she’s doing okay? She’s been having a lot of long practices , and late nights where she stays up painting , hasn’t really spent a lot of time outside besides for training . . . she’s been spending a lot of time with her parents !!

She’s dealing with a lot emotionally right now , someone had exposed her and juraj’s relationship on the internet with pictures of them that they didn’t know where being taken , so she’s getting a lot of hate so she’s been taking a break from social media . Shes been throwing herself in figure skating and art to try to distract herself 🙁

One day I will write an entire piece on why Ranni's questline is a perfect example of a subtle, gothic, and chivalric romance story but one that still manages to be so blatantly in your face about both the Tarnished and Ranni's feelings for one another that you can't miss it. And yet, people still insist that it's platonic because Ranni isn't jumping into the Tarnished's arms and proclaiming her undying affection for them (even though she does say she loves them in her own quiet way with the fucking key but I digress) and it makes me fear that reading literacy is at an all-time low worldwide.

honestly the more i hear about engstars and its TLs the more i absolutely dread the inevitable release of poltergeist and what may ensue from it, bc if if the translators themselves are already invalidating arashis identity then i Really Truly do not want to see how theyll translate natsume and tsumugis microaggressions/transphobia towards her. esp since ive noticed a rise in people being comfortably transphobic towards her, and i REALLY do not wish to see natsume and tsumugi being stupid fucking morons be used as evidence to discredit her

and i think this is all the more reason why its VERY IMPORTANT for engstars to DIRECTLY ACKNOWLEDGE arashi and her gender. bc sometimes characters are STUPID and RUDE and APATHETIC. enstars is a story with NUANCED and FLAWED CHARACTERS, and when a character is being a fucking asshole youre meant to PROVE THEM WRONG. but they dont even acknowledge arashi as a girl themselves. so, if you do use engstars, please keep pressuring them bc omfg this is so bad and i can only see it getting worse

I have seen a LOT of discourse about the finale so here is my final opinion on it: I Liked it I thought it was Very Bad

Me: My guy, she was raised by literal Ozai and was neglected by her mom along with Iroh. Zuko could’ve been the same and so could’ve ANYONE. That was the whole point of that one episode showing Roku’s backstory. She’s also still only 14 in the finale and 16 in the comics.

Antis: Erm- uh...She rejected redemption! Yeah- she’s pure evil for that!

Me: Zuko rejected redemption in season 2. But he still changed.

Hot take, but Carmy has never been a good leader.

Something that really stuck with me in s3 is Terry's approach to gentle, but strong leadership and Carmy's inability to mimic it. When she asks him "Do you need me to finish that plate for you, Chef?" it's meant to motivate him and gauge if he's ready to handle the pressure of a leadership position. Terry's delivery is genuine because her intentions are genuine, and Carmen doesn't want to disappoint her because he respects her and her authority.

When Carmen says the same to Luca his delivery is so aggressive that it sounds like a threat (because it is). He's saying it to assert his authority over him as opposed to simply telling him he needs to pick up the pace. It's very reminiscent of Donna's "Do we have a problem?". Terry even corrects him when he begins to berate Luca with his little "Let's fucking go" moment. It's unnecessarily abrasive and disrupts the focus and peace of the kitchen. Obviously, Carmy never grows out of it. He leads with fear and aggression as his main motivators.

TLDR; Terry's staff respects and listens to her because she leads with integrity and respect and knows how to run a balanced and energetic kitchen. Terry's a boss who inspires her staff to do better through positive reinforcement and mutual respect. Carmy's staff respects and listens to him because they fear him. The vibe he's cultivating is so mfing toxic, that even his ride or die is about to abandon ship (as she should). He is truly a miserable person to work for.

That negative review better be his come to jesus moment bc his behavior this season was so profoundly foul, vile, unbecoming and ghetto (I love to see it 🤭) I almost turned my TV off and took a walk. He needs to be DEALT with.
