I know the game isn't even out yet but I've already seen some really lukewarm takes about castti. I'm begging you all don't do to her what everyone did to ophilia. these are actual characters with agency and emotion beyond mom friend-ifying them
#octopath traveler#octopath 2#ophilia clement#castti florenz#a lot of ophilias stuff was quite between the lines - a child of war who believes she owes her life to the sacred flame + is deeply lonely#she thinks the only worth she has is in being a healer and helpful so she's not a burden to others. so she will shoulder everyone's burdens#as well as her own. she starts a holy pilgrimage because she thinks her sister deserves to stay by their ill father's side more than her.#and when lianna does... chapter 4 things ophilia gets PISSED. like this is the only time shes ever seen as remotely angry.#shes so betrayed in that moment#and then you have castti who is clearly not okay. she's very blunt and talks like a zombie.#she's clearly got something shady going on with Eir's Apothecaries. she has an underlying sharp edge to her.#one of her battle lines is literally#'there is no cure for evil.'#like. please don't mom friend her she has DEPTH she is clearly not an 100% cut and dry Good Kind Person#and thats okay!! your healer can be a dick. look at temenos.#side note is it really a coincidence the male healers get depth to them in this fandom but the female ones get a cookie cutter personality#eh.#anyway thank you for reading my rant.

Sometimes I think about when Minthara first joins camp after you save her from Moonrise. She sits in her tent, alone at night, surrounded by strangers who she believes have every reason to kill her. She sits there paranoid, feeling that they will just kill her at any moment for any reason. You have earned a small sliver of her trust, but not completely. And she goes along with you and everyone because she really doesn't have much of a choice. And it's not like her fears are unfounded, some of the companions do state their reservations about her when she is first recruited (and one of the companions actually does want her dead if a certain datamine ever gets added to the game).
She only comes to completely trust you when you allow her to read your mind. But, it doesn't clear her of any paranoia with the other companions. She only trusts them because you trust them, and she trusts you.
In spite of this paranoia and fear, she is still willing to risk her life to protect them and save them from whatever trouble comes their way. Even if she won't admit it, she does care about all the companions in camp. Yes, even the wizard. But she feels that none of them will ever lift a finger for her and will let her die when she needs help the most.
One of the many reasons why Orin kidnapping her is so heartbreaking. Because ALL of the companions want to go and save her and get her back from Orin. And one of them is extremely outraged and pissed that Orin had the audacity to take her Minthara away from her. The one time the companions show unanimous love and support for Minthara, she isn't even there to hear it. If only she knew how much they wanted her back, she would probably stop being so paranoid of them.
And she attends the reunion party still thinking that nobody likes her and they all hang out without her. When in reality, they all love her. She is surrounded by people who love her, and she thinks they hate her and are still plotting to kill her. And it's all because she wasn't there to hear how much they do care about her.
