#short haircuts for round faces and thin wavy hair

how i originally saw the magnus archives characters before i looked at any fanart. something nobody asked for but i wanted to share anyway bc i get frustrated when people start to police character designs.
my original jon was a boring white guy with professional short wavy black hair with greys at the temples. i guess i saw him as white bc i just reflect my own identities onto characters? also in a really fucked up way, if anyone is gonna get a super underserved promotion it’s gonna be a white guy (part of the horror ig lol) :/ he’s always been tall to me. shorter than martin but at least 5’11. he’s thin but not emaciated, a healthy weight for his hight or whatever. he has green eyes and rectangular glasses. i still see jon like this, except his skin is a darker, more olive tone, and his hair is curlier. i have never seen him with long hair though. the longest it gets is around his collar.
for martin, i took the “not the smallest person” to mean that he was super tall (like 6’1 or 6’2) not a reference to his weight or body shape. i actually originally saw him as super skinny and scrawny, but ive since adjusted that to make him look a lot like mike from the newest bake off season lmao. to me he’s white with dark brown hair that’s a bit wavy and shaggy but just in the sense that it makes him look youthful. he wears round tortoiseshell glasses, knit sweaters, and corduroys.
tim looks exactly like his VA. i can’t see anyone except mike lebeau in my head when i hear tim. except on the rare occasion where i see markiplier for some reason. my original idea of tim was just a vague Hot Guy with dark hair, nothing too detailed.
i’ve never had a mental image of sasha bc i hadn’t really heard her much, she was just a vague Prescence in my head when she was referred to. when i listen to the show now, i see the fandom’s version. not!sasha however has always looked like gemma chan. she has long stick straight black hair, dark eyes, and wears turtlenecks and trousers.
i’ve never seen melanie as the fandom design. to me she has always looked EXACTLY like freema agyeman as martha jones in dr who. i think lydia (melanie’s VA) sounds just like freema so that’s who I always saw. melanie is black, has dyed hair (there’s no specific color i see, it’s just dyed Vibrant), wears dark clothes, and heavy shoes. her hair is straightened and she wears it in a spiky bun quite often. she’s short, maybe 5’4.
georgie is white and a natural ginger, 5’6, medium build. she has a heart shaped face and a wavy bob with bangs and she always tucks her hair behind her ear. sometimes she has a jellyfish haircut. she dresses like one of those new hippies: patchwork skirts, flowing cardigans, big boxy silhouettes, some crochet pieces. this is how i’ve seen her since i first listened and it hasn’t changed at all.
i originally saw basira as having long curly hair (3C curl pattern to be specific), dark skin, and sharp eyes. idk how else to describe them. when she’s not in her police uniform she wears all black and owns a lot of hoodies with graphics on them. she’s about 5’6 and the same body type as georgie, if not a little bigger. i still see her pretty much just like this, if ive been looking at a lot of fanart then my brain will make her a hijabi, but it’s not a constant design in my head.
daisy looks like dulcie collins from deadloch. she’s tall (at least 6’), thin and muscular, white, with long wild blond hair. she’s always looked like this for me, except after she gets out of the coffin i decided that her hair would be so matted from the mud that she would have to cut it into a pixie. she wears a lot of graphic tees and jeans. she owns only a few sweatshirts or sweaters and they’re all a little oversized for her.
Podcast fanartists baffle and amaze me. I've been seeing TMA fanart for *years* on the peripherals of my feeds, and I always assumed that there was official art or clear descriptions or something because there was always variety in the designs, but there were things that were almost always the same, just like fanart of any visual media.
Here is a list of all the main character descriptions I am aware of that exist in the 200 episodes of The Magnus Archives (not counting scar descriptions):
Johnathan Sims
"Scrawny"
Premature grey hairs
Martin Blackwood
"Not the smallest guy in the world"
"Uncanny" resemblance to his father. Whatever he looks like.
Sasha James
"Tall"
"Long hair"
"Glasses"
Timothy Stoker
"The hot one"
Basira Hussain
...
Alice "Daisy" Tonner
...
Melanie King
...
Georgina Barker
...
The amount of details that everyone has just agreed on being true for all of these guys is legitimately wild

Haircuts For Men in Caledonia: 5 Hairstyles That Are Still Fresh In 2024
Gents of Caledonia, let's talk hair. It's 2024, and while trends come and go, some styles have staying power. Whether you're looking to freshen up your look or stick with a classic, we've got you covered. Here are five hairstyles that are still turning heads in Caledonia this year.
The Modern Undercut
In male haircuts, the undercut remains a go-to for those who want a sharp, clean look. In Caledonia, barbers are putting their spin on this classic style. The key is in the contrast—short sides with length on top give you versatility.
What Makes It Work:
The adaptability is the major feature of the undercut. For guys dealing with thinning hair in Caledonia, it's a game-changer. By keeping the sides tight and leaving length on top, you create the illusion of fuller, thicker hair.
Styling Tip:
Invest in a good pomade or clay. Run it through damp hair, especially on the longer top section. Use a comb for a sleek finish or your fingers for a more textured, casual vibe.
2. The Timeless Pompadour
Elvis may have made it famous, but the men's pompadour haircut is far from old news. The current take on the pompadour is all about texture and balance. It's less about the sky-high volume and more about a natural, effortless look.
Who It Suits Best:
Guys with thick hair can really rock this style, but don't count yourself out if your hair's on the thinner side. A skilled barber, right cut, and product can do wonders for you too. The key is to tailor the height and volume to your face shape and hair type.
Maintenance Matters:
To keep your pompadour looking fresh, you'll need to visit your barber every 4-6 weeks. At home, a round brush and blow dryer will be your best friends for creating that classic shape.
3. The Fade With a Twist
Fades are still going strong, but 2024 is all about customization. The undercut fade is having a moment in Caledonia. It's like the best of both worlds – the clean lines of an undercut with the gradual blend of a fade.
Why It's Popular:
This style works for pretty much any hair type and face shape. Plus, it's low-maintenance, perfect for guys who don't want to spend hours on their hair every morning. The fade adds a touch of sophistication to the edgy undercut, making it suitable for both work and play.
Barber's Advice:
When asking for this cut, be specific about how high you want the fade and how dramatic you want the contrast. A good barber will consider your head shape and hairline to create a fade that complements your features.
4. Dreadlocks Reimagined
Dreadlocks have been around for ages literally), but they're far from boring. Caledonia's barbers are getting creative with locs, offering fresh takes on this classic style. From undercut dreads to tapered styles, there's a lot you can do.
Trend Alert:
One of the hottest looks in Caledonia right now is the loc fade. It combines the appeal of dreadlocks with the edge of a fade, creating a striking contrast.
Care Tip:
The best dreadlock haircuts in Caledonia aren't just about the initial style – they're about maintenance too. Regular retwisting and moisturizing are key to keeping your locs looking fresh and healthy.
5. The Textured Crop
Last but not least, let's talk about the textured crop. This style is perfect for guys who want a low-fuss, high-impact look. It's short on the sides and back, with just enough length on top to add some texture.
Versatility is Key:
It works well for all hair types, but it's especially great for guys with wavy or curly hair. In Caledonia, barbers are pairing this cut with subtle fades for a clean, modern look. The best part is that it looks just as good fresh out of bed as it does when styled for a night out.
Styling Tip:
To enhance the texture, work a small amount of matte clay or sea salt spray through dry hair. Use your fingers to create a definition for an effortlessly cool vibe.
Remember, a great haircut is more than just following trends. It's about feeling confident and looking your best. So whether you're going for a classic undercut or trying out something new, wear it with pride.
