i watched the percy jackson series with my mum (who doesn’t like watching tv) and it went like this
percy, reading : *letter moving on the paper*
my mum *points to the screen* : he’s like you
percy’s step dad : *is on screen*
my mum glaring at the screen : he’s *her ex’s name*
percy : i made friends
my mum : see it’s not that hard
poseidon : *compliments sally*
my mum : he’s better than your dad *stares at me for 5 seconds*
she practically didn’t speak the whole time, and i was scared she didn’t like it, but after episode 8 she asked me when was season 2 coming out and insulted disney for not giving a date yet so it went well 👍

He's dead
"Hello, is this Sally Jackson?"
"Yeah, one of Percy's friends I'm guessing? I'll put him on the phone for you."
"Thank you."
"Hey...?"
"Hi.. it's Leo."
"WHERE THE FVCK HAVE YOU BEEN?!?"
"Language Percy! I don't want Estelle picking that up."
"Sorry mom."
"I forgot you didn't know I was back, I need to tell you something."
"Is everything okay? Is there another prophecy? I swear to the gods if there's anoth-"
"Are Annabeth and Grover with you?"
"No, Leo what's happening? You sound scared." Percy heard sobbing through the phone, "Take a deep breath, what's going on?"
"J-Jason... he- he.. fvcking sh!t- Jason's dead."
"No. No he can't be- but how? Why?!" Percy let out a scream of pain, breaking down into tears. "W- when..?"
"Two weeks ago, I told Piper I would tell you but I haven't been able to do it until now."
"Is she with you?"
"No, I'm alone."
"Where are you?"
"On some street in the middle of somewhere with no money, where I've been for two weeks."
"Are you in New York?"
"Yeah, somewhere in Manhattan."
"Describe it, you're coming over."
"Why...?"
"Just come, I don't think you should be alone right now." As he gave directions everything sunk in, Jason was dead. He would never fvcking see him again, never be able to laugh with him again, everything would never be the same again. He'd lost his bro, the one who'd always do dumb sh!t with him, the one he could talk to about anything but they'd always still be chill. He was gone.
Percy open the door with bloodshot eyes, tears still rolling down his face. Leo was a wreck, he looked as if he hadn't slept in a week, or eaten for that fact. He hugged him, they both half collapsed on each other, holding so tightly it was as if the other was about to disappear.
"Percy, is everything alright? Who's here? I heard crying what happ-" As the hug broke Sally caught sight of the small boy,
"Mom meet Leo, son of Hephaestus."
"Hello, you can stay here as long as you need I know demigod lives are hard. Go take a shower, I'll get you something to eat, if you want we can talk about what happened."
"Thank-k you." Leo whispered, unable to keep his voice from breaking.
"Percy, what's going on?"
"You remember how I told you about camp Jupiter... and..Jason?"
"Of course I do."
"He- he died.. I don't know what happened, I don't know why he even got involved but he's gone." Percy broke down, his mother's arms wrapped around him. "I don't know how I'm going to tell Annie."
"One step at a time, I know things are hard."
"HE WAS BARELY SIXTEEN!"
"I'm so sorry, you can't bring him back."
"But I could."
"Perc-"
"The gods ask for so much but they can't bring back a single person who died fighting for them!?"
"You know they're cruel,"
"I can't do this anymore."
"Leo, you feeling okay? Physically."
"I'm fine."
"Do you want to talk about Jason? I know he was your best friend, he was one of mine."
"He- he was my boyfriend, surprise." He didn't give him any time to answer before continuing but he could see the sympathy is his eyes. "Percy you've lost so many people, how do you keep going on? How do you carry on every day knowing you'll never see them again?"
"It's not easy, especially at the beginning. Somedays it's hard to go through wit somedays your fine, somedays you wish you could join them. They say time heals, that's not exactly true, but people help you heal, if people want to help, let them, even if you don't think it will. I know you want to run away, I know everything seems pointless but right now the worst thing is to be alone."
"I've lost my mum, I've lost Jason, who's next? I have no family that wants me, and my whole life's being controlled by the gods who don't give a shit about us."
"I probably shouldn't be saying this but... do you want a smoke? That's what I've been doing for the past few days, I know it's unhealthy but it... helps."
"Yeah, thanks Perce."
"Can I... show you something?"
"Yeah, you alright?" A tear fell from his eye,
"Ever since Jason- I just couldn't take it anymore... I... I need... some h-help, please." Leo rolled up his sleeves, his arms covered in burns; his breath was unsteady almost scared. "S-sorry." Percy pulled him into a hug,
"You don't have to apologise, I know it seems pointless to go on, I have scars to." Percy turned his forearm revealing pale scars all over his arms.
"But-t you're... you're... THE Percy Jackson, you've been on so many quests and you're so strong an-"
"That's what people thought, I still haven't forgiven myself for Bianca's death, or Beckendorf's or Luke's. But at some point you have to keep going on, you can't spend the rest of eternity grieving. Instead live for them, live to show their sacrifice made a difference because at the end of the day... you can't bring them back."
"How do you find the courage to try."
"You don't just wake up one day and suddenly be okay, it takes time, maybe your life won't be the exact same, but you have to keep living. I can't pretend I've gotten over Jason's death, I've been high a lot in these past few weeks... but I know at some point I'll have to move on."
"Thank you for everything Percy."

S5 Headcanons Part 2!
Also SkullAmiGorai mention hehehoohoo
Mask
Real name is Jacklyn, but they typically go by Jack
Got the ‘tism
Half sharkling. Bro doesn’t have a tail, but he’s got some fins peaking out behind his back and some razor sharp teeth. Munch munch munch. Their eyes are also a little weird looking too
Shady is his cousin btw. They keep in touch sometimes but they’re not that close
Omnigender, uses he/they/bro pronouns. They started using bro” as a neopronoun for shits and giggles at one point until it kinda just became an actual neopronoun for him because they like it
Also Omnisexual and panromantic. Why is everyone so attractive???
Tall. Scrawny as hell. Eat a sandwich, bloke
Makes the most lewd jokes out of the group. Bro even grosses Aloha out sometimes-
Mask: “I need her to bend me over the stove and spank me with a spatula-“
Aloha: “WHAT HAPPENED TO HELLO????”
Very congested voice. That’s hay fever. He gets it from his father, who got it from his father, and so on
“Nice argument, unfortunately I am at your front door with a blunt object” — debating online about which character should be invited into smash bros
I know his bitch ass kins that motherfucker Sal from Sally Face
Favorite video game would have to be portal 2. He’d like the plot, the story, and bro would love Glad0s to pieces 10/10 villain, she’s a mood. They also like RPGs, plenty of which he’s download off of an itch.io knockoff
This fool STANKS. Like, bro smells like cheap cologne and 50 day old stale pizza. Take a bath
The rest of the S5 and Mask’s family have definitely tried to give him a bath before. They failed 😞 /j
Just kidding, Mask showers once for two whole days. Sometimes they’ll go for three days
Has multiple socials. Bro doesn’t post much other than some random funny videos they catch of the boys doing stupid shit and cackling at them when they get hurt in the most ridiculous ways
Is actually depressed. Bro was acting like an edgy teen back when they were 14, but as they got older they did actually start developing depression. Bro isn’t suicidal or anything, or at least they don’t actively seek to harm themselves, but bro has this kind of… Depressive symptom where they would just have a lack of care for if they like got killed all of a sudden, even almost hoping it would happen. Instead of being all mopey and sad and crying themselves to sleep at night, Mask is really just in a numb state. They just don’t care about anything. They still pull through because of all their family and friends, and bro knows that leaving those people in his life wouldn’t do any good.
Bro gained his depression from his mom suddenly passing away when he was 18. She died in a horrible car crash. They were even the first to find out because he accidentally stumbled across the scene. It wasn’t too far from where they lived. Thankfully, Mask is seeing a therapist, but he’s having trouble opening up still.
Acts like a cat. Loves to cuddle, really lazy with their movements and mannerisms, and love bites. Nibbles on your hand like a creature
Plays the chello. At first he started playing because he thought that the low pitch of the chords were edgy, lmao, but then the sound of it felt soothing and it ended up growing on him. Bro plays it whenever he’s stressed out over something or if he just needs a moment to clear his mind. It helps them think better, too. He’ll play for you if he feels like it or if you ask nicely, but he’s usually shy about it.
Crusty gamer, but they have a beautiful face. Aloha dramatically passed out when he saw Mask’s true face
Mask doesn’t really like to take his mask off in general. At first it was so bro could look scary and intimidating when bro was younger, but now it’s because they value their privacy. Plus, they find comfort in their anonymity. They typically keep it off when they’re at home or at a trusted friends house
Aloha’s octoling roommate, Lilith, creeped the shit of him when they first met, even though they were kinda similar in how they acted. Bro was just really off put by her gigantic size and build, and the fact that she was missing an eye and had previously been part of the Octarian army—as an army captain no less—oooh bro had the heebie jeebies! They actually ended up becoming friends after they just trauma dumped to each other one night during one of Aloha’s parties. There were tears and ugly sobs involved. Now? Don’t tell anyone, but Mask thinks she’s fine as hell (they like their women buff).
Seriously though, now Mask is practically head over heels for that woman. He never wants to admit it, and he gets all defensive when people bring it up, as it’s mostly because she’s afraid of finding out and potentially beating his ass over it, or just having to face the reality that she simply may not be interested in them. That alone was enough to leave an emotional bruise on em.
Hangs out with Bobble, even though her smile used to erk him to the end of the world. He also likes hanging out with Goggles, too. The both of them treat Mask nicely and bought him a game that he really wanted for their birthday, so now Mask feels like he’s indebted to them (that’s what he says, but bro just likes hanging out with them)
Real chill about it when Army came out as an octoling—he also then came out as a sharkling at the time, too. He was also the first to find out about Army having a crush on Goggles and he tried to hook ‘em up just for shits and giggles, and sort of to see what would happen. Bro did feel happy when they got together, but then they got flabbergasted when the two of them also got with Rider and Skull— “Wait, did I miss a few chapters? What the hell”
Skull
His real name is Sloan
Autism hiding up in here somewhere. Adhd, too
Also gay. Unlike Rider, he’s more open about it—or chill at least
He’s a kraken squid, one of the strongest creatures in the inkling and octoling genuses. Being a kraken squid not only gives him more animalistic traits in the way he acts, like being territorial and prone to snapping his teeth and growling, but he also has bones. Krakens are one of the only ones, besides leviathans and some sharklings, to have bones in the cephalopod class
That being said, he’s broken an arm at one point. He mentions it every so often like it was a fever dream and people look at him alarmingly because the way he broke his arm sounds absolutely agonizing
Besides the E-liter, he also likes using the krak on splat roller
Likes to wear goth punk style, either that or punk rock
Gives the most bombastic side eye
He says he tone deaf when he sings, but he can actually sing pretty good. It’s really soothing. He’s just really shy about his singing and uses it as an excuse not to sing. You gotta bully him into doing it (don’t do that tho, not nice) He can also rap pretty good, too. And he’s really good with the bass guitar and regular guitar
Has really beautiful tanned skin, because he stands out in the sun all day holding his e-liter in matches and he’s Scalican and knows Coralish (Splatoon pun of Mexican and Spanish) he’s got a bunch of tan lines, too
But what if he had a southern accent? 👀 (I WANNA BE A COWBOY BABYYYY)
He’s been wearing his skull bandana for the longest to hide his sharp ass teeth to try to avoid people from getting spooked of him. Well, the skull on his bandana didn’t really help all that much, but he actually kinda liked the style because he felt intimidating for another reason other his real teeth.
He’s naturally strong as hell and tall as a skyscraper because he’s a kraken squid, and he’s been like that since he turned 14. It’s because of that lots of people are always intimidated by him, even when he tries to prove he’s docile (Kind of a discrimination thing he’s gotta deal with everyday 😞). But deep down he’s a gentle giant. Really trustworthy man, too. He also has sharp claws; they’re very pretty
Got into a few fist fights, some double sided and… one sided, between him and some drink tampering shmucks Aloha would catch at his parties or at his parents’ bar. He’s never started a fight, but he has sure as hell finished them all
He’s kinda insecure about handling kids and hatchlings. He loves them to death, but because of his giant, intimidating feature, he knows he’d be prone to accidentally freaking younglings out. It also has to do with the fact that his hatchling cousin started crying really hard the millisecond Skull tried to hold them in his arms one time back when he was like 12; He still hasn’t gotten over it. It’s kinda ironic though, because despite his intimidating form, lots of younglings and hatchlings actually really like him right off the bat. It’s probably because he’s actually really good with kids in general. He’d play with them, keep them out of trouble, and just knows what they’d need on a whim. He’s your go-to babysitter kind of guy
His favorite pastries are cannolis, his favorite cakes are cheesecakes, and his favorite candy would be all three flavors of chocolate. He had a crisis when he had to choose one team during the chocolate splatfest
Really territorial about his food. He growls if you get near him while he’s eating food, especially sweets. Not only that, but he’s even worse when he’s with a significant other. He’ll straight up snarl at you if he feels like you’re bothering them. He’d even snap his teeth like a dog at you. Leave him alone to cuddle with his boyfriens >:(
He does also growl and snarl when he senses danger, if he’s pissed off, or if he just wants to be left alone in general. He’s got a low, deep growl that can pierce your soul. It’s some freaky shit. It makes for a good warning to not cross him, cuz he will fuck you up bad.
He also purrs a lot, and LOUDLY. He loves to purr, it’s his own way of showing affection. He also likes to nibble, whether it be on your hands, neck, ear, anywhere. He’ll also play bite and it‘s so ticklish. He’s like a doggy 💜💜💜
He had a crush on Mask once, back when they played in Inkopolis Plaza, but it was mostly because bro was so affectionate with him. Mask was actually his gay awakening before he decided that he liked imagining Mask as more of a friend. Mask also made for a great wingman, anyways.
Skull fell for Goggles the same reason he fell for Mask, because he was so nice and affectionate with him—even though he flashed him to the public in the square (you had to be there). He was also intrigued by him because he admired how Goggles faced him so determinedly, even after Goggles lost against him. He was the first person who wasn’t afraid of Skull, and that really did confuse him for an extended amount of time
There’s also Rider; He got the feels for Rider after he faced up against Emperor. He too admired Rider for his determination, and that was when he began to realize he had a type—and that he was poly. You could also say their pep talk they had before Rider faced Emperor’s team had played a part in it. They also got closer during the ranked battle championship arc.
As for Army, well, he and Army bonded when he found out Army was an octoling. Skull kinda related to him, as he was also seen as different from other inklings in society because of his large and intimidating structure—though Army didn’t really have to face that, but he was shamed for who he was by his grandad so that was something he and Skull had somewhat in common. He was also there to comfort Army when he was going through it with his grandad getting arrested and everything. He even offered him a place to stay if he needed, even when Army assured that Goggles’ parents were happy to have him around. He’s also really grateful for the fact that Army always makes sure to be his reminder for a bunch of things and also keeps him from getting lost, and his curry is YUM YUM YUM (proof that good food makes a even the bad bitches fold)
He and Aloha’s friend, Lilith started out a bit rocky, but then they grew to have a mutual trust in each other. They also ended up becoming friends after Lilith heard him singing and started singing along (they’re both shy about singing)
Weekly ink rifle meet up with Headphones and Half Rim. Eventually they started inviting N-Pacer! It’s just when they spend the day doing friend stuff, cuz theyre friends now :)
Rider
Real name is Roe
Is BRI’ISH. Heavy British accent boi; “oi my names Rida’ ”
Dude is so tone deaf. But he can keep a beat pretty well. He’s tried to play the drums at one point, but he hasn’t played in a while. He has to have his drum set hiding in his house somewhere
Socially detached. He was taken advantage by other kids a lot when he was younger, and those memories never left him. He’s also had a few issues growing up, too, especially without his dad.