#baldur's gate 3#minthara bg3#minthara#minthara baenre#if there is anybody who needs a group hug it's minthara#girl is so terrified of everyone and everything around her#afraid that she will be betrayed by them at any moment#but everyone comes to love her for who she is#and they would all do anything to help her when she needs them#also why the underdark ending as a default ending for her is so sad because she goes down there alone#feeling that she has no reason to remain on the surface and she's better off trying to conquer her house instead#fighting a fight that she already fears she will die in#and she would end up dying alone#and she has expressed on numerous occasions just how terrified she is of dying alone#i wonder if she would choose to stay on the surface if she knew how much everyone wanted her there#especially Karlach

#shinee#taemin#lee taemin#shinee taemin#kpop#dailyshinee#kpopccc#malegroupsnet#ksoloists#dailybg#smsource#kpopstages#the stage lighting for this performance was so stunningly well done. It's such a cinematic song and GOSH does the lighting reflect that wel#especially the beginning and ending (1st + last gifs)... damn.. they looked like paintings almost and i just had to gif this video#and then look at that part of the stage where the lights go dark blue and you can barely see him through the dim!!! gorgeous! GORGEOUS!#tho of course it's taemin himself that makes it all so artistic. but i betrayed him a little this time and picked moments to gif based on#the pretty stage lighting and not him/his dance 🤭🤭 sorry taem~♡ (doesnt matter cause he'll look good in every clip anyway 😉)#it's cool to see when he has control over the stages (like.. not a festival or con perf where he's guesting) there's and extra#flare of artistry added to the mix (like the lighting). it's 100% on purpose and u can tell 💛💛💛 little artist guy~♡#(i'm also about to post this and Guilty comes on. she's come. it's fate <3)

Okay there’s a lot about Mikio asking Mizu to show him all of herself and then rejecting her but like. “Unsheathe it. Show me your blade.” This from Mizu, who fully believes the whole “the sword is the soul of the samurai” thing, basically asking the same of Mikio. Show me your blade; show me your soul; show me who you are. And she even throws him her sword, because she is truly giving him all of herself in this scene, and she wants the same of him. Honesty. Openness. Truth. And ultimately he does show her who he is, and it fucks them, because who he is is a man who cannot handle her as she really is. Unsheathing their blades ruins them, because it uncovers the truth: they were never compatible, not as who they really are. It was always a lie, a performance; a pretty dream that cannot withstand the light of day
#blue eye samurai#blue eye samurai spoilers#and Mizu did enjoy this quiet peaceful life that got ripped away from her in this moment#but it wasn’t complete because she wasn’t her whole self#but she thought it could be and he betrayed and rejected that trust#but that’s part of what’s so tragic about it#they wanted it to work#MIZU wanted it to work#she trusted and believed she could be herself around him and he revealed himself to be a huge dickhead about it#I feel completely normal about this show why do you ask

The common thread tying together how mxtx treats all her well-rounded character across all her works is that a character's past is as real as their actions. That means that a character's tragic past is a key part of their character and should be considered while analyzing them. It also means that their actions are also their own and must be considered when analyzing them. One does not negate the other. The trauma that a character experiences in the narrative is not erased by their shitty actions, but those experiences also don't redeem their immoral behavior. Everyone must live with the consequences of their chosen actions, regardless of what drove them to make those choices. That is the lesson.

revisiting a funny concept here. i think krypto has a mental ranking of the bats and its something like this:
kon. kon isn't a bat? krypto doesn't care kon is his favorite ever!!!
dick. actively enjoys and encourages krypto to toss him around in the air. will sit on the floor and hold out his arms and let krypto bowl him over. also he's clark's favorite so he gets EXTRA bonus points.
tim. squeaky toy. goes "eep!" when he gets tossed around. kon's favorite of the bats, which has a significant influence on krypto's opinion.
cass. kon's other favorite bat, but loses points slightly because one time she ate one of krypto's treats in front of him and he never forgave, never forgot.
damian. loves dogs. often has treats. often smells like other dogs. gives good ear scritches.
steph. also gives good ear scritches and is niceys to him. doesn't have treats as often as damian though.
babs. niceys to him, but he doesn't particularly see her often. her voice modulators make him do the head tilts.
bruce. clark likes him well enough but krypto thinks he smells weird. he also wears so much black and complains about white dog hair.
alfred. he doesn't like dog hair, dog slobber, or being licked on the back of the head at superspeed. fuck this guy. krypto will stare him down and lift his leg against an antique couch, see if he doesn't.
#rimi talks#sometimes ive had the thought of ''i wonder what this tastes like?'' while holding my dog's treats#and i have never actually given into that impulse. but i know cass cain would#she doesn't even stop to think about it she's like huh that smells interesting. chomp. and kon's like THAT WAS KRYPTO'S!!!#krypto looks SO betrayed. big sad wet eyes. turns to kon. wags the very tip of his tail like pwease? theres more for me... isnt there?#i had the thought of putting helena bertinelli on this list also but i have no idea when krypto would meet her#mayhaps if tim is breaking into her apartment at the exact moment at which krypto goes ''i need to take tim for walkies''#(tim does not take krypto for a walk. krypto takes tim for a walk.)#i also have no idea where to put duke on this list bc i have not read a single post flashpoint comic that doesnt have kon in it oops skjdhf#i STARTED to read robin war or something but i didnt really like it. ill go back one day for him...#but in the meantime i still have souperfam comics to read <3333#krypto

Lego Monkie Kid Rewatch: Season 3
Episode 9, The King, the Prince, the Shadow Part 2/2
"Does anyone else feel like-" "We've been here before? Yeah. Its weird, right? But- I ah- know I haven't." "Me neither. And yet this place feels so familiar." "Nah. Not me, man. This is all new to me."
