I'm thinking about Maria surviving and ending up with a stomach scar just like a certain agent that she may or may not have fallen in love with. I'm thinking about her trying to get through life when she only ever sees Natasha reflected in her own body, when she never got to bury Natasha's. I'm thinking about matching scars lifetimes apart that they'll never be able to compare, pain and discomfort that she'll never be able to get tips on how to deal with even though she was there for Natasha's. She could ask someone else, but it wouldn't be the same. It's never been the same.

in MDZS the novel, the innkeeper in Yunping mentions that people are too scared to go petition Yunmeng Jiang for help because someone once walked in on Sect Leader Jiang whipping a guy in the main hall, supposedly because the guy was a demonic cultivator.
#mdzs#jiang cheng#wei wuxian#jc apologism#anyways as you can hopefully tell by now this is a jc stan blog.#so as a stan i will do my rightful stan duty and insist that my fave did nothing wrong#so. onwards. the “jiang cheng tortures demonic cultivators” claim is interesting on several levels#because we don't see it happen onscreen. and because thematically mdzs is a book about the unreliability of rumors#especially when said rumors conform to your preexisting understanding of someone. or what you want to hear about someone#it would have been so easy for mxtx to include a scene where jc tortures a demonic cultivator onscreen. i would love to read it too#but that doesnt happen. when jc actually corners wwx he just shoves a dog in his face and bullies him emotionally#smh jc get your shit together!! what is this lame ass display?? not living up to your reputation here loser#anyways. tbh i consider two things separately: 1. mxtx's intentions. and 2. what the text itself implies#for 1. i am legitimately unsure of what to think. mxtx relies on rumors/empathy/etc to give us info about side characters#in part because she's constrained herself to writing from wwx's perspective and has no other easy way of getting the info to us#does she intend for us to question the rumors? or are we supposed to take them as fact because of the narration limits described?#2. what the text itself implies is not necessarily the same as what mxtx intends.#for me mdzs is in part a story about the unreliability of rumors and reputation etc etc. other meta writers than i have explained it better#so for the work to go “all the rumors about wwx were exaggerated/manipulated/not 100% correct.”#“but the rumors about everyone else are 100% true!!!!!”#is peak stupidity. and shit-tier writing#and i actually like mdzs so i would like to believe the writer is more intelligent than that#thus. i conclude in part due to this emotional necessity of mine that there must have been something more going on#anyways. i have similar opinions about the “did jiggy kill rusong” business but that's a post for later#ill probably put my jc torture opinions in their own post some day#yanyan polls

while my mind is still on the subject of transfem genderfluid taichi. i very recently got around to reading SSR family and my main takeaway after getting through all the backstage stories for it, and then especially after also reading citron's backstage story for devil maid's holiday, was this:

NOBODY suggested that citron should talk like a woman#but she just brought that up out of nowhere and then decided on her own to do it because ?????#like the parallel between ritsu and citron is way too strong here#and then the devil's maid card. you're telling me a cis man reacts like THAT to having to wear a maid costume for a play 🤔#also someone needs to tell her that her falsetto voice in family activation is SO GOOD i don't think she even NEEDS a voice changer#she already has the range 💖💖#anyway citron and taichi are the genderfluid icons of all time. to me.

#personal#so about this little stinkies#she hid into herself for a few years after i got her back from my family#and she has never been particularly good at being A Cat/doint the things cats do to clean themselves#and she wasnt mine to start with (she was my sister's originally so she didnt really get As close with me esp cause she became mine-#-while i was in college so i wasnt really Home) but like over the last few years of having her her personality has not just come back out#but also has morphed into the most beastly stinky beast (affectionate) that ever lived#and all of this is to say: she wont let me pee alone anymore in the mornings. everyday no matter what the first time im in the bathroom+#+she runs to come pee with me. i swear she's holding it. its so obnoxious and also so cute#and she did it again today ofc and it made me a little irritated at first bc like she insists on weaving through my legs b4 going to her bo#(tickles my legs weird) but then i got emotional thinking about how much she's come out of her shell over the last few years#i love my stink monster so so much#bun.life

Manon’s grandmother doesn’t see Manon’s daughter much, if at all. It was a decision both Manon and Dorian have agreed on; Dorian knows how vile the woman is, and while Manon is not cutting the woman off completely, she won’t let her daughter be subjected to that woman.
The Blackbeak matron doesn’t care either way. She knows of the child’s existence, and she already knows that she’s a lost cause, not worthy of her time and energy.
But you know which (great) grandmother gets unlimited time with the child? Glennis.
The woman is so kind and motherly and so very caring. She wants to spend time with the child, and despite the hiccups with Manon (she’s trying okay, but she can’t magically unlearn everything and be normal. But Manon knows that Glennis is a safe person which is why she has no issues dropping off her child at her great grandmother’s house)
Glennis loves it. She knows that while Manon struggles a lot with her feelings, the fact that she’s trusting her with her child for hours is telling the old woman all she needs to know. Manon just can’t express herself properly and that fine, her actions are enough.
So really, whenever Dorian and Manon plan something just for the two of them, baby is dropped off at Glennis’ house to spend a whole day bonding with her grandmother. Also, whenever Bronwen knows the baby is there, she visits Glennis and spend time with the baby.
So really, it’s just baby bonding with the Crochan side of the family with no issues because they’re safe and Manon actually trust them. As for the Blackbeak side, she only trusts her Thirteen and that’s about it.

One Eorlings headcanon you can prise from my cold dead hands is Eomer and Eowyn braiding each other's hair.
#LOTR#Lord of the Rings#Eomer#Eowyn#began when they were newly orphaned#Eowyn hated people brushing her hair only her mother was allowed to do it#it ended up getting into a total rat's nest#until Eomer brushed it and braided it for her#by that point he knew how to braid his own hair but there's a difference between “men's braids” and “women's braids”#and he could only do “men's braids”#which Eowyn the mini shieldmaiden *loved*#and she insisted on learning to do it too to repay the favour#Eomer is really bloody particular about it and when he was made Marshall or before Theoden's funeral feast/his coronation#he made Eowyn do it so many times#even after growing up Eowyn refused to let anyone else do braid her hair but Eomer#so when he wasn't around she did it herself she wouldn't let her handmaidens do it#and she couldn't be bothered to do fancy braids for her own hair she just did them simple when she was going out riding or something#however when Faramir stayed after Theoden's funeral Eomer did teach Faramir how to do the braids as well#so that Eowyn could have someone to do Rohan warrior braids for her once she was in Ithilien

Maeve having a very delicate pregnancy and Keith moving his office to their chambers so he can work (albeit less than usual -- sorry, Lorene) while also helping her with everything and taking care of the kids.
