i keep thinking about this image and the warmth it evokes in me. cinematically-framed unease. this must be how medieval peasantry felt seeing royal suitors get impaled at a joust.

Tripped and fell into his bed...
Pt 1.Bad Idea right?, Pt 2 - Tripped and fell into his bed

Tumblr media
Y/n and his friends are at the bar again.
The air was thick with the smell of stale beer and sweat as Y/n and his friends crowded around the jukebox, arguing over what song to play next. It was just another night at their favorite dive bar, and they were determined to make it memorable. Y/n was definitely more than tipsy, and you could tell by his flushed face, slurred speech, and the way he kept losing his balance that he was having a good time.
Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a familiar number flashing on his phone screen. It was Luke, his ex. They hadn't spoken since the messy breakup a few months ago, and Y/n had been doing his best to avoid him. But tonight, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of curiosity. He looks around at all of his friends and orders another drink from the bar tender, a girl to his left twirling her hair around her finger, flirting and fluttering her eyelashes at him.
He unlocks his phone and sees the text from Luke: "Hey, you. It's been a while. I've been thinking about you. Can I call you later?" His heart skips a beat and his palms start to sweat. Part of him wants to ignore it, pretend like it never came in, but another part of him can't help but feel a tugging at his chest. He types back a short reply, "i'll think about it"
The rest of the night passes in a blur of laughter, music, and more drinks. When the clock strikes two, and the bar begins to empty out, Y/n finds himself outside with his friends planning to go to a strip club, his brain was already buzzing though, like static was playing in his brain, and he just couldn't focus.
So he does what another friend does and follows them to the club, stumbling after them as they laugh and talk loudly down the street. He tugs his flannel off and ties it around his waist, trying to cool himself off.
As they enter the club, the flashing lights and loud music assault their senses, and Y/n feels a wave of nausea wash over him. He leans against the wall, trying to steady himself as he watches his friends make their way through the crowd towards the stage. The dancers gyrate and spin, their bodies on display for the leering men around them, and Y/n can't help but feel a pang of sadness for them.
He tries to push these thoughts aside, reminding himself that he's here to have a good time, but the more he drinks, the harder it becomes. The air grows thick with the smell of sweat and desperation, and he can't shake the feeling that something isn't quite right. As he wanders aimlessly through the club, his gaze drifts towards the exit, before he could make his way over a friend pulls him over by the arm to the rest of his friends that were gathered around a woman dancing on a pole.
"Dude, come check this out! This chick is amazing!" Y/n's friend practically shouts into his ear, jerking his arm roughly. Reluctantly, he pulls away and follows their gaze to where they're all staring. A tall, curvy woman with long, dark hair is spinning on the pole, her body moving in fluid motions that seem to defy gravity. She catches Y/n's eye and smiles seductively, beckoning him closer. His friends notice and push him closer to her, laughing and egging him on.
"Come on, Y/n! Have a good time!" His friend shouts over the music, slapping him on the back. With a sigh, Y/n moves closer to the stage, feeling the weight of his inhibitions pressing down on him. As he watches the dancer, something about her movement is different from the others. There's a grace and fluidity that's almost hypnotic. She catches his eye again, her lips parting in a smile.
He gets another notification on his phone and glances down to see another message from Luke. It was just his new address, a simple, "Thought you might want this." Y/n's heart skips a beat again, but this time it's different. There's something… hopeful about it. He doesn't respond this time instead he tells his friends he's going to the bathroom but he slips out the clubs door instead.
Tumblr media
Outside, the cool night air feels good on his skin, and he takes a deep breath, trying to clear his head. He walks to his car, unlocks it, and sinks into the driver's seat. He glances at his phone again, still undecided about what to do about Luke's messages. As he sits there, staring at the club in the distance, he can't help but feel a little guilty about leaving his friends there, he brushes it off though and starts his car up.
He text his friends that he's going home because he doesn't feel good and going to get some sleep, and then he turns his phone off. He takes a deep breath and starts the car, then he decides to drive to the address Luke had sent him. It's an apartment complex not far from the club, fairly fancy. He parks his car and walks up the steps hesitating for a second.
He's nervous but his blood has liquid courage in it so he knocks anyway. when the door opens and reveals a shirtless Luke he can't even remember why he broke up with him in the first place. He looks even better without a shirt on, his muscles gleaming in the dim light of the hallway.
"Got your text…" Y/n mumbles as his eyes trace down Luke's front following his happy trail to where it disappears into his jeans. His face flushes and Luke smirks. "You gonna come in?" he offers, stepping aside to let him in.
"I…don't know why I'm here…" Y/n replies, feeling the alcohol in his system making it hard to think straight. He shake his head trying to clear his head, "I just… I wanted to see where you were living… and… and I wanted to talk to you."
"Talk?" Luke's smirk turns into a smile, "You never want to just talk, Y/n. You always have a hidden motive."
"Fine." Y/n snaps, "I just wanted to tell you that we shouldn't do this anymore. That's all. That's all I needed to say." He turns to leave but Luke stops him with a hand on his arm.
"But you're here, aren't you?" Luke's voice is softer now, "That means something."
Y/n looks at the hand on his arm and swallows hard. He can feel the warmth of Luke's skin, and his heart starts to race. "Yeah, I know." He says finally, "It's just… I don't know if I can do this again."
They sit down on the couch, the room spinning slightly around Y/n. Luke's apartment is messy, but it's a comfortable mess. Like he's lived here for a while and just hasn't had the energy to clean. There's a pile of laundry in the corner and empty takeout containers on the coffee table.
"I've missed you." Luke says finally, his thumb tracing circles on Y/n's hand. "A lot."
Y/n can't bring himself to look at him. "You hurt me, Luke." He whispers, "A lot."
"I know. And I'm sorry." Luke's voice is earnest, "But I've changed. I've had time to think and I know what I want now."
"What do you want?" Y/n asks, his voice hoarse.
"I want you." Luke says simply, "I want us to work. I want to be the person you need."
Y/n sighs, "But what if you're not?"
"Then I'll try harder." Luke leans in, his breath warm against Y/n's cheek, "I'll keep trying until I get it right."
Why didn't you try then?
The room is spinning faster now, and Y/n can feel the pull of Luke's proximity. The scent of him, the heat of his body, it's all so familiar and yet so alien. "I don't know if I can trust you again." He admits.
"You don't have to trust me now." Luke says, "You just have to give me a chance to earn it back."
Y/n looks into Luke's eyes, searching for the truth. They're filled with a mix of hope and sadness, and he can see that Luke is being sincere. He doesn't know if it's the alcohol or the nostalgia, but he feels something give way inside of him. He leans in, and before he knows it, their lips are pressed together in a kiss that's hungry and desperate.
It's like all the anger and pain from their breakup is being washed away in the heat of the moment. They kiss for what feels like an eternity, until Y/n's head is swimming and he has to pull back for air.
"Okay." He says, "I'll give you a chance. But if you mess this up again…" Y/n trails off, not quite sure what the consequences would be but knowing that he couldn't go through another heartbreak.
"You won't have to worry about that." Luke whispers, leaning in to kiss him again. This time it's slower, more deliberate. Y/n's heart is racing, and he can feel his resolve slipping away.
They move to the bedroom, the floor littered with clothes and the bed unmade. But Y/n doesn't care. He's been craving this contact for months, and the feel of Luke's skin against his is like coming home. They undress each other clumsily, fumbling with buttons and zippers, eager to feel more of each other.
Their bodies intertwine on the bed, and Y/n can't help but let out a soft moan as Luke's hand trails down his chest. He's missed this so much. The way Luke's hands know exactly where to touch him, how to make him feel alive. He wraps his arms around Luke's neck, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss.
Their kiss grew more urgent as their hands began to explore each other's bodies. Y/n felt the warmth of Luke's skin beneath his fingertips, his muscles tensing and relaxing in response to his touch. Luke's hands roamed over Y/n's back, tracing the line of his spine down to the small of his waist, where he gently pulled him closer.
They broke apart for a moment, panting, their eyes searching for a silent confirmation that this was what they both wanted. Finding it, Y/n leaned in again, this time more confidently, and deepened the kiss. Their tongues danced together as they slowly began to undress each other, their movements deliberate and purposeful.
The coolness of the room contrasted with the heat between them as they removed their shirts, revealing the toned chests that had once been so intimately acquainted. Luke's hands traveled up Y/n's arms, pushing the fabric over his shoulders and down his back. Y/n returned the favor, feeling the warmth of Luke's skin and the smoothness of his chest.
They continued to kiss as they unbuckled each other's belts and unzipped their pants. Their breath grew heavier, their bodies pressing closer together as the layers of clothing fell away. The sound of their clothes dropping to the floor was a soft echo in the otherwise silent room.
Finally, they were both naked, their bodies entwined as they lay down on the bed. The softness of the sheets brushed against their skin as they rolled over each other, their hands never stopping their exploration. Luke's mouth traveled down Y/n's neck, leaving a trail of hot kisses that made him shiver with pleasure.
Y/n's hands found their way to Luke's firm thighs, his fingers digging into the muscle as Luke's lips moved to his chest. The sensation was stimulating, and Y/n could feel his body responding, his arousal growing with every touch.
Without a word, Luke shifted his position, moving down the bed. His eyes never left Y/n's as he took him in his mouth, the warmth and wetness of his mouth sending shockwaves of pleasure through Y/n's body. He moaned, his head falling back into the pillow, as Luke's skilled tongue worked its magic.
Y/n's hips began to buck, his body moving in a rhythm that was impossible to resist. Luke's grip on his thighs tightened, holding him in place as he took him deeper. The pleasure was intense, and Y/n could feel his climax building, the tension coiling in his lower belly.
As Y/n's moans grew louder, Luke pulled away, his eyes smoldering with desire. "Do you want me inside you?" he whispered, his voice thick with want.
Y/n nodded, unable to form words, his breath coming in gasps. Luke reached for the bedside drawer, his hand shaking slightly as he retrieved a bottle of lube. He coated his fingers, then slid them down between Y/n's legs, teasing his entrance before pushing in gently.
The sensation was exquisite, and Y/n's body responded eagerly, his muscles relaxing to accept Luke's touch. Luke stroked him slowly, watching Y/n's face intently, reading every expression of pleasure. When he was ready, Luke positioned himself, the head of his erection nudging against Y/n's entrance.
With a deep breath, Y/n nodded again, and Luke pushed inside, filling him completely. They both groaned at the sensation, the feeling of being connected after so long apart. Luke began to move, setting a steady rhythm that had Y/n's hips rising to meet him.
Their bodies moved in unison, the only sounds in the room their gasps and moans. The rain outside had picked up, now a soothing white noise that complemented the rhythmic slap of skin on skin.
Y/n wrapped his legs around Luke's waist, pulling him closer, deeper. He could feel the familiar tingle in his spine, the signal that he was close. "I'm going to come," he managed to say, his voice strained with passion.
"Me too," Luke grunted, his pace increasing.
Their climaxes hit them simultaneously, their bodies tightening and releasing in a symphony of pleasure. They held onto each other tightly, their hearts racing, as they rode the waves of ecstasy together.
As they lay there, panting and tangled in the sheets, the rain outside had turned into white noise, a comforting reminder of the outside world that was temporarily forgotten.
Just tripped and fell into his bed...

