked where he was and finally saw it. Red neon was bleeding its way into the fog. It was enough to make you forget about Zoro, your lack of clean clothes, or what had happened the last couple of days. It was land. You were finally going to actually put your feet down on something solid that wasnât just the Merry.Â
Nami stirred the Merry in and easily parked it at the next available dock. Immediately, people rushed out to begin tying the ship's ropes to posts to secure it in place.Â
âIs it just me or does this look like a restaurant?âÂ
You meant your question to be open-ended. To allow anyone to answer in case what you were seeing was in fact a floating restaurant in the middle of the ocean. However, you were leaning against the rail next to Nami, with whom you pressed arm and arm.Â
âI think it is.â
You were all still staring over the railing when Luffy asked excitedly, âDo you guys know what this means?â
âWe stock up on supplies and keep going so the marines canât find us?â
âWe head back to Syrup village where itâs safe?â
âNo - letâs go eat!â
You felt the blood drain from your face. You didnât have much in the way of something to wear at an establishment like this. You were willing to bet you couldnât just walk in wearing - or smelling - like you all did. You were getting ready to tell Luffy youâd hang back on the ship when you felt a hand gently wrap itself in yours.Â
Glancing down at your interwoven hands and back up, you found Nami, her lips together in a soft smile, as she gave you a light tug to follow her.Â
âCome on. You can borrow some of my clothes.â
You let out a raspberry, your hand squeezing hers briefly in relief.Â
âNami, you are a lifesaver.â
âThat fish better have a bar.â
You werenât going to say it out loud, but you agreed with Zoro. You were going to need the blissful ignorance of alcohol to make it through a dinner where you possibly ended up sitting next to him.Â

Luffy Finally realizes he Loves you!
Pure teeth rotting fluff
Buy me a Ko-Fi
⢠Was sitting with his crew and talking all about thinks in their past that they enjoyed and brings you up.
⢠"Oh yeah! Then my best friend (Y/N)! They are back at the village I grew up in and they always supported me! Even gave me the food and boat I uses to leave to start this amazing adventure!"
⢠He talks about your cooking, how you'd always pack him a lunch. How you smile so much and make sure he was okay, especially when him and his grandfather argued.
⢠Sanji and the rest of the crew raise an eyebrow at hearing Luffy babble on and on about you
⢠"Wow, They sound amazing. Gotta meet then one day" Sanji jokes, taking another drag of his cigarette. "They sound like a real beauty"
⢠Luffy couldn't help but get a very odd feeling st hearing Sanji call then a beauty. Like he got punched but on the inside this time-
⢠"Yeah, They are pretty I guess. But I like how nice they are, They and Shanks showed me what good people are truly like!"
⢠Nami giggled at this. She knew attraction like the back of her hand and the way Luffy described you, this was the closest she had ever heard of him even understanding attraction to anyone.
"Luffy, It sounds like you're in love with them?" Nami teased.
⢠"What! No no they are just.. Wonderful-" He pauses, Thinking over Nami's words. He had always cared about you- a lot! And always having a picture of you being by his side when he became pirate king anyway. You were just always ment to be there, and if it hadn't been for you taking care of your mother he was sure you would have come Sailing with him.
⢠Usopp laughing also at this as he could practically see the gears starting to turn in his head. "This is golden!" He hollered. Earning Nami smacking the back of his head. "....Am I in love with (Y/N)?..." Luffy pondered- Zoro who had been 'sleeping' against the wall but heard the whole conversation opened a single eye
⢠"From the sounds of it.. Yes-" Zoro deadpanned, Deciding to return to his nap. Luffy face turning a red color before he gave a loud laugh. Practically bouncing in his seat "If that's the case! Set sail for Foodha Village! I gotta go get (Y/N)!"
⢠You would be working at your mother's little supply shop, Assisting in restocking some important supplies when you hear a ruckus outside as everyone starts shouting in glee. Stepping out you see a massive ship either a rams head on the front-
⢠Marveking at it for only a moment before hearing a loud voice that was all to familiar "(YYYY/NNNNN)!!!!"
⢠Looking to see Luffy, brightly smiling on the ship with a small crew next to him. You couldn't help but smile widely at seeing your childhood friend and crush. Waving at him proudly
⢠"(Y/N)!! I gotta tell you something!!" Luffy yelled, Not even waiting for the ship to fully dock before he stretched his way to the docks and ran towards you. Much to your horror as he could have fallen into the water
⢠"L-Luffy you should have waited to do-" However where cut off as Luffy lofted you up with ease and laughed proudly
⢠"IM IN LOVE WITH YOU (Y/N)!! BECOME A PART OF MY CREW!!"