So there you have it, gents. Five hairstyles that are still fresh in 2024. Which one will you be trying out on your next visit to the barber? Don't be afraid to experiment – your perfect style might be just a snip away!

The sixth and final image is of a chubby woman with a short fro and sandles. She is wearing an ankle length, sleeveless slip dress with a v-neckline.
All of the images are pained in a loose, sketchy, watercolour artstyle. End I.D.]

Forever and Ever
paring: Rhett Abbott x reader
cw: throwing up, sickness, hair loss, mentions of survival rates, light? angst, if i missed any please let me know!
foreword; Hi! This is my first ever drabble (that i’m posting) criticism is always appreciated but please do so nicely 🙂, lowercase intended. lightly based off lyrics of forever and ever amen by randy travis.
you were hunched over the toilet bowl just finishing your latest round of throwing up when you heard the stairs creek under rhett’s weight, he was just coming back in from tending to the horses and doing his morning rounds.
as the bathroom door got pushed open you heard rhett say in a low voice “oh baby, here let me get you a washcloth, do you want warm water or cold?”
“warm please” you croaked as you wiped the tears off of your face with your free hand that wasn’t holding you up.
“whadda ya need sweetheart” he whispered as he kneeled down to hand you the damp cloth and gathered your hair to get it out of your sweaty face.
you turned your head to look at him with your swollen eyes and replied “i just wanna get in bed honey, i don’t think i can make it, could you help me?”
“of course darlin’ cmon i got you” rhett gathered you up in his arms and made the short walk to your guy’s bed and gently placed you on it. he propped you up against his chest and grabbed a hair tie to start braiding your hair so it wouldn’t get in the way of your face.
As he grabbed the brush to start combing the knots out of your hair you could feel the strands coming loose. rhett gently started at the bottom and slowly worked his way up, he stopped a couple times to get the hair out of the bristles of the brush and you couldn’t bare to look at how much hair you had lost this time around.
three months ago you had gotten diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, rhett has taken care of you through all of chemo appointments and the bouts of doctors appointments that seemed never ending. one thing that rhett always loved about you was your hair. dark brown, wavy, and almost always done in some type of braid.
early on in y’all’s relationship rhett had asked if you could teach him how to braid so he could do your hair as well as amy’s and any future daughters that you guys were sure that you would have. but that was before, before the diagnosis, before the 40% chance of survival, before the loss of your hair. you’ve tried to keep up with it as much as possible but at this point with how much your hair has thinned and the bald spots that were beginning to show you didn’t know what to do.
rhett got done braiding and you turned to look at him with a soft smile and a look of adoration. “thank you baby, i love you” you whispered as if it was the last time you would ever say it.
“oh darlin’ you know i would do it ten times over, forever and ever” he said with a quick kiss to your forehead as he laid you down.
a while later you woke up to the sun streaming through the curtains and realized that you must have nodded off sometime after rhett laid you down. you reached a hand behind you to feel the bed and was met with cold crumpled sheets. you push yourself up and look around the room you could hear rhett downstairs lightly singing to the radio that you guys had.
as you make your way to the bathroom you catch a glance of the razor that you use to cut rhett’s hair when it gets scraggly. you take a moment and think about your hair and how much easier it would be if you went ahead and shave it off, with a quick glance back you make the decision.
“rhett” you call downstairs with an uneasy tone in your voice.
“comin darlin” he replies as you hear footsteps start to make their way up the steps and into the bathroom.
as he enters he sees the razor in your hand that you grabbed as he was making his way into the bathroom. he stops and leans on the doorway with a quick glance to you, the razor, and you again. with a raised brow he asks “is it already haircut time for me again?” .
you chuckle and give a reply of “nope, it’s my time for a haircut” .
“o-oh?” is the only thing he lets out as he realizes what you mean. “baby, you wanna shave your head?” he asks.
a quick glance in the mirror makes you realize that this was going to happen sooner or later.
“can you do it for me, please” you ask him quietly with your eyes squeezed shut.
“of course sweetpea” is the reply that comes from your sweet husband.
as he goes to plug the razor in you take a breath and start to undo your braid, you run your fingers through your hair and more chunks had come out. that just solidifies your decision. rhett sits you on the counter and you turn around, hugging your knees to your chest.
he flips the switch to the razor to ON and looks at you through the mirror. with a final nod you close your eyes. he parts your hair and starts to run the razor along your scalp, you feel the hair start to fall down your shirt, onto the counter, into the sink.
2 minutes later you hear the razor go off. “okay darlin’ you can open your eyes now, it’s all done” he says as he sets his chin on your shoulder. “i didn’t think you could get any prettier but here we are” rhett whispers in your ear.
you let out a small giggle and open your eyes, as you look in the mirror and make eye contact you see rhett staring at you with pure love on his face. you move your eyes away from his and glance at your head, small peach fuzz was what your hair resembled now. you run your hand across the back of your head and let out a small sigh.
“what would i do with you you honey, thank you for doin this it means a lot” you say as you turn around to look him directly in the eye.
“you know i would do it ten times over sweetheart, forever and ever” he says as he plants a kiss on the top of your head.

Hi!, can you describe some of the character’s physical traits for example face and hair a bit more. I was shocked when I read that Vivian has long hair, I always pictured him as having short and wavy hair. Please :)
Sure! I'll try my best. I tend to be rather vague about most of my characters' physical traits and leave the rest up to the imagination, but in this case, the seasons themselves have very specific traits often related to their seasons! I'll put a read more for length. I'll just describe the Liddell family for now, so Vivian and Graham and their five children. I'll include Shannon at the very last in case anyone wants to skip over that for in-story surprises.
Vivian Eyes: Medium green Hair: Close to a sandy blond but maybe a little lighter/buttery than that, length trails past his shoulder blades a bit. You're right that it's wavy! Height: Tall? 6'2"ish? Weight: Never good at estimating weight, but he's slender with lean muscle (from walking to and from work, despite having a car) Facial shape: Somewhat round, but with a distinctive jawline. Typically shaves all facial hair Other features: Oddly shaped ear from scar, long fingers, and I'm going with "normal eyebrows" here
Graham Eyes: Brown Hair: Light brown, ever so slight wave to it as well, and it cuts off a bit past his chin. It is not cut at all one length--front is a little shorter around his face, but only marginally, and I imagine it somewhat layered Height: Tall, 6'2"ish? (Generally the same as his husband) Weight: Stocky build, good strong biceps from lifting wood all the time Facial shape: Square face, pretty strong jawline as well. He often goes for a more rugged look with his facial hair, although he keeps it trimmed so it's not a big beard and mustache. He shaves it off his neck. Other features: thick hands/fingers full of callouses, pretty thick eyebrows, and his hands and nails can get stained a lot
Sophronia Eyes: Light purple Hair: Pearl white with the light purple highlights that get more distinctive at the tips of her hair ("magic hair" is my excuse). Also, it curls into natural ringlets about halfway down and is quite long. Height: 5'11" Weight: Mostly slender, but I imagine her having somewhat of a barrel shape to her torso and a bit thicker arms and thighs Facial shape: Rounder than Vivian's, and she does share a chin with Vivian (not sure how to describe that) Other features: Her lips are very pale, she has thin eyebrows and long fingers
Eldon Eyes: Crystal blue Hair: White as fresh snow, I can't describe haircuts to save my life, but his hair is considered long? It's layered, and none really touches his neck aside from what's at the nape. He also has bangs, unlike his fathers. His hair grows in straight. Height: Tall for a 12-year-old Weight: That slender with baby roundness that just goes with young children Facial shape: Round face, with somewhat chubby cheeks. He's tall, but his face makes him seem younger somehow. Other features: Shares the winter pale lips with his sister, he'll probably have long hands as he grows. Despite being tall as kid, I feel like he'll be shorter than Howie, were they ever to become adults. His eyebrows are quite thin and probably will be all his life.