His father left him and his mom before he and his sister were even born. He doesn’t even have a good idea as to what he looks like since his mom took down every photo in the house that he was in since he left them. His mom refuses to ever mention him, and if Rider ever does she’s quick to change the subject. All he knows is that he inherited his father’s voice, and both he and Platinum inherited his nose and lips. Rider never knew why he left. But truth be told, he doesn’t care no more, he’s got so many more people to worry about nowadays
Coming back to edit this part: He has a twin sister and a twin brother btw. He’s one of three triplets. His sister’s real name’s Rinet (it’s Renet but it’s just spelled differently) and his twin brother’s name is Ryan. Rinet’s nickname is Platinum while Ryan is Rockin’. Platinum wears the white inky rider and she mains the golden aerospray, while Cooler wears the Rockin’ leather jacket and mains the Golden Enperry Dualies. Rinet’s kinda an asshole but she’s a pretty fun friend to have around. Ryan is more laid back and a “go with the flow” kinda guy, but literally he doesn’t care about a lot of stuff. Rider and them all used to be on the same team until he got sick of Rinet’s shit because he thought she was such a snooty player and decided to go his own way while Rinet left with Ryan. Eventually, Rider found his own team that he has now. Every so often, if one of his teammates get sick or unavailable, Platinum will automatically fills in for them, and if not her, then it’ll be Rockin’ .
Platinum doesn’t play turf war or ranked battles that much. She’s mostly seen doing Grizzco shifts to try to help her and Rider’s mom pay the bills and get their mom closer to retirement; it’s also to save up money for college. Rockin’ and Rider wish she would quit someday, as they don’t trust Grizzco industries and their “policies” and work environment. Rider doesn’t admit it, but he worries about her a whole lot. Rockin’ does his best to keep an eye on her, mostly by tagging along with her in salmon runs as joint workers.
He’s pretty skilled with the E-Liter. He likes to stick with the no-scope; inspired by Headphones, in purpose of keeping an eye on his team.
He and Wireglasses weren’t related. They did grow up in the same neighborhood as kids, before Wireglasses moved to Splatsville with his parents. It made Rider kinda sad because they were actually good friends, one of the only real friends he ever really had before blue team. When they met again after he went to Splatsville, they gave each other a big ol hug.
His ass does not like Emperor. Emperor doesn’t like him either, except it’s more that he just doesn’t vibe with him, meanwhile Rider just LOATHES him to pieces. If they’re both in the same room, Rider will go out of his way to stand in the opposite side of the room just to be as far away from “that fancy ass whiteboy” as possible. It’s so ridiculously funny and more so when you remember that all of team blue are good friends with Emperor so it really ruffles Rider’s feathers.
He has nothing against Prince, tho. If the S4 say he’s cool, then he’s cool.
His mom is… She’s not perfect, to say the least. Who is, though? I mean, Sheena really did struggle to cope when he boyfriend abandoned her when she fell pregnant, with triplets no less. She absolutely refuses to drown her sorrows in alcohol and drugs, I implore her for that, but she was still incredibly depressed even when her kids came into the world. She was slightly neglectful during their first few years, and her parents didn’t bother to help her with them because she left them to be with her boyfriend, but they didn’t bother regaining contact even when she was struggling. Sheena got better eventually, especially after she started gaining more friends in the neighborhood who helped co-parent. Eventually she was able to get back on her feet and become the kind of parent she wanted to be for her three kids. Since then, she became a lot more energetic and bombastic, she had that cool aunt personality while juggling around two kids at the same time. She loves her babies to death, and she thinks it’s funny to kind of embarrass them in public all the time by giving them kisses all over their faces and head and giving them right hugs. Yes, it’s embarrassing, but Platinum, Rockin’ and Rider know that life would be a lot more duller without their mother around. 💚🤍🖤 (not me indulging in motorcycle mama 😭)
His mom’s part of a biker gang, and she has the nickname Rose because she wears a pink leather jacket that she got custom made. She’s got a sweet, red Road-King in the garage. She keeps saying that she’s gonna get Rider a black Road King someday when he’s old enough. Rider honestly doubts it, but don’t underestimate his mother’s determination to keep her word.
He’s honestly in no rush, really. In fact he’s afraid of getting back on the motorcycles again. He used to ride around on the back of his mom’s motorcycle and be part of “the gang,” but he take on a hiatus after a car accident that had him fist bumping death’s hand before he ended up in the hospital for almost a week with a scar that’s never gonna leave. He hasn’t road with her since, but even he admits that he wants to get back on it someday.
He’s pretty smart with cars and with motorcycles, too. He learned it all from his mom. Why go to the car repair center when you can take it over to his house to get it checked on? Charges a fair price, too. Rockin’ and Platinum like to help out too, but they’re much more experienced in motorcycles since they both own one and take of their own.
His right eye is partially blind from where he got sanitized. He would’ve felt more insecure about it if it weren’t for his boyfriends assuring him that he’s such a handsome boy every single day since they each of them got together.
Yes, he is built like a brick house. He swings a large mass of metal around like a wiffle bat everyday out in the battlefield. What else did you expect?
He’s so easy to scare, it’s hilarious. You can come up from behind him and go “BOO!” And he’ll jump a little and just glare at you. But if he gets really scared, like if he’s in one of those haunted house attractions, he’ll start screaming and slowly start falling to the ground in slow motion or just run off wordlessly. It’s even funnier because he’ll grab the nearest person he’s with and they’re both gonna eat shit together by falling or he’s gonna throw them over his shoulder and bull a skiddadle. Either that, or he’s just gonna run away so fast without saying anything; there was also this time he was playing basketball by himself in the evening and the lights suddenly went off and he SPED AWAY so fast you could hear the fear in his shoes when they squeaked. (That last part is based off a funny video I saw of a man running away when the streetlights went of). His ass does not like horror games, either
He has multiple pair of boots, and leather jackets.
He would absolutely wear the dreadlock hairstyle in Splatoon 3, he HAS too
He was very shocked to find out Army was an octoling, but he had his full support. But NOTHING could prepare him for when he finally met Goggles’ parents and learned that theyre octolings too. He likes them a whole lot, they’re very nice to him and they became friends with his mom when they all met each other at one of Goggle and Rider’s meet-your-parents dinner date
Ok so I’m so sorry I sorta just dumped my personal issues onto Mask that must’ve been really screwed up to read- (my mom didn’t die in a car crash but she had dementia and she died last year on new years). I was also indulging in Rider’s mom for a little bit, because, I wish my mom was still here to give me a bunch of kisses all over my face while I complain about people seeing us because- I miss that :(
Don’t worry about it 👍🏻
Also sorry for those who come back every so often and find out the headcanons have changed. I should probably just make part 3’s and 4’s but I don’t feel like it. I’m gonna do team blue at some point erp erp erp
And don’t look at me like that for also jumping on the oc x canon ship bandwagon with Mask. I just thought that they and Lilith would be silly together.
< Here’s the first part with Aloha and Army

Sallie Mae x GN bubbly reader (how ya'll met and relationship from then) (platonic to romantic)
i told ya'll now you get to see my brain rot :D
{btw if you want to meet her in a different way go ahead and do that this is my incite on how they meet to me}
Tumblr media
Platonic
. You got hired to help after the Striker incident.
.You were probably being harassed by her brothers and she deiced to step in for you so they would back off
. You thank her she ask if you were new around and of course you didn't give her a "straight" answer{hehe gay jokes}
. you two became friends quick after that helping her hide bodies wrangling the hell hogs messing with Moxxie over the phone with Mills
.you two of course had your highs and your lows out of it mainly highs tho
.you two always some how seemed to bring a smile to each others faces one way or another!
:Romantic {if you don't see her this way you can skip}
. She started to notice she had feelings for you at least three months after ya'll became friends
.She confessed by pulling you into one of the barns pinned you to the wall and kissed ya and said she liked you
.She laughed because of the amount of time it takes you to answer her.
.after being in shock for about five to ten minutes you said you liked her too with that little giggle she always loved to hear :]
.Now ma and pa was really happy about the relationship when they found out they were always fond of you
.You are like a ray of sunshine for the barn
.Always staying in a good mood rarely letting anything bring your mood down
(btw you are a sinner in this but if wish not to be than go right ahead!)
:But when that does happen lets say at one time at the harvest moon festival some guy kinda degraded you because you looked more human like than demon or hellborn. You had died due to your sin and landed in wrath because of it just because you died from it doesn't mean you always look the part!You had tears pricking your eyes at this point cause he wouldn't stop.
.After Sallie got done in the pain games{ i think that's what they're called i don't remember} and saw you leaving and said guy following you she kinda- what do mean "kinda" she got PISSED
.She followed you and the imp and saw you quit literally sobbing because the imp was saying : "You don't belong in wrath your too soft you belong in the city with the rest of those low life sinners how are you even in wrath your too weak to be rough or murderous I bet if was to hit you or merely grab you. You would die or break a bone!" which hurt you a lot.
.I mean you would have landed in pride or lust if that was your sin.
.There was a reason you were in Wrath that's why you're there
.lets just say while you were crying Sallie had another body to hide with you
.over all it's just a rough lovey dovey relationship. :D
.p.s. yes you two do wrestle in more then one way ;3
Tumblr media
I finally finished! i'm proud of this little piece of work i have done today.
I hope ya'll like it to see ya later fellow simps and sinners~

Anyone want my Jimmy Casket headcannons?
Jimmy and Sally are two of my favourite characters out of the lot, each for the opposite side of the scale.
I love Sally the way she is. I don't have alot of headcannon for her because I just loved how she was in the videos. While she wasn't the most serious, She's not completely naive to everything around her, and could absolutely be a little shit when she felt like it. The Alyx Vance playermodel fit her so well too- my neurodivengent ass loves the 6ft waffle-loving tomboy.
Jimmy, on the other hand, is great to dip into the headcannon soup: we barely know anything about him other than his name and what he wants to do. You can pull him in so many directions! Is he a demon bent on murder or a child corrupted by death? What's his and Johnny's history? Why does he want to kill? What's the secret he's hiding? Does Gregory fit into any of this?
2016-18 me loved him for edgy reasons and 2023 me loves him for nostalgia, so here's my headcannons for him, for how he came to be, relationships with others, and any extras.
god this took like 3 days holy shit
Life
1800s
Gregory Casket was born in the 1800s, an only child, to Lacey and Nathan Casket. It was long and tedious pregnancy, with many complications, but they managed pulled through, their son in tow. After all of that, they both thought that everything would be fine, and they could take care of their little Gregory.
They were wrong. When Gregory was nearing a year old, a shaded creature attacked the parents during the night. Lacey suffered a shash to the neck and Nathan lost an arm and chest in a bid to save his family. The creature was about to leave when it heard the cries of a baby from the upper rooms. Following the cries led it to Gregory, crying from all the noise downstairs.
When police got to the house minutes later, they found two dead bodies, and a lost child. Two days later, all three were pronounced dead.
With Cardboard Friend
It fled to a rundown house, carrying the baby in its arms. It doesn't know what urged it to care for him, but now it has a kid. Making sure he was comfy enough to fall back asleep, the creature was thinking hard about the sudden task it brought upon itself. First things first, the kid can never know the truth. About his family, about it, about the outside world.
With how young he was, Gregory would never know who his parents were, so there was one thing scratched off. It had heard about some new thing made in England - Cardboard. Maybe that can help cover up some things.
Now for outside. Of course he'll get curious about what lies beyond the trees, and start asking questions... The idea sparked in its head: Lie! Just give little white lies. It'll satisfy his questions without risking more!
So Gregory grew up believing that he was dead, that he was a sort of purgatory to grow up until he was old enough to leave, and that Cardboard Friend was here to take care of him. He never questioned why CBF Never went out in the rain, or why he wasn't allowed in the woods. She was here to take care of him! She knew best!
Until she got wet, and spilled the truth. It shattered him to the core. Everything wasn't true? What about the trees? The house? Himself?! Horrified, he fled, ignoring her cries to come back. To let her explain herself better.
He ran into the woods, and never came back out. Cardboard Friend found him a week later, dead from eating poisonous berries.
1900s
Gregory was only 5 when he died for real. His ageing slowed down to a crawl, so growing up despite being dead was horrible. Unable to ask for help was just as bad, as no-one could see or hear him.
He spent time watching the world around him, trying to talk to kids of similar age to him (with no luck), having multiple Existential Crisis from being a ghost at a young age
Everything changed when he found Ghost.
He was a little younger than him, and blabbling to the cat plushie he had about anything he could think of. Casket responded like it was a conversation, not expecting him to stop and face him. They were both very surprised who he asked who he was and he responded, "er um... Jimmy!"
"... Hi Jimmy. :D"
They soon became friends. Ghost could often be seen talking to thin air or the cat plushie that his mother just caulked it up to imaginary friend, with some of her friends playfully teasing him about "your new friend" at times. Jimmy did not like those comments whenever he heard them. He isn't anything like Cardboard Friend! He is real! He just looks a little funny. Don't listen to them Johnny, please!
However, he was the one to get Johnny curious about the paranormal growing up. After all, if he is real, but only he can see him, then he's a ghost, right? So how does being a ghost work?
They stayed as friends until Ghost met Toast through a late start to school and he started hanging out with him more and more over the years. Jimmy got very jealous over this, not willing to share friendships. This jealousy only helped to drive Ghost away, and spark the argument that made Johnny tell him to leave him alone. He's done with him and his nonexistent ass. Jimmy, very hurt and angry, does so since he can't convince Ghost otherwise, but not before threatening his return.
First kill
Jimmy had become very spiteful in the time between the argument and his return. He felt hurt ok?! He's lost his only friend to some posh British dude, everyone thinks he's someone's mind figments, and he doesn't know how to prove them otherwise! God sometimes he felt like punching people in the face.
His spite and desire for violence built up and up until he couldn't take it anymore. One dusk, when Ghost was fast asleep, Jimmy came back. He borderline pounced on him in order to scare him awake - next thing he know he was in Ghost's body. It was a massive shock, seeing his brown eyes go wide back at him with a greenish hint in the mirror. After being dead for so long, having a body again was... amazing. After the shock had worn off, he started cackling, still starting at his reflection in near manic ecstasy.
But his moment was cut short when Ghost's mother, who was making dinner in the kitchen, came into the room wondering why her son was suddenly laughing like a Kookaburra.
Jimmy was not about to let go of his body after a short time, so he bolted out, trying to get away. He ended up in the kitchen, with the mother trying to talk to (who she thinks is) Johnny about what's going on with him.
The knife left on the counter was within arm's reach, and it was a split-second decision that ended up with him plunging it into her chest, killing her.
He just stared. Just yesterday, he couldn't do anything, and now he's killed someone. He has actually killed someone! Someone is Dead! Because of him!
Something in him that had been cracking for years finally snapped as the laughter came back, louder and with more ferocity. Gregory Jimmy Casket was back, and he's making damn well sure noone's forgetting him when he's done.
When he got kicked out of control, he watched as Johnny freaked out at the sight of his dead mother and the bloody knife in his hand, frantically running to the landline to call Toast, but he didn't reveal himself, drinking in his panic. What happened that night will be his own little secret.
Current days
Compared to where he started off, he's alot stronger thanks to all the murder. So strong in fact, he could just make himself a physical form and just leave Johnny, but he's gotten used to being the voice within Ghost's mind, plus it's more energy efficient, so he stays.
Physical Appearance
(Please read first: while I do have eye refs, here's no full body ref sheet because I hated how it looked, and felt that typing it out would be easier.)
