Shota Shimizu - love [Translation]
Transparent tears
Trace down your cheeks
Yeah, that invisible pain
Intangible pain
The wind softly blew
And summer approached again
Feeling sad and lonely
I gently hugged you
I felt your back in my arms
I won’t let you go, can’t let you go again
I want to live with you forever
How easy it would be
If love didn’t come with pain
The more I love you
The more I hurt you
I take your hand
In the soft light
We want to be together
No matter how many mistakes we make…
I love you
All along I was searching
For someone like you
Yeah, someone I could share
Anything and everything with
I want to sing to you
One by one the kind things
That went unnoticed
Until now
I won’t go back to those lonely lights
When I trembled in fear
I want to be by your side forever
The figure quietly vanishing
All alone in the mist was me
But you rescued me
I take your hand
In the soft light
We want to be together
No matter how many mistakes we make…
I love you
I never learned
What true love is
But my heart’s love for you
Is the truest part about me
How easy it would be
If love didn’t come with pain
The more I love you
The more I hurt you
I take your hand
In the soft light
We want to be together
No matter how many mistakes we make…
I love you

1. Just Tonight by coldrain-
He listens to it when he gets insecure about being not enough, especially since Yamaguchi has became so cool he felt like he's getting farther away from him.
2. Piece by Local Connect
He loves how underrated this song is and he feels like he's got to keep it to himself.
3. D (Half Moon) by Dean
Love, love the stars~ He has diverse music knowledge because one must never stop at what he already knows, right? He listens to this usually when he's studying.
4. Selfish by Nariaki Obukuro
He thinks this guy deserves some international recognition. But mostly he just love the vibe.
5. Tadow by FKJ & Masego
Chilling after practice.
6. Why Georgia by John Mayer
He's good at English mainly because he likes Western music too. And he's having trouble deciding his top 10 favourite.
7. You Lie by coldrain
He knows he has a complex when it comes to lies and people who lies. But he's human too, and he usually lies when it comes to his own feelings and what he's thinking.
8. Dilemma by Pay Money To My Pain
It's a classic for him and he "inherited" it from his brother. Akiteru introduced it to him.
9. Alone by Shimizu Shota ft SALU
Yamaguchi introduced him to Shimizu Shota through Kimi Ga Suki. He liked this song more though.
10. Breezeblocks by Alt-J
He loved the video first. Then he listened to all their songs.

