I still often wonder why Fubuki had to describe their hand holding like that to Kurumi.

Hello! I was wondering if I could request some bleach fluff?
Could I please have grimmjow being jealous of an Arrancar! Reader who is quite friendly and affectionate towards others? Like, they used to hold Nel in her child form ( and later gets many hugs from her), patted Ichigo on the head and so on?
Thank you!
He never thought this would happen. Fighting on the side of those shitty Shinigami, but here he was. Grimmjow almost had to laugh.
How desperate and weak these idiots must be to have to rely on their mortal enemy to save them. With their heads held so high, they must not have been able to see the shit storm coming, which made it all the sweeter when they reached out to his kind. The glee in his heart at their begging almost as exhilarating as Grimmjow’s thrill of killing these pathetic Quincy.
His blade cut down another one, their blood spraying over him in a maddening sort of mist, as he turned to look at [Y/N]. A part of him hoping they had been watching and was proud of him. Proud of how strong he had become. Proud of how even their enemies recognized his strength now. Proud to be his.
“Wow Nell-sama! That’s incredible!” [Y/N] cheered with a tiny little clap at the diminutive Arrancar’s shadow puppets. “It looks just like Gillian. You’re right!”
“What the hell?!” Grimmjow growled at [Y/N] and Nell, both stopping to look at him in confusion. “I’m out here fighting for my life, and you’re making shadow puppets!”
“But…Nell-sama wanted to show me how much she’s improved….”
“Yeah Grimm-Grimm! I’m real good now!”
Grimmjow growled again and stormed off across the battlefield. “Wait Grimmjow! Are you really upset?”
“Yes!” He barked. “I’m going all the work and you’re playing around!”
“But you said you wanted to fight all the Quincy on your own. I thought this was what you wanted.”
“I did want to fight them but not completely alone.” He wanted to fight by [Y/N]’s side. Their bond….their body…it wasn’t fair that their attention was split between him and others. “I thought you would at least try to help me and—put that little moron down!!”
Nell started to cry in [Y/N]’s arm. Calling him a bully. “Don’t yell at her Grimmjow. She’s just a little girl.”
“She’s old then you!” He reminded her.
Grimmjow growled again and stalked off. Finding a more remote portion of the battlefield to sulk amongst the wasteland. “You’re really mad, hn?” He looked up at [Y/N] standing their beside him. Alone. They could always seem to find him. “You were having so much fun though.”
“How would you know.” He muttered. “You were just playing with Nelliel Tu.”
“I was watching you know.” They sit beside him on the rumble. Grimmjow doesn’t try to stop them. “You looked so happy. Bloody and brilliant. Those stupid humans, Quincy though they may be, are no match for you, my heart.” Grimmjow shrugged his shoulder away when they leaned into him but did not move away. He wanted to touch them back, but he was still annoyed. “I thought you were having fun, so I didn’t want to interrupt.”
“It would have been more fun with you.” He muttered. Annoyingly glancing at them out of the corner of his eye. “It’s no fun to play on my own anymore.”
[Y/N] smiled at him, then took his hand. They leaned in like they were coming in for a kiss, but instead licked the blood from his cheek. “It’s no fun without you either.” They confess. Eyes bright. Grimmjow felt his heart pounding.
[Y/N] stood and offered him their hand. “Nell is entertained on her own now. What do you say we go find some more people to kill, together.”
Grimmjow grinned wildly and leapt to his feet. Already excited. “Those fools don’t stand a chance.” He preened, and raced off to a new battlefield with his love to dance their dance of death upon some new soon to be corpses.

Catch Kira, NOT Feelings! Ch. 3
L x Fem!Reader
Previous Part | Next -> coming soon
Word Count: 7k (hehe)
Tags: slow burn, oblivious, colleagues to lovers?, jealous! L, mentions of arousal, Lawliet POV at end, phone sex?, male erection, masturbation [male receiving], mentioning of female anatomy, MDNI, 18+
Synopsis: You continue the meeting as planed and can't help but wonder how you feel about Ryuzaki. With a brief time skip and another meeting ending in an argument, L can't help the strange feeling that's growing in his chest... and in his pants ;)
Masterlist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The meeting continues as planned, this time with Light in attendance, and the group discusses the remaining entries in the ‘Second Kira’s Notebook’. Avoiding Aoyama for the time being, Ryuzaki shifts the attention to the Tokyo Dome game mentioned within the page and proposes for Watari to cancel the event and let the police investigate.
You sit on the couch uncomfortably, unsure if it’s the strange feeling brewing in your chest from your encounter with Ryuzaki or simply a side effect of chasing down a mass murderer who might just be your friend. Light at your side, you keep your attention on the TV as best as you can given the circumstances.
“In this note we can see the Second Kira mentioning Shinigami at the Tokyo Dome…”
Mogi points to the note on the screen and the group nods in agreement, reviewing their own papers and documents for the upcoming events at the arena. Shifting slightly, you resolve to reach forward and grab one of the to-go coffee cups, deciding caffeine might be what you need at this moment.
“Here, let me–” Light leans forward before you can reach the table and picks up two sugar packets as well, “–you’ve had a long day of classes.”
You watch him for a moment before sighing, “So have you though..”
“I guess that’s true… Just let me do this, okay?”
Light laughs gently at how quickly you sit back and let him make your coffee; remembering the way you always drink it with two sugars. Deftly popping off the lid and pouring in the contents of the packets, Light lets steam emit from the cup before gently passing it to you.
“Careful, ok? Wouldn’t want our newest recruit getting out of the task force from some coffee burns.”
“Shut up..” you nudge Light gently enough to not spill the contents and lean down to whisper, “asshole” just out of earshot of his father.
Taking the cup and hovering your lips just above the paper rim, you blow the steam back a few times before taking a sip. Throughout the whole exchange Mogi and Matsuda have been conversing about the Tokyo Dome events schedule while Mr. Yagami and Aizawa discuss alerting the arena security and increasing the police presence in the area. Ryuzaki sits watching all three interactions taking place but his eyes linger on the way Light holds himself around you.
It makes rational sense, the both of you being well acquainted through years of working for his father, though the interaction leaves L shifting in his seat. The smile on Light’s face is natural, with creases in his eyes as he leans in to make another snarky remark in your ear; the simplicity of it all is what leaves such a sour taste he’s unable to recall in Ryuzaki’s mouth.
“Maybe now you won’t look half asleep during the meeting.”
You take a long sip of coffee and gently kick Light’s shin from next to you on the hotel couch, eyes narrowed at his hushed joke.
“I’m not tired.”
“Hmm? Then why do you look like that?”
Like what?
You move the cup from your lips and shiver as the warm beverage slides down your throat, eyebrows furrowed at Light in confusion before your gaze locks onto Ryuzaki’s. It’s a short connection before you break away feeling as ice had been dumped down your back; from the corner of your eyes you can tell he’s been staring and will continue to.
“Let’s focus, ok?”
Mr. Yagami stands and pats Mogi’s shoulder, taking control of the remote and now playing the entire diary’s image once more.
“This,” he points to the Tokyo Dome phrase once more. “A shinigami? I believe this may be an important reference we cannot overlook. It’s obviously an omen regarding death.. But can we be certain Tokyo Dome is the target for this? Both districts of Aoyama and Shibuya were mentioned in this..”
The group looks amongst themselves and you turn back to L, watching as he bites the edge of a hangnail on his index finger in thought. Aoyama and the notebooks weren’t supposed to be mentioned for the time being, not until Ryuzaki had deemed it absolutely necessary to inform the rest of the task force of the plan.
“For now, yes.” L sits forward and now reaches for a small plate covered in bite-sized fruit tarts “Watari, send a message to the head of the arena’s security to inform them of a potential terrorist attack.”
Light sits up from the sofa and turns to the man “Shouldn’t we be investigating all of these claims, Ryuzaki? I agree the Tokyo Dome one is important, but it’s way too obvious… we can’t miss this opportunity to catch the Second Kira.”
His tone is chill and sobering, and you lock eyes with L once more to confirm you were going to keep silent for the time being.
“I agree. If we let the Second Kira slip through our fingers and decimate an entire district it would be catastrophic.” Ryuzaki sits back and looks at the entire group, scanning each face. “We’re going to publish this diary on Sakura TV.”
“What?” Mr. Yagami steps forward with an incredulous shock on his face, “If we publish this, people will react with pandemonium. They’ll live with fear!”
“No– it’s to give each of the local police departments enough time to increase their presence in their respective neighborhoods. Not to mention, give us enough liability to install additional measures.”
Aizawa stares at L in suspicion. “Additional measures? What do you mean?”
“We can’t install additional CCTV without approval and reasonable suspicion of a threat,” L says, pointing to the television with a crumby index finger. “This is more than enough to justify that. No?”
Matsuda ‘wows’ in awe at the reasoning while Light remains motionless on the couch thinking everything through. His demeanor is cold and isolated, radiating an energy that makes you subconsciously lean into Mogi who is sitting on the other side of you on the couch.
“That’s going to take a lot of manpower, Ryuzaki. Are we equipped to do all of that in such a short time?”
“We don’t have a choice,” you chime in, placing the coffee cup on the table. “If you’d like, I can try and reach out to some old internship colleagues working in Shibuya. Try and see if any additional detectives and officers can cover districts we find more at threat?”
Mogi nods and begins mentally reviewing the list of people he knows who could also cover any gaps. “I agree. The faster we act on this, the better chance we have of catching them.”
The group nods in agreement and breaks off into smaller teams in charge of alerting local police, contacting Sakura TV to run the diary, and relaying information back to the NPA about the current plan. Mr. Yagami steps out to a connecting room to make a few phone calls while Matsuda assists Mogi in creating a copy of the diary to send to the station.
“Shouldn’t we send someone to investigate these ourselves?”
