Now, it wasn’t only the Joker’s fault. We must remember that Jason’s mother Sheila, with whom his dad left him at the park for the moment, actively pushed him into the path of the truck to save herself. Jason miraculously survived this first impact. But the driver proceeded to deliberately mow down his mother as well, and Jason staggered in front of her. She may be dead, but that doesn’t absolve her of pushing him.
don't know if u answered this b4, but who do u think is responsible for jasons death? i say bruce but i was curious what your thoughts are on it
did you forget about the Joker or
#she brought him into the warehouse!#he was waiting outside#he went toward it as she came out to help her#he told her that he knew she was being blackmailed by the joker#and that he was robin#she could have said that the joker was in there but he should wait for batman#she could have used the joker’s trust and dismissal of her to set him up for arrest#she had a gun. she could even have tried to kill him herself#instead she lied to jason that the joker was gone and it was safe#took him inside#and POINTED HER GUN AT HIM#she stood there in the room#smoking a cigarette#while the joker beat her son with a crowbar#her first words afterward were#to the joker!#‘won’t batman be angry that you hurt his friend?’ his son. her son#when jason woke up she was shocked#SHE THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD#she only felt any remorse or care for him when she herself was in the same boat#fuck sheila haywood

Skinner Outta the Loop (One Son)
His face as he starts to drive off. Gold.
#txf#xf fanvid#S6#One Son#have sooooooo many thoughts about this episode#that Mulder walked away from Diana w/out inviting her along to his and Scully's road trip#and Diana sensed this and didn't ask to come along#that Scully still wanted Mulder to go with her to save Cassandra#that Mulder and Scully knitted back together in Kersh's office#they sat close together in Kersh's office while the others were on the other side of the room#she kept Mulder between herself and the others in the room#he messed up but he owned it to her in a stumbling aside#which she caught and acknowledged with hardened eyes... but also started softening#that she stood up for him in front of Kersh; and grouped herself together WITH him#that she held his hand and initiated banter with him in Agua Mala#(and he had to eat more crow in Agua Mala-- Scully Victory 2.0)#anyway: thoughts for the future

sometimes i really don't think we've fully absorbed the realization that humans are animals. we keep trying to find new and spectacular ways to delineate between us and them, even as we try to deconstruct the beliefs of past western science
first we were put above other animals, who in the name of science were declared nothing more than organic automatons devoid of personality. today we know this isn't true, that every animal is the culmination of billions of years of chance and choices, and then a lifetime of experience to fine tune the rest.
so the discussion moved to the question: why are we different? breaking ourselves down to try to separate out the True Human Experience. we have tools--but so do other animals. we build homes and cities--likes termites and coral. we are intelligent--but then, what even is intelligence? we have culture--and yet again, so do other animals.
so we venture in vain to other traits. humans must be uniquely violent, destructive, upheaving the ecosystems of the world in a way no other creature has
but hundreds of millions of years ago, photosynthesis evolved and spurred one of the worst extinctions earth has ever seen. a species can encounter a new habitat and spread like wildfire, sometimes as destructive as one as well.
so surely our systems and our hierarchies set us apart in their depth and complexity. but it's myopic, naive even to think that other creatures don't form their own complexities outside our purview. we see our complexity because we are born and raised in it, but it's hardly what makes us different.
and in this journey to find out what makes us so different, instead we've found out the many ways that we are similar. the way our brains are similar to those of other mammals, how our bodies are all stretched out from the same general base tweaked and formed over an inconceivable number of generations. how the further we trace ourselves back, the more and more animals we share ancestors with.
i don't know where I'm going with all this. i think im frustrated with our medicine, how so much of it is grounded not in biology but in our own culture.
when we see a human not performing well, we call them lazy. when it's an animal, then something must be wrong. we understand the physiology of other animals and treat them within those bounds, yet despite what we know about the human body the way we discuss it seems frustrstingly disconnected.
maybe it's because we can talk to each other and so we assume that we can verbalize the problems we're experiencing, but language is a dismal thing to base healthcare on when most of us don't even use the same words to describe things. it's a subjective, moving target, and it assumes that the patient themself knows what's wrong. we rely too much on the ability of a patient to describe what they are experiencing, and not enough on observations of their behaviour.
my dad's shoulder hurts. he dislocated it a while ago, and it never stopped bothering him. but when i watch him he holds both shoulders forward and tense. slouching has for a long time been deemed lazy and improper, but it doesn't line up--the way my father strives for a healthy, active body but can never seem to make it work. the way he loves to be active, the way he wants to exercise, to walk and run, but it seems no matter how hard he tries he can't.
he told me his shoulder hurts, but the more i watched the more i saw that he doesn't move with the relaxed, easy movements that a man who's as active as he is should be. a human is an animal that loves to walk, and in many ways we've developed anatomy to this end, from the balanced efficiency of our bipedal forms to the way we utilize momentum as the driving force of our movement. we have science that says all this, so why does this not seem to hold true for some people? and why are we looking at them and calling them lazy? why aren't we looking for something gone awry, like the way we would a dog with a limp? we wouldn't blame the dog for not standing up the way a dog should, so why does this not hold true for humans?
#my first doctor never once examined me. maybe she never even looked at me#the first chiropractor i saw told me that i pronate my feet and it affects the rest of me#but maybe he assumed that i was just a silly kid who stood wrong#who simply needed to put a little more effort into standing right#my more recent chiropractor told me that my left side was compensating for my right side. she never helped me figure out why.#even my best physiotherapists only ever deemed to tell me what i was doing wrong.#no one ever took into account the things that i knew and didn't know. no one ever thought to ask why someone would walk this way#if it causes so much pain down the road#my current doctor is patient. he has the courtesy to believe me. he gives me room to do my own research#he puts effort into helping solve the mystery. even if he didn't know the answer he helped me search for the source#he asks questions and helps me dig into the things my own research has found#i think maybe he'd even do more research himself if he had the time. but doctors are short in this city

