Day 18 - Oops.. (Rambling time about the Tensura game that released yesterday. If you didn't know Tensura had a new game, it wouldn't surprise me) Anyways, been playing the new Tensura game, it's good for what it is. There are many aspects of the game that are VERY similar to parts of the mobile game (not in bad ways, mind you) such as the city-building (which is slightly less customizable but since construction is instant its a bearable tradeoff), the skill upgrades (which have an actual tree this time rather than a weird circle), and the party system with 3 people going out with a supporter giving buffs and whatnot. I'm sure very few of this is original to just Tensura's games, but you can tell that they either took heavy inspiration from the elements of Isekai Memories, or Isekai Memories was a proto version of this game. Don't worry though, there are no gacha elements and no in-game purchases besides the future DLCs. At least not that I'm aware of. As for the story of the game, a lot of it follows canon but it does seem to spend more time in its own original story than Isekai Memories often did. However since I have yet to get to the Orc Lord yet (played it for 4+ hours, the added unique story is long) I don't know much of the full story. I don't even know how far into the game I am and I don't really wanna spoil myself either. While it does sometimes copy/paste screenshots from the anime like the mobile game does (c'mon guys), it does also sometimes reanimate some of the more important scenes which can actually look quite nice. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE OUT-OF-CUTSCENE TALKING SPRITES LOOK LIKE THAT. I WOULD'VE PREFERRED IT IF YOU JUST MADE THEM STILL IMAGES, WHY DID YOU MAKE THEIR MOUTHS MOVE LIKE ITS AN AI-LIPSYNCH?! HELL, IT MIGHT EVEN BE AI, I GENUINELY CAN'T TELL. I spam caps, but it's not that big of an issue once you learn to ignore it. It's just... why? Why did you even bother? Just make it still sprites at that point. As for the original characters, I do not care for this goblin, please stop making me fight him 5 times in a row I wanna learn about the otherworlder and build my McRimuru's. The game's unique otherworlder (or at least one of them as there seems to be two, in this case I'm talking about the girl) seems to have some interesting things going on, though it seems she's only now beginning to get her attention in the story, so I'm interested to see where it goes. The goblin, or bugbear as he technically is, is fine... I guess? His reasoning is kind of annoying... "To get revenge on the direwolves for killing goblins, I will kill everyone in this town... Which is made up of mostly goblins." Eventually it starts to make more sense as his goal becomes less getting revenge and more to just actually beat Rimuru after he gets his ass handed to him 5 times in a row (I'm not joking, you fight him like around five times with only one or two quests between each fight. To give the fights some credit, they've been some of the harder fights of the game, so I do appreciate the challenge. Just wish it was more spread out so I came to dread those infrequent but difficult fights instead of being like "Am I fighting him again? I'm fighting him again... alright, here we go."). Still though, I'm more interested in this otherworlder and this new nation they introduced than this goblin, though so far in the story the goblin has gotten most of the attention. Ofc the story is far from over, I've not finished the game yet, and from what I've seen before I got off for the night it seems the story is heading into an arc more focused on the Otherworlder and MAYBE this other nation, so I'm excited to see where they go with it.

I stress out so much over liking anything posted by autistic people. I’m so sorry, I have literally nothing against you, I just freak out for no reason cause once I heard someone on YouTube say ‘if you aren’t autistic your opinion is completely invalid here’ and I’ve taken it to heart 🥲

I will go to like a post but then go ‘wait… that explicitly says it’s about autistic people/autism… I can’t! I don’t count!’ (And I am so salty about stuff like that cause I’ve thought to myself ‘well what if I’m agreeing about something that they approve of?’ But it still isn’t enough to justify it to myself.) (again, I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST Y'ALL)

I was considering asking my doctor if I should get evaluated for stuff but I also really don’t want to because what if they just say ‘nope, you’re normal. Why’d you even bother?’ And I KNOW I’m not neurotypical because I have GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and there is no WAY it’s normal to feel like your entire day has been completely and utterly ruined by someone not telling you clearly that if you didn’t go eat the leftovers of your family that you wanted, it’d be passed on to the others.

Oops, that’s not where that was meant to go, but I’m keeping it.

My original point BEING, I have a feeling I don’t JUST have GAD, I wanna get evaluated for Autism and ADHD, but the imposter syndrome (can I even use that here? I’m not autistic so does that mean it’s… rejection or something?) is too much and I’m gonna wimp out of bringing it up to the doctors. I’m fairly certain I have ADHD tho, cause everything I’ve watched I’ve basically agreed with. (And yeah, the internet isn’t good source material, but there are some good people on there.)

Also I'm so worried that I'm just copying people. Like, I didn't used to stim until AFTER I learned about autism and ADHD, so what's to say that I'm not just copy pasting? And that's not genuine and it's probably also rude.

Oh and on the topic of being too sensitive for my own good, let’s talk about how I deal with people scolding me. (Other than my parents.)

I genuine want to cry any time it happens. I had some pretty bad experiences of that kind of thing (maybe like 3-4 years ago?) and they happen to be some of the only clear memories I have of pandemic times cause everything kinda blurs together from that time. The clearest one and the one that affected (is that the right one?) me the most was when some of the neighborhood kids got in trouble for hurting each other from a tree in my sibling’s best friend’s yard. I was a witness, but I wasn’t paying a ton of attention to the situation. The sibling’s best friend’s mom asked me to tell my version of the story, so I did. I tried my best not to twist anything and to make it clear that I wasn’t sure about anything. Without me noticing (cause my back was turned) one of the kids mom’s (the one who had done the potential hurting) came up behind us and started yelling at me for ‘lying for no reason’ and ‘being rude’ and how ‘her kid would never do anything wrong, so if I wanted to go tell lies for fun she would go and tell my parents.’ Y’know, the kind of thing you tell semi-kids.

