There was a time I was really obsessed with the Akane's cut hair moment! I feel is so intense!!!

I think most of these sketches were never posted, some were too unfinished, just practise sketches or feelings I had to put on paper.

Let me find the links to one of the taping reports from "The opening night excitation" even if I think the cuddling is not really mentioned there, the same attendee (Kazzie, who I was able to meet outiside the taping I attended years later) draw it from memory after seeing it was not released in the episode.

There’s a cuddling scene that was never released?!?!???? Why am I learning this only now??? I need to know the parameters of this new piece of knowledge

Yeah, I wasn't active in the fandom at the time so I've only heard about it from fanfiction and fanart that references it. I've been trying to dig for the taping report or whatever that reveals that info but so far I haven't found it (if anyone has a link to the original source that confirms this scene, please share it!).

I am actually frequently haunted by the thought of all the things that got taped but did not make it into the episodes. Some other deleted scenes I've heard about:

Shamy's wedding gift from Stephen Hawking

the phone call from Meemaw

Amy's mother talks to her about wedding night expectations before she gets married (I don't have a source for this, take it with a grain of salt)

there was a cut line that revealed Sheldon read 50 Shades of Grey at some point??? (again no source for this, I'm not actually sure about this one, I just heard it somewhere once)

And actually not even deleted scenes, but just retakes of scenes that played just slightly different from the final product. Sometimes productions stills and merch reveal these. Like, look at all these different Shamy prom photos:

I swear there's like a secret vault somewhere with a bunch of unseen Shamy footage. If we can figure out where it is then we can storm it like an Area 51 raid. Who's with me?

You never reached this artist to ask them for art, they shouldn’t ask for money. My opinion as a fanart artist.

I’m an artist, drawing the big bang theory since 2015 and still doing it (almost 10 years!) I’ve drawn fanart of lots of my fav fanfics, as a celebration to the show and the writer of the fic. Even comics!! Because I wanted and because they inspired me!! . If a writer contacted me for a cover, of course it’s a commission and they paid me (twice in almost 10 years to be honest, also 2 commissions for a tattoo) when I drew what I wanted for a fic I loved, some authors after my unasked fanart of their work asked me to use it as a cover and I said yes BECAUSE IT WAS ME DOING FANART OF THEIR FANFIC AND NOONE ASKED ME TO DO IT. It was a made with LOVE and because I WANTED TO DO IT.

Also I have a patreon so my patrons got the artwork for their personal use and they contributed to my very tiny income. Even patrons were the ones asking me for fanart of their fav fics (I have requests open and voted by them) and I did it, the authors never had to pay me anything.

Of course, art must be paid when it’a commissioned artwork. That is obvious and noone should do commissions for free. Value your work artist!

I’m also a writer and I draw my own covers, just for context.

That’s my opinion and my experience. Hope it helps.

I would never approach a writer and tell them “ I love your fic, do you want a fanart? Pay me. “ only if it’s the other way around.

Fanart for fanfiction

Okay, please don't butcher me this is an honest question. I had someone reach out to me and say they really liked my fanfic that I wrote a LONG time ago and said they wanted to make art for it. After chatting for a bit the artist is asking for money so we can start.

I was always under the impression as someone who has never had this happen that people would just make the art and send it to the fanfic author.

I guess what i'm asking is, is it normal for people to ask a fanfic author to pay for fanart of a fanfic? I understand why they would, but it's not something I really would personally pay for if i'm being honest but I now feel bad, like I have led the artist on by saying I would work with them...

For a little more context my fic is over 5 years old in a crossover category with like 10 fics and I do not write fanfiction anymore.