Remember when I said that a lot of characters keep wrongly comparing MK to Wukong, like MK is supposed to be the next Wukong. Well…. that wasn't just at the characters. That was at us the fans too. Up until this season, I too just thought of MK as the next Monkey King. It just felt right. Pigsy was Zhu Bajie, Tang Tang Sanzang, Mei as Ao Lie, and Sandy as Sha Wujing. Simplistically, I assumed MK was supposed to be this new version's Monkey King. But he's not. He's not like the rest. He's not part of their story- at least he wasn't supposed to be.
MK was never meant to be here... to experience this, or them. And this season is when the show really starts opening our eyes to it.
(Also… I think this proves pretty definitively that Sandy is not the still alive Sha Wujing. With his flashback in To Catch a Leaf, I was so sure. I mean, look at those old looking weaponry?!)
(But unless Sha Wujing has amnesia that conveniently lets him forget the Samadhi Fire incident, than he really is just the reincarnation instead of the original.)
"It is on brand for you to have a worse version of everyone elses powers."
Ouch. Also… is this a hint at Macaque having been a clone of Wukong once upon a time? Like, in Shadow Play, Macaque chooses to feature a lot of Wukong and his clones for some reason, especially when speaking of the Warrior and Hero being a team. Strangely, some of those clones look an awful lot like Macaque.
Or could this be a hint at season 5 where its revealed Macaque's shadow powers are more like certain other being who shall not be named for sake of spoilers?
Loud Annoying Wukong: "What? You got what you wanted, didn't you? Not going to gloat, monologue a little bit before scurrying off to your master?"
Inner Panicking Wukong: "Ah drat! He's totally gonna know those are fake. Quick! I gotta distract him into wasting more time!"
"Wukong!"
I'm pretty sure that's Ne Zha's favourite word. He says it almost every second. Might even be his catch phrase.
"Oh, so the piece of paper just magically made a bunch of light!" "That's exactly what happened and you know it!"
Ah, I love these two.
"Stop! If you hurt that kid I'll-" "What. Make things worse for MK?"
Like I said last time, bad hero, good mentor. He cares about MK more than anything else right now. This same kind of protective passion has happened before, back in the Journey to the West. Wukong is good at devoting himself to one person, and tolerating everyone else for the sake of that person.
"Glowy mystic symbol thingies are always never good!"
Proceeds to touch said glowy mystic symbol thingies.
AWWWW! Tang trying to protect Mei!
I love the majority of the adults in this show. They do their best to help the kiddos and protect them, even when those kiddo's are typically more powerful than them. Tang, Pigsy, and Sandy understand that young one's always need to be cared for.
THIS SHOT THIS SHOT THIS SHOT!
I totally missed this shot the first time around! OH MY GOSHNESS SANDY I LOvE YOU!
Once again Macaque forgets about Mei.
I'm starting to see why she and Macaque were put in a team together in season 4. She is, strangely enough, his blind spot.
And once again I am shaking my head at the way the show treated Macaque's supposed redemption arc. Look at the way he's treating her, the way he's treating them all! The fear and pain he causes them!
Bashes MK repeatedly into the ground until he is unconscious.
Threatens Mei's life while holding her by the throat.
Forces the parental figures to watch their kids get ruined.
Forces Tang to choose the life of his friends over the sake of the world.