Light walks to where you and Ryuzaki have sorted all possible events at the Tokyo Dome, Aoyama, and Shibuya on the respective dates mentioned. You turn to L as do the other members, silently wondering the same thing.
“Yes, I plan on asking one or two of you to go out and attend one of these events listed…” He continues, looking steadfast at Light, “I haven’t made up my mind quite yet though. Let’s work on the current task for the time being.”
Light seems relatively unhappy with the response but doesn't push further; he walks back over to Aizawa and assists in drafting messages to different police quarters. You watch him work for a moment before turning back to Ryuzaki who continues sorting event paperwork next to you.
The proximity is nearly as close as you both were earlier in the evening, and there’s a slight tremble in your fingers at the increased heart rate in your ribs. He deftly moves and sorts papers back and forth with you, occasionally skimming your fingers with his own; the action is enough to make your ears hot.
This is ridiculous. I need to get out this weekend, have a drink, or something. He’s just L… he’s just a guy.
“I’m going to need you to keep quiet for a bit longer if that’s ok.”
“Hmm? Oh, of course.”
Continuing to work as naturally as possible, your voices are barely above a whisper to avoid unnecessary attention. The fresh scent of his laundry detergent invades your senses and is so intoxicating you nearly lean in closer to get a larger inhale.
Despite being able to work seamlessly with Light, working alongside Ryuzaki isn’t nearly as difficult as people had always alluded to. At nearly every NPA meeting and early police briefings in the Kira case, every detective you worked with scoffed at his name. ‘Unable to work with others’, ‘selfish and conceited’, ‘coldhearted and stoic’ were used more times than you can remember in regard to the man at your side.
“Here, these may need to be corroborated with the Second Kira’s tapes for syntax.” Ryuzaki gently offers you a section from the diary and transcript from the tapes. “Are you able to complete that within a few days? Or is your course schedule going to get in the way…?”
“No, I can complete it.”
You take the evidence and organize it into a pile, admiring the man just inches away from you. Not an ounce of condescenion in his voice, he gives you tasks that genuinely need to be completed and he’s decided to trust you with; taking into account your class schedule, each assignment is neither tedious nor grueling.
This is nothing like the stories you had heard, and it’s enough to make you wonder if maybe those overworked detectives at previous meetings had been complaining about someone else. The L at your side is meticulous and competitive, but the way his eyes linger on your lips when waiting for confirmation is gentle and patient.
“I’ll try and have it done in about two days. Is that ok Ryuzaki?”
“Yes,” he says, peeling his eyes up from your lips and blinking a few times before turning his attention to the documents in his own hands. “Yes, that should be perfect.”
*******
Two weeks go by seamlessly and you fall into an easy routine between classes and Kira meetings. During lunch breaks, about twice a week, you meet with Light to discuss not only topics regarding the case, but also regular life as students and 20-something-year-olds. It’s as simple as you remember it being when you first started working with his father. The settings are friendly and casual, though less intimate and honest as you remember them being; taking note every time he begins to change his behavior and what exactly was the topic that seemed to be the trigger.
Working with L has also gotten much easier over the days; Watari picks you up prior to the meeting nearly every day and Ryuzaki has memorized your schedule to call as soon as your seminar finishes to inquire about updates. You report nearly every move, answering when you’ve left home and returned, along with giving him updates on how your paperwork and investigation of Light have been progressing.
On days when classes end early and you’re at home for lunch, you find yourself stopping by the bakery near your apartment and picking up a dozen earl gray cookies on the way to meetings; remembering the way Ryuzaki seems to perk up when he sees the familiar packaging.
It almost feels inappropriate how casual you both have begun to talk to each other; frequent texting that begins to stray just a bit further than completely work related, though they never become too personal. The texts and phone calls that vibrate from the phone L had given you come everyday like clockwork, even on the days where you weren’t scheduled to meet with Light.
The routine this Tuesday afternoon is the same as the past two weeks have been: calling Ryuzaki after your evening class has ended and casually relaying a brief update if you had bumped into Light. The wind is cooler today than it has been in months; gripping your jacket tighter, you balance the cardboard wrapping of the biscuits with one finger as you huddle into yourself for warmth.
Cars pass by in varying directions as you nod to the steady beat of music playing in your headphones, waiting at the intersection for the familiar black Mercedes to pull up. The leather briefcase slung over your shoulder makes an uncomfortable weight push into the muscle, but the feeling is numbed by another gust of wind and hair being pushed into your face.
Before you can adjust the flyaways, a familiar car turns at the intersection and flicks on it’s fourway signals before pulling right up to where you stand. The window cracks. “Y/N, I’m here to escort you to headquarters.”
You giggle at the same line Watari always repeats and slide off your headphones before opening the passenger door and sliding inside. The seat warmers already on, you gently place the box of cookies on the console and sling the heavy bag off your shoulder and onto the floor at your feet.
“More cookies Y/N? You’re going to have a sweet tooth as large as Ryuzaki.”
“Nah,” you giggle and look out the window at the city lights that have flickered on being to blur by. “I don’t anyone could tie him for that.”
******
“I’m just saying if Sakura TV wants to air that ‘pro-kira’ talk show, they should at least–” Matsuda stands with his arms out to Mogi as if his companion were the one he needed to convince to get his opinion delivered, before turning to you. “Oh– Y/N!”
You slide your bag at your unspoken offical spot next to the sofa and place the small box of cookies on the table before shimmying out of your coat and smiling at the man. Watari helps you glide it off your other arm before retrieving a hanger and placing it in the small coat closet next to the door as you greet everyone in the room.
Ryuzaki is already sitting in his usual spot and watches you intently as you make your rounds before plopping onto the couch in between Mogi and Light; his gaze lingers on the small box of tea-flavor cookies.
“Did you ever take ‘Intro to Criminal Psyche’ in undergrad?”
You turn to Light and raise an eyebrow. “Yea, why?”
“Mmm, I’ve been thinking of missing a few classes to work on the task force assignments a bit more. If you have the notes from when you took it, I’m sure that would suffice to replace the material I miss.”
You laugh and nudge him, “Wow, ditching class? The number-one student I know has a rebellious side to him after all.”
Light laughs, though the sound is partially empty of genuine humor. “Of course~, though if it makes you uncomfortable, I’ll just have to actually attend.”
“Let me check my files,” you said, looking over at his dad, who is shaking his head with a sigh from the conversation, “If I still have them saved, you’re more than welcome.”
The moment Light puts his hand on your shoulder in gratitude, the unfamiliar ugly feeling inside Ryuzaki’s gut begins to grow again. His chest is tight with a frustration he couldn’t quite pinpoint, as if the scene in front of him was wrong; similar to a movie spinoff of a book that wasn’t following the plot correctly.
Ryuzaki takes a breath, it doesn’t bother him, it shouldn’t bother him, before turning to the now total members present at the meeting. “Alright, now that Y/N is here, we can continue.”
The group quiets down and Aizawa stands up, holding a variety of documents and reading through them in summary. “Well the DNA procurement is experiencing some delays; with nearly every available agent and officer dispatched to the Second Kira diary locations, the lab is running on a time lag.”
You hum and turn to Watari to take a coffee from the tray he brings around, not bothering to reach for sugar as he’s been preparing it to the exact sweetness you prefer for nearly two weeks now.
“There’s also the issue of Shibuya and Aoyama.” Aizawa flips through to another page and sighs, “We’ve been able to dispatch any colleagues Y/N knows around the Shibuya main entry points, but Aoyama is still more understaffed than I think it should be.”
“Even if we agreed Tokyo Dome was the priority?” Matsuda questions.
“Mr. Yagami, have all the CCTV we’ve requested been installed within the district's limits already?”
Mr. Yagami turns to Ryuzaki and scans through a few documents before nodding, “Yes, they’ve been successfully placed in all the main access points and intersections you’ve requested. Local police also confirm increased presence there on the days leading up to and following our recommendation.”
You turn to Ryuzaki and wonder the same question everyone has been considering for the past few weeks: who was he going to choose to send? Keeping quiet over the past two weeks wasn’t exactly easy, nearly every meeting contained Light protesting the decision to focus too heavily on the Tokyo Dome and pushing back even more when L refused to further explain his decision.
Ryuzaki takes a long moment to consider, idly placing sugar cube after sugar cube into his tea cup and not bothering to look up. A gentle breeze from the open windows pushes his hair to tickle his cheekbones and you instinctively shiver at the drop in temperature. Opening the window for fresh air was a common recurrence, but you couldn’t help but tense at the chill air that always nipped at your skin. Before Light can glance over and offer you his jacket, Watari walks over to the hotel linen closet to retrieve a throw blanket and passes it to you.
Additional stocked bedding wasn’t unusual considering the amount of times members have spent the night in the suite, but the smaller plush throw blankets that seemed to perfectly warm you back up seemed to appear only about a week ago.
“I’ve made a decision on who I want to attend Aoyama, and I want it known that if either party feels too uncomfortable, we can renegotiate.”
You lean in, similar to the rest of the members and hang on to every word. “Light, I’d like you to walk the streets of Aoyama on the date we’ve previously decided. Matsuda, please accompany him.”
What?
You stay frozen in confusion at Ryuzaki’s announcement while Mr. Yagami immediately stands up in protest.
“I’m not sending my son to the front lines! First you accuse him of being Kira and now you want him to be killed by the Second one?”
“Dad–!” Light stands up to argue with his father, “You don’t get to make that decision for me.”
I’m not going?
You look up to look at Ryuzaki who was glancing over at the two men arguing and making no effort to make eye contact with you. He sips his tea and stares indifferently at the spectacle in front of him, occasionally reaching down to grab a cookie you brought.
Despite working with him on the Aoyama plan during meeting breaks in secret, confirming through texts that Light was still unaware of said plan, and even staying later nights to work out any kinks…. he didn’t pick you.