Saved Again-Sanji x Fem Reader (One Piece Netflix)
Summary: You've been Luffy's friend for years. Being the first member to join Luffy's crew, together they are off to become pirates,.later on a certain chef has his eyes on you. And a fond memory of you and a boy after a shipwreck comes to mind when arriving at the Baratie.
(A/N: I'm so excited for the One Piece live action do I decided to write this!! I'll start on a Part 2 once the series is released. I absolutely love Sanji and he's my favorite of the Straw Hats. I relate to him a lot too since I was training to become a chef as wellâŚanyways the one shot might be slightly changed once I watch the series.)
(A/N: Oh and also the reader is often confused as a boy but Nami and Sanji know she's a girl.)
"That's why I'm gonna be king of the pirates!!" Luffy exclaimed enthusiastically, even though we were in the middle of nowhere.
I turned around and frowned looking at him being too cheery and loud as usual. "Can you be any louder?' I glare before pulling my head out of the small boat we were in and I continued to throw up out into the ocean.
I heard a hum coming from Luffy and saw him tilting his head a bit. "Are you sure you're okay?"
This is the downside of wanting to become a pirate and sail across the Grand Line. Well, not many people get sea sick and start to pour their guts out.
I wipe the sweat off my forehead and sighed. "If only Coby didn't accept in becoming a Marine. He would've maybe given me some of the medicine he was carrying."
"He did offer some yet you said you'd be alright without it." Luffy reminds me making me groan.
"Don't make me throw up on you." I warn.
"Will you two shut up already?" I glared and looked back at the green haired man who I forgot had joined us.
"Huh? Why don't you make me, Zoro? Our friend here might be dying." Luffy said patting my back a bit too rough.
Zoro looked at us with a bored expression on his face and went back to closing his eyes. "You guys are insufferable, would've been nicer if I was still tied up."
I point and glared at him. "You should be thankful that we saved your ass."
"Luffy was the one who did. You're too weak to save anyone anyway, kid."
"I'm not a kid! I'm older than you think believe it or not!!" I shout getting defensive and forgetting that I had be throwing up.
"Then why are you acting like a kid?!"
"Guys will you stop arguing for once?" Luffy said stepping between us and calming Zoro as well when we saw an island up ahead.
Idiots are they really dumb and don't know I am secretly a girl. The reason why I like to crossdress if for fun, but mostly because I've seen the way pirates who are men are more respected.
I once had cut my hair short but decided to let it grow and use a wig instead, besides being in disguise had helped me with stealing from people.
Luffy with his devil fruit power stretched all the way until his feet hit the sand and he looked around in enthusiasm.
"Wow this island seems so cool! But why is it so quiet?!" He asked loudly.
"Maybe this is an island inhabited with ghosts." I muttered and heard Zoro scoff and began to grab his swords when the boat hit the sand below us.
Zoro jumped off of the boat and began to follow Luffy. "Hey, (Y/N). Are you coming or staying?"
I raised my head and tilted my head looking at Luffy. "You guys can go on ahead. I'll catch up with you."
He nodded and I saw both guys beginning to walk further into the island. Slowly I got up on my feet and jumped out of the boat as well. I was deep in my thoughts imagining what it will be like to travel across the world and get to know other famous pirates.
Luffy's dream has always been to become king of the pirates and his number 1 person he's always looked up to was Shanks, maybe Gold D. Roger in second place.
As for me..I really don't have a dream. I've just been following Luffy around. I don't have a family. Shanks was the one who raised me along with Luffy, I came along later in the picture and don't have any memories of my past, only a few glimpses here and there but maybe it's just me reliving someone else's dream.
"So he's also a devil fruit user?"
I stopped walking and ran to hide behind a building and I looked over and saw a group of pirates, my eyes were set on the one between all of them. Buggy the clown. I've seen his Wanted poster.. wait!
My eyes widened and then I glared when I spotted Luffy in a cage. Are you serious?! He got caught..huh? I looked and saw someone else with them too, a red headed girl.
Where is Zoro anyways?
I frowned even more when I saw he and Luffy were caught. God damn it. It's up to me now, now all I gotta do is find out if this girl is an enemy of ally.