Dating ‘Prince Charming’ Part 2/3
[ Lila is finally starting to learn what its really like to be Adrien Agreste's girlfriend and finding out its not everything she hoped it would be. But while the liar struggles Marinette works toward her goals and meets someone new. ]
[ Prefer AO3? Link HERE! | Part 1 HERE! | Part 3 Coming Soon | Masterlist Link HERE! ]
Chloe made her grand return 3 weeks after Lila and Adrien’s big dating announcement. The bossy blonde had been away in New York with her mother and it was only in retrospect that Marinette briefly wondered if the entire timing of her and Adriens break up and Lila and Adriens announcement had been planned. After all Chloe had not taken well to Marinette dating Adrien and the class president was positive she would not take the news that Lila had swooped in right after their big breakup any better.
As it turns out Marinette had been right at least about Chloe not taking the news well. She’d walked into class early (for her) only to be met with chaos as Chloe and Lila stood opposed and yelling filled the classroom. Despite the fact that Marinette KNEW Chloe would hate whoever dated Adrien the sight was still enough to leave her mildly stunned after all Lila and Chloe had been tag team harassing Marinette since the second she and Adrien had started dating so to see the once allies now locked in a vicious match each using their unique brand of awful against each other… Well it was something.
Luckily Marinette knew she would not have to lift a finger to fix things. Because this? This was Adrien’s problem. And Marinette had no intention of helping or playing mediator. After all Adrien had let Lila and Chloe stomp all over their relationship when they’d still been dating, heck he’d even asked Marinette to simply deal with it so now he could deal with it and Marinette severely doubted that Lila would be even half as accepting or accommodating as she had been.
So while the two wannabe queens duked it out Lila with fake tears and Chloe with vicious mockery Marinette simply glided past the drama and up to her seat where she pulled out her sketchbook and started adding the finishing touches to a sketch of a brand new rock and roll suit for Uncle Jagged. Now that she wasn’t chasing after Adrien 24/7 and making him gifts and worrying about him or Lila or Chloe not to mention trying to keep up with her school work and grades all while also being Ladybug well Marinette had time on her hands and she’d been using it to study, track down Hawkmoth with Alya’s help, spend time with friends but most of all she’d been using that time on her career.
As she wrote in what materials she would need to get a certain sheen effect on the outfit, Marinette noticed the green eyes looking up at her desperately from the front of the class. Marinette glanced up noting how Adrien seemed to be trying to plead with her to help as he tried to reign in his dramatic new girlfriend and attack dog childhood friend; she only cocked her head to the side, smiled and offered him a little wave before continuing with her work. Yeah no way was she willingly throwing herself into THAT.
Sure enough before class could start Adrien managed to drag Lila out of the room and into the hallway no doubt to give her the same speech he had given Marinette when THEY were dating Lila bursting back into the classroom a few minutes later looking like she’d just swallowed a whole lemon only confirmed Marinette’s suspicions.
What Marinette had not expected was Lila openly complaining about ADRIEN at lunch, hours after the incidents of that morning. Marinette ate her steamed bun as she watched with mild surprise as the Italian wailed and threw a veritable tantrum as she told the girls all about how Adrien had put Chloe first and had asked Lila to simply deal with it. It was so painfully ironic that Marinette struggled not to roll her eyes. Honestly after the breakup Marinette had for a brief time contemplated revenge because truthfully. She was hurt and mad but Tikki had talked her out of it claiming that karma would have its way Marinette hadn’t believed the little god at the time too lost in her grief and her ice cream but now? Well now Marinette was starting to understand what Tikki meant. Because Lila wanted to be Adrien Agreste’s girlfriend no matter what it took, and she was only now starting to see what that really meant.
Sure enough in the weeks that followed Lila and Chloe kept each other busy allowing Marinette to for the first time in years relax at school. Of course Lila tried to redirect Chloe’s hatred back at Marinette by telling the blonde about how it had been Marinette who initiated the break up. But Marinette had easily overcome Chloe’s rage with honesty after all she had only broken up with Adrien because she knew they were incompatible and that Adrien would be happier with someone else, something Chloe agreed with though the way in which the blonde agreed made Marinette’s eye twitch just a little.
And then of course there was Adrien who was still trying to get Marinette to step in and help him handle his childhood friend and girlfriend but Marinette had been able to dodge him for weeks until they were having a class meetup at the park. Chloe was not attending due to wanting to avoid the ‘peasants’ as she so called them and Lila claimed she would be late due to an important meeting with some famous person. Honestly Marinette had not even bothered to pay attention. Adrien had noted the lack of ‘problem people’ and had decided to make a bold move calling Marinette out as they all hung out together to ‘talk to her in private’ yeah like THAT was going to happen.
Marinette knew Adrien’s modus operandi very well. He’d call you out, ask to talk to you privately and then lay on the guilt trip. No way was she doing that anymore she’d endured enough of them while they were dating to last a lifetime.
“Actually I would prefer not to talk to you alone, Adrien. You're publicly dating someone and we never know when your fans or the paparazzi might be around. Besides anything you can say to me in private you can say in front of OUR friends.”
Adrien looked like a kicked puppy at her words. But as their classmates quickly took her side and insisted he tell Marinette whatever he needed with them around the blonde was backed into a corner.
“Well the thing is… I was wondering if you could help? With the whole Lila, Chloe situation?”
Marinette wasn’t even given a chance to respond. The second the words left Adrien’s mouth the entire class bristled, many giving Adrien looks of confusion and shock as if he’d just spoken pure nonsense and honestly in a way he had. Nathaniel however was the one who said it best.
“Wait I’m sorry are you seriously asking Marinette to mediate between her long time bully and the girl you started dating not even an hour after your break up with her? Are you serious?!”
 “W-Well I just thought-”
“Thought what Agreste? That Marinette should put herself in the worlds worst situation completely ignoring her own feelings just to make your life easier?”
Oof Kim going straight for the throat.
 “B-But shes the class president!”
“So?! That doesn’t make her a genie! She can't just clap her hands and fix everything nor should she have to!”
Marinette had never heard Rose sound so upset in her life, which is when the young fashion designer knew it was her turn to say her piece and get things back under control.
“Adrien.” She ignored the hopeful look he shot her. “Not only do I not want to get involved but I don’t think it would help. Chloe doesn’t like me and Lila’s ‘disease’-” she said the word with barely concealed sarcasm “acts up when I’m around. So I’m sorry but no I will not help you with this.”
“But I’m sure if you just-”
The look the class shot him was enough to end the conversation and Marinette let out a relieved sigh as her heart filled with warmth she really loved her friends.
A month after the conversation in the park Lila Rossi got her second harsh wake up call to the ‘true joys’ of being Adrien Agreste’s girlfriend and it was a two for one deal.
Lila had seemingly been under the assumption that once she was dating Adrien her own popularity would rise to meet his but she was starting to learn that wasn’t the case. Adrien still got plenty more photo-shoots then she did and most were still solo and since they were fast approaching the spring fashion season Adrien was plenty busy with more and more shoots while Lila was left waiting for her turn in the spotlight.
Perhaps it was the frustration at not immediately sky rocketing her way up in fame or maybe it was the snide comments from Adrien Fangirls talking about the lack of couples shoots but Lila seemingly came up with the brilliant plan to force the spotlight onto herself by demanding, manipulating and forcing Adrien to take her on big flashy fancy dates where the paparazzi always conveniently found them Marinette had no doubt Lila was the one tipping them off but she kept her mouth shut. It wasn’t her problem.
However while Lila was enjoying her tabloid paparazzi fueled fame the class and more surprisingly Gabriel Agreste himself were beginning to notice the way it was wearing Adrien down. Between his photo-shoots and busy schedule all of Adrien’s precious free time was being filled up by Lila and her many needy antics and it was starting to show in the way Adrien carried himself and how exhausted he seemed.
Nino was the one who led the charge just as he had when Lila manipulated the class into thinking her ‘clingy’ but where Marinette had gotten some hurtful but well meaning lectures about her Adrien obsession which in retrospect DID help her realize her love was unhealthy. Lila was not given such a kind well meaning speech instead Nino got mad, something he rarely let himself become.
As it turns out Lila had worn Adrien down to the point where the blonde was too exhausted to function and he’d nearly passed out while standing and talking to Nino and that mixed with the fact that it had previously been Lila who painted the faux picture of Marinette as the clingy evil girlfriend isolating the boy from his friends was enough for Nino to harshly call her out. The liar did do her best to wriggle out of the situation trying to claim she only wanted ‘some’ private time with her oh so busy boyfriend but Nino was not having it and the class was too happy to back him up.
The more Lila tried to defend and excuse her actions the angrier Nino got and much to the liars annoyance the young musician had proof and plenty of it. Between his text correspondence with Adrien that revealed the model was constantly being forced to cancel relaxing friend days to take Lila out on flashy dates that always ended with paparazzi and fans swarming the location and forcing Adrien into high stress situations, and an extremely detailed schedule planner that Nino had made to keep track of his best buds work life balance (potential evidence to blackmail Gabriel Agreste if he ever threatened to pull Adrien out of school again apparently). The facts didn’t lie and they were showing that Lila was the real ‘clingy’ girlfriend.
Things eventually got so heated between Nino and Lila arguing that an akuma appeared to try and take advantage of the situation. Luckily for everyone Ladybug had been patrolling and stopped the naughty little butterfly from making things worse. In the end Lila was forced to grit her teeth and apologize to her darling boyfriend. Though perhaps what upset her more was the way the class proceeded to apologize to Marinette after the fact for ever accusing her of being clingy and taking up too much of Adrien’s free time.
However Lila still thought she had one last ace up her sleeve, and so after the class luncheon ended the liar proceeded to contact Gabriel hoping to get her new boyfriends dad to reign him in and do her bidding. Unluckily for Lila however Gabriel had been paying attention to the situation and that fact that it had ALMOST led to an akuma made him look even closer into things.
And he was not happy with what he found. The paparazzi pictures and articles that resulted from Lila and Adrien’s flashy dates had started positively enough with headlines and puff pieces about how cute the couple looked together, how it was nice to see the young Agreste in more casual settings with his girlfriend. But as the dates became more and more frequent and Lila’s constant demands and needs grew the articles slowly began to change soon they were discussing the concerning amount of money Adrien must be spending on his girlfriend, how exhausted and stressed the young Agreste heir looked under his strained smiles and was he eating and sleeping enough?
The akuma he’d sent had only further confirmed Gabriel’s negative feelings toward Lila though it did make him re-evaluate the young Lahiffe boy. Gabriel had originally thought the wannabe musician might just be interested in Adrien for money but seeing the lengths he went to defend his friend had the designer impressed and even a little grateful. So when Lila phoned to try and throw the boy under the bus and get Gabriel to side with her, well she had another thing coming.
Marinette heard later from Alya and the rest of the girls that Lila was ‘devastated’ how she’d wailed sobbed and thrown the tantrum of the century as she ranted and raved about Gabriel putting a 1 date a month maximum limit on Adrien and Lila. The two lovebirds could still hang out of course but it would be in the company of the rest of the class or other friends, or if they really wanted some privacy it would be strictly at the Agreste mansion for studying. Lila had told the girls that it was unfair and unjust that Gabriel was trying to get in the way of their love! Alya had relayed to Marinette that while the girls agreed that 1 date a month was a bit rough they all thought Lila’s tantrum was a bit childish especially when they all remembered how Marinette had rarely if ever got to enjoy 1 private date a month with Adrien and never in public.
Of course just because Lila had been told ‘no’ didn’t mean the liar was going to listen. And so she began trying to find ways to manipulate Adrien into ‘accidental’ dates, bugging the blonde to take her out instead of settling for lunch at school or trying to conveniently separate the two of them from the rest of the group during weekend and after school hang outs. But each time Lila tried Nino thwarted her eventually the Italian had gotten so angry at his meddling that she phoned Gabriel again this time to try and get the musician removed or banned or ANYTHING so that he’d back off, so when she instead learned that Nino had been asked by Gabriel to keep an eye out on for his son and that Adrien knew about it well the liar was furious.
Marinette learned later this time from Rose and Juleka that the Italian had tried to go on another tantrum tirade only to be stopped by Alya who would not tolerate anyone badmouthing her lovely boyfriend. Needless to say, Marinette was quick to notice the following Monday how Lila pouted and avoided the Ladyblogger like the plague. Luckily Marinette made sure Alya didn’t dwell on it too much by inviting the girl over to help her brainstorm some new ideas.
Because while Lila was focusing on leeching the fame and fortune off her boyfriend and being met with endless failures and a very hostile guard dog called Chloe. Marinette had been THRIVING. The suit she’d designed for Jagged had gone viral online and soon Jagged was passing on her contact information to a small selection of celebrities Marinette felt comfortable designing for. The fact that her identity was a secret and she had a very exclusive client list had only caused MDC to soar even higher in popularity with the public making it clear that they too wanted access to MDC fashion. And so Marinette had done her research and with the help of Uncle Jagged and Aunt Penny she’d set up an online store where she would sell ready made clothes.
Of course just because Marinette was seeing success didn’t mean she had forgotten about her friends. In fact the entire class minus Lila, Adrien and Chloe knew very well the true identity of the elusive MDC and that was because while Marinette was taking big steps toward her dreams she was helping her friends do just the same.
After all it didn’t take long for the internet to learn that the mysterious MDC designed Kitty Sections outfits causing the band to have a surge of free publicity that led to many people discovering their music and falling in love with the band.
Then there was Nathanial, Marc and Alya who Marinette or should she say MDC collaborated with while designing her ‘hero hoodie’ fashion collection all of them saw a boost in views with Marc and Nathanial’s comic picking up new readers though it was there brand new all original idea that had really flown off the shelves earning them an online cult following. Alya meanwhile got her blog spotted by Lois Lane herself who was impressed with the young future journalist and contacted Alya for a summer internship the scream Alya had made almost gave Marinette a heart attack.
And it didn’t end there. When Nino made a short film with Mylene and Kim of all people as his lead actors and uploaded it for free to YouTube MDC who was well known for supporting smaller creatives and signal boosting them on her social media was more than happy to make a tweet linking to the short film. Nino’s short film had been impactful and powerful despite being a comedy satire on Hawkmoth and it had quickly blown up earning Nino a summer internship at a film studio and Mylene and Kim several job offers. Kim had never been particularly interested in acting but after seeing the outpouring of love and support not to mention with the encouragement he got from his lovely girlfriend Ondine he decided to accept a few offers surprising everyone as he developed a new passion that he and Mylene bonded over.
Max, and Alix were also boosted in a similar way to Nino, Kim and Mylene when MDC retweeted some of their creative endeavors. Alix a video where she had used spray paint to recreate a few classical paintings though that had only acted as a signal boost that allowed the skater to be noticed for her real passion Extreme Sports! When a very exclusive extreme sports training summer camp contacted Alix about her attending she’d squealed almost as loud as Alya had. Max meanwhile had his demo for his work in progress video games retweeted by MDC and saw a huge surge in interest and a few interested investors and publishers even arrived with offers, though before he could agree to anything his popularity ballooned even further when a video of him showing off Markov surfaced. He had later joked to Marinette that while he appreciated the support he wasn’t sure how he felt about suddenly gaining a ‘nerd cult’ as Kim called it.
Of course all of Marinette’s friends knew she was largely responsible for their sudden surge of fame and good fortune and many of them tried to dismiss their own talents and give all the credit to Marinette. But the young designer simply threw it back at them. Yes she had signal boosted them and given them a helping hand but at the end of the day the only reason they had gotten so popular and stayed so popular after the brief burst from her influence passed and the internet moved on to the next big thing was because they were talented and amazing without Marinette.
The only problem with the classes' new found fame. Was that sooner or later Lila was bound to take notice. And take notice she did when Mylene appeared as an extra in one of Lila’s favorite daytime soaps. The liar had been so focused on Adrien and trying to leech her fame off him while beating Chloe back with a stick that she had somehow missed all the major developments. And she was livid.
She was supposed to be the most popular girl in school! She was meant to be the star, the one people admired and aspired to be like! The one they envied but loved too much to truly hate! And when she’d finally gotten Marinette and Adrien to break up she thought for sure that all her dreams would come true. But somehow while she’d been busy trying to reign in the pesky little blonde her classmates had all gone and gotten famous without her. Most of them wouldn’t even BE in Paris in the fast approaching summer since many of them either had internships, specialized camps, acting gigs, or in Kitty Sections case a whole music tour with Jagged Stone that for some reason Marinette was also a part of?!?
None of it made any sense and when Lila had gone looking for how exactly everything had happened she kept finding herself looking at MDC’s social media. The elusive and private designer was apparently a super sucker or something as every week they would highlight some small time random creator. Honestly it disgusted Lila who just handed out fame like that? Fame and popularity was meant to be exclusive! Earned! Something for only the most beautiful and talented of society. Not for chubby little idiots like Mylene or nerdy freaks like Max.
Of course Lila was nothing if not an opportunist. Sure in her opinion none of her talentless, average, classmates actually deserved their new found fame and popularity but the good thing was they were also a bunch of gullible idiots. And if she played her cards right they would surely carry her to the top. She already had the perfect lie, she would simply claim to be best friends with MDC and tell the class that she had been the one to recommend that the designer boost her classmates.
 It was perfect. Genius really.
So then why did it fail immediately?
Lila stood in front of the class, her face frozen in shock as she was stared down by 10 pairs of angry glares. She had expected overwhelming thank you’s and the class bowing at her feet but the second the lie slipped out of her mouth the class instead turned on the liar like a close knit pack of wolves smelling a sheep. Honestly Lila could not understand where she’d gone wrong, and even if she had said something that was an obvious lie wouldn’t the class just normally brush it off as her disease? So why is it that they were acting this way?
It was Alya who broke the silence first.
“You want to run that by us again? Lila.”
The Italian girl swallowed the lump in her throat and ignored the obvious warning sign that was Alya’s sharp tone. Forcing a charming smile Lila brought out her sweetest voice determined that she could salvage whatever THIS was.
“I was just saying that I’m so happy for all of you! I didn’t want to say anything at the time BUT me and MDC are such good friends! So when he-”
“He?” Alix snorted and rolled her eyes. “Yeah that about confirms it.”
The entire class seemed to agree with Alix as they all shook their heads and shot Lila disappointed and annoyed looks before returning to their own conversations and or hobbies freezing her out. Ignoring her.
Oh that? That pissed Lila off like nothing else. Her cheeks grew hot as she stomped her foot angrily, regaining their attention.
“You guys think I’m telling lies again! You all promised that you wouldn’t judge me for my disease but you are!” For added effect she started to sniffle and sob expecting the class to do what they always did and feel guilty about their treatment of her and rush to comfort her.
Instead she was met with even harsher glares.
“Uhh yeah no duh we think you're lying because you ARE. We” Alix gestured to the people currently in class. “Have all met MDC and SHE not ‘he’ is a wonderful person who helped boost our careers because she thinks we're all super cool and talented not because you asked her too.”
Lila felt her face screw up like she’d just sucked a lemon but she quickly worked it to her advantage as she began to loudly sob.
“T-That’s not fair! You know I can't help my disease!”
“Uhh yeah no. I’m stopping you there.” Alya stood up looking down from her perch at Lila with her hands on her hips commanding the room, Lois had been training her well. “We can accept that MAYBE your lying disease makes you claim things when your nervous or scared like how you always accuse Marinette of stuff, and we can MAYBE believe that your disease makes you mix up names and words so you end up giving the wrong information out about charities and celebrities and yes MAYBE we can believe that you sometimes make false claims about yourself when your stressed out like that time with Clara Nightingale stealing your dance moves. Whatever! But Lila that right there? You were not having an ‘oops I lied’ moment you were actively trying to deceive us to make the false claim that YOU are the reason MDC noticed us when we know the truth. And when I gave you a chance to correct yourself you tried to double down. That was intentional. That was malicious.”
Lila felt her mouth fall open, her eyes blinking in shock. Too late she tried to recover. Tried to explain away the situation and make herself out to be innocent. But the class was done with her and they made it clear in how they iced her out. Eventually she had no choice but to suck it up and sit down at her seat. Not long later Marinette rushed into class followed by Chloe who was latched onto Adrien with Sabrina in tow.
Soon enough the school year came to an end and Lila watched bitterly through the all seeing eyes of the internet as her classmates left for their internships, job opportunities, highly specialized summer camps, and more. Meanwhile she was stuck at home. Oh sure she got to go on a few out of country photo-shoots with Adrien but her fame was still nothing compared to her boyfriends, and it was quickly becoming less than nothing as her classmates rose in influence and popularity. Come the new school year Lila would need to find some way to force the class back under her heel.
Marinette was having the best summer of her life! Jagged had taken Kitty Section on tour with him and insisted on Marinette coming with them as their designer. Marinette hadn’t been sure at first worried about the Hawkmoth situation and her own career. But in the end Tikki and her parents had convinced her. Her parents loved the idea of Marinette leaving Paris and going to see the world with her friends for a bit, and Tikki had reminded Marinette that she had the Horse Miraculous and could come home anytime, besides Hawkmoth had been getting lazier and lazier with both his akumas and the amount of them. So in the end Marinette agreed and it had been the BEST decision of her life.
They visited England before eventually traveling overseas to America. The sights and sounds and new foods were filling Marinette with inspiration and she’d never been so busy sketching. Then of course there was the great company. Uncle Jagged and Aunt Penny were wonderful and quickly ‘adopted’ all of Kitty Section + Marinette. They'd act like doting parents one second and then the next they’d be ordering way too much pizza for the teens to share.
Of course everyone missed their friends and family but video call existed and it was only for the summer anyway. Ivan was the one who was probably the worst off pouting over his beloved Mylene but the group was able to cheer him up encouraging him to write a song for his girlfriend, the piece he wrote became a new hit single the second they performed it on stage and Mylene had loved it.
The group stopped by Florida first where Jagged took them all to Disney World and then Universal Park, pictures of the rocker wearing mickey mouse ears and a hufflepuff scarf of all things while being followed by a gaggle of teenagers had soon gone viral, after that it was off to New York, and then Metropolis where they spent a bit of time so Alya could see them and hang out. Her internship with Lois Lane was going well but she’d still been relieved to see her friends and get some down time to just chill. After that they went to Gotham, which was Jagged’s home town. Now most parents might veto a place as dangerous as Gotham but seeing as how Paris was under siege by an emotional butterfly themed terrorist and they were from a class particularly used to dealing with deadly akumas on a regular basis well they were able to convince their parents to let it happen. And to Marinette’s surprise Gotham turned out to be her favorite place of the whole trip.
Sure the city was gloomy but the gothic architecture somehow inspired Marinette, and while the people were not outwardly all smiles and sunshine they were kind in their own way. But the thing Marinette ended up loving most about Gotham was its beautiful parks and famous greenhouses. Thanks to the influence of Poison Ivy and Bruce Wayne the city of Gotham had become the greenest city in all of America and it was a never ending source of inspiration for the young designer. Not to mention it was thanks to all the inspiring greenery that Marinette had met HIM.
She’d been walking through one of Gotham’s older parks admiring the beautiful blooming wisterias that had been shaped into a long hallway arch when she got bowled over by a massive terrifying but very friendly dog. Marinette had been terrified at first until she noticed the fast wagging tail and happy smile on the dog's face. Tikki had warned her that one side effect of holding the Ladybug miraculous would be extra friendly animals a rather ‘tame’ side effect compared to the super strength, increased speed, and occasional urge to hibernate when cold but still the designer had never expected to be attacked with friendly happy dog kisses, not like THIS anyway. As she squirmed and laughed she tried to gently push the dog off. That was when the dogs owner had come to her rescue. Yanking his dog off of her while admonishing it Marinette was finally able to sit up and begin wiping the dog drool off her cheek with a laugh.
“Don’t scold the cutie too much I’m okay I swear he didn’t hurt me.”
“Even if he didn’t hurt you he’s been trained better than that. I’m very sorry, please allow me to help you.”
The boy’s voice was cool, firmly polite and matter of fact leaving no room for argument. To an untrained ear he might even sound annoyed or angry but Marinette could tell that wasn’t the case. As Marinette accepted the hand the boy offered and let herself be pulled up she suddenly came face to face with the most beautiful pair of green eyes she’d ever seen.
Where Adrien’s eyes were bright like a blinding peridot green, these eyes were soft and warm like the green of a pine tree and Marinette could feel herself melt into them. It didn’t help that the rest of the boy's face was also incredibly handsome. The designer quickly shook herself out of her thoughts and glanced away not wanting to stare. Instead she directed her attention to her assailant, the dog was sitting now staring up at her with its tail still wagging wildly. Marinette smiled and reached her hand down letting the dog sniff her before she gave him some soft pets.
“Such a softy for a big guy. What's his name?”
“Titus. And I apologize again. He really is trained better than that. I don’t know what came over him.”
Marinette felt a little bad but she couldn’t exactly say that she was the chosen champion of a god and a side effect of that was very friendly animals so instead she shot the boy a smile.
“Don’t worry I just seem to have that effect on animals. Back home the pigeons and crows have started fighting for dominance of my roof and balcony because they both want my attention.”
The boy gave her a stunned look before he made a sound that Marinette believed might be a covered up laugh. She smiled even brighter and offered the boy her hand to shake.
“By the way my name is Marinette. And it's a pleasure to meet you.”
The boy looked at her hand for a moment before he eventually grabbed it and shook it awkwardly.
“Damian… It's nice to meet you too. Though I can tell by that introduction that you're not from here.”
 Marinette snorted at that.
“Really the introduction was what gave it away but not my accent?”
The boy seemed to blush a little at that before he coughed awkwardly. Marinette took pity on him and giggled.
“You are correct in your deduction mr.detective. I’m visiting from Paris, France with some friends and my uncle.”
If Marinette hadn’t been too embarrassed to look him in the eyes she may have noticed the spark of curiosity when she mentioned Paris. And had she known who Damian truly was at the time she would have known that his curiosity came from the fact that Batman and the other supers had recently learned about the situation in Paris thanks to Lois Lane taking on a new intern who ran the Ladyblog. Mayor Bourgeois had been doing a good job hiding the situation but he’d overlooked the civilian journalist.
“Hm. We don’t get many tourists. What brought you all the way out here. If I may ask.”
Naturally without much thought the pair began to walk through the park together as their conversation flowed. Marinette avoided using Jagged's name not wanting her new very handsome friend to take an interest in her solely for her connections. Instead she told him that Gotham was her uncles hometown and that this was the last stop on what had already been a pretty busy summer vacation. That turned into her telling him a bit about her family in general which got him talking about his family, he complained about his adopted siblings of which there seemed to be many but Marinette could tell he loved them.
Talking about family made him admit he’d come to the park to get away from them for a little while which got Marinette talking about the park and all the beautiful nature in Gotham which got the two of them talking about the best parks in Gotham and then Marinette brought up her sketches and suddenly they were talking about art and other hobbies. Before they had even realized it they were sitting at a bench together hidden away in the trees and wisterias chatting away. Marinette didn’t know why but something about Damian made her feel comfortable. Maybe it was the way he gave her his full undivided attention, maybe it was the way he made sure not to invade her space without consent or how he didn’t interrupt her when she spoke. Either way she felt safe, felt warm, almost like she was home. And judging by the way he seemed to relax the longer they spoke, his stiff body unwinding and his gaze softening, she thought maybe he felt just as comfortable with her as she was with him.
Honestly Marinette could have sat there chatting with Damian all day in fact it had already been several hours when the pair were finally interrupted. Both of their phones began to ring, Marinette’s with the tell-tale alarm of an akuma attack in Paris and Damian’s with an emergency as the Riddler had broken out of Arkham. The teenagers regretfully had to go both citing emergencies before they departed. It wasn’t until later that they realized they had forgotten to exchange phone numbers.
The akuma back in Paris had turned out to be Lila Rossi, it seems that Adrien’s fangirls had never truly warmed up to the liar and they had been trying to dig up dirt on the girl for months before finally finding there evidence. Alya may have privated the videos of Lila’s lies after finding out about the ‘lying disease’ but apparently someone had copied and saved them beforehand. And those videos had finally made their way out into the public. Luckily no one criticized Alya seeing as how she’d already had the common sense to remove the videos from her blog it helped that Alya also made a post explaining the situation in more detail which led to the general public agreeing that it had not been Alya’s fault when she had a teacher and a principle telling her to believe in a fake ‘lying disease’ clearly it was the adults at fault here not the young girl who had believed in them.
Needless to say the public ripped Lila to shreds for being a serial liar with more of her lies coming to light each day now that she had been exposed. And obviously the Italian had not taken it well and gotten akumatized.
Marinette knew that she should be happy that Lila had been exposed. Her classmates certainly were, but instead Marinette could not help but mope. Damian had been SO kind she really had wanted to get to know him better. The fact she’d completely missed out on getting his number gnawed at her. Little did she know that Damian was across the city thinking the same thing as he sat on a Gargoyle statue.
But fate likes to play funny games. A few days later Jagged got a call from Bruce Wayne, a few of his sons namely Tim, Jason and Dick had heard about Jagged being in town and tjat the rocker had brought MDC the famous designer with him. Apparently they were huge fans and had bugged, pleaded, whined, and eventually threatened a hunger strike until Bruce would ask Jagged to pretty please introduce them. So Jagged got the go ahead from Marinette and the gaggle of teenagers plus Jagged and Penny piled into a big van and drove over to the Wayne mansion.
Seeing it from the outside, Marinette felt only intimidation and dread. It was so huge and they were so rich. What if they were unimpressed when they found out MDC was just some teenage girl? Letting Jagged guide her and her friends push her forward Marinette nervously knocked on the door and let herself be led inside by the kind old man who introduced himself as Alfred.
Walking through the halls in wonder Marinette slowly felt her fingers twitch with the urge to design. But she suppressed it and focused not wanting to be rude. As the group turned a corner into a large sitting room Marinette’s blue eyes somehow found a pair of familiar green. She gasped, he blinked wide eyed.
 “Marinette?” - “Damian?”
They blinked again, shocked. Marinette eventually snorted and laughed. Damian found himself smiling as he approached the small girl. And everyone else? Well they were just confused. Except for Damian’s family they were confused and freaked out.
“Is the demon spawn, smiling Dicky bird? Or am I hallucinating?”
“No I see it too Jason. He looks genuinely happy.”
“So it's official.” Tim added “we're all hallucinating.”
After some introductions and explanations things settled down with Marinette happy to take the Wayne’s on as clients. And the Wayne’s in turn being suitably impressed and amazed by the young girls accomplishments though the part they found most amazing was how she interacted with not only them but Damian. She was genuine and kind, no fake smiles or hidden double meanings, nor did she let their money and fame impress or blind her in any way. Jason soon declared her a little sister and Jagged preened and puffed as he gloated about not only Marinette but Kitty Section as well.
The rest of the summer spent in Gotham was tons of fun with Jason teaching Juleka and Marinette how to shoot guns and ride motorcycles, Rose and Marinette learning some of Dick’s gymnastics moves, Ivan meanwhile got along well with the quiet Cass and level headed Duke. Eventually Stephanie and Bab’s returned home as well and they also took to the french teens with ease they organized girl nights where they taught the girls how to break and enter something Marinette had a natural affinity for go figure. The most surprising development however was Luka. The slightly older boy had seemingly set his sights on the awkward coffee addicted Tim and had spent the remainder of the summer wooing him.
But while Luka was wooing Tim there was one other couple slowly forming. Everyone had seen the spark between Damian and Marinette and soon enough everyone was shipping it. The pair were often ‘conveniently’ left alone or were sent on errands that somehow conveniently became accidental dates. Marinette had been guarding her heart after Adrien had shattered it but Damian made her want to take the risk and fall in love. He was charming, polite, kind, sarcastic, and as she’d learned after telling him about the entire Paris situation akuma’s and all he was protective but without going so far as to undermine Marinette’s strength. He trusted her to be fast and smart and strong enough to defend herself (especially after they did a bit of fight training for fun and she laid him flat on the ground) but he did worry and care about her.
But still there was something holding back both teens. Something that shattered near the end of the vacation. Marinette had been caught by a villain. Poison Ivy to be exact. The plant villainess had taken note of the new frequent visitor to her greenhouse but what had really gotten her attention was how the plant life reacted to her. And furthermore how the plant life SPOKE about her. Ivy’s curiosity eventually grew too large and so she snatched up the young designer and brought her home. Luckily Marinette wasn’t particularly scared of Ivy or Harley, sure she didn’t like being knocked out but she felt no real fear, in the end Ivy, Harley and Marinette ended up having an unprompted girls day complete with junk food, ranting, bad American tv and more. Ivy eventually figured that Marinette was some kind of Meta one who had a strong influence over plant and animal life and that was enough for her to adopt the small half Asian girl and inject her with her special blend the same one she’d given to Harley to keep her safe in a town full of crazies.
But while Marinette was perfectly fine hanging out with 2 of the 3 sirens Damian had not taken it so well. He had scoured the city trying to find the sirens newest abode all while he gnawed his lip until it bled. Maybe it was the stress that made him slip up or maybe it was just Marinette being too smart for her own good. But when the young Robin came bursting in through a window yelling Marinette’s name something had immediately clicked and she knew who he was. After she’d calmed the situation down and made sure no one fought anyone else, Marinette thanked Ivy and Harley for the nice day and let Robin carry her away. After talking with Tikki and deciding to be reckless and selfish for once in her life Marinette confronted Damian the next day, revealing her own identity in the process. There was some freaking out and a LOT of talking with Tikki and the rest of the bat clan but in the end it seemed to work out for the best. Ladybug was certainly happy to accept the help anyway even if Chat Noir wasn’t going to be.
A week later Damian finally asked Marinette out. Two days after that they shared their first kiss on the ferris wheel. And come the end of summer Marinette, Kitty Section and surprise guests Damian and Tim Wayne were all boarding a flight back to Paris.