A pang of hurt and nearly anger washes over you as the decision sinks in. The two men arguing over the coffee table now a million worlds away, an ugly feeling tightens in your chest. Had you not proven you were skilled enough to take on a challenge like this? Was all he saw in you was an errand-girl who could watch Light on campus so he didn’t have to?
You look up at Matsuda who was now trying to calm down the chief, and furrow your eyebrows into a sharp ‘V’ formation. No, even the role of babysitting Light was forfeited from you. It’s impossible to focus and the atmosphere is nearly suffocating as jealousy courses hot through your veins.
“Alright, I’d like to further explain the plan before you two go any further,” says Ryuzaki, standing up and placing one foot on the coffee table for balance to grab the remote and flip to the details of Aoyama.
“The diary entry in this event mentions meeting with friends on the streets of Aoyama, a needle in a haystack considering the population density.” He tilts his head to side and continues flipping. “However, there’s a strong chance it’ll come down to just two people: Kira and the Second Kira. At least one of which, we will assume is student age; high school or higher education.”
“So this is another example of accusing Light? Because he fits the age group demographic?”
“Mr. Yagami, please hold all your questions until I’ve finished.”
Ryuzaki takes a metal teaspoon between his lips while he talks, “Aoyama is a wealthy neighborhood and a fashion hotspot, most likely a place to be recommended by a young woman. Please keep this in mind while observing pairs of people.”
Still annoyed by the plan you helped decide on, you can’t help but notice the strange thin smile on Light’s lips as he watches the presentation unfold. Despite his father trying his hardest to prove his innocence, Light doesn’t seem the least bit stressed by the accusation; he’s nearly humming with excitement while you sulk on the sofa.
“Alright Light! Just you and me doing some fieldwork, sounds like it’ll be fun!”
Aizawa smacks Matsuda on the side of the head. “This isn’t a field trip to go shopping and eat at cafes! Both you and Light are placing your lives on the line.”
Matsuda deflates back onto the mirroring couch in defeat while Mr. Yagami remains staring between his son and Ryuzaki.
“Are you sure about this? Light– I don't want him to make you look more guilty when you’re not.”
“Then let me go! If I can find the Second Kira– it’ll only help me clear my name.”
Light’s tone is demanding despite pleading with his father for approval in attending the mission. Even while slightly pissed off, you recognize it to be the same uncomfortable aura from your first lunch ‘date’ a few weeks ago.
No notebooks…?
Remembering the aspect of ‘notebooks’ being an important aspect of revealing the Second Kira, you turn to Ryuzaki who has now finally returned eye contact. Scrunching your brows in confusion at his lack of complete clarity, L gives a short nod ‘no’ before returning his attention back to the father-son duo.
“Is this plan alright with everyone? Anyone not going to Aoyama will have different monitoring tasks during these events so please ensure your availability.”
Mogi and Aizawa nod as Mr. Yagami sits back down in defeat and Light gives a solid statement of his own approval. Matsuda hums in excitement across from you and you sit on the couch with arms crossed and scowling into the space of the corner of the room.
“Alright then, let’s continue with some specifics for how this will all play out.”
*********
A sour taste remains in your mouth for the rest of the meeting as you listen to the plan you helped come up with be delegated to other members. Aizawa and you will be in charge of monitoring CCTV at the headquarters alongside Ryuzaki while Mogi and Mr. Yagami are on standby duty at Sakura TV in case of a break through.
At the usual late hour, the meeting is concluded and you take your time packing up your things as members slowly trickle home. Matsuda stretches and holds the door open for the Yagamis before exiting and leaving you in the room with L and Watari.
“Ryuzaki… can I speak with you?”
L looks up from handing Watari his empty teacup and nods once, “I assumed you wanted to speak, you usually pack up much quicker most evenings.”
Any other time the comment might’ve made your heart rate pick up at his attentiveness to your habits, but this time your heart remains heavy in your chest. Following him into the bedroom as usual, when the door clicks shut the only thing you can do is stand awkwardly in silence.
Hands wet with sweat, you tug at the straps of your briefcase bag and wondering where to even begin.
“Something is bothering you. I can tell.”
Ryuzaki leans against the side of the bedframe casually and stares at your face patiently, showing no signs of fatigue despite the late hour.
You sigh once and take a step forward. “Why didn’t you choose me for Aoyama?”
L watches you for an additional second and closes his eyes for a moment. “I figured that's what you were gonna ask.”
“So… why didn’t you?”
Ryuzaki shrugs and looks off to the messy desk at the side of the room, twitching once as the analog clock on the wall ticks away in the deafening silence.
“I figured Light and Matsuda were the best for the task. That’s it.”
That’s it?
You grip your bag tighter, sinking your nails into the leather, and can feel the anger from earlier beginning to seep out, “What do you mean? Haven’t I worked hard to prove you can trust me? That I would be great for this position?”
“Of course I trust you, but that has nothing to do with this.”
You furrow your brows, growing impatient as he speaks to you as if it were obvious. “What do you mean? I’ve been helping you come up with this plan and been watching Light this whole time… so why is it different?”
“Did you feel entitled to it? Is that why you’re upset?”
You wince and take a step back, embarrassment mixing into the defensive that began building.
Ryuzaki watches your expression and continues, “Matsuda will do just fine watching Light, I’ve already spoken to him privately about it. The other members on this task force are accomplished and determined. Just because you’ve been a great help in conducting this plan doesn’t mean you’re the best person to execute it.”
Your throat feels tight as his words, and humiliation begins to sink in as he speaks.
Of course, other members are veterans at this and you’re still under the position of an ‘intern’ for Mr. Yagami. It’s fucking embarrassing how worked up I’ve become…
“You could’ve let me know ahead of time…when we were planning this earlier…”
Ryuzaki turns back to you, an awkward feeling forming in chest at seeing your dejected face turn away from him.
“Maybe it’s foolish that I was already planning on going but–”
“-- you would’ve thrown the same fit you threw earlier. Announcement of my decision doesn’t mean anything.”
The words are harsh. Harsher than Ryuzaki means for them to come out as he internally struggles with this uncomfortable feeling and he regrets it the moment they leave his lips. Your eyebrows furrowed in a mixture of anger, rejection, and embarrassment; the way you scoff hurts him deeply considering the array of ugly emotions are directed at him.
“Right. Whatever..” you spin on your heel and open the door to finish the conversation. “Thanks for the clarification.”
The words are spit with venom through gritted teeth and you don’t bother turning around to say goodbye. Watari watches the anger seethe off you and makes no effort to create conversation as he follows you out the hotel door and down the lobby to the parking lot.
If you weren’t getting chauffeured by Ryuzaki’s right hand man, hot angry tears would have escaped your eyes, an aggravated scream would leave your lips, and a few punches to an empty car seat cushion may have taken place.
As the car pulls out of the lot, you look out the glass and notice the silhouette of Ryuzaki peering from behind the hotel window curtain before you turn your head the other way. Watari makes no effort to speak and doesn’t protest when you dig your headphones out of your bag and blast music in your ears.
**************
4am - 4 hours after the meeting ended.
Ryuzaki POV
He should’ve worded that differently. He knows, she knows, Watari even knows it judging on the somber and judgmental look he shot Ryuzaki after returning from dropping you home. It’s not like he wanted to come off as an asshole, he usually did to most people, but the fact he came off that way to you was what made this guilt so uncomfortable in his gut.
Ryuzaki lets out a long sigh and leans back in the office chair at the desk in the hotel bedroom, not bothering to sleep. One more shade of purple under his eyes won’t be noticed and L takes this moment to bite at his cuticles in thought.
Why hadn’t he just given you the task for Aoyama?
You had proved yourself more useful than half the people he’s had the displeasure of working with. Patient with his awkward attitude, intelligent with great deductive skills, loyal to his recommendation despite making you observe your ‘friend’ for signs of being Kira, and absolutely beauti-
Ryuzaki snaps his head to the side and rejects the thought before it forms. On a professional level it should’ve been you. You’ve already done so much to help in the Aoyama plan, more so than he could casually give you praise for, and your ability to follow Light and intuition with his behavior made you the perfect candidate. So why didn’t he?
L stands up from the desk and begins to walk aimlessly around his room in the moonlight that seeped in from the windows. Instead of giving you the chance to apply yourself and excel with a perfect opportunity, he has you scheduled to sit in a dark room with him and another colleague watching CCTV for hours on end.
The nasty and ugly part of him was glad when he had made that decision, keeping you away from the front line despite going to school with his number one suspect— this time you could be far away from Light. Safe… with him. Why did he even want that?
Ryuzaki sits on the edge of his hotel bed and shakes his head before looking around the room for a plate of desserts that might be lingering. Of course he knew why he didn’t personally want you prancing the streets of Aoyama with Light. The fact it meant you would be at risk of being killed by the Second Kira, who may not need a name to murder, OR the fact it meant you would be spending the whole day walking around cute cafes and boutiques with Light while Ryuzaki was forced to watch it all on CCTV in multiple angles for multiple hours. He wasn’t sure which option was worse.
Pushing those thoughts back down again, completely inappropriate given the situation, he pulls out his cell phone and runs his fingers down the sides in thought. He should apologize. He knows it, and he also knows you would pretend to be fine during the meeting tomorrow despite actually being pissed off at him. Rightfully so.
Letting out a sigh of defeat, Ryuzaki powers it on and open up your contact and waiting a beat before clicking the dial button and leaning further onto the edge of the bed.
He’s not sure you’re even going to answer until the line rings for a fourth time and a half asleep “huhhh?” rings out from the other end.
Ryuzaki pauses immediately at the tone, not quite a groan but a light and airy moan escapes your lips into the receiver at your sleepy state. L stands motionless at the tone and immediately begins to regret calling at this late hour when his body begins to react against every logical will his brain offers.
“Hello?”
Shit. He realizes he’s taking too long to answer and resolves to issuing a short apology.