Howard Eyes: Chestnut brown Hair: Chocolate brown with red highlights. Hair is short (but has some length to sweep it to the side) and straight but quite thick. I've drawn him, but I can't show it. :( Height: Tall! Weight: He's very slim muscle, he's kind of active and sporty. Story doesn't show it often enough, but he's a climber and jumper. Facial shape: Not quite as baby faced as his siblings, and not as round (oval I guess?) and childlike because of his age. Other features: I feel like he'll have less delicate hands/fingers as his winter siblings and Vivian, but they'll still be thinner than his Daddy's. He's got thicker brows than El even as children.
Beau Eyes: Spring green Hair: Walnut brown, cut quite similar to Howie's but maybe a little longer than his older brother's by maybe an inch. It's straight and grows in a bit thinner than all the rest of the family's hair, but it's still got body to it. Height: Eh, not super tall, but like the higher end of average for a five-year-old. Weight: Average for his age, with some baby roundness still. Facial shape: Round cheeks, but his face is a tad more oval like Howie's. Other features: I feel like Beau and Howie really take after Graham with having brown hair and in Beau's case, thicker hands when he grows up. I suspect he'll be stockier too, but muscular? Not sure on that one yet. He might grow to be chubbier and probably on the cute side as an adult because the fat never leaves his cheeks. He'll share Howie's thicker eyebrows.
----Shannon Details Below this Point----
----
----
----
----No Seriously This is a Spoiler----
Shannon Eyes: Green Hair: Golden honey blond, cut at the shoulders (touches), and wavy. Height: 6' Weight: Slender Facial shape: Same as Vivian's Other features: Slender fingers, has freckles, and doesn't need to shave his face that often except for some uneven growth above his lips. (He'd shave it anyway, but it looks stupid as it grows out.) Thin eyebrows.
#I had to switch computers#and email this to myself and copy/paste the answers to get this to work#I would've switched browsers but I am logged onto my main on the other#at least this works#Seasons Characters

(The continuation of this post where during a spell class a portal opened and the boys' female doubles as well as MC's appeared in the class) (I think I could make it an independent "story" for the adventures of my MC /OC /YUU)
My MC /OC /YUU and his double crossing the gaze in the class: * Double bi panic *
*Now we will have to find a solution to bring these young ladies and this gentleman back to their reality, but in the meantime here is the look of our twisted guys if they were girls*
Dorm leaders:
Riddle: Looks both serious and cute, with a round cheeky face and big eyes with long thick lashes as well as a pretty pixie haircut. Obviously she stays small but is always bigger than my MC OC YUU, her voice both soft and sharp, a very interesting contrast.
Leona: Made more of a woman than a young girl, still has magnificent hair, bewitching eyes and has a very toned and nicely muscular body. His voice is deep with that tone both seductive and bored. She knows perfectly well that she is beautiful, that she has charm and adores the handset with her immense intelligence. It's an absolutely formidable combo. She is the same height as her male double.
Azul: Gives that mafia-like aura (Or Sugar Mummy), with her hair styled in an impeccable bun and her tailor that is both professional and flatters her gorgeous figure perfectly. Her smile is both sweet and dangerous. But we all know that deep down she is a sweet girl who needs reassurance and who needs to realize how smart, hardworking, and beautiful she is (and we know any of us don't would stop proving it to her). She must be two or three centimeters shorter than her male double.
Kalim: She's still a sun ball and a full cinnamon roll! So positive and supportive! Tie up her long silver hair with a cute headband and always do her makeup in warm tones (where instead Jamil helps her with her makeup like that). Always wears tons of gold bracelets on her wrists and ankles, is very tactile, and has no problem cuddling the people she loves and appreciates! Is the kind of friend who makes sure you eat well and that you don't miss anything. (I can see her thinking that she and Jamil have more of a sister relationship than a master and servant relationship). Is exactly the same size as her male double.
Vil: Let's be honest here, Vil would be the most gorgeous woman who hasn't set foot at Night Raven College for decades after The Beautiful Queen! You almost feel like she's straight out of a fashion magazine but no, it's just that our Reine des Poisons takes so much care of her and works so hard to come to such potential! Her magnificent hair would reach her shoulders, her voice would be as beautiful as honey on a slice of bread and her makeup and manicure would be as perfect as it gets! Maybe she would be a little taller than her male double (even without heels). (I don't know why but apart from her care and makeup, I also see her very well making her own jewelry as well as her perfume).
Idia: Haired with two long, fiery quilts, she would be more the type to have an e-girl style but with very loose clothes that would not show her forms (the poor one does not realize that she has the potential to become a model for lingerie). Her voice would be both sweet and high-pitched, and she could also be smaller than her male double. (And Husbando, so many Husbando!). Doesn't trust her smile because of her sharp teeth but that is her charm and she is so fucking cute! Maybe she would be more organized and manic than her double even if her room would still be in a very big mess (at least she didn't leave her underwear lying around in plain sight, she would die of shame if anyone saw the cute and childish little designs on it).
Malleus: This woman ... Would be exactly the same size as her male double! And she would be so beautiful and elegant! With long black hair that she would let hang down her back, as well as her incredible figure! (Also gives those Magical Sugar Mummy vibes). His voice, by all the gods ... The most sensual and that playful note we've ever heard. Her voice is also so deep and sweet (let's not even talk about her laugh or I'll die of happiness). Still gives that awesome and intimidating impression on people but is so sweet when you get to know her (Always make that adorable pout when she's sad or upset, you feel like hugging her tight and telling her that even though she is scary in the early days, she's the sweetest person we've ever met!).
The Vice-leader:
Trey: Don't lie to each other, give these married vibes over and over again. But beware, also hides his game very well because in private ... 🥵. Her beautiful hair tied in a ponytail and her voice in playful tones. Would be the type to wear stockings with his uniform and is the same size as his male double. Smells like cake and vanilla, it's both so nice and it also makes you so hungry!
Ruggie: Is quite skinny because as we know Ruggie often endures difficult months. Short and messy hair, has a cheerful voice and an infectious laugh (Quite fond of pretty things in the background, but since she doesn't have much money, she can't really afford it. If she could, she would certainly treat herself to some pretty hair accessories). Perhaps an unacknowledged Tsundere side. Since she cannot feed herself properly for someone her age, she is most certainly smaller than the average for a Beast Woman. Would probably like to have a cuter look, unfortunately she can't afford it as she doesn't want to look "weak".
Jade: Holy shit, this woman is so dangerous and sweetly sadistic, if you ever pique her interest and she likes you on top of that, I'm sorry for you. Her body is certainly muscular and graceful (She also has quite incredible strength). Has long, wavy hair that she wears half-loose and is exactly the same height as her male double. Her voice and at the same time so soft and cold, you don't know if you should feel comfortable or on the contrary, run as far as possible. Obviously loves going for long hikes, (Her legs are so muscular, if she catches you with that, you won't be able to go anywhere). His tone is so teasing, you can't resist him for long.
Jamil: Very tall, even a few inches taller than her male double. Just like Trey, she smells so good, like cinnamon. Has a fairly athletic build, and remained a very, very good dancer. Very skillful, maybe makes her own wrist and ankle bracelets, also wears a lot of jewelry (not as expensive as Kalim's, but still very pretty and it shows her really well, especially the snake designs ), also wears a lot of ear piercings. His hair is very long, silky, and worn the same way as the male Jamil (maybe with extra pearls in his hair). Her voice is deep (sensual) and with a note of irony and sarcasm. Her make up apply lightly but always in such beautiful warm tones (she also highlights her cheekbones), especially with eyeliner to highlight her intense gaze.