It had been a full year now, and you weren't feeling any better.
"C'mon, we should go out! Lighten up, Y/N, it's been ages—"
"It's only been a year, Eunhi." You mumbled from your spot on the bed. You had moved in with your best friend after the breakup and hadn't made any plans on ever really leaving.
"Plus, it's the 11th..." You seemed to press yourself further into the covers, biting your lip to stop yourself from crying on the spot.
"It's his birthday, so what? It's about time you get over him!"
"It's the same day I broke up with him, Eunhi. Just let me be sad today!"
"No, none of that!" Eunhi said defiantly, pulling the covers over your head and pulling you up before looking you in the eyes. "Go out with me today, and I'll let you mope for the whole of tomorrow as compensation." She said, looking earnest in her attempt to get you up and going.
You sighed, sitting up straighter. With a bright smile, your friend went to pick out an outfit for you, leaving you to try and wake yourself up by scrolling through your phone. What you hadn't prepared for, however, was to see a picture of him on his birthday last year. You started crying at the memory, the photo on your phone going blurry...
"Happy birthday!" You and twelve others had chorused happily, laughing loudly as you watched Chan smile his charming smile and laugh his adorable laugh, your heart melting at the sight.
Mingyu had put one of those stupid party hats over his head, and Coups had been walking over with the cake, carefully manouvering around the dark room, since everyone had turned the lights off to illuminate Chan in the candle light.
You had been smiling from behind the camera as you filmed, watching him closely as he made a speech about how it had been one of the best birthdays he'd ever had in his whole twenty-one years of living. He had spared a glance in your direction, smiling cutely before taking a big breath to blow out the candles.
You had made sure to snap a shot before he could finish, everyone hollering at the new year with their maknae, a feeling of overwhelming happiness bubbling in your chest. In the midst of all the celebration, you hadn’t noticed Chan sneaking up next to you until he was right on top of you.
"I love you..." He’d whispered into your ear, side hugging you with a huge grin on his face.
You had smiled softly, had leaned up to kiss his cheek. “I love you, too."
•••
You took around two hours to get changed, fix your hair and let Eunhi do your make-up, feeling excited but nervous at the same time. This would be the first time that you'd actually go to a party since mid to late last year. You quietly wondered about how you might've forgotten how to party, let loose and enjoy yourself, but boy, were you wrong...
Around two to three hours after you had arrived, both you and Eunhi were absolutely wasted, thanks to so many rounds of shots, plus beer and soju.
Eunhi ended up going home with some guy she had met earlier that night, and you found yourself stumbling down the street and unconsciously walking to a house you hadn't been to in months.
•••
When you finally arrived at the front door, looking just like you had remembered it, you knocked and giggled to yourself about God knows what.
"Hello?"
"Soonyoung oppa!" You shouted excitedly, falling into the man at the door whom you had recognized almost immediately, even in your drunken state. The man in question widened his eyes, shock clear on his face. He tried to hold you up as best as he could, calling over his shoulder for Seungcheol and Mingyu to help him carry you inside.
"Y/N? What are you doing here?" Mingyu asked in a concerned voice as he helped stabilize you, Hoshi closing the door behind him and letting Mingyu and Coups take you to the couch. You looked around the house in wonder, burping and giggling to yourself.
"Wah, I didn't think I'd make it here. It's a very long walk, you know—"
"You walked here? On your own? At night?" Coups asked furiously, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "Y/N, so many things could've gone wrong!"
"I'm sorry..." You said with a pout, looking teary eyed. Wonwoo suddenly appeared from behind Mingyu, crouching down in front of you and looking at S.Coups warningly.
"Why are you here, Y/Nie?” He asked gently and with a warm smile as he calmed you down. You laughed and patted his cheek as if it was a normal occurance.
"Wha d'you mean? I came for Channie's birthday party, silly! D'you think I forgot?" You giggled stupidly to yourself, removing your shoes as you started looking around.
"Where is Chan, by the way? I haven't seen him a-ll day!" You searched the room frantically, getting emotional and teary-eyed and whiny while the others tried quieting you down.
"Guys, what's going…” Chan froze before he could finish his sentence, halfway inside the living room and watching as you were frantically screaming at Hoshi for not telling you were Chan was, asking if it was another stupid prank. “… on.”
Everyone went silent and your eyes lit up, moving toward Chan with a happy smile.
"Chan-ah!"
"What is she doing here?" Chan asked in a shaky voice, looking between his hyungs and back to you as you neared.
"She's drunk. She walked all the way—"
"She what?" Chan said, looking mad enough to break something. Turning to look at you, he began to chastise you but was cut off when you suddenly wrapped your arms around him, leaning your head against his shoulder.
"Happy birthday, Channie." You seemed to be crying as you held onto him, Chan looking almost as pained as you felt. He patted your back gently, leaning into you and whispering calming things into your hair until you eventually passed out. He carried you to the couch. He sat there, watching you sleep.
"What're you gonna do?” Hoshi asked him before he went to sleep. Chan shrugged, looking at his hyung with a smile.
"I'm gonna talk to her tomorrow, when she's sober. We need to talk..." He said thoughtfully, wishing his friend goodnight before eventually falling asleep with his head resting against the couch.
Though it might've been too soon, he had realized just how much he had missed you.