I got out of my hiding place and prepared to face the gang of pirate clownsâŚ
"Hang on!!"
Someone shouted and tried to reach for my hands but I was pulled away by the harsh tides of the sea. My eyes and lungs began to sting, I felt like it was the end for me. Just a few minutes ago I was with my family, are they dead? Will I die as well and meet them again?
I couldn't swim so I felt myself sinking lower into the dark cold sea. I wanted to cry but couldn't and right when I was ready accept my death I felt someone grab onto me and I was being pulled up again.
I gasped along with the person who had saved me. A man about the same age as my dad saved me, I continued to gasp and began to cough up the salty water I had in my lungs.
The sky was dark with clouds covering the sky, it was heavily raining with thunder.
"Don't die just yet kid! Hold onto this." The man exclaimed.
The man could swim with ease and he had placed me on top of a wooden piece of what I assumed was part of the ship that had exploded. I looked to my right and saw a boy my age, with blonde hair and green eyes, his eyes seemed scared as well.
Are we the only survivors?
My answer was clear the more we got away from the shipwreck and landed on an island. The man easily picked us up and placed us on his shoulder, but the more he continued to walk the more I felt he was struggling, it wasn't until we made it inside a cave that I realized he lost his leg.
I was about to comment on it but didn't when the man seemed angry at something. The boy and I exchanged looks and didn't say a word, we only saw the man lighting up a small fire place as we continued to hear thunder and lightning.
I don't know who this man is, this boy surely isn't his sonâŚmom..dadâŚmy eyes began to sting and I began to cry out loudly with tears running down my face along with a runny nose.
The man didn't say anything and the little boy seemed to stiffen and I saw a few tears forming in his eyes as well and he began to silently cryâŚ
By the next morning the man, the pirate who saved us said he wanted to be alone so he left the boy and I a large bag of food. "We refuse to eat this because you're a pirate and pirates are bad people!!" The boy had shouted earlier.
The man said almost nothing and left me alone with the boy. The boy and I looked at each other and we both didn't say a word about the man.
"Umm do you think we can make a boat somehow and leave the island?" I quietly asked nervous and shy to ask this stranger for help.
"Does it look like we have a way out of this island?! The boy shouted glaring at me. "What would a girl know about sailing anyways?"
I began to cry again and I did the first thing that came to my mind, and I had punched him. "All I want is to see my parents again!"
The boy seemed surprised by my action and began to hold onto his swollen cheek. "H-hey don't cry. You're gonna make me cry again!"
It was too late. He was crying againâŚ.
It had been many days until the three of us were rescued. An odd boat with some friendly men were the one who saved us, the man who rescued the boys and us took the boy in as his own in a way, and he was about to send me off to live a normal life with someone who was willing to raise me.
The man somehow got a nice dress for me to wear, as a last send-off he had done a dessert for me. A strawberry cake I came to love at first bite.
He along with the men on the ship all were outside ready to say their goodbyes to me. I even saw a man or two begin to cry.
"I always wanted a small girl."
"You can't even feed yourself properly how are you supposed to raise a kid." I heard one of them say to another.
"You ready, kid?" I heard the man ask making me turn to look at him. I shook my head and the man sighed and patted my head once. "You'll soon understand why I'm sending you off. You'll have a proper life."
My eyes wandered over to the man and over to the small boy I was saved with. The boy stiffened when I looked at him, and I saw his pale cheeks turn to a pink color.
"I-IâŚ" I didn't know exactly what to say, that's until he spoke up.
"I d-do hope you enjoyed the cake I made with help! Next time if we meet again I'll bake you a whole lot more..alsoâŚif we meet again I'll make you my wife!!" He exclaimed.
The men behind the boy groaned and one of them lightly hit his head. "That's no way of a send-off!"
I shyly smiled at all of them and the boyâŚ.
"Usopp!! Nami!! Are we there yet?!"
"How many times do we have to say, no!!"
I squinted my eyes when I opened them. "That was a strange dream." I muttered to myself and glared at the three who woke me up.
Few days have gone by since he fought Buggy and his crew along with a few more pirates. Usopp was the new crew member. He's a bit odd and a scaredy cat but he means well. If it wasn't for him. Luffy wouldn't have his new and proper ship, officially presenting himself as a pirate.
The sailing ship was huge and fitted with us do well. Luffy named it the Going Merry. A fitting name for a ship.
