Okay, first of all, how are you? Hope youâre doing well! Drink plenty of water, stay hydrated- Second off, your Sunny fics? *chefâs kiss* so mainly, what if anybody made Sunny cry and Miguel had to find out about it? And Sunnyâs trying not to make it seem like a big deal in order to keep Miguel from, you know, absolutely obliterating anyone.
Come on, Baby, Cry.
((Miguel O' Hara X Female! Reader))
A/N: Oh my goodness, thank you so much for the compliment. All my readers? *Extra chef's kisses* I am very hydrated and I got so excited to write this for you and to add some angsty content lol. I hope you enjoy this and let me know if you are disappointed or if you love it.
A/N: I also wanna address two things before I post this too. 1) thank you so much to the anon who asked me to include translations for the Spanish phrases as I was honestly not thinking about doing that. I will do better to include the translations at the end of the fics. 2) There are gonna be some triggering topics explored in this one-shot so if you don't want to hear about near injuries to children or child loss, then I understand if you don't want to read it. Feel free to enjoy my other fanfics and here's the post where you can stay notified on happier Sunny and Miggy fanfics.
Warnings: Grumpy x Sunshine, Barely using (Y/N) ((Sunny is just their nickname, not their actual name.)), Female pronouns, PTSD, Mentions of Child Loss, Endangerment of a Child ((No children were actually hurt, just traumatized)), Trauma, Comforting, Fluff, Angry Miguel, and Google Translate Spanish.
The room fills with squeals and giggles as the chase between the chubby toddler and the jumping spider. Mayday swings her little self around the corridor as the young woman follows behind amused by how agile the little tyke was.Â
âMaybe sheâll make a good sidekick in the future.â The smiling woman muses in her mind before a bloody image flashes in her mind. Shaking her head, she clears the idea out of her mind as Mayday reaches an open window.Â
Her quick scream of horror as she accidentally swings herself out of the window causes the womanâs blood to run cold as she flings herself out of the window after her. âMAYDAY!â
The adrenaline coming from her heightened fear causes the whole thing to appear to be trapped in time as the spider woman falls with the screeching infant falling inches away. Tears clouded her vision as she shoots out her webbing to the pillars around them as the images of flames lick at her eyes.Â
So many flames, and too many buildings at once. Screams and pleas from below as she tries to be there. They didnât matter to her, not at that moment. The only one who mattered was him. Did he scream like that too or did he not even feel it?
Using her webbing, she quickly creates a hammock for Mayday to fall on a few feet from the ground, thankfully trapping the wailing infant so she canât escape. Unfortunately, reality doesnât set in time for the spider as she slams into the titanium flooring below, knocking the air out of her lungs.
Many spidermen gathered as they heard the commotion, but she could only focus her blurry vision above her as she tries to regain her sight. A familiar blur of bright pink swings up and grabs the ball of ginger hair in a muddled mess of cries. He quickly drops down to where the disoriented woman was splayed out below with the whimpering infant in his arms.
âHey, Sunny, you alright?â Peter calls his friend. The damage didnât look bad from the outside, but he was sure she had some nasty concussion with how she was looking at him.
Hobie crouches down beside the crumbled girl and carefully lifts her head up with one hand. âOi, Sunshine, you there?â He mutters as he looks into her eyes. He holds up his hand and makes three fingers pop up. âHow many fingers do you see, love?â
With a cough, the woman croaks out, âThree?â Her eyes begin to focus as her enhanced healing works out the stars in her vision. With the help of Hobie and Peter, she stands up with a whimper at the feeling of her shattered ribs forming back together. âDamn, I forgot that falling several feet actually hurt.â She attempts to joke despite her wheezing breath. The crowd around them laughs as Peter sighs in relief.
âThank god, youâre alright.â Peter mourns as a glint of regret shines in his eyes. âIâm sorry for all this, Sunny. I shouldnât have let her bring the web shooter here. She almost swings herself out of the window all the time and MJ told me that one day I wonât be there to help the next time it happens.â Maydayâs cries end as she sees her favorite play partner up and well as she shows off her gummy smile.
âWell, luckily I was here to save the day.â The disoriented spider muses as she returns the infantâs smile as the men chuckle. The crowd dissipates leaving the injured spider with her two friends.
âIâm still really sorry, P. I got distracted and didnât see that the window was open.â She winces as she blames herself for being so neglectful.
âDonât sweat it, kid. This little rascal will probably send me to an early grave with all the mischief she causes.â Peter jokes as he tickles his now roaming daughter, chuckling at her excited squeals.
âGood thing you donât have a kid, Sunny.â Hobie chuckles. âYou would lose them in a heartbeat.â
The bright atmosphere shatters as the woman abruptly pulls away from her friends. The men look at her confused until they saw the look in her eyes. The normal warm and inviting gaze that they all thrived under was gone, only a dark void was staring back at them. Their light now shining in hurt and sadness as memories cloud her mind. Her lip trembles in a tight line as tears begin to roll down her face.Â
Hobie looks confused at the sudden shift, but Peter realizes something as he looked at his trembling friend. Her eyes burned with tears as they locked with his. She had a haunted look about her. It's a look only parents can ever understand and fear. The look Peter himself almost experienced. âHey,(y-â Before Peter can comfort her, she activates her mask and turns invisible before running off, her muffled sobs leaving them speechless.
Hobie groans as he realizes two things. One, he just made the sweetest person in the world cry. And Two,...
Miguel is gonna kill him.
~~~~~~~
The warm glow of the portal illuminates the surveillance room as the blue spider steps out covered in a musty yellow goo. Lyla smirks as she observes the little chucks slipping onto the ground as Miguel attempts to dust off the slime from his large shoulders.
âWas your mission successful, boss?â The assistant snarks as she sends out a little robot to follow the annoyed Spiderman. The little bug-like contraption eagerly swallows up the disgusting mess Miguel left as he walks up to the platform. âThe anomaly was captured and disposed of. Next time, warn me if William Baker is made of anything except sand.â He grumbles as the sound of the little robot annoyed him even more.Â
âIâll make a note of that.â The AI giggles as she downloads the mission info from Miguelâs gizmo. âAlso âMiss Sunshineâ is here and she doesnât seem too happy.â She says before fading out.
Miguelâs eyes widen upon hearing that his sunny partner was upset. She was never upset. Never. With concern eating away at him, Miguel shoots out a web and swings himself to the platform above. He lands softly as he sees the scene in front of him.
His sunshine sat in his usual seat in front of the monitor. Her costume was dirty with a chest compression brace wrapped around her ribs as her choked sobs wheeze out of her. Her mask was off as her head rested against the ice pack in her hand, her back leaned forward as her attention was focused on the image before her.
He already knew what was on the screen.
He knew that file name by heart just like how he knows Gabriellaâs.
On the screen, the laughing face of a younger Sunny shines as a chubby cheek of a baby boy with dark curls smooshes into hers. The faint sound of a child mimicking the smooch of a kiss can be heard as the overexaggerated gasp of the woman causes the toddler to squeal. âThat was such a sweet kiss, Benny. Can mommy have another one?â The sweet voice soured the air as the sobbing woman mournfully watches her baby boy.
The baby she failed.
Miguel approaches behind her and slowly takes the mouse from her weak grasp. The broken woman sighs as she realizes her miggy is here with her now, but doesnât turn to look at him as he pauses the video. Her babyâs matching eyes stare right back at her before Miguel turns the chair around to face him as his mask disintegrates. His eyes glow red under the light of the monitors as he searched her sore eyes. Her face was red with a noticeable bruise along the left side of her face. Tears and snot crusted over her soft features as her lips remained turned into a trembling whisper. Her pupil shone in self-loathing and searching for his comfort. He could tell that this episode isnât just one of her low days, something happened.
Something happened and he wasnât here to stop it.
Miguel closes his eyes as his hand caresses her cheek. The warmth of her flushing face nuzzling into his palm allowed him to ground his rage as he focuses his gaze back onto his beloved.
âMi luz, ÂżquĂ© pasĂł?â He seethes as he looks deep into her eyes.Â
She shakes her head as she tries to avoid looking into his concerned ruby gaze. The glass bridge was already cracked as she internally debated with sobbing everything that happened into his warm embrace or to protect her friend from the wrath she knows Miguel will unleash if he knows what was said. The warmth of his other palm cupping her cheek, guiding her to a wandering eye to look at his frowning face nearly broke her.
âIt was nothing, MiggyâŠâShe whispered as her voice trembled again. She tried to control her eyes from unknowingly confessing while she tries to bite the wobbling pout. âIt was an accidentâŠâ
âWhat.â Miguel runs his thumb under her abused mouth as a piece of her disheveled hair was swept back. âHappened?â His demand is punctuated as he holds her in his stare. His eyes burned with barely contained fury and protectiveness as he studied her reactions. âOdio verte como la suya, mi amor.â He admits with a sigh.
Leaning forward, Miguel places a firm kiss on her forehead as his belovedâs breath shudders at his touch. The gentle heat under his touch left her trembling as the glass began to crack. âLet me ease your painâŠâ He whispers as he trails his kisses down to her eyelids. âThese eyes are meant to be filled with happiness, not sorrowâŠâ The cracks deepen as he gently kisses her nose. âI canât undo what has happenedâŠâ The corners of her lips were caressed by his as his nose brushed against her cheeks causing her eyes to meet his mirrors. Her sorrow and helplessness are reflected in his ruby eyes as he kneels on the ground between her legs. A silent plea breaks the resolve she built as he mutters into her ear.
âPlease, mi sol, at least let me feel your pain tooâŠIt's me and you against the universe rememberâŠPor favor no me dejes solo ... No quiero perderte de nuevo.â He begs as the tension shatters.Â
With her arms snaking around his shoulders, the little spider confesses all that happened hours prior into his ear. Each detail, each scar, burned into his mind as she clung to his neck and hair. His inferno of rage almost imploded until he looked back into her eyes again. The relief of letting go of all of her troubles made her face look years younger as she looked at him with her big vulnerable eyes.Â
Hobie will have to wait. His love needed him now.
In a silent nod, Miguel wrapped her weak legs around his waist before he stood up. Feeling her snuggling into his throat, he carries her toward her room down the hallway while the annoying robot follows them to clean up the mess. As he enters the room, he releases some of his anger by smashing the bug with his foot.Â
âWhat was that, Miggy?â She croaks as she weakly tries to look over his shoulder.
âJust a bug,â He sighs as he approaches her dresser and grabs his spare set of clothes from his drawer. âYou want your clothes or mine?â
âYoursâŠâ She shyly admits as he feels the heat returning to the cheek on his neck.Â
âMuy bien, niña bonita. Lo que quieras.â He whispers as he grabs another set of clothes that he knows will swallow her. With that, he carries them into her personal bathroom and spent the night slowly bringing back his sunshine.
~~~~~~~~
A deep scream rings out through the Lobby as they see a flash of blue fury tackles the residential metal head into the ground. Peter hurries to save his colleague along with a few other Spidermen as Mayday laughs at the anarchist getting thrashed by the clawed man spewing Hispanic curses at him.

ofc I am gonna ask u the character hc prompts and ofc Iâm gonna ask abt Butch and Luna bc I want to chew on them⊠2 (during and post relationship pls), 4, 16, 20, 21
That is enough for one ask. But I will be back â„ïž
kicking my feet and giggling. okaay soo theres this doomedship....
2. What kind of dynamic do they have with each other? -> post relationship EEEEK ok... how they actually got together is a story for another day, but basically both of them fell (very confused w their emotions & surprised they did to begin with) but she fell soooo much harder. their dynamic was odd at first, not knowing what to really make of it (and because they were always at each others throats, getting into physical fights and all that before they got together), but it slowly built up to be full of playful banters and teasing, which was waaaayyy different from the obvious general teasing/bullying Butch did.
Luna let loose a bit and managed to get more comfortable with him, so that's when she fell the most. she would always shower him with love and affection, whenever he would accept it. i like to think she was the one to basically show him affection isn't something to be scared of and was patient with him since ik he might not be huge on it (or used to it), considering his upbringing. Butch would still struggle to keep up with the affection, but he tries to show it with actions. maybe getting her an issue of Grognak she might not have yet, or trying to make her smile in his own ways, teaching her how she could stand up for herself more, or literally as simple as just listening to her. their relationship was always kept a huge secret for a while, so its not like they could flaunt it, but... their dynamic was def one of trying to learn to love and be loved despite their history. 4. Do they have the same love language as each other? ohhh definitely not LOL .... ill throw in during & post relationship cus i think its important to mention, but Luna's love language used to be physical touch mainly (both giving and receiving). now, post relationship, she doesn't like any sort of physical contact or anything of the sort. she doesn't really let anyone get too close which means shes not too keen on being touched, hugged, held etc. but that doesn't mean she minds GIVING physical affection. though, as for nowâ acts of service is huge. in both aspects, giving and receiving!
as for Butch... hm. during, i'd say he likes quality time. considering they didn't publicly display their relationship and often times it was all in secret, he just enjoys spending time with his partner??
post relationship.... maybe the same thing as Luna post relationship, cus i know damn well he loves touching and being all over someone if he's into them but maybe not so much if it's all pda and shit. like he could give it, but maybe receiving it was probably hard for him at first & maybe it still is. (thats why i mention the whole affection thing w them for number 2!). i think in all, he's more big on quality time, not a physical touch type of guy.
i do however, see him being a huge gift giver but for the most simplest things, and he'd definitely brush it off or be dismissive abt it too. like, maybe randomly he finds something that reminds him of her and goes "aint this something you like? yeah, thought so. keep it." or "look, here's another one for your weirdo collection." (teddy bears....)
16. Who loses their temper fastest?
Luna, BY FAR. at least when it comes to him. Butch would honestly bother her on purpose just to see her get mad. he finds it kind of amusing, unless it gets too annoying for his liking. Luna is often times pretty patient but not with him đ
20. What's the worst thing about them teaming up?
ahhh. their unresolved issues. there are a lot of times when these resurface and it causes them to point fingers. sometimes they say things they don't mean in the heat of the moment, and grudges can lead to rlly bad outcomes thats aaaalll im gonna say.
21. What's the best thing about them teaming up?
their familiarity, and how they keep each other grounded. like, regardless of their issues from their past relationship, they know each other. from how to piss each other off, to where they like to be touched, how they react to certain things, their interests, their dynamic, their quirks, the way they fidget when nervous, body language, etc etc etc. but mainly, they know each otherâs strengths and weaknesses.
Luna's not afraid to call him out when heâs being reckless or full of himself, even if he rolls his eyes and calls it nagging at first. but her words stick with him, whether he admits it or not, and heâll start to think about what she said when heâs alone. as for Butch, he does the same in his own way, throwing her sharp reality checks when sheâs caught in her head or being too hard on herself. heâll snap her out of it. not by coddling, but by reminding her of what sheâs capable of, sometimes with a blunt âget it togetherâ or a sarcastic âyou done yet?â that somehow works.
regardless, even with all the baggage between them, they always seem to have each otherâs backs, even if itâs unspoken. their history gives them a lot of reasons to clash, but itâs also what allows them to pull each other back up when itâs needed. there are a lot of unspoken feelings regarding each other (mostly because both are too stubborn to admit anything), but they care about each other in ways neither of them can really explain. itâs messy, itâs complicated, but itâs there. just donât expect either of them to actually realize it anytime soon.
#moonscale#theyre so doomed i love them#do u see how i wrote more abt the good things than the bad#i also cried thinking abt them#lw: luna hayden#butch deloria#lone wanderer#fallout 3#fo3#fallout#answered#ive had to rewrite this 3 times bc each draft i made kept getting erased.......#but i hope it makes sense....#i wrote more than i thought i would LOL#just for fun#ask game#ask memes#ask meme#asks

Following up on the danganronpa 2 cast and v3 leys go with the Danganropa trigger happy havoc cast with reader that has a crush on them
Sayaka kinda catches on but not completely, she gets the feeling you may like her but she second guesses herself and thinks maybe youâre just really nice and is a bit unsure. She thinks youâre really sweet though and tries to send you hints she likes you too.
Leon isnât a complete dumbass so he probably catches on to the fact you like him. Heâs actually just super excited about it so he gets a bit too eager and asks you out rather quickly.
Chihiro doesnât love themselves enough to catch onto the fact you obviously like them, but they canât help but always get flustered by your compliments. They feel happy you seem to really enjoy their company, at the very least. But youâll have to tell them on your own, because they wonât catch on.
Mondo gets so goddamn flustered around you, itâs quite amusing! However, heâs a clueless idiot. Youâll find that he doesnât even think you like him romantically, instead he thinks you really admire him. Perhaps he just thinks youâre too good for a brute like him.
Ishimaru is as clueless as they come, easily the worst on this list for cluelessness but is that honestly a surprise⊠he gets very red in the face by your compliments and tells you heâs undeserving of your kindness, but he truly just thinks youâre being friendly.
Hifumi gets very happy about this, when he realizes youâre not messing with him like Celeste does. Youâll find that he will return the favor, and heâs a lot more confident in himself and probably asks you out.
Celeste is certainly not an idiot, so she catches on. She likes it this way, and waits for you to confess your feelings on your own accord. She likes not being more vulnerable than you, after all.
Mukuro gets so flustered! Sheâs happy, though she doesnât get why youâre so nice. Junko has to tell her you probably like her, but mukuro doubts her sister a little. She needs to seriously think about it.
Junko catches on, surprise surprise. Sheâd rather you tell her how you feel, because in all honesty she would love to see how youâd ask her out. Hopefully you keep surprising her and do it in a unpredictable manner.
Hina doesnât exactly catch onto you liking her but definitely takes note to how kind and friendly you are to her in comparison to others, especially the other girls. It makes her feel like sheâs special to you, and the two of you are just real close.
Kyoko doesnât completely catch on, at least at first. Mainly due to her inexperience with romance. She will eventually though, sheâs the ultimate detective for a reason after all. It just takes more time than it normally does for her to figure things out.
Toko is convinced youâre just teasing her or making fun of her if Iâm being honest lol. Even if you tell her youâre being genuine the doubt is there and she doesnât bother hiding it either. It messes with her head, cause she really likes you.
Byakuya normally wouldnât care for your nice personality and obvious feelings, but since he likes you two he takes a bit more of pride whenever you compliment him. Youâll notice he feels a lot better that day and seems to be in a particularly good mood whenever youâre being your sweet self. He tries not to show it much but heâs obvious.
Makoto always gets flustered and red in the face by your compliments. He gets the feeling you may like him, but heâs not completely sure. A suspicion, but he doesnât have enough confidence in himself to be sure.

