🕯On All Hallows’ Eve when the moon is round, a virgin will summon us from under the ground… 🕯

Hello Salem! This year for Halloween I wanted to get a Hocus Pocus painting done to celebrate the sequel premiering and the 29th anniversary of the original film. The basis for this piece was a series of sketches I did in 2018 which you can view in a saved story on my page! The sisters mostly stayed the same but I updated a few details since four years is a long time and my design style changed has slightly. In 2018 I was imagining what the sisters would wear if they had new outfits made in purgatory, so this is a continuation of that idea.

🕷 Sarah’s design is pretty straightforward. I was inspired by Mary E Vogt’s original concept which featured layers of silk scraps and beads to create something really ethereal. Basically it’s her costume from the first film but totally ripped to shreds, a little more revealing and sexy.

📖 Winnie’s dress is influenced by her Queen Elizabeth I hairstyle. I gave her an Elizabethan silhouette complete with collar, but of course kept her long “wizard sleeves.” My favorite detail of Mary Vogt’s original design is Winnie’s red petticoat, so I made her base skirt entirely red. The red color actually ties all three sisters together, since each features red somewhere in their design.

🧪 Mary’s design was the biggest departure from my original 2018 sketch. In the years since, she has become my favorite sister so I wanted to give her a dress that was really gorgeous. As @theaustinjayshow has pointed out, no design series from me would be complete without a tiered skirt, with either pointed or rounded petals, so that’s how Mary manifested this time. Each of the scarves reflects the patterned fabric of her original costume.

My enduring fantasy is that, since the variants branched from the sacred timeline and are essentially copies of the main versions of themselves, they can’t go back (or else they’ll be multiple Mobiuses in the same timeline etc), unless they go to a time before or after their other selves have been born/died. So all the variants we know (Loki, Sylvie, Mobius, B-15, Casey, & C-20) don’t fit in to any point in time.

And that’s how we get a timeless found family dynamic with Sylvie/C-20 having bar dates, Loki/Mobius having waterfront dates, and Casey and B-15 tagging along for the free drinks and fish :)

I realised too much angst today, so to make it up I'll offer this alternative:

Maybe the variants can't return to their timelines bc there's already the original them there. So they're going to find another life to live. So even if Mobius does have a family, he can't go back to them. He'll have to make a new life.

ORRRR, maybe Mobius' life wasn't exciting at all, maybe he was a lonely man with a boring job, and maybe that's why even brainwashed he longs for adventure, maybe that's something that stayed with him.

So, maybe, when everything's resolved, he won't have to leave Loki, he won't have any motivation to go back to his dull life, he could go on along with the god (and maybe also the goddess) of mischief to find more adventures, never having to be bored again

I am so with you. This has always been one of the most important things to me and given how it looks like there will be a lot of focus on Kie this season, I really do think we’ll get it. Even though JJ has the obvious feelings, Jiara has ALWAYS been more about Kie and what would equally suit her than the other things she had with the other two boys (from the moment a lot of us heard “did you tell JJ”) and that’s so important to me that they see that all the way through. And I want Kie to be the one who puts Jiara in motion because… it has to be her. For so many reasons.

CASUALLY JEALOUS KIE IS ONE OF MY GREATEST WISHES SINCE S1 🕯🕯🕯 he’s a known flirt and Kie is my petty queen so like they legally have to.

Although you know what I also really need? I’ve been screaming with some of my fellow lunatics about this this week but I want the L word used in context with JJ’s feelings for Kie before they get together. We know he’s always had feelings for her, but I think this would up the angst and pining so well. I don’t care if he says it to someone else or if someone else just says something like “he loves her” or “you love her”. And I want confirmation that it’s always been her.

Ahead of the final episode of Chucky, here is my unsolicited dissertation on Devon, Junior and how they deal with death and losing everything. (Will also feature some Jevon crying)

I see Junior Wheeler and Devon Evans as each other's foil in the aftermath of their mothers' death. Junior is consumed with hate and blinding grief that he snaps and kills while on the other hand we see that even though he pushes Jake away, a grieving Devon isn't out for vengeance but rather a sense of control of his life and looking for justice for his mother. Chucky wanted both of them to see the parent they were close to die so they can finally become unhinged and kill, unfortunately for him Devon is just too kind and tenderhearted that he couldn't ever murder someone so he tries his luck with Junior.

Devon going to the Ray house alone, while stupid, is an act of "I don't have anything to lose" and "I need to stop Chucky from hurting anyone else." He is reckless and uncaring for his life because he lost the only parent he had so why would he value his safety? She was his protector and now that she's gone, he has no one to watch and keep him save or someone he can call for help. He feels vulnerable but not raging mad that he would go on a murder rampage and THATS what turns Chucky away from him, he can't manipulate someone who knows what he is and what he did. Devon has lost his mother the only parent he has left, he might have to move away from the only place he knew and leave behind his friends, he is the character we see the least of emotion wise so who knows what else has been eating at him? His inability to continue his relationship with Jake is understandable because at the end of the day it is JAKE’S doll, whether Chucky was gonna go on a murder spree either way doesn’t matter, Chucky is after Jake and Devon is a huge part of Jake’s life and by transfer law Detective Evans was fair game because she was the mother of a guy Jake adores so a hurt to Devon is a hurt to Jake and Devon copes with this by shutting everyone out. Jake especially. He’s not blowing a gasket but he’s repressing the true feelings he has. Devon is a classic “I’ll keep everything to myself but offer everyone else around me all my energy to make sure THEY are okay.” A deflector.

In terms of Junior and him immediately trusting a doll that just told him it tried getting his cousin to kill but failed is more a show of how unhinged he is. its not misplaced anger but just a complete snap. He lost his mother, his father is an alcoholic who to him looks like was cheating on his sick wife, his ex-girlfriend who was the most antagonistic person towards his cousin is suddenly best friends with him now and his best friend now seems to be dating the bane of his existence AKA Jake. in his mind, he has nothing and no one and Chucky takes full advantage of that by using the same lines that worked on Jake in episodes 1, 2 and part of 3 right before he had Lexy and Devon, "I'm the only friend you got." "I'm here for you." "some people deserve to die." I don't know, I might be looking too much into the show and thinking way too deep and just create false mindsets for the characters haha

Coming into the finale I think that Devon will survive the kidnapping by being saved by Jake, one of the kids will die at the (tiny) hands of a Chucky minion maybe Lexy as a way to protect the family she found in Jake and Devon or Junior when he tries to go after Chucky after finding out he pushed his mother to her death and that we'll have a Chucky doll or two that still has Charles Lee Ray's soul in them as a cliffhanger in case the show gets renewed for a season two

I have no idea why a break up between two 14 year olds hit me as hard as it did maybe because Jake finally had one good thing in his life (the only reason he stayed in Hackensack) and he lost it because of Chucky and also how liking Jake so much helped Devon come out to his mother...goodness I love these kiddies and need to protect Devon AT ALL TIMES!