My thoughts on Saito-hen
I think this is the Hakumyu I like the least out of the four? I’ve watched up to this date. You can really tell it was the first one, mainly in terms of how some of the actors sing and the quality of the songs and the music, though as with Okita-hen, there are some aspects I like that aren’t present in other productions. Now that this has been said, let’s go into detail
The songs with lyrics in English. Why? Why was it necessary? Like “Don’t forget my style”. I don’t think I need to say anything else about that, I’m sure everyone understands what I mean XD
I love the stage divided in three different areas with movable floors and panels. It helps make the production more dynamic in terms of how the characters enter and leave the stage.
I don’t really like this Chizuru... I don’t know why, but I just don’t see Hitomi Yoshida as Chizuru, sorry.
WHERE ARE SANNAN AND KONDOU? ;__; There are SO MANY changes in the story just because Sannan isn’t even mentioned, it’s as if the whole concept of the Fury Corps and the Wate4r of Life investigation weren’t relevant at all to the overall plot.
Hirokazu Amano is not a bad Yamazaki, but I prefer Shota Takasaki :( At least Yamazaki appears in this production... And the same goes for Junji Shimizu, he’s a good Amagiri but he’s not my favourite. HOWEVER, the way he bows during curtain call is the most appropriate for the character out of them all.
I noticed that the choreography during Yaisa! Yaisa! Yaisa! is quite different than in more recent musicals. I was re-watching Harada-hen recently and I feel like you can divide the musicals in “periods” just based on some elements present in this song. While on the subject of this song, why don’t Kazama and Amagiri sing? :(
YUUSUKE KASHIWAGI. OMG. THIS MAN. Can someone write a route for Shiranui, turn it into a musical and have this man as the lead????
Oni no Matsuei reminds me SO FREAKING MUCH to the Team Rocket’s Battle Theme and you can’t change my mind. So now Kazama is Jessie, Amagiri is James and Shiranui is Meowth.
Going back to the choreography, I find it so funny, the choreographer was having so much fun when he was preparing for this production.
Okita is a diva. Period. He steals the spotlight SO. MANY. TIMES. during Saito-hen that sometimes you don’t know which musical you are watching.
On a related note, the pacing and storytelling are really off?? A lot of characters appear way more than Saito and Chizuru and we don't really get to see their relationship developing??? This is something I really disliked, but as it was the first Hakuoki musical maybe they didn’t know if the would be able to do more and they tried to include as many things as they could just in case. Though I find some scenes really unnecessary and think that time could have been used in a different way. For example, even though this is Saito-hen, we don’t know that he was a spy for the Shinsengumi in the Guardians of the Imperial Tomb until he comes back, and the scene where Saito comes back to HQ in the middle of the night, finds out that Chizuru is sick, and takes care of her is nowhere to be found.
Props to the person in charge of changing Heisuke's wig. Really. Great job. AND WHY IS KODO’S FAKE BALD A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER THAN IN HEISUKE-HEN?? How is it possible for it to look way worse with the passing of the years? XDD Poor Manji Edogawa
Gen-san is so funny. I wish they brought him back for more Hakumyus, he’s a great comic relief. The only thing that throws me off is that he looks so young XD
Can we talk about Yamazaki's death?? He’s like “I’m done with this, bye, bitches!”
Saito's transformation was awesome! I think it may be my favourite Fury transformation, I found it so realistic as opposed to the other transformations with lots of running around and jumping and smoke.
And speaking of Saito... Poor Ryo Matsuda was dripping with sweat almost the whole time. But like, the poor man was so drenched in sweat he must have been dehydrating??? GET THAT MAN AN ENORMOUS GLASS OF WATER, A FAN, AND A COSTUME MADE WITH A LIGHTER FABRIC. I felt so bad for him :( But he deserves the world for giving it his all in that situation.
Summarizing, not my favourite but I wish some things were included in other Hakumyus. One of those things being the subtitles? titles? Idk? in Japanese in the Extras. Bring that back!!

RIRI Lyrics: Forever feat. Shimizu Shota
English translation and romanization below the cut.
ENGLISH
Promise me just one thing
Don’t disappear and leave me all alone
Without saying a word
While I’m feeling profoundly sad
No matter how hard things may seem
We’ll stand up and face it together
Baby I love you So I’m sure we’ll be just fine
I’ll just keep laying eyes on you
To keep the world you and I live in
Shining forever and ever
There’s nothing else I need
All you need
Is one single thing to believe in
You showed me what love was
You’re everything to me
I guess I’m overthinking it
If I ever got lost
In a world where you didn’t exist...
...Do you think
I’d find you again?
Those are kind of dreams I’ve been having
Even with you here beside me
I’ll just keep laying eyes on you
To keep the world you and I live in
Shining forever and ever
There’s nothing else I need
All you need
Is one single thing to believe in
You showed me what love was
You’re everything to me
Everything that has a form
Will disappear in the end, no doubt
But the feelings we share won’t
I bet you they’ll repeat over and over again
No matter what tomorrow may bring
Forever more
I’ll just keep laying eyes on you
To keep the world you and I live in
Shining forever and ever
There’s nothing else I need
All you need
Is one single thing to believe in
You showed me what love was
You’re everything to me

Shota Shimizu - Rainbow - Lyrics
song (spotify)