On your blurb list can I have 13 and 19 with Rafe please? Lol thank you :)
A perfectly chaotic match
Blurb request | 13. I think itâs funny to see you all red and embarrassed + 19. Donât act like I didnât hear you
Rafe Cameron x female!Reader
Thank you so much for requesting! Hope you like it and have as much fun reading it as I had writing it đ
âLook who just arrived!â Kelceâs teasing voice made Rafe turn his attention to the doors leading to the large porch where everyone was already hanging out and making conversation. Topper had his motherâs arm crossed with his, a forced smile on both faces. But who really caught the boys attention, especially Rafeâs, was the girl walking right behind them. His best friendâs older sister, who didnât bother to force a smile like her family, everyone was already aware of her distaste for the annual Midsummer's party so why pretend? Rafe smiled, amused by the girlâs bored expression and excited to tease her about it.
They had a special relationship. She was the same age as him, and being Topperâs sister made it natural for them to hang out, but, with the impulsive and sometimes unreasonable ways of Rafe Cameron and the bold attitude and painfully honest words of (Y/N) Thornton, it was also natural for them to bicker constantly, leaving everyone around them with a headache from having to put up with them. She couldnât stand him and he loved that. He couldnât keep up with her comebacks and she flaunted it. A perfectly chaotic match, as Kelce put it.
As soon as Topper spotted his two best friends in the crowd, he turned to his mother to let her know where he would be.
âWhat about you?â the woman turned to her daughter, âAre you going with your brother or are you going to stay alone in a corner with that face and embarrass me all night?â
The girl didnât even bother answering, the roll of her eyes being enough as she followed her brother towards his friends. Her hard expression softened when her eyes landed on the tall blue eyed boy, who winked at her.
âWhy good evening fellas!â Kelce greeted them playfully. The boys did their handshakes while the Thornton girl stood back, lowkey admiring Rafe in his suit.
Kelce started a conversation with Topper and the Cameron boy took advantage of their distraction to properly greet (Y/N).
âGood evening, brat.â
âGood evening, douche.â she smiled cheekily.
âYou cleaned up nice.â
She rolled her eyes at the small talk but played along.
âYou too, Cameron, I couldâve mistaken you for a decent man in this suit.â
He scoffed.
âI see you didnât leave your humor at home.â he said, winking at her, before joining his friends on whatever topic their friends were talking about.
Her plan was to hang out with her brother and his friends for a bit, mainly Rafe, but he seemed busy discussing something about golf and she really wasnât in the mood for it, so, as soon as she spotted Sarah, she excused herself and went to meet her friend.
The girls greeted each other with an excited hug. They spent some time catching up and just chatting, eventually getting joined by Wheezie after she heard them playfully judge the other guests. That girl was always down for some gossiping.
âIâm gonna go get a drink, you girls want anything?â (Y/N) asked them after a good half an hour of pointless but fun conversation with the Cameron girls.
âIâm good, thanks (Y/N)!â Sarah answered.
âI could use a drink.â
âWheezie, youâre too young to drink!â Sarah complained.
âSays who?â
âUh, everybody?â (Y/N) said, chuckling at her adult-wannabe attitude, âIâll be right back.â
She headed inside to grab herself a drink, not bothering to look for the waiters distributing them. As she made her way there, she was able to make out Rafeâs broad figure in his suit near the bar area, along with her brother, Kelce and a girl she had never seen before, but that she quickly despised just by the way she was undressing Rafe with her eyes. She felt stupid for being jealous, but it wasnât something she could control anyway.
âOk but have you seen (Y/N)? She looks really hot tonight.â
(Y/N) almost stopped in her tracks at his words but Topperâs protest quickly brought her back to reality, barely giving her time to question the potential of that sentence. It wasnât anything sheâd never heard before, even from Rafe, but it was always in a teasing or playful way, she didnât expect him to comment on it behind her back, especially with her brother. Which was weird, but she chose to ignore that detail.
âDude, thatâs my sister!â
âSorry, Topps, but I have to agree.â Kelce added, making the girl next to him roll her eyes. Someone didnât like not being the center of attention, apparently.
âHello, boys.â (Y/N) greeted as she stood next to them, starting to fill a glass with the first bottle she could reach, not even bothering to see what it was. Rafe turned his attention to her, surprised but pleased with her presence beside him. She looked at him and winked, making him smirk, knowing damn well the game she was playing. And he loved it. (Y/N) heard the other girl scoff, as did Rafe, who was aware of her flirty gestures but he wasnât interested. He already had someone else in mind. He circled an arm around said someone elseâs waist and introduced (Y/N) to the girl, who forced a smile so fake it made her cringe.
âYou look really hot tonight too.â the Thornton girl whispered to Rafe when she noticed the other two boys go back to their conversation. He looked at her a bit confused, âOh donât act like I didnât hear you.â
And, taking a sip of her drink, she winked at him again and left a flustered and exclusively embarrassed Rafe Cameron behind.
An hour into the party, (Y/N) found herself hoping her mother wouldnât spot her doing exactly what she told her not to: being alone in a corner with an annoyed and bored face. And potentially embarrassing her, the people walking past her with questioning and judgemental stares confirming very much so. They were probably on their way to let her mother know that her daughter dared to not enjoy Midsummers. Outrageous.
Her boredom soon vanished when Rafe approached her, this time alone. He had his hands inside the pockets of his dress pants, which somehow made him look hotter and (Y/N) didnât bother to avoid her staring.
âWhat do I give the honor of the presence of the Kook prince?â she asked after taking another sip of her drink. She felt like she would need to wet her lips.
âI was looking for you.â
âWhy?â
âI donât know. I was bored, you look bored. Thought we might as well be bored together.â
âI could never be bored around you, Cameron.â
Rafe couldnât understand why his cheeks kept on heating up at her words that night. He knew she was doing it on purpose and he hated that she was succeeding.
âYouâre cute when you blush.â she commented, smiling proudly.
âIâm not blushing.â
âYeah you are.â
âIs this funny to you?â he stood right in front of her, attempting to intimidate her and gain a bit of control of the situation. She had too much of it for his liking.
âYeah, I think itâs funny to see you all red and embarrassed.â she smirked, âSee, never bored around you.â
âAlright, I can be funny, too.â he took another step forward, his face now close enough to hers to feel her breath hit his skin, âIâm kinda jealous of that glass when it touches your lips.â
âAre you always that corny when you flirt with a girl?â
âNah, only with you.â
She really wanted to touch her lips to something else besides her glass though. Perhaps a certain Cameronâs mouth.
âSo,â she started playing with his bowtie, pretending to fix it but slowly pulling him closer, âitâs really hot out here and I heard thereâs air conditioning somewhere inside. Somewhere quiet.â
He smirked, finally enjoying where the conversation was heading.
âThen maybe we should go there. Donât want you to get all sweaty.â he leaned forward, brushing his lips against her ear as he spoke, âNot yet, I mean.â
She tightened her grip on his bowtie and when she went to put some space between their faces she made sure to brush her own lips near his. He wouldâve grabbed her right there and kiss the hell out of her if there weren't people around. Rafe Cameron had officially lost his mind over her and wouldnât waste anymore time.
âLetâs go inside then.â
He intertwined their hands and led her to a storage room. He made sure to lock the door and then, with a gentle push against the wall, finally kissed the hell out of her, the lack of air conditioning and the urgent touches, kisses and bites that followed making them get, in fact, a bit sweaty.

there's a heaven above you (don't you cry) - Part 3
Rating: M Pairing: Lost Boys/OC Fandom: The Lost Boys Warnings: swearing, vampires, violence, blood, sex, power plays, murder and attempted murder, probably more to be added Summary: The thing no one ever tells you about time travel is that you donât have any control over where you end up or when you leave. It just happens. It also hurts like a bitch. Notes: I don't know what I was thinking but there is way more sex so far than I planned lol. Or at least there is before chapter 10. I love writing this OC though. This will be a poly pairing, so if youâre not into that, donât read. previous/masterlist also on ao3
Part Three: Cherry Bomb
She dreamt of blond hair and laughter that echoed around her. She snapped back at it but all it did was make the voices laugh more. Endlessly amused at her frustration. Needless to say, she did not sleep well. Again.
Darcy opened the store in a worse mood than yesterday. This whole lack of sleep thing was not working for her. Thank god she picked up a pack of smokes. She couldnât bring herself to smoke inside the store though, even if it was legal. God, sheâd never get the smell out of her clothes if she did that.
She fell into the motions of opening the store, which included pulling up the blinds and checking the donation bin which looked like it had been broken into. Theyâd need to get the lock fixed. It wasnât uncommon that people decided to steal what they could. This place was filled with lost souls looking for somewhere to belong, but that didnât mean Darcy had to accept it. It hadnât even been a week since the last break-in. They were just lucky she hadnât caught them in the act yet.
For all that she had lost, Darcy liked working in the thrift store. It was an easy job and Sampson paid decently for the time. She wasnât entirely sure how he made his money since some days passed and no one bought anything, but she wouldnât complain. If it was a front, she couldnât be held as an accessory if she knew nothing. The only odd thing was how no one had been working here already. Though, with the rate that missing posters got plastered to the bulletin boards around the town, maybe she just had good timing.
---
Clark showed up again when the sun was high in the sky and she had already given directions to two different sets of tourists. She didnât know why they needed them. The town wasnât that big and the Boardwalk was pretty straightforward. She figured out where everything was within a day.
âYou look like shit,â he said.
âLanguage,â she admonished without any real bite. She leaned forward to look at him. Her hair was held back in a couple of simple victory rolls but mainly left loose. The last thing she needed to do was give herself a headache on top of the lack of sleep. She needed coffee. âIf I give you five bucks, can you grab me a coffee and bring it? You can keep the change.â
He looked at her. âHow do you know I wonât just take the money and run?â
âAnd miss the pleasure of my company?â she asked. âYou do that and you wonât be allowed back in.â
He stuck out his tongue at her. âAlright, alright. Iâll do it.â
âGood. Add a bit of sugar in it, but thatâs it. I donât like milk.â She opened the cash register and pulled out a five-dollar bill. Sheâd replace it with her own once she felt more human again and actually had the desire to move.
Clark took it and disappeared. Thankfully, he was only gone for about ten minutes before he returned with the nectar of the gods. She winced slightly as it burnt at the first sip.
âSo what happened to you?â Clark asked. He was browsing through one of the racks as he left her to wake up.
âWhat do you mean?â
âYou look like you got totally wasted.â
âI feel like I did,â she said, âonly without actually doing so. I didnât sleep well.â She paused for a moment. Clark had been here longer than she has from what she could tell. âYou know the gangs here, right?â
He turned to her and scrunched up his face. âThe Surf Nazis?â
âUgh, no, the other assholes. The bikers.â
It took him a moment before he answered. âThe Lost Boys?â
She snorted. She was right that it had something to do with Peter Pan. So which one wore the tights? The image of Paul in his tight pants the other night sprung to mind and she tried not to laugh. That answered that question.
âWhy you asking?â
âI met them with Frankie the other day.â She took another sip of her coffee. God, she wanted a cigarette. She held back on the desire though.
âYeah? You like them?â
âDonât know them. Just wanted to know what you think.â
âTheyâre assholes,â he said instantly. It made her grin. âThey ride into the crowds all the time. I donât go near them, but girls love them. They always find their way to some party.â
âGood to know,â she said. That didnât really explain anything about them. Perhaps that was one of the things about gangs. The only ones who really know about them were those in the gang itself. Hopefully, theyâd lose interest soon so she could go back to minding her own business.
Clark left without another word. She turned back to her coffee and tried to wake up. For the first time since Sampson told her, she was grateful he was hiring someone. Then at least she could sleep in.
---
Night was never a quiet thing in Santa Carla.
The Boardwalk filled with people, like ants on food left on a sidewalk, and the noise and lights made it seem far brighter than it had any right to be. At least in Darcyâs opinion. She headed in the opposite direction.
It wasnât far to the motel where she rented a room. It would have been ideal to have an apartment, but there were few places that rented a place out. She didnât want to live with roommates that were strangers.
There had never been any interruptions when she walked back from work. Aside from a few catcalls when she was still close to the boardwalk, she was usually left in peace. Apparently, that was no longer a thing.
She was already getting tired of the sound of motorcycles. That didnât stop the one that had reared up from the side street she was about to cross. He stopped by her, not quite blocking her way but still making himself known. She pulled out a cigarette. It wasnât the blond but she had a feeling she was going to need it.
He held a lighter out before she could grab hers. Her eyes narrowed at him but she leaned forward and lit it.
âAre you stalking me?â she asked as she exhaled.
âDo you want to be stalked?â he asked, grinning widely. It was the other mullet. The one with the curls. He had an easy smile, looking far more innocent than she suspected he was.
âNo.â
âWhy you out here? Donât like the boardwalk?â
âNo,â she said again. âNot really.â
He bit the nail of his thumb as he continued to grin at her. âSo where you going?â
She took another drag of her cigarette and blew it out slowly. âHome. Iâm going to bed.â
âWant company?â
She rolled her eyes. âIâm good, thanks.â She moved forward and much like the last interaction she had with one of them, he followed. âDonât you have somewhere else to be?â
âTrust me, babe, no place Iâd rather be. Can I give you a ride?â
She paused, contemplating it for a moment. She didnât have an aversion to motorcycles but she didnât know him. The reminder of the missing posters lingered in her mind. âIâll walk.â
âAw come on, Iâll be good!â
âSomehow I doubt that,â she drawled. She kept walking. There was another roar of motorcycles and she glanced at the one next to her. âYou guys really travel in packs, huh?â
âYouâll like it,â he said, looking far too amused at the suggestion.
She barely got another two steps before the other motorcycles were circling her. Marko joined them seamlessly. She stood there, smoking and waiting until they finally stopped. A couple of them veered close but they finally eventually stopped when she dropped the butt of her cigarette, stomped it out and asked, âare you done?â
âWhere you going, Darcy?â the blond mullet from the other day asked.
âHome. Get out of the way.â
âCome on, chica,â Paul called out, leaning forward over the bars of his bike. âLetâs party.â
She ran her tongue over her teeth before she looked at him. âWhereâs Frankie?â she asked. âLast party you invited me to was with her and I haven't seen her since.â The men all started to laugh and she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up again.
âWho?â Paul asked, blinking at her. He still had a smile on his lips and she half wished she was closer just to wipe it off of his face.
âYou know who,â she snarled. They all laughed again and her eyes narrowed. âAlright, Iâm done.â She moved, going to push her way past them or kick over their bikes if she had to. She was over this already.
âDarcy, wait,â the curly one said.
âYeah, babe, weâre just playing,â Paul called out.
âIâm not. I donât know who the fuck you are and Iâm not interested.â
âDwayne,â the dark-haired one finally spoke.
âIâm Marko,â the curly mullet spoke up.
âYou know me,â Paul said with a wink. âAnd thatâs David.â He motioned to the bleached-blond mullet who was staring at her. They were all staring at her, really.
âPleasure,â she drawled. âNow get out of the way.â
âDarcy,â the one named David called out. âJoin us.â
âNo,â she looked at him. âIâm going home and going to bed.â
âAww,â she heard someone call out. Her version swayed slightly. Join us, Darcy. Come on, Darcy. She could go out with them. Not like she had many friends or the store was that busy. She could...she dug her fingers into the pressure point between her thumb and her index finger, trying to use the pain to focus. It broke through the pressure building around her and she glanced down, reaching for another cigarette.
She lit it herself, ignoring the offer of a lighter from Paul and Marko. She inhaled slowly and held it for a second before exhaling. âIâm going home. Get out of my way.â
There must have been something in her tone because two of them finally moved back slightly, granting her an exit. She walked forward only to realize they were following. She turned and glared at them.
âI didnât ask for an escort!â
âWhat type of men would we be to let a woman walk home alone in the dark?â David asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
âYeah!â Marko called out. âNever know whatâs out there.â That made them all laugh.
God fucking damn it. She turned and walked. They followed behind and she ignored the fact that she could feel their stares on her. She just wanted to get to bed.
They reached the motel.
âShit, babe, you live here?â she heard Paul ask. âJust come home with us.â
âThere,â she said, ignoring the blond. âYou walked me home. Go away.â
They all grinned at her. âGoodnight, Darcy,â David said.
âYeah, night babe! Dream about me!â
âDream about us!â Marko called out, fixing Paulâs comment. Dwayne just watched her. She ignored them all and went to her room.
It was only after she cleaned herself up and was finally drifting off to sleep when she realized they never answered her question about Frankie.

I'm assuming you've done a dungeon or so
In my main campaign I'm like a total of level 8?
The only really recent thing we've done is fight a dinosaur in one adventure and medusa and her brother with like 16 orcs in another
Also I'm free to listen to rambling I would love to hear what crazy shit you've done in your guys' campaign
I have done one practice fight where the dm put us up against a skeleton minotaur and every single attack we used ended up going through the minotaur's ribs. And then we created our current characters and did a dungeon where shenanigans and character bonding occurred (there's plans to do more at some point but every time we've all been together there's always been somebody who was too tired to play).
I genuinely have no clue how the level system works so I have no point of reference for that lol
Holy shit medusa has a brother??? Is that like an actual mythology thing or just a D&D thing?
Probably the best stories to tell about our campaign is how the characters have interacted with eachother. I'll mainly talk about my own character and the DM's character because I doubt he would mind.
My character is a halfling rogue and she's a little chaos gremlin and I love her. Pretty much everything about her is pieced together from my favorite characters, everything from her name to her moveset. She does stuff with illusions and she's extremely cocky and she's probably more of a liability to the team than an asset. She's small enough that she can literally fit inside a minor illusion of a box or a rock. She has a bucket list with everything from "meet a fae" to "aquire a poncho for every occasion" on it. Also she always wears over-the-top stuff like extremely bright outfits and excessive jewelry (one time she picked up an earring from off the ground and started wearing it, and was warned that she'd probably get an ear infection from it, but she didn't listen even when her ear started to hurt, and then it turned out that the earring was a mimic and now she secretly keeps it in a tiny box and feeds it scraps, but her ear is torn now). She's the type of person to use Disguise Self for absolutely no productive reason, and then have to explain herself to the rest of the group. I love her.
The DM's character is a dragonborn paladin(?) who is usually the level-headed one of the group, unless he starts talking about his god, and then he just won't shut up about how his god is the best god. The DM really likes to twist the rules in his character's favor, and we just kinda go with it because it's fun and means we can focus on having a good time. Also he has a pet dinosaur for some reason but literally the only thing it's done so far was carry me on it's back so we could all escape a dungeon.
I don't really remember the dungeon that well, but I remember that it started with my character trying to pickpocket the other two in a bar, we all got asked to rescue an npc's thing from some orcs or goblins or something, my character almost died to a rug (twice), we carefully navigated around some gelatinous slimes (not before I attempted to take some shiny things that were in a slime), we found out that the orcs/goblins/something had been killed by some tunneling creatures, we kidnapped one of the baby tunneling creatures because everyone thought it was cute, and then we all had to escape from the rest of them. I'm pretty sure when we returned to the npc, we were like "here's your mystical artifact back" and he went "what the heck is that" and we were like "your thingy" and the npc just looked at it and went "no, no, i lost my brush, not that" and we were all confused, and the npc had to explain the importance of this brush. And I don't remember if any of us had grabbed it earlier, but we sure as hell didn't go back for it. Literally the only reason anyone on our team does anything is for amusement, for money, or because "it's what my wonderful, glorious god would want."