It's been a week since the breakup and Regina was out partying with the plastics, though in the back of her mind. All she could think about was Janis. The blonde sighed and chugged back the rest of her drink, which was fifth she's had that night, and put a plan into action. This may just be her intoxicated mind speaking, but she was going to get Janis back. She didn't even think to drive to her house, she walked the whole way there. Stumbling and mumbling incoherent things.
Janis had been staying up late, watching movies and binge eating popcorn. Damian wasn't able to make it since his parents had grounded him, so it was just her. Her parents were out too, having a date night. So you could imagine her surprise when a knock came to the door. She glanced at her clock, in bright glowing green the time showed that it was 1:23am. Another knock followed, sounding much more urgent which made her heart race. Maybe she shouldn't have been watching horror films.
Grabbing the bat she keeps at her bedside, she got out of bed and made her way downstairs. Trying to avoid the creaky steps, though of course one creaked anyways. Which made her pause and hesitate, but not as much as the voice she heard calling for her on the other aide of the door.
"JANIS!! Come on, I know you're home!" Regina yelled, she flinched and gripped the bat tighter. What the fuck was she doing here? At 1:30 in the morning? Janis quickly came to the conclusion that Regina was definitely drunk. Why else would she be there? She noted that her jeep wasn't in the driveway when she checked the window, which meant she must have walked too.
Carefully, Janis opened the door. Bat at the ready on her shoulder." What the hell are you doing here?" She was feeling a mixture of emotions. Though her anger toppled them all.
Regina's eyes locked with hers and without warning, she immediately kissed Janis. Throwing the shorter girl completely off guard." Shut up." Regina muttered against her lips. The bat slipped from Janis' hand and a lot of her anger melted in that moment. Replaced with longing and need. She missed her, more than she cared to admit. But she could smell the alcohol on Regina and that made her grimace. She knew this was wrong.
"Regina... we shouldn't be- you're drunk." Janis tried to reason with the other girl and herself. Though her efforts were pointless as Regina just kissed her again, pushing her up against the wall.
"I said shut up, didn't I? Put your mouth to a better use," Regina said through slurred speech, Janis' mind spun. And maybe some of the alcohol fumes got up into her head, but either way. She caved. This was all she'd wanted all week even if she would have never admitted it. Even if she acted like she completely hated Regina more than she ever had in her life; yeah. Part of her did still hate Regina. But an even deeper part of her loved the girl still. She was almost sure that nothing could change that.
She allowed Regina to kiss her, their lips moving with practiced ease against the other. Janis could feel Regina's nails digging into her hips and it made her groan against the blonde. The vibrations sending shockwaves through Regina. God, she missed this. Maybe that was just the alcohol talking, but she didn't care. In this moment all she wanted was Janis. The rest of the world could fuck itself.
The following morning, Regina found herself in the familiar sheets of Janis' bed. She groaned as she forced herself up, head pounding relentlessly as she reached for her phone. Seeing that she had a bunch of missed calls from Gretchen and a few untranslatable texts from Karen. She rolled her eyes, then looked at Janis. A million thoughts going through her head. Some yelling at herself for doing this, some wishing to do it again, others thinking about how beautiful Janis looked while she slept.
With a heavy sigh, Regina forced herself out of the bed. Stumbling to get her clothes on, she was just about out the door when Janis called her name. Shit. She woke her up.
"Regina?"
Regina looked back at Janis. This was going to make it harder to leave her again; why couldn't she have just stayed asleep? "Janis.."
There was a long silence between the two, each of them seeming to think about what to say. Almost wanting to convince the other to stay, even if they knew it might not end well again. But second chances were a thing, right? Maybe... Regina shook her head," No. I gotta go. This was- a mistake. A stupid fucking drunken mistake."
Janis was out of bed as she watched Regina try to leave, following her down the hall. Not even bothering to throw her clothes back on, knowing it would only waste time.
"Regina, hold on." She grabbed the blonde's wrist. Regina stopped in her tracks, but didn't look at Janis. Knowing if she did she could cave and stay. She couldn't do that. She had to be strong." I know we ended on not so great terms, but last night... you can't deny that there isn't still something there."
"Janis, I was drunk. I like everybody when I'm drunk." She rolled her eyes, trying to be harsh to get the girl to leave her alone. She forced herself to look at the ground, but Janis made Regina look at her. Regina could feel her resolve breaking as her eyes trailed her body.
"I don't want you to go." Janis admitted. Finally saying what both of them had been thinking this whole time. Neither wanted to leave the other again. They relied on each other more than they even realized.
Regina bit her lip, fidgeting with it between her teeth as she glanced at the door. It was so close, she could just leave and try to forget any of this ever happened... but she looked at Janis again. That look in her eyes...
"Fuck you." Regina kissed her again, there was no real hate in her words no matter how hard she tried to make it sound like there was and Janis kissed back. That was enough to get the blonde to consider a second shot. They deserved that much at least, right?