I looked to my left and saw Zoro fast asleep, I felt envious that he could sleep through this much talking and noise. I made sure my wig was still in place and I got up to join Nami up front. At least it's nice to have another girl around.
"SoâŚyou don't have trouble with sharing a room filled with guys?" I asked and saw Nami giving me an odd bur serious look.
"No?" She squinted her eyes looking at me and looked back at the tides.
WeirdâŚIt's a shame I can't talk about girl things with her.
Luffy said he was searching for the last member to our team. Luffy is Captain, we have a navigator..well kinda that being Nami, the main fighter being Zoro, Usopp as the sniper and I fix anything on the ship
Since none of us are cooks. Luffy suggested on finding a chef. I offered to be the one to fill everyone's stomach, but everything I cook always ends up burnt.
The rest of us began to get things done on the ship until a fight began with another ship and the Going Merry crashed into a ship. My mouth fell open when we crashed and accidently directed a cannon ball into the ship that wasn't even attacking us.
"CrapâŚLuffy!" I shouted and saw him smiling shamefully.
All of us walked closer to the deck and saw the great damage the other ship received. "We better head in there and talk to the person in charge. And you are going to apologize." I said grabbing onto Luffy's straw hat and he quickly grabbed it back and placed it on his head.
He said nothing and began to follow us. We got onto the other ship and read the ships name, The Baratie.
I looked around and this seemed familiar. "You okay?" Nami stopped and asked glancing back at me.
"Yeah.. everything's fine." I said still looking around and ran over to her side and began to follow the rest of the crew.
We all entered the ship and wow was it beautiful and extremely fancy. "Wow..this is something else. It doesn't feel like we're in the middle of the sea." I said in awe and stared around.
Everything looked so expensive. I saw people around sharing their meals and couples smiling at each other and drinking fancy wine. Not to mention the smell, I wonder how the food must taste!
I was practically drooling when I saw a huge meal in a table. Nami had grabbed the back of my clothes and dragged me away from a couple who was staring at me weirded out.
"Get a hold of yourself, (Y/N)." Nami muttered and went to sit down on an empty table.
I nodded at myself then went back to checking the place out. This seems so familiarâŚI started to walk around and peeked over and saw many chefs cooking the meals and they seemed to make it so easy.
"I have an order for a large plate of seafood rice, potato pallie and medium sized bowl of sea pork soup. I need it done in less than 10 minutes!" My mouth began to water even more.
"All have it done in 5." Someone said on the other side with a British accent.
"(Y/N)!" Someone hissed my name and I quickly went over to sit next to Nami and Zoro. Luffy came in as well while we sat down and patiently waited to talk to someone.
I had excused myself after waiting for a bit and went to the bathroom. When I returned I saw Nami still sitting down and she raised an eyebrow looking not pleased when a man began walking towards her.
I felt my heart race when I saw a tall figure standing just a few inches away from her. A handsome man with blonde hair with one of his eyes being a bit hidden by it. He was wearing a dark suit with a blue and white striped shirt under it with a black tie and matching dress pants.
"Would the lady like something sweet?" I saw a smirk spread across his face and Nami just stared at him and rolled her eyes.
Who is he?? And does he know Nami? The man was clearly flirting with her.
"You gotta be joking." I heard Nami ssy. She then turned to look at me.
I didn't know what to do or say. I simply stared at her confused then looked to see the man look at me, he glanced for a second then once again and was now looking directly at me. He immediately walked away from Nami and began to walk towards me.
I began to take a few steps back and I gasped when he took hold of my hand with both of his hands and saw him get down on one knee.
"You are the most gorgeous being I've laid my eyes on. A sight no other I've come across in the Grand Line.."
Thank goodness Nami couldn't listen but it was quiet clear to anyone that this man was flirting with me.
"Y-You've got it all wrong!" I said trying to pull back and felt my cheeks turning red. I can't let anyone know at the moment that I was crossdressing as a guy!!
"I'm never wrong. My eyes never fail when I see a beautiful lady as yourself."
If I weren't in this situation I would be falling on my knees. He's so cute and handsome! My lips began to quiver and I felt my entire body freeze. I've never met a man who shameless at flirting with a stranger.
The man rose up to his feet now towering me and smiling down at me. "I-IâŚ"
He smiled and Introduced himself. "My name is Sanji."