A/N: Well, this chapter is long. And mainly pertains around the theme of 'doubt'. A lot more of Sylvie stuff and Loki just having heart eyes the whole time. Thank you for showing so much love. gif from this gifset by @kamalaskhans WARNINGS: Swearing. Apocalypse. Injuries. Blood. support my writing through ko-fiđ MASTERPOST ; MASTERLIST
You were once a fighter.
Hunter E-87 was the name you once knew, hollered through different fields and dimensions in time and space. You fought for what you thought was right, pledging allegiance to a cosmic establishment that held all power to a single timeline and never questioned the works of the Time-Keepers. The Sacred Timeline is indeed sacrosanct, too important, too valuable to interfere. You fight in the name of the single thread of time, the bark of a tree, forbidden to bare branches of a potential multiverse. You fight because the thought of alternate timelines used to scare you. Yet, if alternate universes were meant to be, the lives you took and destroyed are now in the grasp of your bloody hands. You hold the responsibility of the death of the innocent, taking part in mass genocide.
But promises must be kept.
The thought constantly haunts you in your sleep. You have dreams of death, war, destruction, and famine from across the universe. People seem to glide like specters in the world built by your imagination and mind. You have seen a lot, more than any being in the universe should, but no one talks about the aftermath of witnessing the tragedy of the universe as time goes on and on. No one talks about what it does to the mind. Music from cassettes and the wonder of human space exploration were distractions to cope with the grinding hole in you and the fact you might be turning truly crazy.
Sometimes, you would like to be humanâFewer problems and less time to live.
You blame the sickening and bizarre vivid images that come and go whenever you close your eyes as a symptom of being a hunter. The others are stronger than you. Well, they act like they are. Becoming an analyst made you sleep better but there was always doubt. Sakaar made you doubt.
Doubt makes the strong weak. Doubt makes you weak.
âYou startinâ to have doubts?â
Green eyes. They watch you with curiosity with a hint of amusement. You hear yourself hum. âWould it be bad if I said yes?â
He laughs. Itâs mighty. âYeah. Definitely bad.â
A beat of silence. You feel your eyes start to sting. âI couldnât even tell my mom.â A laugh escapes your lips despite the hurt you feel in your chest. âDid you tell anyone? Your wife?â
You see him now, blonde hair slicked back and deep-set eyes. He shakes his head. âNope. Not even my wife.â
âSheâll be proud, you know.â
âI know...So will your mom. Jesus, youâre gonna be the first woman onââ
Wake up.
ââIs she dead?â
The voice is familiar. It pulls you back to reality but right now, your eyes are too heavy. Doubt is the first emotion that waves through your brain before the process of pain can even occurâuncertain if you are dead or alive.
You canât feel your limbs, they are too weak.
Doubt makes the strong weak. Doubt makes you weak.
Maybe, you are dead.
âThis is your fault! Youâre the one who swung that sword of yours to her head! Youâre carelessââ
Sword...Sword...Careless? You remember a train, a fight.
âOh, Iâm the one whoâs careless? Youâre the one whoâs drunk!â
Drunk...Who was drunk?
Then, your voice echoes in your head, images of a certain brunette with a deep frown. He called you a mewling quim. You quoted HĂĄvamĂĄl. You then left him and wandered through the other cabins of the train. He blew his cover. He got you into a fight.
Loki. Loki Laufeyson.
Son of a bitch.
Your eyes are wide open now. All you see are the faces of Loki and Sylvie, looming over you. Just two floating heads. Then, the pain arrives, coursing through the entire back of your head. You wince in immediate reaction and the floating heads turn to you in an instant.
What a way to wake up from a concussion.
You remember everything now, but you certainly donât recall being on the outside of the train. Must have gotten thrown out. The thought angers you, irritation practically boiling to the brim. Yet, itâs your fault. You hadn't thought to babysit the very person you wish were dead. As your palm grips onto the dirt beneath, muscling all strength left to lift yourself. Your head feels light and heavy all at once. Not good.
âAre you alright?â is the question that flies from Lokiâs lips, tinged with an emotion you never knew he had for another but himselfâworry. Whether selfless or selfish, you wish to ignore the complexity of Lokiâs reactions and possible change in character, especially towards you. Ever since you stepped foot on Lamentis, all you felt was pain. You have never been injured so much within the last few hours than in your entire life and weirdly, you feel fine.
Sylvie is quick to stand, watching the two of you work in tandem. His grip finds the curve of your shoulders as you stick your hand out to grip him by the bicep. At your touch, you notice how his arm stiffens ever so slightly. You donât say anything.
Some things about Loki are best left unknown and unanswered.
Today is filled with a lot of getting off the ground in the most unceremonious way possible.
A deep exhale leaves your lips, wisps of your hair drifting with the brutal breeze from your nostrils. Beads of sweat trail along the curve of your forehead and the back of your neck. Some entangled with the strands of your hair. Your hands feel clammy and dirty but you run them to push your hair back and away from your face anyway.
âIâm fine,â you mumble, pulling yourself away from his touch.
You finally get a good look at the two. Loki looks like complete shit but Sylvie manages to maintain the regalness to the locks of her hair despite her opposing overall behavior. Itâs the Asgardian blood coursing through her veins. You cannot hide your ancestors' blood. Itâs hard to believe the two are the sameâone being. Yet, it's believable when youâre angry at the two of them.
The two messed up your career, thatâs why.
Unbothered and uncivilized. Itâs a miracle youâre still alive.
As your eyes shift along the train tracks that meander along a gorge with steep rocky walls that leer above it, you catch sight of a spark by your feet, glinting under the iridescent sky.
Itâs the TemPad, shattered into pieces; you recognize the color gold of its border.
Your eyes grow wide, mouth agape. You donât even feel angry anymore, itâs more than that. You stick out your hand to gesture towards the destroyed device, âIs thatâIs that the TemPad?â you ask as your other hand lifts to hold the side of your head. âOr am I just seeing things from the concussion?â
Sylvie is the one to speak. âItâs not the concussion.â
You suddenly feel like youâre burning.
If it were possible, you could have instantly killed him with a look.
âYou. You killed us!â you step closer to him and for a moment, Loki doesnât exactly know what to do. âSo, itâs my fault then? You were the one who left me alone in the lounge.â are the words that leave his lips. Completely useless. Trying to diffuse the tension is the exact opposite of what he does.
His silver tongue isnât so shiny and silver anymore.
You donât pull your blow this time. Your palm strikes his cheek, rocking his head to the side. Your hand is oddly soft. Loki winces and you stand your ground. âYouâre a jerk and an asshole. Youâve probably been called that for all your life and yet, here you are. Still, the most insensitive and pathetic man Iâve ever met,â you articulate your words with frustration and rage. You donât raise your voice like before, itâs low and frightfully intimidating. âAnd Iâm not your babysitter.â
â
Battles, ruination, and fracas gave a sense of familiarity to Sylvie in a time of an impending apocalypse. When worlds end, benevolence is resolute. The tragedy of the end of lost soulsâafraid to die. But as daunting as the apocalypse is, the beauty of their souls finally returning to the universe protrudes amongst the debris and misery.
She sees herself in the two of you, as much as she doesnât identify as a Loki anymore, and her hatred towards the TVA. You have a temper and he doesnât know how to keep his mouth shut.
Youâre mysterious in an almost enchanting way and possibly significant as you seemed to be at first glance. Sylvie is highly curious about you.
You donât stray too far from the group, only to find rest by the edge of a pit made by a crashing meteor. You sit with your back turned against the very two beings you distrust as you watch the border where the bustling city of Shuroo is based. Your guard is down and you donât care at this point. Everyone is about to die anyway.
Sylvieâs gaze finds Loki who seems to be only watching the back of your still figure, eyes glinting with an emotion unknown to her. Possibly regret? Sylvie doesnât know what regret looks like. But fear and anger, she feels it radiating from you. She knows it. Something tells her youâre not solely angry at her and Loki.
She finds herself drifting closer to you. You donât move. She cautiously settles beside you. âYouâre not hiding a knife somewhere, arenât you?â
You merely scoff, caressing your head, âYouâre the one to say.â
Sylvie blinks. Fair enough.
Silence. Sylvieâs eyes shift to the handkerchief tied around your arm, stained with blood. âHowâs the arm?â
You hum. âSurprisingly, fine.â
Oh, Sylvie knows itâs fine. She knows what Loki did. She decides not to mention the scratch she made across your cheek.
âDid the slap make you feel better?â
The question is hinted at near sarcasm, but genuinely, she wants to know.
âYes, it did. You should try it sometime.â
She simply hums. âI would have but you beat me to it.â
A turn of your lips as they curve into a small smile. Sylvie watches with an odd sense of satisfaction. âYou know, Iâm still mad at you. For what you did to me.â Your words are slow. You find yourself swallowing. âBut itâs nothing compared to what the TVA did to you.â
Empathy. Is this what empathy feels like? The moment when someone finally understands what itâs like to be alone for so long. Your lives are different but they reflect in certain ways. You have had your fair share of living in constant fear and constantly running. Sylvie finds herself wanting to tell you that she hadnât simply pushed you into Sakaar. When itâs a mission, things are never accidental. She always has a plan.
Yet, she chooses not to say anything.
You speak again but merely whisper, fidgeting with your fingers, âBefore Sakaarâdid you enchant me?â
It's as if you're reading her mind.
âAre you seeing things?â
After a pause, the fidgeting stops.
âIâve seen things all my life, images. Brief and insignificant. But ever since I was in Sakaar, itâs gotten a lot harder to differentiate a dream and a memory.â
âThatâs because they arenât dreams.â
Your hardened gaze finds hers for a brief moment, nearly growing wide at her words but in an instant, your guard is up once you hear the shuffling of feet behind you where Loki lingers. The subject is dropped immediately. He meets Sylvieâs gaze, the two share a knowing look.
Your anger is provoked and well deserved and yet, the last thing he wants is to be your enemy. Loki doesnât know why. He has lived a life full of them.
Youâre different.
He stills, wondering if youâre going to lash out at him again but when he notices your slow breaths, he decides to sit next to you anyway, awkward glances to you in his periphery. A deep sigh escapes his lips, fiddling with his fingers. âWhat now?â
Sylvie is the one to answer. âI donât know. You broke the TemPad.â
âWellââ
âAnd that planet is about to crash into us.â
Loki looks up at the nearing planet of Lamentis. He blinks. âWell, yes, butââ
âYes, but what?â
âWell, the entire moon is destroyed, right?â
Sylvie is trying to suppress your growing annoyance. âYep. And everyone on it is killed.â
But Loki pesters on. âIncluding us.â
She raises her voice. âYes, including us.â Loki glances at you momentarily. A pause. He furrows his brows in thought.
âWhat about the ark?â
âThe ark never leaves because it's destroyed.â
Suddenly, an epiphany, his eyes light up. He turns to you and Sylvie, âNever had us on it.â
You suddenly scoff at his words. âAre you suggesting we hijack the ark and make sure it gets off this moon?â You turn to him to only spot a vague smile playing upon his lips. He nods in return. âSounds like a good idea to me, Agent.â
You merely blink, watching the way his eyes shift across your face. First, youâre struck with uncertainty. Itâs a risk, a huge one but you know, risks are meant to be uncertain. Risks are also vital in success. Hesitation, doubtâthey make you weak. This time, you want to be strong. Strong enough for one last push to save your life.
âOkay.â is what you say, your expression reflecting his.
For the first time, since he took your hand in Sakaar, youâre starting to trust him.
â
The walk to Shuroo seemed endless. You trail behind the two, feeling like youâre about to suffocate.
ââTo preserve the connection, I have to create a fantasy from their memories.â
Loki and Sylvie had been conversing about the science and functions of enchantment in a rather surprisingly calm manner. Loki hums, amused by her elucidation. âAnd you call me a magician.â
Her expression is unchanged as she continues to trudge alongside Loki, ignoring his previous statement. âThat young soldier from the TVA, her mind was messed up. Everything clouded. I had to pull a memory from hundreds of years prior...before she even fought for them.â
Loki halts abruptly in his step, hand flying to grab Sylvieâs arm. âWhat? What'd you say? Before she joined the TVA?â
Sylvie blinks. âYeah. She was just a regular person on Earth.â
His mind starts to reel, face muddled with confusion. âI was told that everyone who works for the TVA was created by the Time-Keepers.â
âThat's ridiculous. They're all variants, just like us. Including her.â Sylvie gestures discreetly to you who has stopped to take a breather, hands on your hips as you blink up to the sky.
You, Mobius, all of them. All variants.
âThey don't know that. She doesnât know that.â he breathes a terrified expression.
Sylvie looks at you from afar. Youâre now looking at them with a bewildered expression. âWhat?â you call out, voice echoing through the wide area, in a somewhat defensive tone.
She turns to Loki once more, voice nearly faltering. âI have a feeling she already knows it.â
â
Loki doesnât realize the unfamiliarity of hopelessness. Throughout his life, he was constantly surrounded by those with unfaltering determinationâHis brother, family, friends who were warriors, The Avengers.
Never was it known that he would see it burning in your eyes as they reflect the growing fire of the Ark, crumbling down, tongues of fire engulfing it whole before you. His heart burns with it as Shuroo falls quietâonly the sounds of the metallic crashing of the disintegrating parts of the ship falling from above and the screams of the rich and deemed worthy to live. Every Lamentian still alive held their breath, a moment's silence for their lives must end. Everything must end.
So close yet so far.
Sylvie is gone by the minute as the city starts to descend in terror and panic. He stands behind your still form, just watching your only chance of making it out, swallowed by its own billowing smoke. He reaches out for you, tugging you by the sleeve. âWe should leave,â he says with a sudden sense to protect you. There isnât much to do at this point. It doesn't matter if you are hit by the falling pieces of the Ark because you are all going to die anyway.
But he considers it a gesture, as insignificant and small it is. The least he could do is to distract you from the end, whether for a mere second or minutes.
âI know things havenât been the best between us and I concede I bring out the worst in you, but I wanted to say Iâm sorry.â
You turn to Loki with his sudden words. He watches the way your expression softens so gracefully, face adorned with gashes and wounds. Your mouth twitches as you respond with a gentle voice. âI forgive you.â
Three words. Very powerful words.
His heart skips a beat.
You find Sylvie at the brink of the city, sitting on a stretched slab of rock amongst the dirt, watching the horizon where the planet starts to meet the moon. Loki still has his hand around your arm, but you donât complain. Itâs your only source of support at the moment. Itâs an unconscious move, but everything about it feels right when the two of you settle beside her, shoulders brushing against each other. It only makes sense to want to feel the nearness, the closeness of another as the light at the end of the tunnel begins to dim.
Itâs impending. Itâs scary.
âI remember Asgard.â
Sylvieâs voice trembles, her eyes are somber.
âNot much, but I remember. My home, my people, my life. Then, the TVA showed up, erased my reality, and took me, prisoner. I was just a child.â
You turn to her, guilt bubbling in your chest, but you donât say anything. You let her speak. Itâs only right.
âI escaped.â she breathes, blinking the brimming tears in her eyes away. âStole a TemPad and I ran for a long, long time, which really sucked. Everywhere and every-when I went, it caused a Nexus event.â
Sylvie turns to you with a melancholic gaze. âThe universe wants to break free, so it manifests chaos. Like me being born the Goddess of Mischief. But to you and the TVA, Iâm not supposed to exist.â
For so long, you hadnât realized the consequences of your work at the TVA. You believed you were right. That erasing, resetting realities were meant to be. You cannot comprehend how it only occurred to you to question the authority of the Time-Keepers over time itself after Sakaar. All those years of being ignorant and selfish. You hadnât realized. You never did.
But now you know.
Sylvie continues, gaze shifting away from you. âI figured out where to hide. And so that's where I grew up, the ends of a thousand worlds. Now...that's where I'll die.â
Then, silence. It sits heavily between the three of you.
âThe universeâisnât she beautiful?â Your voice is soft, eyes trained on the horizonâa fleet of asteroids, they reflect the end. But they seem to dance to the silence of the apocalypse, drifting across the stratosphere, lining the firmament. Lokiâs gaze shifts to you, training on every curve of your face and the tears slipping down your cheeks. He agrees, the universe is beautiful.
Youâre beautiful.
âShe brings turmoil, agony, and destruction but in all her flaws, thereâs beauty in her very existence.â
Your hands find Sylvie and Lokiâs hands, holding on to them tightly as you fight the wavering of your voice.
âYou...Both of you might be the epitome of chaos but you must know that you have such beautiful souls. All of us, we're her children...and if she is beautiful, so are we. And the Universe is always right. If she created you then we are wrong.â
Sylvieâs face is soft. Loki squeezes your hand.
âIâm sorry. Iâm sorry for everything. I should have known from the start...that the TVA was lying to all of us. I should have questioned. I should have doubtedââ
âItâs okay. Itâs not your fault,â she says, smiling with saddened eyes.
You laugh. You donât know why, but you do. Maybe, itâs because you know you are a part of the problem anyway, even if you were just doing your job.
You find Lokiâs gaze thatâs already on you. You sigh and speak through a whisper. âIâm sorry for slapping you.â
His lips curve into a grin, eyes crinkling like your own. âIt was well deserved, but I forgive you.â
Fingers entangled with the hands of two unlikely people, you finally realize what it truly feels like to not be alone. To be in the company of someone you want to be with.
âNow long now.â Those three words leave the very lips of Sylvie and your chest feels like itâs about to collapse.
You never knew you were afraid of death, yet here you areâterrified.
The ground shakes beneath you. Itâs dark and thereâs fire everywhere. A meteor collides to the ground just across the way, it sends smoke billowing to its surroundings faster than you can blink.
Even in the last seconds of your life, you have doubts remaining. What if the universe isnât always right?
Then, through the growing dust, you see a spark, like lightning. A glint of a figure, standing before you. White, pure, and serene. Youâre standing now, staring ahead. Sylvie and Loki cease to exist in your mind as they gaze at you with bewilderment. They anxiously call you by your name but you donât hear it. Thereâs only silence now, you donât hear anything but the ringing in your ears.
A voice, she speaks with dignity. A voice so familiar.
âDoubt makes the strong weak, my child.â
Then, you hear it. A soft humâa Time Door glows warmth amid your impending death.
Suddenly, sheâs gone.

*gif isnt mine*
âHow do you like it?â Sam asked.
You turned to the mirror, eyes wide and mouth agape, admiring your new suit.
âThis is awesome!â You squealed.
Sam, Tony, and Nat had deisgned a new suit for you. After your last battle, your suit had been torn to shreds. It had been months since you were able to go out in the field and youâd be anxious to fight crime. Now that you had your new suit, you were now able to fight crime.
You were named Fox. You were sly, witty, and and charming. Not just in your moves, but your personality, too. You had been working alongside your dad, Iron Man, for 7 years. You were 10 when you started, obviously too young to actually be fighting, but you were his right hand woman at all times. You helped him with his suit, team, and plans on how to deal with missions.
Your suit was a dark orange body suit, much like Natâs. You had fingerless gloves, black combat boots, and an orange mask that went around your eyes. You had a black stripe down your suitâs back, much like a foxâs. You also had a utility belt with a grapling hook, taser, and pepper spray â you could never be too careful in the city. You and Tony tried hard to keep your identity safe, especially since you were still in high school.
âDo you think we need to add anything?â Tony asked.
âCan I get rockets on the bottoms on my shoes like you?â You asked.
Tony chuckled, âWeâd have to change the whole material of your suit, cupcake. You donât like metal, remember?â
You grumbled, âYeah, yeah. Well, I love it! Thank you guys so much.â You turned to them with a big smile.
âNo problem, babe,â Nat smiled. âYou have training with me today at five.â
You nodded, âNoted.â
âThere will be someone else joining you in trianing today,â Tony said.
âWho? Is it Bucky?â You asked. âNo, heâs new,â Tony said.
âWow, that gives me a lot. Who is it?â You pressed.Â
âYouâll see. Heâs actually pretty good for just starting out,â Sam smirked.Â
You sighed, knowing they were gonna make it a surprise.Â
âWell, I canât wait!â You faked enthusiasm. You didnât like surprises.Â
You went off and up to your room, changing out of your suit and into running shorts and a t-shirt. You decided to take a nap before your training.
You woke up 2 hours later, still as exhausted as before. You filled up your water bottle before going into the gym. You saw Nat and a brunette boy. He wasnât too much taller and by the back of his head, he didnât look too much older.
âHey, Nat,â you greeted as you walked in and set your water bottle near the mat.Â
âHey, Y/n! This is our new recruit, Peter Parker. You probably know him as Spider-Man,â Nat smiled. Peter turned around and his eyes widened.Â
His heart started to race and his face turned red as he looked over you. Your eyes were bright and lively, your smile being the most gorgeous smile heâd ever seen. Your skin flawless and you had no makeup on, but you still looked beautiful.Â
âHi,â you smiled. âIâm Y/n Stark,â you held out your hand.Â
Peter opened his mouth to speak, but the only sound that came out was a squeak. Nat and you chuckled at his shock.Â
âH-hi. Iâm Parker. No, Pe-Peter,â he stuttered and shook your hand.Â
âNot used to meeting important people, huh?â You smirked.Â
âYe-yeah, but also pretty people,â he blurted. His face turned a darker shade of red and he slapped his mad over his mouth.Â
The action made Nat giggle and his words made flustered as well.
âThank you, Peter,â you said shyly and looked down at your shoes.Â
âReady to get to work, love birds?â Nat teased.Â
You rolled your eyes and nodded. You took a long sip of water.
âWe are gonna start on the treadmill, do some weights, and Iâm gonna teach you some combat moves,â Nat instructed.Â
You and Peter nodded and got up on the treadmills.Â
âOne mile today. Remember to pace yourself. If you get tired, donât be afraid to slow down a little,â Nat said.Â
You started the treadmill at 3.5 so you can warm up for a few minutes before running. You took a small sip of your water as you sped-walked. You looked over and saw Peter already running his mile. Your brows cocked upwards as you saw him running at 6.0 speed.
You worked your way up to 6.0 speed, finishing your mile in 6 minutes. Peter, however, finished 3 minutes after you.Â
âI said pace yourself, kid,â Nat said.Â
Peter blushed again and nodded.Â
âNext time, follow Y/nâs lead. She paces herself nicely,â Nat said while you took a drink of water.Â
âThanks, Nat. I have been doing this for a long time,â you smiled.Â
âHow long? Are you a superhero?â Peter asked.Â
âMhm,â you hummed. âIâve been helping my dad since I was 10. Iâve been a superhero for 3 years.â
âWhatâs your superhero name?â Peter asked.Â
âFox.â
âOh, my God! Really? I-I am such a big fan. You were what actually inspired me to become Spider-Man. I think itâs so cool how you save people and fight off bad guys without any superpowers,â Peter gushed.Â
âThank you, Pete,â you giggled at his excitement.Â
âYouâre welcome. Wow, this is so cool. I am working with Fox, Iron Man, Black Widow,â Peter smiled.Â
âYouâre lucky, kid,â Nat smiled and patted his back. âOkay, why donât you all stretch. Peter, have you ever benched before?âÂ
Peter shook his head while stretching his hamstrings.Â
âOkay, weâll start you out with 45 pounds. If thatâs too light, weâll bump it up to 50,â Nat said and put the weights on the bar. âY/n, what do you wanna do today?â
âUh, Iâll do a leg and glute day today. My arms need a break,â you said.Â
âRock and roll, then. Iâll spot you, Parker,â Nat said. Peter went to bench press while you went to the kickback machine.Â
You and Peter worked in weights for about an hour. You did a variety of workouts while Peter mainly focused on how to use each machine and which would be most beneficial for him.Â
âOkay. Grab a drink, use the bathroom, whatever you need before we do some fighting,â Nat said.Â
You both went to do your things before you were going to fight. You came back in the gym, stretching your arms while walking in.
âReady to work, Pete?â You asked the boy and patted his back. He nodded and choked on his water when he looked up at you
You changed our of your shorts and t-shirt to black biker shorts and a grey sports bra. The biker shorts hugged your body perfectly and the top of your breats showed, making Peter stare.
You noticed and smirked. âMy eyes are up here, kid.â
His eyes immediately shot up and his face blushed for what seemed like the 100th time today.
âI am so sorry. I just donât see girls in bras, like, ever. In gym class we all wear t-shirts, which makes sense. I didnât mean to make you uncomfortable, I swear Iâm not a prevert or anything, you just look really uh... nice? Iââ
Nat and you turned to each other, amusement played on your faces. You turned back to the rambling boy.
âItâs okay, Peter. I get it, boobs are nice to look at. Especially when youâre a hormonal, almost always horny, teenage boy,â you teased.
âIâm not horny!â He claimed, embarrassing himself more.
âDonât worry, I never assumed you were. I was just speaking generally,â you smiled.
âOh,â he said and he looked down sheepishly.
âNo worries. Now, letâs get goinâ,â you said.
Peter nodded and followed you to the mat.Â
âSo, we are going to practice some basic moves. Y/n, I know you already know them, but there is nothing wrong with reviewing,â Nat said.Â
You both nodded, waiting for further instruction.
âSo, the first one is simple, yet very dangerous. Itâs also fairly easy, in my opinion. Itâs called the rear neck choke,â Nat said. âPeter, youâre gonna stand behind Y/n and put your arm around her neck.â
Peter nodded and awkwardly stood behind you. Your butt brushed against his crotch, making him cough awkwardly. He put his arm around your neck. The skin-to-skin contact made your heart flutter. You cleared your throat, too, breathing deeply to try and slow your heart rate.
âGood. Now, you basically just squeeze until the person passes out. Y/n, why donât you demenstrate the next move,â Nat said.
You smiled and took ahold of Peterâs arm. You then crouched down and pulled him over your head. You flipped him over on the mat.
âOw,â he whined as he fell. He looked up at you and couldnât help but smile. You stood tall, hands on your hips and a smile on your face.
âNow, Peter, what you can do when she does that is hook your legs on her ankles and pull so she looses balance. You then can reach for her ankle and throw her across the room. But, we arent going to do that. What you can do, though, is do the ankle bit I told you. Then you can pin her down,â Nat explained.
Peter looked at you two hesitantly. âI donât want to hurt you.â
Y/n chuckled, âItâs all right. You wonât hurt me that bad, I promise.â
Peter nodded and did as he was told. He hooked his feet over your ankle and jerked you so your feet gave out beneth you. He then got up quickly to pin you down, but you were quicker.
You rolled over and pinned him down instead. Your left hand held his wrists above his head while your right held down his shoulder. Your legs went around his waist and squeezed slightly to make sure he wouldnât move. Your head leaned down to his, a triumphant smile resting on your lips.
âW-wha-â Peter was at a loss for words. Not just because you beat him, but how close you two were.
He breathed in deeply, catching a whiff of your scent. You smelled like cherries and vanilla. Your skin was smooth, clear, and glowing from the sheer film of sweat on your face. You looked like an angel to him, nonetheless.
âAnd that is why you gotta be faster, Parker. But youâll learn in time. Youâre already pretty good on the field by yourself,â Nat said.
Peter nodded. You got up off of him and helped him up.
âWanna try that again? I promise I wonât do that again,â you suggested.
âSure,â Peter nodded and laid back on the mat.
He hooked onto your ankle again. As you promised, you let him pin you down. You watched the way he moved. He was swift and fast. The way his muscles flexed when he grabbed your wrist made your stomach flip.
He got on top of you, pinning both your wrists like you did to him. His free hand went to the side of your face, helping him support himself so he wouldnât be laying directly on top of you.
Your heart rate quickened once more and you felt like it was hard to breathe. A few strands of his hair were hanging down from his head and he had sweat glistening on his forehead. His honey-brown eyes was something you found yourself getting lost in quickly. He was so handsome.
âUh... Y/n?â Peter muttered, catching your attention.
You blinked rapidly and looked away in embarrassment. âSorry.â
âItâs okay,â he gave you a friendly smile and got off of you.
âOkay, water break. You two practice those few moves a few more times,â Nat said.
You got up and took a big sip of your water bottle. You then got back to training with Peter. He was a fast learner and almost every time pinned you down. You, however, were slightly faster.
Each time you got on top of him, Peter couldnât help the butterflies in his stomach. Heâd never been this close to a girl before.
Thirty minutes later and the session was over.
âGood job, you two. Next time weâll get into more moves involving punching and such. See you later, kiddos,â Nat smiled at you two. She left the gym and you turned to Peter.
âIt was nice meeting you, Pete. Maybe we can hang out outside of training?â You suggested.
Peterâs eyes lit up and he nodded excitedly.
âY-yeah. Iâd like that.â
âGreat. Give me your number next time. See you, Spidey,â you waved and left the gym.
Peter jumped up and down. He couldnât wait to tell Ned.