Rook: His hair is worn in the same way as the male Rook, also wears a multitude of hats as well as pretty earrings. Likes to tease those around her, smiling and bright. Has a French accent, of course. But remains someone dangerous in the end. Is the same height as her double, is athletic, skillful and has excellent eyesight (Normal for a hunter). See beauty in everything and everyone! Don't you think you're handsome? Rook will give you ten points for why she thinks you are beautiful and why you should stop thinking that way because otherwise she will stalk you until you accept this truth. Her voice is happy and confident, deep and warm. May like to wear accessories like long socks with natural or animal designs. Specialized in throwing knives.
Ortho: So cute! The little sister you will want to protect at the risk of your life! So smart and friendly, curious too. Wears a cute fiery pixie hairstyle and has a cheerful, thin voice. Is so small and skinny.
Lilia: Oh boy ... see Draculaura from Monster Hight? She has the same look. So much into jokes, loves to surprise people to scare them. Her voice contrasts completely with her appearance since it is deep and velvety. Same size as her male double. Even though she looks so young, she still acts like a child mom. (Obviously, is always so bad in the kitchen, she brings out stuff, sometimes you are afraid that it will come to life to devour you). Despite her jokes, she is still very good advice and listens.
The rest of our boys:
Cater: If fashionable, is certainly a great influencer. Cater pays so much attention to everything, especially the little details and accessories that she wear. Makeup always on top and colorful, could become a model if she wanted. Is smaller than her male double. Joyful and higher pitched voice, her hair is a bundle of silky curls always worn in a cute way (Like Ariana Grande). (Has a multitude of fans and contenders) carefree and likes to give cute or silly nicknames to people she loves and appreciates. Would be the type to flirt with his friends for fun. Probably has a passion for nail art and would be so proud to show off her designs on her Magicam account! Would act with the first years like a big sister although she is not always good advice. She is so teasing.
Ace: Short, messy hair! Pretty tomboy style, enjoys teasing others too much for his own good, always smiling like shit and communicative. Is a sporty person, and quite arrogant, maybe also a little Tsundere side. Is a hopeless hideaway romantic. Even though she likes to do her makeup, she doesn't like taking fifteen years to do it and does the minimum required. Of course has a more feminine side when she's out of school, but honestly, feminine clothes are never practical for big movements. Act confidently but not too deep down. Her voice is happy and dynamic. Is one or two centimeters smaller than her male double. Likes to wear necklaces and chokers. Rather skinny but not as much as Ruggie.
Deuce: So sweet and so want to do her best to make her mom proud of her. Wearing long hair tied in a low ponytail, her voice is high-pitched and strong. Is quite tall (even taller than her male double). Read romance books on the sly but can't help herself when someone finds out. Probably already dyed his hair blonde during his delinquent period and dyed it before entering Night Raven College. Likes to wear barrettes in her hair, also does her best with her makeup but was not used to it before (it was mainly Ace who taught her everything she knows). Secretly loves wearing skirts and dresses, she hasn't been able to experience it before because she didn't think it would look pretty on her (But she's actually pretty). Certainly be shy and insecure when she finds new people, afraid of doing things badly. Blushes so easily that it is funny. When his delinquent side resurfaces, his voice becomes more serious, threatening, his posture leaves no room for shyness! She might want to change for the better, but that doesn't mean she's going to let others do if they want to bully her!
Jack: Do you see Jasper in the Steven Universe? You now have Jack as a woman. She is muscular and strong! The part she's most proud of is her muscular back! His silvery hair his savage and remained indomitable (But that gives him a crazy charm). Don't take shit from people and still is a Tsundere. But her wagging tail always betrayed her about her emotions, as well as her ears. Same size as her male double. Secretly loves cute things and certainly has an army of adorable stuffed animals in her room in Savanaclaw. Wears a biker style, and because she lives in a cold region with her family, she doesn't get cold easily, so her muscular arms are uncovered all the time (for your viewing pleasure 😏). Her voice is serious, so serious! But if you're friends, you definitely hear that thoughtful little note in her voice. If his male version is the Best Boy, his female version is the Best Girl! She takes care of those she loves and is always ready to help!
Floyd: Is exactly the same size as his male double. Wear her hair short cut in a boyish style (she doesn't have the time or the energy to dwell on her hair). Her voice has high notes, especially when she finds something or someone cute! Very expressive, has no filter. Like her sister, she is muscular and graceful. Her dress style could be similar to those of men in the 40's (she much prefers masculine clothes because it is more comfortable and she doesn't have to worry about her chest with large shirts. does not have to wear a bra!). Love accessories like earrings or piercings. Has immense strength and doesn't always control it. Dislikes makeup, she doesn't want to bother with it (but finds it charming on others, that's just her personal opinion). If its male version is not to be upset, it also works with its female version! Especially when it is at this time of the month, run away poor fools!
Epel: The same problem as with its male version! Except that instead of being manly, she wants us to find her sexy and not cute! All her life in her hometown has not to stop telling her that she was cute! Really ? Was she nothing else ?! She wants people she finds attractive to find her sexy, not cute! Just because she is petite, because she has big, innocent eyes and a round, youthful face, doesn't mean it's her definition of beauty or femininity! Much like her appearance, her voice is cute, slender. Her hair is long, wavy and held up with a red ribbon in an elegant manner. Compare to her male version, Vil lets her speak with her accent because it is one of her charm assets. Her face is decorated with delicate freckles. Is quite skinny with a tiny bit of shape but not a lot (let's say she has a lot more than Riddle). Epel is a little smaller than the male Epel, but not much.
Silver: She is the equivalent of Disney Princess Aurora. Except that, unlike, even if she falls asleep anywhere, she doesn't need a knight to protect her, she is her own knight! Remain a formidable swordsman! In spite of everything, remains someone calm and taciturn, very easygoing. She is very fond of animals and as they naturally flock to her, she is very happy about this fact. Wear her hair up to the shoulders and tie it in a ponytail for practice. She has a fairly toned body, but not too much. Her voice is soft and measured. She is much smaller than her male double.
Sebek: Acts hard but is so soft in the end. Looks pissed off all the time but that's just her natural expression. Wears her hair like her male version, and is the same size. Her voice carries so far, it's very impressive the first time you hear her! It is a bit sharp, but not in an unpleasant way. Carries so much esteem and respect towards Malleus, she would also like so much to be like her but she would never dare to compare herself to her! Blushes so hard and so quickly if you press the right buttons, it's so funny to see her get annoyed! Her figure is quite toned and sporty.
And finally, My MC /OC /YUU: Just like his female version, he wears round glasses, is always 150cm tall and has long wavy hair. Has fairly broad shoulders and is slightly muscular without really being so. Does everything possible to make girls feel comfortable and safe in his presence! He knows how exhausting the life and daily life of women is because of societal pressures and the male gaze. He knows that because of assholes, women are afraid of men and are afraid to even be in the same room as them, so he will do his best to ensure that she never feels that way around him! And if someone has the audacity to make one of them feel these feelings, oh boy ... that person won't last long! He was raised by his mother alone, and she taught him respect, consent and righteous values. He is an ally, so rest assured 😊😉. His voice is soft and serious (Also watching him get angry and argued in French is quite impressive! The sound of Rs in his mouth sounds even more aggressive).