So from then on, I tend to have to choke back tears when not my parents scold me.

Another time (this week actually) was when I was scolded for acting my age at church. Now, I’m not a CHILD, so I see where the person was coming from. But I was also having fun with my friends. We were joking around, and one of the old people came up and scolded us. I thought I was fine till I got home and then realized that stimming in any way, even in my room, now felt childish and horrible and like I shouldn’t be doing it. (I’ve gotten over this, I’m back to normal. Ish.)

So yeah. I guess I take things too seriously? And it REALLY frustrates me. Like I can’t just let things go, can I? No, cause that’d be EASY.

Also, don’t you just hate it when you feel the urge to stim (hand flapping specifically in this case) but your muscles/wrist is in pain for no explicable reason?

Here is a little rant from me :')

The more I look at my Oc's the more I hate them, the more I hate my writing. I have like 20 drafts ready to go with long as fics but I can't seem to publish them. I always wanted to write and include my own character, heck even write my own book but the more I get to that finish line, the more I don't wanna do it anymore. I see all of these amazing artist on here, especially in the DL community, with great art and even greater Oc's. And the more I see them the more I...hate mine ig.

I just feel like that Laiko/Cora (my most fleshed out Oc's) are just not right and to basic. Like they are something everyone already did and they don't have any right to be there in the first place. It's like I am looking at them and I see their flaws and I am afraid. I wanted to introduce them properly but I can't with how mich I change every second. I have so many ideas but they all seem basic, like I am as a human being worth nothing and so are the things I am passionate about. It just... Its complicated and maybe I should just show it with an example?

Here is Laiko for example. Laiko was send to the Tsukinami to end a political "war" between her race and the founders but she doesn't really want that the more she grows up and makes herself useful as a spy in the war against Karl. After they found out that she had connections to Cora (Karls sister), they accuse her of treason and she has to flee right before the founders get sealed away. When she finally came back to her parents, her father didn't see her as his daughter because she was the product from an affair and she got used as a sort of Guinea pig for an experiment. Long said short she got transported into a different body that was a hybrid of her race and the founders.

This is the short version and I hate EVERYTHING about it. Nothing besides the treason part really was traumatic so it isn't like "put a bunch of trauma into that character" and even the experiment wasn't like forced on her it was on her free will she just didn't like the outcome of her new body. But I still don't like it and think it is to cliche, like something everyone already did (not that that's a bad thing) and I am just copy pasting anoth character from another story, from someone who is better than me. The other thing is also the new race part. This fantasy race of mine is something I have since I was like 8 years old and I wanted to put them into a story for like forever but now that I did it, it feels wrong. It is an AU and the rules can be a bit different of course but I feel bad about it.

I feel bad about writing Fanfics in general when I really think about it. I feel bad about writing characters that don't belong to me and even belong to me but I wanna write. I just feel like I don't have the right, like I am...how shall I put it? I am not good enough.

You know, I honestly thought I didn't have any connection to anyone who was modern-day Mohawk, just a vague link to a great-plus grandmother in the distant past...until today.

Because that's how I feel, too.

When I got my first official book contract, my editor Cindy wanted to ask if I was okay with not getting any royalties from the Library for the Blind audiobooks that might be made from my novels. (Specifically as library-loanable audio books that could be sent out on cassettes with a cassette player, or on CDs with a loanable CD player, etc, etc.)

Cindy said this with a tone that said she was hesitant to broach the subject, but it was clear it was not one of the most negotiable parts of the contract, and she stood ready to defend it.

I, however, immedately told her, "Oh, I'm perfectly fine with that, you don't have to explain it!"

Surprised, she said, "Oh?"

And I replied, "I saw for myself how valuable books-on-tape from the LIbrary for the Blind were to my grandmother, in the last years of her life when macular degeneration had wrecked her ability to read anything but the shortest of writings. It came on late in her life, so she never learned to read braille, so that was how she could still enjoy books, and old radio programs from her youth that someone had recorded and transcribed to cassette tapes.

"She looked forward to a new shipment of those audiobook versions and those archived broadcasts every single week. I am not going to block that kind of joy from people who want to check out my books from the library in a version they can actually access. On the other hand, audiobooks for the general public..."

"Oh, we definitely charge for those," Cindy agreed. "Though you'd have to do a massive number of book sales to justify the expence. The Library for the Blind folks pay for their own narrators out of like, donations and national grants and such, so it's not an expense we have to bear."

So that was that, on the publisher's end. When I took that very first contract to a lawyer who had a passing understanding of book contracts (actually kinda rare to find in the Seattle region), he didn't like that particular part of the contract, since it was basically robbing me of money as it meant I'd get no royalties...until I explained that I was fine with it, and why I was fine with it. And he realized that he had seen his friend's grandfather listening to books-on-tape, too.

So that's a connection I now have to a Mohawk (Kanienkehaka) librarian here in the modern day.

...I also want to point out that this attitude applies to comic books and webcomic stories, too. I was genuinely hurt by my parents actively discouraging me from checking out comic books from the public library. It was a story, too! But noooo, comic books were "...for losers who couldn't read! You aren't going to be a loser, are you??" (I want to clarify that this was NOT their exact words, but rather the impression their actions & attitudes left on me.)

(Aside from the parental Disapproval™ & discouragement, the other reason why I gave up on trying to read library copies was that the comic books were incredibly fragile and flimsy, and the stapled-on covers were easily separated from the main story pages, etc, so...finding an intact comic book at the library was a bit difficult.)