Debbie Gallagher: ALL Love Interests RANKED
Okay! I tried to rank all of Debsâ love interests and it was hard to do because I am not set on that ONE PERSON that I ship her with above all else, but these are my thoughts! Keep in mind that these are all MY OPINIONS and you are entitled to yours as well! Letâs talk about it! If you read all this ILY.
Here we go:
...................................
23. The Guy At The Pool (Season 5)
He thought Debs was special needs and she tried to flirt with him...
22. Kelly (Season 9-10)
I LOVE Kelly so much but she was not into Debbie! I really love her with Carl and Debbie should not have tried to interfere! I will however say that I really really REALLY enjoy their friendship and I wish that that would have continued on. They had some really good moments together.
20/21. Eugene (Season 6) & Board Game Guy (Season 7)
Alright so these two donât technically count because Frank tried to set Debbie up with Eugene so that sheâd be written into his will. And the Board Game Guy was from a deleted scene as one of Debbieâs âlife partnersâ from that flyer she made. So enough said.
18/19. Tyler (Season 6) & Erika (Season 6)
Again, Frank attempted to set Debbie up with Tyler and while that âpotential relationshipâ wasnât as bad as what happened between her and Erika, I am grouping them together because Debbie wasnât technically into either of them and it was set up to fail right from the start.
17. Larry (Season 6)
The pregnancy fetish guy! Iâm not quite sure what the intentions were for this character in the long run but it was a funny joke in the episode he was in. Even in the beginning Larry gave off red flags, but Debbie was happy... until the truth was revealed. Weird.
16. Jared (Season 11)
Another irrelevant love interest: the gay guy that cheated on his husband with Debbie after giving her cocaine. Obvious issues with this encounter/plot line aside, I did feel that their interactions at the bar were flirtatious and I didnât hate him.
15. Calista (Season 11)
ANOTHER irrelevant character that was used and never brought back!!! I didnât totally hate her either, she was upfront about her ex-girlfriend and that whole situation. She helped Debbie and didnât take advantage of her but the second she came on screen; Iâm sorry but I did not give a fuck. Her last episode built up a potential friend/relationship opportunity for Debbie and they just did nothing with it. Idfk what else to say, not a fan but I did appreciate Calista trying to take care of Debbie when she clearly was drinking too much.
14. Sandy (Season 10-11)
Oh boy, everyoneâs favorite partner of Debbieâs... Yeah, Sandy is so low on this list not necessarily because I didnât like her for Debbie, or that I have beef with Elise (b/c I love her as an actor sm). I personally just hate the sheer fact that this character EXISTS in the first place. I never understood the hype, but I know that people only like her because sheâs a Milkovich ie. related to Mickey. Thatâs the hard truth this fandom isnât willing to admit. My disliking Sandy should be a post of its own but lemme get into her relationship with Debbie.
You could tell that Emma and Elise liked working together so the chemistry was sorta there (definitely not soulmate shit tho). Each time that they interacted in s10 I was over it. S11 was better in the sense that whether I would like to admit it or not, they did have some âcute momentsâ (mainly just Sandy calling Debbie babe/babes). The second shit hit the fan in regards to Sandyâs history, I immediately understood Debbieâs issue with her and why her character would not want to be with Sandy. But, with that being said, Debbie was also in the wrong because she made everything about herself throughout the entire course of this relationship! Sandy did call her out, ex: âwho was supposed to take Franny to school?â, and things like that were nice. HOWEVER I am sorry to say, this relationship felt like a massive waste of time and it felt like they were trying to force something that shouldnât have existed to begin with. I donât have the patience to even analyze this anymore, but maybe down the line because clearly there is SO MUCH to delve into!
13. Alex (Season 9)
Omg I did not like this relationship/plotline at all. Alex had issues but Debbie was so inconsiderate! I never saw the appeal here! It was nice that Alex had the decency to go and help Debs with Ford after the fact. I just feel âmehâ about this tho. They had moments but ultimately I personally wasnât into it and Debbieâs random newfound self discovery of âlesbianismâ.
12. Kyle (Season 3)
Emma Kenneyâs first kiss! Kyle was a one episode character that did have the potential to be more than that. I didnât hate the kid as Debbieâs love interest, but there also wasnât anything special about him. He was just kinda there and then he left. Debbie really seemed to like him though, spelling his name in her peas, etc.. I do like that one line about cigarettes that Kyle had but again he was such a short lived character and when he turned out not to be related to Kevin it became unnecessary to keep him around... even if the episode alluded to him returning. They were sorta cute!
11. Claudia (Season 10)
So I didnât like this relationship much either but there was a certain kind of stability in the relationship that felt organic and nice. Partly because I enjoyed watching Constance Zimmer and she made Claudia likeable. Do I ship it? No. Was it a problematic dynamic? Yes. Was it a tolerable relationship? Eh. I didnât hate it entirely though. Debbie, being a Gallagher, eventually fucked it up. And while I did like the drama, Debbie wasnât REALLY into Claudia as much as she may have believed she was. So, it totally felt like a one off that would end with Claudia not returning... and it was. So there was no time for an investment of any kind.
10. Hedi (Season 11)
Gosh... Debbieâs endgame(?). Hedi was introduced too late for me to care enough about her (At this point it would have made sense for Debbie to wind up with Calista because at least she was already introduced!). I donât necessarily like Hedi as a character and quite frankly it was a âwho tf does SHE think she isâ kinda deal for me. At first I was interested and didnât hate her (and I donât), but then she âthought she was Jimmyâ and I instantly got annoyed (LOL I GUESS it was a nice nod to him tho... I guess).
My (several) problems with Hedi as a character aside, there IS something about Hedi being presented as this âdangerous badassâ who is (somehow) WORSE than Debbie, that worked well. Iâm not a fan of the ship, but it is an interesting dynamic in the sense that Debbie could potentially be âliving on the edgeâ. I fear for what trouble this could cause Debbie BUT itâs like Frank referenced: Monica vibes. I donât think itâs âtrue loveâ like Debbie said to Franny. A constant storyline for Debbie has been âwhy canât anyone ever love meâ and so she falls in quickly. Maybe Hedi will leave her but thatâs the thing, âsheâs done worseâ so idk, either way I donât think itâs meant to last! But I guess I donât mind them being together! Karmaâs a bitch! Will Carl tell her what Arthur found? Would it even make a difference?
9. Julia (Season 10)
I would have actually rather preferred her with Carl too! It was never love between Debbie and Julia, but the relationship did create good conflict for my viewing pleasure. UNPOPULAR OPINION, I didnât mind Julia as a character at all. She was fine for me. I also enjoyed how ultimately SHE was only using Debbie in the end. Julia does admit later on that she was experiencing with her sexuality so maybe she did have feelings for Debbie at one point, which I thought was interesting. Debbie got herself into this one. At least Julia was more age appropriate than Claudia... (which is ironic since Debbie got in trouble for being with Julia when the age gap is MUCH bigger between Claudia and Debbie LOL I love it)! I also found Julia annoying Debbie to be amusing, thatâs not to say that I liked her a lot either cuz I donât!
8. Matty (Season 4-5)
Man do I feel bad for Matty! Debbie raped him and it was horrible. From the get-go when Matty was introduced the relationship was hella awkward!! And not only that but Debbie was a MINOR! Matty did do the right thing and said they couldnât be together but a part of me will always feel strange that he WAS INITIALLY attracted to Debbie before learning her age. That to me is still wildly inappropriate. He shoulda cut it off. He did try to be her friend and took her to that dance which was cute but ahhh this was just a MESS all around. Cringe. At least he didnât take advantage.
7. Henry (Season 4)
Speaking of Matty and that dance, Henry was supposed to take her. He asked her as a joke in order for Seama to inflict revenge on Debbie. If that werenât the case however... DAMN THEY WERE CUTE! The potential that this relationship could have had! If only it wasnât all an act! It was a âday worth of loveâ and sure thatâs not enough for two people to REALLY be IT, yet there was something charming about their connection that I wish was real. Or idk maybe Henry could have reconnected with her later and apologized and it could have been revealed that he did actually like her... but that wasnât the case. Fuck him!
6. Simon (Season 1-2)
Debbie was NOT interested in Simon at all but at the time he was almost like the male version of her. Their banter back and forth was fun to watch and he probably would have treated her well. Itâs unfortunate that we didnât get to even see their friendship progress. Their interactions were funny and he was a good guy!
5. Batiste (Season 10)
Yâall may not understand why this guy is so high on the list but a part of me wishes this character wasnât a one off. Batiste is the dude Debbie tried to return her âunusedâ shoes to. If you can recall, he wanted a blowjob to take advantage of her. While this was a dick move (and the plot went nowhere) a part of me would have liked to see more! He did have an arc where he acted like an ass and realized that it is wrong to degrade women. I just think it could have been built upon and Emma may have had chemistry with this actor. There was something here that I didnât hate and I felt it could have been expanded upon.
4. Little Hank (Season 2-3)
Debbieâs first real crush! It was interesting to see how he didnât like her at first and then a âfriendship/relationshipâ slowly started to develop after he gave her flowers. IT JUST NEVER CONTINUED! Little Hank was in no way the most upstanding, but it was cool to see Carl have a friend that Debbie crushed on (when she was little she wasnât intentionally taking something away from Carl ie. Kelly, so I support it). Their interactions were fun to watch too! The fandom definitely has a soft spot for Little Hank! And at one point everyone was rooting for them to be together. Too bad we never discovered what ended up happening to this character!
3. Neil (Season 7-8)
The bathtub scene tho! Adorable! There was a short moment within this relationship that was super cute where the two of them really did seem to care about each other and may have both been in love. It goes without saying that Debbie was only using him, but they did have SOME potential and they found a common ground where they each benefited each otherâs needs. Debbie once again was TOO controlling and self absorbed to make it work, but I donât think she was entirely happy in a relationship with him. He deserved more respect!
2. Derek (Season 5-8)
Baby Daddy! I really did enjoy them together until Debbie took advance of him and Franny came into the picture, but at the same time thatâs one of the reasons that Derek, as a character, has a deeper connection to Debbie and the audience. I always enjoyed their flirting back and forth and the relationship they had (the deleted scene with the card/push up game ahh my heart)! Debbie really did mess up due to her desperation to âbelong to a familyâ, which is another one of her consistent character traits. She just went too far and tried to trap him. Then shit got messed up between their families. Derek did eventually ask for parcial custody and did have a desire to be a part of Frannyâs life. Debbie said no and that plot line died until s10. Pepa!! Ahh! RIP to Derek, it was sad to me that he died. Definitely a character and relationship that I wish was incorporated more because I truly enjoyed them together.
1. Duran (Season 8)
Besties with benefits! Stop! Nobody talks about my guy Duran! Sure they both said that this relationship was of a sexual nature and that they were just a couple of friends but damn! The chemistry and dynamic was palpable! It is truly a shame that we didnât get to see more of this friendship! They were on common ground and really did care about each other! I donât know why but I really just LOVED them together! Duran was also in her friend group with Farhad and that was a group that seemed to have a positive impact on Debbie as a person. S8 Debbie was cool! These two complemented each other so nicely! Duran wasnât by any means the best influence on her because he almost lead Debbie down a âMonica pathâ but come on, Hedi is worse in that department. He was getting his life together like Debbie was with her profession. Just think of the hair convos Duran and Tami could have had Lol. Idk, I just like Debbie with him a lot! It was healthy to an extent and he was supportive of Debs with Franny.
#I could write so much more for each of these but Iâll spare you#guys nobody talks about the AMOUNT of love interests Debbie had over the course of this damn show#I miss characters with a lot of depth!#I want to do more of these relationship lists for other characters#my lists#my favs#shameless#gallavich#debbie gallagher#franny gallagher#sandy milkovich#debbie x sandy

First impression: I think I loved him right off the bat. Heâs snarky and quick witted and those are usually the characters I like first.Â
Impression now: Not much has changed. I suppose I have more of an understanding for how he handled his demons now compared to my initial reaction to his heroin use. And I definitely think heâs at his healthiest in season three.Â
Favorite moment: Oh jeeze, he has so many good ones! I suppose I rather like him in Shady Glen. Just like his whole taking charge of the group and his awkwardly trying to smooth things over when he and Richie busted in guns drawn on that woman and her son. Reminded me of the convo between him and the Dew Drop Inn clerk.
Idea for a story: Nothing new, but Iâve got anther tUA-inspired AU snippet brewing that touches more on Sethâs Bad Ass Normal superpower though.
Unpopular opinion: I donât know that itâs all that unpopular, but Iâm not convinced Seth used again after season two. Iâm not convinced he didnât either, but itâs never been a personal headcanon or something that Iâve felt was a given or anything. I mostly feel that he went back to popping prescription pain pills and probably mixing them with alcohol (not smart) when he was feeling particularly shitty.
Favorite relationship: Probably him and Richie (although he and Kate are a close second.) Their relationship is pretty much the heart of the show and I donât think I wouldâve loved it nearly so much had it not been.
Favorite headcanon: Itâs a tie between Seth getting a cross tattoo to represent Kate after season three, and that Seth started questioning his faith after the blood-transfusion-that-shouldnâtâve-worked. And as a tie into the second one, that he and Kate do not have compatible blood types, something Seth learned after the fact.
Kate Fuller
First impression: That she was a typical, albeit a bit on the mature side, teenage girl, lol. At least for most of season one. I think I probably stereotyped her a bit, because I remember not realizing just how quickly Kate grew unafraid/immune to the Gecko Brothers until my first rewatch.
Impression now: She is so much a âthereâs bravery in remaining softâ/âworldâs nicest badassâ/âdo not mistake my kindness for ignoranceâ character. She has this quiet strength and is unwavering in who she is at her core. Â
Favorite moment: Pretty much anytime Kate meets someone new and they inevitably get attached and decide to go to the ends of the earth for her (or theyâre evil and decide they want to possess her *cough*Malvado,Tanner,Oculto*cough*)
Idea for a story: Iâve been wanting to write a fairytale!AU, particularly with my favorite fairytale, but it doesnât fit SethKate all that well. Maybe Iâll just expand on that crack!ficlet I wrote...? Idk. Iâve got too many wips anyway.
Unpopular opinion: I canât think of one I havenât named before. I suppose with the increase in purity culture here on Tumblr the fact that I really donât mind the age gap between Seth and Kate nor do I think it makes any difference if Kateâs underage or legally an adult would count.
Favorite relationship: In show itâs probably her and the Gecko Brothers, but in those inbetween moments I really love her and Scott.
Favorite headcanon: Currently Iâm think about how I headcanon that Kate has some lingering muscle memory about swordsmanship from Amaru. Its nothing too exciting, especially since Amaruâs pre-Earth memories -and therefore her memories of learning to use a sword- are fuzzy at best, but her body practiced with one enough during those six months that it falls into place easy enough when she picks up a blade.
Jeff Winger
First impression: Like Seth, heâs that brand of snarky and quick witted that I immediately like.Â
Impression now: I donât know that itâs changed much. I love how the show let Jeff grow but also let him slip back into old habits. People donât change overnight, and while Jeff didnât need each lesson hammered over his head repeatedly, he did need to learn not to fall back into his default mode whenever he could. Â
Favorite moment: Anytime Jeff shows genuine excitement to hang out with the study group. Like when he showed up early to the apartment for the wedding.
Idea for a story: Iâve had this idea for a while where Jeff never got caught and is an even worse version of himself than he was circa the pilot. And he somehow meets a few (maybe all?) of the study group only they donât make him a better person so much as he manipulates them into being part of his life as he unwantingly grows attached to each of them. Itâs kind of dark for a Community fic, not counting some of the darkest timeline fics, but the idea entered my head one day and has been living rent free there ever sense.
Unpopular opinion: Its mostly unpopular among Jeff/Annie shippers, but I rather like how the Jeff/Britta storyline played out. It makes sense to me that they became friends with benefits and that the sexual tension between them faded as they got to know each other on a deeper level since they were incompatible. Plus, I really like their friendship.
Favorite relationship: I really loved his and Abedâs dynamic at the beginning of the series, but for the bulk of the show itâs a tie between him and Annie (romantic) and him and Britta (platonic)
Favorite headcanon: I fully believe Jeff is demiromantic. Its why he doesnât think romantic love is real, he so rarely experiences it and only after getting close to someone, something he actively avoids doing, and why he figured that having a friend he gets along with and is sexually attracted to is all that was needed for a romantic relationship.
Annie Edison
First impression: Mainly I just remember not liking her crush on Troy in the first season, lol. Iâve never been that into ships where one side is super obvious and kind of desperate while the other is oblivious and/or sees them as just friends. I was really proud of her when she decided to not let Troy use her grandmotherâs blanket (which is coincidentally also the episode I started to ship her and Jeff, albeit mildly at the time) and their friendship later on was wonderful.
Impression now: Sheâs one of my favorite characters on the show, although on Community I love them all so thatâs not saying much, lol. Troy says it best when he says that Annie expects everyone to be better than they are and for herself to be better than everyone.
Favorite moment: I canât just pick one moment, grr. Fine, the first thing that popped into my head was Annie saying the line about âa C? Why donât I just get pregnant at a gas station?!â or something like that. Just her absolute insistence that anything less than perfection in herself is some kind of a epic failure in life is just amusing to me.
Idea for a story: I donât think I really have any off the top of my head that arenât Community as a whole fics. Iâd love to write an AU for the show someday, it lends itself to the concept so well that just about any sort of AU would do. An I still have the FDtD crossover fic that is sitting all messy in my wip folder.
Unpopular opinion: I donât really care where they went with her character in seasons five and six (I particularly donât like how it was played for laughs that she started taking pills again between seasons 4 and 5). Her storylines are mostly fine, but I prefer the way her character went in the seasons that came before.
Favorite relationship: I was trying to think of someone besides Jeff, but even not looking at them as a ship I really did love their dynamic throughout the show.Â
Favorite headcanon: Annieâs parents where the ones who got her hooked on Adderall, telling her what to say to her doctor to get a prescription or maybe bringing home a bottle themselves, so that she could keep up her perfect grades and do all the right afterschool activities to get into an Ivy League school and make them proud. They were mostly embarrassed that Annie âcouldnât handle itâ and tried to quit, saying she needed to try harder and âreally, Annie, stop being so dramaticâ when she ODâd.

