Okay, but why did they write Sheila like that? Like she gets next to no screen time, despite viewing the girls as family, and then suddenly doesn't want Darryl covering for them anymore (which don't get me wrong, she's valid for it but it's a 180 reversal of the like one personality we had going for her) and like. The sisters needed friends, and Sandra Prosper is on the show for nine episodes but they just. stick her in the background, give her a line or two, and that's it. And I mean, Darryl is a main character for seven seasons, and she's his wife. Even though he wasn't one of the main main characters, you'd think they'd do literally anything with her like c'mon.

Man in a Suitcase: The Whisper (1.16, ITC, 1968)
"McGill! Don't be contemptuous, nor disbelieve me. I do know things. Be careful! I see death when I look at you... walking by your side."
"Oh, well don't worry about him, sir, we're old friends."

Pat Allen's plantation owner is of course an ignorant and repugnant racist with white supremacist assumptions but it#takes McGill WAY too long to actually react to that (and by extension‚ perhaps‚ it takes the script too long also). he gets a brief#broadly anti colonial monologue at the end of the ep‚ but there's little to show he truly appreciates the issues; nor is there ever any#evidence that his opinion is ever influenced by the black characters around him‚ instead his railing against Allen seems to come as much#from his own personal dislike of the man and his growing understanding of Blakely as he is now (and not as he was in the files and reports)#Bradford‚ incidentally‚ was delighted to find Blakely had been cast in the series again‚ and writer Farhi was similarly starstruck

Honestly, I'd have preferred if they actually gave Darryl a few more plotlines so that we could have a better idea of what he wanted outside of his job. That said, I'd love a reconciliation arc between him and the sisters where they're genuinely apologetic for everything that they put him through.
Along with that, I think that it'd have been neat for Darryl to get an arc about trying to get promoted to this job that seems safe and pays better and is behind a desk, and he gets it because of something that he does, not the sisters. (Although you could totally have it as him having his own big hero moment or something. My personal vote is to include Darryl in a witch hunters arc bc a) I liked witch hunters as antagonists and b) mortal v mortal works out better.) And he's all posed to take it but then takes a step back and reconsiders and decides to turn it down (a la Paige with her social worker job) because he wants to be able to directly help people and that job is great but he can't help people in the same way.
Because I just really like leaning into the fact that Darryl always wanted to help people, even when it was difficult or bizarre (magic). Admittedly, we also don't get nearly enough screentime with him to not have it related to his job but whatever.
Additionally, I think that his ending shot should be with Sheila and the boys and the sisters, tying it altogether as a "we're like family" type of deal. Have him be a feature in the finale montage throughout the years of both the sisters in his and his family's lives and him in them and their family's lives.
you know this is going to be a poll but first this is going to be a socratic seminar
what would have been the best ending for darryl in canon / post canon
you can modify this plotlines however u choose