Style Your Hair
Styling your hair can make you look more attractive and create a vibe. It's a great way to bring out your personality. There are many ways you can style your hair, and you should find the best style for you. Although styling your hair depends on the length and texture of it, there are many ways to accomplish a look that suits your personality.
Treating Your Hair Properly
Go easy on the shampoo or your hair will look dry. Not everyone needs to wash their hair every day. If your hair’s dry, you should wash it every 2 or 3 days. Wash it every day only if it’s greasy.
Nourish your hair to keep it shiny. If your hair is curly or has split ends, it probably needs moisture. Look for products with moisturizing ingredients like natural oils and avoid products with alcohol.
Be careful about applying too much heat to your hair. There’s almost nothing more damaging to hair than over-styling it with heat products like blow dryers, electric curlers or curling irons. No style will look good on fried hair.
Get a great cut – and the right brush or comb. If your hair is limp or doesn’t have a good cut, it’s not going to hold a style well. So it’s worth it to go to a salon every six weeks to get those split ends trimmed off. While you’re there, ask your hairdresser which brush will be best for your hair type.
Use a shampoo that fits your hair color and texture, and use conditioner, when you do wash your hair. Maybe you need creams or sprays if your hair’s too messy.
In fact, it can actually be easier to style “dirty” hair that hasn’t been washed for a couple days. It will hold curl better. Brush your hair from bottom to top so there are no knots in it before you style it.
Invest in some healing oil or hair masks to keep your hair healthy as you grow, cut, or dye your hair to reach the desired style. Instead of a conditioner, you could put a natural oil in your hair such as coconut oil or argan oil. Use it mid-lengths and down to your tips for shine and health.
If your hair is thin or lacks volume, look for products with biotin, collagen or keratin in them as these products help build hair’s thickness and keep it strong. You can also put conditioner in your hair, and then put your hair in a shower cap, and sleep with the cap on. When you take the cap off, just rinse your hair like you normally would.
Air dry the hair as much as possible to keep it healthy. If you must blow dry it, use a diffuser. This is a product that attaches to the end of a blow dryer to lessen the damage from the heat.
Use a heat protectant spray to protect your hair. Spray heat protectant on every part of the hair you want to curl. Don’t hold it too close to your head or your hair may become damp from the liquids, and you won’t be able to curl it.
There are many different shapes and bristle types that all have different effects on your hair. When starting to style the hair, be sure not to brush it too much. Brushing can cause frizz or even damage hair. Instead, try to use a wide tooth comb. They tend to be easier on the hair.
Layered cuts will bring out natural curl. If you’re looking for straight hair, wear your hair longer. Be aware that shorter cuts can be tough with very curly hair. If you’re a man, you can’t expect gel to fix everything. You need a decent haircut. For women, with long hair, this is especially true if you want your hair to look styled and not stringy.
Picking a Style
Consult experts to get a better idea of which style works for you. There are people who are trained in styling hair. Why try to figure it out yourself? Consult someone who’s an expert. If you can’t afford to – go online. The Internet is a great place to find tutorials for every kind of hairstyle imaginable.
Study a range of styles before you pick one. Think about all of the hairstyles you admire, and gather photos of them. Narrow these down to three styles you would really love to try, while matching them to styles that look good for your face shape and work with your lifestyle (longer hair takes more care).
Know your hair texture and length. Knowing the thickness, length texture, and growth rate of your hair can help you determine which styles are practical. Above shoulder length hair is usually considered short, and medium hair is generally at your shoulder to a bit down your back. Long is anything below that.
Have a good sense of your own personality. Trying to copy every single new hair style fad out there is not the best idea. You need to pick a style that suits your personality and circumstance. There are many styles you could choose from, including braids, waves, short, permanent, dreadlocks, half shaved, designed or highlights.
Figure out your face shape, so you pick a style that flatters you. Every style isn't going to look good on every face. That's the bottom line. So you need to figure out what looks best with your own shape.
Experiment with non-permanent options. It’s a good idea to test out styles you like before you go for a more permanent option, so you can take some photos and see how they look.
Get help from a hairdresser or stylist. These are professionals who will style your hair and explain to you how to do it on your own. Ask your local salon whether they have hair stylists who will give you lessons on styling your hair.
If you need your hair styled for a big event such as a prom or a wedding, consider having your hair done professionally. If that’s not an option, practice before the big day so you have a feel for how it’s done.
Check out You Tube tutorials or websites. Just go to You Tube and search for the hairstyle you want. There are many how-to videos that will walk you through how to get a certain look.
Do you appreciate highlights or unnatural colors? Do you prefer a certain length? What color do you want? Single out celebrities with hair that’s wavy like yours or who have a face as round as yours as this will allow you to preview how the style will look on you.
Get feedback. Ask your friends, hairdresser, and family members about their opinions on your style ideas. It is your hair and your style, but they may offer up ideas you hadn’t thought of or suggestions for keeping your style appropriate. Mix it up. Try not to fall into the rut of always wearing your hair up or always wearing your hair down.
You should be able to tell your hair thickness just by looking and feeling it, but there are basically 2 hair thickness categories – fine or thick. Do you have straight, curly or wavy hair naturally?
If you have short hair, then you can do tight curls, cute crimps, and adorable accessorizing. For medium hair, you can do braids, and curls/waves/crimps/straightening, buns, ponytails. For long hair, you can do pretty much anything.
First of all, know yourself. Look into the mirror and ask what kind of person you want to be. Always select your dress first too. Consider your work circumstances. Does the style match the work environment?
It’s often a good idea to work with what you have naturally to accentuate your beauty. Straightening curly hair or curling straight hair every day can damage your hair, and it’s a lot of work.
To determine your face shape, look in the mirror, and draw an outline of your face on the mirror with lipstick. Then, look at the shape and decide what shape it looks most like. Heart-shaped faces, for example, don’t work as well with short hair but do look good with the hair pulled back. If you have a square face, you want to stick to cuts that highlight your cheekbones, and soften your chin, like layers starting from the bottom of your ears down to your shoulders.
If your face is particularly bell shaped, but the top half is smaller, then you want to avoid bangs and short haircuts. If your ears are particularly big, you might want to consider growing your hair out long. If you have a large forehead, some bangs on your face or a side parting are a good idea. Oval faces can go with pretty much any hairstyle but if you have stronger features, like a rectangle or diamond face shape, you may want softer lines to soften your look.
A tight ponytail or slicked-back style might not be a good idea if you're insecure about your forehead or face shape. Bangs can be ideal to shape a face, whether straight or slanted. A bob line can elongate your neck. A bun can be very sophisticated, along with other up-dos. A ponytail can be carefree, fun and young.
For example, try a curling iron a few times before getting a permanent. You could even put on a wig to see how you look with a color or a look.
Use temporary hair dye before going to the salon, and try bang clip ins or hair extensions before taking scissors to your hair or growing it out.
You can find many free websites online that will allow you to upload a photo of yourself and try different hairstyles on it, to test out how they look. Consider the type of message you want people to get when they look at you. A good natural look says you’re easy going. If you want to look like a rebel, you can use color for effect or even shave part of your hair.
Achieving the Look
Use products to shape your hair. Some examples of hair shaping products are hair wax or mousse. To make your hair more manageable use products such as curl control or de frizzing serums for curly hair, volumizers for thin hair, or hair spray.
Don’t make your hair too stiff or over-styled. People – guys and girls – both like hair they can run their fingers through. So you want soft touchable hair that is not too crispy or greasy. Use the right products, and use them minimally.
Bring out natural wave. If your hair already has a little natural wave to it, a great way to style it is to simply bring out and enhance that already existing curl. For more beachy curls, try working a sea-salt spray into your hair after misting it over. This creates great texture, and a natural soft wave.