Books & Poems I love
Hello, I am just dumping my favourite books and poems here because I like them and I want people to read them too bcs they're cool. Disclaimer: I haven't read some of these books in a REALLY long time, so the explanations might be a bit off since this is mostly what I remember from when I had read them. All will be under the cut and I hope someone out there finds these as enjoyable as I do!
Books
1. Huntress by Malinda Lo
Nature is out of balance in the human world. The sun hasnât shone in years, and crops are failing. Worse yet, strange and hostile creatures have begun to appear. The peopleâs survival hangs in the balance.
To solve the crisis, the oracle stones are cast, and Kaede and Taisin, two seventeen-year-old girls, are picked to go on a dangerous and unheard-of journey to Tanlili, the city of the Fairy Queen. Taisin is a sage, thrumming with magic, and Kaede is of the earth, without a speck of the otherworldly. And yet the two girlsâ destinies are drawn together during the mission. As members of their party succumb to unearthly attacks and fairy tricks, the two come to rely on each other and even begin to fall in love. But the Kingdom needs only one huntress to save it, and what it takes could tear Kaede and Taisin apart forever.
I cannot express how much I adore this book. It's so well-written and the entire book feels like such an adventure to read. I have to warn everyone who will read this that it is quite violent. I also love the WLW inclusion which is carried throughout the story. It's also mentioned in the beginning that Kaede does not want to marry a prince because she could never marry a man. It's filled with lots of romance and it's fantasy because I'm a sucker for fantasy reads.
My sister had bought this book for me after I had lost my first copy and my cat peed on my second copy. The first time, I had bought it from a Big Bad Wolf sale in about 2014. The second, I ordered it through Kinokuniya, but I'm pretty sure you can get it off of Amazon as well.
2. Teardrop by Lauren Kate
Never, ever cry . . .
Seventeen-year-old Eureka won't let anyone close enough to feel her pain. After her mother was killed in a freak accident, the things she used to love hold no meaning. She wants to escape, but one thing holds her back: Ander, the boy who is everywhere she goes, whose turquoise eyes are like the ocean.
And then Eureka uncovers an ancient tale of romance and heartbreak, about a girl who cried an entire continent into the sea. Suddenly her mother's death and Ander's appearance seem connected, and her life takes on dark undercurrents that don't make sense.
Can everything you love be washed away?
This is also a book that I've read multiple times. I've even read the sequel, Waterfall, but I don't think I actually got around to finishing it since I bought it right before my exams. Another love and fantasy novel, it covers a lot of grieving and pain that Eureka goes through after losing her mother and at one point, she actually wishes it was her that had died during the accident.
Her relationship with Ander is quite sudden since he just shows up out of nowhere and just happens to know practically everything about her. I, personally, enjoy this book out of the amount of angst that it's filled with. It's very well-written and I still have the first copy that I bought at the same Big Bad Wolf sale that I had gotten Huntress. I think I had gotten the sequal at Kinokuniya as well (?), but I'm not entirely sure because it's been a really long time.
3. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal, but The Reestablishment has plans for her. Plans to use her as a weapon. But Juliette has plans of her own. After a lifetime without freedom, she's finally discovering a strength to fight back for the very first time--and to find a future with the one boy she thought she's lost forever.
Another very angsty book. It centres around Juliette, a girl who, for some reason, kills everyone she touches. It's also written in First POV and in the format of a journal. It feels more personal because some of the lines are striked through to show a thought that Juliette had in the moment of writing that she decided to replace with a different approach instead.
The beginning is basically Juliette being locked away in some sort of a prison because of her 'gift' and she writes to keep herself from going crazy, but then one day some guy is put into the same cell as her. It's another romance novel and also a kind of superhero novel It also gets pretty... ahem... seggsy... at one point, but it's a good read.
I've read the entire series aside from Restore Me. I have it, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Shatter Me is also from the same Big Bad Wolf sale as the other two lol. Juliette is also trapped in a love triangle at one point, but I won't get into it. It also gets a bit violent, but slightly less graphic than Huntress is and is also another 'self-discover' kinda book. (can you see a theme here that I read lol)
4. Winter's End by Jean-Claude Mourlevat
Four teenagers escape from their prison-like boarding schools to take up the fight against the tyrannical government that murdered their parents fifteen years earlier. But only three of the friends make it safely to Jahn's restaurant, the headquarters of a secret resistance movement, where they discover the astonishing power that one voice can have in the fight for freedom.
As the battle rages, the three friends are in a race against time to save their companion, who has been forced to participate in a deadly, ancient game for the amusement of his captors. Will this new generation prevail, or are they destined to meet the same grisly fate as their parents?
This is also extremely angsty. It's also pretty violent as well, so that's a warning for whoever will read this. Once again, well-written, nice flow to the story and I just really like this book. There's a lot of uncovering in the book that makes you go HUH because the four students end up uncovering a lot about their government and the secrets that involve the four of them.
It has a very heavy dark tone to it, which I really enjoy. It's a bit different from the other three which is less fantasy and more of a dystopian book. It's a very heroic, determination feeling that follows the students as they journey throughout the book. Also something that follows the students are a group of dog-men... things... that I'm pretty sure I actually had small nightmares imagining when I had read this in around 2013 or 2014.
Poems
Disclaimer: Half of these were poems I did essays on in high school aside from L. These are my illustrations of it and they're the ones that stood out to me when I had first read them.
1. Daffodils by William Wordsworth
I read this in high school when I was taking English Literature. It's a poem that Wordsworth wrote after his wife had passed away. I love the way it's written and William Wordsworth is one of my favourite poets. It's filled with the feeling of being lost and rediscovering the joys of the small things in life. There's a lot of imagery that refers to the flower, daffodil, and overall, it's just a a very soft themed poem.
I think the reason this poem stood out to me was because I was feeling a bit lost at the time I read it (the end of highschool) and I was desperately trying to find something I could relate to in some way.
2. Winter by Andrew Young
Another one that contains a lot of imagery. It's a poem about the beauty of Winter and how, while it's seen as a dark and gloomy season, it has hidden beauties that you can see if you're able to look past the initial image of it.
This poem in particular, I'm pretty sure I have a soft spot for in my heart mainly because of the soft spot I have for Winter in general.
3. London by William Blake
This is a more dark toned poem. It covers what old London used to be like with the raging poverty at the time. A lot of child labour and sex workers that would struggle with making money when they would accidentally get pregnant.
It's quite a depressing poem that I like because of the dark undertone and I, personally, really enjoy William Blake's works.
4. L by Bernice Chauly
L is a poem about how her daughter had cut her hair right after going to the hairdressers. While Chauly's daughter is crying when she yells at her, Chauly is reminded of when she had done something similar when she had just turned five years old. She thinks back to it and remembers that, at the time, all she wanted was to see her late father.
This is also more heavy set and it makes me think of the way children must feel when they lose their parents at such young ages.

foolâs gold (1/1)
Summary:Â Beca finds herself in Colorado bidding on a date with one Chloe Beale. Accidentally, of course. Besides, itâs for charity. Set after PP3.
Word count:Â 4,216
Rating: T
Read below or on AO3.
Beca finds out about it accidentally. A total accident wherein she did not intend to find out this information. She had been perusing the Bellas groupchat, a chat which she had been slightly too busy to participate in recently, when something caught her eye.
Chloeâs name plus the word âdateâ. It had taken a few tries and a few shaky swipes of her finger before she figures out that Chloe is participating in some charity event.
Beca hesitates at first, about to type out a message to Chloe right in the groupchat, but she quickly switches over to her private conversation with Chloe and winces when she realizes that her and Chloe havenât really kept up an ongoing text conversation (and hardly any phone calls) over the past few months.
Beca sighs, flipping back to the groupchat and hoping against hope that somebody elseâprobably Aubrey or Floâwill ask Chloe about it.
Flo F. What kind of charity is it?
Chloe Every year, the senior vet students run some kind of fundraiser. This year it's for research. In the past, this auction thing has been a huge hit!!
Fat Amy So youâre selling your body? Nothing wrong with that of course.
Chloe No, Iâm justâŠauctioning off a date.
Beca puts her phone down slowly.
Had three and a half years really flown by that quickly? Chloe was almost done with veterinary school and Beca felt like she was still struggling to stay afloat herself.
Well, that was a little untrue. Six Billboard Top 100 hits, a Grammy nomination, a North American tour with an international tour on its way, her first album had gone platinum with the second hot on its heelsâ
Itâs just that Chloe Beale had always seemed so wholly unattainable even with everything that had transpired between them. And Beca wasnât completely stupid, she knew some of this was her own fault, but life just came at her too fucking fast.
(This being the whole âwe definitely have feelings for each other but we are also definitely not doing anything about it because one of us is in Colorado and the other is in California sometimes but not alwaysâ thing. God, that always knocked the wind out of Beca. In any case, it had been one weekend of Chloe visiting Los Angeles and a drunken kiss that led to a little more, but nothing really, then an unspoken decision to never speak about it again.
Yeah. This.)
â â â â âÂ
It takes Beca another two hours to finally message Chloe and she almost has a heart attack when she pulls up their conversation.
Chloeâs last sweet dreams! xo stares back at her accusingly.Â
Beca So, a date huh?
She groans.Â
Yes, obviously a date. Aubrey already asked for more details an hour ago and the groupchat had long moved on.
Chloeâs reply is nearly instantaneous.
Chloe ??Â
Beca The whole auction thing you know for charityÂ
Chloe oh haha, yeah. Itâll be nothing. Just some rich student with too much to spend. I donât have my hopes up or anything.
But if Chloe could have her hopes for somebody in particularâŠBecaâs fingers tap anxiously on the edge of her table as she stares back at Chloeâs innocent-enough message.
Beca oh, well fingers crossed lol
Chloe yeah.
Beca winces at the one-word response, telling herself not to read too much into itâit doesnât mean anything, theyâre fine, theyâre fine, theyâre fineâ
 Chloe I miss you
She sighs in relief.
Beca miss you too chlo
â â â â â
âYou didnât ask her out yet?â is Theoâs confused inquiry. âWait, you werenât dating already?â
âJustâjust look up flights to Colorado.â
âIâm not your assistant, just in case you forgot.â
âI know, but Jeffâs on the fritz today and I donât need another snide remark from him.â
âSnide remark? About what?â
ââŠabout Chloe.â
âAh.â
 â â â â âÂ
Beca isnât sure how she ends up here, but she ends up doing some casual research about this supposed senior tradition at CSUâs veterinary college and it ends up being more of a thing than Beca originally expects. Like a super serious thing where people buy tickets to attend.Â
All proceeds go to the National Animal Disease Center and the Animal Welfare Institute. Tickets at the door will be $55.
Beca stares at the long list of details and scrolls for an embarrassing amount of time until she finds a list of âAuction Participantsâ. She exhales noisily through her nose when she finds Chloeâs name, surprised to see separate profiles attached to all the students participating.
Chloe Beale, Rising 4th Year Veterinary Student, DVM Candidate
Chloe enjoys singing and morning runs. She will probably fight you over whether the CSU Rams could hold up against the Barden University Knights. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at Larimer Humane Society as well as the CSU Zoo. You might have seen her running a few weekend educational programs for children 10 and under.
PS. Sheâs single!
Beca isnât sure what grates on her more, the fact that the description doesnât say anything about how Chloe hums her favorite songs when she gets nervous, or how Chloeâs hair grows at least a shade and a half lighter during the summer, orâor how Chloe can talk at length about nearly anything if she thinks itâs something that another person will find interesting. She is selfless and beautiful inside and out.Â
And that last line. Becaâs fist clenches. She isnât sure why it annoys her so much, but she hates the idea of this auction gimmick even if she knows instinctively that it is all in good fun and Chloe genuinely wouldnât have consented to it if she didnât believe in it or trust everybody who would be participating. Still, maybe Beca doesnât want Chloe toâŠbe single.
Her brow furrows at that last tapered-off thought.
To distract herself, she taps Theoâs number into her phone and waits with bated breath.
âHello?â
âDid you book the ticket yet?â she asks in lieu of greeting.
Sheâll let his amused chuckle slide this once.
 â â â â âÂ
So maybe it isnât really an accident.
Sheâs in Fort Collins, Colorado, on a beautiful but pretty damn chilly campus. Beca pulls her windbreaker tighter around herself and tugs her scarf up over her mouth and nose. She hasnât been recognized yet, but she has a suspicion that there have been two young ladies following her, but she canât be certain.
Though her fame is manageable, it still flares up unexpectedly and at inopportune times.
Like the last time she had visited Chloe on campus and they had spent the weekend eating at Chloeâs favorite spots and drinking cheap wine until they were laughing and leaning heavily against each other. Beca had loved the scent of Chloeâs shampoo as it wafted up from where Chloe had her head pressed against Becaâs shoulder and neck, her giggles tapering off into nothing. Back then, they hadnât kissed yetâBeca was still recovering from the sting of seeing Chloe kiss Chicago even though it had happened months prior, but nothing had ever transpired.
And for a moment, when Chloe lifted her head off Becaâs shoulder, Beca had thought Chloe was going to kiss her. And she wouldnât have minded, not at all. It had been something she had been thinking about for so long that Becaâs heart began to pound in anticipation. Then Chloeâs roommate had let herself into the apartment despite Chloeâs insistence they were going to be alone and she had recognized Beca surprisingly quick considering Beca had only one or two viral music videos released at the time. Beca hadnïżœïżœt been sure, but Chloe had looked supremely disappointed.
Focusing back on the present, Beca gazes at the familiar, yet unfamiliar campus. She had made sure earlier that there hadnât been a completely strict dress code for the event and opts for a loose wool sweater and nice jeans (a memory of Chloeâs fleeting âthose jeans make your ass look goodâ passes through her mind, but she pays it no mind). She buys a lanyard with the CSU name and mascot emblazoned on it. Just to add to the look.
She finds the student center soon enough. Happy to be out of the chill for a moment, Beca pulls her scarf down but leaves her toque on, keeping it tight over her eyebrows.
âHey,â a voice calls instantly and Beca jumps because for a moment, it sounds like Chloe. But that would be impossible, sheâs barely been there five secondsâ âI know you, youâre Chloeâs friend, right?â
Beca turns to see young man, around her age, smiling in a completely nonthreatening manner. She vaguely recognizes him from some of Chloeâs social media posts, but she canât quite place his name. âHi,â she says instead.
âDid Chloe invite you to this?â he asks, sounding entirely too amused for Becaâs liking.
âUhâŠâ Beca isnât sure what the better answer would beâyes, Chloe invited poor hapless Beca Mitchell to watch her get auctioned off and alternatively the implication that Chloe would need some pull from somebody like Beca which is dumb because despite the crappy dating profile on the website, Chloe needs no help at all; or no, Beca invited herself because sheâs there on a mission. âHm,â she says evasively instead. âSorry, what was your name again?â
âBenjamin, but you can call meââ
Beca smiles. âBen,â she finishes. Itâs cute how much he reminds her of Benji. âChloe posts about you a lot.â
âYeah, we kind ofâŠâ he laughs, pushing up his glasses. âBonded, I guess. Sheâs been a good friend. Helped set me up with my boyfriend.â He nods his head towards the door. âWant to come sit with us? Weâre mainly here for the show and the food. Do you have your ticket?â
Beca blushes but tamps it down as best as she can. âUh no, I was gonna buy at the door.â
He grins again, but says nothing about that. âOkay, weâll see you inside. Weâre kind of near the back. Turn left when you get in.â
 â â â â âÂ
The emcee is fairly decent and Beca cracks a laugh at a few jokes. She has a pretty good view of the stage and she feels comfortable enough sitting near Chloeâs friends. They seem to take a shine to her and teasingly press an auction paddle into her hands.
âFor an emergency,â Ben says, mirth in his eyes. And something akin to knowing, as if he knows something Beca doesnât. She tries to scowl at him, but she misses that opportunity because Chloe is being walked on stage looking likeâ
âOh,â Beca murmurs, blushing when she can feel eyes on her. There is no way Chloe can see her in the crowd because sheâs sure the spotlight is bright enough based on Chloeâs squint and embarrassed smile. But otherwise, Chloe looks stunning, wearing a pretty blue sundress and white doctorâs coat. Beca blinks back the unexpected surge of emotionânot quite tears, but her eyes do sting a littleâthat she gets upon seeing Chloe in person for the first time in at least a year.
God, she had gone a whole year without seeing Chloeâs faceâwithout having Chloeâs hands to hold and Chloeâs arms around her.
She never wants to do that again. She never wants to be apart from Chloe for that long, too afraid of her own feelings to push for something she knows Chloe wants as well. She had seen it in Chloeâs eyes over the past decade and more of knowing her. Chloe, her best friend and confidanteâthe person who most got on her nerves but also knew how to put her back together in more ways than oneâ
âWeâll start the bidding at fifty dollars! Ten-dollar interval minimum, please and thank you.â
Thereâs some cheering and laughter in the crowd from a group near the front. Chloe blushes again under the spotlight, but she flips off the group whom Beca assumes consists of people Chloe knows well enough.
âThatâs kind of low,â Beca comments.
âYou should bid,â Vlad, Benâs boyfriend, suggests.
âNo, Iâm just here for support,â Beca replies distractedly as another person bids up to $100. Becaâs fingers tighten momentarily around the paddle before she relaxes and wills herself to scan the crowd as nonchalantly as possible. But before she can really settle downâ
âTwo hundred!â
Itâs arguably the biggest jump Beca has heard over the last few auctions and the murmur that rushes through the crowd indicates that they think itâs something worthwhile as well.
Beca tries not to think about how she made two-hundred dollars in the first minuteâprobably lessâof releasing her second single on Spotify.
âTwo-fifty,â a female voice calls out, distinctly confident and self-assured. Beca notes that the blush on Chloeâs face is a little different now, this time a little shy and demure like she knows that person and is touched by the gesture.
âWho is that?â Beca asks quickly.
âOh, I think that was Amelia,â Vlad says when he notices that his boyfriend is not responding. âSheâs in Chloeâs cohort.â
But who is she, Beca wants to demand further.
âTwo-seventy,â the same male voice from earlier counters, though with a tinge of hesitation.
âThree hundred,â âAmeliaâ counters.
A pause. âThree-twenty.â
âFour-fifty.â Without hesitation. An excited murmur ripples through the crowd. Chloeâs hands are now covering her face, but Beca sees that sheâs smiling ever so slightly.
âShe likes her,â Ben says simply.
âWho likes who.â Beca considers this a very important distinction.
âAmelia likes Chloe.â
âAnd does Chloe like Amelia?â
âTheyâre friends.â He stares at Beca pointedly. âLike you guys are friends, right? So whatâs a little competition.â
âBut Chloe and I areâweâreââ
Beca finds she has no real justification, no real insight to offer because she and Chloe have been teetering on that edge of almost for so long that she has forgotten what it meant when competition came along.
Until Chicago.
And before that, for Chloe, Jesse, but Beca had been nearly completely blind to it.
And now this.
Becaâs hand is rising before she can stop herself. Her brain seems to shut down completelyâthe rational part at leastâas her heart grabs the reins. Itâs stupid, itâs archaic, but this is for Chloe (almost literally, but Beca will never succumb to the belief that this is any valid way to date somebody). âSeven hundred,â she calls out. Her eyes widen when heads swivel to her and she quickly ducks, pulling her scarf back up to her nose and mouth. She waves her paddle above her head, too embarrassed to see whether Chloeâs eyes are scanning the crowd for her.
âHoly shit,â Ben mutters.
âEight hundred,â Amelia counters somewhere in the distance, but suddenly Becaâs ears are roaring with the oddest soundâlike a chorus of fucking angels or something.
âOh my God, the animals are lucky today,â somebody mutters somewhere to Becaâs left.
âA thousand,â Beca counters.
âUmââ Ben seems to think better of it and clamps his mouth shut, though he looks like he might laugh, or worse, smile at Beca. God.
âA thousaââ
Becaâs had it. âTwo thousand!â
The shocked silence that follows is enough to tell Beca that sheâs completely lost it.
(But she lost it long agoâsomewhere between agreeing to join an all-female acapella group when she was eighteen because of that girl with blue eyes and a killer voice and that chaotic year that followed, somehow ending with her kissing the wrong person at the end of it all. No more of that.)
âUm,â the auctioneer has apparently lost all capabilities of auctioneering. âIâŠguessâŠ? Sold toââ He peers over the crowd. âYou?â he asks again, still unsure. âFor two thousand dollars.â
Beca quickly presses the paddle into Benâs hands and sinks lower in her seat, distinctly avoiding all eye contact. Those closest to her finally seem to catch on and she catches the faintest hint of whispers.
âIs thatâŠ?â
âNo fucking way.â
âGod, I knew Beale was lying when she said they werenât hooking up.â
Beca tries not to think about any of that, suddenly very interested in the patterns on the carpeted floor.
 â â â â âÂ
Beca i did something really stupid
Aubrey Yes, the auction was livestreamed. Chloe sent me a link.
Beca holy fuck could you see me???
Aubrey No, but thank you for confirming. Two thousand dollars, Beca Mitchell.
Beca is about to type something incredibly cheesy in response to the mild snark in Aubreyâs text, but she is distracted by Benâs shadow appearing over her.
âHey, so uh, you have to actually meet Chloe backstage. To set up the details and stuff. And theyâre going to need a check or some other form of payment? For that two thousand dollars you just dropped?â
âDo they accept Amex,â Beca deadpans.
âYes, I believe so. So now that thatâs covered, shall we?â He holds out an arm for Beca.
Beca sighs and clicks off her phone, decidedly ignoring the very long paragraph of text Aubrey just sent to her (she caught words like âmy best friendâ and âhurt herâ and âbear trapâ so she figures thatâs something she can laugh or cry over when she is inevitably sent back on a plane to Los Angeles).
âDoes she know itâs me?â Beca finally asks.
âI honestly donât know. Youâre kind of short and I donât think she could actually see you.â
âOh, thatâs good,â Beca says, feeling lightheaded.
âItâs going to be fine.â
âYeah, of course, why wouldnât it be? Weâre friends. Weâve done stupid shit before. She stayed back three years to just be part of an acapella group.â And to be with you, an annoying voice sounds in her head.
Oh, that was actually Ben. Who sounded eerily like Aubrey in that moment. Beca steps away from him.
He stares at her pointedly, pointing at the door.
Fuck, Beca thinks.
It is a simple study room and when Beca opens it, she isnât expecting the space to be so small and so brightly lit. She winces immediately and nearly steps back out, but Chloeâs gasp is enough to keep her rooted to the spot.
âBeca,â Chloe squeaks. âWhat the fuâwhat are you doing here?â
âHi,â Beca says, waving. Chloe continues to gape at her. âHi?â Beca tries again.
Before she realizes whatâs happening, Chloe is flying towards her and wrapping her arms so tightly around Beca that all the air rushes out of her in one fell swoop. She has enough sense to grip tightly at the back of Chloeâs coat, her fingers scrabbling on the thick, coarse fabric until they settle easily into each other like no time had passed before.
Beca sighsâliterally sighsâlike a disgusting teenager in love and she kind of thinks Chloe does the same before Chloe is pulling back and punching her in the arm oncee sheâs at armâs length.
âOw! What the hell?â
âYou seriously paid two thousand dollars?â
Oh right, that happened and was still happening.
âIt was an accident,â Beca says instinctively and defensively.
âYou raised the price by a thousand dollars accidentally,â Chloe clarifies.
âDonâtâdonât call it a price, like youâreâŠâ Beca gestures uncomfortably. âLike youâre on sale or something. And I totally believe itâs your right to do what you want with your body and stuff because you should be allowed to have all that agency andââ
âWow, Beca slow down.â Chloe grins affectionately. âNobodyâs doing anything with my body, not without my permission anyway. These things usually just end in a quick dinner or like. Laser tag or something. Itâs never that serious.â
âI knew that,â Beca says quickly, trying to ignore her own blush at Chloeâs choice of words. âI justâŠI wanted to beâŠI wanted to,â she takes a steadying breath, âgo on a date with you. And be your girlfriend. And do couple-y things. Because weâd be datingâŠas girlfriends.â
âYou did?â Chloe asks quietly and so delicately that Becaâs breath catches. She tries to maintain eye contact as best as she can.
The air around them feels so heavy. âSo much.â
âSo youâŠâ Chloeâs brow furrows. âCame to Colorado and paid two thousand dollars to go on a date with me? And Iâm assuming you flewâŠso even more than two thousand dollars.â
âIâŠit sounds weird. I know. Iâm weird. I justââ Beca heaves a breath. âI panicked, okay? I had this crazy vision of you ending up with somebodyâŠwith somebody else. That wasnât me. And that sounds crazy jealous and crazy possessive and I have no right, but Iâve been thinking about you so much and I donât know that Iâve ever really stopped thinking about you since that first day at the activities fair that entire fucking lifetime ago.â Beca feels winded suddenly and quickly looks up at Chloe with desperation. âI should have justâŠâ she trails off, unsure.
She should have never let Chloe slip away the first time. Then the second time when she had the chance. When Chloe met her in the middle so many times before.
âBeca,â Chloe whispers, pulling her out of her swirling thoughts. âItâsâŠâ She struggles to think of a word for a moment. âItâs okay. Iâm not mad, I promise. Itâs justâŠa lot.â
âIâm just so sorry because it seems like Iâm always likeâŠjust one step off from you. And I just want to be on the same page. I want to be what you deserve.â
âMe too,â Chloe replies, reaching forward to take Becaâs hand. She doesnât hold Becaâs hand however, opting instead to gently grip her wrist, her thumb beginning to trace soothing circles along her wristbone. âI want to be what you deserve too.â
Beca swallows the immediate protest. She lets it die in her throat because she knows Chloe is rightâthat they have so much to work on. But they can do it together.
âThings have been weird between us, havenât they?â Beca asks quietly. She fixes her gaze on the âSince you came to visit me. And weâŠâ she swallows. âWe kissed.â
âWe did,â Chloe murmurs.
âAnd have things been weird?â Beca presses.
âA little,â Chloe admits after a pause. âBut things have always been a little weird between us.â A small smile slips across her lips as she uses her free hand to tilt Becaâs chin up so their gazes meet once more. âBut Iâve liked that.â
âYou have?â
Chloe shrugs. âKind of.â
âWeâŠwe donât have to go on this date, you know?â Beca clarifies, eyes flicking between Chloeâs eyes and her lips frantically. Chloe draws closer. âWeâŠâ Becaâs voice cracks. âDonât have to do anything you donât want to do.â
âWhat do you want to do?â Chloe asks, her finger still tracing the underside of Becaâs jaw and the side of her neck.
Becaâs eyes flutter shut. âI want to kiss you again. If thatâs okay.â
âDo youâŠâ Chloeâs breath is warm against Becaâs mouth as she moves closer still. âDo youâŠhave another thousand dollars?â
Becaâs eyes would fly open if she werenât completely lost in the sensation of both of Chloeâs hands coming up to tangle into her hair. She moans at the sensation before she can help herself and immediately closes the distance between them, their lips bumping uncomfortably for a second before they settle into a somewhat familiar rhythm. Just like that, with a hint of banter and the way their touches soothe each other, they settle back into familiarityâback into what made them work all those years ago.
Instantly, Chloeâs body seems to press into hers with ease. Chloeâs head tilts and her mouth parts and Beca just about loses her mind. She reaches up to grab Chloeâs shoulders with difficulty before she moves her hands down to hold Chloeâs waist while subtly tugging her closer. Chloe sighs a little into the kiss before she pulls back with Becaâs lower lip trapped between her teeth for a brief moment.
Beca shudders. âUnfair,â she murmurs, momentarily forgetting her own name. Chloeâs name. Amelia. Ben.
There is nothing but this moment, with Becaâs heart threatening to burst from nerves and excitement and passion and sheer joy at the feeling of having the woman she loves in her arms once more.
âNever wait that long to ask me out again,â Chloe teases, pressing her forehead against Becaâs. âThis was likeâŠweirdly romantic, but I donât need you to drop two thousand dollars. No matter how rich you are, miss Grammy nominee.â
Beca tilts her head to steal another kiss. âAgain? As in weâre going to have multiple dates.â
âIf you play your cards right.â Chloeâs nose brushes against Becaâs lightly. âNot your fancy credit card though.â
âOh,â Beca says because Chloeâs hands are tugging through her hair again and somehow her toque is on the floor and theyâre kissing again.
She could get used to this.
But of course:
âWait âtil I tell the girls you paid two thousand dollars to go on a date with me.â She doesn't need to sound so smug, but Beca would be remiss if she didn't acknowledge how hot Chloe sounds saying that.
It isnât an accident that Beca shuts her up with a kiss.