Anyway, this was how I grew up, until I realized my parents were wrong, and that comic book stories could be pretty damn great, actually. And now that we have access to webcomics, which included translated manga / manhwa / manhua (spelling variations, lol) from countries in Asia, stories that are incredibly good (as well as meh or worse ones), it's even more important for me, a fellow author, to speak up on their behalf, too.

Different ways of telling a story are all legitimate. There are things you can do in a novel that you cannot do in a movie, and vice versa. Things you can do with an audio book that are different from a graphic novel. Things in a live storytelling that you can get away with (adapting your presentation on the fly to keep your audience engaged) that you cannot do when it's supplied in a pre-recorded medium, and vice-versa (keeping the original story version intact & unchanged to preserve the original storytelling intentions).

They're all legit.

I've been reading Destiel again recently, cross-tagged with time travel fix-it, because even if everyone was happy where they ended up, do overs are always fun... for me the reader. Anyway, I'm several stories in, and suddenly my brain is like: "okay but what id time traveler Claire Novak?"

and now I have such a need for a time traveling Claire Novak, and I haven't even seen most of her episodes cause I stopped watching back when the boys were chasing Dick. What I know of teenage/young woman Claire is from tumblr and fanfics, I'll admit.

But the idea just lodged in my head and it won't go away.

So now I have the name for a fic I'm never going to write and at least three plot lines for it.

Thursday's Child (has far to go)

Claire Novak finds a strange artifact on a hunt then finds herself in the past and decides "screw it, I'm going to save my (first/bio) family."

past 1. Post series Claire physically transports to the past. In her attempt to be covert, she becomes her own babysitter. possible back ground plot, despite everything, Claire misses Castiel, so she prays to his current self. A curious Castiel, who isn't used to being prayed to directly comes to check it out, and because Claire was once his vessel, she can interact with him. Cas only angel radio. possible background plot two? Claire managed to get back to her car with the artifact before it went off, so the car came with her. It contains the complete set of Winchester gospels. ...also Chuck shows up at one point to explain he got his ending in the main timeline, she can have this one, he won't be an ass about it, and gives Claire a pen as a metaphor for handing over the reigns of destiny. (He also tells her her og timeline parents were proud of her. She punches him and gets away with it.)

past 2. The artifact is reacting to the echo of Castiel's grace from that one time she was his vessel, so anyone connected to his grace mentally time travels back to when Claire was a child. Returnees include Claire, Castiel, Dean (who has a very deep and profound bound with Cas) and a very tired Jimmy who is trying his best okay?

In both versions Claire thinks about finding a way back to her own timeline, or finding out what happened to it, but thanks to Castiel/Chuck she learns the artifact doesn't unwind time, this is a whole other timeline, but she's not missing from hers, she's effectively a perfect copy of herself right down to the soul, the 'real' her never left her timeline. The artifact was supposed to give users the chance to right a regret, and it had power (it's kinda indestructible that's why it's still around despite the fact) it just never seemed to work so everyone assumed it didn't. (Except the angels who Be Knowing shit.)

Also Cas gets his own magical Jimmy clone to inhabit so Jimmy can stay with his family. (There's always been a way, but the angels never cared, and by the time anyone team free will adjacent found out, Jimmy was heaven-side so it didn't matter.)

Hi. I'm not sure how to tumblr. I'm basically here because a friend linked me to one of your tvd metas after I started watching the show a few weeks back. I was halfway through the penultimate season when I decided to drop it altogether. Something tells me the writers either hated Stefan & Caroline or at least they didn't want them to be happy. And while I understand stefan's character trait of being consumed by revenge, he's been acting so irrationally this season that after a point even his otherwise weak-willed, bad strategist, impulsive brother was like 'I quit! You deal with your BS!' Fortunately/unfortunately I'm aware of the series finale & I think the writers never wanted Stefan's hero hair to have any character development so that they could justify his death as some sort of sacrifice but in the end it was to service his selfish brother's manpain. I wonder how people watched tvd for 8 years and I'm not saying it didn't have great moments but I also noticed how they rinsed-repeated storylines every season. For e.g Stefan seems to be dumbed down version of who he originally is and kind of reminds me of Tyler whose life pretty much changed for the worse because of Klaus or when he was so stupid that he was practically going to use his own body to put Klaus down in s4 & didn't even bother telling Caroline about it until she found out about it or something. Thankfully, this time Caroline didn't sleep with her boyfriends's mom's murderer though. What an absolute nightmare that would have been. Sorry for the rant but that wasn't the sole point of this message. I noticed you are a X-Files fan! Yay! If you don't mind me asking what's your favourite Mulder-Scully scene? And just out of curiosity,have you watched Normal People? If yes, then what's your opinion? If no, then please do watch. I think you'd love/enjoy the series.It's insane how much the characters, their individual characters arcs & overall journey is similar to that of Stefan and Caroline but with quality writing. Stefan & The TVD Finale

Oh, I’ve had my share of rants about the TVD finale and how Kevin Williamson spitefully killed Stefan because he wasn’t going to get the Stelena ending he wanted. That’s not a crackpot theory – he said as much in an interview. So yeah. We got the nonsensical finale that reverted Stefan & Damon to their season 1 characterization. That frustrated me given that I spent 8 years watching that show.

And like you one of the things I disliked about TVD was the repetitious storytelling. The formulaic storytelling drove me nuts, especially in the later seasons.  I take it as a sign that a story has gone on too long. If a writer can’t imagine new conflicts or plots then it’s time to call it quits.

Favorite Mulder & Scully Scene

Oh, wow. This is hard. Because there are ten or fifteen (or twenty) Mulder and Scully scenes that I could call my favorite.

I love their last scene in Triangle when Mulder tells Scully he loves her.  