Curl your hair to give it some bounce. There are different kinds of heat you can use – a flat iron, a curling iron, or Velcro or electric rollers. Sometimes you do need to apply heat to get some curls.
Try a bun or braids. These are quick options that give you hair a little more style and class. They are also pretty easy to do.
Put your hair up with creative styles. A simple style for thin hair is leaving the hair down, taking the two front pieces, and tying them in the back. Adding a flower crown gives the style a very indie-hippie feel. Curling the hair in this style looks nice if heat protectant is accessible.
Give your hair more volume. Although you should watch the amount of heat you regularly direct toward your hair, there are times you might want to turn to a blow dryer to give your hair more volume.
Dry shampoo is your best friend. Use it for volume and texture or as a cover up for oily hair or roots if it matches your colored hair.
Buy good products, not the cheapest thing you can find in a grocery store. The difference will be in the finish, the feel, and the smell. Don’t put too much product in because that can lead to the hair appearing oily. Focus on the strands of the hair, rather than the top of the head. Try to distribute the product evenly by dividing the hair into sections.
Try Make Hair Accessories. Hair bands look really good with short hair! Use a chunky headband to hide 2nd-day grease or unruly bangs. You could also use a clip or ribbon to dress up a ponytail or bun.
Use a high-quality wax. The best way to style your hair is to use a good quality wax - take a small amount and heat slightly by rubbing your palms together. Then, make sure you get it in all of your hair before styling into position.
For men, to create a look that is bit spiky or chaotic consider using a wax or gel that won’t harden your hair and make it look more natural. If you’re a man, squirt some on your hands, spread it around, apply it all over your hair, then work it in with an upward motion, as if you are trying to send your hair to the center of your head. The spikes form on their own from you pushing the hair up. Work in the wax like a setter, and fluff it up.
After you get out of the shower with freshly shampooed hair, dry the hair and apply mousse. Be sure not to use too much. Flip your head over and apply the mousse upside down and scrunch, scrunch, scrunch.
Then let hair dry naturally for 30 minutes to an hour. Finish up with a blow dryer on low speed and cool air. If your hair is heavy and doesn't hold curl well, after the blow drying, scrunch and tease the roots while your hair is upside down.
Apply hairspray. Blow dry the hairspray, low speed, cool temperature. Flip your hair over and enjoy!!
To flat iron, apply heat protectant. If you have thick hair, separate your hair into two layers and do each individually. Don’t grab more than an inch of hair, and be careful not to burn yourself.
To use a round curling iron, use heat protectant. Alternate directions of curl or have all of them go the same way (inwards or outwards). Make sure all your hair is swept back over your shoulders, and resting on your back. As you make each curl, you should move them to the front of your shoulders to keep them separated from the rest of your hair. If you have long hair, you should be taking about one-inch sections and winding them around the curler neatly, without overlapping.
Never curl wet hair with a hot curler, as it’s extremely damaging to the hair. Next, split your hair into sections. Depending on how thick your hair is, you may need anywhere from 2 to 6 sections. Leave a section of the hair down at a time, and pin the rest of it on top of your head. The shorter your hair, the bigger sections you can take. If you would like springier curls, leave it for 10-12 seconds. For more wavy or loose curls, leave it for 8 to 10 sections. These are just approximations, as everyone’s hair is different.
When braiding, split the hair into three sections, and put the left over the middle, pull tight, put the right over the middle, pull tight, put the left over the middle, pull tight, etc. until you can’t anymore.
To create a quick and easy bun, you will need 2 ponytail holders, a bobby pin, and a brush. Make one ponytail, and then grab your hair and twist it like a twister. Then, take the other ponytail holder and wrap it around the bun, and then clip the bobby pin in the middle.
A simple style for thick hair is a half up, half down look. It’s achievable by putting half of the hair up in a ponytail, and leaving the rest down. If there are bangs, then leaving them down can give out cute vibes.
A simple style for curly or wavy hair is the up-under ponytail. All it consists of is picking up half of the hair, putting it up, and then making another ponytail under it. This makes the hair appear longer and fuller. Adding a bandanna or headband piece fancies the style up.
When blow drying your hair, add about a palm full of volumizing mousse and work this into the roots of your hair all over, and then bring it to the roots, scrunching it up as you go. Then, blow dry your hair upside down for more volume, continuously scrunching your ends to the roots as you blow dry.
Add a bit of hairspray to the roots while upside down to keep the volume you just created throughout the day. Try a tangle teaser for an easier brush and added shine. Finish with some hair oil to add shine and dimension to your hair.
For girls with straight hair who want wavy hair, shower, shampoo and condition as usual. Towel dry hair so that it is damp, and then put tt in a bun at the top of your head. Go to sleep and you should wake up with nice volume.
For girls with wavy frizzy hair. Keep a dehumidifier in your room, and keep it cold. Shower at least 2 hours prior to when you plan on sleeping so that your hair can be completely dry when you go to sleep.
Tips
Apply hairspray to keep the style in place. Everyone’s hair is different. Those with finer hair will probably need much more hairspray than those with coarser hair. If you have fine hair, you should spray each curl with hairspray right away.
Try to find a haircut that makes styling easy or avoid over-styling your hair.
Don't wash your hair too often. You are stripping your hairs oils so it replaces it again, faster. Instead wash your hair 3 times a week or so to keep your hair from becoming greasy. Many people claim that hair is easier to style when it hasn't been washed for a day.
Change your pillowcase often to prevent greasy hair.
Buy a silk pillow case to sleep on. This helps prevent frizz if you have curly hair.
If your hair is a bit greasy, you can try dry shampoo.

Into the Shadows: Chapter One
I stared idly at the flat, gray skies waiting for Natasha by our favorite weeping willow in the courtyard, its green sweeping leaves the only splash of color in a sea of grays and browns. Whole school years had come and gone, but the two of us still met every morning in the same spot, at the same time, before the bell rang; I liked the tradition. Thick fog wound around the students filling the small, square dirt field, the grass trampled long ago. I loved the fog and the wind and the overcast, gray skies. If I breathed in just a little deeper, I swear I could smell the fall; the decaying leaves, the hint of chill forming in the air, signaling for the winter to follow close at its heels. The wind picked up my wavy, brown hair then, swirling it around my shoulders, as if to thank me for acknowledging it. I neatly tucked it back behind my ears and instinctively hugged my soft, red jacket closer to my body. It was far too early for the September sun to break through the grey yet, but I knew in a few hours the leaves would be alight with my favorite green-gold.
“Hey,” Natasha called, her freckled face cracking into a huge grin. My smile answered automatically.
“Hey,” I replied, switching my thoughts to the first day of school.
“I’m so excited! Especially for Advanced Placement Psychology,” Natasha chimed happily, her brown eyes lighting with excitement. I always teased her because her brown eyes were the exact shade of brown as the freckles that speckled her face and body. She did not particularly like such facts being pointed out to her, and I could picture the exact dark scowl she would pull her face down into at the mere mention of such subjects. Something was off about her appearance; it took me a moment to place it. Her usual long locks had been sheared off to above her shoulders, in what I knew was a last-minute decision to start off this school year different than all the others. Despite her tireless attempts at straightening the ridiculous curls every morning, the wind seemed to take great delight in ruining it her first step out the door.
“I know,” I replied with a groan, “You’ve said so at least every minute since school let out last year.”
“I know, I know, but still it’s going to be great!” she enthused, practically bouncing in place. I rolled my eyes.
“I like your haircut by the way,” I smiled. If I responded more than a few sentences before acknowledging such a crucial change, I certainly would suffer for it later.