The trauma this guy is causing them- and they just never bring it up? Mei should have held the largest grudge Katara style until Macaque made it up to her! Tang should be absolutely afraid to go near Macaque after the moral trauma the simian caused him. Pigsy should throw a spoon at him every time he darkens his door way with all his ping pong master might. Sandy should constantly keep Macaque between himself and the kids as a protective barrier everytime the shadow comes around.
Until Macaque makes it up to them, apologizes and tries to do right by them all... they should have continued to treat him with fear, anger, and wariness.
"But he was under LBD control' you say. 'He had no choice."
No he wasn't. This threatening, this danger he puts them in? That was for his own gain. Macaque wanted the Samadhi Fire to escape LBD. He was in control of his actions here. He was going to take the power needed to break her control over him and then dip, leaving the mortals to parish under LDB's rule. Sure, he was probably in pain and obviously scared for his life- but that doesn't excuse the choices he made and the trauma he caused.
It's like Macaque said last episode. You have to look out for yourself, no one else.
#lego monkie kid season 3#lmk mei#lmk macaque#lmk wukong#lmk tang#lmk pigsy#lmk mk#Katara was justified in her anger and distrust of Zuko#Sure I think she held onto it for far too long and was a little unfair#especially since he was actively working to make it up to her and the gang#but she trusted him#was vulnerable with him#and he betrayed her in an event that caused her friends death#that was traumatic for her#Aang's life was soley her responsibility in that moment thanks to Zuko#so yeah she was tough on him during his redemption arc#Mei is just as protective of her friends as Katara#she was willing to absolutely destroy Red Son for attempting to kill MK that one time#and now we have Macaque#who is responsible for some of her most traumatic experiences#as well beating up MK emotionally and psychologically#MK may be more like Aang in that he is willing to give others a chance even after they abuse his willingness to be vulnerable with them#But Mei is definitely more like Katara willing to throw down tsunamis for the people she is loyal to#lego monkie kid

Already said this but since everybody is too busy on the failmance happening im gonna say it again: Vi starting their confrontation by saying “never thought [my sister] would orphan kids” only to be stopped from killing jinx. By an orphan kid.
#its about how jinx specifically calls vi her sister. thats WHY she has to kill her she wont balk from that#but vi disowns her as a sister (crazy bc she was her only blood family but thats nbd in zaun) bc thats the only way she can kill jinx#vi just GASSED zaun and is a COP now jinx should be disowning her#it wouldve been SO good if jinx flipped the s1 finale situation#and started asking what vander or mylo or claggor would think while wearing his stolen goggles#if vi wasnt so hot yall would actually call out her bad decisions or red flags but go off ig#bc this scene is also after she watched jayve KILL a kid. not even orphan one! and she was LITERALLY like ‘so? kids be dying.’#anyway the fact that isha is also aware of cait trying to shoot jinx so she hugs her. puts her head in the mf WAY on purpose#and vi has to have the same moment as jayce. ‘what have we done’ you became the very thing you swore to hate sweetheart :))#to have a child from zaun. your home btw. look at you in an enforcer uniform and shes full of fear and rightous fury.#its that day on the bridge again. vi had that same look in her eyes when vander carried her away. when did her lines and her values become#so easy to sway. well bc she loves someone of course. but she betrays you too. i can only laugh#its stupid bc s1 jinx is literally only doing what vi grew up wanting to do for vander. like actually.#bc its the same that they cannot steal from topside so it wouldve meant stealing and fighting and eventually killing people in oposition#like your sister was building nail bombs at 9 years old. you encouraged her. ‘theyll work eventually’ and then she kills and vis like 😰😰🤢🤢#bc she only sees silco. ugh kill me#can somebody talk about THEM please yknow one of the main focuses of the show#arcane#netflix arcane#arcane season 2#arcane s2#arcane spoilers

I never even considered that parallel, that Anya would have an ignorance to (or at least, vain hope against) Jimmy abusing Curly with his meds. Because they're friends, because she hopes he wouldn't be as callous with Curly as he is with her, because Curly even said himself "I know him." Incorporating that into my world view.