“Y/N? It’s L... I’m sorry to wake you.”
“Ohhhh Ryuzakiii”
L swallows hard at the airy tone you use, knowing you have no idea what you actually sound like considering it’s nearly 4:30 in the morning. His breath is labored as he clenches the phone in his hand, nearly forgetting the whole reason he was calling anyways.
“Yes, I’d like to apologize for my words earlier this evening. Though we can discuss this.. Tomorrow.”
“Hmm” There’s the sound of you shuffling on the other end before you continue and yawn in between every other word, “Ohhhh please don’t be mad.. I didn’t.. Mean to be.. A bitch…please– Ryuzaki”
Fuck. FUCK.
Even the sound of his fake name leaving your lips in that tone was enough to make him wince at the familiar feeling growing in his jeans. He needed to end this call. Now.
“No, I’m not mad. Please get some sleep and I apologize again… for calling this late.”
Ryuzaki ends the call and throws the phone on the bed as if the metal had been burning his hand the entire time.
This feeling was wrong, so. Fucking. Wrong.
He doesn’t need to look down to know what’s happening, being a young man in 20s he’s quite familiar with the feeling, but he peers down anyway. The fabric around the fly of his baggy jeans was uncomfortably tight and his cock pushed against the confines of his boxers and denim, throbbing slightly in arousal.
Ryuzaki lets out a shaky breath and thinks a million different thoughts at once, a majority of them full of self loathing and frustration. He was your boss for fuck’s sake. You both had admitted your trust in one another and he would hate himself for the rest of his life if you thought the only reason he kept you around was to sexually gratify him.
He had been around countless female agents and detectives who had been bullied or pulled out of the workforce because of menial relationships. Even Naomi had left the FBI upon getting married. If you ever found out that he was hard at just the sound of your sleepy and disheveled voice, you would probably be disgusted and offended and leave the task force; the very prospect of that being the last thing he wants considering your talent.
A wince escapes his lips when his cock throbs at the image of you now present in his head, and every rational brain cell within his skull is screaming at him to change his thoughts and let himself get soft. But he can’t. Not with the way your lips, coated in that honey flavored chapstick, or maybe lip gloss, you always apply, is painted clearly in his head. The way those very same lips would look around the base of his co-
NO.
Ryuzaki grips the comforter beneath him and folds into himself slightly as his erection painfully begs for some sort of friction to satisfy it. ‘It’s an abuse of a position of power’ is what the world famous detective portion of his brain is saying, while the 20-something-year-old portion of his brain is remembering what the swell of your ass looks like when you bend over the couch armrest to pick up fallen documents.
Shit…
He can feel all logical rationale seeping out of him when twitching fingers move to undo the button of his jeans and let down the zipper of his fly to just apply a little relief. Realistically, you might be interested too.
The thought makes Ryuzaki bite his lip in disgust while his hands betray his brain and move to shimmy the fabric of his jeans to his mid thigh and let his erection stand up in his boxers. The constant replies to all his messages, working late evenings with him, and brushing fingertips more times than a casual explanation could allow, even bringing him those delicious cookies when you realized how much he liked them.
You never did that for Light.
“Shit..”
Ryuzaki sighs in a partially drunk state while he stares at the patch of pre cum seeping through the flimsy fabric of his boxers, his cock aching for relief. The image of you with Light feeds the ugly part of him he didn’t even know had existed; despite knowing you for around a month, the idea of you being close with Light brings an unexplainable frustration to his mind.
While being able to imagine Light’s smug face is nearly enough to soften his erection, the sound of your voice airily moaning his fake name comes to mind once more, and the idea of what it would sound like to hear you say ‘Lawliet’ in that same tone, makes his cock ache even more than he thought possible.
Ryuzaki’s had erections before during your time at the task force, ones that occurred when he happened to fall sleep and woke up with some light morning wood. But this was different. Fingertips pinching the elastic of his waistband, he tugs the fabric down to join his jeans at his mid thigh; a wince escapes his lips at the change in temperature on his dick.
A slight happy trail going down his navel that extended into a full bush from lack of need to trim for anybody, his cock hovers upright with the angry dark pink tip leaking pre-cum profusely. This wasn’t a casual boner he was popping, it was an ugly carnal desire L had written off from having due to his career and work life. Yet sitting on the edge of the bed, all rationale finally seeps out of him.
It must due to be the lack of blood flow to his brain that makes Ryuzaki bring his palm to his mouth to spit into the flesh a few times before coating his shaft in a mix of pre-cum and saliva. The sensation causes a slight groan to escape and his eyebrows to furrow in focus as he spends an extra second massaging the tip.
Giving a few extra pumps to warm up, he begins to slide his hand up and down the shaft with just the amount of tension he likes. The feeling pairs nicely with the image of you in his head, would you jerk him off like this? Or would you want to put those pretty lips to use on his cock while your hands worked on his shaft?
Balls tightening at the mere image, his hips jerk forward into his hand as his body betrayed his brain and grew hornier at the thoughts. What color bra did you always wear? A week ago you accidentally wore a pretty light blue one under your white shirt… did you know he could see it? What did your tits look like when you take it off?
“Nngh… oh f-fuck..”
L swallows thickly and quickens the pace before using his other hand to lift his shirt so he could lean over and spit on his cock once more before taking the fabric in his teeth. His fingers massage the tip before tugging on the skin of his shaft and applying pressure to the enlarged vein that ran on the underside of cock, causing a few groans to leave his mouth.
And what if you did want him back? Would you let him sit under your pretty pussy while you rode his face? Let him eat you out like he had been thinking about… if you tasted even sweeter than he was imagining.
Hips shuddering and balls aching with a heavy feeling, that recognizable coil begins to grow in his abdomen as he increases the speed. Sweat dripping down his brow, he nearly coughs when the image of you letting him fuck you crosses his vision.
Splayed out all pretty and moaning his name. His real name. Or maybe riding him in this very bed while he sucks bruises only he will be able to see onto those perfect pretty tits of yours.
“Fuck.. Y/N… gonna..”
He increases the speed of his hand and can see the image now in a thousand different ways. Him cumming in your mouth, on your face, on your tits, in your hand, in your cunt and then watching it leak out…
FUCK
Ryuzaki tugs a few extra times and exhales sharply when hot ropes of semen begin to pour down his hand and even escape on the carpet below. Rubbing his cock through his orgasm, he lays back on the bed with an exasperating feeling as he catches his breath.
Hot cum on his hand, thighs, and now floor, the post-nut clarity is a disgusting feeling that washes over him. All the images and ways he’s tried so damn hard not to see you in, make him feel no better than a dog with no respect when that’s all you’ve shown him.
Of course it’s more than your body that L is attracted to, but the physical and creepy nature of masturbating to you makes him shiver uncomfortably as a line that shouldn’t have been crossed now has. With one more sigh and mentally shelving the images his brain had conjured up, Ryuzaki sits up and reaches for a couple of tissues on the nightstand.
Sopping up all the remnant cum on his hands, thighs, and carpet, he tosses the tissues into the trash and tucks himself back into his boxers and jeans.
Tomorrow…
Ryuzaki doesn’t want to even begin to consider how he would face you tomorrow, so he decides not to think about it. It was a one time thing, and now that it’s out of his system he should be free from the hypnotic spell you seem to have placed him under. With a sigh, he decides to head into the ensuite bathroom to wash away the physical evidence of his perverted actions and clear his head before facing you in yet another meeting tomorrow. One where you would be fully awake, and he could properly apologize.
part 3 is doneeee
ty so much for your patience with this series! holidays and exams are crazy but im so excited to keep writing this (hehe more nsfw to come, but defrosting methodical L into a horny pining man takes some time)
could I request for a reader who is quite but likes to tease those close to her, jealous of how confident some other girls can be. She feels out of place as her powers are quite weak but she is a moral booster. She has a secret crush on toshiro, I'd anyone asks however, she finds it a waste to care for shinigami as she will likely die long before any of them (she is half human after all and she ages like one)
I hope this was a good start I'm new to the request thing haha
Yes, of course!! <3 I really liked writing this!! I love soft Toshiro :)
You're in the Soul Society quite often, hanging around with Toshiro and Unohana's squad. Toshiro's division makes you work hard and Unohana's allows for you to learn more about medicine and even expand on your powers.
You've grow pretty close with Rangiku, even confessing to her about your feelings to Toshiro. She always teases you about and asks why you don't tell him.
You tell her it's waste, since you'll be long gone before Toshiro will even start to look older. Plus, you'll never have Rangiku's confidence, although she's started to help you build yours.
You've been on a few missions with the 10th division as they plan them out. You're always helping them when they get injured or cheering them on.
The 10th division is on a mission in the woods, looking for an unhinged former soul reaper. They've been killing soul reapers as an act of revenge for being banished.
Somehow, they found a way back into the soul society and have been hiding out in the woods ever since.
You walk behind Toshiro with Rangiku behind you. The branches and leaves crunch underneath your feet.
"You're being awful quiet," Toshiro comments, turning his head around and meeting your eyes. You smile weakly and shrug your shoulders.
In the corner of your eyes, a man leaps down from a tree landing in front of Toshiro and swinging his sword...right at him. Your mouth gapes open and you grab onto Toshiro's wrist, tugging him behind you.
You kneel down on the ground and hold out your hands, a shallow shield forming around you as the sword slams down onto it. You yelp out and your body shakes.
"Y/n!" Toshiro gasps out, hand reaching out to his sword and whipping it out.
"Do something! Please, I can't hold this for long!" you whimper out, feeling your muscles strain. Rangiku rushes at the man and swings her sword.
The former soul reaper blocks Rangiku's sword, backing off from you.
You let out a heavy sigh, releasing the shield. The former soul reaper is moving fast, already slicing through some of the members of the 10th division.