When The Straw Hats Fall In Love... (One Piece Request)
Pairings: Luffy x Reader, Zoro x Reader, Sanji x Reader, Nami x Reader, Usopp x Reader
Monkey D. Luffy
- When Monkey falls in love he's not even sure he can put his finger quite on what's happening to him. All he knows is that he likes it. A lot.
- Luffy gets excited when any new pirate joins his crew, his constant ability to see the best in people never ceasing to amaze the rest, but when you first set foot aboard the Merry it's better than he could have ever imagined.
- When you're around he feels a new level of confidence, like he's two steps closer to achieving his dream and everything is working out for him just how it's supposed to be. He wakes up every morning and practically bounces out of bed at the thought of seeing your smile and sharing his thoughts from the night before with you.
- He loves all his friends, but with you he feels a thousand feet tall, stomach bubbling up in excitement, no matter how much he's eaten. He's always bothering Nami at her desk trying to find cute islands to stop off at along the way, just in case that would make you smile and his life would feel complete once again.
- It would be Nami too that first helped Monkey realise just what he's feeling. The first time he skipped a meal to keep you company on your watch she'd realise this is more than just the usual Luffy charms. She'd be surprisingly thoughtful as she sat him down and talked him through what his feelings might mean, and if he thought it was at all possible he might like you more than a friend. What she wasn't expecting was for him to cheer at the top of his lungs, drawing the attention of the whole crew as he climbs aboard the table and screams for all to hear 'I'M IN LOVE!"
- Naturally the first thing he has to do is find you. He doesn't worry about if you don't feel the same way, because honestly that wouldn't make this feeling any less sweet, and if someone loved him this way, he'd definitely want to know. You'd be pulled from whatever you were concentrating on with a quick rap of knuckles against the door frame before Luffy charged in anyway, limbs flying everywhere as his feet skid to a halt just in front of you.
"Hey (y/n)! Nami just helped me realise I'm in love with you! Isn't that great?!" It's hard not to be taken aback by this, but with his big smile beaming at you, the young man practically vibrating with excitement at just the presence of his love, your heart quickly follows suit. Before you've even finished telling him that you feel the same his arms around wrapped tightly around you, pulling you into a hug of fierce adoration that he plans to repeat at least 100 times a day.
- Prepare yourself for; Surprise hugs and kisses when you least expect them, Luffy clinging to you every night without fail, afternoons spent on the ship's figurehead while he shouts echoing compliments to the oceans, midnight feasts, island adventures passed hand in hand, being told you are one of his new dreams, and unwavering support and loyalty.
Zoro
- Zoro knows exactly what that uncomfortable aching deep in his chest is, he just wasn't expecting to find it so distracting.
- Your voice calling his name echoes through his mind as he tries to practice his sword training, stirring enough that he finds himself glancing over his shoulder periodically just to ensure you haven't snuck up behind him, probably to check on him in that soft, selfless way you often do.
- Your face is the last thing that flashes before his eyes whenever he's in the throes of a sword fight, an extra consideration in how hard he has to fight to survive, to make sure he always makes it home safe to you. He'll never admit it but after a particularly dangerous day he'll often be found sleeping against the wall beside your cabin door. He finds he can't sleep sometimes unless he knows you're safe, and he'd never be so bold as to invite himself in.
- Your laughter always manages to bring a smile to his face, so much so that he envies Sanji's ability to make witless retorts that always manage to draw that sweet sound out of you. He asks Usopp to teach him a few jokes, but quickly leaves that lesson when he realises all these 'jokes' are just long stories of his so-called bravery.
- Zoro finds when he lays down to sleep, you are all he can dream of. The times you spoke that day, the way you looked as you shared a meal with the others, the efforts you put in to keep the crew safe and well. It floods his chest with warmth as you dance through his thoughts, spurring him to try and find even more excuses to be close to you the following day. To have a few extra moments by your side to help him drift off again.
- Zoro may think he's a stoic man of mystery, but after the first time he falls asleep leaning against your doorframe you start to get an idea of the depth of his feelings. You watch him warm to you and you alone, chasing your company every chance he can take it, and keeping a watchful eye over you whenever the situation turns dangerous. So after one of your more dangerous adventures, you listen out for the tell tale clanging of his swords as he sets up his camp outside your door, and finally you pull it open just a touch, enough for your words to escape without the swordsman having to face you.