I don't think Anya thinks Jimmy is a good man, but I do believe she would think he'd be reasonable enough not to raise tensions in a situation this bad. She genuinely wants to believe that in their worst moment Jimmy won't be a monster.
Everything has gone wrong. Curly is gravely injured and she is doing everything she can to keep him clinging to life, despite believing he caused this. Swansea has relapsed and is constantly arguing with Jimmy. Daisuke is trying to stay positive but in a way it just reminds everyone of how hopeless it all is. And to top it all off Jimmy is defiantly losing it with all he's trying to do and the responsibility he can't handle.
Anya wants to believe that no matter how angry, how bad and awful he could get with her, he'd at the very least show decency to one person who tried to show some semblance of care to everyone. The one person that always stuck by his side. The person who confided in him and maybe told him how he was struggling instead of her. I don't think it's guilt but she regrets not prying more with Curly, making him admit what's wrong because it was her responsibility to help and she gave him the okay. I like to think even if she never realized Curly didn't crash the ship, Jimmy was the real reason or a big part of why he did and is why she tried to keep Curly from him in death.
It's Curly's worse moment and she's hoping Jimmy will be less of a monster for it. She knows she's hoping on what would basically be a miracle but it's the only thing she has left keeping her going.
#like seriously i think anya felt some weird feeling about Curly obviously not doing well and it being her job to make sure he was in a good#headspace both to fly the ship and deal with personal conflicts and maybe she was also too leinent in letting him off but at the same time#she knows she couldn't have made him open up to her cause thats his choice and otherwise he passed by PE standard but still it picks at the#back of her mind this isnt her fault but is it all Curly's? She sees how Jimmy hovers him in medical and the trails of venomous whispers#hes taunting his friend in his worse moment and she can assume its betrayal but theres something in his eyes his actions even his words#he was not the one betrayed and she has no evidence other than her gut feeling to prove it#mouthwashing#mouthwashing game#nurse anya#anya mouthwashing#curly mouthwashing#captain curly#jimmy mouthwashing#i do not ship curly and anya but they are like two striaght people who everyone assumes is dating due to some weird bond tension they have#going on but its just a deep mutual respect and mouthwashing makes them so much more tragic like i like to play with them like house#ask#enigminho

Welp, I just did the embrace Bhaal ending with Daedra and I gotta say, this is objectively the worse ending. And it is very much the ending I never wanted for her. Because this was always going to be the ending for a Durge who embraced Bhaal. And Minthara being killed was always going to be her ending too. What makes all of this worse is that Minthara saw it coming too, she just did not realize it.
When she first tells you about Orin, she criticizes Orin by saying that if she could turn the plot of the Absolute towards slaughter, she would take it. Minthara also criticizes Orin for wanting to be Daddy's Little Girl who would do anything to please Bhaal. She perceives these to be character flaws within Orin. Sadly her analysis is incorrect, because these are innate characteristics of Bhaalspawn in general, including Durge. All Bhaalspawn are born with the same urges: kill other Bhaalspawn, breed more Bhaalspawn, and then kill everything. Of course, a Bhaalspawn can fight these urges. But it is a never ending fight, one we see Durge struggle with throughout the entire story. They only "beat" these urges by having Bhaal's blood removed from them.
But because Minthara sees these as character flaws within Orin, she fails to see them in Durge as well. And when Minthara learns that Durge is a Bhaalspawn, of course she is elated. Durge is the child of a god. A deeply religious Minthara would obviously admire that, almost as far as borderline worshiping Durge (cause old habits die hard). She truly believes that Durge is nothing like Orin and would never be anything like Orin, and she has to believe this to be true because she does not want to be afraid of Durge like she is of Orin.
Despite popular belief, Minthara is indeed capable of love and has a strong desire for it. I have always read Minthara as a person who strongly wants what she feels she cannot have. And in Menzoberranzan, genuine love is frowned upon (or at least making it known). So of course she wants it. And there is no shame in that. It is trust that she struggles with, and she always has good reason to be distrustful. And the moment she became an exile, we see her start to deconstruct her previous ways of life, but with great difficulty as it is hard to let go of the only things you have ever known. She wants to love, she wants to trust, she doesn't want to be afraid, and she doesn't want to kill her lovers.