Unbelieveably,
the sky cleared up
I hate this small umbrella,
but I just have to carry it along
So maybe that’s why
you’re trying to comfort me
A rainbow bridge spans across the sky,
but I can’t use it as a shortcut
I wanna try living life with all I have,
just like the rainbow I saw today,
so that my future self isn’t disappointed
in the me from today
You lovingly decorated the dream
that you had left sitting in the window
You always thought it was fine
I love that side of you
A bow of rain creates an arch across the sky
The town I’m used to is changing,
and it’s like an old wound aching
But I don’t hate it
It’s making lyrics come to my mind
When I turn back to let out everything I want to say,
I see a light I saw once before
I didn’t know whether to leave the slightly heavy umbrella somewhere
I wanted to try to do this day over again,
but I changed my mind
because doing it over would be too sad
I wanna try living life with all I have,
just like the rainbow I saw today,
so that my future self isn’t disappointed
in the me from today
You lovingly decorated the dream
that you had left sitting in the window
You always thought it was fine
I love that side of you
It’s always like this –
I thought you were right here,
but when I looked around, I was all alone
The rainbow, too, will vanish at some point,
so is that why the rain came down?

Music and so on
My taste in music is actually quite eccentric. I don't really choose any genre. If it sounds good and the meaning is good to me, I'll like it. I can like trendy songs too, even if they don't make sense lol. I always go on about BTS, whose songs are mostly in Korean, but I can like any song from any language.
For songs in English, I usually like older songs. I think an underrated artist of my generation that I really love is Vanessa Carlton. Thousand Miles was an insta-love and forever love, but I also love her other songs: Ordinary Day, White Houses, Who's to Say, My Best, Nolita Fairytale, & Heroes and Thieves. I learned Thousand Miles on the piano first lol because I really love that intro and just the melody of the whole song. I also learned White Houses, which has a pretty catchy tune. (It's a controversial song for what it talks about but its overall meaning is like a moral lesson. I really like the cadence of every line and how Vanessa rhymed and wrote the song beautifully. Besides that, the MV was really artistic; she was so graceful dancing ballet!) Vanessa likes octaves, and I like doing them because I can reach them lol (my best friend always whines she can't reach that far XD). On a different note, Vanessa's songs are often deep, and she has a way with her words that isn't so typical. It's hard to explain haha XD
Another underrated artist is Marié Digby. Her Say it Again was really good. Other songs I love from her are Machine and Beauty in Walking Away, which were so relatable. I also love Spell. She usually plays the guitar, but she can play the piano too. She often does covers. Some I really love she covered were Wicked Game and Ordinary World. She has such a crisp and soothing voice, so wonderful to listen to~
I actually liked Taylor Swift's old songs. Her songs are mostly lyrical poems. I also loved The Veronicas who are sassy twins~ Untouched is a classic from them but they have a variety of songs; I love Speechless, What's Going On, When It Falls Apart, and You Ruin Me. I also love most of Avril Lavigne's songs. She has quite a range of songs. I like most of her punk rock songs as well as her more mellow ones.
As for male singers... I like some of Jason Mraz's songs, especially Remedy. Bruno Mars has songs I like too. I like bands as well like Green Day, Fallout Boy, Simple Plan, Linkin' Park, Korn. And for a mixed group, I love Pentatonix~
For those who sing in China, some solo singers I like are Jolin Tsai (She's Taiwanese but she's really popular in China; she's been going on for a decade, and her live performances are epic~ I think 2ne1 has the same attitude as her lol. She's badass and a queen XD), Liu Yifei (She was in Forbidden Kingdom movie with Jet Li and Jackie Chan years ago), and Jay Chou (he's the sidekick in the movie Green Hornet, btw😅). In Taiwan (solo or not): Angela Zhang, Fahrenheit, SHE, Pets Tseng.
For Japan, fav bands: One Ok Rock, Bump of Chicken, Uverworld, Scandal, Goose House, Tommy Heavenly6, Stereopony, and Supercell. Soloists: Yuna Ito, Maiko Nakamura, Megumi Nakajima, Nana Kitade, Nano, Shimizu Shota, YUI (before she joined a group). For Vocaloids, I love Luka Megurine and Gumi the most. I also love 40mP songs; he usually produces and composes, and sometimes his wife Chano sings his songs~ 😍
Back to Korean artists... Even before BTS, I've always been a fan of Younha and Epik High (their song together, entitled "Umbrella," was reeaaaallly good). Younha sings in both Korean and Japanese, and like BTS she has Korean and Japanese albums. She also sings in English~ She'd performed English covers as well, including a Cold Play's song. She'd sung for many kdrama osts as well. More recent soloists I like are Ailee and Lim Kim.
I haven't really been a stan of Kpop groups before BTS. I did love songs from Girl's Generation, Shinee, Beast, 2PM, Super Junior, Big Bang, DBSK, Davichi, 4MINUTE, and 2ne1. For more recent groups, Miss A (though they split up 😭), Red Velvet. And for bands, DAY6 (I love Congratulations, Out of My Mind, and Free; and I miss Junhyeok so much—he's my bias on par to Swag Chicken 😭; on a diff. note, their lives and covers are amazing~) and Nell.
Overall, I can be picky, and my tastes are often random lol. But I enjoy a lot of music in different languages. How did I fall so hard for BTS? It's a really long story, and it involves clicking one of those Bangtan Bombs of theirs and funny interviews and personal stories back in 2015. I didn't know I was a BTS trash until I saw someone point it out in a vid 😂