I love their scene in Detour when Scully sings Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog.

I love their scene in Folie a Deux when Mulder tells Scully that she’s his “one in five billion.”

I love every single scene of theirs in Bad Blood.

And I love, love, love Mulder teaching Scully to play baseball a.k.a. Hips Before Hands in the Unnatural.

And of course, I’d be remiss to leave out Mulder & Scully dancing to Walking in Memphis in The Post Modern Prometheus.

I could go on. I love Mulder & Scully. They are my favorite tv couple. They are my original ship. I don’t know how to distill my love of them to a single scene.

I’ve thought about writing a Top Ten Favorite Mulder & Scully Moments meta over the years, but I’ve have never gotten around to it. Maybe I’ll do it this year. Hmm . . .

Hmmm..

I've conflicted feeling about her (since I always kinda dislike her since the first season), but...anyway..

She's always been a family person. I mean, in the first 2 seasons she always had her own 'other family' (Claire and Ray). But in this season, she was alone... While the other siblings finally started to getting their own families... Well, Luther-Sloane, Diego-Lila, Viktor-Harlan, Klaus-Reg (also a bit with his Aunt) and Ben, and Five with..his retirement time and his otherself (again lol).

And in the entire season she's basically becoming the trigger for the story to move on...(other than Five and Klaus ofc). And that's because she is in her lowest point..losing her own family and envies the other...

But she hurts a lot of her siblings.. especially Viktor and Luther...which I think..hmmm....too bad...

I think I like her version more when she's still with Ray.. (on season 2)

I wish there'll be season 4. Can't believe I waited for entire years and this series completely binged in just 2 days... Lol I need more 😂😂😂

stupid. a family can never be too big. i'm not that big a fan of like huge batfam stuff with everybody from every single universe, because as much as it's funny for bruce to have like 30 kids, it just feels a little too OOC for me.

In Supersons we see a couple of kids that are implied to be Damian and Jon's children and the boy has laser eyes and can fly, so I asume he's not adopted. The girl, who calls Bruce grandpa, can also fly, btw. So it's canon (probably by accident) that Jon can have kids and he must have married one of Bruce's kids. My thoughts on AOT No Requiem (Fanmade Ending) Part 1:

With another chapter of this story coming out soon, I thought now would be a good time to share my thoughts on the first part. Before I do that, though, I have a few things that I would like to get off my chest.

A part of me hates that this project exists. Not because I find it disrespectful, but because it serves as a bitter reminder of what a complete mess this ending caused among many fans. I'm still in disbelief how things got so bad so quickly. First, you've got the people who hated it. People began turning on Isayama and calling him a terrible or incompetent writer, regretting ever getting into the series, insisting that it was worse than Game of Thrones, the list goes on and on. People who liked the ending are now endlessly referred to as "ending defenders" or more crude names like "Isayama cockriders," as though they're a bunch of incompetent fools who don't know the first thing about reading comprehension all because they just happened to like it. And then of course you've got the other extreme end of the spectrum where the ones who were disappointed are accused of not understanding the story or they're only upset because their favorite ship or fan theory didn't become canon. This, too, is very demeaning and invalidating for those who grew up with this series that they gave their heart to and cherished for so long, only to have it do what they felt was a complete 180 at the very last second that undid every part of the story they thought was special and unique. It's one of the hardest slaps to the face you can get as a reader and long-time fan, and while I can't fully relate to everyone's feelings, I can at least understand and acknowledge that it's there and it shouldn't be laughed at. Now with all of that out of the way, here are my thoughts and analysis of this fanmade ending and how it differs from Isayama's.

To start things off, I found that part 1 started off similar to how 137 did in the canon manga, with Armin and Zeke conversing in PATHS. The biggest difference would be kid Eren being transported there and seeing his older self. To be fair though, this chapter was only about half the length of what we're used to reading, so I'm sure we'll get a lot more in part 2 onwards.

While Zeke is enlightening Armin on the history of the earth and how the life form that attached itself to Ymir sought to avoid death forever, young Eren is in PATHS too with his older self, witnessing the moment Ymir found the tree and fell in it to become the first titan. At first, there is no dialogue exchanged between them. They just hold hands and watch. Meanwhile, Zeke is still talking to Armin about Ymir and how she continued to serve her oppressive master despite acquiring godlike powers that would allow her to obliterate him whenever she pleased. This is where the team working on this project attempt to provide their own alternate possibilities as to why this happened in a way that would make more sense than what we were given in the canon story in which she simply had a severe case of Stockholm Syndrome and couldn't let him go no matter how much he made her suffer.

So what are these new possibilities? They come in the form of a question, so their validity is not made absolutely certain, but they're presented as the most likely candidates nonetheless.

According to Zeke, she was unable to separate her own desires from King Fritz and was a lost girl who sought meaning. A place to belong. Tragically, King Fritz was the only connection she had in her life, so she clung to it with everything she had despite it being toxic and abusive. I could argue that these are the very reasons why she supposedly loved the king in the official manga, as explained by Eren in 139, but they weren't explained or touched on as plainly as they were here. I feel like they could have been if Isayama had just been given more time, but sadly the whole thing was rushed and underdeveloped.

Moving on, Zeke states that despite his efforts in trying to understand Ymir and her feelings, it was Eren who ultimately was able to get to her and offer her the choice of freedom. The next page transitions to young Eren standing in the clouds with his arms spread out and a smile on his face just like in the official 137, only this time 19yo Eren is next to him. Now I'm going to be honest here, this is where things started to get a little corny for me. Yeah. I know a lot of people hate that argument, but that's just how it felt to me. And before I say anything else, I want everybody to know that I am in no way about to mock anyone's fondness of this Eren over the one we saw in 139, even if it was a little over-the-top. It's perfectly fine to prefer one over the other, I'm just going to try to explain myself the best I can without coming across as harsh or unprofessional.

Eren is drawn in these panels to be a stone-faced, determined and unstoppable force who will "keep moving forward until his enemies are destroyed." This is the Eren that many people grew most familiar with throughout the series, despite his occasional breakdowns, but something about the way it was executed just felt a little too overdramatic and exaggerated. For me, the contrast between this Eren and the Eren we were presented with in 139 is too jarring. It came across to me as the fandom's idealized version of Eren, the "chad" Eren if you will, rather than Isayama's portrayal of Eren who is cold and determined, but has also been experiencing stunted mental growth ever since the day he saw his mother get eaten; side note: I know that Eren himself was responsible for his mother's death, but that's a discussion for a later time. Not only that, but the "keep moving forward" line starts to get overused at this point. We already heard Eren say this a number of times before 137 where this first fanmade chapter takes place, so I didn't find it necessary to include that at the end, but it seemed to be the writers' way of trying to reinforce Eren's ultimate goal.

Regarding the rest of the chapter, young Eren asks older Eren what Ymir is still waiting for after he showed her that she's not alone. 19yo Eren proceeds to explain that while he was able to make her feel something again, she still needs somebody to free her. He shows his younger self all of the visions from PATHS that he's seen so far, ranging from past events to alternate realities to things that couldn't be changed no matter what. Now there is only one path left that he strives toward. The one that he believes will grant him and his people freedom. This next line is the one that stood out to me the most throughout this fanmade chapter. Still talking to kid Eren, adult Eren says, "When you wake up, you will forget what you learned, but not what you felt here. This will all feel just like a long dream." Only when he kisses Historia's hand will it all come back to him. This line more clearly explains why Eren woke up crying in chapter 1, but couldn't remember why. Then he circles back to how he intends to carry out his own plan to end the cycle of hatred once and for all. Despite his efforts along the way, he couldn't change the flow of PATHS and save the friends he lost or prevent certain events from happening altogether, so he had to accept that sacrifices had to be made. In this case, he will have to literally sacrifice the world, much to Armin's horror.

To wrap this up, I'm going to finish comparing this to the canon 137, but since the first part of this project only covers the PATHS portion of it, that's where I'll stop as well. To save a little but of time, I'm just gonna be lazy and copy the first part of a quick overview of the chapter I found as part of the wiki:

So clearly, canon 137 starts off focusing a lot more on Armin and Zeke's differing philosophies and does not provide any further insight into Eren's ultimate motives like this one does, at least not yet. Armin and Eren are bound to face off soon in this fanmade version, but it looks to me like this time the writers are planning on flipping the outcome and having Eren come out victorious instead, especially when I remember the name of this project and what it's based on. I guess that means that in a way, I already know what's ultimately going to happen throughout the rest of this project. Whether it's going to be considered superior to the actual ending is going to depend on if its executed properly. I could very well be wrong about some of this, though. I want to give it a fair shot since these people have clearly put a lot of hard work and passion into this, so I will refrain from further judgement until we get the full picture. On a side note, I just want to say that the artwork is beautiful so far and I commend every artist responsible for their efforts. I also liked the song choice at the beginning and thought it set the mood pretty well.

This took me far longer to write than it should have because I'm not always good at expressing myself in a way that does not come across as confusing or contradictory. I will continue to share my thoughts as more content is released, which by the looks of it could be any day now.

I don't generally make this kind of thing a habit, but I think if you happen to be on the Crystal RP Discord, aka @crystal-rp-ffxiv, you should probably be aware of this kind of behavior, so here goes.

If you're on Crystal RP and the admin team decides they don't like you, you're going to be living under a microscope while they wait for you to mess up, if not bait you, probably while making up conspiracies about you as well. As for how I know this, I was a moderator for about a week's duration and saw it first-hand.

From the first time I looked in the mod chat I knew something was wrong. I read backwards in the channel, thinking I'd acclimate myself and see what kind of rules precedents had been set and that sort of thing. I mostly just found out that they had it out for a particular member (at the time using the name Jericho) for not much reason. They'd spent a troubling amount of time over the past few months watching him and another member like vultures, believing them to be the same person and waiting for them to make some kind of mistake that would justify banning both of them...despite keeping different schedules, having different personalities and typing habits, and visibly being two different people. The admin team had come to the conclusion that Jericho was a troll who wanted to make them look bad, and anything he said or did was scrutinized to a ridiculous degree for evidence that would corroborate their belief.

Except none of the things they believed at all were true: he'd had a minor argument via DM with the head admin Benjimir Thursby's wife, Tessariel Aerlinn, who had made an overly broad statement about anime and Asian culture. Jericho had told her that overgeneralization about 'Asian culture' is potentially racist, and she became extremely angry, saying that because she's Asian, she can't be racist against Asians. After that, it seemed that Jericho was considered fair game for whatever retaliatory actions the two of them could justify.

Even a cursory glance at actual racism in Asia pokes Tessariel's statement entirely full of holes, and having personally read the conversation I didn't see anything actually inaccurate in his statement even if she believed it didn't apply to her. I asked what he had done that would merit such a response, because it felt very disproportionate to anything I'd ever seen him do publicly, and that was what I was told. The exchange via DMs had been screencapped and kept in a channel for evidence, and while I didn't get a copy of it, I did read it, and I said that I thought it sounded awfully one-sided and punitive and would have been much better as an actual conversation. I also expressed that I was concerned how much of the channel had been solely devoted to what was basically a witch hunt, considering that some of the server members had over the course of the past couple of months commented that the admins' behavior towards Jericho seemed biased.

I basically got a pat on the head and told that my opinion was "valued" but wrong. This would happen a lot over the course of the week.

Shit continued to escalate. Their favorite punching bag, who was acutely aware of the grudge by now and probably trying to be nice and discuss something that he thought they could all talk about, brought up some articles that stated that LOTRO might be having a graphical overhaul. This actually ended in him being put into some kind of time-out mute, because "everyone knows those articles are debunked already" despite them still being hosted on reputable games news sites. Back-channel, the admin consensus was that he was in fact trying to bait Benjimir and Tessariel into somehow looking stupid in public, because [paraphrasing] 'he knows how important LOTRO is to them.'

Benjimir in fact went off publicly about how he knows the dev team and they sent him 'personalized swag' for 'being himself' and that everyone should just listen to him because he's right. Someone else made a reasonable request for sources on statements that Benjimir made about the LOTRO improvements not happening, and they immediately became the team's private #2 punching bag.

The whole time I reiterated that this was really uncomfortable and I had serious concerns about the way they were handling Jericho. And as always I received a pat on the head and was told to not worry about it, there were really good reasons for it, really. He was 'bringing down the quality of discourse' on the server somehow. Benjimir decided that the only way he would unmute Jericho is if Jericho talked directly to him, and that Jericho tried to talk to any of the more level-headed members of the team first was taken as obvious evidence that he wanted to evade rules and create problems. I asked when we planned to unmute him, and Tessariel immediately jumped to the conclusion that he had messaged me, which wasn't incorrect but the way she worded it felt highly accusatory and I was beginning to feel that I was also in trouble somehow for not agreeing with the rest of the team.

Things came to a head quickly when I woke up and looked at the mod chat and they were having an animated conversation that started with Benjimir asking if it was 'bad that he was laughing at Jericho' and most of the rest of the team talking about how he was stupid, uninformed, a troll, etc. for the sin of having some misgivings about cryptocurrency, of all the things. One of the mods self-described their behavior as bullying. I said that this was extremely unprofessional and that I thought they should keep conversation to actual moderation matters, and if they had a personal disagreement with a server member they should handle it in a personal venue, not via official server moderation channels.

I was, for the final time, patted on the head, and told that this was not something they would consider, because the moderation team 'needs to be able to vent for their mental health' (never mind that the job was not stressful except for the rest of the team committing worse behavior than the server members) and that maybe I was in fact too sensitive for the job. Benjimir heavily implied that I had become too close to Jericho and was being manipulated, managed to misgender me somehow despite my having used solely male or neutral pronouns the entire time I'd been on the server, and after relating a story in which a couple of years ago a well-liked moderator left after having the same complaints as I did (which he saw nothing at all troubling about), suggested that I should be demoted to babysitting the lore channel.

So I took some time to collect receipts, which are linked at the top of the post, and told him where to shove it.

Since that time, things have actually somehow gotten worse on Crystal RP. Benjimir posted an entire page screed vaguely talking about "rampant negativity" that stated anyone with questions should DM him.

Upon DMing him with questions, Jericho was banned, the only reason given being that he was a 'poor fit' for the server in some vague way. I was immediately banned afterwards for calling out this decision as being driven by a personal vendetta in the feedback channel and let him know afterwards via DMs in no uncertain terms that I had logged everything I needed and would be building my case (and that he is an asshole). Jericho was reinstated, though I'm not sure what the conditions of his return were as that was after my ban and I didn't ask since I didn't want to stress him out further. Benjimir also reprimanded someone for discussing asexuality, stating in a DM to them that the conversation was somehow ERP related. I called him out on this via DM as well. Tessariel was not much later caught posting my last DMs to Benjimir in an entirely unrelated server, though she didn't include the part after that where I brought up his aphobia (during Pride Month, in a server with a rainbow icon no less). Benjimir for some reason decided to suddenly start following my FC's Tumblr well after our falling-out.

And as of today (6/24), Crystal RP now has seven pages of draconian rules, because it wasn't micromanaged hard enough before or something. Notably, a lot of these rules describe behaviors that they wanted to punish Jericho for but couldn't at the time justify, or that they'd like to punish me for but have nothing they can do to me. Or they exist to justify their own behavior, as now seen in the very beginning of the channel:

"This approach also provides our volunteers with leeway to act in good faith without the burden befitting a professional occupation."

"So we afford them the means to speak openly, vent, lament, candidly and yes, sometimes crassly and raw about everything and one."

Not only did they behave unprofessionally and shit-talk before, they have now encoded in the rules that this is acceptable and even good moderator behavior, because they saw someone else do it so it's fine (a lot of this wording is very similar to what I was told when I protested it). So rather than address anything I ever said past or present, Benjimir is choosing to double down and giving himself and his team explicit permission to be shitty, right in the opening paragraphs where you'd have expected a mission statement or at least some sort of welcome.

Which is about all you need to know about that server and its owners, in my estimation. I'd considered not even posting to Tumblr about it, but given that it's only getting worse, I think it should be generally known that this is how you can expect to potentially be treated.

I have to go with more than one. so there's where the mind wants to go/where you let it go by I the mighty, one of my favorite albums of all time, and I'm going to say it how it is, I LIKE THE COLORS. the blue-ish imagine with the red omg. look at it pls.  Also fandom by waterparks looks SO COOL. again the COLORS  and I love the art for Isola by Kent.  I recently discovered you wouldn't believe what privilege costs by civilian and I think that cover is pretty cool too.  well and then there's petals for armor by Hayley Williams, the cover art is so fucking powerful Jesus I get goosebumps just thinking about it. in case you don't know about it, long story short: there's been a lot of shit going on in Hayleys life in the past. relatable imo. then they made after laughter and its been like u know what fuck it we’ll just laugh and dance through the pain. together. and I LOVED the vibe omg it gave me so much. but for Hayley it kinda postponed REALLY dealing with shit. she came home from touring with AL and she also got divorced during the AL era and everything's shit and out of all that came petals for armor. and in it she reclaims femininity, being alone, being powerful, being a women, everything. and ah yeah we were talking about the cover art, the cover is her, having a line of squares on her face, three of these squares are tattooed on her fingers though bc its where her ex husbands initials used to be that she got covered up. WHAT A MOVE. THE POWER.  (if anyone is interested in hearing Hayley talking about/explaining all this, I really recommend watching her interview with zane Lowe. its SO GOOD basically free therapy) How much did your parents influence your music taste? a. lot. my dad listened to a lot of “dad rock” you may call it, I guess a lot of dads listened to stuff similar to this. Deep Purple, the police, simple minds, Green Day, Billy Talent, the scorpions and things like that. what influenced me the most tho was the beatsteaks (german band, very good), die Ärzte (german band, very good) and LAST BUT NOT LEAST the fricking blues brothers. my favorite movie (not the 2000 remake, go watch that in hell where it belongs), a great, charismatic band, unbelievable live performances. very big WOW from me.  Do you own any vinyl? don't get me started omg. I searched for like 2 weeks and then, on google results page 8 or something, I found what could've been the only copy on the damn internet and it was very expensive but its MINE NOW -my signed vertigo vinyl by EDEN, its clear and on side D it doesn't have music but a little message engraved it the vinyl IT IS CUTe -Placebos MTV unplugged! I am so I love with this album. SO. in love. and one day, when I was in Berlin to see palaye royale, back when we had concerts, I walked by a random record store and they have like 4 records left bc they were closing or idk and the only one displayed in the window was this one. tell me about FATE  Do you own any cds? not many. sometimes when im at the store and I see ones I know or like, I just buy them and put them in me moms car bc I want her to listen to them. or when I find a cd by a smaller artist I enjoy, I buy it just to push the nachfrage. I feel like youre rly LISTENING. and that way isn't better, or right, and im not saying it works like this for everyone. but when I put a record on, my only activity at that moment is listening to music, I sit down and I listen. to the entire album. so skips and no pauses, bc that's how it works. and I think that sometimes, that can do a lot for you. if you let it.  and besides that, physically owning a record makes me happy on a level nothing else really does. fuck I love music so much and when I fall in love with it, I fall hard. and then owning a copy of it, something I can touch, something that is MINE, putting it in my little shelf, looking at it every few days and just being in love? fantastic feeling.  What is a genre of music that you tend to go to for comfort? sad shit. I feel like I can get great comfort from the sad shit. or maybe just slow shit. and songs that mean a lot to me and have been around me for some time, they have this other level of comfort. like for Emma, forever ago by bon iver for example. How Rick Ross "Bankrupted" 50 Cent

I remember reading headlines about 50 Cent's financial troubles and thinking there was something incredibly tragic about the man that released "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" going bankrupt. However, last time I checked, 50 Cent was actually still alive which did make me think that there was slightly more to the bankruptcy story than what meets the eye.

To truly understand what happened we need to go way back to 2008, at the start of his feud with everybody's favorite wing-slinging fake drug-dealing rapper, Rick Ross. It was actually Rick Ross that started off the beef by saying that 50 Cent looked at him some kind of way at the BET Awards. 50 responded by saying that he didn't even see Rick Ross at the awards which I think is hard to believe considering that Rick Ross weighs 350 pounds. Now, Rick Ross made the beef official when he released the song Mafia Music, which fired a few shots at 50 Cent for allegedly burning down his baby mama's house. January 29th, 2009, and 50 Cent comes out with a response to Mafia Music, with his own diss called "Officer Ricky". The next day, Rick Ross calls into the Angela Yee show and says that the response is trash, and that 50 has 48 hours to respond with something better. Shortly after, 50 Cent responded with an Instagram video:

"Rick Ross imma fuck ya life up, for fun. I paid for the transcripts to your court case, and now that I got your address, I will be at your doorstep, Ricky." On that same day. 50 Cent also releases the first episode of his "Officer Ricky" cartoon series. A couple of days later, 50 is sticking to his promise of fucking up Rick Ross's life for fun. 50 starts out the video by saying what you are about to see is "something a bit more sophisticated than what we've been offering in the past." Which I think is a massive disservice to 50 Cents old work, I mean this video is so lowbrow it makes Candy Shop look like Beethoven's Symphony. In the video, the mother of Rick Ross's child is with 50 and calls out Ross for having rented jewelry and leased cars and then takes her fur shopping while "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder plays. You cannot make this shit up. 50 also takes the opportunity to call out Rick Ross's other baby mama for being a call girl.

A certain days after that, Rick Ross releases the diss song, "Kiss My Pinky Ring, Curly". This song is accompanied by a music video of Rick Ross hanging out in New York with some miscellaneous goons. The song also featured what felt like several hundred lyrics accusing 50 Cent of being gay. An allegation which seemingly becomes a big part of this beef from both sides. Two days after that, its the 8th of February, and 50 Cent is dropping more content than Netflix. He puts out Officer Ricky Episode 2 which shows how Rick Ross got a deal from Jay-Z, he then drops the first in a series of new comedy segments featuring a character he's created called Pimpin' Curly. This is basically just 50 Cent wearing a curly wig, while shrieking about how much of a pimp he is, and threatening Rick Ross on camera with a knife. Then, along with his crew, G-Unit, 50 Cent releases "Ill Be The Shooter" which features so many shoutouts of different types of guns. The song should've been recorded in T.I's trunk.

In response to this, Rick Ross essentially copies 50 Cent's idea of the animated diss video and releases his own version called "Gay Unit Workout", which I'm sure even the slowest of viewers can work out what that means. This entire video is basically just calling out G-Unit members for being gay, it also disses 50 Cent for allegedly using steroids, and for some reason Rick Ross decided that this was the perfect video to debut his new single with John Legend, "Magnificent", over visuals of a cartoon G-Unit having a three-way gangbang. That same day, Rick Ross dropped the diss track "Push Him Over The Edge" which is basically a two minute freestyle mainly consisting of.... yeah. You guessed it. He mentions one specific rumor of G-Unit member Lloyd Banks being in a gay porno which I did a lot of digging on and I couldn't find any evidence for that.

The next day, 50 Cent puts out a video that's probably the most menacing thing I've ever seen in a hip-hop beef. I mean, this thing makes the Story of Adidon look like the Story of Balamory. He releases the video "A Psychic Told Me".

"I got this little poem for DJ Khaled, check this shit out, it's called 'I just wanna tell you what a psychic told me'. Your car tires got stabbed down. Now you know, I know where you be. I know where your mama house at. I know where your mama work at. Now look at her sleep."

At this point in the video it shows actual footage of DJ Khaled's mother at her desk in an office sleeping in her chair. To make this even more spicy, we later found out that the person that actually filmed this was French Montana. He's even seen in one of these videos wearing a "ThisIs50" t-shirt which we can't blame on his stylist.

Over the next month, these two trade shots back and forth over diss tracks and animated videos. 50 goes on to drop several more cartoons which don't just clown Rick Ross but also go after T.I, DMX, Suge Knight, and Chris Brown. But it's on March the 17th that 50 Cent made the ultimate mistake that eventually would wind him up in bankruptcy.

50 Cent actually leaks a sex tape starring Rick Ross's other baby mama, Brooke, with an introduction of himself in character as Pimp & Curly, and commentary throughout the entire video. Six days after the sex tape leaked on March 23rd, Rick Ross came out with a very unusual video, essentially saying "sorry not sorry" to the gay community.

"I heard that I offended the homosexual community, I apologize. I'm offering to do a record with an openly gay artist such as 50 Cent. We all know he's gay. So now, all the gays' good."

Later, Rick Ross drops his long-awaited album, "Deeper Than Rap". Now, the album is out, and there's very little to be gained from beefing as these two kind of lose interest in each other. During that time, 50 Cent seems to get closer to Rick Ross's baby mama, Tia, helping her release her own tell-all biography. But things get really savage in November, where seemingly out of nowhere, 50 decides to take Rick Ross's baby mama and his kids to Floyd Mayweather's house. I've got to say, it's pretty painful to watch, I mean it seems like 50 Cent treats Rick Ross's kids better than his own.

February 5th, 2010, and Rick Ross's baby mama, Brooke, brings a court case against 50 Cent for leaking that sex tape. This court case takes an entire five years to get resolved. During that time, the 50 and Ross beef simmers, and a few things happen here and there that are quite interesting. Ross publicly suffers from some seizures, the rapper Gunplay from Rick Ross's Maybach Music label gets beaten up by G-Unit at an award show, and 50 Cent is pictured wearing his Maybach Music chain at a bowling alley. A few days later, 50 clowns Rick Ross for getting his car shot up, and Ross gets accused of pistol-whipping his groundskeeper, who is later pictured on Instagram with 50 Cent.

Five years go by and it's in July 2015 that that court case finally gets resolved, and 50 loses. The court ordered 50 to pay five million dollars to Brooke for the sex tape leak and two million dollars in punitive damages. Three days after losing that case, 50 Cent files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Now, it's important to realize that there's a big difference between filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Chapter 11 is more about reorganizing your assets so that you can end up making the payments that you owe, whereas Chapter 7 is a lot more about admitting that there's no way you can pay your payments, however this didn't stop Rick Ross and the whole world for clowning on 50.

50 Cent even got in on some of the action, mocking the idea of him being bankrupt with piles of money in each photo, which actually caused him to get called back into court to explain himself. 50 told the court that the money in the pictures and his whole lavish lifestyle was actually fake. 50 Cent's money woes didn't last very long. By 2017, only two years after losing that court case, 50 was actually able to pay off his entire 22 million dollar debt five years early. So if you think 50's broke, 50 ain't broke. But how the hell did 50 suddenly get all of this money to pay these debts? 50 didn't just go bankrupt from losing the sex tape case, he'd also been in and out of court with Sleep Audio based on a dispute around the SMS Audio Headphones deal he had going on. 50 had originally partnered with Sleek to engineer the headphones, but he later left them and ended up doing a deal with somebody else. Sleek sued him and won and 50 ended up owing 17 million dollars for the devopment of these headphones. Add that to the outstanding amount that he had to pay Brooke for the sex tape lawsuit.

In December 2016, 50 actually won a court case against the lawyers who represented him in the original Sleek Audio case that he lost, by winning that case against his lawyers, he got 14 and a half million dollars which he then combined with his own funds of 8.3 million dollars to basically pay off the entire outstanding debt and get out of bankruptcy. Off the hill from that win, he decided to sue his lawyers from his sex tape case as well, specifically he argues that they failed to interview Rick Ross about leaking the sex tape himself before 50 did. There was actually a conflict of interest between an old lawyer that 50 had in 2004 and Rick Ross's current lawyer. As far as I can tell, that court case is currently unresolved but what I could find was that 50 is looking for 32 million dollars for this case. Though 50 beat bankruptcy, we can all assume that he learned his lesson, and he will never leak a sex tape ever again.
