I need to know, who's Wicked Knight. Their name sounds so cool and I want to see who the name is attached to ^^
Wicked Knight's one of my OCs! He's kind of new to this whole Knight thing, and is trying way too hard to be cool and edgy, hence the name. He's not nearly as cool as his name or appearence imply, though.
I've actually been procrastinating making a proper digital drawing of him, so all I have for you is a kind of crappy sketch to show his colors.
Tumblr media
And here he is completely stripped of his coolness.
Tumblr media
Those are unfortunately all the digital Wick drawings I have. But here's a few extra, traditional ones!!

Bonus baby.

thinking about this excellent post again from @messiahzzz with great tags added by @beautifulcrownobserves and i remembered that, in my last playthrough, when we talked to the emperor right before confronting the brain for the final time and he was like "we need another plan", a crown-neutral gale reminded everyone that he can just use the orb and end it.
and the emperor's like (i just looked it up to get it right): "Your hubris drives you even now. You failed before, I cannot trust that you will not fail again."
he's straight up like "nah you didn't kill yourself last time so i don't trust you, pussy" which is fucking rude first of all lmao. but it also sets up "hubris" (which again, in this very instance, is really only a problem because mystra's mad about it) as juxtaposed to suicide. i feel like this response is probably dependent on other factors (i feel like the emperor was all for it for origin gale, and may have suggested it?? but i can't remember) and it's obviously not true, gale can go the fully neutral route, leave the crown, and still survive and be okay.
but it's still weird how the game pits these motivations against each other. and in the scene the emperor's talking about, gale doesn't "fail" to kill himself because of the crown; he sees the crown and then he's like "all right, time for me to do this" and then ultimately decides not to because it will kill his companions. that's significant to me! he's not like "wait i can't do this, i need to see what that crown's about" and he's not even like "wait i can't kill myself that would be crazy", it's really about the people around him.
when he starts on the road to the crown, you can talk him out of it purely by helping him with his self-worth. the crown or obtaining godhood isn't what keeps him from being willing to detonate the orb, either, because he'll still do that if it's needed. gale lives, as himself, once he's convinced that he's worth that. his good ending isn't really about overcoming hubris in the sense that he learns his place, which is the lesson the gods want you to learn about it. instead, he learns that his existence as a mortal is pretty great, and he can still do amazing things, and he doesn't have to die or ascend to make the world a better place.

𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗫𝗜𝗩 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲. Hailing from Sharlayan, the sorcerer Gale stands mired in talk. As a Black Mage and archon of considerable repute, however, his fame as a caster is an indisputable fact. He's a clever little thing, sharp enough to bother nearly half of all his peers. He's a textbook prodigy, impossible in his ego and unfailing in his pride, and for what most suspects is for all these reasons, Mystra, his goddess, had made herself known. She would love her chosen. She would hold them carefully in her puppeteering palms. Through Gale, she had sank her claws, enticed by his brilliance and his skill at magick, and like a dutiful lamb, he happily followed. In time, he grew to desire more from her, seeking a sort of godhood himself to stand by her side. However, as he looked for a way, fumbling in a study of powerful magic, Mystra, offended, casted him aside — and alone, Gale, corrupted, bears the wounds. Now, he's been thoroughly admonished, all his peers learning quickly of his taboo work. He remains knife-like in his mind, but utterly corrupted to the roots of his marrow, and cursed, his body now harbors an unstoppable hunger: a need to consume all the aether it can.
Should ever you need him — and please do not — you might find him isolating in his warded tower.

Correct me if I'm wrong but. Before the player unlocks the Wishing Woods part of the map, is it EVER mentioned that the sprites eat human wishes? The closest I think we get is in the Abandoned District, when Giroda mentions that wishes of desperation are toxic to the Faewish, but iirc he never specifies that it's when eaten, not handled.
What I'm trying to get at is: do the humans realize their wishes (but like, only the "tasty" ones) are getting eaten? Can you IMAGINE making wishes for years - trusting these otherworldly creatures to ferry your innermost desires to your shared god - only to learn that the sprites are serving that shit with a side of spring greens....

In response to the nepo baby lizbert thing: I could see that and maybe filbo and eggabell helped show her the world beyond her rich parents...or something like that
That's a cute idea! Though with that idea I had, if that were the case I don't think Lizbert was sheltered, as like her parents were also outdoorsy and explorers also. So it's not that she doesn't have that sort of experience or skill, more like she just had a LOT of resources and opportunities right of the bat to get her career started, which were given to her by her family
Canonically the opposite is kinda true, Eggabell came out of her shell and learned new experiences from Lizbert! Since she was just a family doctor in the middle of nowhere

I think the example of the aqueduct in the Red Canyon alongside with how among Seiros's miracles was creating a canal through Enbarr that was vital to it's growth, couple that with how humanity flourished due to Sothis sharing technology with them, I think the game might be hinting that technology regressed under the rule of Nemesis and the Agarthans, the latter keeping their own tech away from those they deemed as base animals.
TBH I'm always a bit miffed by the "technology" talks, because while Agartha sure kept Sothis' more advanced tech and current Fodlan was supposed to be "age of discovery" developed, we still have magic, like, people can warp around...
Tech in general regressed post Sothis vs Agarthans war, but we don't know how advanced/far Enbarr was before the WoH - of course they didn't have elevators, but indeed, I suppose that, in general, after this war, Fodlan had to rebuild itself without Sothis giving tech bonuses anymore to accelerate the growth and development of humans - and here would come the sci-fi principle of "giving tech when people are mature enough" or something, so maybe the Nabateans wanted to let humans develop themselves first, and then would have helped later on?
I still find it fascinating that when Rhea was apparently "roaming around Fodlan clinging to her desire of revenge", instead of directing the Enbarrites to build thousands of mecha-golems, she... made a canal for them.

gris grimly style my beloved... fun fact! my favorite childhood story was "The Masque of the Red Death" from the tales of mystery n madness book :D
this campaign runs half like slay the spire and its goofy, blue boi there got a wilder magic card (rolls a d8 to see which table to actually wild on) but tragically had to get rid of it after it nearly fused 2 guards together n then caused a gnome corpse rain.
as you can see, the purple lady (no she isn't a warforged, shes a bug thing) diiiidnt quite like that.
minor TW! no eyes/mild gore below