"I always feel safer with you near Zoro, but why don't you come in so you can rest a bit more comfortably too?" You listen to the heavy pause your invitation leaves in the air until finally the door pushes slightly more open, and Zoro steps into your cabin, more bashful than you've ever seen him. As you take him gently by the hand and lead him to the untucked edge of your bed, you can feel your own heart swell with anticipation, the threshold of your door crossed and an invisible boundary broken down along with it.
- Prepare yourself for; furtive smiles thrown your way when no-one else is looking, a firm hand on yours whenever you two have to leave the ship, nights passed in peaceful quiet with Zoro's head resting on your lap, Zoro never far away when you're going about your day, grumpy grunts whenever Sanji flirts with you, and quiet confessions of the depths of his love when all is dark and still.
Nami
- Nami is furious. She's spent so much time and work putting up walls and barriers to keep her heart safe. To keep herself undistracted. To make sure she's a lone wolf that can look after number one when she needs to. And you hopped over every wall of her fortress with a simple hello and a trusting smile.
- Nami's the type to be in denial at first. She can't get lost in your beauty if she barely makes eye contact with you. She can't hang on your every word if you two hardly talk. She can't be in love with you if she convinces herself that she can't stand you, and keeps herself busy and out of your way.
- Unfortunately for her, absence only makes the heart grow fonder, and all of her efforts to change her mind only leave her craving your company even more. When she relents and sits next to you for the next cabin meal she feels a surge of guilt at her avoidance when you offer her the widest smile and say you're so happy to see her after she's been so busy. You were worried she wasn't looking after herself so you make sure Sanji gives her the biggest bowl before Luffy can come and claim it. At that point Nami knows there's no use fighting her feelings for the one person she can trust to look after her and her heart, even if she's spent most of her life convincing herself she doesn't need that. Her hand slides slowly across the bench until her little finger brushes against yours, the brief contact enough to light a spark in you both.
"I'll be around a lot more now."
- Prepare yourself for; Late night confessions under the stars, sitting with your legs intertwined as she works on maps, Nami always taking the seat next to yours and giving a death glare if one of the boys gets there first, evenings passed in small town bars learning card games and scooting your seats ever closer to each other, arms wrapping around your waist whenever you're working on something that requires your full attention, and being the safest place for one another in a chaotic pirate life.
Sanji
- Sanji has felt the aching touch of affection before, the ever flirty chef finding himself distracted by the beauty of many passing women, but from the minute he lays eyes on you, he knows he's never felt like this.
- He wants to flirt with you the way he's been practicing for years, but he finds whenever you smile up at him he gets short on breath and can only stare helplessly at you while you fill in the awkward silence. It takes him weeks of desperate longing before he can even hold a conversation with you, the sly smile plastered on his face more sincere than he would ever let on.
- He makes all your favourite foods, as often as he can get away with, putting in extra care and attention to the plate he plans to give to you. Every time you hum happily and praise his work, he feels weightless and euphoric, grateful for the hours spent honing his craft for the opportunity to impress you.
- It becomes a running joke amongst the crew that you're the only person Sanji won't flirt with, the behaviour all the more obvious by how red he turns whenever Zoro points it out to him, taking the chance to do an awful impression of Sanji flirting with you and coming out with lines Sanji views as completely unworthy of your ears. The truth is there's nothing he could say to make you love him with the unwavering depth that he loves you, no words that could capture the sheer wonder of your essence, the light that shines on him with every moment spent in your presence.
- You decide to take mercy on the chef one morning, waking before the rest of the crew and joining Sanji in the kitchen while he prepares to make everyone breakfast. He thinks about making a heartfelt comment about 'to what does he owe the pleasure of your company' or 'how it's unfair to visit him so early as it means his day will have already peaked' but he can't find the combination of words you deserve to hear so instead he just beams and says good morning, eyes devoted following your movements as you settle onto the kitchen counter beside where he's working.
"Sanji, why don't you flirt with me?" The question has hung in the air unspoken a dozen nights before, but today it's fired directly at him, sending his pulse racing as his mouth seems to seal shut of its own accord. He puts down the bowl he was intently stirring and approaches you instead, carefully tiptoeing the so obvious line between you.
"Well when I flirt with everyone else it's just harmless fun. It doesn't mean anything."
"And what would it mean with me?" He should have seen your follow up coming, the knowing look in your eyes spurring him to finally voice the affections that have plagued him for weeks.
"Everything." He watches open mouthed as your fingers run down the length of his tie before capturing the end, pulling him slowly towards your grinning lips and finally letting him find his confidence again.