“This is one of my favorite episodes of my entire career span on NCIS. It’s so beautifully done and hits so many emotional levels for many different characters,” says Katrina Law, speaking with us about the twenty-first season finale for NCIS: Case Closed, our weekly aftershow.
It was particularly tough for her character, Special Agent Jessica Knight, who got an angry breakup speech from her boyfriend, Chief Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) after he heard she was considering taking a new job in California. Watch the video above for the two actors’ breakdown of the episode.
“It was a wonderfully human reaction that happens, that’s not planned,” Dietzen says. “Jimmy lost one of his best friends and his mentor this year. Losing his wife, even though it’s been a few years [still affects him]. Him saying, ‘I want something on my own terms’ — I can understand why that happened even if it’s not said eloquently or there’s a harsh edge that’s unusual to see from Jimmy Palmer.”
Tumblr media
That side of Jimmy sent Knight reeling. But things got much worse when a murderer locked her and boss Alden Parker (Gary Cole) below deck in a ship set to be blown up. The scenes were shot on a 30-year-old set once used for JAG (the show that launched NCIS) on a sound stage in Southern California.
Parker suffered a life-threatening injury and Law says Cole’s performance was so good she was genuinely concerned for his real-life health. “I remember looking at him and being like, ‘Oh, you don’t look well. This isn’t acting. Are you okay?’”
The character was so badly hurt that he began hallucinating a mysterious childhood memory: playing on a ship with a little girl named Lily.  When Knight asked the hospitalized Parker about it later, he couldn’t (or wouldn’t) go into it. “It’ll be interesting to see if Parker continues to deny his knowledge of who Lily is or if he goes forward and suddenly has a confessional moment,” Law says.
The team’s fearless leader only lived because Knight realized that to save him, she’d have to swim for help. For the underwater sequences, a small tank was built, and Law crowded in with a wetsuit-clad camera operator. “I’m a pretty strong swimmer. I used to surf. I scuba dive. I’m pretty comfortable and happy in the water,” Law says. “That being said, I always have a mask on, or my eyes are closed.” For this scene, she had to deal with myriad technical issues, including the possibility her contact lenses might float away. (Watch the video for details.)
With everyone safely back on land at the episode’s end, Knight agreed to take the California job. Law told us she’s been informed she’s staying on the show: “The writers said that they were going to bring me back, but they lie sometimes, so we’ll see what happens.” So, what could the producers come up with to keep Knight in DC?
“Maybe she goes and takes this job and realizes that she truly loves her NCIS team, or maybe she just wants to be back in a relationship with Jimmy full time. Maybe something happens with the NCIS team that calls her back. I think there’s a whole plethora of reasons that could make her either come back or stay,” Law says.

The cinematic dash through a packed airport is the quintessential piece of proof that you’re watching a love story. Absolutely no one runs through a terminal, the bustling version of hell on Earth, for anyone they don’t love with all their heart. So, with the final scene in GLOW season 3, the Netflix dramedy confirms its two leading ladies, best friends Debbie Eagan (Emmy-nominee Betty Gilpin) and Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie), are in their own version of a rom-com. Only in this story, its protagonists get the thriving friendship of their dreams rather than the guy.
That is why the ending of GLOW’s 2019 finale, “A Very GLOW Christmas,” is so heartbreaking. After a season of real growth, Debbie and Ruth’s friendship comes to a screeching, burning halt following that airport marathon. We’re left wondering if the wrestling series' bedrock friendship is breaking up for good. Thankfully, if you look at romantic comedy mechanics, there’s still hope for Netflix’s best pair of wrestler pals.
Debbie’s all-important airport run arrives in the last few minutes of “GLOW Christmas.” As the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling depart Las Vegas for their hometowns, Ruth’s flight is delayed. For a few seconds, Debbie believes she will have some time to talk to Ruth, her longtime friend and the most type-A person in the GLOW crew, about her big business secret: she has convinced Bash Howard (Chris Lowell) to buy a television station. It is a deal Debbie stole from her season 3 boyfriend, Tex (Toby Huss). Debbie will be the president of the network and she wants Ruth to direct the new for-TV iteration of the GLOW floorshow.
This possibility is what really makes Debbie's heart sing — sorry, Tex.
Ruth is the one who has been sending original helmer Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron) — who fled Sin City after Ruth rebuffed his romantic advances — daily director’s notes. Ruth is the one who continuously craves narrative control of GLOW and has been pitching storylines and set pieces for seasons. Sam even recognized Ruth’s tenacity for directing and named her co-director of the initial TV show at the end of season 2. Ruth is perfect for the job.
“I’m going to build us an eden,” Debbie promises. “Where we run the show. You and me. No more auditions. No more being at the mercy of these fucking idiots. We’ll call the shots.”
It’s the great romantic pledge made for the friend-com. But, Ruth says no. She is clearly hurt by the rest of Debbie’s speech, which rightly points out that if Ruth was supposed to be a famous actress by now, she would have become one. Why keep auditioning for people who don’t appreciate you when there’s a lucrative and fulfilling creative off-shoot that puts all of the power in your hands? Although Debbie is fully correct, Ruth pulls back, saying the directing power plan isn’t for her. “I don’t want what you want,” Ruth says, admitting, “I don’t want an off-ramp. I never even got on the road.” When Debbie says she doesn’t understand Ruth, we get the top rom-com line of the season.
“Yes you do — probably better than anyone,” Ruth shoots back while walking onto the plane and away from Debbie. The season closes on Debbie’s bewildered face before fading to black. As with many rom-coms, our central pair has to split up before they can come back together, stronger and smarter than ever.
GLOW suggests such a future is possible since Ruth’s departure can’t be the end for her and Debbie. Although someone getting on an airplane traditionally means a full break in pop culture, it’s not like Ruth is staying in Denver forever. As she says, she is still wants to get on the road to successful acting. That means she will be heading back to Los Angeles after the holidays if GLOW is renewed for a fourth season. That’s the same city where Debbie, Bash, and their network will be based, as well as Ruth’s estranged love interest Sam, who is now working on a movie with his daughter Justine (Britt Baron). Although Ruth may be trying to run away from Debbie’s very good plan, it’s inevitable these storylines are going to pull GLOW’s main foursome back together.
Maybe Ruth will agree to be an actress on new GLOW as long as her schedule allows her to keep auditioning for other parts. Maybe she’ll end up helping Sam produce his feature once she gets over the sting of his professional rejection in “The Libertines.” That way, she'll catch the directing bug. Maybe Ruth really will become an A-list actress and lead another program on Debbie's network. But, no matter what, Ruth is bound to get pulled back into Debbie’s GLOW orbit, just like any rom-com before this.
Only this time, something is bound to happen to make Debbie and Ruth the professional power couple we all know they can be. Those are just the rules.

This is something that has always bothered me because I can't quite put my finger on it. I noticed this during a recent rewatch and while it may be a stretch, I am following the writing. Would love to get your take.
In the Stelena breakup in Chicago, Stefan's speech seemed well thought out. It made me curious as to when he had these feelings.
He tells Elena that when Lexi found him as a ripper years ago, it took him 30 years to pull himself together. This would be half of her life, telling her to move on. He then tells her that that part of his life is over, telling her to move on. This made me curious as to WHEN these thoughts were confirmed in his head. He abandoned all sense of self by going ripper with his humanity on, so was it before he left with Klaus? Was it during his summer of self loathing that he realized he could never go back? Never be the Stefan in Stelena? Was it when he realized about the necklace and was being harsh to keep her away and safe?
So here's my thing. There is a subtle vibe during the cemetery scene in 2x21. Elena places a rose on Jenna/John's grave as Stefan intently watches. When she gets to her parent's, he gives this look away of guilt and sadness. Almost regret. Almost he never should have entered her life.
As she is tearfully mourning, she looks up to catch Damon's gaze. At that moment, she stands up. Almost as if she was about to go to him. Or at least was inviting him to come to her. Damon looks down and walks away and she continues to mourn. Stefan still continues to watch her in the background so he definitely saw this. It was a body language/posture change when Damon came. No way he didn't pick up on it.
So then he goes to Klaus for the cure. I assume he thought that he wasn't going to live. He does live and goes ripper. I assume he thinks that he is never coming back. Then he kills Andie and I assume he thinks...he is never coming back. When did he decide this? Was Damon a reason? What were his thoughts in the cemetery? What was his plan?
You started with 3x3 and worked your way back. I'm gonna start with 2x22 and work my way forwards. And yeah, this is long.
Though Damon tries to own the blame, he isn't to blame for Jenna and John, and I honestly don't believe Elena blames him for either. Still, she has reason to be upset with him because he force-fed her his blood. It's to my belief that she stands as a show of respect. Because even though she is upset with him, she appreciates the fact that he's there for her. Damon is… taking in the sight of her as much as possible because he knows he's dying and will never see her again. Not just how beautiful she is and how much he loves her, but the fact that she's alive. "I shouldn't have come home. I know the risk." Stefan knows exactly what he did. Whether fans accept it or not, it doesn't change the truth. Stefan knew better, and he made it all about himself, about his desire to know her.
When Stefan went to get the cure, he knew that Klaus wouldn't kill him. He knew because Klaus could've used him as the vampire sacrifice in the ritual, but chose not to. This is where fans and I disagree because while it's obvious that he gorged on blood bags to save Damon, he didn't leave town with Klaus to save Damon. He left town to protect Elena. She was supposed to die in the ritual, and he's hiding this from Klaus by leaving town with him. That's why he's trying to rush things. "Then are we done here? Can we go?" He knows the longer they stay in town, the more likely Klaus will catch sight of her. So yeah, he's ready to go. The text he gets from Elena is a love triangle text.
Tumblr media
You have Damon in the first half of the text, Stefan in the second half of the text, and Elena's name at the top because she sent the text. Just draw a line between Damon and Stefan, between "Damon's okay" & "Where R U?" That's the truth of 2x22. "You know Stefan blames me for trying to tear him from his brother, but I think we both know who really came between them. You." Stefan had no intention of coming back, not even after a decade with Klaus. "You won't be seeing her again, you know." Stefan's comment to him isn't about Katherine, it's about Elena. He's already playing Klaus for the fool. Elena is the entire reason Stefan never plans to return. She was supposed to die in Klaus' ritual, and she didn't. Staying away from Mystic Falls is all about her. They both know this and make it obvious several times. Just listen to Damon in 3x2. "Klaus thinks you died when he broke the curse. That makes you safe. This, this is not safe." And this is before he finds out about Klaus' hybrid problem. This is what Klaus means because yeah, if not for Elena, Stefan would've went home. Damon was cured by Klaus, so Klaus expected him to be alive. He didn't expect Elena to be. Stefan killing Andie was one of those things he did to push Damon and Elena together. "I understood why you cared for him. I mean, I practically drove you to it." So when he delivers this line in 4x6, know that he's referring to Andie's death… among other things. Stefan left for the sake of protecting Elena, so he wants both Damon and Elena to let him go. He believes they will if he pushes them together. He kills Andie, knowing that she's Damon's distraction from Elena solely for the purpsose of pushing them together. It would be like Stefan telling Elena to stop breaking bricks because it's about time she went about killing Katherine. That's what his intention was with killing Andie. He wanted them together, and had no problem with them being together because he never planned to return. That was the sacrifice he made for the sake of protecting her.
Stefan has a lot of reasons not to come home. In 3x3, it's no longer just about protecting Elena. His reference to Lexi and the 30 years it took to pull his life together is just part of it. "And what do you expect if I do? Huh? It's never going to be the same, Elena." He decided that part of his life was done the moment he came to accept that it would never be the same between him and Elena. Because it's true, it would never be the same between them. I know fans like to believe that Stefan is better because he attacks strangers rather than her loved ones, but no. Damon's attacks on her loved ones simply cut deeper because she loves them. We're talking about a girl that's written in compassion. She'd feel for every life that Stefan took. She can't unsee his wall in Chicago, she can't unknow what he spent his entire summer doing when he should've been home with her. This weighs heavily on Stefan, so what you're getting is 1x19 and 1x20, but on a much larger scale. He knows it's ruined. He knows it'll never be the same. He's literally destroying himself for Elena the same way Damon destroyed himself for Katherine, and what's worse in Stefan's case… is that Elena isn't Katherine. She cares about the lives he takes in a way that Katherine wouldn't. Not just the lives he takes, but the lives he takes for the sake of protecting her. She hates it, and Stefan knows she does. Elena doesn't want them killing people for her because she doesn't consider her life more important than theirs. That's not who she is.