Jimmy is pale, very scrawny and short, littered with scars up to the eyeballs, but makes up for it in agility and flexibility. His hair is a brown rat's nest; at first it was thick and long due to it not getting cut, but at some point it was getting in the way, so he cut it himself. He did a terrible job at it, but it stays out of the way so it works for him.
He wears very simple and comfy clothing: a jacket that definitely didn't start off as a dark crimson and a white t-shirt. Both are obviously near falling apart with the amount of damage, missing bits, stains and stitches they're embroidered with. The jeans he has are equally ruined, main details being the massive holes at knee level and the scruffy leg openings. Jimmy runs around barefoot.
He's dirty from old blood and dirt, especially around his hands, knees and teeth. It's at the point that his hands and claws/nails are permanently stained with a red and earthly hue.
His bloodshot eyes, once a soft gray blue, are now a hard red. Like other ghosts, they act like cats eyes, with pupils reflecting any light shined into them. This also carries on to possession.
Eye ref here
Tumblr media
When a spirit, Ghost sees Jimmy as himself but more ragged and red eyed.
Attack types
Standard: the one he's most know for - chasing down victims while laughing all the way. He asks about his secret as a way to startle and distract so he can get a window to attack. It's like a game to him, and has easily won multiple times. Doesn't make the rush any less however.
Rage: this happens when he can't find his victim or by certain people. He's alot more destructive and focused, and will make more of a mess with his stabbings when he finds them. It's not a game anymore; it's a hunt.
Chill: sometimes he has the energy to kill, but not the energy to chase. So he'll stalk, staying quiet and light on his feet until he's right behind them, stabbing them fast and tight in the virals.
Relationships
Johnny Ghost - Neutral. Jimmy loves messing with him, but he also does hold a bit of fondness for him. They were friends once, after all.
Johnny Toast - Negative/Neutral. While he absolutely hates him, he has bigger fish to fry first before Toast is on the chopping block
Sally Acachalla - Negative. She's one of few who's managed to fight him off, so he both dislikes her and is scared of her. Bonus is that Jimmy won't target any of the Acachallas because of her.
Maxwell Acachalla - positive. They teamed up through scaring Ghost that one mission, and now they're friends! Through there are times where they seem to be more Father/Son.
Cardboard Friend - Negative. Never put them in the same room. Jimmy will go into a blind rage and attack her for everything she did to him. He'll be screaming in Ghost's head trying to cause a blackout just so he can get a chance for revenge.
Gavin Toast - ???. Sicko4Sicko. Jimmy is alot more friendlier and chattier with Gavin. Gavin is very suspicious about it though: does he actually like him or is this a trick to drop his guard down? Well, he's peaking his head over your shoulder; you'd already be dead if he wanted to.
Extra Info I can't fit anywhere else
Are Johnny and Jimmy related? Kinda. Nathan did have a brother that continued the Casket line, which produced Timothy Casket, then Johnny Ghost. The reason why Johnny doesn't share the same name is because Timothy took his wife's name, and offended, the in-laws disowned him. So by blood? They're distantly related through Nathan and his brother. By the eyes of the law? They're not.
He's a few inches shorter than Ghost, and doesn't get why Ghost hates being short. Your a harder target to hit why are you complaining?
He has eaten people. He will eat people. Multiple bodies have been chewed on. He was hungry. Why do you think his teeth are stained red?
He makes cat sounds. He will growl and hiss if angry/frustrated, might purr in his sleep (if lucky), and sometimes go 'mrrrp?' when something grabs his attention. Why? Because he wants to.
Can't stay still
While only Ghost and Gavin are the only ones that can see him, other can kinda sense him. If you feel eyes on your back or like your being watched, it's Jimmy.
Don't call him Gregory. Only CBF called him that, so you'll just send him into a rage, thinking that CBF is nearby.
He won't eat anything with 'Berry' in the name (Blueberry, Strawberry ect.)
Currently, Jimmy looks in his early 20s, while Johnny is in his late 20s/early 30s. Even with slow aging he has been around for over 200 years. He looked around 9/10 when 5-year-old Johnny first met him.
During Secondary school, Ghost clung onto Toast like a lifeline through all the stress he was dealing with, like the death of his mother, no home, and dealing with 'blackouts'. The classes that they didn't share (English and Biology) was when Jimmy showed up instead. English bored him so he acted out, but Biology was especially interesting to him and it became his favourite subject. It's why he's efficient at killing; he did 5 years of research.

Chapter VI: Friends In Heartache
Aubrey couldn’t focus on anything….
It’s so very hard to concentrate on anything these days.
She knew very well why…but try as she might, she couldn’t stop herself from thinking about what she could’ve…SHOULD’VE done differently.
Mari and Sunny were both dead. Basil was in a mental facility. And she felt like she was to blame for what happened to the boys….
She felt like Mari should hate her for what happened….
The teenage girl sighed as her mind was tearing itself apart. She was tired. She was sad. And yet, she couldn’t find it in her to cry or scream like she did when Mari died.
….
….
Once again, she found herself in the cemetery with the intention of visiting and talking to the deceased siblings…though she found an unexpected guest with her….
Kel.
He turned to face her, his initial happy-go-lucky smile a seemingly distant memory, “Hey….”
“Hey.” Aubrey replied. She was still surprised that, ever since Sunny died, he hadn’t shown any sort of hostility towards her like she expected.
She chose to not think about it for now….
“How are you doing?” She asked, trying to maintain a calm conversation. The older teenager shrugged, “Alright, I guess…. You here to visit Sunny and Mari?” The girl nodded, before the two walked over to the siblings’ graves.
Aubrey and Kel sat at Sunny and Mari’s headstones, before the former asked, “Be serious, Kel. How are you feeling…?” “Awful….” The taller teenager sighed with a sad expression.
“I can’t find it in me to smile or be happy anymore.” He added. “Spending time with Hero and Sally and you are all that’s keeping me from going down a dark path….”
Kel curled up a little, “Do we even know if Basil’s doing alright…?” “No….” The girl answered with a heavy sigh. “Tried to talk to Polly, but…no solid answers other than him still being in the mental ward.”
The two went silent.
….
….
“I liked him, you know. Sunny….” Kel admitted. “I…don’t know why, but I…liked him more than a friend.”
Aubrey leaned against him, “I also liked him….” “I don’t know if it was…romantic feelings or…simply familial attachment.” She confessed. “But it was certainly more than a friend.”
She then looked up at the taller teen as she heard a hiccup.
Kel was crying. “Why…?” He asked through tears. “Why did this have to happen…?”
Aubrey hugged him tightly, whispering as she tried to keep herself from crying, “I don’t know….” “I feel like…I was a terrible friend….” Kel continued, crying into the girl’s shoulder.
….
….
In the end, Aubrey found herself unable to respond to that…both because she felt the same and because she didn’t know how to reassure Kel.
Were they really bad friends?
Is that why Sunny and Mari died so tragically…?
She didn’t know….
Maybe they would never know….
Eventually, the two parted ways. Aubrey promised that she’d be back at Kim’s by dinner, while Kel needed to be home by curfew.
It’s strange….
They both loved Sunny…potentially in a romantic way…and Aubrey didn’t feel the slightest hint of jealousy. She’s not sure if Kel felt the same, but…she hoped that maybe she and Kel could connect and recover through that.
Maybe in another life, the three could’ve been an item….
A tiny small formed on Aubrey’s face, before it quickly disappeared.
In another life….

Chapter I: Siblings, Together Again….
Mari didn’t have a choice but to wait now….
All her efforts to help Sunny forgive himself for her accidental demise were now in the balance. He was in a hospital bed now…due to a confrontation with Basil….
She was scared….
Scared that Sunny wouldn’t make it to see the next day. Scared what might happen after he told everyone the truth of what happened to her.
The dead girl couldn’t do anything else though…besides waiting. And so she went through the hospital, hoping that their mother would come by and visit.
Maybe…. Maybe their mom could help Sunny more than Mari was able to do…in her ghostly form.
….
….
She HATED having to wait. She hated having to leave this all up to chance.
But she didn’t have a choice now….
She did all she could.
She could only pray that things would work out for the best this time….
-----------------------------------
The dead girl felt like she was in a nightmare…. Or my own personal Hell, for that matter.
It started with her realizing that Sunny was missing from his hospital bed. Then it led to her discovering him heading up to the room.
And just as she tried in vain to grab the boy and prevent him from jumping off the roof…
….
….
Sunny was dead now….
Lifeless on the pavement and sidewalk below…with Kel and Aubrey screaming horrifically and in agony as they saw him….
Everything Mari tried to do…. Everything she attempted to help her little brother forgive himself….
….
….
All for nothing….
-----------------------------------
She didn’t go to the funeral….
She felt like she didn’t deserve to see her brother one last time….
And his mutilated body would only be a reminder to her greatest failure….
Instead, she’s at home…going through the building one last time. It’s unnaturally quiet…. It truly was haunted now….
The dead girl went to the staircase, before entering the piano room. This was where it all went wrong.
And Mari hated herself for not noticing Sunny’s struggles sooner….
….
….
All that enjoyment of playing the piano vanished…just as quickly as Sunny’s life did….
Seeing the instrument only reminded her of her failure. It only made her angrier with herself.
It wasn’t long before Mari did something impulsive…by setting the piano ablaze. And at this point, she didn’t care about the consequences.
Sunny was dead. Gone. There was nothing salvageable in this building…. The only thing she wanted to do and the one person she promised to protect were both gone….
As she left the room, she froze in place….
Not because of her recent actions, no.
Rather, she heard a faint sob from upstairs…. And she KNEW whose voice it was making the cries.
Immediately, she went up the staircase and right into her and Sunny’s room.
And in some twisted form of a miracle…there Sunny was, curled up in his bed and crying. He was just like her. A ghost haunting the Earth….
He looked up from his position briefly, before freezing and backing up into the corner of his mattress. She could only assume that he was scared of how she might react….
…And that broke her heart irreparably.
Slowly, the dead girl made her way over to her brother, sitting with him. She then whispered, “You shouldn’t be here, sunshine…!” She wanted to cry, even though her tears had long since ran out.
The boy lowered his head, croaking out, “I’m sorry….” It’s all he could say to her. All he wanted to say to her.
After everything that happened, all he wanted to do was apologize to his sister.
It didn’t take any convincing for Sunny to suddenly lurch forward and hug his sister tightly, crying into her shoulder.
“I got you, baby brother….” Mari whispered, holding Sunny tightly in return, rocking him gently as he cried against her.
“I’m here…. I’m right here, Sunny….” She reassured. “I’m so sorry, baby brother….”
She wanted to apologize…for everything.
For not noticing Sunny’s struggles.
For not noticing why he wanted to participate in the recital with her so badly.
For yelling at him for getting frustrated.
For not doing enough to help him forgive himself.
For not being able to protect him.
For failing him.
….
….
But to Mari, not a single word would be enough to apologize for any of that.

Dark! Percy Part2
I've already written a plot for this series. I plan to write five parts. Maybe someday I will change my idea lol.
If you like my work pls let me know. I'm really not a good writer.
(idk why i would let Sally die so quickly)
The Jackson-Blofis family was in the hospital. Annabeth was there, too. Percy was looking forward to his little sister. Just yesterday, Sally smiled and told them things would be fine. She would be okay and a new family member would come.
In the afternoon, Percy heard the crying voice of the newborn baby. But some cries and shouts came after. He recognized that it was Paul’s voice. Meanwhile, he saw his stepdad holding a beautiful baby in his arms. But there was no happiness on his face.
“What happened?” Percy asked. Paul’s face was in deep sorrow. Percy realized something was wrong. He rushed into the delivery room. There his mom lay. The red color was on the sheet and clothes.
“Mom, no!!! Mom...” Percy shouted in pain. But the woman lying on the bed was no longer listening. There was a slight smile on her face. Her eyes opened like she was dreaming of tomorrow, days living with her two children and her beloved husband.
He raised his head, staring at the doctor. “What happened?” The pain on his face was obvious. “Too much blood.” The doctor answered, hands spreading out. “Improper fetal position, resulting in excessive bleeding. There is nothing we can do.” There was no apparent emotion in his voice. They are doctors, they had seen many moms die of this.
Percy was angry. He blamed the hospital for not allowing him to stay with his mother, blamed the Gods for leaving his mother dead, and blamed the doctors for they had nothing to do. He didn’t realize what his anger might cause. His vision became unclear and red, like the color of his mother’s blood.
The saline in the ward exploded. Then the oxytocic pack boomed, it was connected to his mother’s hand. The walls were shaking, for Percy’s anger shook the water in the pipes and the ground beneath. It was terrifying for the doctor and all the people in the building. But they didn’t realize that all this was because of the son of Poseidon.
Annabeth spotted the coming danger. She rushed into the room and saw his boyfriend standing there. She heard pipes exploding sounds and she shouted to Percy. “Stop! Percy! Don’t! You’ve promised me!”
Percy felt Annabeth shaking him. When he realized what he had done, he slipped down and buried his face in his hands.”What I’ve done...” The shaking became gentle, then none.
Percy didn’t realize this was his first time shaking the ground.
When they came back home, Percy and Annabeth comforted Percy’s scared stepfather. After they made sure Paul would be okay, they went to Camp-Half Blood together.
Annabeth tried her best to comfort her sorrowful boyfriend. She was sad, too. For Sally to her was her friend, and would be her mother-in-law in the future. They spent many hard times together and they planned to have a trip together after Percy and she got married. But all this was gone.
Every time Annabeth tried to talk to him about his mother, he always blamed the Gods. He told Annabeth all this because they wanted to bring pain to him. He blamed Hera most because his family was broken now.
He must be angry with the Gods at the time, for the ground was shaking slightly.
Annabeth quickly took action. She first complained about Hera and her stupid ideas. Then suddenly turned everyone is mortal. She tried her best to tell him that his mother died of natural causes and that the Gods couldn’t change one’s life.
She knew it wouldn’t convince him. But this was all she could do for him. She knew Percy needed something to make him happy. But now they needed to hold Sally’s funeral first.
It was a small funeral. Only a few people attended. Percy and Annabeth didn’t expect Poseidon’s arrival. He came to say the last goodbye to his lover, the queen among all women. Percy had never seen his father being so sad. When the funeral came to the end, Sally’s coffin floated on the sea. Percy knew it would be carried by the currents and to the place where his father chose for his mother. Poseidon told him the place, so Percy jumped into the sea and followed the currents. He saw Poseidon bury Sally and build a palace for her, for the last time.
After the funeral, Annabeth suggested that they should get married.
(idk if the plot is good, but i decided to work on it)

summary: Chris goes on a mission and doesn't return.
pairing: Chris Redfield x Reader
warning: mentioned of death. Lots of angst tbh.
word count: 2k
~~~~
You knew what you signed up for when you said yes to going on a date. You knew there was a possibility that he wouldn’t come home. It was a risk you were willing to take to be loved by him. And he did. He did love you. More than anyone. He promised to marry you one day. He said he wanted to have children and settle down in a small town and live out the rest of his life with you, but there was something he had to do first.
So he left. He had been gone for three months when Leon knocked on your door. You saw the look on his face and that’s all it took for your world to come crashing down.
You didn’t do much after that. You stayed inside, playing what Leon said over and over until you had cried yourself to sleep.
“There was a problem. He had to go back in, but…the place exploded. They never found a body. I’m sorry.”
You cried and cried and cried. For months that’s all you did. No one could come through to you, not even Claire, who was going through something similar. You hated that she was handling it better than you were.
Claire stayed with you, but it wasn’t long before she had to go back to work. You didn’t even say anything when she told you she was leaving, simply buried your head into Chris’s pillow. But when you heard the door shut, you cried harder.
She reminded you of him. Her stubbornness. Her attitude.