A woman got angry and started shouting in the clinic lobby today because she saw me, a doctor, leaving after finishing work, and she was the final patient of the day for another doctor who had yet to call her in
Shoutout to the healthcare assistant who asked her what room her ticket number was and then laughed in her face and said, "What's that got to do with you? Doctors leave when they finish seeing patients."
Karen thought nobody could leave until she was seen despite there being five other doctors in the clinic this afternoon apart from hers
#She stood there glowering at the staff doors as I continued walking to drop off my scrubs lol#well she wasn't the worst today#there was a daughter of an elderly patient who started getting hostile in the consultation room at me#because I was explaining an issue...that we were following up her mother for...and other specialties weren't...#then she got angry that different specialties followed up different things and asked me what ONE issue her mother had#and implied that we must be lying because her mother can't have multiple problems#Patients can have multiple concurrent illnesses I tell her#especially at 75.#she shut up after that#medicine#personal#medical happenings#doctor#my post

#im back from a week with my dad at home and at the lake#it was really nice to b home for a while but now im a mess lol#bc it really makes me wanna move back to Appalachia and not do another semester out here#and also this was our 1st trip to the lake without my mom being there. she loved the lake. she grew up on the water and was named after an#island. she died before she could use our new jetski. which my dad bought for her and she would have loved#and i stood in her sandles bc my dad keeps them out by the fireplace and my toes fit almost exactly into the impressions of her feet#and i came come with another bag full of her clothes. and i feel bad for my dad being all alone in that big house#i mean hes got the dogs but theyre 7 and 8 and theyre big boys so they probably dont have all that long left. itll be so sad when they die.#there was a moment where i was talking to the dogs and he said i sounded exactly like my mom. which was kinda intentional#on my part bc i say a lot of things bc she would say them. stolen phrases and intonations. pieces of things ive taken.#its still weird that she's just gone forever. the time in the hospital feels like it was some horrible nightmare.#and now shes never gonna kno where we end up. she's left rooms full of half tumbled rocks and half sorted photos and half organized#classroom supplies. the outlines of a person that will slowly be stitched out of existance as time moves on until theres nothing left and#the memories are gone. its just sad is all. especially bc she didnt deserve it. no one does but expecally not her.#but unfortunately life isnt about getting what you deserve. its chaos and coincidence all the way down.#unrelated