She smiled, knowing my thoughts without me having to say them. “Thank you,” she said, touching the curls self-consciously. Shortly after catching up with our other friends in the courtyard, the bell rang. All of us seasoned citizens of this school, no one jumped, we merely begrudgingly separated off toward class, roused by the unseen compulsion.
I pulled a folded piece of paper from my jeans pocket and remembered my first period to be Acting 1 with Mrs. Robertson. Acting wasn’t particularly interesting or my cup of tea, but I couldn’t get Ceramics 1 with my schedule so I was forced to have Acting as my fine art credit. Mrs. Robertson was one of my teachers freshmen year, she loved me; this class would be a breeze.
I weaved easily through the crowd of students filing into the school and made my way up the stairs to Mrs. Robertson’s room; being petite and short had its advantages at times. Bright, sentimental posters plastering the walls and desks paired in twos greeted me upon entering Mrs. Robertson’s room. It was like something out of kindergarten. I barely concealed my cringe. Mrs. Robertson stood at the front of the classroom in a blinding yellow sundress writing “Welcome Students!” on the whiteboard in careful cursive. The few students who milled around the room I recognized, this was not surprising, our high school being small and suburban.
“Hello, Kristin, it’s nice to see you again this year,” Mrs. Robertson greeted me cheerily. She hadn’t changed at all in the three years since I last had her class last. Her blonde hair lay neatly in short layers tucked behind her ears, bright blue eyes still holding a smile for everyone, and a stature almost impossibly smaller than even mine somehow. It always bothered me how eerily happy and cheerful she was. I tried not to stare directly at her, it kind of felt like looking at the sun with her exuberant attitude and too bright dress.
“You too, Mrs. Robertson,” I replied with a smile, portraying none of my true feelings. I walked over to a desk and took a seat.
“Oh, I’m giving you seats in alphabetical order when the bell rings. Just stand at the back wall until we are ready,” Mrs. Robertson ordered me brightly. I did as she said, stifling a sigh. I watched the other students pour into the classroom and line up beside me after much prodding from Mrs. Robertson. She had almost no authority with the other students because she didn’t like to be stern, it was a rare event when a student actually listened to her.
“Alright class, please line up against the wall. I’m giving you assigned seats in alphabetical order,” Mrs. Robertson called, her cheerful voice never faltering. I leaned against the back wall, waiting for her to control the class and call my name.
“Ryder Grim, Kristin Hart,” She called several minutes later, having finally made some progress towards conducting a classroom. I walked to the pair of desks she stood beside and took the one she pointed to. The intense stares of my classmates weighed on me, heavy and palpable. I resisted the urge to bury myself right then and there. A guy sat in the other desk beside me. I didn’t recognize the name. Strange, thanks to Natasha’s insufferable curiosity I thought I knew all the seniors at this school. I peered at Ryder from the corner of my eye, using a thin veil of wavy brown hair to hide my gaze. His jet-black hair was gelled and stylishly tousled, almost long enough to hang in his eyes, which were the brightest green I had ever seen. Coupled with snow white, flawless skin and wiry muscles, he was quite a sight, even more so because I realized I really didn’t recognize him at all.
“Kristin, this is Ryder, he’s new to our school this year, please be a dear and help him out,” Mrs. Robertson instructed, standing over my desk. I nodded obediently, and with a merry smile she returned to calling out names and assigning desks. Relief swallowed me as attention gradually shifted away from us again. I guess that explained things at least. A pang of pity sliced through me unexpectedly. All my awkward, lonely past first days of school as the new kid in town suddenly flashed behind my eyes. I turned to Ryder, determined to be welcoming, despite my usual shyness.
“I’m Kristin, it’s nice to meet you,” I introduced politely.
“Ryder, pleasure,” He said curtly, his words harsh and clipped as if meeting me was absolutely the worst ordeal in the world. A flicker of surprise skipped through me, followed by an unwanted wave of rejection. I didn’t often go out of my way to reach out to others, and I certainly wasn’t expecting such a vehement response to a usually harmless gesture. He kept his stony, bright green eyes forward without even a glance in my direction. I worked to bite my sharp tongue and resist the urge to say something that would force him to turn to look at me, my instinct being to lash out with the hurt.
“Well you seem nice,” I retorted sarcastically, half to myself. Well, at least I tried.
“I do my best,” He sneered coldly. I rolled my eyes and focused on class until the bell chimed again, refusing to engage him further. Now I could have a whole new reason to dread this class every morning.
The class passed quicker than I expected; much to my delight. Most of the class period was wasted assigning seats and getting students to behave, the rest was spent just going over the syllabus, rules, and future class assignments; generic first day business. Ryder’s presence nagged at me through the entirety of the period, like a fly relishing in buzzing specifically in my ear. The bell rang. I jumped from my seat and fled to the hall, eager to retreat from my icy partner, the tangible tension between us was beginning to suffocate me towards the end.
“Your partner seems super friendly,” A breathy voice called from behind me. I turned to see a short, plump girl with short black hair and a sweet smile.
“Oh hey, Katy, I didn’t even see you, we have Acting together?” I asked, slowing my stride to wait up for her. Katy’s smiled beamed at me from her round face, as always. She was the sweetest girl, kind to everyone, it was easy to quickly become her friend.
“Yes,” She replied happily, almost childlike.
“I’m so glad we have classes together this year too. I feel like I didn’t see you nearly enough this summer,” I commented with genuine pleasure. Katy wasn’t my best friend like Natasha or anything, but she had always been kind to me when Natasha and I got in a riff or when we shared classes in past school years. She let her layered black hair fall in her face as she asked to see my schedule. I pulled my schedule from my pocket again to compare, discovering Katy and I shared only one other class.
“So who was that guy?” asked Katy, round cheeks turning bright red.
“Ryder? I don’t know, he only said two words to me the whole class. He was pretty rude, actually,” I answered with a shrug.
“That’s so weird, but he was seriously hot,” She admitted, grinning wildly and nudging my arm.
I gave her a wry smile before replying, “Do not even think about it.”
“Oh, come on! It’s been forever since you dated anyone! Eighth grade to be exact.” Katy prodded, wagging her eyebrows at me.
I laughed, “Yes and I plan to keep it that way for a while longer. Ryder is a rude jerk and I’d consider myself lucky if I never had anything to do with him again! Besides, I’m headed off to college after this year, why would I want to start a relationship now?”
“You’re so critical, maybe he’s just...shy? He is new this year” She replied, always coming to the defense of others.
“Yeah, I sincerely doubt it. If it makes you feel better, I’ll see what Natasha knows about him,” I supplied, sneakily negotiating an escape. Katy’s grin collapsed and her full, pink lips pulled down. I sighed.
“I really wish you and Natasha would just get along,” I said, shaking my head, but secretly happy for the redirection of conversation.
Katy snorted, “Unlikely.”
I rounded the corner approaching my class and Katy waved goodbye as she headed in the opposite direction to her next period. Just as I reached my next class, I noticed Ryder standing in the hall with his schedule in one hand and a map in the other. He twisted the map around and furrowed his brows; if he stared at the paper any more intently it would just spontaneously combust.
I sighed and approached him, silently cursing my better nature. “What class are you going to?” I asked, just barely attempting civility. I was a sucker for people in need, even for rude jerks that made bad first impressions. Doesn’t everyone deserve a second chance?
He jumped and turned to me. He was even more handsome when I stared at him directly. The paleness of his skin was striking against such dark black hair and his green eyes were practically luminescent. I quickly pushed that thought from my mind, not even wanting to admit it’d skidded through.
“Look, I don’t need your help, I can get around on my own,” He replied stonily.