Rangiku throws herself forward, swinging her sword at the man. He easily dodges and his sharp sword slices through Rangiku's shoulder.
She groans heavily and hunches over, grabbing onto her injured shoulder. You clench your fists and leap up onto your feet.
"No!" you cry out, pushing yourself in front of Rangiku and slamming your sword against the soul reaper's. They clash together with a loud sound that pierces your eardrums.
The soul reaper pushes his sword down on yours, slowly moving closer to your face.
"Y/n, back off!" Toshiro shouts out, his icy blue eyes laced with concern. Your eyes meet his and you shake your head.
"I can do this, Toshiro!" you call out, shoving your hand forward and into the man's lower gut. The power flows through your body and forces the man to slide back on the grass.
You pant heavily, sweat gleaming over your forehead. The man rushes towards you, way faster than you expect. You raise your sword, but it's too late.
You can hear a call of your name from Toshiro as the sword slices through your flesh on your lower stomach. Your jaw goes slack as you grab onto your stomach.
Fresh crimson blood starts to spill out from the wound and pain ripples throughout your body. Toshiro's eyes widen and his heart skips a beat.
From behind he drives his sword through the former soul reaper's back and the man gurgles, his body going limp. Toshiro grunts heavily as he rips his sword out from the man's body.
The world starts to spin around you and Toshiro rushes up to you. He catches you in his arms just as you're about to fall over. Your legs dangle over the side of his arms as you're lifted off the ground.
Your head rests against his chest and you mumble and groan. Your eyelids become heavy and they close as your body goes limp.
Your eyes slowly flutter open and they adjust to the bright white lighting inside the tiny room. You shuffle on the bed and glance over where Toshiro is sitting on a chair, watching you steadily.
The side of your body is sore, aching from the sword injury.
"You're awake," Toshiro lifts his head up, eyes widening. You shoot him a smile and your heart skips a beat.
"Is everyone okay?" you ask with concern. Toshiro nods his head.
"I should have never let you go on that mission. I'm sorry," Toshiro lowers his head with shame. You raise your eyebrows and shake your head.
"It was my decision, Toshiro," you speak up and his eyes soften.
"Well, you did great out there. Your powers are improving," he nods his head, speaking proudly.
"Hey, aren't I the one who's suppose to be the moral booster?" you ask, teasing him.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. How about this? We can take turns," Toshiro chuckles out, a warm smile spreading across his face.
Imagen izuru Kamukura with the female undertaker.
⚰️Her saying I love you my dear but my dolls show more emotions than you and your humour is dryer than there cremated boddies him clapping back aren't you you older than most bodies you buried makings her laugh .
⚰️Her being the loveable goofy but weerd person dating a guy who in her words is like a dead person.
(Can we please apreacate their long silky hair like exuse me it's so beautiful and I'm jealous about it)
⚰️Her helping her with her funeral parlour and them both being information banks call them Google because they have everything you need.
⚰️Him finding out that she isn't human but a shinigami a retired one but she is still one and lived in the Victorian aria if that's boring I don't know what is then.
⚰️Her dressing up in more Victorian style dress and him helping her making them because she misses the fashion from back in the day (I love historical clothing.)
Been a while, bestie.
Izuru Kamukura
You joined Hope’s Peak Academy as the Ultimate Undertaker, and even before he was Izuru, he knew that you were strangely optimistic even for the occupation you had. However, you were very unpredictable. He remembers going to you once for information and instead of payment or even having to torture you, you asked for a joke that would make you laugh.
For approximately 10 minutes, he was not able to make you laugh, something he hadn’t expected, and so you rolled your eyes and called him dryer than the bodies you cremated.
Izuru clapped back, saying, “Aren’t you older than the bodies you bury?”
Luckily for him, you burst into laughter. It had been a while since you got a real belly laugh, as there was no Ultimate Joke Teller. With that being said, he intrigued you. He reminded you of the dolls you made; soulless, hopeless despite being the Ultimate Hope, no gleam in his eyes at all. The thought made you smile, giggling as you went back to work.
Another thing that drew you both to each other was your phosphorescent eyes. Both pairs of eyes glowed in a very menacing way, which was very conflicting for everyone who knew you because you were a very happy person. It was understandable for him, considering he was not one to joke around..
He honestly doesn’t mind how you dress. The Victorian Era seemed to be a good point in your very long life (he was aware you were not human), as there were many dead bodies going through your funeral parlor, but he never expected that you were a Grim Reaper. To be fair, now that he thought about it, it fits you almost perfectly. At least you were able to break free of your figurative restraints and do what you loved.
Now, there are a few times where he will help you around your funeral parlor, especially when you have been employed to help someone and are using a body to get clues about a particular case. He loves helping you because it allows him to spend time with you. Plus, you sometimes get a bit stuck (not really, but you think it’s hot whenever he deducts something from a cadaver), and it leads to you both possibly getting a bit steamy~
As silly as it is, you love calling him “doll” because he reminds you of your ‘dolls’. He grew to like the nickname, as it reminds him of your close connection. You both are two oddballs, hopelessly and ironically in love.
Im so happy that the ask box is open again 😭💕
5 people that grimmjow despise/is jealous of, and why ? (I feel like this kitty truly does cling to his worst emotions to feel alive and also to drive his motivation up, so I'm curious !)
Ooooh, fun question!!! owo
. . .
Aizen — There's no one he despises more! The all-too-arrogant Shinigami who thinks he can march right into Hueco Mundo and crown himself king of the Hollows without a second thought is the number one target of Grimmjow's loathing, and especially because of his obvious sense of superiority over the entire species.
Nnoitra — How can he not hate the guy who has the rank right above him? It's not exactly personal— he'd be slightly bitter about whoever got ranked just above him. However, Grimmjow isn't an idiot; he understands exactly why Nnoitra holds that rank, and that there's nothing he can do but make himself strong enough to claim it.
Ulquiorra — This one's just a case of clashing personalities. Grimmjow doesn't have any particular reason to hate Ulquiorra, but the two of them can't get along. Ever. Their methods and ideologies are so terribly different, after all... and they can do nothing but cause extreme levels of mutual irritation. It's a bad mix, overall.
Starrk — Grimmjow is jealous of Starrk, definitely. Being the strongest has to be pretty great. No one can ever hurt you, and you can take whatever respect you want by force. And yet, Starrk doesn't use that power at all. It seems like a huge waste, and Grimmjow kind of resents him for not taking advantage of what he has.
Ichigo — This one's harder for Grimmjow to understand, even in his own head, but the more he interacts with Ichigo, the more achingly, subconsciously aware he is of his own lack of humanity. Ichigo's everything gets to him in the worst of ways, and makes him feel like he's lacking something that he can never truly gain back.
Back with more soul eater au . Sun eater. Omori eater. Uhh. Soul omori.
Anyways me ranting about this au down here .
First, soul eater premise so I don't confuse people!
"Death City is home to the famous Death Weapon Meister Academy, a technical academy headed by the Shinigami—Lord Death himself. Its mission: to raise "Death Scythes" for the Shinigami to wield against the many evils of their fantastical world. These Death Scythes, however, are not made from physical weapons; rather, they are born from human hybrids who have the ability to transform their bodies into Demon Weapons, and only after they have consumed the souls of 99 evil beings and one witch's soul."
Omori spoilers probably too
------------------------------------------------------------
Aubrey, Hero and Sunny are all meisters! What does that mean? It means their job is to turn their friends into death weapons, they're all partners and fight together!
Sunny: Sunny wants to become a miester for his sister, he's only doing it because Mari wanted him to be by her side and not leave him alone.
Hero: His parents wanted him to be born a weapon but since he never did he still wanted to do something so he became a meister and wants to be one of the first to make one of his friends (Mari) a death scythe. Hero prefers using Mari's scythe form the most since their wavelengths get along the most and they're just both good as a team.
Aubrey: She always wanted to be a weapon, it sounded the coolest to her but she is just a human. But, she can see souls! What does that mean? It's called Soul Perception, Aubrey herself possesses a keen sense of soul perception in which is due to the fact that she possess greater courage then others when fighting fear. Not only can she sense souls herself, but also attributes and estimated capabilities and later even the emotional state of others. (I totally didn't copy and paste what soul perception means) Aubrey is extremely jealous of Kel due to the fact he can turn into different weapons and she can't even be one. (Will get into Kel soon.) Aubrey and Kel are the best pair but also cannot work together. Their wavelengths never match and they can barely use soul resonance, when they fight their souls reject each other which causes Aubrey's hands to burn and Kel to feel very ill and his nose bleeds. Aubrey's hands are burnt because of how many times this happens!
------------------------------------------------------------
Mari: She is the only Scythe in the group! She is a perfectionist and her soul is the most determined out of everyone. Mari can actually use her scythe as a piano!
Basil: Basil is gardening shears! (Yeah I know, real original) When he and Sunny first paired up they had a fight over trying to do witch hunter (a fighting technique to kill witches) and Basil accidentally hurt Sunny and now Sunny has less eye coordination! Basil works best with Aubrey because of how long the two have been working together. (I'm still considering giving Basil black blood so he can be stranger but I don't know.)
Kel: (Kel's weapon choice was hard for me so I did just take another character's abilities and gave it to him but it works well with him.) He is classified as a "shadow weapon" who has the power to transform into a variety of ninja weapons including a kusarigama, a shuriken, a ninjatō, knife and a smoke bomb. His ability was passed down by previous family members. His parents wanted it to be for Hero but they couldn't control that! Kel can use his soul to resonate with whoever wields him! It reflects his character and how he can befriend anyone. Each person has a preference of Kel's weapon ability that they like to use. Mari uses Kel's smokebomb form, Aubrey uses his Kusarigama, Basil uses his Shuriken, Sunny uses his knife form (obviously) and Hero uses the ninjatō! Hero is the only one who can use it, its full name is the uncanny sword. One of the Uncanny Sword's known abilities is "Soul Possession", in which exploits the fears in people's hearts to possess the body and soul of the person who carries it. In the end, it absorbs the person's soul entirely. Another is Shadow Manipulation, the Uncanny Sword is capable of controlling a meister's shadow at will for a variety of effects. Hero is the only one who can use this weapon form because using it takes the users soul and Hero has the most experience with this form.
All of them are a group and switch between using each weapon because they can't pick only one pair together (by them I mean me)
ohhh kurumi ? all of the numbers go all out
Ohhh Kurumi. Alrighty here we go
I will admit. My first impression of her was not... great? I didn't dislike her, but I had a feeling she was just gonna be delegated to Yuma's love interest. Each second Shinigami got jealous or Desuhiko called her Yuma's girlfriend did not help KDJEJS
As for headcanons, I think she's super into true crime and going down researching rabbit holes. She's watched Buzzfeed Unsolved. She just loves figuring out the answers to stuff she doesn't know!
I have a lot of complaints about her character sadly. She's really held back by the game needing her to be Yuma's love interest. Like... I WANT to enjoy her screentime, but whenever she appears I have to deal with Shinigami becoming a raging asshole and Desuhiko being annoying about the shipping!!!! Which isnt her fault but it just made me want to get the scene over with. The game just, really wants you to ship these two despite them... not really having that sort of chemistry?? At all??? I was also confused by her inclusions in some parts of the game. Why did Makoto drop her into the restricted area. What did she do to warrant that. Anyways, onto some praise- I do like the little bits of character the game offers us, she's definitely the sort of person I'd be pals with. I also like her design a lot? It's not too flashy but it's very nice. And I like that she was introduced via Yuma discovering she was stalking him. Iconic really
My favorite pairing for Kurumi... honestly it's. Kinda difficult? She doesn't interact very much with the other characters. I did like how much she looked up to and admired Yuma and Halara. So... them? Platonically? Let Kurumi out of her cage Kodaka let her interact with people
My overall opinion is that I like Kurumi herself a lot, but the game just absolutely drops the ball with her. I will get her out of there and she will be the protagonist of a super cool game or show where she gets to flex her highly specific knowledge on everyone.
#answering asks#i hope this wasnt too negative#she just deserves better yk#rain code#master detective archives: rain code#raincode#mdarc#raincode spoilers#kurumi wendy
now that i think about it, how will chapter 0 play out for the DKY au? yakou won’t exactly be on the train car so it might be hard for him to actually investigate anything regarding the Amaterasu Express Massacre (including some of the gimmicks), so i’m wondering if he’s going to investigate a separate case or maybe something that logically makes sense for him to be at haha
I slept on this question a bit too hard (I completely missed attending one of my classes whoops). Chapter 0 for this AU is much more complicated to figure out how it would function in the story, it'd make chapter 4 jealous. But after some contemplation, I think I've found a way to make it work. It may involve a little suspension of disbelief, but it'll be interesting.
The prologue and chapter 0 are basically combined in this AU, since Yakou meets up with all the surviving detectives individually, which serve as their introductions. I'll definitely go into more detail in a future post about each detective's train massacre and how they survived and caught or avoided the culprits. For now, all that's needed is that Yakou spends the day getting to know each of the survivors and a part of their stories, clueing himself in on Amaterasu's involvement in these massacres.
However, things change when he rushes over to the final train arrival. Yakou spots the rookie Yuma being interrogated by Swank and a handful of other officers, questioning his innocence. Yakou uses this window as his chance to investigate the aftermath of the slaughter, swiftly surveying all the train cars and the burnt bodies. He checks off a mental list of all the dead detectives, recognizing them from the profiles he received from the WDO. But other than Yuma, one is still missing. Zilch. As he finishes his brisk investigation, he spots someone running off the train. Yakou chases after them, and they run right into Swank and his goons who are about to arrest Yuma. The other detective, now recognized as Zilch, begins to exclaim in agreeance that Yuma is the culprit. Swank is fully aware that this Zilch is the hitman, but he's not dumb enough to reveal it in front of Yakou. In a subtle change of plans, the money-grubbing peacekeeper holds both suspects down. Yuma and Zilch turn to Yakou for help, scared voices trampling over each other as they try to explain their innocence. Shinigami advises Yakou to ask for her help, and he accepts in a panic.
In this first mystery labyrinth, Yakou is tasked with finding out which of the two remaining detectives is the real culprit. Since he could only investigate the aftermath, he has to rely on the detectives to testify about their time on the train. Using their testimonies, Yakou has to pick out any contradictions in order to determine who committed the murders, assisted by the evidence gathered on the train. Yuma and Zilch are in their mystery phantom forms, battling each other while Yakou is caught in the crossfire of their statements. There are times where Yakou will side with either of them, but eventually he realizes that Yuma is the one telling the truth. Zilch retorts even more, evolving into his owlcat form to plead innocence and attack Yuma further. Yakou defeats Zilch, allowing Shinigami to reap his soul and destroy the mystery labyrinth.
Returning to reality, Zilch freezes mid-yell, suddenly dropping dead in an officer's grasp. This time it isn't just Yakou that flips his lid. Yuma yelps in shock as Swank berates him for poisoning Zilch. Yakou tries to reason with Swank, but it's no use. Just as Swank is about to take Yuma away by force, the surviving detectives step up to assist Yakou and prove Yuma's innocence by providing evidence that Zilch was a hired hitman. With nothing else to gain against a pack of determined detectives, Swank submits to their claims and backs off as he swears they'll feel Amaterasu's wrath soon, allowing Yuma to be set free. The group of detectives reconvene, providing Yakou and Yuma some much needed relief. They all leave Kanai Station in a bundle of conversations, all warmly greeting the newest member of the Nocturnal Detective Agency.
#its scarily difficult to adapt chapter 0 to this au but i think i got it#im not good at writing mysteries even though i play mystery games#im a bit stupid n silly#death knight yakou au#rain code#rain code spoilers#yakou furio#yuma kokohead#hitman zilch
Ya know, I'm sort of wondering if you got an kink headcanons for the characters. Especially Yomi and the detectives haha
TW/CW: Somnophilia/noncon/gore/yandere
Surprisingly, the most I've really thought about is Seth kink headcanons. I definitely think Seth fantasizes about fucking his boss due to Yomi's work abuse (depending on how bad Yomi treats him that day, is how intense his sexual fantasies get) and has a somnophilia kink. He really wants to drug Yomi and give him a taste of his own medicine (I actually posted some thoughts about him actually going through with drugging Yomi)
For Makoto, I've also thought he's a little into gore. Where he gives Yomi the antidote after Yakou's DLC and makes Yomi suffer..a lot. Maybe since Makoto loves the ppl of Kanai Ward and Yomi made them all suffer for so long (tho Makoto still loves Yomi. This is just his way of punishing him/showing his love). Since Yomi's body might be able to restore itself but he'd feel Makoto torturing him. I like to think Makoto is such a little freak. Doesn't show it to other people. But once he and Yomi are alone, he can't control himself.
And I am gonna be honest, I haven't thought toooooo much about Yomi kink headcanons. Like with abo stuff, I like the idea of Yomi hiding the fact he's an omega but someone (probably Makoto or Seth, maybe even Yakou) finding out or something. I always imagine Yomi as a trans man though. I'd also like to think Makoto actually turns him on (tho he'd never admit it), so late at night, he masturbates at the thought of/to a picture of Makoto while muttering something like "You stupid Masked Bastard".
As for Zilch, I think he's a yandere deep down. Like he's the type that wants Yomi all to himself (but to Yomi, he's a "good boy") and he gets *extremely* jealous whenever Yomi is flirting with/being sexual towards Martina. He wants to kill anyone that touches Yomi. Zilch probably masturbates to Yomi often and really wants to ravage him, but at the same time, doesn't want to ruin his relationship with Yomi. I also like to think after Yakou's DLC, they're able to bring Zilch back but he's not entirely the same as he once was. His yandere tendencies increased tenfold. Maybe he even somehow makes it to where Yomi and him will share a jail cell (somehow, idk) so he can show Yomi just how much he loves him. I also like to think Zilch watches Yomi sleep. He's also a creep. To me, everyone in here is a creep towards Yomi (except probably Yuma, Shinigami, Halara, Fubuki, and Vivia)
That's preeeetty much it I think. 😭😭 Sometimes I try to think of more kink hcs but nothing wants to come to me. If you have any kink hcs for the characters, I'd love to hear them!
📑 Favorite part of your muse’s backstory?
🔮 What do you see in your muse’s future?
😈Worst thing you’ve ever done to your muse?
(I know I picked like half of the things but...)
Mun talks about the muse
//AND I'LL ANSWER ALL OF THEM!! Talking about the blorbo is my number 1 serotonin provider, I'll never miss the chance!! Thank you SO much for the yapping opportunity! 💛->
✍ Favorite thing about writing the muse? - Definitely how they strive to find the good in everything and everyone, themselves included, and how consistenly they try to just get out there and live. They KNOW the Soul Society isn't made for Hollows, they KNOW shinigami have been their enemies since like 5 minutes prior and they're just being granted the chance of a lifetime, they KNOW they will never be at their level either since their sword can't change into shikai or achieve bankai (they detest their resurreccion so they won't consider it).
But they still try. They want to make friends, they want to be of help, they want to get out there and live the new life they've been given no matter how out of place they'll feel and how much rejection they'll experience. They've lived in the shadows for so long that their desire to break out and wholeheartedly be the change they've always wanted to achieve is just uncontainable.
👀 Favorite thing about the muse’s appearance? - Their hair! While my intention as author was for their hair buns to give the idea of cat ears, in-universe those are just wild strands of hair which took that shape and serve no purpose. heheh.
💕Favorite ship for the muse? - *vibrates holding back from taking the tower of notes on my desk*
ok no I will spare you all, I could talk for hours about Miele and Rose, but other than the occasional gush or silly doodle here and there I don't want to make people feel uncomfortable so I will elaborate further only if asked to.
In short, on one hand we have a man who possesses Hollow powers, has been deemed a traitor for 100 years and then re-instated among people who probably don't trust him one bit just because it was the most convenient thing to do for the Gotei 13, and despite that still takes the responsibility of becoming Captain, doing his best to pick up the pieces of a broken division and caring for his subordinates.
On the other hand , a once-enemy of Soul Society, with shinigami powers, now "thrown" among those whose job is to literally cleanse them --and who despite that still wishes to help them because the Seireitei is literally so BREATHTAKING for their eyes that they feel indebited to its inhabitants for just letting them breathe their same air. I don't think there's someone Miele could ever admire and cherish with all their heart more than him, someone who could understand them as much as they can understand him.
😂 Funniest thing that's ever happened to your muse? - Growing jealous of Candice. This creature is SEETHING at an object.
📑 Favorite part of your muse's backstory? - Their "period of adjustment", from Miele's admittance into the Cooperative Unit onwards. I'm sure not everyone is a fan of the shy new guy who just arrived and has to learn things from scratch™ archetype, but still, I love writing Miele when they're still discovering things.
🔮 What do you see in your muse’s future? - Hhmm. Tricky one. I do know they wish to become somewhat of a figure of reference for the Third Division, though nothing beyond Third Seat. I suppose that as they grow more experienced they could also become some sort of mediator between the Cooperative Unit as a whole and the Gotei 13.
😈Worst thing you’ve ever done to your muse? - deciding it would be fun to have zombie!Rose almost kill them during the second Quincy invasion in their main verse :')
#//nekotalks#//oh the TALKING the SPEAKING of the creature how joyful#//this was written with 3 hours of sleep in my system I hope it's readable
Darkness Reborn ~ Origins of the Ink Demon Finale Chapter Finale (6/10)
[I Know Professor - Jun Senoue]
Sister Iris : [voice heard] Shinra-Kun...Akiramenaide.
Inca Kasugatani : [voice heard] Ganbare...Shinra-Kun.
Amaterasu : [voice heard] Shinra-Kun...Onegai... Watashitachi no yakusoku o kesshite yaburanaide kudasai.
Shinra (as Devil Chaos Zero) : I know, guys. Ever since the Time Eater destroyed us all, I couldn't save everyone, not including Inca that was by executed his own hand. I may have lost everything, but I will not give up! It's time that Shinra Kusakabe will enter the final stage and I shall be the hero once more! Real World AU, get ready...Because your hero as returned as Devil Chaos...now in adult form! I've waited this along time ago! Now it needs something what it needs to be done! Follow me if they wanted truth to win!
"Meanwhile..."
Seto : So, kid. You set up the entire school, you were working for Dracula's servant Death after all those years. So why did you do it?
Shotaro the Dokeshi : Tch! Like you wish. I had to do it, his stupid man-made son had to make me Shinigami as whole, I was never the great old one of order! The real Great Olds ones are the lovecraftian Horror, you're all just too jealous that I have been stealing title. Me, Mana, and Yohei, have staged the whole Soul Eater crap just make Atsushi Ohkubo too greedy that manga/anime fans weren't very interested that couldn't buy or sell his work with his money. You're just begging it for it.
Disc-Chan : Enough talk, young man! Why are you doing this to Witchkind to bring benefits to mankind. Dracula's Servant Death order to protect the Kusakabe Legacy. And then you were the under influence of Shinra Kusakabe. Isn't that right, Mr. God of Death!
Shotaro the Dokeshi : Okay, you win! I was the one who created a banned research that was only used for alchemy, the mabuki were actually a newly developed form of the Dry Bones that I used to created, the truth is that I'm actually a human form of Yokai called the Kyokotsu, Maka already knew that the iconic sythe-wielidng idiot called Soul Evans was made from the bones of the original Evans, the one they call him Inky Evans, who used to a sidekick to Inky Albarn to defend the dark forces of True Evil. However, on strange occurences he died during the raid of Toon world aka 1930s Real World. Please, I'm just kid that is the former hero of a forgotten story in the Ohkuboverse! All I can do use bones for alchemy and stuff, I didn't that I was responsible for creating the weapons and it's probably all of the author's fault! I have been a dirty liar the entire time!
Seto : Oh, you poor thing. I know why you feel upset, because the Shinigami that you used to, that was my title that you stole from me and others!
Shotaro the Dokeshi : Yes, that's right! I did and I...Wha-? No! I didn't steal your title, Ichigo did and I gave it back to you! Don't you get it right, Deathless!?
Seto : But Master Grim told us that the Great Old ones of the Ohkuboverse are...
Shotaro the Dokeshi : A bunch of three uman beings from a forgotten story made by the same author as Soul World and I'm no ruler of the Cosmos. My name is Shotaro of B.Ichi, the second hero of the Ohkuboverse. And I'm just a kid from Toykyo, the Ohkuboverse counterfeit of Tokyo, that was destroyed before fifty-percent of the Ohkuboverse was destroyed in half by the Time Eater.
Seto : Say what?
Solva : You're from Real World Tokyo and how did you brought the Mabukis and so-called Deathscythes to life, that means you're the Demon Weapons' true creator! It wasn't the witch's magic at all, It was alchemy! How did that happened!? How did use Bones to bring the Demon Weapons brought to life and the Death Scythes as well!?
Shotaro the Dokeshi : You wanna know why what really happened? It was about over a year ago, a year before the Space Colony Ark Incident.
"Ever since Ohkubo's first day as an author, I, Shotaro the Dokeshi, was the first protagonist to be as the Second hero of the Ohkuboverse before everything resulted in 50 percent of the Ohkuboverse being destroyed half. Everything was not so smooth about it and it was fine in Real World AU."
"Everything was perfect for me being the human version of a Kyokotsu aka Mr. Crazy Bones, the skeleton spirit of the bones. Ohkubo was such a weird guy that he brings the stories into weirdness. But for me, Witchkind made my life a living hell after Inca Kasugatani's execution was spreaded over throughout the universe."
"Humans, Witches, bring war, segregation, and hatred that would change Real World AU forever. Even worse for my life, It was Shinra's man-made son, Death, that branded himself as a thief to witchkind, and nearly made Ashley's go on the verge extinction for religious refugees and political power. But it's not the witches he wanted them to be extinction, it was the creatures of the everlasting darkness Heartless. That I had an idea of creating weapon that make Witchkind to cease to exist from Inca Kasugatani, this research for the Mabuki's creation was actually only for the methods of Alchemy. And it would be the ultimate taboo for those that committed a sin, but eventually, the Men of Shinra's Influence had to become stubborn and so does to the heartless that wanted to use these weapons for destruction and consumption. Weapons were not brought into defending humanity nor they have the rights to bring salvation humankind. They wanted nothing but doom and Gloom for all witches to be destroyed by the greedy eye of Shinra Kusakabe."
Shotaro the Dokeshi : And that was his only fault that Heartless have became their target to destroy the influence of Shinra Kusakabe.
Solva : So that's why the DWMA was created to bring religious refugees and political power, that's why the witches were being involved as enemies because of the Heartless were trying to take over the world.
Seto : It was not their magic that wrecked the clean, it was Darkness all over it and Maka or her so-called friends would've listened to Truth instead. Why did you go and cover up for Shinra Kusakabe.
Shotaro the Dokeshi : Just as before you know it, he took every bones that I had to use the ingredients for the demon weapons that I gave to life, I had a help with Yohei who goes by the name Eibon, and that spectral woman named Amaterasu, the spectral who used to be part of Shinra Kusakabe. After creating the demon weapons, we took a very, very, dark turn for us. Truth came and accuses us for committing ultimate taboo, realizing that the method to create the Demon Weapons that we used Alchemy for our kind. Messed up, and lead to the death of my friend Emine, who turns out to be a puppet to Demon Vibe after his creation, the Evangelist, was destroyed by Shinra Kusakabe.
Seto : Emine? That human version of a mythological creature? He's a puppet to Demon Vibe.
Disc-Chan : So that's why Soul Eater Existed in the real world. All of that was just a cover up for Shinra Kusakabe's influence to be spreaded across the planet, which triggered the Heartless' Attention! That's why you created the Demon Weapons. You were punished by truth for using alchemy in order to give the Demon Weapons life and this why that...
Shotaro the Dokeshi : I couldn't take it no more. I had to go like this, I had to do it for the sake of Shinra Kusakabe's influence, his will used me as a Puppet and as well for Emine! The Ohkuboverse is all a lie! A false universe made of deception, our author...
[Noble Sacrifice (Full of Tears - Into the Abyss) - Kenji Yamamoto]
Shotaro the Dokeshi : ...Our Author played us all for fools! The stories that he has written for us, we're all just bunch of nonsense and there was no madness that brought, it was Hercules that he got it from Lyssa, the goddess of Greek Mythology. He only made that up so that he can make a lot of money, for me? I'm just a kid who had nothing to befriend with and I lost my humanity because of that monstrosity Shinra created, this was all my fault that I got Ashley's people involved as enemies to the human race, Go on, do it. Turn me in, turn me into the police! I don't deserve that title as Shinigami!
Seto : Is this what you wanted? You wanted the title Shinigami returning to me.
Shotaro the Dokeshi : You earned it. I don't need that title anymore. It's yours...for now.
Seto : Heh! I owe you one.
*Radio Buzzing*
Grim (Metal Sonic) : Seto. You there?
Seto : Master Grim, thank goodness you're alright! I was worried back there. I found the person who took the title Shinigami from me and I finally reclaimed it. Looks like Shinigami from Soul World has been officially kicked off from the Shinigami Council, looks I'm finally becoming part of the council.