Thanks to the business with the Absolute, Minthara finds herself in a unique position in which she actually can read someone else's mind. And for the first time in her life, she has guaranteed certainty that the person that she loves won't hurt her, or betray her, or use and abuse her, or kill her. And that was a promise Durge made to her. And so she openly embraced Durge with everything that she has and becomes devoted.
Sadly, devotion is Minthara's fatal flaw. There is nothing wrong with being devoted to someone or some god, of course. But Minthara is too devoted in which her devotion makes her blind, and she has spent so much of her life being devoted to someone other than herself, and she does not know how to live a life without being devoted to someone. She does not realize the crux of her devotion until she is turned into a sacrificial lamb by Orin. It is Minthara who questions the worth of devotion if it only leads to death and she starts to become a little more selective of who she devotes herself to. Cause she was once devoted to Orin and was willing to be devoted to Bhaal if given the chance, and yet she was still put on that altar. But this never happens if Orin never takes her.
Edit: I forgot that Patch 7 added in the second part of Minthara's dialogue about Orin. Meaning Minthara can still come to question the worth of devotion, even without being a kidnap victim to Orin. However, she questions her devotion after Durge has made their choice in regards to Bhaal. Despite her beginning to question devotion, she still remains devoted to Durge as she perceives Durge as her savior, and not being like Lolth or the Absolute or Bhaal.
Her devotion to Lolth, still ended with her being abandoned (or so she feels) and left vulnerable to the Absolute, because her devotion to Lolth did not make her an exception. Her devotion to the Absolute still led to her mind being ripped apart, because her devotion to the Absolute did not make her an exception. Minthara may be of a feline nature, but she does not have nine lives and cannot always get lucky. Every time she has devoted herself to someone, it always led her close to the grave. Her devotion to Durge, encouraging Durge to embrace who they are, will get her rewarded with death. And death was always going to be her reward.
And of course she thinks this could never happen to her. She read Durge's mind and Durge did show her that they would never hurt her. That Durge would never do to her what Lolth or the Absolute did, or even previous lovers did to her. That her devotion would be rewarded with mutual devotion. But this is coming from a Durge who has not embraced Bhaal just yet and does not yet want to become Daddy's Special Baby. And Minthara is not stupid for believing that Durge was sincere. No one wants to believe that the person that they love would ever hurt them. That does not make someone stupid or weak. Minthara could only read Durge's mind, not Durge's future.
When Durge embraces Bhaal, she still believes them to be the same exact person with the same exact desires as when she read their mind. Durge has finally followed her advice and embraced themselves, become exactly what she always saw them to be. Durge is now on the path to ascension, to true godhood. And Minthara's proximity to it all will keep her safe from all threats because she would be that god's consort. She can finally have a life without fear or distrust. She will have a god to worship, someone to love, and a new house in Durge's name. She will have everything she could have ever wanted and all she had to do was be devoted. All she had to do was be herself.
In that moment, her devotion to Durge makes her blind to the reality that Durge has changed and has become the very thing she herself criticized about Orin. She still believes that Durge won't hurt her and that Durge won't use the Absolute as a tool for slaughter. Her devotion makes her blind to the fact that Bhaal is like Lolth and the Absolute and most certainly will use Durge like a puppet. Her devotion makes her blind to the reality that Durge has only become a master of their urges, because they are willfully giving in to them and no longer fighting them. And the urge wants to kill everything, no exceptions. Her devotion makes her blind to the knife that Durge will inevitably turn against her, because her devotion was never going to make her an exception.

Staging concept: Ophelia carries around a book that she uses to press different flowers and plants. At one point we see her actually pressing one of the flowers Hamlet's given her before, and we get the impression that she wouldn't part with this book for the world. During the "Get thee to a nunnery" scene, Hamlet rips the book out of her hands, and she goes diving after it to make sure he didn't damage it. And during her final "mad scene", she starts tearing out the relevant pages (rosemary, pansies, fennel, columbines, etc.) to give to everyone present. Laertes is the only one to get the significance of his sister giving away parts of her prized possession, and it adds an extra layer to his grief.