Continuing my reactions to Avatar: The Last Airbender.Â
This post is about Book 2. See my overall impressions and thoughts on Book 1 here.
Quick/General Thoughts
Uhhh pretty wild there is both a solar eclipse and a super comet happening in the same summer⊠anyways!!!
Ba Sing Se was so messed up omg
Aang
SMH more adults trying to take advantage of Aang. I was furious with the Earth Kingdom general who tried to force Aang to fight the Fire Lord well before he was ready. Clearly he was not ready! And then the audacity for him to attack Aang and then Katara to provoke the Avatar state was whole levels of messed up.Â
The Great Appa Kidnapping: Yeah, so, as soon as the sand traders took him, I was like, âOh no. Iâve heard about this. They are going to be in trouble!â But even then I didnât know it stretched out over so many episodes. These episodes broke my heart! Aangâs complete distress at having lost Appa. Then the episode from Appaâs POV. Poor Appa! He goes through so much. Itâs devastating. And then both Appa and Aang both dream of how they originally met each other? UNFAIR. CRUEL. HOW DARE THE CREATORS DO THIS TO ME. (Iâm being facetious I love it I live for this kind of drama this is how i express they were doing good storytelling)
The whole âfinal chakraâ being about letting go of attachments⊠hmm that felt VERY Star Wars of them⊠Filoni is this your doing? (Although actually I donât remember seeing his name on any Book 2 episodes.)
Sokka
My fave continues to be the long-suffering Sokka, just trying to get his family to Omashu, it shouldnât be this hard!!! This was literally what I wrote at the time of watching âChapter Two: The Cave of Two Lovers,â and OH LITTLE DID I KNOW!!! [cut to Book 3⊠lmao⊠anyways]
Sokka making a map to help keep track of the maze-like cave/tunnel is actually really clever. I canât believe people think heâs stupid. I mean, sure, it didnât end up working, but thatâs because the cave was magic or whatever, and that is beyond his control!
Side note, but lol at Sokkaâs purchases and love for shopping. His ridiculous belt! How excited he was that it matched his bag!
Second side note, I was pretty excited to see that gif where Sokka is making that âIâm watching youâ gesture and then goes âWater tribe!â
Katara
Yeah, notice how I donât have much to say about Katara? Itâs not that I donât like her or that I donât think sheâs interesting, but. I just donât really have a lot to say about her.Â
I was amused by how she handled those bullies. My impression before I started watching was that she was going to be this like, pure and GoodTM character, but she definitely has her flaws and that is better.
I really liked the scene where she is able to calm Aang down while heâs in the Avatar state. There was good build up to that, showing her worry every time he entered it and her awareness of the fact that he only ever enters it when feeling upset. The fact that she was able to do that clearly Meant Something. So again, I suppose, I really feel up to this point that the show is very much like âAang/Katara Endgame!â it felt very obvious to me. And I knew before starting the show that Zuko and Katara are a thing â but Aang and Katara is just so heavy handed that it was impossible for me to ship them with anyone else. They were just foundational to the show. Like it always felt like a foregone conclusion to me, almost as if they were established from the beginning although they obviously werenât.
Toph
I spent like, the second half of Book 1 thinking âWHEN TOPH WHEN TOPH!â Imagine my ire that she still isnât around for the first five episodes of Book 2, which is titled âEARTHâ my goodness.
But OH was I delighted by âChapter 6: The Blind Banditâ!!! I loved her intro, I loved how Aang is just immediately in awe of her skills when he sees her. He knows sheâs exactly the teacher heâs been waiting for. âShe waited and listened!â he says. Yes. I love it. (But also, lol at Sokka booing Aang.) Despite this, Aang really does not handle that first interaction very well!
So frustrating how her parents were treating her. âSheâs fragile and helpless!â what a thing to say about your daughter. [Also you literally named her âtoughâ?!] And he is basically going to imprison her, wtf. & how do you get off saying âthe avatar is no longer welcome hereâ?! smh children whose parents try to âcontrolâ their kids always end up being the most rebellious.
I was amused that âmy dad changed his mindâ apparently was a popular lie daughters use on this show. *facepalm*
I liked the contrast between how Toph wanted to teach Aang and how Katara thought he should be taught! That was interesting. And yeah, Toph certainly lives up to her name.Â
Zuko & Iroh
Spent a good portion of the early part of this season wondering how Zuko and Iroh could possibly be related to the awful Fire Lord (and Azula for that matter â jeez she is nuts!), and longing to know what happened to Zukoâs mom. (Obviously that would be answered soon!)
Knowing that Zuko eventually joins the Aang crew, but also remembering that I never saw Iroh with them, made me SEVERELY worried that something terrible would happen to Iroh. And I spent the entire rest of the series worrying about that. Uh, especially since, apparently Iroh is hopeless at Survival 101. Honestly that was surprising to me.Â
Zuko deciding they needed to split up was devastating!!! No!!! I loved the adventures of Zuko & Iroh!! He said, âThere's no reason for us to stick together,â and I was like, âYes there is you idiot! Because youâre family and you love each other!!!â I was so sad. I mean, also Iroh is currently the only person who likes Zuko, so, you know, that might be a good reason to stay with him. Just a thought.Â
The last thing Zuko needs is to be alone, that will NOT be good for his issues. And lo and behold, look! Immediately, heâs struggling on his own. But I did like that episode (âChapter 7: Zuko Aloneâ) because we get to see Zukoâs mom! (Uh, did she have a name?) Turtle ducks are so cute.
âEverything Iâve done Iâve done to protect you.â THIS. SLAYED. ME!!!!!! I mean, yâall know Rogue One is my jam so this parallel with Zukoâs mom and Galen Erso????? I lost it. I just lost it. Plus, though it isnât confirmed until later, we can tell sheâs sacrificing herself to save Zuko and just. (A) what a completely messed up family, but (B) MY HEART. SHE BETTER BE ALIVE is all Iâm saying.
Interesting side note: they never show Ozaiâs face in the early seasons.Â
If you assumed that I was delighted to see Iroh has been tailing Zuko this whole time, youâd be correct. I had hoped that was the case and was very glad it was. Although *facepalm* again at Zuko. I suppose he had no way of knowing Katara had healing powers but it was so frustrating knowing if he had just listened to them for one minute they could have helped Iroh after Azula blasted him. At least he made him tea and nursed him back to health.Â
If the evil advisor of Ba Sing Se had files on everyone and knew everything that went on⊠I mean⊠did he know about Iroh and Zuko?Â
I didnât jot down any notes about this at the time, BUT. Man. Did I ADORE Zuko and Irohâs adventures in Ba Sing Se. I mean it was a nice relief from all the other crazy stuff happening. (Not happy to see Jet though. Ugh.)Â
Finally, though, Zukoâs betrayal at the very end of the season totally shocked me. Because of spoilers, I knew heâd join Aangâs crew, and so it was so confusing! And such a regression, I really didnât understand it and was very worried about what it would mean for his redemption arc â but more on that in the next post, donât want to get ahead.
Azula
Oh. Boy. Again, I knew she was going to be crazy, but I donât think I was prepared for just how messed up she is. âDo the tides command this ship. You said they would not allow usâŠâ Jeez that is pedantic in a very bizarre way and obviously not what was meant⊠Yikes.
Also, Azula is much better at finding Zuko than Zuko is at finding Aang. Just a stray observation.
âFather regrets your banishment. He wants you home.â [insert ITâs A TRAP gif here]
âIf the Earth Kingdom finds us, they'll have us killed. If the Fire Nation finds us, they'll turn us over to Azula. Earth kingdom it is.â Yeah, this line was hilarious but also sad. It really said a lot about Azula, and Zuko and Irohâs relationship with her.
Had no idea Azula had her own crew. It was incredibly clear that Ty Lee felt coerced to join her and didnât really want to, but that was less clear to me for Mai. Mainly seemed like Mai was bored with where she was and was just like âshrugs might as well do evil stuff.âÂ
I did know that a character named âMaiâ would eventually be Zukoâs love interest (and it is pretty heavily portrayed that she has a crush on him), so at this point, I was very much like, âHmm. This character is too apathetic and annoying, I donât want her to end up with Zuko!â Plus, the fact that her name was pronounced âMay,â (which was not how I thought âMaiâ was pronounced) and I knew Zuko would have a thing with a lady in a tea shop, I wasnât 100% sure Zuko/Mai were end game.Â
âSheâs crazy and she needs to go down.â I think Iroh said this. I just donât know what to say. Why is Azula the way she is? Thatâs never entirely clear to me. In some ways, itâs implied she was just Like That (in the flashback where mom is like âWhat is wrong with you?â) and perhaps sheâs just her fatherâs daughter. I donât need a reason, per se. Idk. I just donât know what to say to her. She clearly needs help.Â