She wouldn’t let you wallow all day. She made you get up. Made you eat. Made you wash your hair even though it was the last thing you wanted to do. But that did stop you from dying inside. Your clothes started to hang off your body, it got even worse after she left. You sleep all the time but your eyes still help dark bags under them. You didn’t care. What was the point? You had no one anymore. You were a shell of the person you used to be. When he died, he took your heart with him.
Leon had taken it upon himself to make sure you were okay. He came ever so often, restocked the fridge, made sure everything was okay before he left again. But there was something about this visit that made him stay. He looked into Chris’s room, watching your unsteady breathing as you slept. Even asleep, you couldn’t function right without him, without Chris.
So when you woke up he told you he was moving in, to which you protested. You argued that you didn’t need anyone to take care of you, you could do it yourself.
“Look at what you're doing to yourself!” He argued, making you stand in front of your full length mirror. You glanced over yourself with teary eyes. Your skin was dull and your eyes lacked any sort of emotion but sadness. Your clothes looked two sizes too big and you could clearly see your cheek bones. You took in a breath and placed your hand over your mouth.
“Do you think Chris would want this for you?” Leon asked, cradling you in his arms. You shook your head as an answer and pulled him close. You missed him so much that it hurt. All you did was cry and sleep. Every little thing reminded you of him. This apartment reminded you of him. You knew deep down that you needed to leave to get better, but you were afraid you would forget him. And you didn’t want that. He was your first everything. And he was supposed to be your last, you hated that he wouldn’t get to be.
You decided a couple days later that you would be moving in with Leon. Just until you felt like you could make it on your own again. And it was great. You applied for a job, to get your mind off of things. Although you had been working at the BSAA at the time of Chris’s….. You decided it was best that you found another, one that would get your mind off of him instead of filling it with the memories you both had together.
You did find one, pretty quickly actually.
You stuffed the tip the lovely couple left you into the pocket of your apron and headed to the back with the empty plates and cups.
“Did you see the way that guy was staring at you?” Trisha, my new friend and coworker, says as she walks inside the back beside me. You groan at her eagerness and place the dirty dishes on the tray to be washed.
She giggles and walks with you back out Into the front where you start wiping down the front counter.
“Yes. I did notice, Trish.”
She begins to gush as to how cute you both would be and how perfect your children would look.
You avoided the conversation all together, the way he stared at you sent shivers down you alone and triggered memories you didn’t want to remember in that particular moment. Your heart began to ache again. Luckily, you got to head home early today.
You were ready to talk about what happened with Leon, who surprisingly had the day off.
“Why haven’t you told her?” Leon asked, setting the table for dinner. You shrugged and picked at your nails as you leaned up against the kitchen counter.
“She’s your friend. You need to tell her.”
“I don’t like talking about it.”
“We’re technically talking about it now.”
A huff leaves your lips and you fall into your seat at the table. You glance up at him for a moment. He stared down at you with his arms folded over his chest and a knowing look etched across his face. You look around the room, trying not to give into his stare. You notice another plate set and you ask him about it, to which he responded:
“First of all, don’t change the subject. Tell her. And second, Claire is coming over.”
You mumble under your breath and fold your arms, like a child. Leon chuckles.
“I love you. And I love that you’ve found someone you clicked with aside from the cat down the street.”
You go to protest but you're cut off by the sound of the door bell ringing. You get up and walk alongside Leon to answer the door, grumbling under your breath. Claire stood there, an unreadable expression on her face. You hadn’t taken notice of the tall man standing behind her. But when you did, your eyes began to fill with tears
“There’s something I need to-“
“Chris?”
His eyes meet yours for a short moment before he’s crashing into you. His arms wrapping around your waist tightly, afraid if he let you go he’d lose you all over again. You were in shock. Your body is frozen and not yet reacting to the feeling of him. It was familiar and warm. It was what you ached for when you woke up in the middle of the night. It was what you were missing when he was gone, when you thought he was dead.
“Princess?”
The nickname. It reached out and pulled you in. You reacted instantly, a sob leaving your lips and you grabbed him and held him tightly.
“I thought - I thought -“
“Shh. I know. I’m here now.”
You rest against his chest, his scent radiating over you, making you cry harder. He had come back to you. This had to be a dream, you were scared to death that it was.
“It’s been 7 months, Chris. Where were you?”
Leon glanced down at the sleeping girl as she snuggled into her returned lover. She fit so perfectly in his arms, he couldn’t lie. He was happy that she got him back.
“I had no choice but to stay away. There was…someone after me. I had to take care of the problem.”
“For 7 months? Do you realize how much that took a toll on her?”
Chris glared Leon down, who simply ran his hands over his face in frustration.
“She’s been a mess. Ask Claire.”
Claire adjusted herself comfortably but awkwardly in her chair. Her eyes trained on her shoes.
“Claire-“
“You weren’t here, Chris. We are so glad to have you back. But you should’ve called. Should’ve sent a letter. She was killing herself.”
Chris felt awful for what happened. He couldn’t let anyone know he was alive, it would’ve put them in danger. He hopes one day they’ll understand that. He knew you would.
He explained it to them. How everything went down, and why he had to do what he did to keep them/you alive.
“Tell me. How was she?”
Leon explained it to him as simply as he could. How she wouldn’t eat, didn’t go out, barely talked at all. Chris hugged her tighter to his chest as he soaked in everything. Every word that came from Leon’s mouth made him grimace.
“She’s taking pills to help her sleep at night. She’s even got a job down the street. Working at Sally’s.”
“We’ll I’m here now. And I don’t plan on going anywhere.”
It was the next day when you woke up. You jumped out of bed and looked around. You were alone. Tears entered your eyes as you had come to the conclusion that it was a dream. Chris wasn’t here. He didn’t come home. You sat down on the bed and sobbed, holding your hands to your chest.
“Baby? What’s wrong?”
Chris rushed towards you and bent down to meet your eyes. They widened and relief spread through your body like a wildfire. You wrapped your arms around his neck.
“God, I thought it was a dream.”
Chris chuckled under his breath and lifted you up by your thighs. He turned and sat on the bed and readjusted you so you were sitting comfortably on his lap. You squeal and giggled as he sat you down, smiling and pecking his lips.
“I’m sorry I was gone so long.”
You shake your head and peck his lips again.
“I'm glad you're here. Chris, I -“
“They told me everything. I’m done. I’m retiring. And I’m going to give you that life I promised you.”
Butterflies filled your stomach and you couldn’t help the tears that slid down your face. Excitement isn’t a big enough word to describe how you were feeling. You were so happy to have him back. It felt like years since he had been gone, not even gone. You thought he was dead, in your mind you were never getting him back. But here he is. He has you in his lap, his hands resting on the curve of your hips, fingers tracing soft shapes into your exposed skin. Your eyes locked on each other, basking in the moment that you wanted to last forever.
He was home.
He was home in your arms.
“Marry me?”
hello hello, i just posted this fic right now.
below the cut is an alternate ending to the fic because i hate writing angst and i needed some serotonin. but please read the fic before reading the alt. ending<3
-
Getting to the Underworld was a lot easier when she had a child of Hades as her friend. Nico shadow traveled with her to his father’s palace, leaving them right outside the doors. “Thank you,” she said, staring up at the doors.
“No problem. You sure you want me to leave, though?” he asked. Annabeth nodded.
“I’ll be fine,” she said. She had Mrs. O’Leary’s whistle in her pocket. Technically that was Percy’s possession, but the hellhound had always loved her too so she hoped it would still work.
“Okay,” Nico said quietly, somewhat awkward. “See you later, then.”
“Bye,” she replied, and then she was alone. Taking one heavy breath, Annabeth pushed through the doors of the palace.  “Lord Hades!” she yelled, walking in.
He materialized in front of her. “What a nice surprise,” he said, his voice flat. “I love screaming children bursting into my home.”
“My apologies, my Lord. You know why I’m here, though.”
“I do,” Hades said. “But I can’t help you.”
He started to walk away but Annabeth followed. “Yes, you can!” she protested. “Percy saved the Gods, he saved you. He’s the only reason Camp Halfblood accepts Nico. He deserves a better life than what he got.”
“He… he made his choices,” he said, though he didn’t sound confident. It reminded her of what her mother said. Annabeth thought that was bullshit. He made his choices based on the circumstances. He would’ve never willingly chosen this life to begin with, none of them would.
“Do it to spite Zeus, then,” she tried. “This eternal feud with your brothers – this would piss them off pretty good!”
Hades stopped, like he was considering it. The silence grew longer and Annabeth was almost worried she’d crossed some line. But then he turned.
“Okay.”
She blinked. “Okay?” she asked.
Hades nodded. “You make good points. He saved us and he’s befriended Nico, I do appreciate those things,” he said. He grinned, a sight that sent shivers up her spine. His smile had an unintentional (or at least she hoped it was unintentional) evil to it that she didn’t like. “And it would be very satisfying to anger my brothers.”
Annabeth was stunned. This has been her entire goal but she was shocked it had actually worked. After what happened on Olympus, she had expected to walk out of there empty-handed.
“Th-thank you, Lord Hades,” she stuttered. “I can’t thank you enough. You have no idea how much this means to me.”
He nodded once before flicking his wrist. In a cloud of dark smoke, Percy appeared in the room with them. He was translucent but other than that, he looked just as he had before. Hades held up a hand to stop her from rushing forward. “You’ll walk right through him,” he said with a dark chuckle.
Percy stared at her, disoriented. Hades flicked his wrist again and Percy jolted, his body becoming solid again. Annabeth looked at Hades, who then rolled his eyes. “Go ahead.”
Annabeth launched forward, tackling Percy in a hug. He was still confused but his arms tightened around her. “Oh my Gods,” she mumbled. “I got you. You’re safe.”
“Annabeth?” he whispered, starting to regain his senses. She stepped back to cup his face.
“Yeah, Perce. It’s me. You’re safe.”
“I don’t,” he trailed off, blinking at Hades. “You brought me back?”
“Your girlfriend was very insistent,” he replied with a shrug. Annabeth almost laughed. Percy blinked again.
“Thank you, Lord Hades,” he stuttered. “Thank you so much.”
The God nodded. “If you die again, you’re on your own,” he said with a smile. Another twisted-looking one that made Annabeth shiver.
She hugged Percy close again and they heard Hades sigh. “Okay, you guys are gross,” he said. It almost sounded like he was… teasing them? Annabeth laughed quietly, her cheeks flushing as she stepped back.
“Thank you again, my Lord,” she said. “We’re indebted to you.”
“Considering it a favor,” he replied. “Now get out of here.”
His wrists flicked and Annabeth was suddenly enveloped in darkness. Her eyes fluttered open, and she and Percy were standing at the New York entrance to the Underworld. With a delirious laugh, she tackled him in another hug. One that sent them sprawling into the grass. “Oh my fucking Gods,” she said, pulling him as close as she could.
“Annabeth,” he murmured, digging his face into her neck. She pulled back enough to cup his face.
“I’m so sorry,” she whispered. “I’m so, so sorry.”
“You don’t have to be sorry,” he replied, staring up at her in awe. “You got me out, Beth.”
“I know,” she said. Her emotions started to creep back up her throat and suddenly she was crying again. “But still. You- you died. That-“
“Wasn’t your fault,” he said, cutting her off. “It’s okay. I’m okay.”
Annabeth pressed her forehead to his. “I couldn’t do this life without you. I didn’t want to.”
“I know,” he whispered. “I’m right here.”
Annabeth sniffled and nodded before standing up, pulling him with her. “We should go see your mom,” she said. Percy’s eyes widened and something in him broke.
“Yeah,” he agreed. They walked there and she told him everything that had happened the past week or so. Getting out of Tartarus, defeating Gaia, visiting Sally, and then storming Olympus. He listened silently, their hands locked between them. Part of her was afraid to let go, as though this were some dream and he’d vanish if she released him.
They were stepping into the elevator, going up to the fourth floor, when Percy let out a quiet breath. “Why am I nervous?” he whispered. “It’s my mom.”
“You haven’t seen her in months, Perce,” Annabeth replied gently. “It’ll be okay.”
“Did you visit her much while I was… gone?” he asked. Annabeth nodded.
“At least once a week before our quest,” she said, a small smile gracing her features. She and Sally had gotten extremely close over the course of Percy’s disappearance. “I even slept in your bed a few nights because I had accidentally ended up staying later than I meant.”
He laughed quietly and dropped her hand to wrap his arm around her shoulders, pulling her into a hug. “Thank you,” he whispered. “You probably helped her so much.”
“She helped me,” Annabeth replied. In those months, seeing Sally had kept Annabeth from slipping away entirely. Sally made sure she stayed fed and well. If it hadn’t been for her, Annabeth would’ve withered away.
“I love you.”
Annabeth smiled and as the doors opened, she quickly tilted her head up to kiss him softly. “I love you, too.”
She took his hand again and they walked through the halls. Stopping in front of the door, Annabeth looked up at him. He lifted his hand, paused for just a brief second, and then knocked on the door. Annabeth held his other hand tight as they waited.
The door opened and then Sally Jackson was in front of them. Her hair was in a loose bun and her eyes were red. She stared at Percy, who was crying again. Honestly, Annabeth felt a bit like crying herself. “Mom,” he whispered, his voice cracking.
In an instant, their arms were wrapped around each other. It was a little funny now that Percy was taller, but that didn’t stop Annabeth from tearing up.
“My baby,” Sally murmured. “I love you so much, oh Gods.”
Annabeth saw Percy’s shoulders shake with silent sobs. Sally’s eyes opened just for a second, but she caught sight of Annabeth and regained enough sense to pull away. “Come inside, let’s get out of the hall.”
They were ushered inside and Percy was being wrapped up in another tight hug. Annabeth excused herself quietly, trailing down to the bathroom to wipe her tears away. She was so overwhelmed with emotion and she wanted to give them a moment alone.
When she returned, they had seemingly just broken apart. Sally turned that warm, loving gaze on Annabeth now and swept her up a hug. “I’m so glad you’re safe,” she said, and Annabeth melted. And then, much quieter, Sally whispered, “Thank you.”
Annabeth nodded and hugged her tighter. She caught Percy’s eye over Sally’s shoulder and he smiled at her. His mother had always loved Annabeth, but it must’ve been interesting to see how much closer they had gotten over the last year. Sally pulled away and looked at both of them.
“Well,” she said, huffing out a disbelieving laugh as she wiped her tears. “We should order some pizza and talk. Paul will be home in about an hour.”
They sat in the living room, Annabeth tucked into Percy’s side and she told Sally about what happened on Olympus and in the Underworld. She looked impressed at Annabeth’s determination. “Well,” Sally said with a gentle laugh. “At least I know I can count on you to take care of him.”
Annabeth wanted to cry. She had always been the one who was supposed to take care of Percy, and yet she had let him die. Instead of crying, because Gods, was she tired of it, she lifted her eyes to Percy. He was already looking back at her.
“Yeah, someone has to,” she said softly. Percy kissed her head.
“I’m glad it’s you, then,” he whispered.
Just then, the door opened and Percy tensed. “Honey?” Paul called out and Sally smiled.
“In the living room.”
“Did you end up…” he trailed off when he entered the room and his eyes landed on Percy. His bag, filled with school papers and his laptop, fell to the ground. “P-Percy?”
In a flash, Percy was off the couch and pulled into another hug. He and Paul had always been decently close, with maybe a hint of natural awkwardness settled between them. After being gone for so long, though, any residual tension had disappeared and they both seemed perfectly comfortable in a hug.
When Paul finally pulled back, he looked at Percy, then Annabeth, then Sally. “I don’t… understand.”
Sally laughed gently. Her mood had improved greatly since they had gotten to the apartment, for obvious reasons. “Come sit,” she said.