Idk if you want to get into it but I always wondered what your thoughts were about Simone regarding the Jordayla situation. I personally don’t think she deserved to be upset or any of those feelings are valid esp considering her own emotional cheating and basically never caring what Jordan thought. And then the way she was constantly hating on Layla like I don’t understand why I should expect to be empathetic to a mean girl. Like she definitely wanted to have her cake and eat it and continue to string Jordan along and keep having those feelings for Damon. Please just weigh in if you can I’m really curious
Thanks for the Q. I actually haven’t watched AAHC so I’m missing a big part of the picture here.
The fallout of Jimone’s breakup was messy but I was always confused about what came from Simone and what came from the writers as agents of the viewers. The writers took on board a lot of fan commentary in the writing of S5 and it’s awkward and annoying (separate rant lol). By the end of S4, having been apart for ONE WHOLE SEASON, and falling into BETTER relationships, we were ready to give Jordan and Simone up. The 4x18–4x19 episode run was great, and so this S5 plotpoint of tension with Simone was annoying anyway.
I think Simone is allowed to be upset that Jordan is emotionally cheating on her. Jordan and Simone fell in love for real, they have history, and even if just by name, that is her boyfriend and he owes her loyalty. Jordan had checked out of this relationship which is why he wasn't upset about Simone and Damon, whereas this relationship is what Simone kept coming back to when reconciling her feelings for Damon, only for it to turn out that it's not here for her anymore. She wasn't dating Damon, she wasn't trying to date Damon, so she hasn't purposefully done anything wrong. Nor did she un-fall for Jordan. I don't think either of them wanted to break up. But now, if both of you are in love with someone else, you have to.
Thoroughly enjoyed the 4x18 confrontation. “Something shifted and there’s a connection” from Simone was cute and FAIR. Just very understanding and fair. The hurt was quite delicious to me. 5x01 is where it gets weird…
The hating on Layla, booo. Hated that. I guess she wanted to blame Layla. She owes Jordan something, but not Layla, so it's easier to misdirect her anger there, rather than address their issues. She was butthurt that Damon was with Thea and probably angry that she was feeling guilty “for nothing”. Damon hadn’t chosen her and neither had Jordan. Fine, but why’s Layla in it…? She gets called out each time though. Jordan says “You pushing this Layla point to make you less guilty” and Keisha mentions her “glass house at Bringston” so it’s all transparent and unambiguous.
In 2x07, I want to hear Simone's planned speech for Layla BADD. I don’t think Layla owed her a conversation, did she get one from Olivia? Jordan’s fight with Damon was confusing too. Honestly, these characters are just NOT as involved as they were making out lol.
Simone is hardly a villain but wrong as hell for the Layla part. Her hypocrisy is highlighted but even in the conflict resolution, Layla’s innocence is not made clear enough!

There was a fine line between confidence and having an ego. Wonyoung knew she vacillated between both concepts. Sometimes, she was this woman who carried herself with self-assurance and a strong sense of self identity. Yet many times, the idol maintained a much stronger ego. She wasn't sure where it came from, though she speculated that the industry she was in and the many comments she had read and heard about herself did play a huge part in it. Combined with her recklessness that came with her young age, the brunette was certain it was a recipe for disaster. This only amplified when she was around him — as if he was the main trigger who could bring out the worst side of herself. "I don't know, take a guess, smart ass" she sighed, channeling her frustration through her voice. Mingi wasn't wrong. She did enjoy listening to herself as much as she did watching herself — the egocentric side of the business swallowing her up so easily. Unfortunately, she was a victim of it and she wasn't sure she could ever get out of this vicious cycle, the same way she couldn't escape her ex and his provoking words. "What about it? You got a problem with it, Mingi?" This comment of his wasn't new to her. In fact, she had heard it constantly, especially around their breakup. The way she would express how disgusted she was by his action and how stupid he must be for cheating on someone like herself.
Cheating was one of the mistakes she had always sworn herself not to forgive. Yet, the first time Wonyoung had bumped into the other idol since their breakup, backstage of a music show, she found herself hazarding a few glances in his direction. Her mind telling her to stay away while her heart was desperate to have any sort of interaction with him, even if it was their signature argument. She could not explain what he did to her or why she felt that way but even months after, she couldn't seem to stay away for too long. The sudden thought of them in a secluded place was stupidly appealing. And the more he talked about it, the more she wanted it to happen. Her friends would absolutely kill her for having these thoughts. She could not get too close to someone who made her cry only months ago. Don't be stupid, she thought to herself. But like everything else, any rational thought vanished the moment she laid eyes on him. "You handled the old me. I got better at this now," she grinned though she was unable to hide the faint flush in her cheeks as he offered a wink. At times, she hated how weak she could be for him. And swiftly, thoughts of how she could conceal the effect he had on her formed in her mind. Soon, a mental note was made: wear more pink blush so he can't notice me blushing when he's around. It was a valid thought if it wasn't for the fact that almost all their interactions were never planned. "You looked like a baby with your nose all sunburnt, it was so adorbs!" she commented, amusement lacing her voice. "Maybe that was why I was nice to you, who knows," Wonyoung continued with a shrug of her shoulders before she focused back on the tteokbokki and took another bite of it. The heat from the spicy food crept up on her as she kept eating it, thankful that she had the corn dog to tame it down. "You're the one who keeps touching me, you weirdo!" she mentioned, not even waiting to swallow her food. The brunette was too eager to talk back to him like it was a competition. "You even licked my lips and kissed me like what the fuck?" she continued, completely ignoring his compelling yet childish argument. Now, the corn dog was a serious matter to her. She needed it to finish her tteokbokki without the heat making it impossible to eat it all up. "What happened to 'oh baby you can have anything you want' speech?" she curiously inquired, her words falling deeper as she imitated him. Playfully, she opened her mouth and soon found herself licking every corner of her corn dog painfully slowly, her brown orbs resting on his. Before finally handing it back to him. "Here, eat it now."
Fan service was a serious part of their job. Showing appreciation to the people that supported him and his members was important to the rapper. Giving them an innocent compliment or showing them attention for a few minutes shouldn’t have damaged his relationship with Wonyoung as much as it did. That’s the way he viewed it. Never understanding that his comments and flirtatious expressions could be a form of being unfaithful or appear that way. In an outsiders perspective, Mingi was in the wrong, and he should have fixed it sooner instead of the problem escalating to the point where a rumor caused the downfall of their breakup. No words of his could protect him when he had enough proof to say otherwise. Not realizing that trust had been crushed weeks prior to the rumor surfacing. He still didn’t realize how she couldn’t see the truth, and that despite his inappropriate comments towards the fans that he only had eyes for her. In no moment did he act or think about crossing that line of ruining what they had. But he also knew there was no chance to fix it unless whoever made the rumor would come forward that there was nothing else to the story besides it being completely fabricated. “Do you really?” The words should sting Minig’s chest but they only caused his heart to flutter at the cuteness she showed with one of her infamous eye roll. Though he agreed with her statement, he also copied her eye roll. A small sigh came out before he could realize it. “Sometimes I think you only like hearing the sound of your voice” He said it as if he wasn’t smiling just from listening to her talk.
In no way should this be entertaining for him. But his sanity was always put to rest whenever she was around. Mingi could already hear the groans from his friends once he told them about today’s adventure with his ex girlfriend. The guys would be mentally exhausted from hearing about the series of stories that the rapper had for them. He only meant to step out of the dorm room for a few minutes but he was confident that it had been much longer than that. The subject about what activities the pair could be doing behind closed doors should be prohibited. They shouldn’t even be trying to share food, but here they were. Standing in a place that they had been in before. “I don’t know,” he sighed. “I’ve handled you before. Many times.” He glanced at her with a swift wink. It was a relief that it wasn’t a busy street. Otherwise, they’d find themselves in a scandal that would be hard to bounce back from. The sweetness of the corndog still lingered on his tongue the longer he chewed it. Each chew reminding him of their trip to Busan and one of the few times that they had a good day. One that was spent mostly in each other’s arms and making each other smile instead of trying to have this screaming match. Of course, one or two arguments usually slipped through no matter what kind of day they had. His frown appeared faster than he could let out his next words. “That’s when we went to the beach and I got a small sunburn on my face. It was the only time you were nice to me” He mumbled the last part, taking another spoonful of his favorite food. Lost in the moment… well, mostly lost because of her, he once again got carried away. His body taking the lead when his mind should when he began to lick the sugary goodness from her lips and focusing on how soft she felt instead of remembering that they were still around the food vendor. “What?!” He asked innocently. His arm pulling back after she smacked him. “Then stop standing so close to me” He took a couple of steps back, giving them space. Mostly it was to appease her but also because he knew he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from pulling her in again. “And stop saying shit that’s making it seem like we’re a couple. Batting your eyes at me and pouting your lips like you just were” He pointed at her, using his whining voice to showcase that he was now bothered. “Give me the corndog. I paid for it and like you said… we’re not dating so give me it.”