anyways now that 12 hours and passed and I’ve slept, a little bit better of a summary: (also I think I’m gonna start referring to her as Princess when I talk about her on here cause her some of her old url’s have had princess in it and it’s one of the pet names I use most often for her)
I did end up getting to see her !! She drove down like she said she would and met me in a parking lot next to the beach. She drove us out for some food and took my In-N-Out virginity and it was fun! We then went back and ended up hanging out on the beach for the rest of the time until we walked back to her car and delayed saying goodbye until she had to leave 💔. Short and sweet visit! Umm nothing really happened we didn’t get kiss we didn’t go back go back to my hotel room or anything hands never ended up between any legs ! But it was still really fun, she was really adorable IRL and had such a playful personality. We flirted a lot and I definitely teased too much! Ended up with my thumb in her mouth at one point and *might* have gently tugged on her hair at one point when she was bein bratty so there was definitely some fun tension between us 🥰 All in all I’m really happy I saw her ! She says she’d love to see me again so hopefully that’ll happen I just don’t know when
#unimportant thoughts#should I start a tag for her as well?#i could just use her last url or something#I don’t know trying to be more open and less secretive on here!#i had a good time though 🫶🏻#she told me after it was very hard to try and behave and stick to her rules and not go to my hotel room with me#which obviously is v cute and makes me feel better about how much i was teasin and pursuin her#but I’m glad she stood by her convictions and kept her boundaries !#don’t want to make decisions either of us will regret#GODDD did I want her though#one day!#im not sure where we’ll go from here (probably nowhere and just remain these flirty more-than-friends that we already are)#but im happy i got to see her at least and i cant complain if nothing else ever happens 🫶🏻#pinkypprincess

i love how when customers need something they just stand 5 feet away and stare at me and don’t say a word it’s a very good way of communicating what they’re looking for and needing from me
#the boomer today standing at the door of the fitting room and just pointing at it so i went ‘someone’s in there’ and so she knocked on it#and the lady inside went ‘just a minute!’ and the boomer knocked again and stood there impatiently while the lady tried on her stuff#and then the boomer left all the clothes she tried on inside out and just threw them on my table rather than handing them to me or putting#them on the rack or anything like okay? and her and her husband were just staring at me as i was doing stuff so i left the area and they#both scoffed and started talking quietly. i do not care if you are inconvenienced if you can’t show me basic politeness and respect#i don’t care if that lady takes 3000 years because you threw your inside out tried on clothes on my table and refused to communicate like#a normal person#or the lady today asking if we had more of something in the back . . . to be so fr i walked back there and stood in the freezer for a#minute because it was hot in store. and then i came back to her and said yeah we don’t have any#knight rambles

We talk about Flo, Owens, and Murray a lot for clocking in on Nancy and Jonathan being more than friends, but can we take a moment to appreciate the reaction of the motel receptionist.
Like that sip is iconic.
#she sees these two walk in and asks if they want a single room first before the double#she clocked in immediately with just one look#the sip says soooo much about what she would say to these two#Flo stood up so Owens could walk so motel receptionist could run so Murray could Olympic sprit#stranger things#jancy#jonathan byers#nancy wheeler

Tell me how the fuck I managed to dream up seemingly an entire ass EAPS episode in my dream last night 😭
#help I thought it was real so bad#in the dream i was literally sitting on my bed watching the episode#their voices sounded like 100% accurate too 😭#baby’s first eaps dream#I think I mostly remember it#I don’t remember the beginning at all#but I remember at one point it was like#Puppet and Foxy in Foxy’s room and Puppet was like. acting weird#something something she’s getting like#weirdly violent. but not physical just verbally? but she also sounds distressed??#she sounded VERY distressed it was weird#I vividly remember Foxy said absolutely nothing during this entire part and literally in the dream I was like ‘Foxy?? Hello???’#‘Help your Wife man she’s clearly suffering????’#I vividly remember her saying ‘if this sounds wrong it’s because it is’#and then her body got. Spooky. like she looked like a weird Roblox avatar but 100% worse#next thing I know shes chasing Solar for some reason??#but not running just fast walking#and Solar’s like ‘oh god oh no–‘#I remember Puppet was saying stuff during this part but I don’t remember what it was#last thing I remember is suddenly it was from Solar’s perspective and he turned around and stabbed Puppet in the chest#she kinda just stood there after that and stared at him#then I woke up#.#so yeah anyways#dunno what that was about#lmao#eaps