Halfway through retelling the story, the pizza got there and Sally brought it into the living room for all of them to dig into. Afterward, Paul nodded slowly. “This was definitely an interesting family to marry into.”
Annabeth laughed quietly and leaned further into Percy. She only had the stomach capacity for a single slice of pizza right now, despite not eating nearly enough the past few months. In a moment of bravery, she tilted her head up to brush her lips against his ear. “Good thing I’m already used to how crazy this family can be.”
His eyes snapped to hers and she smiled slowly. She remembered what he’d said about New Rome, how demigods could grow up, get married and start families. She wanted that with him and she wanted to be sure he knew that. Judging by the way he kissed her, in full view of his parents, she was fairly confident that he knew.
They stayed there on the couches for a while, catching up. Conversation rarely ceased and Annabeth smiled more in those couple hours than she had in the last six months. It was only about 8:30 when Percy had yawned for the millionth time. “Tired?” she asked gently.
He nodded, leaning against. She looked at Sally. “This one is about to pass out on me,” Annabeth said, nudging Percy who hummed. “We’re gonna head to bed.”
“Okay,” Sally said before getting up with them and wrapping Percy in another hug. Annabeth heard her whisper, “I’m glad you’re home,” to Percy.
“Me too,” he replied before pulling back. Sally didn’t hesitate to hug Annabeth again.
“I love you guys,” she said when she released Annabeth.
“Love you,” Annabeth said softly, smiling. Percy echoed the same sentiment, taking her hand and leading her down the hall.
Once they were safely in his room, he quietly locked the door and turned to her. “You know, if this demigod stuff doesn’t work out for me, I could be an actor.”
Annabeth raised her eyebrows. “Why’s that?”
His hands slipped under her hoodie, finding her waist and he pulled her closer. “I’m not tired,” he murmured, brushing his lips against hers. “I just missed you.”
“While I was right next to you?”
“Mhm,” he hummed. “I missed kissing you. Thought I’d have to wait a long time to be able to do that again. And now I’m back, and we’ve barely gotten to do any kissing.”
Annabeth couldn’t help the way her lips twitched upwards. “You would’ve waited that long to kiss me again?” she asked softly.
“I’d wait a million lifetimes if it meant I got to kiss you again,” he replied, his voice devoid of teasing. Finally, he was done with talking and he leaned down to press his lips to hers. Annabeth’s arms snaked up around his neck and she pulled him closer. Walking her backward towards the bed, he muttered against her lips, “I love you so much.”
“I love you, too,” she replied.
Annabeth hadn’t realized how much she’d missed the simple act of kissing him until now. All she wanted to do was get wrapped up in his touch, which wasn’t wise with his parents being down the hall.
For once, however, she decided as she pulled him into the bed with her, wisdom could wait.
Dick and Wally loved rom-coms. It was a public secret at the Mountain. At first if someone caught them watching, they would find an explaination as to why it was on or blame M'gann, but after a while (and too many "accidental" scenes of "Love,actually") they ran out of excuses and just gave in. Wally's all time favourite was "Four weddings and a funeral", while with Dick, it was a tie between "One day" and "When Harry met Sally" (because, friends to lovers). The first time they watched "Four weddings and a funeral" when the scene with the funeral passed,Wally turned to Dick:
"I want somebody to recite that at my funeral"he stated,mouth full of popcorn.
"Dude,why are you thinking about that??"Dick responded, still a bit shook from the emotional scene that just passed.
"Well, it could happen any day in our line of work, so I'm telling you, as my best friend, my requests"
"Pfft, any musical wishes?"Dick asked sarcastically, "Also,who do you think would read the poem anyway? I don't recall you having a husband last time I checked. And if you do, well, that funeral will be much sooner than expected, given that you didn't invite me to the wedding."
"Hmm" Wally furowed his brows, deep in thought, "I haven't figured out that one yet, but when it happens I bet it'll be my smoking hot, smart-ass girlfriend with whom I'll have at least two dogs".
Dick scoffed "Okay,sure Kid Mouth, lets lighten up a bit, we still have two weddings left"...
Every single time they watched the movie, the same conversation would come up and it would never get past the"Who will read the poem" part.
...
The night before Kid Flash officially retired, he and Dick watched their favourites in Wally's room one last time. After "Love,actually", "Notting Hill" and "Bridget Jones' diary" (it almost seemed like Wally had a thing for Hugh Grant,the blue-eyed,brown-haired heart throb) "Four Wedding and a funeral" got its turn. As the funeral scene was ending, Dick was ready to repeat the same sentences he always did during the years,but Wally's opening line surprised him:
"I've decided who's going to recite at my funeral" he said with a smirk(yet again, mouth full of popcorn).
"I hope you told Artemis cause she does not like surprises" Dick looked away, feeling a sting of jealously over a hipothetical situation. And even if it weren't, god forbid, Arty is his girlfriend, Dick snap out of it!
"Oh no, she doesn't, but she shouldn't be worried cause I chose you" Wally turned to Dick, who went through 17 different emotions in 3 seconds.
"Why me?" Dick asked after processing the newfound information for much longer than his mind usually did.
"Well, your my bestest friend in the whole wide world plus with how many times we've watched this masterpiece, I bet you know the poem by heart"
"Just because you love it doesn't mean it's a masterpiece" Dick tried averting from the conversation.
"I know, but it still is. You haven't responded"
"But its a love poem and most oftenly linked to these two guys!" Dick slightly raised his voice, panicking.
"If someone even tries to comment anything even slightly negative on that matter, they will be haunted by yours truly for the rest of eternity" Wally joked, punching Dick in the shoulder.
"So,will you do it?"he asked after few minutes of silence.
"Yeah, of course" Dick huffed "but don't you dare die any time soon!"
"Well, with Artemis' cooking, it might be sooner than you think" Wally grined,enjoying his best friend's company...
...
It was a rather gloomy day, although it wasn't raining. You'd think that rain was an essential part of every funeral, but people died throughout the whole year. Dick was sitting in the first row, next to Artemis and her mother, Barry and Iris, wearing dark sunglasses and a black suit. He felt a deja-vu, but unlike at his parents' funeral, he wasn't crying. Not that he didn't want to (he wanted to lie and weep and scream at the sky and curse into the ground all at the same time) it just wasn't his assigned role. Artemis was sobbing into her mother's shoulder, Barry's face was puffed, he definitely spent the night crying, same as Iris'. Dick couldn't cry in front of them, he was just Wally's friend. Who also got him killed. Wally was never supposed to get back into the superhero business and now he was gone. It was all Dick's fault. No one said that to him,but Dick knew it was the truth. And there was nothing more that Dick wanted than to dig up a hole and just die in it(that is actually a lie,more than that he wanted his best friend back) but unfortunately, that wasn't possible, so he got up to hold an eulogy for his (former)oldest,best friend.
Dick cleared his throat, checking if he actually had the strength in his voice to pull this of, and started: "Wally loved romantic comedies. He would cheer when it came to the happy ending and complained and cried when there wasn't. It was always easy to figure out Wally's emotions. When he was happy he smiled and when he was sad he ate 2 gallons of chocolate ice cream. When he asked me to read a poem from one of his favourite movies at his funeral I could see he was being serious. That was weird because: 1)he wasn't serious very often and 2)we were teenagers and you don't really think about these thing when you're a teenager. So here I am, today, respecting my best friend's,at the time,riddiculous wish."
Dick pulled out a piece of paper with the scribbled poem but then he stopped and put it away. Wally was right,he knew it by heart.
"Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West." Dick paused,trying to keep himself together.
" My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good. "
He whispered the last line,saying a final goodbye to the one that got away.
The sea
Feedback is apprechiated ;)
Percy was happy. The giant war was over, he was studying with Annabeth so
they could move to new Rome soon. He was happy….. until it happened.
The thunderstorm should have been a warning, a sign that the lord of the sky was angry but unfortunately Percy was tired of having to deal with the gods so he chooses not to notice it. He cursed himself for that later.
He had stood up early that morning, awoken by another dream about the hell he and Annabeth had gone through. His mom had already been in the kitchen and he was greeted by her with a warm smile.“ Bad dreams?“, She had asked softly. Percy had only needed to nod and she pulled him into a warm hug. He loved her hugs, he loved that she had forgiven him for being away for so long, he loved his mother for everything. She was the reason the sea inside him was calm.
“Thanks, mom I just wanted to get some fresh air.“, He had told while departing carefully. Percy was grateful for her but he still did not want her to worry too much. If he had only known that this was the last time his mom would hug him, he would have stayed in her arms forever.
Percy had taken his jacket and walked outside and then………
Thunder, a white light crashing down behind him throwing him forward with the price.
He lay still on the street while people around him ran out of their houses screaming in panic.
Percy‘s body was burning, he felt blood running down his forehead but all he could think about was his mom who had been exactly where the explosion went off.
The police later assumed that a lightning strike had hit the apartment by accident but Percy knew better. He was brought to a hospital even though his burns were only small.
He had insisted that he wanted to stay.“Please I have to see if my mom and my stepdad are okay!“, He had begged the paramedics but they did not stop their attempts to get him on the stretcher.“The fire brigade will find them kid. Everything is gonna be okay“, One of them promised but Percy saw in her eyes that it was a hollow promise. His heart ached in despair and when the doors of the ambulance closed tears fell down his cheeks.
The proof came when the police visited him after the doctors had checked him. They looked devastated, of course, no one wants to tell a son the message that his pregnant mother was dead. Percy took the news with a small nod. He could not do more not even cry. He had been through so much that maybe this last thing had broken something inside him. He could not believe that they would do this, that they would kill his mother after he saved them. His thoughts wander to Paul and his unborn baby sister that he has lost as well and the sea in him slowly starts rising.
Annabeth soon heard about his suspicion  She stormed into the small hospital room, her face tear-stained. He immediately wrapped her in a hug like it is her that is going through this tragedy.“Percy…...I…..I‘m so sorry.“, She sobbed.“It is not you fault wise girl….he did this.“, Percy claimed and he is surprised by the deadly calmness in his voice.
Annabeth looked at him in confusion but then she understood. Her eyes widened in shock.“No…... Percy……..he wouldn‘t……..“ She tried to say but her unbelieving in her own words stopped her. They both know Nico Di Angelo and they both know his mother died. Percy felt the waves crashing again his chest, he felt them threatening to burst out and so did his rage.“ Come on Annabeth you know Zeus. He is an arrogant asshole who just cares about himself! I fought years for the gods, I went through hell for the gods and now they… they.“, he wasn‘t able to speak anymore, there was too much rage boiling up inside him. He finally processed what happened and the sea in him roared with a desire. A desire for revenge. Annabeth pressed herself closer to him in comfort. She is scared, Percy‘swords scare her and yet she knows that there is nothing she can say to help him. She just hoped that she wasn‘t about to lose him.
Percy was grateful for his girlfriend but he knew that he couldn‘t stay. The longer he stayed, the more his body was trembling and the sea roared louder.“ I want to talk to Zeus. Now.“, He told Annabeth could. She let him go her eyes full of something he never saw in them before.
Panic.
“ No Percy that is not a good idea! If he is targeting you then yelling at him would be a great excuse for him to…….. hurt you.“, She answers logically as always but her tone fearful. Percy can‘t help but feel angry at her words.
“I‘m not scared of Zeus and if he wants to kill me he is welcome to try! My mom did not deserve this you know that as well as I so don‘t try to stop me!“, He nearly yells and he departs from her quickly. The storm in him screams in agreement and he looks forward to setting it free, Annabeth hated herself for making him angrier. She loved Sally too so why doesn‘t she support Percy? What did Zeus or any other god ever do for her? A small voice whispers that she just wants to keep him safe but she can also do that against the gods. She gently grabbed his hand and gave him a weak smile.“Okay just let me come with you.“, She pleads and Percy feeling a warm thankfulness for her calming his waves a bit, smiled back.
The man behind the desk looks at them in shock when they enter the building..“You shouldn‘t be here.“, he claims, his voice sounding a bit concerned. Percy felt cold amusement washing over him.
He killed scarier monsters than this old man. He takes out his sword without a second thought.“ We are exactly where we need to be now let us talk to Zeus or I will try my sword out on you.“, He threatened and did not notice Annabeth‘s worried glance.“You should listen to him! He once took down giant you are no match for him!“, Annabeth‘s voice sounded just as dark as his but she just wanted to keep Percy from doing something he would regret later. The man‘s eyes were stuck on the blade then wandered to Percy‘s eyes as if those could burn him.
He moved back a bit uncomfortable.“ Alright I‘ll let you up.“
Percy felt a sense of victory letting the water rise again. It pushed through his veins and when they entered the small elevator his body tensed from the power it made him feel. The gods would pay for taking his family. They would see what happened if someone pushed him too far. Maybe some days ago he wouldn‘t have felt this darkness but a few days ago he also had a mother. He was overtaken by memories, of her soft voice, her laugh and her hugs. He wondered if it would make her sad to see how angry he was but she certainly was also sad to be killed there was no difference anyway. The memories hurt but they also foiled his anger.
Percy and Annabeth walked down the way to the god's council in silence. The minor gods and nymphs whispered and pointed at them, their eyes worried some even pitiful. They all knew Percy‘s story and they all feared him.
Only Zeus and Hera were in the throne room  When Percy walked in his eyes immediately landed on Zeus who glared at him in outrage.“HOW DARE YOU COM HERE?!“, The Lord of the skies shouted in fury but Percy did not even wince.  Instead, he glared back.
"How dare you kill my mom?!." Percy spat back. Zeus only looked annoyed but the others gods looked at each other uneasily. Zeus shook his head like he wanted to get rid of a nasty fly.
" My boy, there are things that you don't understand. I'm sorry about your mother but sometimes cruelty is necessary to prevent worse.", Zeus explained and Percy felt as if he had been punched in the gut. How could this all immortal god talk about an innocent woman death like that? He felt disgusted at Zeus rising and Annabeth spoke it out.
"Sally Jackson was a mortal woman! How could she have been any danger to you?", Annabeth asked her voice full of angry disbelief."Well it was more about her child than her, "Hera responded and maybe there was a hint of regret in her voice.
" Silence wife!", Zeus told her harshly but Percy's blood already froze."You.....you killed her because of me?", He asked fear numbing his fury. He hoped that he had just heard wrong but he was the only child of Poseidon so they could only mean him. Zeus sighed as if this whole situation bored him."Apollo gave me a prophecy that said that she would have a child with Poseidon that could end my sign that is all you need to know." Zeus said defensively and a dam in Percy that held back the growing stormy sea finally broke. Zeus had killed his mother because of a prophecy?
Of course, gods always sed prophecies to harm others,
Percy balled his hands into fists his ears ringing." That is your excuse? you were scared so you just killed my pregnant mother in front of me? She was going to have a baby. She was happy and you killed just because of your god complex!" Percy accused Zeus, his voice trembling with anger. The waves were rushing through his veins and he can feel it in the veins of Zeus and Hera as well  Not as much but it was there flowing through their veins like calm waves. "I told you you would not understand now leave before I make you Perseus.", Zeus commands but that only makes Percy turn to him.
Persues...
His mother called him that because she wanted him to have a happy life...
Percy slowly opens his hand his senses searching for a certain source of water. When they find it Percy feels a tug in his fingers. He smiles darkly at Zeus."I think you underestimate what I'm capable of my lord. you really should have killed me instead of my loved ones.", Percy muses and he follows the tug by moving his hand forward, pushing back the waves in Zeus body. The god looked stunned for a moment even confused but then his body god thrown back so that his head smashed against his thrown. The stone cracked and Annabeth gasped in shock together with the other gods." Percy!" Annabeth yelled terrified at her boyfriend's power. Percy couldn't hear her. He could only focus on Zeus and how he was held in place by an invisible force his force. He wondered how much he could hurt a god.