#Some extra foreshadowing and a way to organically work in the book she's given in Act 3 Scene 1...#Listen I have a lot of feelings about how to stage Ophelia's final scene--for me it needs to be about *her*grief first and foremost.#It's so grossly easy to play it voyeuristically but this is a young woman who's been let down by everyone she thought she could trust#and now she's come to her lowest point where nothing feels like it matters anymore.#And that needs to hit the other characters present like a truck--they could have done something to actually *help* her#instead of using her for their own agendas but they didn't.#And for Laertes especially... that's his baby sister and he wasn't there for her and now he's watching her destroy something she loves.#Maybe he tries to give her the page back but she pushes it at him and there's a moment of agonizing eye contact between them#where he knows she still loves him but she's never felt so betrayed by everyone and there's nothing he can do to make it right.#hamlet#ophelia#shakespeare#the schemer speaks

Physically I'm here but mentally I'm clawing the eyes out of everyone who talks crap about their children on the internet and posts them in their most vulnerable moments for clout
#i just saw a video of a like eleven or twelve year old girl approach her mom's car when she got home from work and without even saying hello#to her kid she yelled at her to go inside so she could talk to her husband first and then shouted at the kid when she said her dad put her#through hell that day. is she probably overreacting bc shes a kid and she doesnt have get emotional regulation yet? absolutely. but also?#as the kid who knew that if i didnt get to my mom with my side of things first that my dad would twist things to make himself look like the#victim in a situation i promise you that baby girl isnt feeling heard and that would be sucky but normal on its own. the type of thing#families work through together yknow? but to post that on the internet??? to be recording when you come home knoeing there are problems in#your house and wanting to put online forever a moment in time where there are really strained relationships among members of your family??#especially when it's the relationship btwn your husband and your child??? nope. im sorry. uh uh.#that kid deserves better than that. your husband deserves better than that. everyone deserves better than to have their really vulnerable#moments shared on the internet with strangers#like. i think about how i felt as a kid when i found out my parents had told a relative something i considered private. how embarrassed and#betrayed i felt. the thought that EVERYONE would see that instead of just my dad's relatives or w/e?#bby girl im incandescent with rage#anyway#lilac rambles

award for most devil’s sacrament moment of the year goes without a doubt to this morning when my coworker (delivering presentation) (screen projected onto wall in front of me and god and everyone) opened a new tab in google chrome and in the number one spot among the collection of icons for frequently visited websites was. the ao3 logo
#when i tell you it took everything i had in me not to visibly or audibly react#and she didn’t react at all! so either she has a great poker face or didn’t notice or else also subscribes to the whole devil’s sacrament#mindset i.e. ‘well if they recognize it they have no room to judge’#which is of course correct! i’m not judging! i’m simply experiencing The Kinship That Must Never Be Acknowledged very acutely in a public#and professional environment!#this is also not really new information to me like i don’t know for sure if she’s on this website but i could For Sure have pegged her as#an ao3 girlie at least and i’m sure she knows the same about me#(throwback to the runner-up for the most devil’s sacrament moment award from last week when i (clearly online) mentioned that i don’t spend#much time on youtube but i find other ways to waste it and she was like ‘oh such as?’ and i cursed my big mouth and awkwardly went ‘well i#read a lot of fiction’ (true but NOT what we were talking about and we both knew it perfectly well) and then we both had to sit with that)#anyway! mini heart attack moment for sure seeing that symbol in that context but fun times overall :)#and this is why i will never ever open ao3 in a non-incognito tab lest my computer too decide to betray me. forever amen#[REDACTED] on the OFF CHANCE YOU END UP READING THIS and recognize yourself and thus learn my online identity. please don’t tell anyone#let’s keep the devil’s sacrament between us#caseyposting