please pick friends u can argue or have misunderstandings with and actually communicate with immediately after like, it’s so fucking important
#like if anything I’ve learned the last couple years is fucking communicate#like actually#my family isn't really big on it and that's probably part of the reason I started writing so young#tried to break that with my niece and was mostly successful we fight but can actually discuss and work things out and talk#I always have encouraged her to express her damn feelings because my stereotypical scorpio sister is in there too so I had to drag it out#and I can be the same it’s hard for me but I try harder now than before#I’m always honest with myself but expression is hard I get it#like we fought the other day and when she came home l expected her to just go in her room#and she just stood there and looked at me like well??? like that one meme haha#and we talked instead#gotta break those generational curses man#but yeah holding people accountable and calling them out is needed sometimes and also apologizing and talking it the fuck out#even if it sucks….do it#set boundaries and u allow what u allow#I’m at the point of my life I just won’t tolerate certain things and that’s valid but also without communication#you’re not moving either way with clarity and clarity is everything#it’s ok to move on from any kind of relationship but were u honest first? was there clarity#and if nothing changes or you can’t find peace you can move on and compartmentalize that loss better because u tried first#I get some reasons don’t warrant any of that but overall#but yeah I do word things like a straight up bitch sometimes and yes u should tell me hahah#can piss eachother off and misunderstand eachother#but there’s paragraphs coming and that’s the important bit#I’m still learning but better than I was

I’m always so fascinated by people’s bad roommate stories. I’m not sure I’ll ever live with someone I haven’t vetted extensively beforehand ever again
#every living situation where i’ve been assigned roommates randomly; i always seem to get one person who is an absolute angel#and 1-2 people who are honestly fucked up#i lived in halls 1 year of undergrad and everyone was kind of equally insane. honestly no one stood out as particularly bad#because everyone was just constantly screaming. i dealt with it by going home most weekends and getting noise cancelling headphones#3rd year of undergrad i lived in a suite which.. honestly was basically an apartment. had a living room/kitchenette; a toilet; a shower room#and 4 bedrooms#one of my roommates i’m still friends with to this day but honestly they were and are kind of a ridiculous person#like they were actively dealing drugs most of the year and their boyfriend was around most of the time and they would bone LOUDLY#and that’s the good roommate. so you can imagine the other two#one of the others.. honestly wasn’t a bad roommate; she was helpful and clean and civil#she was loud as hell though. she used to have attacks of insomnia and decide to rearrange her furniture at 3 in the morning#and we shared a wall. she also had an illegal pet rabbit.#our personalities just didn’t mesh well; like it became clear pretty fast that we were going to spend as little time together as possible#third roommate was loud; rude; annoying and gross. she’d be calling people at 7am just to yell down the phone to them about her problems#i was like who is picking up the phone to this bitch. she also picked up on my homosexual vibes in that way that homophobic straight girls#always seem to have; and was convinced i had a crush on her. and she bought a betta fish (allowed according to dorm rules) and then it died#because she didn’t want to take care of it properly. and she refused to do anything for herself#like she was always breaking shit and leaving it because she didn’t want to email or call maintenance. so then i’d have to do it#because it was always something we specifically shared. like a set of shelves she put a fucking 5lb shampoo bottle on. twice.#in grad school it was almost the same thing. one angel roommate who was kind of messy but otherwise fantastic#she rolled the best joints i have ever seen. and i still miss her cat cali#it was the men that were the problem. one was an international student who left after a month and bothered nobody#like to the point i didn’t notice when he moved out because he was so innocuous#the other two though….. so one of them started hooking up with my favourite roommate and immediately became SUPER annoying#the other one stole shit; left lights on all the time; left fridge and cupboard and freezer doors open; tried to guilt trip me#into giving him my weed; played mariah carey at 2am; never bought a single cleaning product or household item for the collective#unless you told him to…… he was even using my toothpaste at one point. like. sir.#oh and he was always dirtying other people’s dishes and cookware and leaving them in the sink for days. and leaving big chunks of food#in the sink. it was fucking gross#personal

Half-drow durge, Minthara, Halsin, and Astarion walk into a bar the Elfsong tavern and check out the Laff riot. A friendly comedy competition. Fun!
Harvard invites us to join and to show how it's done he get up on stage and looks straight at the half-drow and...
"We used to have a drow comedian. I had to ask her to stop casting Tasha's Hideous Laughter on the audience. Then I asked her how many drow it takes to light a torch, and she said 'None, we have darkvision.' So we killed her."
My dude. My dude.
New quest unlocked: Harvard Willoughby must die.
#baldur's gate 3#baldur's gate 3 spoilers#for context: a century ago Viconia kept having to flee because surfacers kept trying to kill her for stuff she didn't do#because she was a drow#SO#Minthara stood behind durge's shoulder and glared daggers#this is a crowded room#unsure how to solve it#but this man shall die#Astarion please close the door >:I