Hello! I love all your analysis, could you do one of S2 E5 Tommy and Grace? And the way Tommy couldn't even speak when he heard Grace's voice 😍 He never did that with Lizzie or May.
Thanks.
Hey!!!  2X05 ? **Rubbing hands together ** where do we start?
Perhaps here...with a quick summarization and contextualization of tommy and grace’s relationship/ feeelings for each other, and love lives.
Tommy was in love with grace, and contemplated walking away from his business, his family and his friends for her, because she was the only woman he ever envisioned his life with. But he let her go. And tried to move on and forget her in may’ arms, which he failed to do. Despite his best efforts he couldn’t get her out of his system.
After tommy let her go, grace went to new york and tried to move on with her life. She married a rich, sweet and nice man. But two years after their breakup she was still thinking about him. That’s why she wrote him several letters, why she called him, and why she wanted to see him, when she came back to england.
“And the way Tommy couldn't even speak when he heard Grace's voice 😍 He never did that with Lizzie or May.”
I didn’t read too much into that moment. I honestly thought it was a mix of a lot of things/ emotions [ stress, fear, anxiety, anger...he was feeling too much emotions at once, that’s  why we saw him trying to recollect himself just before he answers the phone ] . Arthur and michael were imprisoned, campbell was threatening to put ada in harm’s way, and was trying to get him killed, his whole business was in disarray [ the scene before grace’s phone call was a conversation between tommy and campbell, conversation that ended with a teary-eyed tommy.] and adding grace’s phone call to the mix was just too much for him... That’s why he told her  it wasn’t a good time_ But he still took the time to talk with her because she’s “ grace”, and in his mind, she always comes first.
REUNION SCENE
They are both reserved and cautious when they see each other for the first time,  because there is an uncertainty at play_ They don’t know what the other feels or is thinking. Why did she/he come here, does he/she miss me as much as I miss him/her, does he/she still has feelings for me, is she/he in as much utter misery as I am without him/her.... so many questions, that need to be answered.
Tommy and grace can’t take their eyes of each other, and you can tell by the way they are looking at one another that the love and physical attraction is still there . And tommy talking about his plan for the night adds more sexual tension to the already existing tension between them. “ I lit a fire in the bedroom upstairs....Then I was gonna tell you, I hadn’t spent a day without thinking about you. And then we were gonna go upstairs and sleep together.” ; Grace is confused by what that tommy’s speech makes her feel, you can literally see it on her face...I bet my life she has butterflies in her stomach during that whole speech ( I know, I do, watching this  scene , lol) , that’s probably why she breaks eye contact.
Tommy admits it,  he has been thinking about her . But because he’s tommy SHELBY, he needs to let her know that, yes, he thought about her a lot, but he’s not overly attached to her and his happiness doesn’t depend on her , “I changed my mind...So you can go.” ( that man... a whole walking paradox. He says a nice thing to her, then acts like an asshole...lol, he’s clearly pulling a push and pull game on her... and challenging, testing her, will she stay?will she leave? will she give up on me...us ? does she really wants us...me?
It’s a bold move. Grace looks as bloody perplexed as the audience, and could  walk out at any moment...but she doesn’t, because  she wants to be there and her questions need answers. The word guilty is written all over her face, she probably believes he still resents her for what she did to him two years ago. But that smirk tommy can’t surpress...that little corner of his mouth that turned up into a smile tell us how happy he is to see her.
[ Thanks to his little game, he now has  answers to some of his questions...He  knows grace is happy in new york, he knows her husband is rich and sweet and kind to her, and he also knows that she didn’t go there for sex because she doesn’t love him anymore ].
No more challenge, antagonism and testing grace. Tommy comes clean, and tells her that his whole opening gambit was to skip talking about the past, and that his real plan was to impress her( tommy romeo, isn’t he sweet?) , of course, he really just wants to take her out to meet a movie star. This is grace and tommy we’re talking about...he’s always trying to deserve her.
And what was bound to happen after a perfect night out, between two people  who love and miss each other dearly  is happening.
Tommy and grace are languorously kissing while grace is trying to get answers to her questions.Tommy “do you have someone?” , tommy ignores the question and keeps kissing her. Grace “The coin landed the wrong way ?” tommy “It couldn’t have worked.” .  She asks the same question, again, because she needs an answer to that question, “tommy do you have someone?” Tommy knows grace really wants to know if he has someone, and won’t stop asking that question till she gets her answer.
So, he takes a deep breath, looks at her, and tells her ,“ I have a racehorse. She’s gonna win the derby.” He could mention may, grace asked the same question twice, but he doesn’t.  And won’t mention her, because he’s trying to win grace over, and mentioning may could ruin his chances with grace. That’s why he gives her a half truth, and grace decides to believe it....in order to be able to completely lose herself in tommy’s arms, grace needs and wants it to be true, so she accepts that answer .
OK,ok, I think we will go straight to the “after sex” part, because this is getting too long ( they obviously made love to each other like there was no tomorrow).
The tension between them is back. Their feelings for each other are even more clear to them after that intense love making session they just had. But they still haven’t realized their love isn’t one sided. Grace had a lot of questions and tommy answers weren’t satisfying to her. She asked him over and over again if he has someone, she wanted him to tell her, he still loves her... his answers were supposed to be the cataclysm that would've set everything in motion...
Tommy knows grace is happily  married[ because she told him so ] , and will sail back to new york with the man she loves. So he doesn’t even try to ask her to stay.
During their last conversation we have a “baby” reveal, grace tells tommy , her husband and her are trying for a baby... Something tommy didn’t see coming!!!
He’s literally like wut !?!?!! as if the thought of grace having a baby with someone else never crossed his mind. Grace is married and the next logical step after a marriage are babies, but the idea of grace having a child with another man...her husband doesn’t sit well with his spirit.
His reaction, his silence are not only out of surprise, anger, pain but also jealousy. that man is married to the woman he loves, and is about to have a baby with her....he has eveything tommy ever wanted. If tommy had any doubts at all about his feelings for her and what he really wanted , here, he realizes that grace being with someone else really stings and hurts beccause he wants to be that “someone”.
Tommy is upset, confused, hurt...and wants to know why she is there, with him tonight, “ The doctor believes it’s surely me who’s at fault.” After that answer tommy is relieved, apologizes, tries to comfort her, and then asks if he can see her again.
I want to camp out in this  for a bit....
That moment where tommy caresses grace’s arm while looking into her eyes is so soft and intimate and vulnerable. Annabelle Wallis and Cillian Murphy  are unbelievable in this scene. They harness their character’s emotions and reservation to display them so perfectly. You can literally see tommy’s eyes and general disposition soften as he asks to see her again and says her name  “grace”. CAN I SEE YOU AGAIN.
But his request is met with silence. And that silence is synonym of “NO”. No, because he didn’t give her satisfactory answers, no because he didn’t give her any valid reason to blow up her marriage for him, no she isn't going to see him again , even though she clearly wants to.
After challenging grace to “go”, tommy is now challenging her to tell her husband about them “tell him the truth”. Prove me you love me,... PROVE ME YOU LOVE ME. SHOW ME YOU REALLY WANT TO BE WITH ME. He keeps testing her because he’s not quite sure of her feelings for him . This moment between them is the reason we’ll later get the “I was right not to tell him. I could’ve phoned him and lied but I didn’t .Just tell me that I was right not to phone and lie. Agree with that, tommy.”  Tommy “Yes, Yes grace”, the  “Because the thing is, I LOVE YOU NOT HIM”  tommy “that is a thing” and that “YOU ONCE SAID TO ME THAT MEN LIKE US CAN NEVER BE LOVED. SHE LOVES ME, SHE TOLD ME.... SHE LOVES ME.” moments. ( Excuse me, I need to scream, 2X05 and 2X06 really gave us the best tommy x grace moments and quotes.) .
Thanks for the ask.

Hi hi! For the song prompt list, totally random number hm could you do number 9? Thank you! ❤️
Tumblr media
Hello! @weirdbutnodifferent, Thank you for this Completely Random Number. It just happens to be "betty" by Taylor Swift, so I do hope that's okay with you.
This is, of course, going to be the last in the trilogy of august (Draco POV) and cardigan (Ginny POV), but for anyone reading this who is thinking I'm following Taylor's story exactly as she wrote it, worry not! This series, as you're about to read, has a happy ending for Drarry. CW: making up after a past breakup.
This is Harry's POV. Enjoy!
I didn't forget, Draco.
I know that's sort of the bare minimum, and I have a lot to make up for here. But I just want you to know, first off, that I remember every minute, every detail of that summer. I could never forget the best few months of my life.
It's over with Ginny. Gods, I'm the worst for putting her through this. And you; all three of us, really, but mostly the two of you. I'm so sorry I wasn't brave enough to tell you both what I wanted.
I think that, at the time, I was scared about any divergence from the path I'd been imagining since I was eleven. Everyone thinks Gryffindors are so impulsive, and of course, we can be, but when you're a child being used as a pawn in a game you only barely understand, controlled by a prophecy set from fucking birth, impulsivity only goes so far. I was used to that; following plans set out for me beforehand by some force. Dumbledore, Voldemort, fate itself—take your pick. I don't know how impulsive I can really be when my every move is predicted, pre-designed before I can even think to make it.
But trust me when I say that I've thought about this moment, right now, ever since that summer ended. I've watched you at Ministry galas, wondering why you've never brought a date other than your mother or Pansy. Wondering if you know how much I had to hold myself back from striding across the room and grabbing you by the waist and kissing you senseless; or even saying something as simple and mundane as, 'Hi, Draco.' Wondering what you'd say if you knew how many letters I wrote with a whiskey-soaked mind late at night and then vanished in the morning. Wondering when this twisting, sharp ache in my chest would stop rendering me momentarily speechless at the mere mention of your name.
I'm done wondering. I'm done wasting time. And I know that showing up to your birthday party unannounced seems impulsive, but I don't know if it really is if I've been dreaming of this for six years.
I'll kiss loving marks onto your skin. I'll hold your hand and protect your heart and create enough new memories to leave the last six years in the distant past. 'Let me stay this time,' I'll murmur against your lips. 'Tonight, and forever.' And now that I'm a man worthy of your love, instead of a boy too scared to believe he could deserve it, I'm here. On your doorstep. Rehearsing this speech one last time in my head before I say out loud what you deserved to hear six years ago.
You're about to open the door, and I'm nervous; but I think that the day I left, I knew somewhere, in the back of my mind, that I'd be back. And now, I know just where to start.
"Hi, Draco."
I have a playlist of my 99 most listened-to songs of the year so far. Check my pinned post to see what's been done, then pick a different number between 1-99 and send me an ask and I’ll write you a fic based on it!

Billboard’s Greatest Pop Stars of 2021: #1 - Taylor Swift
By: Jason Lipshutz for Billboard Date: December 16th 2021
Tumblr media
“You guys turned a hard thing into a very, very wonderful experience,” Taylor Swift told an audience of diehard fans at a November screening of her All Too Well short film at New York City’s AMC Lincoln Square theater. Before unveiling the self-directed companion piece to the 10-minute version of the fan favorite epic of the same name, featured on the re-recorded Red (Taylor’s Version), Swift expressed gratitude to a group of supporters that helped turn a non-single breakup track from her original 2012 album into a signature song worthy of expanding past the double-digit minute mark. “All Too Well” could have been little more than a personally revealing footnote to her career, Swift pointed out; instead, the fans identified its intimate power, championed it, and ultimately revived it, to create one of the most eagerly anticipated revisited songs in pop history. “All of this is happening,” Swift told her audience, “because you made this happen.”
Well, yes and no. Swift is correct that the fandom that gathered around “All Too Well” - a long-form songwriting feat, with some of the most evocative lyricism of Swift’s career - in the nine years since its original release helped clear the path for “All Too Well (10-Minute Version)” as a capital-E Event stretching beyond the Swifties into the mainstream. Yet she deserves a ton of credit herself: No other popular artist harnessed that type of fan energy with as much passion and imagination in 2021 as Swift, across albums and platforms, on projects that challenged the modern music industry while still succeeding wildly within it.
Swift began 2021 still riding high from a triumphant 2020 – a year she reasonably could have taken off, having delivered her Lover album in August 2019 and watched her planned Lover Fest stadium shows fall victim to the pandemic the following year. Instead, Swift fell down a musical rabbit hole that yielded two full albums and, in hindsight, catered perfectly to her songwriting strengths. The first one, Folklore scored the largest debut week for an album in 2020 upon its July release, and companion piece Evermore earned the fifth-largest in December, both ending 2020 and starting 2021 atop the Billboard 200 albums chart.
With Evermore, Swift continued the sonic reinvention kick-started by Folklore, an unexpected alt-folk exploration recorded in secret during quarantine with indie vets like The National’s Aaron Dessner and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. Evermore would go on to spend three total weeks atop the Billboard 200 in 2021. Meanwhile, its hushed, woodsy single “Willow,” which launched atop the Hot 100 in December alongside the album release, grew into a radio success in the spring, ascending to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Pop Airplay chart in April.
Before that, however, Swift won another album of the year trophy. At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in March, Folklore took home the top prize — the third of Swift’s career, following wins for Fearless at the 2010 ceremony and 1989 in 2016. Not only did the win help Swift enter the record books, as the fourth artist overall and only woman with three album of the year wins (following Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon), the accomplishment was also a bit of personal validation after Swift’s two previous albums, 2017’s Reputation and 2019’s Lover, were not even nominated in the top category. Once again, Swift thanked the fans, this time for embracing the artistic swerve of her 2020 output: “You guys met us in this imaginary world that we created,” she said in her acceptance speech, “and we can’t tell you how honored we are forever by this.”
One month later, Swift returned to that first album of the year winner of hers. In April, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) kicked off the behemoth endeavor of re-recording her first six studio albums. Announced in 2019, the project followed the acquisition of Swift’s master recordings by Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings, as a way for her to essentially reclaim ownership over the period of her career that made her a household name. What could have been an industry curiosity based around a rights dispute instead played out like a widescreen revisit to a pivotal era of Swift’s career, as hits like “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story” were lovingly re-created, and previously unreleased tracks from the Fearless recording sessions were finally unveiled as “From The Vault” treasures.
The amount of care that Swift put into Fearless (Taylor’s Version) turned the 26-track set into a must-hear remake of the diamond-certified original, and fans embraced it as such. The full-length became the first re-recorded version of a previous No. 1 album to top the Billboard 200 albums chart upon its release, with the biggest debut week of 2021 at the time with 291,000 equivalent album units, according to MRC Data.
It wasn’t the only way that Swift’s towering legacy cast a shadow over the first half of 2021, either. In between the April release of Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and the June announcement that Red (Taylor’s Version) would be the next re-recorded album to arrive in November, Swift proved a key influence, and contributor, to another artist’s year-defining album. Pop singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo hasn’t been shy about her love of Swift’s music over the course of her breakout year, name-checking the superstar as a sonic and spiritual guide when “Drivers License” was released back in January, and receiving an Instagram shout-out from Swift during the debut single’s quick ascent.
Rodrigo’s debut album Sour took the adoration even further upon its May release: the heart-wrenching piano ballad “1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back” borrowed from Swift’s own heart-wrenching piano ballad, 2017’s “New Year’s Day,” resulting in Swift and Jack Antonoff being listed as writers on the track. Two months after the album’s release, Rodrigo also added Swift, Antonoff and Annie Clark as co-writers to the post-breakup reflection “Deja Vu” due to the bridge’s similarities to Swift’s own complex-romance remembrance, 2019’s  “Cruel Summer.” Rodrigo is pop’s rookie of the year with 2021’s biggest breakthrough album - which Swift gets some of the credit for, in ways both figurative and literal.
Delays in the vinyl shipping of Evermore pushed the album back to the top of the Billboard 200 when the record was finally sent out to fans in June, displacing Sour at #1 for a nice bit of teacher-student pop interplay. Swift stayed active all summer, guesting on two songs on How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last?, the latest album from Dessner’s Big Red Machine project - a charming continuation of the Folklore/Evermore era of gentle songwriting and rustic textures - and tossing out the Taylor’s Version re-recording of 1989’s “Wildest Dreams” to have a little fun with an unexpected viral moment the song was enjoying on TikTok.
But by then, the 1989 era wasn’t the one fans were anxiously awaiting to revisit. If Red (Taylor’s Version) had simply matched Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in terms of fanfare and listenership, Swift’s year would have still been pretty spectacular. Instead, her second re-recorded album wildly outpaced its predecessor in nearly every way, turning the release of “All Too Well (10-Minute Version)” into a cultural sensation - The short film! The remarkable SNL performance! The new lyrical allusions that launched a thousand Jake Gyllenhaal jokes! - and another chart-topper for Swift. With its November debut atop the Hot 100, “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” also became the longest #1 in the chart’s history - in the age of TikTok virality and dwindling attention spans, no less.
The expanded “All Too Well” wasn’t the only new revelation from the set, which also boasted new collaborations with Phoebe Bridgers, Ed Sheeran and Chris Stapleton on old “From The Vault” tracks; the Stapleton team-up, “I Bet You Think About Me,” has been getting airplay on Swift’s old stomping grounds of country radio. In the end, Red (Taylor’s Version) drove as much conversation as any of Swift’s recent all-new studio albums, and scored a blockbuster debut, with 605,000 first-week equivalent album units moved - good for the third-best debut week of 2021 with, it bears repeating, the majority of its songs released nearly a decade earlier.
Even without a proper new album in 2021, Swift sent three separate projects to the top spot of the Billboard 200 during the calendar year - the first female artist to accomplish that feat in the chart’s 65-year history. And in November, one final domino fell for Swift’s re-recordings project when iHeartRadio announced that it would now only be playing Taylor’s Versions of her older hits from each album as they rolled out - after streaming platforms had already given them prominent placement on main pages and major playlists. In addition to the impressive sales of her re-recorded albums, the reactions from the streaming and radio worlds underline the widespread acceptance that these new recordings have replaced the classic versions as the ones listeners will be digesting and caring about moving forward.
As Swift enters 2022, she once again has the chance to make history: Evermore is nominated for the album of the year Grammy, and a victory at the Jan. 31 ceremony would make her the most celebrated artist in the 64-year history of the category. While other popular artists are rightfully celebrating award nominations and chart achievements, Swift can do both, while also credibly changing the way artists can approach creative ownership and sonic shifts. If Swift changed the game in the mid-2010s when pivoting from country to pop, playing it top 40’s way and earning the splashiest commercial wins of her career, including the distinction of also being Billboard’s Greatest Pop Star of 2015, the past year found her rejecting the game entirely and drawing up her own rules. Now, she has the power to pull any sound she wants into her mainstream orbit, or make any industry institution reckon with her impact. She could release a 20-minute version of a song on her next re-recorded album, and you’d be foolish to bet against it becoming a hit.
Taylor Swift is making the type of moves within and outside of her music that elevate an artist from superstar to legend. Those moves are often very hard to execute, but no one who had been paying attention was the least bit surprised when she stuck each landing. Wind in her hair, Swift is here, and making it look all too easy.