Grim (Metal Sonic) : Excellent choice, Seto. You finally got your own title back and the charlatan is now washed up. Serves him right for keeping the truth out of the public eye. Hurry, Seto! We don't have much time left we gotta get to Crona Lawrence, before the world is doomed! We got a planet to be saved!
Seto : Right. Everyone, let's go! Master Grim needs us. Our world is in danger of that occurrence and it's time that I will use the power of Death once more, this time the Shinigami of Japan that is me, will save the day!
All : (cheering)
Shotaro the Dokeshi : Hey, guys! Can I go with you, too?
Seto : No, you must stay and think about the consequences of what you've done. You'll be happy when Shinra Kusakabe returns as a human in two years. (Everyone except for Shotaro leaves)
Shotaro the Dokeshi : W-Wait! I'm begging you guys! Don't tell anyone that I told you before, they'll kill me!
"The world is about have it's end and I'm not going to let that happen."
"I'll prove anything that I can show the world what a Death God can be"
"Japan is where I belong and I will not let anyone destroy the planet by their wicked ways."
"The face of true evil must die!"
"Shinigami... It's been a while since you ate me..." Yuma tried looking around for her pudgy partner. Admittedly, she missed the feeling of being caught and digested within Shinigami's flabby mass, but the death god wasn't around when she needed her. Not looking where she was going, the lilal-haired detective ended up bumping into a gigantic ball of pink flesh. Yuma did a double take.
Huge and taut, the pink, groaning mass seemed to eclipse her whole vision, dipping down to the floor and extending way up above her head, rising and falling. Angry bumps popped up along its surface; the sign of something, or somethings, stirring unquietly within. It didn't seem human at all... except for the small, shallow hole on the bottom side, a cute little reminder that this was indeed, a human gut. Yuma put her hands about the massive sphere, and heard a furtive moan all the way on the other side behind it. It was her, for sure.
"Is that you, Shinigami? How many... people are in this thing?" Yuma hesitantly patted the surface of Shinigami's car-sized cage of a belly. It seemed to grow and shrink with the squirming, panicked motions of the living food within. She figured the death god didn't have any qualms about unwilling prey, unlike herself.
"I kind of lost track around the tenth guy, to be honest..." Shinigami turned around, floating in midair, angling her impossibly stuffed gut away from the detective to get a better look at her, before turning back and pressing her belly into Yuma's. The meaty weight was impossible for Yuma to question, as Shinigami grinned from behind it, herding her to the wall.
"It just felt sooooo good... You can-HOUUUURP... feel 'em wriggling, can't you, Master?" She kept advancing upon the detective, shoving her into a corner, forcing her to confront the mountain of churning, digesting prey. "Go ahead! Feel 'em up." Now with her waist pinned and enveloped by the large mass, Yuma could feel each futile thrash, each sickening gurgle, and each horny moan... She didn't exactly have a choice.
"Rrrghh, you're lucky I feel jealous of them instead of terrified, y'know..."
SP sees Ichigo as a character that insecure teenager boys (even adults) can self insert into to fuel their toxic masculinity.
Depicting him as a human being that can be vulnerable and in denial of his feelings because it hurts is a disgrace according to them.
They also added a scene where he glared at Ginjo after the latter had stolen his powers, didn't they ?
The first subtitute shinigami was getting scared as he was looking at Ichigo's fearless stare.
Tell me one reason why he would be afraid of a powerless guy other than "his manly aura intimidate me !"
As for their IR fillers, aside from ep 342 and this, they always focus on Rukia's side (being jealous, crying, staring at him longer) because it's all part of their strategy to represent this male alpha whom the woman is crushing on.
Wonder how fade to black would play out if Kubo was not chosen to oversee the scenario ? Probably, Rukia crying when she finally remembered Ichigo while he's looking at the horizon nonchalantly.
Getting back to the main issue, they animated that panel by making a collection of Ichigo's badass moments ( fighting kenpachi, byakuya, having a hollow mask, mugetsu , this is as far as I can remember).
They basically depicted Ichigo as a character who wants to get his powers back because he wants to look cool again for the sake of his fragile machismo
In short, I don't think it had anything to do with ships in particular. The problem is that ichiruki in the FB arc was mainly Ichigo sided which didn't push their agenda.
just another day of remembering how pierrot did not animate this :/
#like Kubo demeaned Ichigo's character#comments not really he just didn't let you use him to fuel your machismo#one of many reasons why I don't watch shonen anymore#feel free to delete it OP ! I already saved it as drafts#Bleich rants
pt 2 of falling into their s/os boobs w byakuya, gin and rukia ? shuhei in the first part LMAO
Byakuya
His dedication to his work is his downfall
With Renji off on a mission, he must rely on another officer to assist with the paperwork. Their buxom figure a trait lost on him as long as they work hard
Diligent, Byakuya rushes through the paperwork as they hand it to him. And when he turned to receive another pile his face landed squarely in their cleavage
He is mortified. But with his typical Kuchiki cool he scoffs once with an, “apologies.”
The captain then chooses to handle all his own paperwork on his own until Renji comes back, and has a much better reason than his standard aloofness to stay in his office all day until then
Gin
If you don’t think that sly fox planned this, then you’re about as dumb as he thinks you are
Cleverly disgusted (as always) as one of his innocent gestures, Gin would try to pass you in a hall and suddenly trip on his captain’s robes before you
Falling over with a ‘oh no…’ he would have no choice but to use the ballistic safety of your bosom
Using their bounty to cushion his fall as, as a captain, he couldn’t have his face or haori marked by such a clumsy fall
He would of course play it off like a happy accident. One that is somehow your fault, which he quickly forgives
Rukia
Being a petite woman all her life, Rukia has been a little envious of other ladies with large breasts
She always plays it off as they are ridiculous, and her slender frame is a much better form for her Shinigami duties and fighting. But she is still jealous
After a particularly long day of work together, she and some of the others go out to drink. Her well-endowed friend glomped her in a big, drunken hug after one too many
Trapped between her breasts and strong arms, Rukia can only flounder red faced as she tried to get away
Maybe large breasts had their own fighting advantages after all
(part i)
Whilst watching the anime did you at any point think that Ichigo & Rukia could’ve had a chance (since that’s what a lot of ppl that just watched the anime thought would’ve happened) before you read the manga, it’s quite obvious that the anime was biased towards a certain ship. Or was it always Ichihime for you ?
I started with the anime only. I went into it knowing about the ichiruki fandom popularity, and was fully expecting to ship ichiruki. And as I watched the first arc (AotS), I did see a few moments that definitely seemed to be hinting at an IR romance.
...Only to find out later on when I read the manga: all of those moments were anime-only filler. I explain more on that below.
But still, at that point, I was an anime-only fan. And then the next arc, the SS arc, began. And I was confused. Because a majority of the "shippy" moments of the SS arc went to RenRuki and IchiHime instead of IchiRuki. I talked about that more here in this post.
So the ships seemed up in the air to me. Because there were definite romantic IR hints in the first arc (or, so I thought, not realizing they were filler). But IH and RR were now presenting themselves as strong contenders for canon as well.
And then the arrancar arc began and IchiHime came in swinging like a wrecking ball. And the moment Ichigo bowed before Orihime, looked her sincerely in the eyes, and vowed to protect her, I just knew it would be canon.
But I kept in mind that I had only ever seen the anime at that point. And I thought, "well, maybe the anime is distorting things and downplaying IR while playing up IH/RR with fillers."
At which point, I decided to read the manga from the start to see for myself what was filler, and what was canon.
Come to find out, the few moments that I did think were hinting towards an IchiRuki romance?
They were all filler.
Linked below are episodes on crunchyroll with timestamps:
Episode 8 @ 15:05 The random shinigami dude who shows up and accuses Rukia of being in a relationship with Ichigo while blushing i.e. "are you finding pleasure with a human boy?" while she gets all flustered and tells him it's none of his business? Filler. (Literally, the animation team created a whole ass filler character just to tease at some IR romance that didn't exist lmao).
Episode 11 @ 4:10 Orihime watches Ichigo and Rukia run off together at school, followed by Orihime wondering if they're dating? Filler.
Episode 15 @ 17:40 Ichigo and Rukia staring at each other and awkwardly stumbling over their words, as if they're holding back from confessing their feelings, as the sun sets and soft music plays? Filler.
Episode 18 @ 6:34 Ichigo having a flashback to Rukia's glowing face while he thinks to himself "her place is here" (which immediately follows the peptalk Orihime just gave him, which takes away from an important IH moment 🤦♀️) Filler.
Episode 22 @ 12:04 Ichigo staring longingly at SS as the sunsets as if he's staring/thinking about Rukia? Filler. (And this moment actually replaced the canon moment of Ichigo offering Orihime a drink while she was healing Jidanbo.)
Episode 146 @ 20:04 Nel getting jealous of Rukia and demanding to know what her relationship is with Ichigo? Filler.
So, when I read the manga, I realized that all of these seemingly romantic shippy ichiruki moments didn't actually exist.
Meanwhile, I was introduced to a lot of canon IchiHime moments I had never seen before in the anime, such as Orihime's feelings for Ichigo being introduced in chapter two, Orihime and Ichigo meeting up on the way to Urahara's house, Ichigo bringing Orihime a drink while she healed Jidanbo, the guys in SS wondering if Orihime has a boyfriend and then saying "definitely" when they see her walking with Ichigo, etc. All of those moments were left out of the anime.
So, essentially, in the first two arcs, the anime added in some heavy-handed filler IchiRuki content, while removing canon IchiHime content.
And by doing so, they effectively bamboozled so many people into thinking IR was romantic and endgame. Especially those who only ever watched the anime and were fooled by all the filler.
The anime got better about all the butchering once the arrancar arc began, but by then, I think it was too late. The damage was already done. So many people had already declared IR as their otp and were reluctant to jump ship--especially to the ship they had already spent so much time bashing.