He moved his hand to the side and Zeus growled in anger as he tried to resist the painful control he was under. Percy took a deep breath he was not sure what too now should he let Zeus go? Should he show the gods mercy? Then he remembered his mother and how she had died in a fiery explosion. He looked into Zeus blue angry eyes and he calls for the water in the god's throat, His hand makes a gesture like he was strangling someone and immediately Zeus grasps his own his gasps for breath was music in Percy's ears. He feels Annabeth shaking him begging him to stop with sobs in her voice. Hera watches the situation as if it was a very interesting movie. She was not at Percy's side but seeing the man who cheated on her so often be choked to please her too much to interfere.
Percy loved seeing Zeus so helpless, he loved when his other hand made the gods nose bleed with golden blood. Zeus looked in much pain and Percy loved every second of it." Now you know what it feels like to be a demigod. It's painful and you wish that the suffering would end but it never does. How do you like that?", Percy jokes and closes his hand a bit more. Zeus face turned red his eyes nearly popping out of his skull."Percy stop....please stop." Annabeth pleads and there is something in her voice that makes him hesitate." Sally would not want you to do this!", Annabeth said her voice shaking in horror. The words echo in Percy's mind and painful guilt helps to dim his inner flame. What would his mother say if she could see him right now? He was harming others with his powers just like Zeus had.
His rage dies down like the sea after a long storm. He opens his hand and lets go of Zeus blood. The god nearly fell off his throne as he gasps for air. Percy still felt satisfaction at that sight. He turned to Annabeth who held onto his arm, her face pale from what she had seen." I'm sorry Annabeth.", He said and he really meant it. He shouldn't have scared her like this, he should have just told her not to come with him. Annabeth gently squeezes his hand. She understood Percy#s anger and she even shares it but she still prays that he will never lose himself to his power ever again. Zeus had regained his strength and his eyes blazed with electricity." YOU WILL DIE FOR THIS!", Zeus yells but Percy only felt a surge of frustration at those threats. After all that had happened to Zeus, he was still a god that was full of himself and would not learn anything from this. Percy looked at him coldly." No, I will not. Haven't you learned what happens when you make me angry?" Percy asked dangerously calm. He felt tired of all this talking and especially Zeus. He took Annabeth's hand and left as he suspected no one tries to stop them. The sea in his body has calmed down again but Zeus who is watching him from his throne can tell that he has changed. The sea can start raging again any moment and maybe it was Percy that the prophecy referred to. Maybe he  will be the end of the gods after all.
You and Mayberry used to be best friends until she got married to her husband{idk his name} she loved him but clearly he didn't love her. [ 'cough' Martha 'cough'}. You always said he was bad for her but she always believed it always a story so she would divorce him and you take him for your self.
:But that wasn't the case you wanted HER not him [hehe gay]
:You always hinted at it but she never got it....
: you died before her due to either offing yourself or sickness no one really knows but you but that's a story for another day
:She was devastated so that didn't help weeks or months later her husband cheats on her then bahda bing bahda boom she's in hell
Tumblr media
relationship hell ( beginning till confession)
:Hey the boss said to get you-
: cue a crying mess of Mayberry and once you realize she is...
:your both crying now
:[Blitz is being an ass and recording of course!]
:You both leave and decide to catch up
: you kinda had a "I told you so!" moment when you found out why she got them to go after Martha
~ few months later~ { if you feel like you would confess in a different way feel free to skip to the end :3 }
: You finally decide to tell her the feelings you've had for so long due to them coming back strong or you just decide it was time
:You took her to a pretty spot on a cliff {and ik this is cliche but I feel like she would like that :3} you give her a gift and say this...
:"Mayberry I have loved you since college.....you don't have to feel the same and I know you have a bad history with dating but would you take that leap and date me?"
: It was quite for a bit or time about ten minutes
:You then got your answer....A teary eyed practically tackling you in an embrace saying yes over and over
:and once again you're both crying and Blitz is some how here and recording -__-
: she ask why you hadn't told her sooner
: " well I didn't want to lose you and you loved him I told you he was bad from the beginning but you thought I was after him when I did say he was but really secretly deep inside I hoped you would so I could have you."
I’m Having Your Baby - Part 2
a/n: professor!Harry one shot! if someone could tell me why I’m a SLUT for professor!Harry that would be great. 9K of angst, some smut and fluff. not proofread. Thank you all for the overwhelming support of the first part, I couldn’t believe how much everyone liked it! The story won’t be continuing from her, and I didn’t want to continue it all, but I got so many kind words I didn’t wanna leave y’all hanging. I hope you all like it as much as the first part!
Read I’m Having Your Baby Part 1 here.
Tumblr media
Needless to say, things got very awkward around the house between the two of you after your little romp. It felt amazing, it was so nice to just have someone tough you…but you felt guilty. You used him. He felt guilty too. He knew you were vulnerable and maybe not thinking straight.
“I said yes to a question I should have said no to.”
Is all you said to him before getting out of his bed, and going back to your own. It was impulsive and stupid, and the two of you knew it. He wanted you to answer his more important question, but you couldn’t wrack your head around it. Did you want to be his girlfriend again? Did he truly mean he wanted you again, and not just because you were carrying his child? It was too much to think about, so you didn’t.
You barely spoke over the next few days, or than some good mornings or how’d you sleeps, and the car rides were absolutely silent. During your lunch break on Monday, you decide to call Nora, and tell her what happened. Maybe she could snap you out of whatever it was going through your mind.
“I know you have pregnancy brain and all, but are you fucking stupid?”
“Nora…” You sigh.
“I mean, buy a fucking dildo if you need something up in there!”
“It wasn’t about that! No one had even touched me since the last time he and I had sex, I need to be touched by someone other than myself. You know what’s aggravating? I was supposed to have a date the day I found out I was pregnant. Of course I cancelled it, but sometimes I wish I hadn’t. I mean, people date pregnant people right?”
“Oh please, that would’ve gotten complicated and you know it. How have things been at home?”
“Silent…he can barely look at me. I think he feel used.”
“Good, shoe is on the other foot for a change.” She pauses for a moment. “So you haven’t even talked about it?”
“He tried to after…he basically told me he wanted us to be together again, and I told him we wouldn’t even be talking if it weren’t for the baby, and he said he didn’t believe that. Like he was so confident we would have found our way back to each other again.”
“Horse shit.”
“I know, and then he asked me what he could do to prove that he’s serious, and I got up and left the room.”
“Good! Don’t give into him. You’re living with him out of security and necessity. How was it?”
“How was what?”
“The sex?”
“God, it was incredible! He remembered exactly what I liked, and the familiarity just made everything so much intense. I’d do it again if he didn’t think it meant something.”
“That’s just your hormones talking.”
“Yeah, well, they’re screaming at me now. I want it all the time, and now that I’ve had it again I don’t know what I’m gonna do.”
“Buy a dildo, watch some porn, and stay in your own room.”
//
You had another bad dream, a nightmare really. You woke up drenched in sweat, and you were horrified at the things your brain was coming up with. You sit up and start crying. It was still early in the evening, it was only around 9:30PM. You had started going to bed earlier since the incident. Harry was just getting upstairs when he heard you. He sighs and goes further down the hall, and taps on your door.
“Y/N?” He opens it slightly and his face falls when he sees your hands covering yours.
“I’m fine.”
“No, you’re not.” He says softly, inching further into the room. “What happened?”
“I had a bad dream.” You whisper. You feel his weight dip the bed, and you look over at him.
“What was it this time?”
“I…I gave birth prematurely, like now, and I was all alone. No one was there with me other than the doctor, and it wasn’t even my doctor. Then they handed me this thing and I could just feel it’s heartbeat, and it died right there in my hand, Harry.”
“Oh, honey…”
He scoops you up and holds you in his arms, rocking you back and forth as you cry into him. He ribs your back and whispers that everything’s going to be alright. He kisses your hairline over and over to soothe you, and you hate yourself because it works.
“Would you…” You look up at him. “I mean, would it be too much to ask for you to stay in here with me tonight? I’m afraid to even close my eyes again. It just felt so real.”
“Of course. Let me just go do my thing and I’ll be right back, okay?” You nod and watch him get up to leave. He’s back in a few minutes in his bed clothes, and he gets under the covers with you. You both lay on your backs staring at the ceiling. You look over at him. “Harry…I’m really sorry about a few days ago.”
“Don’t mention it.”
“No…we should talk about it.”
“What’s there to talk about?” He looks at you. “You obviously regretted it, and then I opened my big mouth and freaked you out even more.” He rolls onto his side and places his hand on your lower stomach. “I don’t wanna do or say anything that’s gonna stress you out, that’s why I haven’t said much in the last few days.”
“I don’t regret it, fuck, I needed it.” You place your hand over his. “But it can’t happen again, that’s not why I’m here, you know?”
“I know.” He closes his eyes and looks at you again. “You wouldn’t even be talkin’ to me if you weren’t pregnant.” And just like that, he flipped the script. Why did you suddenly feel guilty?
“We talk.”
“Only if it’s work related…through email…that day you called me, even if it was just through the office phone, I think my heart leapt out of my chest. I thought maybe you were callin’ me because you missed me.” You scoff at him.
“You think I would’ve be the one to come crawling back?”
“Maybe not crawling…” He smirks. “I don’t know what I thought. Maybe if you came to me first I could just beg you to take me back.”
“Harry, you were already fucking someone else, I wouldn’t have been coming to get back together with you, and certainly not in the middle of the day at school.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t know you knew about Kelly. It wasn’t anything serious, she was just a distraction.”
“That’s an awful thing to say.”
“I know. I’ve come to realize that maybe I’m not as good of a person as I thought I was. Here I am, this professor that students fight for seats in my class for, and I can’t even be a decent fucking person to the one person that mattered to me.”
“Your book smart, not street smart.” You laugh. “You’ve always been better when it comes to work things. You’re cute Harry, but you’re also this very awkward guy. Charming when you need to be, maybe even suave, but one on one, you’re a goofball.”
“And you always set me straight, and called me out, even when we were just friends.”
“I was so shocked that day you asked me out, I nearly choked on my lunch. You were so blunt.”
“I was relieved when it didn’t take much convincing for you to say yes. That was a fun first date, wasn’t it?”
“Mm, you took me to that bar and we danced practically the whole night.”
“And you said the entire night I wasn’t to come inside with you because you knew what would happen if I did.”
“And you said don’t pretend like you’re a good girl all of a sudden.” You giggle. “That shook me to my core, I’m not gonna lie.”
“I know it did, that’s why you brought me inside your place that night, and you showed me how good you can be.” He smirks again.
“Alright, that’s enough.” You take his hand away from your stomach. “We don’t need to go down memory lane right now.”
“Do you think…I mean, I get it, you don’t want me. I suppose I wouldn’t want me either with how awful I was to you…but, we were friends once. Couldn’t we be friends again? We’ve been civil sure, but we’re not friends right now.”
“I think being friends could work. I think that’s what hurt the most when it ended, I felt like I lost my best friend.”
“Nora’s your best friend.”
“Nora’s my best girlfriend, but you…” You reach up and cup his cheek, and he leans into your touch. “I don’t know, I think that’s why my heart was so broken.” You take your hand away. “Like, it killed me that there were things I wanted to tell you first over anyone else.”
“The same thing happened to me, I think that’s why I got involved with Kelly…she was just there, you know?”
“Mhm.” You roll your eyes. “Let’s go to sleep now, yeah?”
“Okay.” He leans in and kisses your forehead before fully turning onto his other side. “Goodnight.”
“Night.”
He always did that when you were together. He’d kiss your forehead and turn over. It was his signal that he wanted to be the little spoon. The only comfortable position was on your back, and you weren’t quite sure if he realized what he was doing. He did just like sleeping on that side, also. You try to shake everything from your mind, and go back to sleep.
//
“Hi Sally.” Harry smiles at your admin when he comes into your office.
“Oh, hi Harry! How are you?”
“I’m great, how are you?”
“I’m good, thank you.” She smiles. She looks at the large brown paper bag in his hand. “That smells good.”
“Surprising Y/N with a special lunch today.”
“Ohhh, how lucky is she, hm?” She looks over at your closed office door. “She’s just finishing up with her 11:30.”
“Alright.”
Your door opens and a young man leaves. He smiles and nods at Sally before he exits. Sally gets up to go to your office.
“Y/N?”
“I can’t wait for some of these kids to move on to their advisors for next year. Kid gave me a fucking headache.” You sigh. “These back to backs are gonna be the death of me, Sally.”
“Well, I think I know of something that’ll take your mind right off it. Harry’s here with lunch, and it smells greasy.”
“Oh? That’s surprising. He can come on in.”
She nods and lets him know he’s free to go in. He comes in and closes the door, taking a seat in one of your spare chairs.
“This is nice.” You smile.
“Thought we could use a break from the grille. I stepped out quick and went to Burger King. I know you prefer McDonald’s, but Burger King has the impossible meat. S’not much better for you, but I’ve had it a couple times and it’s a nice treat. Got them without mayo, and got you extra pickles on yours.” He reaches into the bag and hands it to you.
“Thank you! It smells so good. I really didn’t want my salad anyways.” He looks at your water bottle and smiles.
“You’re even ahead on your water, good girl.” He says biting into his burger. You can’t help but giggle.
“That’s the worst inside joke there is.”
“Come on, you love it.” He smirks. He watches you take a bite of the burger and you moan. “Good, right?”
“It really tastes like meat! Did you happen to get fries too?”
“Nope, I opted for apple slices.”
“You’re so annoying.”
“The fries there aren’t even that good.”
“You should’ve gone to McDonald’s and gotten their fries, now that would’ve been thinking.”
“Mm, right, and then your doctor would’ve killed me for cloggin’ your arteries.”
“It’s just potato.”
“Fried and greasy potato.” He shakes his head. “I’ll tell you what though, I’ll chop up some of the potatoes we have at home and roast them for you, just how you like.”
“Fair enough. Hand me the apples.” You had scarfed down the burger quickly. He reaches into the bag and hands you the slices.
“Wanna go for a quick walk? You should get outta your office while you can. S’a nice day out too.”
“Sure.” You shrug. “I can’t wait to go to the doctor next week, we’ll be able to know the sex of the baby.”
“I’m really excited.”
You both head out and start your walk. Harry kept a slow pace for you, he didn’t want you getting too tired that you couldn’t do your job later.
“I’m gonna have to go shopping this weekend I think, my clothes are starting to get really tight.” You groan.
Harry had noticed your clothes getting tight, but they were tight in all the right ways. Your breasts and ass were fuller, and he often couldn’t help himself from looking. He thought you got more beautiful as each day passed, and there was something about whenever he’d look at your bump that would drive him a little crazy. It was something about knowing that he did this to you, that no one else really had you.
“We could go to that maternity store at the mall. Could be a good excuse to also start putting a registry together for your baby shower. My mum wants to be us the crib, she’s insisting on it.”
“Good idea, and my mom wants to buy me this like state of the art breast pump.”
“So she’s come around a bit?”
“Yeah, she has.” You smile. “Nora’s gonna be putting the shower together for me, so that takes some of the stress away, and they wanna do one for me at work as well.”
“So it’s settled, we’ll do some shopping this weekend.”
“Have you had a chance to see if there are any three bedroom condos in the complex?”
“Not yet, love. I’ve been busy grading and advising too. Soon though. I’ll have time to look into things once the semester is over.”
“Must be nice to have summers off.” You huff.
“They should just let you work from home, it’s not like you meet with students in the summer. As I recall it was just emails and phone calls. They really only needed you on campus for the admissions events.”
“Honestly, I think I’m going to ask if I can do that. I could easily meet with my team through conference calls. It’s gonna hot and I’ll be way too uncomfortable trying to look professional. At least it’ll be warm enough to wear dresses and stuff.”