[VID] [170421] Seunghyun’s Instagram Live (challenge yourself not to fall in love with him after watching this xD)
part 2
cr: kou yuu
Songs:
1. A song that he sings for his grandma xD (probably has something to do with the reality show that he is doing with his grandma? xD)
2. Soba song.. or not lol he said he forgot how it went xD;;
3. Home (by Michael Buble), but it started with “please watch my show, please watch my show” xDD
4. Sakura (by Shimizu Shota)
5. Marry Me (by Goo Yoonhee, original song) (video part 2)
6. Only Human (by K)
Digest:
Seunghyun basically said that this time, for their 10th anniversary album, all of the songs are good, and all of the members are especially putting in a lot of efforts into it, for example, as Hongki himself said on Hongkira yesterday, he is currently busy writing lyrics.
He said lately all of the members are really busy practicing that they haven’t got any proper sleep. He also talked about the fanmeeting that he is going to do with Minhwan, he said since its only the two of them, we should look forward to their performance there. :)
He said that the director from the variety that he filmed also left a comment there lol And then he said that his reality is going to be aired in May, but he is not sure of the specific date.
He said he is so grateful that so many people came to tune in to his instalive. Someone said that Seunghyun’s popularity is increasing, and Seunghyun was like, even if there are only 5 or 10 people tuning in, he feels thankful already, as it was just a simple insta broadcast. <3
He promoted his show both in Korean and Japanese, telling us to watch it on EBS, the show is called “금쪽같은 내 새끼랑” and is usually aired on Thursday. He said if not too many people see it it because of him, won’t the broadcast be mad at him? (such a precious person xD). He said: since I can’t speak English, can someone who speaks English promote it for me? (here, here, I’m doing it for you xD)

■ U-KISS
U-KISS, a group of five people (including members who have experience of living abroad in the United States, China, etc.) aiming to be international artists, debuted in the summer of 2008. In the name U-KISS, the initial letter "U" refers to "ubiquitous" meaning the top and "you" in English, the word "KISS" leads to "kissing with you", and all together it stands for "Korean International Idol Superstar". With an amazing singing ability and powerful performances that can’t be imagined from their calm facial expressions, they won a new award in "Asia Song Festival" two months after their debut. Each member has regular appearances as models and on variety shows, and acts as MC, so it’s a group that combines popularity and the ability to be active in various genres. In addition, their popularity has already gained high recognition not only in Korea, but also in Asian countries such as China, Thailand, and Malaysia.
* You can hear K & Soohyun’s duet of Only Human here:
