I was hunting for shiny Swablu (with a Flying sparkling power sandwich)

I didn't get the Swablu, but I got two other shinies...

...And neither of them were Flying type??? 😭

Am I insanely lucky or is there some glitch where the Flying sandwich boosts shiny odds for every type other than Flying (that'd be a real gen 1 kinda glitch lol 😆)

SOULSILVER BADGE QUEST SHINY #8

I named him Morsel <3 Extremely relieved to find this shiny after 14 months of hunting. Mind you this wasn’t done religiously, as I’ve been quite busy with school, but it was a long time coming nonetheless!

I’ve always been pretty flexible with my approach to shiny hunting in BQs, and Tyrogue being my target for Claire despite having already beaten Claire over a year ago is a funny example of that! And since I don’t plan on doing the Kanto part of SS in the conventional BQ way (it has taken me THREE YEARS to get to this point and I need to be reasonable), this should be the final member of the SS BQ!

I might hunt a quick MM Magby before though to cover Kanto and because I really want a shiny Magmortar in 4th gen. Maybe.

Ty usually gets scared of ghosts when he gets near them but for Adir, he honestly gives zero sh-- I mean doesn't even care about them anyway. This shiny's never seen a ghost before but shockingly he never gets scared of them.

I’m finally on Fall Break for the week, so I’m aggressively editing, retconning, and updating my Pokémon fic!

Some of the eagle eyed amongst you have noticed that including my previous post… Emi doesn’t have a starter! I haven’t written the intro to her starter as of the release of this post, so her starter will be a separate post!

I also put the same disclaimer in all 3 of the trainers’ ref sheets, so if you’ve read one, you’ve read them all. But just in case, I’ll transcribe it here;

Luna finally has the Itemfinder Mark. Now all my base game aces have it but I haven’t got it on Pip (who’s now retired as an ace because I’m not kicking Luna and Knight out their respective parties because they’re too iconic) and probably won’t get it on Turt before he gets kicked out to make space for a Gouging Fire and a Raging Bolt. Oh yeah also on my birthday I got a Turtwig (now a Torterra) with the Destiny Mark in Violet and I wanted to post the screenshot of that at the same time but I think I just deleted it bc I have no space for photos on my Switch

Turns out if you evolve your Pokémon in front of an NPC who wants to battle you you can see their dialogue

Speaking of evolution, I got a Hitmonchan recently and just caught a Tyrogue I evolved into a Hitmonlee so I guess I should evolve Rogue into a Hitmontop. I checked and his Attack and Defense stats were equal so he should evolve nicely into a Hitmontop as planned and there’s no way this could go wrong