“What is your problem? I’m trying to help you! Why do you have to be so stubborn?!” I practically yelled, my temper flaring sharply. I snatched the schedule and map from his hand. I angled the map the right way and shoved it back at him.
“Your next class is down the hall, third door on the right,” I fumed, relinquishing the schedule to him before turning sharply on my heel and stalking angrily to class. I should have just let him wonder lost, maybe he would have left, I half wished silently.
I didn’t understand quite why I hated Ryder Grim so much already, especially when it was quite a feat to even make me angry, let alone produce hate. Perhaps it was the stubborn way he refused help or the insolent way he directed his every word in the direction of others. I liked to think I was above being hurt by his rejection at my attempt to be friendly to the new kid. It might even be jealousy at his utter perfection compared to my awkward, clumsy mannerisms. Regardless, he made my skin heat, my muscles itch to hit him, and more than anything, he made me not want to be within a ten-mile radius of him. I tried to simmer down and feign indifference, but I knew myself better.
Besides that incident, I refused to allow my mind to recollect the boiling irritation of earlier, the rest of the day passed rather easily. We did all the usual first day of school nonsense. AP Government followed into Calculus which turned into AP Literature then Lunch trailed by Teacher Assisting to AP Chemistry, and finally my long-awaited AP Psychology. A teacher named Sinclair taught AP Psychology, I had had a class of his every year since I started high school, as had Natasha; he was the best teacher on campus and everyone’s favorite.
I barely saw Ryder after first period, I let out a silent thank you to whoever was listening for that small stroke of luck. He was in my Chemistry class, but I sat as far away from him as the classroom would allow. Every time I saw him, I just got more and more steamed until even his name made me want to spit fire.
I rushed for Sinclair’s class just in time to see Natasha practically dance through the door. I had only really seen Natasha in between classes. Natasha was in my AP Government class and this class, but that was it, not including lunch. Most teachers knew well enough now to separate us, or she would talk all through class. I followed her inside and we took our usual seats beside each other. Sinclair was different, there was an unspoken expectation in his classroom that not even Natasha dared challenge. We caught up with each other and asked about how school had gone so far, both of us had good things to report and I had all but forgotten my early morning encounter with Ryder. Unfortunately, the next time I glanced up he was walking briskly across the classroom and took a seat at the very back.
I was careful to compose myself around Natasha, lest I give away my true displeasure, but she was too quick and knew me too well.
“I see you’ve met the newest addition to our campus already,” Natasha mused, seeing right through me.
“Ugh! Not him again,” I groaned, not hesitating to unleash the true force of my annoyance from this morning now that I was discovered. I hastily recapped the events of the morning for her benefit.
Natasha laughed. “Wow, you hate someone already and it’s just the first day of school, you’ve learned so well from me,” she beamed with pride.
I shook my head, “Please, he’s just another stupid, immature boy to add to the already overly healthy collection at this school,” I muttered, stealing a glance in his direction at the back of the room. He sat perfectly straight and barely moving, looking very much like a statue.
The late bell rang then, and Sinclair swept into the classroom with a brain in his hand. A fake brain, of course. Sinclair always rolled into class just as the late bell rang with some mysterious prop which our lesson for the day would focus on. It’s why everyone loved his class, he kept things interesting and didn’t waste time on stupid things like a syllabus or rules. That, and, in a lot of ways, he was kind of like a kid himself.
“My name is Sinclair. Not Mr. Sinclair, that was my father’s name, just Sinclair or sir. The rules are: no cell phones, don’t talk while I’m talking, and do as I tell you. Follow the rules and we’ll have lots of fun, break the rules and your life in this class will be hell,” Sinclair explained in a stern, booming voice. New kids would be fooled by this strict façade, although Sinclair knew how to control a classroom, he loved all his students and made everything very fun. He gave the same introduction at the beginning of every year. “I gave you all a syllabus at orientation, I’m not going to waste time going over it with you, you can all read by now I hope,” he continued, several repeat students of his, like Natasha and I, laughed, “Today, we’re going to talk about the brain.” The rest of the class he showed us diagrams and models of the brain explaining each part and its role, it was all very fascinating. Natasha ate up every word and took notes. I’d never seen her so motivated. Sinclair had that strange effect on his students, no one wanted to disappoint him because no one could be disappointed in quite the same way Sinclair could be disappointed in you. Class passed quicker than I would have liked, at the last ten minutes he had us break off into groups to become more familiar with the brain models.
“You know that guy you were talking about earlier? Ryder Grim? I heard about him earlier,” Natasha whispered to me as we broke apart models of the brain to peer inside. Natasha dealt in information. Every school had a rumor mill, but half of the information was false or misconceived. Natasha knew just about everything about everyone and all of it was one hundred percent true. I’m not particularly unpopular or popular, but Natasha hated about seventy-five percent of our school population and the other 24.5% was acquaintances, that last .5% was her real friends, like me. How she got all her information with that kind of social order astounded me, but I never asked, somehow, with Natasha, I was almost afraid to find out. Don’t be fooled though, she did spread a lot of information around school, but if I or anyone else told her a secret they didn’t want to get out, she would take it to her grave.
I sighed and chuckled, “Why am I not surprised?”
“Because you know me too well,” She answered with a devious smile, “Anyways, I heard he just moved here to live with his uncle, not too far from you actually. A lot of girls are already swooning over him, too. He’s in one of my classes.”
“How do you ever actually get work done with all this gossiping?” I joked, shaking my head.
“Work? What is this work you speak of?” Natasha asked in mock confusion, tilting her head so short, brown ringlets fell over her face.
I laughed, “I don’t even really care anymore, he’s just a jerk, and I’m not going to let him or anyone else bother me this year,” I vowed. The bell rang making us all jump, this time with eagerness to follow its prompting, as this bell released us home. I hoisted on my loaded down backpack and walked with Natasha to her white Prius.

Wedge haircut 2016
To fix up individual curls that are acting up, wrap a few pieces around a 3/4 inch rod iron. The best way to style this look is to use a lightweight curl product (I love sweetheart curls by L’Oréal) and diffuse with a blow dryer. With a round face, keep the front length longer than the jawline to draw the eye more up and down, and for longer face shapes, the jawline would be a perfect length. I would recommend this haircut for all face shapes. This look is nice for any curly or wavy hair because if hair is extremely thick it may get too voluminous. This short wedge haircut is for someone who wants to enhance their natural wave with a stylish haircut while keeping their regimen nice and easy. It also draws her profile up for a more flattering silhouette. Going shorter in the back and longer in the front creates major volume and movement through the back and keeps “safe” length around her face. The bold color and angled haircut enhance the wave by drawing your eye to the individual tendrils. I apply thicker highlights than I would on straight hair because curls tend to naturally blend colors together. There is surely an approach for every face shape and hair type – even for wild curls! Revamp your look with these fabulous and very in-demand short wedge haircuts! Wedges have a wide range of styles – you can go for soft and gentle layers for a feminine aura or a super short and spiky style for a funky vibe. This is a popular cut for women with fine and thin hair that needs a bulky twist or simply someone wanting to have a taste of the short hair lifestyle. All of these make up a usual wedge and can naturally enhance the density of your mane without needing too much weight! You’ll find lots of gradual layers, stacking techniques, short A-line or asymmetrical shapes, choppy cuts, blunt or wispy bangs, tapered backs. Although short wedge hairstyles are not for everyone, many women will find these haircuts refreshing. Olympic Dorothy Hamill really made this look popular. The wedge haircut is a voluminous retro-style short layered bob for women with fine & straight hair that became popular in the 1970’s.