“You’ll look good no matter what, I hope you know that. You’ve been glowing.”
“You’re just saying that.” You nudge him. “Everything feels sore, and I’m starting to get stretch marks. I’m starting to think cocoa butter doesn’t really do shit.” Harry can’t help but laugh, and you start laughing too.
After your walk, Harry goes his separate way back to his building, and you go to yours. Sally gives you a knowing smile and you shake your head at her.
“What?”
“Nothing.” She grins. “You just seem to be in better spirits. You always are with him.”
“Not always.”
“You are though, he’s making you happy again. He even brought you junk food, I was shocked.”
“Me too.” You walk up and grab a mint from her desk. “Maybe…I mean, do you really think people can change?”
“I do, sometimes. He should want to change to be better for himself, he shouldn’t just change for you because then it won’t stick. I’ve heard things though. He was a wreck after your break up, even if he didn’t lead on that way. I think he still loves you.”
“I have no doubt that he loves me, Sally.” You sigh. “I never doubted that, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love him too, but sometimes that’s just enough.”
It was true, you never stopped loving Harry. As much as he broke your heart, you loved him endlessly. And you knew he loved you too. Every time he looked at you, you could see it on his face. You just couldn’t bring yourself to say anything. You were better off as friends, and that was that.
//
“Baby’s healthy and so is mumma.” You doctor says to you. “Would you like to know the sex of the baby?”
“Yes!” You and Harry say at the same time.
“Well, you see that little thing right there?” She points to the monitor. “It would appear that you’re having a little boy.” She smiles.
You and Harry look at each other, and you both tear up. You wrap your arms around each other, and he kisses you cheek, lingering for a moment too long, but right now you didn’t care.
“Could we have a couple of those printed, I’d like to send one to my mum and sister.” He says.
“Of course.”
Once you get your belly cleaned up, you two head out to the car.
“Guess your hunch was right.” He puts your lower stomach. “Got a little boy in there.”
“Mhm, we should go through the baby name book and start seeing which ones we like.” Harry starts the car and begins the drive back to campus. “I don’t know how I’m going to concentrate for the rest of the day.”
“You know…I don’t say thank you enough.”
“For what?”
“Most people wouldn’t as lucky as I am. I mean, do most baby daddies get to be this involved? We live together, you’re lettin’ me be a part of so much.”
“Ugh, please don’t refer to yourself as a baby daddy.” You laugh. “And you’re only this involved because you want to be. I never asked to live with you.” You put your hand over his. “If there isn’t someone who says thank you enough, it’s me.”
//
A couple of weeks later you were just lounging in bed with a book when you felt the baby kick for the first time. It didn’t even hurt like you thought it might. You couldn’t believe he was kicking already, maybe he was just trying to make some room to grow. Harry had to see this. You get up and shuffle down the hall to his room. You tap on the door before opening in.
“Harry?” You look around and didn’t see him in there, but you could hear his shower running. You walk further in and knock on his bathroom door. “Harry?!”
“Shit.” You hear him say. “Yeah?!”
“The baby’s kicking! I thought you might like to feel…”
“Uhhh, fuck, umm, could you give me like five minutes?! I’ll come to your room!”
“Okay!”
You shrug it off and go back to your room. About ten minutes later, Harry comes in, only wearing a pair of shorts. He hated getting dressed right after a shower.
“Sorry, I was, uh, in the middle of washing my hair.” A lie, but her certainly wasn’t going to tell he was jerking it. He gets on the bed and sits between your legs. “Where’d you feel it?”
“Right here, give me your hands, maybe he’ll do it again.” You take hands and place them where you felt the baby kick before.
“Oh my god!” Harry gasps when he feels it. “It doesn’t hurt?”
“Not really. I’m sure it will once he gets a little bigger. This is so cool, it just makes it more real, you know?” He hums his response.
“Have you done your nightly lotion?”
“Not yet.”
“I could put it on for you if you want. I know you’ve been stressed with the kids at work.”
“It’s just another week or two of the crazy busy part, it’ll die down soon. Although…” You were touch starved and the thought of his large hands on you in some way was thrilling. You grab the jar of cocoa butter and hand it to him. “Thanks.”
He lifts your shirt up slightly, just over your bump, and starts rubbing it on gently. A happy sigh escapes your lips and your eyes flutter closed. You feel him tug at your pajama pants, and your eyes snap open.
“What are you doing?”
“Don’t you need some a bit lower?” He was being genuine, not really seeing the problem.
“I can do that.”
“M’not takin’ your pants off, would you relax, lemme get your lower stomach for you.”
You wanted him to take your pants off, you wanted him to rip them away and do what he did best.
“See? All done.” He smiles and hands you back the jar. He gets off the bed, and goes to leave.
“Could you close the door all the way for me?”
“I thought we agreed on leaving them open a crack so I could hear if you called f’me?”
“We did…but…” Your cheeks flush. “Never mind, you know what? I need a pickle.” You get up and pull your shirt down.
“It’s a new jar I think, let me go down and open it for you.”
You both go down to the kitchen and Harry gets the jar open for you. Your eyes sparkle once you’re able to snatch one. You wrap your lips around in and close your eyes as you take a nice big bite.
“Christ.” He says under his breath, and you look at him.
“What?”
“Nothin’.” He blushes and looks away from you.
“Do you want one?”
“No, I’m good, thanks.”
“Really, you can have one. They taste so good, I think it’s the salt. I’ve been really into salty things lately.
He wanted to say he had something salty for you that you could wrap your lips around, but he wouldn’t dare. Things had been so peaceful with you lately, and he didn’t want to ruin it, as much as he wanted to ruin you.
“Did you get a new tattoo?” You point to his upper arm. “I don’t remember that one.”
“Hm?” He looks down at it. “Oh yeah, I got drunk one night with Max like a couple of months ago and we each got one. It was like right after we broke up.” He shrugs.
“I don’t know how you have any room left on that arm. Will you ever fill up the other one?”
“I kinda like the way it looks, it’s sort of lop sided.”
“But your chest and stomach is so symmetrical. Same with your legs, you have those ones on your knees and ankles.”
“My legs aren’t symmetrical.” He pulls up one side of his shorts to remind you of his tiger tattoo.
“Okay, minus that one.” You scoff.
“And you still don’t have any.” He smirks.
“Nope, and I never will.” You grab another pickle and bite into it. “I always like this one.” You graze your fingers over the mermaid. “She’s realistic looking, you know? Think my boobs are just as saggy.” You laugh.
“Y/N.” He chuckles. “Your boobs are not…” He sighs. “You have a beautiful body, okay?”
“Not anymore.” You roll your eyes.
“I disagree.” He crosses his arms.
“Gimme a break, Harry. This is not sexy.” You rub your belly. “It’s gross.”
“Again, I disagree.” He leans back against the counter. “Just more to love, that’s all.”
//
“God, I’m definitely gaining weight.” You groan. “I don’t know how, we both eat so healthy.”
“You order dessert every time we go out to eat, that’s why.” He says not looking at you. “You have no self-control with your sweet tooth.”
“Gee thanks.”
“I’m just sayin’, you can sit there and pout, or you could make some changed. If you need to have a dessert you could start goin’ to the gym with me. I’m allowed to have guests.”
“No offense, but I’ve seen you work out, and I don’t think I’d have much fun doing it with you. You’re way too intense.”
“We could run together.”
“You’d just go far ahead of me.”
“You’re makin’ excuses.” He turns to look at you. “Make a change or not, but don’t complain to me when you keep getting…plushy.”
//
“More to love!” You laugh. “You’re like the most fat phobic person I’ve ever met.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Any time I ever talked about gaining weight or anything you just made me feel worse about it.”
“Well…you sort of have a reason for gaining weight now. Before you didn’t, you were eating like shit.”
“I was not!”
“Yeah, you were. You always had like three different tubs of ice cream in your freezer, and anytime you’d have some you always went back for seconds. S’not a treat if you do it all the time. And that wasn’t me being fat phobic, I just wanted you to be healthy.”
“Well, you had a funny way of showing it.”
“My step-father died from a heart attack, Y/N, he had heart disease because he ate like shit all the time. I was scared…especially after you told me your doctor said your cholesterol.”
“That runs in my family! I don’t eat red meat for that very reason.”
“I just wanted you around as long as possible, maybe I had a bad way of showin’ it, but I was coming from a good place.”
“Whatever.” You shake your head.
“I know I was a dick okay? It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it, right?”
“Exactly.”
“Well, I apologize. I shouldn’t have spoken to you like that or made you feel that way. I’m sure there were other ways I could’ve gotten my point across.” You put the jar of pickles down and turn to look at him.
“Yeah, there were. You could be such an asshole sometimes.”
“I know.” You step a little closer to him.
“It was really annoying.”
“I know.”
“And you made it impossible to stay mad sometimes, which ended up pissing me off too.”
“I wasn’t that great of a boyfriend, I don’t know why you put up with me as long as you did, to be honest.” He presses his forehead to yours.
“I don’t know either.” You say, just above a whisper.
He starts sniffling and backs away from you.
“Sorry.” He wipes his eyes.
“Harry…”
“I just, I’m so mad at myself for fucking things up so badly. I feel like I fucked up my one shot at having a real love, and I’m frustrated.”
“You didn’t, you’ll find it again.”
“Yeah.” He scoffs. “Just not with you, right?”
“You don’t want these with me!” You slam your fist down on the counter. “You just think you do because I’m-“
“I swear to god, I’m gonna lose my shit if you say that one more time! I’m still in love with you, I never fell out of love with you! I didn’t want to break up, you did!”
“Fuck you, Harry. If you wanted us to work you would’ve fought for us more. You didn’t even care that we started sleeping separately, or that we weren’t having sex, or-“
“I was trying to give you the space you seemed to have wanted! I may not have been perfect, but you weren’t either. You picked just as many fights with me as I did with you. I really saw a future with you, but there were times I felt like you didn’t see one with me.”
“You literally flipped out on me when I asked you to make some room for me in your dresser.”
“I got annoyed because I said why don’t you just use the dresser in the guest room, and you took it personally like I didn’t want our stuff co-mingling!”
“Well, that’s how it felt!”
“And then, you walked out on me before I could even ask you to move in here, I was preparing for it! I had started looking at new furniture and everything! But you got so distant-“
“Because I felt like I couldn’t even breathe without you having some smart remark. I get it, being a professor is super stressful, but you were always taking it out on me. I felt like a scared little kid half the time, Harry.” Your voice cracks as tears start to fall.
“I thought things were going to get better after went away that weekend, but they just worse…”
“Yeah, they did. We’re not compatible.”
“Please, don’t say that, it kills me.” He takes a deep breath. “I was mad at you for ending it, that’s why I didn’t jump to my feet to fight for it. I figured if you were willing to give up so easily then so would I.”
“But it wasn’t easy! My heart was broken, and it broke more when you just sat there and said okay.” You sigh. “I just couldn’t keep pretending that everything happening was okay, Harry. It was exhausting.”
“I know.”
“So what makes you think starting over would make any difference? Things are balanced right now.”
“No, they’re not.” He raises your chin so you’ll at him. “Do you know how hard it is to have the love of your life, the woman carrying your child, down the hall from you and all you want to do is crawl into bed with her and love on her, and you can’t? I feel like I’m dying slowly from the inside out.” He lets go of you and smirks. “And you wanna know what else is bullshit about this whole thing?”
“What?” You were stunned at what he had just said.
“You said I wasn’t helpin’ your situation by walkin’ around shirtless and sweaty or whatever the fuck else, but you don’t exactly do things that make it easy for me either.”
“Excuse me?”
“It’s like you’re doin’ it on purpose.”
“Doing what?! Whenever I’m home I’m in leggings and a tank top.”
“With your tits fully on display.” He gestures to them.
“It hurts too much to wear a bra!” You pout. “I’m sorry…” You cross your arms over them. “I truthfully didn’t think you were even looking.”
“How could I not? You have to know how beautiful I think you are, I try to tell you all the time.”
“I thought you were just trying to comfort me…”
“It’s so much more than that.” You look down and then to the clock.
“We should go to bed, it’s getting late.”
“You always do this! You never wanna finish the conversation.”
“What’s there to finish?! We keep going round in circles. What we’re doing is working, let’s just leave it.” You stick the pickles back in the fridge and go upstairs.
//
Since you had moved in, you slept better than ever, but lately you tossed and turned. It wasn’t due to discomfort with the baby, you just couldn’t shut your brain off. Between all of the things Harry said to you that night and your work being absolutely stressful, you physically couldn’t sleep. On Friday you have a meeting with your supervisor to discuss the summer.
“You look great, been meaning to tell you that.” She says as you come into her office.
“Thanks Margaret.” You smile. “So I know I’m not due until the end of August, so I’ll be missing the fall semester…”
“We’ll miss you a lot. We’re starting to look into grad students for you though.”
“That’s great! And I’d be happy to train any one of them…just…maybe virtually?”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m exhausted, and we really only do a lot of email and phone calls over the summer. Harry has a nice office set up at home, and he said I could use it this summer if I wanted. I was sort of wondering if I could work from home once the school year ends…I know it’s a lot to ask, and I could still come in some days, but all the walking around I do is just killing me by the time I get home, and my doctor said my blood pressure is high-“
“Is that from work, or the fact that you’re playing house with your ex?” She smirks. “I remember what it was like to be pregnant, especially during the summer. You’ll be much more comfortable at home, you’ve got that indoor pool right?”
“Mhm.”
“I’m sure we could work it out, but there’s some paperwork you’ll need to fill out with HR.” You hum your response. “Is it also that Harry has the summer off and you want to be home with him?”
“I mean…it would be nice…but it’s not the sole reason.”
“Alright.” She sighs. “Hey, just between us, are you considering at all to get back together with him? I’ve seen him around here, you two seem chummy again.”
“We’re on good terms, yeah, but the rest is complicated. Every wound I have still feel fresh, you know?”
“True, but are you going to keep holding onto how he made you feel then, or can you let yourself feel what you’re feeling now?”
“Which is what?”
“I think you want to be with him. You perk up the second you seem him walk through the door, and you’re always giggling when you leave together. Sometimes people break up, and it just doesn’t work out and then don’t get back together. Sometimes someone winds up pregnant. But…with you two, I think that if you didn’t want him, you wouldn’t have agreed to live with him or let him be so involved.”
“How could I deprive him of his child? And he said he wanted to be around for everything-“
“A lot of guys say that and don’t mean it. You still trusted his word, Y/N. I’m not saying you need to marry the guy or dive back into a full on relationship, but throw him a bone.”
//
You were quiet on the car ride home, nothing out of the normal. You keep looking at him and he finally sighs and speaks up.
“Do I have somethin’ on my face?”
“No.”
“Okay, then why do you keep looking at me like that?”
“I wanna go out tonight.”
“You do?”
“Mhm. I wanna put a pretty dress on and go out.”
“Alright, where do yeh wanna go, love?” He parks the car in the driveway and looks at you.
“I miss dancing, Harry.”
“Okay.” He knew your feet wouldn’t allow for it, and by the time you got somewhere you’d be too tired to stay long enough for any fun to start. You both get out of the car and go inside. “Why don’t you go up and take your time gettin’ ready…I have an idea I think you’ll like.” He smiles.
“Okay.” You smile back and go upstairs.
After at least two mental breakdowns, you get your hair and makeup the way you like, and throw a flattering dress on. It was flowy and came down to your mid-thigh. It covered your chest as well. When you come downstairs, you see that the lights are dim, there are candles lit, and music playing. Harry was pouring some seltzer water into a glass for you, and just adding a lime.
“Thought I’d bring the bar to us, how does that sound?” He hands you the glass and you take a sip.