The ask prompts ask number who knows what I’ve already lost count:
victor and henry sr bonding as mortals in a magical family
Pairing: Victor Bennett & Henry Mitchell
Background Pairing: Paige Matthews/Henry Mitchell, Victor Bennett & Paige Matthews
Walking into the living room, Victor immediately realized what the problem was. Henry had his face buried in his hands and was perfectly still, a posture that Victor more than recognized from his early years.
Settling into the armchair opposite of his son-in-law, Victor waited. Henry finally looked up, something wild in his eyes.
"I traveled to the future."
Okay, so that one wasn't exactly in Victor's expertise. He'd seen the effects of time travel a few times: a time loop tormenting his daughter, his grandson making a desperate bid to save his family and world, and even his dead ex-wife visiting him. He'd never once gotten caught in any of that himself, however, which was probably preferable. While his daughters and grandchildren had (would?) knew the dangers of meddling in time, Victor had a list of regrets that he knew he'd never be able to resist fixing if given the opportunity. Being there for his daughters. Sparing them the trauma of demons preying on their trust and betraying them. Finding Paige two decades earlier. Saving Patty and Prue from dying so young.
Unaware of Victor's thoughts, Henry continued, "Paige and I were talking about raising kids with magic, and Wyatt-"
"Sent you to the future to see what it'd be like," Victor finished. Piper had warned him about being careful what he said in front of his oldest grandson until Wyatt was old enough to better understand his powers. He hadn't gotten the full details of the problems that'd caused, but he knew it'd happened more than once.
Henry nodded and rasped out, "We had twins. Charlotte and Penny. One of them moved all of our living furniture with her mind. The other one accidentally cheated on her science test by seeing the answers in a vision."
Henry buried his face in his hands again and mumbled, "I don't know how to do this."
Victor shuffled over and patted Henry on the back. "Magic is... not easy to deal with. You'll never fully understand it and never fully be a part of this world. Some people can handle that. Some people can't."
If he'd known before he'd married Patty, he doesn't know if he'd had gone through with it. Magic was... terrifying. He had no way of protecting his family, could only watch and hope that they'd be able to save themselves. But life without his girls, even with magic, was one that he didn't want to imagine.
"I love Paige," Henry argued, lifting his head. "It's not just the magic. I'm not- I grew up in the system, I don't-"
That was something that he had more experience with. Well. More of a "what not to do" type of experience. "Parenting is hard. Parenting witches is even harder, especially as a mortal. Now, I didn't do that great of a job of it, but you're not the person I was. More than anything, the thing is being there. You'll make mistakes. There's no getting around it, but being there and trying to fix them are the most important part of being a parent. And from what my girls have told me, including Paige, you're not the type to run when it gets hard, Henry."
Henry had a faint smile as he met Victor's gaze. "Not when it comes to Paige. I love her."
"Is that so?" Paige leaned against the doorway as both men turned to look at her. She smiled, eyes soft. "Good thing I love you, too."
She held her hand out to her husband. "Wyatt wanted to apologize for the magical journey, and I think Phoebe wanted to pry some future information out of you."
Henry rose and took her head with a wry shake of his head. "I don't know if that's how it works."
"I'll distract her for you two," Victor promised. He needed to go find his third daughter anyways, find out about this Coop fellow.

Without further ado...
Tumblr media
One fine day, Mayor GilsCarbo was busy at work in his office when his receptionist called. A prominent businessman was here with a proposal, she said, one that he claimed the Mayor wouldn't be able to resist. Finding this more intriguing than the city planner's reports that he was reviewing, he replied, "Send him in, Sheila."
Tumblr media
It turned out to be none other than Richard Morris, the founder of EveryTech Technologies, and one of the city's top business tycoons. Instead of building seaports or buying trucks, he had a better idea: to send a team into the unexplored fringes of SimNation, establishing a new settlement and scouting the area for valuable resources.
"Sounds good so far. What kind of people are you going to send?" the Mayor asked. Richard grinned, handing over a thick folder. "I'm glad you asked.."
Tumblr media
"We've assembled a group of volunteers, each selected for genetic compatibility and expertise in their respective fields. We hope that they'll not only be able to serve the short term goal of taming the land, but also growing a brand new population of tax-paying individuals."
"Very interesting! So, who are these people?"
Tumblr media
"First we have my son, Jake Morris, leading the expedition. He'll be the liaison between the new settlement and SimCity. If provided a job in your office, of course."
"That I can arrange. Who else?"
Tumblr media
"Mona Lott will be in charge of entertainment and morale, due to her work as an actress."
"Her name sounds very familiar, what was she in?"
"Minor independent productions of a mature nature, as she claimed on her application. Probably some avant-garde, artsy films, but many of my men on the selection committee vouched for her skill."
"Ah yes, I hear she's been praised for her..flexibility."
Tumblr media
"Next we have Solomon Utes, a freelance writer of some renown. He regularly contributes to the SimCity Times, and will be authoring all of the status reports."
"I still remember that scathing article he wrote on Landgraab's nightclub, Malcolm sold the business a month later after that went public. Then he sued Utes, and lost."
Tumblr media
"Brigette LeRoux here is an experienced midwife, and purportedly good with animals. Her skills as a Douser should also come in handy."
"From these satellite photos, it looks like there's a decently large lake in the area. Surely you don't need a psychic to find that."
Tumblr media
"Next we have Amayata Nairi, the civil engineer of the team. She's quite young, she's proven to be quite competent as well. We're confident she'll be able to set up the infrastructure in the settlement, and help connect it to SimCity."
"I'll do what I can to help on my end, if the area proves to be worth the effort."
Tumblr media
"Marf Foobar is a volunteer from my own company. He's quite the convincing salesman, which is why he'll be in charge of public relations and tourism."
"Hmm, I'm sure he'll sell it better than a used Smord."
Tumblr media
"And finally we have Emi Uzuki. She immigrated from Takemizu to attend Sim State University, where she became the youngest Sim to hold a biology degree."
"A prodigy, I see! I'm sure she'll make a fine doctor."
Tumblr media
"So, what do you think?"
"You have a pretty solid team, albeit an odd combination of people. The region you chose looks quite promising, and your requests are very reasonable for a project of this scale. I approve."
"Thank you, Mr. Mayor."
~*~*~*~*~*~
Later that day..
Tumblr media
"Citizens of SimCity, it is my pleasure to introduce the Littlesprings Project.."
-> Next Chapter..