- Prepare yourself for; breakfast in bed that quickly descends into heated kisses, being lifted onto the kitchen counter so Sanji can periodically stop by to kiss you while he cooks, cakes with soppy sentiment iced on top left outside your door throughout the day, unwavering physical affection regardless of whose around, a litany of sweet nicknames muttering directly into your ear as he nuzzles into your neck, and your lips being the sweetest thing the chef has ever tasted.
Usopp
- Usopp is no stranger to the feelings of love, having already stilled his heart once for a love that couldn't be, he finds himself once again falling head over heels when you enter his life.
- A man of outlandish tales and dramatic exploits, the first hint that you might be someone special to him is the fact that when he's alone with you he only wants to tell the truth. No dramatics, no exageration, when he's with you Usopp just wants to tell you everything that he's ever experienced exactly as it happened. He needs you to know the truth about his life, he needs you to see the real him, he needs you to look at him for exactly who he is, so you can decide if that's an Usopp you can love.
- He often offers to make you a warm tea before bed, when the ship is quiet and he can steal a moment of privacy, so the two of you can stare out the small rounded windows in your cabins and just let your thoughts and feelings spill out like water bubbling too close to the surface. He finds himself enthralled with your reactions to his tales, the kindness you offer him when he speaks of his mother, the genuine praise to even his minor accomplishments, and the shared joy when you two recount you time with Luffy.
- When he ends your talks, when you're both struggling to keep your eyes open and threatening to drift off in each other's arms and he finally gets up the resolve to excuse himself so you can rest, he always ends them by telling you that you're the only person who knows that story. You think he's just making you feel special, that he's known for sharing these glimpses into his past, but the truth is that you ARE special and only you have ever heard this side of Usopp before.
- Usopp speaks so honestly and so freely around you that he finds himself having to hold back describing his feelings for you most nights. He hates that that's the one thing he's yet to be honest about, but he knows that with every passing night, his confession only becomes more inevitable. What he doesn't expect is you leaning across the small bench you two are curled up on and placing a soft kiss on his cheek at the end of one night, and telling him you hope he will always share his stories with you. The beaming smile on his face as he promises he'll keep telling you stories forever, leaning back in for a kiss of his own, reveals as much as his words do.
- Prepare yourself for; Usopp dancing with you at inopportune moments, you being the greatest source of his strength and bravery, hunting through markets for little matching accessories, lying on the beach together whenever an island's weather allows, never keeping any secrets, and the arms of the bravest pirate boyfriend constantly wrapping around your waist.

Little details in fanfiction that I always appreciate when authors add (shout out to One Piece authors!)
Feel free to add more in the comments/reblog! Will be updating!
1. Usopp having a different hair texture/wearing protective styles.
2. Different languages. The different seas have all different languages with dialects from specific islands (bonus points for Zoroâs island teaching him a Wano language while he also knows Eastern).
3. The crews hands being calloused. Sanji, Zoro, Franky, Usopp, and Nami would naturally have callouses from doing their interests. Luffy, Robin, Jimbei would have them from the various hard lives that theyâve led.
4. The crew having scars. Zoroâs arms would have cuts from learning how to properly swing a sword, Sanjiâs would similarly be from learning how to use different knives, Luffyâs never carried if he gets a little torn up and he lived in the woodsâŚheâs gotta have a ton of little scratches here and there, etc.
5. Brook knowing about older things when he was alive OR
6. Giving him a backstory before he joined the Rumbar Pirates.
7. Robin knowing sign language. With her fruit it would be perfect.
8. Nami and Usopp sending letters to Vivi and Kaya. (Really just any of the crewmates keeping their loved ones consistently updated).
9. Usopp having depression or a diagnosed anxiety disorder.
10. Trauma or PTSD. Come onâŚthey all would have their âlittle thingsâ (Zoro sleeping by the stairs âjust in caseâ, Sanji having some kind of eating problem, Luffy having nightmares about Marineford, etc.)
11. Goth family.
12. Zoro and Luffy having a thing. Maybe itâs not them dating specifically, but everyone else in the stories just being like, âbut itâs Zoro and LuffyâŚitâs different between Zoro and Luffyâ
13. The crew talking about their dead loved ones (I especially love when Nami, Usopp, and Sanji talk about their moms).
14. Creating an interesting backstory behind Zoroâs missing parents AND
15. Creating a truly hilarious three stooges-esque situation for Zoroâs scared up eye during the time skip.
16. Robin runs a book club/tea time with Sanji and Brook.
17. Sanji knows how to walk/run/fight in heels.
18. Chopper wants to hold his crewmates hands while they walk (or full on get carried by them).
New Additions:
19. Sanji doing all the cleaning and laundry.
*20. Chopper and Sanji being nutritional powerhouses!