Why it is likely to be a fake PatPran break up (based on the characterizations and plot progressions they've shown throughout 10 EPs and how I interpret them):
1. Pat's apology feels out of character, almost too performative.
During their "honeymoon", unlike Pran, Pat never shows any conflicting emotions about his parents/family. His only concern is Paa, and he already told her so she wouldn't get worried.
Yes, he might come home only because Pran wanted to, but it still doesn't explain this docile apology.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Their family feud is never news for them
Before they found out the truth, PatPran had always known their families hated each other's guts. PatPran already had an established theory (the business thing and the stealing-my-employee thing) and they also believed both sides would never forgive each other because of said reasons. But still, a breakup was never an option for them. But why is it suddenly the only option now?
I mean, yes, it probably slaps reality into them, like, "wow so they'd really NEVER be in good terms. Our relationship really has no future, huh."
But again, that's not news. Even Pran had come to terms with it. In EP 8, he told Wai, "you can't step back, but you can't move forward, either." He always knew, but he still decided to go for it. And he was very committed to it, too. He never took back his words, no matter the obstacles thrown at them.
So why breaking up? It doesn't add up.
And, unlike the novel, the parents in the series never threatened them like "if you don't break up with him, I would..."
I feel there's not enough urgency to force a breakup.
If they are consistent with PatPran's characterizations so far, Pat and Pran would've probably went home, holding hands and walking in to Pran's house, and pleaded their case to Dissaya.
...or, they plan a fake breakup.
Because:
3. "Play-pretend" seems to be Pat-Pran's modus operandi when they need to make space for processing things.
- Flirting -> competition
- Fake-breakup status to make Wai talk to Pran again
- Running away from home -> a honeymoon trip
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Going home =/= breaking up
I see many people equating Pran's wanting to go home as his wanting to end their relationship. No. For me, he just wants to check up on his mom and not leaving her alone. The only thing that he ends is the illusion that all is fine. It's time to go back and face the issue.
5. Pat's speech =/= breakup speech
On that same note, for me, Pat's speech is confirming to Pran that he is now ready to go back to reality, THEIR reality. He thanks Pran for indulging him, for letting him pretend they're on a honeymoon.
"No one works on their honeymoon." Meaning Pat letting Pran know he is done pretending. He is ready.
"You never leave me. You fight alongside me. That makes me very happy."
For me, Pat says that he doesn't feel afraid anymore because all this time, did Pran ever leave Pat to fight alone? Never. Not even once.
So let's go back, and fight together like we always do.
6. Good luck, buddy =/= not boyfriends anymore
Just like the fist bump, "buddy" is their inside joke. They still do the fist bumps; it's not out of character if they still use the "buddy" term sometimes. I feel like it's Pran's attempt to make the situation lighter.
And it works, because it makes Pat smile. Because no matter what happens after they walk in their houses, things between them would remain the same.
"Good luck" as in "good luck executing the fake breakup plan."
7. The wristwatch and the earphone bag
When Pran had to part with Pat in high school, he put everything Pat-related in a box. Out of sight, out of mind. When he avoided Pat in EP 6, he asked Wai to keep his guitar. Again, out of sight, out of mind. And in both cases, PatPran weren't even boyfriends.
The Pran we know would not wear the watch and earphone bag if they broke up for real. He couldn't handle seeing those items when they were just friends, and now after they had kissed and held and made love to each other? Nah.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
----
I could be wrong but this is what make sense for me after I follow Pat and Pran's journey for 10 episodes. I'm gonna stay in this bubble until I'm proven otherwise by next EP.

It took you long enough
Chapter I: A fresh start
Relationships: Quicksilver x fem!reader  —   Warren Worthington III x fem!reader
Warning: angst but nothing else (things will get smutty at some point, but not in this chapter)
Summary: The story takes place in 2022, in an AU similar to our world, so there are no mutant powers. Reader is a french girl entering our heroes university (kind of similar to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters). She will meet characters from the X-Men Universe, making friends, meeting boys, finding her way in this life. I don’t want to spoil anything but there will be a love triangle, a very slow burn and some smutty stuff towards the end. Just remember that I’m a Maximoff girl ;)
Author’s notes: This is my first time posting a fanfic omg!! I am french (like the reader, yes), so I’m really sorry if there are mistakes. Don’t hesitate to tell me, I would be happy to correct things! Tell me if you like the story, I will be updating the following chapter very soon
---
Entering this new school was quite a challenge for you, but after all, maybe it was what you needed. You left France to start studying in the US, near New York, after a hard breakup. You needed a fresh start, new people to meet, a whole new world to discover. This university had a great reputation and with your grades in France, you had had no difficulties to integrate their program. Before leaving France, you had been very eager to go; but since you arrived, you were starting to feel very stressed. What if you had made a terrible mistake? What if you could not make new friends?
You were there for just two days and already regretting it. You spent the first two nights at a hotel, waiting for the welcoming week at your new school. You were told that a lot of activities and parties would take place during this time. You felt anguished at the idea of meeting new people, even though you came here for this exact purpose. Maybe it was not too late to come back to France and reintegrate your old school.
You were supposed to finish your Master Degree in mathematics there since you had already studied for four years in France. The dean had made a speech for you, newcomers. It was a bald man in a wheelchair named Charles Xavier, who seemed quite nice. There were very few new students with you at this presentation, since it was just for people integrating a master degree from another school, like yourself. You had watched the other people around you, but did not get the nerve to talk to any of them, anxiety and shyness washing over you.
As you got out of the classroom where the presentation took place, you remained standing in the beautiful wooden hall with your two suitcases, people swarming around you. You were told by the dean that students were supposed to show you the building and that you got to present yourself to more meetings during the week. But, something felt quite off, like you did not really belong there and it was starting to make you feel very anxious. You were starting to plan your escape when a girl wearing a very colorful outfit came right to your direction to greet you:
“Hey! You’re one of the new students right? I don’t think I have seen you before! My name’s Jubilation Lee, but you can call me Jubilee.”
She was shaking your hand quite vigorously, a big smile on her face, obviously waiting for you to introduce yourself.
“Oh! Hi, my name is Y/N YL/N. And yeah, I’m new here” you said sheepishly.
“ Oh my god, she said. Are you french?? Oh my god, your accent is sooooo cute! You’re going to make a lot of people fall for you, I’m sure!  I’m already thinking about people I could introduce you to! Do you prefer girls or guys? Or both? Or none?”
“ Oh thank you, but I’m really not ready for that right now” you said, feeling embarrassed. “ I just got out of a pretty serious relationship, so I think I’m going to stay away from boys for the moment.”
“ Oh, I’m really sorry sweetie…” she said, and you were sure she meant it. Maybe finding a friend might not be so difficult after all. “But you know, some times, the best way to forget about a guy is to fuck another guy. And I have a bunch to introduce you to” she added, winking at you.
You felt your cheeks warming at her words. You were definitely not ready to “fuck another guy”, but at least this girl was quite nice and fun. And it could not hurt to meet new people.
“Ok” she said, “I am supposed to show you the different classes, offices, libraries, cafeterias, etc. We are going to do that quickly so that I can bring you to your room and then we will go to the welcoming party in the park and you will tell me everything about you!” Her speech flow was very quick, so was her path inside the building. She really was something and you liked her energy. She was showing you every room of this amazing building. Even for a French girl like you, it was quite astonishing. Everything was stone and wood. Your school in France was very different, you had not had the chance to go to a very prestigious university there.
While she showed you the cafeteria, she asked you if you cooked. “Yes, I do. Quite a lot actually” you answered, a light smile on your lips. “Oh my god!” she said, “you’ll have to cook for us! Peter is going to love you, he is such an ogre!”. You had no idea who this Peter guy was, but you were happy to know that your cooking skills could be useful here.
“You’ll see, we have the cafeteria but we also have a huge kitchen at the end of the building, near the dorms. I hope you’re going to make us some delicious french meals, I can't wait!!”
You laughed at her reaction and that’s when you saw him. One of the most handsome guys you had ever seen. Oh god, you were so fucked. He was standing 10 feet away from you in the hallway, talking with a very beautiful dark haired girl. You felt a pinch of jealousy in your heart when you saw them laughing together, even though you did not know who that guy was. Jubilee must have seen you gazing at him because she grabbed your arm, turned you to her, a big smile on her face and whispered quite loudly : “Oh my god! You already have a crush! I must introduce you to him!! That is the perfect guy to forget your stupid ex with!”
You tried to escape, feeling more panicked by the second, while she was pushing you towards the guy and his friend. Noticing you and Jubilee, they watched you quizzically as you were battling with her. Jubilee did not let you run away and still pushing you, greeted them, a big smile on her face : “Hey guys! What’s up? I need to introduce you to Y/N, she is from France and she will study here from now on!”
The pretty girl smiled at you and reached your hand to shake it “Hi Y/N, I’m Rebecca!”. You shook her hand and answered to her shyly: “Nice to meet you.” Your gaze automatically switched its direction and got caught in the boy’s eyes. He was so fucking handsome, you felt your cheeks immediately burn as his eyes bore into yours. He, too, grabbed your hand to shake it. His hand was big and soft and as he studied your face and smiled, you heard his beautiful voice say to you : “Hi Y/N, it’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Warren.”
