I Painted Your Smile (short movie)

It's an upcoming short movie from students in MUIC and it's starring two actors who plays/played in BL series: Kokliang Parinya (TarnType, Love Syndrome 3...) and Park Anantadej (2Moons: The Ambassador and the upcoming Monster Next Door)

This short movie is inspired by the life of Leslie Cheung and the impressionism work of Claude Monet.

I admit I discovered this because I'm following Kokliang Parinya social media, but I find it very interesting. I wonder what is it going to be. I'm not sure it's going to have a BL story. However, they are quoting Leslie Cheung as an inspiration. They are also using actors who are known in BL world, so, it makes me believe it could be a short BL movie.

I like to look at paintings.

But not just any kind -- I wish I was that artsy. I like to look at the "worldly" ones, the ones that create a quiet scene atop a field of grass and flowers, or engulfs me in the peaceful mayhem of the cityscape.

I like to let my eyes gaze upon every brush stroke, every drop of color, every splash of paint that mixes soul and canvas. It's as if I press up against the barrier between my world and theirs, like I'm so close to crossing that threshold into a place where my cares can melt away, and I can live amongst the oil stars and pastel flowers.

And when I turn away, that place disappears. The portal closes as my vision is called elsewhere, as if reality is putting its foot between me and the metaphysical doorstep.

And I yearn.

I yearn for that explosion of vibrant color, my mind pushed and pulled with thoughts of the place in the painting; a million possibilities all contained within a single window of freedom.

A world where every little pond is bedazzled with lily pads and hyacinths, where cities enjoy a plate of cool evening air paired beautifully with a glass of the purple moonlight.

And I know now.

My body may live here, amongst the smog and cogs of today and tomorrow, but my soul dances still; holding hands with the memoirs and reminders, smiling and laughing amongst the fireflies and lanterns that light the faces of those I loved, and those I still fight for.

All amongst those paintings -- Those little worlds, kept still in one moment and yet still freer than I will ever be.

And... call me crazy, I already have, but hey -- It's not that bad.