*21. Zoro taking naps because he does the night shift protecting his crew.
*22. Sanji having insomnia or some kind of sleep issue.
*23. Luffy being super physically affectionate with his crewmate (hanging off of them, cuddling at bedtime, zero personal space, etc.)
*24. Nami being good with kids.
25. Sanji having Steel-toed boots.
*Numbers 20-24 are brought to you by @c0ckonfettii thanks so much! Lovely suggestions!

I canât get the idea of Killer having a crush on a Straw Hat out of my head. What do you think would actually make him act on it? Or I guess how would he? (Pretending he actually would) đđ¤ thank you in advance
DESCRIPTION: Youâre a member of the Strawhats and he has a crush on you
WARNINGS:Â some minor story spoilers but other than that, none
CHARACTERS: Killer
WORDS: 695
A/N:Â Thank you for the request. This was my first time writing for Killer and I don't know where I was going with this but hopefully you like what I came up with for this
*REQUESTS ARE OPEN*
MASTERLIST
âââââââ
When the Kid pirates first started making a name for themselves, they became interested in the other rookie rivals that they would be sharing the spotlight with. Naturally the likes of Law, Luffy and Zoro stood out the most to Killer as the ones to keep an eye on. Then the stories of Strawhat Luffy and his ever growing crew of unique and interesting members kept circulating and then when you joined the crew, Killer took note of your introduction bounty. While you werenât quite considered among the Supernovaâs it was still enough to pique his interest.Â
It made him want to know more. It wasnât exactly hard for his wish to come true; given who your crew was there was a story about you all and your adventures in the papers practically every week. Kid found his vice-captainâs interest in you amusing and even would go so far as to tease Killer about his crush, which was always furiously denied. It was just being thorough about the strength of possible rivals that they could run into in the future. Then the opportunity to see you and your crew in the flesh presented itself when they landed on Sabaody and all hell broke loose in the auction-house.Â
You hadnât really known much about Kid, Killer or the crew until that incident. In the middle of an attack, you flipped in the air and sailed down towards the masked pirate. To avoid hurting him, you hooked your leg around his waist and turned, knocking him to the floor with you landing on top on him. The impact was enough to lift his mask slightly and reveal his face to you and you grinned down at him. âSorry about that, handsome.â You apologised while pulling his mask down into place.Â
While you didnât get why heâd hide his features, you guessed he had a reason for it. Suddenly you heard a Marine rushing towards you for a followup attack and threw your weapon up to block it. Quickly you dealt with them and got to your feet to let Killer finally stand. From behind you, Nami called your name which meant it was time to go. As you ran you looked over your shoulder to throw a lazy wave to Killer. âLetâs do this again sometime!âÂ
As appealing as that offer sounded to Killer, who was finally beginning to admit to himself after that meeting that he just maybe did have a crush on you the chance didnât get to come up again until two years later when your paths crossed in Wano. Under the glow of the lanterns and in the middle of the lively atmosphere of a land finally celebrating their freedom you stood and watched in amusement as the captain of the Kid Pirates was in the middle of a shouting match with your captain and Law of the Heart Pirates. When you saw Killer about to approach the group in the hopes of calming his captain you subtly took his attention by stepping beside him. âYouâre better leaving them to it. Those three are like little kids, theyâll tire themselves out eventually. Enjoy the night off for once.â When Killer turned to face him you smiled and handed him a drink. âHere, to make up for our less than conventional introduction in Sabaody.â
âYou remember that?â Killer asked, slightly stunned. It had been two years and it had been so brief, he doubted the encounter had left such an impression for you. He could only watch behind his mask as your grin widened, your eyes sparkling at the memory, effectively proving him wrong.Â
âCourse I remember, definitely wouldnât forget a face like yours in a hurry.â Killer tensed slightly when you winked and took a sip of your own drink. Killer considered your earlier statement and glanced to see the three Captains had finally calmed their squabbling at least for the time being. He supposed enjoying himself with your company wouldnât be such a bad thing. After all, it had been two years in the waiting and who knew how long it would be before your paths crossed again after tonight.