Chapter 1
June 2003, Naples, Italy
Summer, the time of the year Giorno both loved and hated at the same time. Summer was great, mainly because he had summer vacation, allowing him to focus on running Passione during the next three months. However, he couldnât find the heat enjoyable in the slightest. With the burning sun out at 11 in the morning already, he was regretting his decision to personally visit his favourite restaurant to collect the protection money. Heck, Bruno himself offered to do so, and so did countless other members of the mafia. But for some reason, he denied their offers to perform the task and headed there himself. It wasnât like there was much danger anyways, few people knew the new don of Passione's face. He did however, bring along Sheila E. as his bodyguard, just to give Bruno peace of mind. The older man just wouldnât stop insisting he bring someone along for his protection.
He was about halfway to the restaurant when a blur of [H/C] flew right by him and into the alleyway the two happened to pass. Fortunately, the Don recovered quickly enough to see a girl, perhaps not much older than him, pull open a door from the wall and disappeared in a blink of an eye.
âA stand user?â He wondered to himself under his breath. His interest in the passing stand user did not go by Sheilaâs eyes as she tilted her head and looked up at the taller male.
âIs there anything you would need me to do, D- Giorno?â she asked, catching herself from addressing her boss by his title just in time. Giornoâs blue eyes shifted to the smaller female, and smiled gently.
âNot at the moment SheilaâŠPerhaps after we finish what we came here for, then we can look into thatâŠincident,â he said. The girl nodded and resumed walking towards the restaurant.
After an hour or so, the duo walked out of the restaurant, stomachs full from the early lunch they just had, and headed to the alleyway they last saw the [H/C] girl disappear in.
âSheila, I would like you to use your stand here, so we can figure out who that stand user was, or at least, their motives. Itâs been two years, but new stand users are always an asset,â the blonde said. Wordlessly, the bodyguard nodded her head and withdrew her stand, Voodoo Child. Immediately, the stand got to work, furiously punching the wall and ground hard enough that it began to crack open. After a few moments, lips formed from the cracks and began to speak.
âDamn it, when the hell is that darn geezer gonna bank in my pay?! I took out the guy just like he asked me to!â
âAh man, setting up house here is the worst ideaâŠItâs got the worst view ever! I can barely tell evening from day in the mansion.â
âUgh! Some assholes decided to spit in front of my doorstep! I swear if I catch them, Iâll beat them to death for it.â
Giorno held up his hand, and Sheila stopped the voices.
âWell, I wasnât sure what I was hoping to find out, but at the very least it doesnât seem like the user has left. Perhaps if we stay out here long enough, she should come out again. I would like to see how her stand works, it could be useful for the transportations team,â he said. Giorno then clapped his hands together and headed to leave the dim alleyway, his bodyguard trailing behind.
Upon reaching the Passione base, Giorno immediately called two men to keep watch over that particular alleyway, and to bring the stand user to him directly. It wasnât much, but he was glad he trusted his intuition to go out this afternoon. After all, if his men succeed in locating and retrieving the stand user, Passione could only benefit from it.
~~~~
It was past two in the morning when you finally finished your job; exterminating a mole in some big business you barely cared for. The CEO paid you big bucks for it, and that was what mattered. You found it amusing how willing the rich and powerful are to go to such dirty means to prevent their secrets from getting out. Now, you were on your way down a street of Naples, heading towards your temporary hideout. Sure, you could simply set up your house any where you want, but the alleyway you chose was near one of your favourite restaurants, which was convenient.
Just as you were approaching the dark alleyway, you froze. There, sitting on a wall, was a man clothed in black, almost unnoticeable for someone who wasnât trained to see in the dark. You backed up, holding your hands up in a fighting position, ready to defend yourself if necessary.
âWho are you and who sent you?â you demanded, trying to keep your voice level, as to not betray your feelings. Truth be told, you were nervous. Were you really that careless? Who in the world could have sent someone to catch you? Aside from those who related to those who were killed by your hands, you doubt you made many enemies. You were a paid hitman, and you always made sure to cover your tracks so people donât come after you. So far, no one has traced the assassinations back to you, so who?
The man spoke soon enough, âThe Don of Passione wants to recruit you. Consider this a personal invitation into the mafia. Lucky you, you donât even have to pass a test.â You raised an eyebrow.
The Don of Passione? The new one? Last you heard, Passione changed bosses and the one leading the gang currently was a young man who took over the position as Don when he was only a teenager.
âWhat the hell does a mafioso want with me? Does he even know who I am?â you asked. The man jumped down from his position and sighed.
âWho knows. What he does know however, is that you may have a pretty useful stand he could have use for. Iâm just carrying out orders. If you refuse to come with me, Iâm more than willing to use force,â he said, arms crossed. You swallowed. You really had been careless. You completely forgot that there were bound to be other stand users roaming streets of Napoli, and of all people to catch sight of you using your stand, it had to be freaking Passioneâs don?
You laughed, âIf he thinks Iâm going to comply so easily, he mustnât have very good judgment.â With that, you pulled out your gun. As if you were going to reveal your stand this easily. If the don was that serious about recruiting you, he better had sent one of his best.
âOh, sweetie, you really think that gun is going to protect you. If youâre a stand user, make it a stand fight!â yelled the man. From the corner of your eye, you saw light grey humanoid-ish shape seep into the pavement below you. Hurriedly you jumped back, your eyes scanning your surroundings, watching out for any signs of attack.
âItâs useless, miss. Once Penny Laneâs taken over any object, thereâs no way of avoiding it,â the man calmly spoke. Just then, the concrete under your feet began to warp, slowly melting into a liquid form. Panicking, you searched for higher ground. You had to get off the concrete fast, and uncover his standâs secret. Internally, you cursed. Of course, an offensive stand type user is sent to get you. Tonight, really wasnât your night. The ground was rapidly turning to liquid and so were other things around you. If you didnât get out of the standâs range fast, youâd be trapped in the concrete.
âWell? Will you draw out your stand or will you keep trying to run through liquid cement?â taunted the man. You cursed under your breath. Well, if the gang member had shown his, you might as well right? So, you turned around, as quickly as you could, as your pants were caked in cement, which was drying fast.
âIf I show you my stand youâll stop right?â you asked, holding up your hands in surrender. The man nodded and you took a deep breath, allowing the light golden spirit to appear beside you. Its eyes were a blank white, and it appeared to be wearing a butlerâs suit.
âThis is Soulâs Mansion. Itâs not a fighting type stand, so donât worry about me trying to attack you. Now, will you stop this?â you asked as you let your stand disappear. The man shrugged and recalled his stand back. Unfortunately for you, you had made an error in your request. You had asked him to turn the cement back into concrete but had forgotten that you would be stuck ankle deep in the pavement. Flushing an angry red, you panicked.
âW-wait! Turn it back into liquid, I need to get out of here!â
The man raised his eyebrow, âAnd let you escape? Of course not. You donât have to worry though; my partner will get you out of there. I hope to see you back at the base,â he called out as he turned to leave, leaving you stuck in the concrete. Just as he left, a woman of significant height walked towards you from the other side of the road.
âItâs a shame it ended so quickly. I was really enjoying seeing your panicked expression. Anyways, as per the bossâs orders, letâs you take you back, shall we?â she said with a smile, her light blue eyes twinkling under the dark sky. You swallowed thickly as you stared up at the woman, a deep feeling of dread pooling in your stomach.
~~~~
A/N: I thought I'd just drop this lol. I was too impatient, and it'll be one thing less on my mind while I work on the other requests. Feedback and questions are greatly appreciated! So are likes and reblogs!

Ronnie: [when you wanna follow him but you just gotta glare instead]
Joe: [probably taking whatever weâve got in to make this go easier, âscuse us, so much missing out]
Ronnie: [you know she turned up already on something so do what you gotta do Joseph]
Joe: [Jamie should be talking to you about uni things thus alienating everyone else a lil âcos that is a bit rude and will annoy you gal]
Ronnie: [fully just opening up a wound over here literally cos she was already jealous but did not realise they had this much shit in common or anything in common actually so weâre just livid and bleeding]
Joe: [Sophie just running with the kitchen roll like omg do we have bandages guys like oh babe you truly only mean well, Charlie just giving the can you not looks of it all, Joe just jealous because weâve obviously got our long sleeves]
Ronnie: [a spoken out loud fuck you at everyone but mainly Joe as we go to the bathroom to not deal with this but instead evoke the energy of when Mae downed that mouthwash because she definitely would and also go through the cabinets for anything sharp obvs]
Joe: [at least you can go under the guise of checking on her but really youâre just seeing what sheâs doing]
Ronnie: [1000% have not locked the door because we wanted him to follow us but that wonât stop her telling him to get out because walking contradiction forever]
Joe: [locks it behind him in response]
Ronnie: [the most intense glare in response because could not be more livid rn]
Joe: [grabbing wherever the wound is like weâre gonna kiss it better or something like Soph for a casual bit of blood drinking]
Ronnie: [obviously have to push him away really hard because weâre obviously really into it and excuse you boy weâre trying to be angry and hate you, soz to all the flatmates when you hear that crashing about]
Joe: [lmao this tiny bathroom getting destroyed, steady yourself and her despite that clearly not being what she wants right now, roll up a sleeve âyou never did the Xâ]
Ronnie: [the glorious visual of trying to get past him to leave/push him away again at the same time in a small space so you just end up pressed up against each other and the door making eye contact and itâs hot af âyou never took me anywhereâ]
Joe: [âso let meâ do you mean letâs get out of here or in a saucy way either or you skinny as hell girl so if you not really trying to leave itâs easy not to let you]
Ronnie: [âsheâll let youâ because weâre not just dropping this even if we want to]
Joe: [âwho?â like an oblivious boy âcos clearly not where our head is]
Ronnie: [a really vicious read of Jamie based on what weâre learned this evening that Iâm not gonna do because I am not that mean but itâs obvious itâs her and not Sophie weâre talking about, hope you donât hear us gal]
Joe: [âIâm not interestedâ in every sense right now âand you know that, stop pissing aboutâ]
Ronnie: [âwasnât any other cunt round the table hanging on her every fucking word, I know thatâ because that was blatant Jamie]
Joe: [âI canât help it that her fellaâs an accountantâ what do you do Marc, do any of us know lol, shrugs âwe go to the same school, thatâs itâ and a look like whatever the fuck this is is clearly more]
Ronnie: [she would wanna lol but we canât because still mad âthatâs it?â not actually a question though more like you better be telling the truth boy âwhy the fuck have you never told me about her then?â]
Joe: [âI thought I had when I said he had a girlfriendâ not not a lie ânone of them are what I want to talk about, thatâs itâ]
Ronnie: [âyou were thinking with thisâ grabbing his dick when we say so âthatâs itâ cos even if that was true Joseph we shade the rest of the flatmates often and you know damn well we love doing it]
Joe: [shakes head even though we are very clearly into that âsheâs no Sophâ like it wouldnât be as funny soz]
Ronnie: [âis rightâ like yeah I know you actually seriously wanna get with her, and moving away but not to leave but to pick back up whatever implement we were gonna hurt ourselves with before he came in but didnât get chance to because weâre genuinely upset]
Joe: [literally putting ourselves in front of it like no âRonnieâ like I donât know how youâre going to even put it into words boy so itâs mainly a !!! look]
Ronnie: [a look that starts out like donât try and stop me/fuck you but turns into !! when his does like say something/do something if you mean it]
Joe: [got to go in and kiss you whilst making her push whatever she was gonna use on herself into him, now or never, enjoy the tension finally getting released]
Ronnie: [obviously weâre kissing you back so we all know whatâs gonna happen next lol, soz flatmates I really hope you canât hear anything, especially Charlie cos you actually know theyâre related]
Joe: [it is not a big flat so keep quiet, just think heâs comforting her for all this time or what, god bless]
Ronnie: [she would be trying to keep quiet but not for yâall more so he thinks sheâs unimpressed/not that into it but that would literally last all of a second because sheâs obviously very into it]
Joe: [the levels you arenât gonna wanna go back in but canât be seen as being romantic lads]
Ronnie: [I could easily have her leave if we want though because itâs a fact that she doesnât wanna be here and everyone would be relieved except Joseph]
Joe: [that probably makes sense, honestly, and youâve freaked them all out, as was the point]
Ronnie: [and lbr youâve freaked yourselves out with how good that hook up was too so]
Joe: [just go hide in your room like youâre very taxed by that in an acceptable way boy]
Ronnie: [god knows where youâre gonna go gal but please donât OD again like you literally did in Margate no time ago]
Joe: [the headfuckery]
Ronnie: [poor Charlie just like UMMM WTF cos she must look bad even for her rn and weâve behaved terribly and then literally legged it so]
Joe: [thank god youâre such a natural party go-er so you can make up some excuse to put them all at relative ease but yeah, for sure like excuse me]
Ronnie: [might be fun to do a convo between them when weâre done with this one]
Joe: [Iâm down even though I really havenât used him yet, Iâll give it a go]
Ronnie: [yeah itâs been forever since we did the group chats with them and Bronson and Bea it feels like another life, I can send you the convo we did where she told him she met Joe if you like cos I re-read that the other day and it was pretty good]
Ronnie: [but the real question is whoâs gonna break first and start a convo and how long are we leaving it?]
Joe: [please do âcos did not realize weâd done that tbh]
Joe: [I could make a case for either of them, him to prove he meant it as he left it last time but her so she canât automatically be on the âit meant nothingâ total defensive hmm]
Joe: [some hours later when the party is over, or could be]
Joe: Charlie was going pub, heâs left here though
Ronnie: [even later because whatever sheâs doing sheâs messy and canât reply to the extent that she doesnât need to because he wonât be expecting her to and yet here we are]
Ronnie: did whitney ask you to pass it on to us cos hes still disappointed like
Joe: couldnât say
Joe: just letting you know that youâll have a free gaff for a while longer
Ronnie: where have i chucked the other one for the sake of this free gaff in your mind mckenna
Joe: alright, free rooms better than fuck all
Ronnie: its his emmy oggie i aint there either
Joe: anywhere good?
Ronnie: compared to what
Joe: established itâs no brag compared to tonight
Ronnie: not gonna stop you comparing me & her
Joe: compare to what?
Joe: pleasantries over cocopops
Ronnie: youll be interested in eating her out now youve got what you wanted off me
Ronnie: 9 is easier to carve than an 8 and you wont look like youre trying to copy the infinity sign one of your other exes wouldve got inked on her
Joe: itâs not remotely the fucking same
Joe: if I was arsed about getting my numbers up thereâs millions of girls in this city I could hit up before you
Ronnie: yeah youre not related to any of em and theyd have less clue how to shoot up than you do
Joe: even if the related bit was ringing 100% true, youâre the only user in town now?
Joe: you donât have to pervert it when it already was
Ronnie: youre already romanticising it like a fucking 13 year old so yeah i do cause one of us has to get real
Joe: you reckon Iâm so okay with it just because I can admit I wanted it
Joe: who do you reckon youâre lying to like I werenât there
Ronnie: who do you reckon youre talking to like i didnt fucking leave you there for a reason
Joe: Fuck off
Ronnie: i did
Joe: for someone who reckons theyâre so open, you chat so much shit
Ronnie: open to what soft lad infection
Joe: scars and trackmarks on your sleeve
Ronnie: yeah
Joe: you didnât miss much
Ronnie: no shit you didnt just invite me cause you wanted to fuck me
Ronnie: can do that anywhere
Joe: yeah and you didnât just wanna come to make Soph cry, like
Ronnie: i owed you
Joe: get it off your to-do list then
Joe: well done
Ronnie: stop crying youll never look as ugly as horse girl doing it or go for as long as her
Joe: you love her, we all đ
Ronnie: i said shut up
Joe: no, you say something thatâs not stupid
Ronnie: what for fucks sake
Ronnie: what did you reckon id say when you started chatting shit like nothing happened
Joe: alright, I donât know
Joe: it happened, right
Ronnie: you werent hallucinating
Joe: nothing that makes that happen in the bathroom cupboard
Joe: I donât regret it, I know that
Ronnie: meant to be made up to hear it am i
Joe: nah, probably not
Joe: but you wanted me to talk about it so I am
Ronnie: i wanted you to take the fucking hint when i legged it as soon as
Joe: you couldâve blocked me, so
Joe: pardon me for not taking it that seriously
Ronnie: not your crazy ex & i couldnt deny you your bullshit heroics
Ronnie: mary aint carrying me anywhere and i know how bad you wanna see me turn blue
Joe: you like having a stalker, is what you mean
Ronnie: block me and get your whore flatmate to tell you what she likes about you
Ronnie: weve established i aint got the talent to sing no cunts praises
Joe: weâve established Iâm not interested in that
Ronnie: cause you want me to tell you how smart you are at fucking me instead of beat the shit out of you
Ronnie: it wont last
Joe: familys forever, sis
Ronnie: not to your ma baby
Ronnie: did i look enough like her for you
Joe: what do you reckon
Joe: your theory, not mine
Ronnie: mustve youve still not fucked off
Joe: youâve got room for another face tat or two
Ronnie: go do that then
Joe: you can leave out the yes sir
Joe: not my fantasy
Ronnie: no shit like youve been my bitch since you hit send on facebook
Joe: đ
Joe: Iâve been worse
Ronnie: you trying to turn me on or what its a bit late for it
Joe: just the once, alright
Joe: bit cliche but probably for the best considering
Joe: very sensible of you
Ronnie: cliche that my da didnt stick around long enough for his side of the family to properly cut or sew me up so ive gotta regret not getting chance to put a razor blade inside me before you đ
Ronnie: now youre gonna reckon i care youve said the once ll do when i just hate you & hate how you fuck even more
Joe: Couldâve said it was about as much fun as
Joe: itâs alright
Joe: both confused, clearly
Ronnie: youre not confused youre fucking smug
Joe: hardly another achievement for the fridge door
Joe: whatâs to be smug about
Ronnie: probably for the best i dont answer that if thats how you feel
Joe: come on
Joe: aside from proving you were full of shit about not wanting to as well
Ronnie: fuck you
Joe: you donât want me to say how I really feel
Ronnie: making me cum earlier dont mean you know what i want now
Joe: right, you want me to declare my love so you get more out of telling me to fuck off, thatâs more like it
Ronnie: do i fuck
Joe: then what do you want
Ronnie: like you give the slightest shit
Joe: I do too
Ronnie: no you dont
Joe: I fucking do
Joe: [prove it in a way only yâall would, carve her name or something]
Ronnie: [send him your own pics of the bite marks youâre covered in which is a self harming thing youâve not done since you were a kid because itâs been a headfuck every second since you two met and weâre not coping honey]
Joe: you hungry?
Joe: you didnât eat fuck all, I mean
Joe: could get something not dubiously prepared by Soph
Ronnie: hungry as you are funny
Joe: I werenât trying to be
Joe: on the spectrum, or whatever you said
Ronnie: you wish you had the excuse or the musical prodigy status
Joe: đ about that genuinely
Joe: just a dickhead
Ronnie: yeah
Joe: I donât know what to say
Joe: thereâs no point saying Iâm sorry
Ronnie: no point is right youre not sorry
Joe: nah
Joe: itâd be lovely for you if Iâd found you and you were fine
Joe: but like you said, it ainât about me or her, itâs about loads of shit and you clearly werenât so
Joe: just seems pointless
Ronnie: im made up you finally got your head round it
Joe: Yeah well, I didnât tell you I was a good person
Joe: donât mean I donât give no fucks, just âcos I ainât trying to save you
Ronnie: you keep telling me you aint like it matters to me who you are
Joe: yeah, it doesnât in why youâre fucked
Joe: but what do you want from me
Ronnie: its your fucking fault im like this climbing the walls same as when i was a kid
Joe: yeah âcos you were doing really great before werenât ya
Ronnie: all you give a fuck about is letting yourself off the fucking hook
Joe: Blame me then what does it change
Joe: do something about it other than fucking yourself up, I donât care
Ronnie: stop lying that youre bothered if your only answer to me losing my mind is that i was before
Joe: I canât help you
Joe: If you thought I could, though why the fuck you would
Joe: then I am sorry
Ronnie: đđ
Joe: Iâve got my own problems
Joe: if I had any solutions, Iâd light âem up and shoot them into myself first, naturally
Ronnie: youve got a solution i gave it to you
Ronnie: why the fuck would you make me feel something
Joe: Selfishness
Joe: pure and simple
Ronnie: on your way to a grown up habit im dead proud
Joe: what more could I want
Ronnie: that to scab over seeing as youve finally admitted its bullshit
Joe: I still think about you constantly
Joe: I still want to know everything about you
Joe: Iâd rot with you
Ronnie: youve got your own problems to think about
Joe: yeah, and thatâs hell
Joe: Iâve done plenty of that
Ronnie: yeah and youve got your escape
Joe: take yours
Joe: can have plan bs and cs even if a is the best
Ronnie: youre the kid who tells the rest to jump off a bridge
Ronnie: cute
Joe: youâre implying I wouldnât and all
Ronnie: i dont give a shit what you do but i aint giving you the satisfaction of being the last fuck i ever had
Ronnie: youd cling to life long enough to write a pathetic song about it
Joe: thatâs the nicest thing youâve said
Joe: which is saying something âcos youâre so sweet, like
Ronnie: youre welcome
Joe: Iâll do a Dylan style ballad about all your đŒđŒ deeds
Ronnie: thats the biggest turn off out of everything youve ever said or done
Joe: thank god, youâre insatiable đ
Ronnie: once you said
Joe: not for my benefit
Ronnie: its all only for your benefit remember
Joe: if that were true youâd still be here
Ronnie: if it was true i could be
Joe: come back
Ronnie: cant ive got a face tat to get done
Joe: I understand
Joe: my art isnât there yet
Joe: wonât ruin your beauty
Ronnie: go ed and chuck yourself off a bridge you dont have to wait for me to boot your door in & do you in for chatting shit
Joe: well I am already devvo Iâm not a prodigy so yeah, add lack of a steady hand to the list of failures
Joe: probably the meds
Joe: you know being poetic is all I do, why have we downgraded it to chatting shit đ
Ronnie: why are you calling me beautiful when you could write it in your suicide note for your ma theres your downgrade
Joe: youâre too romantic for your own good
Joe: I wouldnât be writing a note, sorry to dash your illusions
Ronnie: not me saying i get you mckenna thats your delusion
Ronnie: what are you gonna draw on me then
Joe: you do but itâs more fun to take the piss and pretend you donât so
Joe: That is the question
Joe: wonât brand you, donât worry
Ronnie: if i dont want it ill cut it out no pressure
Joe: itâs just skin right
Ronnie: yeah
Joe: how olds your oldest scar
Ronnie: older than you
Joe: what did you do
Ronnie: i used to take headbanging literally
Joe: ah, the floor never saw you coming, yeah
Joe: I have a head scar too [cos he either does or did on the stalker show idk but there we go with a photo like she probably knows hun]
Ronnie: [I just imagine her smiling to herself like yeah I know nerd]
Ronnie: cant both be poets had to express myself somehow before i pushed a safety pin through my cheek
Joe: that explains the permanent đŸ
Joe: fucked the muscles, like
Ronnie: your shit jokes do
Joe: it was always easier to just start fights to get hurt
Joe: when I was a kid
Joe: though you work out ways to be sneaky fast, if you have to
Ronnie: they didnt wanna fight me
Joe: everyday sexism strikes again
Ronnie: fuck off not cos im a girl
Joe: why then
Ronnie: wouldnt be me getting hurt and if i was i didnt care
Ronnie: all those mental problems you told that call centre cunt about like
Joe: âcourse you were too proud to make it count
Joe: have to let them get some punches in or there was no point, yeah
Ronnie: no point in fitz flouncing in either fun though
Joe: true
Joe: Iâve got a brother and all, I remember what itâs like
Ronnie: scraps never went far enough
Joe: yeah
Joe: most kids arenât that psycho
Ronnie: đ
Joe: being misunderstood served me so well for the whole musician thing so whatever, I guess
Ronnie: i mightve bothered keeping some of my bastards about if they were guaranteed nutters thatd serve you well
Joe: youâd get your own room then, like
Joe: even if you had to pack them to the rafters
Ronnie: for a stalker youre dead concerned about my privacy
Joe: nah, âcourse not
Joe: Iâd rather have a place to do the gear without the possibility of Soph or Charlie đ„șing at us obvs, nothing but selfishness
Ronnie: theres loads of places
Joe: you can show me
Ronnie: is she there now she can let me in
Joe: no idea
Joe: their room is near the door, makes sense theyâd be your first victims
Ronnie: youre too selfish to get off your arse and do it
Joe: if youâre coming Iâll carry you in myself, you know that
Ronnie: ill be there and youll still be going on about what youre gonna do
Ronnie: no wonder the other kids kept smacking you
Joe: yeah, all mouth me, deffo what I was known for
Joe: not a euphemism and I donât think they were wishing it was but who knows
Ronnie: you sure you dont want charlie giving you the eye
Ronnie: how it sounds
Joe: Iâm alright, tah
Joe: pretty sure heâs over it now Iâm enabling you
Ronnie: hes over everything thats not horse girls from kent but reckons the fucking lost causes are us
Joe: He clearly just gives a shit about appearances
Joe: looking nice, polite
Joe: theyâll never speak again, like
Ronnie: forget him
Ronnie: open the door
Joe: [do that boy]
Ronnie: [boop his little head scar as you come in like oh there it is]
Joe: [âsânot even a good storyâ and producing some takeaway moment from the kitchen as you go through âcos the dinner party was not heavy on the dinner bit]
Ronnie: [a look like ffs because people caring in any way ew no but we are gonna eat it because probably haven't since that Margate moment]
Joe: [shrugging like bitch Iâm hungry as we tuck in, obviously]
Ronnie: [kick him while you've still got your big boots on but playfully not aggressively]
Joe: [đ but in a more genuine way than that cocky face looks, I am vibing Chinese not that that matters but there we go]
Ronnie: [weirdly I also thought that maybe because it's one of the grossest haha but yeah eat your food lads]
Joe: [greasy greasy goodness, love the subtle shade if any of them come out for a cuppa or whatever like oh hello again lol]
Ronnie: [I hope it's oblivious Marc just living his life]
Joe: [thatâd be most amusing, unbothered, casually]
Ronnie: [I just imagine them doing stuff to try and make him notice like when people stack stuff on a sleeping person but idk what you could do in that little kitchen]
Joe: [for sure, just being subtly annoying/weird and he is just like does not compute âcos we mind our own business, so childish]
Ronnie: [love that for you two]
Joe: [we stan the regression for you]

