light shop is literally "what if the will to live everyone is talking about is the people that love you? what if it's the people who once loved you and the people who are waiting for you and all the ways in which you are loved that give life back to you?" and what it happens when you want that love above all else, would you choose to stay with the one you love, would you be forced to go, would you regret making them leave only to haunt them, because to haunt them is the only way you can love them? and love is waiting an eternity for your daughter because you promised her you'd be back, and it's going against the order of the universe to give her what she needs, not once, but twice. as many times as you can. because, at the same time the show tells you love is sacrifice, it also tells you it isn't. it's a sacrifice, in the sense that they're letting a part of them go so the other can live, but it's also not, because there's nothing they want more than to give life to the people they love. what if love is truly a nurse caring for people because she was once cared for, and she understands what it means to come back, what it means to listen to the ones no one can reach.
I said on twitter as well, but the show is so simple, it could've been so straightforward with its narrative, but it takes time to show each and every character's journey, and how love is quite literally stitching them back to life, because, above all else, kang full cares about its characters in a way that makes us want them all to get their happy endings. and isn't it heartbreaking when the only happiness some of them can achieve is by being haunted?
#the part about kang full caring for the characters sums up what i loved about this and moving so well#light shop

i hate that being emotionally unavailable is so associated with masculinity. which is why i must stay emotionally unavailable. for feminism.