New Scotland Yard: Shock Tactics (1.6, LWT, 1972)
"Nobody's hurt. I went down to get the truth and I got it."
"The truth? Or a conviction?"
"Both. Well, alright, we already knew the truth, but this way we get our conviction too."
"Not 'our' conviction. And the Crown only gets it if this stands up."
"Well, why shouldn't it, it was voluntary. No duress, no threats, no promises."

Normington is our killer and cuts a rather pathetic figure‚ despite the#audience knowing up front that he did indeed plot his wife's death. the question of whether or not it is murder becomes a point#of purely legal technicality‚ out of our leads' hands‚ with just jolly old Ray Smith (on loan from Public Eye) to fight the good fight as#the prosecuting counsel. Middlemass has a rather scene stealing turn as a heavy drinking police surgeon (and gets the best moment in the#episode‚ serving Carlisle a drink in a dirty piece of medical apparatus but assuring him not to worry 'the whisky will sterilise it')

Someone posted about Sheila Morris not being in enough scenes with the charmed ones that show their friendship and I'm like 'Why are you surprised?'
The charmed ones have no female friends that are on the show. Closest to a female frienship outside of sisterhood is Phoebe and Elise. Billie is more of a protegé and not really a friend.
And besides Sheila, there were so many missed opportunities for the charmed ones befriending other witches or other magical beings. I was happy about the magic school plot because it got them involved in the magical world beyond vanquishing demons. They have no conncections to a coven, to wiccan shops and their shop keepers, to other practitioners and so on. They are always super isolated and frankly, make fun ofmost of the traditional aspects of witchcraft (altar rooms, traditional magic in the all halliwells eve ep...and yes, they come to appreciate it but then never use it anymore).

ONLY SO FAR: whos' who above ground.
the world
underground
who's who underground
and of course there are those that reside above the tunnels of below...
David Jacobs: 23. The son of an architect and a museum curator, he’s currently studying law at a top university in England. A bit too quick for his own good, David often knows his opponent’s next move before they do, making his cross-examinations seem more planned ahead than they already are. He’s usually ready for anything, and it’s reasonable for him to chalk it up to precise preparation. But when his father is one of the most precise architects in New York, and his mother answers tourists' questions before they’re even asked, it’s easy to call the Jacobs’ heritage into question.
Sarah Jacobs: 24. Recently broken up with Sheila Conlon. Up and coming fashion designer in Manhattan, usually anticipating what her superiors will be looking for design-wise for whichever season she’s crafting for.
Les Jacobs: 13. A nuisance.
Katherine Plumber: 22. A young reporter who has started to pick up on a pattern, at least in NYC. While she hasn’t started reporting it from an investigative angle, she’s been breaking most of the stories covering heists, break-ins, and stolen items. It’s rare when she’s able to know what exactly was stolen, and she wants to find out why.
Joseph Pulitzer: 60. The publisher in New York right now. Multiple popular news outlets have to go through him and his company to get their paper distributed. Also has a major hand in broadcasting as a news producer. He can control much of the information that the public receives, and knows nearly everything about everyone he controls. One thing he hasn’t figured out yet is whoever has been trying—and failing—to steal from his collection.
Jonah Wiesel: 50. Head of Pulitzer’s security, and has been dealing with the brunt of the attempted heists.
Oscar and Morris Delancey: 25. The twins. A prime example of Inclined being used as hired weapons. Both normally work under Pulitzer and with their uncle, but take on outside hired gigs for a pretty penny. Good with enhancement spells.
Eric Snyder: 56. Either Inclined, or quite talented at squeezing the truth from all those who cross his path. Frequently hired by any elitist asshole desperate to hide or hoard something away from those it belongs to. Often a mercenary security head, always with brutal tactics.
but there's only one player in it all who you'll be following specifically: jack kelly, known as the outlaw to the elites and cowboy amongst his friends.....
our protagonist (1 hour.)