A Day With The Queen
Okay so I ran with a prompt from @lumicuousâ tonight, sorta. The idea was for Elsa to be visiting and just real clingy, but while writing it morphed into Elsa spending the day being clingy but helpful with her beloved new queen sister. You can read it as romantic, or not! :D I love writing fluff lol.
From the moment Anna had woken, Elsa was at her side. Elsa had even been awake before her sister but lounged in the bed, overlooking some writing in regards to things that had happened while she was away. She had missed so much, and did her best to catch up each time she visited even if Anna assured her no one expected her to be as caught up as she was when she was queen.
It was hard not to slip into old habits however, especially when she could help Anna. Elsa was able to remember things very well and sort them into areas of her mind in such a way that it made all the events she needed to pay attention to easy to bring to the foreground. Anna had a good memory, but at times she got a little overwhelmed and struggled, giving way to anxiety.
Elsa felt responsibility to help her. And if she was being completely honest, it also let her hang around Anna every minute of the day. She needed that after having trouble finding proper time for a visit. There was more unrest among the spirits than she had initially realized, as they could have volatile outbursts.
Anna rolled over with a little yawn and pressed her face into Elsa's thigh. Elsa glanced down at her and lightly stroked the utter chaos that was Anna's hair. "Wake up Anna. You've overslept." Elsa always woke up very early. Anna didn't tend to do the same, making herself sometimes late to things.
"Mmmm..." A muffled sound was all that could be heard against the violet material of Elsa's nightgown. It was a favorite one of hers after all.
"Anna, Anna..." she repeated her name and put down the scroll she'd been reading. She grasped Anna's shoulder and shook it gently. "Wake uuup Anna. Come on, you know you've got to."
"No...you be queen today..."
Elsa laughed. Anna was always so cute. "Sorry, not today. I'm not sure that's something we should change up on a day to day basis. Come on g-"
"RISE AND SHINE! Don't mind if I do!" Olaf had burst in the door and loudly. Anna continued to groan as he beelined it for the curtains and threw them open, the sunlight making his snowy exterior sparkle. "Wow, look at me shine! The sun is so warm too!"
"Thank you Olaf," Elsa said, watching him and still smiling. She missed him a lot, too.
"Of course! Wow! Can I join the snuggle party?" he asked, scampering over next to the bed.
"No, sorry. We need to get this one up," she said, her hand petting Anna's shoulder.
"I'mmup." Anna lifted her head, eyes still closed. "M'up." Before her face could drop right back down, Elsa caught her chin.
"Rise and shine indeed. I can see your drool glistening."
"Heh." Anna let out one solid and dorky laugh, still not quite there.
"When I drool, everything sticks," Olaf informed them. "I'm going to go get Sven for a game of rocks!" he then announced, darting off.
Elsa started to slide off the bed, and she reached for Anna's arm to tug her with her. "Come on, up!" Had it always been so hard to wake her? Anna slept like a rock next to her - or completely across her - every time, but usually she wasn't so bad. Elsa remembered being that tired too. "You can do it. I got used to this, so can you."
By then she was out of the bed and had the front end of Anna's body half up off the surface of the bedsheet. That was some progress, anyway. "Elsaaaa..." Anna reached her other hand out for her, and Elsa stepped forward to help.
When she was close enough, Anna's eyes opened wide, and she suddenly tugged Elsa closer before throwing both arms around her waist and smooshing her cheek against her stomach. She giggled and held her tightly while Elsa sighed and muttered. "Should have known it was a trap."
Eventually, Anna did get out of bed, and Elsa helped her get ready. She had no choice since Anna needed assistance with her hair. She wondered if Kristoff usually helped, but didn't ask. For whatever reason she just didn't want to know. It was the same with helping her decide what dress to wear that day, what to have for breakfast...no, Elsa was content to be the one helping that day. She couldn't peel herself away from Anna.
She sat next to her at breakfast instead of across from her. "Seems like today shouldn't be too busy," she told her, stirring her tea and then gently knocking her cup against Anna's.
"Maybe...but, uh, I have to review a thing about clearing some trees, and then there's the upcoming festival and we'll have visitors from another kingdom for that. I think I know what they like to eat but if I'm mixing them up with the others from the east of us, it's going to be really bad because I could feed them the thing they actually treat as holy and forbidden and I just-"
"Shh." Elsa pressed a finger to Anna's lips. "Deep breath Anna. Just show me who you're talking about. I guarantee I know, or at least know where to find it. I'll be at your side all day."
"How am I supposed to focus then?" Anna asked, looking at her with fondness and ignoring her breakfast. Elsa met her eyes and the two took each other in for a long minute.
Oh how Elsa missed her...even if she could see the stress in Anna's face and some mild panic in her eyes, she still held the warmest smile anyone in the world possibly could. "You'll be fine. I'm not here to make things harder, Anna."
"That's not what-"
"I know! I know. But I'll show you some tricks without leaving your side. Relax, please," Elsa begged her.
Anna didn't exactly do so, but she still nodded. "I'll do my best..."
Anna's idea of a busy day was certainly a low energy one for Elsa, but she understood her younger sister still finding it a challenge. Perhaps she was right, too, that she might be a tad unfocused with Elsa at her side all day. Elsa knew that, and she felt guilty, but she couldn't seem to help herself. It had just been too long since she was there in her presence. It'd been too long since Anna's soul had wrapped hers in all its tenderness and brought her to a level of calm she couldn't find even in Ahtohallan.
So, off to the next task they went, taking care of daily affairs. It was mundane, but necessary. There was a conflict here and there. Property issues, arguments that somehow couldn't be solved by a lesser counsel, submissions for various permissions...Elsa watched Anna read over everything with a careful eye as she hovered by her in meeting after meeting. No one objected to her presence and she was flattered. Once in a while Anna looked to her for reassurance and Elsa would smile and nod. When they were alone sometimes she found her hand running over her back, or her arm around Anna's bare shoulders. She couldn't keep herself away. Whenever she touched her it was like she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
It wasn't even lunch when Anna laid her arms on the desk in front of her and sighed. "Elsa, I'm tired. I know I shouldn't be, but I am." It wasn't whiny. It was just a statement.
"That's how it is, dealing with people. You've always been more outgoing than me, though." Living in a giant pile of ice did have some big positives even if Elsa generally liked people. She just didn't always want to be around them.
"Mm, there's being helpful and friendly as a princess, and then taking on a lot as queen. Kristoff tries to help but he's still trying to learn more. He goes off on reindeer tangents a lot when he gets lost in what he should say to people." Anna laughed a little. "It IS pretty funny though."
"You might check to see if he's accidentally reading those reindeer books again. He's smart but obsessed," Elsa said with a shake of her head. He sister was right though. Outgoing didn't mean she wasn't getting a tad socially exhausted. Once again she almost felt guilty for being there all day. Instead, she placed her fingers on either side of Anna's head and started a gentle rubbing motion.
"Aaaahh..." Anna leaned her head back into the touch. Elsa's fingers trailed behind her ears briefly, stroking down her neck as coolness slid gently along warmth. Elsa rubbed her shoulders too, slowly and with careful squeezes. "Come on," she nearly whispered. "We need to go look into clearing those trees."
"I don't remember what we're even clearing them for..."
"And I don't know to begin with." Elsa stepped aside but held out her hand for Anna's. "Let's go look."
The trees were being cleared for a new structure. The document detailing the plans rested next to a map on a large flat table. Anna leaned over to study them and Elsa said nothing as her arm went around Anna's waist. It was straight forward. Arendelle was bringing in another business, one that specialized in animal care and that was needed. There were some details to finalize such as where it would be built. Elsa didn't say a word, letting Anna sort it out on her own as she knew she was capable of. She was silent support.
When Anna was finished, Elsa kissed her cheek. "That wasn't so hard, was it?"
Anna blushed and squeezed her hand, dragging her off to lunch with Kristoff and Sven.
A picnic lunch remained fun. Elsa was happy to see Kristoff, as much as she didn't feel like sharing Anna's time. However, Kristoff was her friend too, someone she let through her door eventually, and he was able to make her smile and laugh with his antics. Olaf joined too only to bicker with Sven about the weather while Kristoff did the reindeer's voice.
Anna was in stitches by the end of it, unable to breathe while Olaf asked if she was going to throw up her lunch. Elsa mainly observed in amusement. She missed the whole group of them, really. She laughed with Bruni and Gale, and the Northuldrans could be fun, but no one was quite like the family she was with. She missed them when Kristoff and Sven needed to leave to go to a meeting about reindeer herd regulations and Olaf went off to play with some of the kids.
She stopped missing them when Anna rolled in the grass and tugged her down with her. She fell awkwardly with her arms on either side of Anna's torso, the redhead giggling up at her. "I miss this," Anna told her, her finger poking Elsa's nose.
"Anna," Elsa laughed, "This is no way for a queen to behave!" she teased but they had been silly sometimes when she was in that role.
"I'm queen, so actually, I say it is," Anna said firmly. Elsa's long hair hung down on either side of her face and Anna brushed her fingers through it. "You know how long it's been since I sat outside and had a big lunch and took a nice long nap after it," she said, gently tugging on Elsa's hair. Elsa sighed and gave in, dropping down to half lay on Anna with her head on her chest. Anna just kept stroking her hair. It was wonderful and Elsea hated that after a minute she had to say anything. "You have to get back to things sometime."
"Sure," was Anna's simple answer, but she didn't stop petting her. "Five more minutes. Lemme bask in the moment."
Elsa melted right in. There it was again. Anna's soul entangled with her own, bringing happiness and calm. Gentle whispers seemed to surround her as they spoke of love, laughter, faith, and understanding. How cruel it almost felt sometimes when she realized her elevation to being the fifth spirit had awaked her ability to sense more than she had before. Her magic had broadened to feel her sister right before they had found themselves apart. All she wanted was to be surrounded by it, by her.
She never wanted it to stop but the ringing of a bell brought her back to reality and she knew it was time to go back to Anna's duties.
When they did manage to get up and go back in, it was festival planning. Elsa knew the procedure since Arendelle had several throughout the year, and she led her right to the map to begin pointing out ideal locations for several of the areas they would need to set up.
"Didn't you have a comitee or something? This is a lot for Kristoff and I to think about," Anna said eventually, even as she was diligent about taking notes and scribbling down ideas.
Elsa nodded, leaning against the table. "Yes. You'll have the one I had before you took over, and next year you'll be able to appoint new people- or not. You'll see how well they work for you. They did plan a few things recently though, I know you must have talked to them as you shifted things into your rule."
"A little. I wish I had observed better."
"You did fine," Elsa said, beaming down at her. "I know you learned a lot. Watching me, helping me - its different than actually having to be where I was. But our people, Anna, they seem happy with all that you have been doing. I know you've met a couple of representatives from other kingdoms and they loved you." Who wouldn't?
Anna nodded and sighed with a smile. "I don't know what I'd do without you, Elsa..."
Elsa leaned forward and touched her hand. "You will always, always have me."
Her smile brightened and Anna took her hand, holding tightly. "You know I'll hold you to it."
The afternoon went by quickly after that, almost too quickly. Anna did a lot of planning, and Elsa indeed helped her figure out which kingdom was which. They got carried away researching, maybe, but Elsa enjoyed helping her. She got to just be there with her. In her company, even if they were silently reading, she was happy. She was happy walking with her to dinner, sitting down with Kristoff and Olaf once again to hear about their day.
Olaf told her everything, including more than she wanted to hear about how much he saw of who in various states of undress by accident. But even when he did talk to much he was dear to Elsa and she enjoyed herself. Rarely did she find herself mad at the little snowman; he was a part of both her and Anna for starters. Where Anna ended and Elsa herself began and how much of others had influenced Olaf, she didn't know, but he was always welcome.
Kristoff graciously sat across from both of them, forfeiting his usual seat next to Anna. Elsa had to hand it to him, whenever she showed up and completely stole Anna away for however long she was there, he had a good attitude about it. "You give her something she'll never find in me or anyone else," he had told her once. "I don't mind if it makes her so happy."
Given she even took Anna at bedtime, that was pretty understanding of him.
He also once let slip that sometimes it was nice to put on his boots, stomp out to Sven's stable, and crash in the hay for a night. Old habits died hard.
"Are we playing a family game tonight?" Elsa asked Anna hesitantly as they finished dinner up.
"No..." Anna yawned. "I'm really, really tired. I just kind of...mmm. I have to go sign something, and that's the last meeting. The man wasn't available during the day and so..."
"I understand," Elsa said, standing from the table and waiting on Anna to say good night to Kristoff. Anna kissed him briefly on the lips before saying she loved him. A conflict of emotions swirled in Elsa, but she said nothing, choosing to see it as protectiveness and the clear effect of not being able to visit earlier.
She felt more level headed when they walked just outside the castle doors and remained in the courtyard. Guards escorted a horribly creepy little man with a dirty white beard in, bringing a paper with him. Elsa had studied him the whole time he lurched his way up to Anna, and he sort of glared back. He didn't want to be there, and neither did Anna even though she faked a friendly smile.
Elsa conferred with her over the documents he had brought with him; they would secure a trade deal that was to Arendelle's advantage. Despite the grumbles and glares of the messenger, it was a good thing and Anna agreed to sign, Elsa's hand on her lower back as a sign of support.
Almost as soon as he was led away, Anna turned and wrapped her arms around Elsa. "His attitude was wretched," she stated.
Elsa hugged her tightly as well. "I know. They happen, sometimes. Just keep being friendly and don't waver." Anna was doing well, in that regard - very well. Elsa usually chose to hide any emotion, remaining cautiously friendly but otherwise blank when she dealt with such people. It probably wasn't always the best way to act but it was all she could do at the time before she was able to get away and shoot some ice around as a release.
While she missed home and Anna, she didn't exactly miss her queen duties.
She held her sister for a few more long moments before stepping back and stroking her face. "Come on, let's go rest."
Then it was back into their gowns, and at an early hour. Elsa still had some energy but poor Anna did not. Elsa had held a soft cloth to her face and washed her makeup away along with the stress of the day. She took her time doing so, standing in their washroom while Anna sat on a bench. As she cleared away every bit of makeup she studied Anna's skin, slightly irritated and ready for some hours off. Elsa's skin never felt like that anymore. She didn't miss it.
She undid Anna's bun and let her hair fall free even if it would be a mess again. Sometimes having the braids in after a long day only caused a headache. She brushed her hair out slow and careful before kissing the top of her head and helping her up.
Anna clung to her arm. "Thanks, Elsa..." Anna said sleepily. "I feel sort of stupid."
"Why?" Elsa asked gently as she escorted her to the room.
"I'm still not used to this..."
"So?" Elsa chuckled. "Anna, you saw how long it took me to settle in. Even when I had a routine down and felt more comfortable around everyone, I hadn't learned how to let you or anyone else help me. Remember the nights I slept badly and we all woke up to bursts of ice?"
"I do."
The whole ordeal had been kind of embarrassing. "That's one thing you've got on me so far. No random ice. You're already able to delegate. You're doing brilliantly," she said, leading her to the bed and sitting her on it. She'd had water ready before they went to clean up and she offered a glass to Anna.
Anna downed it slowly, not even quite finishing it before handing it back. "I guess you're right," she told her. "I shouldn't doubt myself, I can-I can do thiaaaaahhh...." Her words were interupted by a long and deep yawn.
Elsa accidentally snorted a laugh and then made up for it by stooping down to press her forehead against Anna's. "You're fine, Anna. Now lay down."
Anna grabbed her arm. "You too, come down here."
"Yes yes," Elsa nodded and crawled into the bed, having to crawl over Anna to have any space on the mattress at all. She was almost over her when Anna suddenly pulled her down on her again, this time with Elsa's face winding up next to hers. "Ack-you should warn me."
"You should be used to this," Anna said, turning to face her and gazing before he eyes started to shut. She tried to fight it, but it wasn't working.
"Mmmhmm." Elsa placed extremely light and careful kisses on Anna's eyelids, stroking her face as she relaxed against her. "I suppose I should be," she told her.
"I want...cuddles.." Anna managed to say, drifting off so quickly.
"You get whatever you want, Anna," Elsa whispered as she snuggled in, their hearts beating in the same soft rhythm. She'd do anything for her and couldn't help squeezing her as she fell asleep. "I love you."