“You’re brilliant, Dr. Styles.” You joke. “What are you drinking?”
“Just a beer for now. I don’t wanna get too wasted since I’m the one drivin’.” He winks at you. “Are you hungry? I popped some of those fried pickles into the oven…”
“You’re spoiling me.” You giggle. “Thank you. Oh! I spoke with Margaret today and we’re gonna go down to HR next week to talk about working from home this summer. She seems to think it could work out well.”
“That’s a huge relief. I like the idea of havin’ yeh home with me this summer.”
You both get silly to a few songs, and then eventually he slows dances with you. Your bump was in the way, but you were able to make it work. Harry was such a good dancer. You always felt safe in his arms. You loved hearing him hum along to whatever song was playing too, it was so calming. You look up at him and yawn by accident.
“Okay, I think it’s time you went to bed.” He chuckles and cuts the music.
“But I’m having so much fun.”
“I know, but you’re tired, honey.” He kisses your forehead and lets you go. “Come on, up the stairs we go.”
After you had gotten into bed, you thought to maybe go crawl into his, just to have a cuddle, but you told yourself that would be a bad idea. It would definitely lead to something else.
//
“Harry! Harry!”
He bursts through your bedroom door the next morning in a panic.
“Where the hell is she?”
“Harry!”
“Shit.” He goes into your bathroom and finds you sitting, unable to get up. “What happened?!” He steps inside and helps you up. “Are you okay?” He pulls you close to him, neither of you caring how naked you are.
“I…I was trying to shave my legs, but there’s no bench in here for me to prop my foot up on, and I lost my balance. I only fell on my bum, I think the baby’s fine.”
“We should go to the doctor anyways, just to make sure. And then we’ll go to the store and buy a shower bench, or you could just come use my shower, whatever you wanna do.” He reaches to turn the water off and grabs your towel. “You know, you could just let yourself get hairy.”
“But it’s so uncomfortable…”
“What about wax?” You both step into your room. “Or that nair stuff?”
“Wax hurts and nair burns.” You sigh. “My legs are one thing, but I don’t want that stuff near my…area.”
“I could help you shave you know, s’not like I haven’t seen yeh naked before.”
“Again, legs are one thing…” You pat his shoulder. “Let me get dressed, could you call the doctor?”
“Mhm.”
The doctor said you were perfectly fine, but to definitely be more careful. You and Harry stop at the store to buy a shower bench and he gets it set up for you once you’re home.
“Test it out.” He says as you both stand in the shower.
“Okay.”
You put on of your feet up on it and bend a bit and pretend to run your razer over your leg.
“Yup, that should work just fine, thanks.”
“What about elsewhere?”
“I think no matter what I do I’m gonna have a tough time with that.” You sigh. “I’ll live, it’s just uncomfortable. It gets itchy once it grows in, you know?”
“Again, my services have been offered.” He winks at you.
“You’d do anything to get your face close to me there, wouldn’t you?” You nudge him playfully.
“Yep that’s it, you’ve found out my entire scheme to eat you out.” He rolls his eyes. “Come on, you’ve barely drank any water today, let’s get your water bottle filled up.”
//
You tossed and turned again that night. You needed Harry. So, you get up and shuffle down the hall to his room, door open a crack like he had kept it in case you called for him.
“Harry?” You say, leaning against the door frame.
“Hm?” He shoots up. “What is it? Do you need a pickle?”
“No.” You giggle. You loved him when he was sleepy like this. “M’sorry it’s so late, I just can’t sleep.”
“Do you wanna come in with me?”
“Mhm.”
“Okay.”
You slip into his comfy bed, and lay on your back.
“I miss being able to sleep on my stomach.” You sigh.
“You’d always be so cute in the morning.” He says, turning to face you. “Your arms would be tucked under the pillow and you could just see your face. Your hair was always coverin’ yeh up.” He moves some hair out of your face and tucks it behind your ear. “So sweet.” He says, his eyes starting to droop again.
“It was really nice what you did for me earlier tonight.”
“Mm.”
“It was like…a new first date or something.” His eyes snap open and he sits up again.
“Wanna run that by me again?”
“It felt like a date, didn’t it?”
“I suppose it did…”
“I missed dancing with you like that.”
“Don’t do this to me.” He groans.
“What? What am I doing?” You sit up as well.
“You keep messing with me head, Y/N. One minute we’re getting along and we’re friends, and the next…I don’t I think you want me in the way I want you, and-“
“I can’t stop thinking about what you said, about how hard it was to not love on the love of your life. I’m really the love of your life?”
“You have been for over three years.”
“We only dated for a year, though.”
“I know, but I fell for you so much sooner than that. I’d flirt with you any chance I got just to see if I could get your cheeks to flush.” He runs his thumb along your cheek bone.
“And it always worked, you left me flustered pretty often.”
“And what about now, are you flustered now?”
“Very.”
“What did you come in here for, exactly?”
“I told you, I couldn’t sleep.”
“And getting into bed with me could help that?”
“Well…I miss cuddles…” You say just above a whisper. “And you’re a good cuddler.”
“What else do you miss?” His face was dangerously close to yours. It had been a month since your little romp with him, and you’d be lying if you hadn’t wanted it again almost every day since then.
“Harry…I miss a lot of things, but-“
“Can we just, ugh, forget about everything for a little while and make each other feel good?”
“But last time we did that…things almost got complicated, and-“
“We’re two adults who both have needs, and your needs are a little stronger than mine. What’s the big deal if we indulge?”
“I don’t wanna keep messing with your head, like you said I was.” You frown.
“Do you really not want me? I feel like you wouldn’t be living here if there wasn’t a sliver of you that didn’t want me.”
“I do.” You sigh and lean into his touch, his soft palm on your cheek. “It’s just so hard to forget what happened.”
“I know, and I don’t expect you to. It would be stupid if we both tried to forget or pretend like we didn’t tare each other apart, but we’re bringing a baby into this world now, and I feel like ever since you told me about it I’ve put so many things into perspective. I didn’t treat you right, and I’ll spend every day for the rest of my life makin’ up for it if I have to.”
“You will?”
“I will. I love you, Y/N.”
“I…I love you too, Harry.”
The way he kisses you is so much different than last time. There was an urgency, a pure need. It wasn’t just lust, it was so much more than that. You could taste the tears that had been running down his cheeks. You believed, you finally believed him. He regretted it, every small thing that drove you farther and farther away. He would never let that happen again, baby or no baby.
His tongue licks into your mouth, and you moan into it. Your hands move up to his hair and you tug on it. He draws back and kisses each one of your cheeks, your nose, your forehead and your lips.
“M’not gonna fuck this up again.”
“Neither am I.”
You smile at each other and continue kissing. You both shift so Harry can get on top of you. His lips move to nip at your jaw and then to just under your ear lobe.
“Is this comfortable?” He says into your ear, as his hand snacks down your body, getting between your legs.
“Yes.”
You gasp when you feel his fingers run up and down your slit, collecting the wetness and bringing up to your clit to rub circles into. He starts to shift so he can get his head between your legs.
“No don’t!”
“Why not?” He frowns.
“I don’t want you looking up at me, you’ll only see my stomach, and-“
“I can’t even begin to describe how attractive you are to me, it’s insane. Please, let me get my mouth on you.” You bite your bottom and nod yes.
He kisses down your stomach and gets his lips around your clit, and slips his fingers inside you. Your hips buck up, but he holds you steady. He was going slow, but precise.
“Oh my god, Harry.” You groan. “Feels amazing.”
He moans against you in response. You cry out when you feel his teeth nibble on you and his fingers curl up. He was brushing that spongey spot over and over.
“Harry, shit, oh my god, I’m gonna, fuck, fuck, fuck!” You release around his fingers and he retracts them so he can lap everything up.
“Would you do somethin’ for me?”
“Anything.”
“It’s been torture watchin’ yeh go to town on those giant pickles…would you mind…” He gestures down to himself.
“Oh! Sure, yeah.”
“What would be most comfortable for you?”
“Maybe if you sit on the edge of the bed, I can just put a pillow on the floor for my knees.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah.”
Harry sits on the edge of the bed, completely naked, and you get on the floor in front of him, kneeling on a few pillows. You plant your palms on his thighs as you wrap your lips around his tip. He watches you with parted lips, and you look up at him. He runs a soothing hand through your hair, and you sink down further on him.
“Teeth, love, watch your teeth.” He grunts. You pop off him and look up with embarrassment.
“M’sorry, it’s just been so long…”
“It’s okay, just take your time.” He smiles encouragingly. “I really like when you lick up and down…”
You hum your response and do as he says. You lick up and down his shaft, and his hand tugs at your roots. Your confidence comes back to you, and you suckle on his tip, flicking your tongue along his slit.
“Fucking, Christ.” His head rolls back. You hollow your cheeks and bob up and down on him. You swallow around him, and that nearly sends him over the edge. “Okay, okay.” You look up at him and he pulls you off. “I wanna fuck you now, can I do that?”
“Yes.”
He helps you to your feet, and gets you back on the bed. He puts a pillow under your lower back to help get you comfortable. He really wanted to be on top this time. He puts your legs over his shoulders and he slowly slides into you. You let out a throaty moan when he bottoms out.
“Jesus.” You breathe.
“Yeh like that?”
“Mm, so deep. You can move now.”
He rocks in and out of you slowly at first, not wanting to hurt you or do anything to jostle the baby. He had been looking up safe positions for having sex while pregnant, just in case he got the chance with you again.
“You look so beautiful, Y/N, it’s drivin’ me crazy.”
“It, ngh, is?”
“You have no idea.” He drops your legs and leans down to kiss you. He nips at your bottom lip and you groan against him.
“H, Harry, shit, I think I need to get on top.”
“Okay, baby.”
He pulls out and sits up against the head board. You move to straddle him and sink down on his hard cock.
“God, you feel so good.” He sucks on your neck while you start to move on him. His hand grip your hips to help you.
Eventually you hide your head on his neck to signal that he should just take over the movements completely. He thrusts up into you while he rocks you back and forth. You were both sweaty and panting, and you could feel yourself getting closer. He was close too.
“Harry, fuck, Harry, I’m gonna come.”
“Me too, shit.”
You bite down on his collar but he moves your face with one of his hands.
“No, please, let me hear you, let it all out.”
He gives you another hard thrust and it has you moaning out loudly, your nails dragging down his stomach, just the way his likes. He fills you up, probably making a mess, but neither of you seem to care. He cups your cheeks to kiss you, both of your lips swollen, but it’s what you both need.
“And this time, you’re not runnin’ off to your room.”
“Don’t want it to be my room anymore.”
“What?” His face falls.
“I think that should be the baby’s nursery…”
“Oh!” He smiles. “Yeah…we could do tha’.” He smooths some hair away from your face. “Does that mean you want this to be our room?”
“Yeah, I do…would that be alright?”
“It’s better than alright, it’s all I could hope for.”
//
Since you were working from home, you had plenty of time to help Harry with the nursery, and you both really enjoyed it. You decide to paint the room light grey, with a nice light yellow accent wall. You were going for a neutral vibe. Gemma and Anne come over to help set the crib up one afternoon while you make everyone some lemonade.
“So…you two are really back together?” Anne asks you while Harry and Gemma argue over the many pieces upstairs.
“Mhm.” You smile. “I suppose it was bound to happen either way.”
“And you’re happy?”
“Very, he’s changed a lot, and so have I.”
“That’s good. I can’t believe I’m havin’ a grandson. Have you two decided on a name?”
“We have a few we’ve been mulling over, but we decided we’ll make the final decision once we actually see his face.” She hums her response and sips from her glass of lemonade.
“How’s your mum been with all this?”
“Are you kidding?” You scoff. “She was over the moon that Harry took me back.” You roll your eyes. “Whatever, you know?”
“Mm, it amazes me that such a wonderful young girl could come from such a…witch.” You nearly spit out your lemonade from laughter. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.”
“No, no, it’s okay.” You smile.
Harry and Gemma come down once everything is all set.
“Oh, yum!” She says once she sees the lemonade. “Thanks, Y/N.”
“It’s the least I could do.” You hand them both a glass. “All set up there?”
“Mhm, and the changing table is good to go too.” You kiss his cheek, and he puts his arm around your shoulders.
//
It was the end of August, and way too fucking hot out. You were grateful for the indoor pool. You found yourself going there often with Harry. He thought the maternity bathing suits you found were awfully cute. He was on you more and more about drinking water. He was scared to death that you’d get dehydrated.
Your apartment was already full of the many gifts from your couple of baby showers. Most of it was organized, and you had an overnight bag ready to go. You were due any day now. Nora came to join you at the pool while Harry did some prep work for his fall classes.
“You look so good, Y/N, I mean it.”
“Thanks.” You beam. “I feel pretty good, but also ready to pop. I want him out of me already.”
“Soon.” She puts your belly. “Is it weird that I’m excited?” She giggles.
“Not at all! You’re my best friend, I want you to be excited. This kid is gonna be a part of your life now too.”
“I’ll babysit anytime I can. You know how much I love babies.”
She helps you walk back to the apartment when you both had enough of the crowd that had formed. They stop short when they hear Harry yelling on the phone.
“I can’t teach two extra sections of that course! I’m already at my load, and I said I couldn’t do any more than that this semester! My girlfriend is about to have a baby…” He groans with frustration. “Can’t we just hire a TL?” They hear him suck his teeth. “I can do one section, not two.” He sighs when he hangs up the phone. “Hi.” He grumbles at the two of you.
“What’s happening, Harry?”
“Oh, they’re just givin’ me somethin’ they could easily have the junior faculty do.” He rolls his eyes and grabs a beer out of the fridge. “We need to refill your water bottle now.”
You nod and fill it up with fresh water. Harry offers Nora a beet, but she declines since she’ll be leaving soon.
“I feel like I’m never gonna be home now. Maybe I can convince them to let it be an online section or somethin’.”
“That’s a great idea!” You say. “I bet they’d go for that.”
“The new department chair is just power hungry, she could easily teach the class.” He huffs.
“Well it seems like you were able to bargain a bit.” Nora says. “I gotta go.” She looks at her watch.
She hugs you and gives your belly another rub and out the door she goes. Harry wraps his arms around you and pouts.
“Any day now, huh?”
“Mhm.”
“How are you feelin’?”
“Terrified, but excited.”
“Me too.” He chuckles and kisses your forehead.
You fall asleep pretty quickly that night. All of the swimming really tired you out. You were thankful for the central air, otherwise it would be impossible to sleep through the heat. You woke up feeling sort of uncomfortable, almost like you had wet yourself. You absentmindedly reach between your legs and gasp.
“Harry.” You nudge him. “Harry!”
“Hm?” He rolls over and looks up at you. “You okay, lovie?”
“Yeah, I think my water broke.”
“Oh my god!” He shoots up and kisses you.
“It’s time.”
*Levi's POV*
While taking such a sudden few days off might have caused a couple bumps in the way things were developing around HQ, but he knew Erwin would be able to handle it and smooth things over, so he stayed focused on the task at hand.
Stripped of any signia, symbol, or uniform resembling clothes that could suggest that he was part of the military, Levi was dressed in plainclothes, having taken a carriage out to L/N’s supposed hometown early in the morning.  He still arrived with plenty of time in the day to investigate the town and see what he could find on-site, taking in the small, easily overlooked town that was more of a loose collection of homes bordered by farms, with a central farmer’s market to keep some local trade and business going.  Any serious buying and selling probably consisted in a day’s trip to one of the larger towns within Wall Rose, but it seemed they had basic foodstuffs here.  He managed to find a blacksmith tucked away in a corner between a small grouping of houses, as well as an old, empty building that had a weathered carpentry sign in front of it.  So there had been more trade smiths around here, before the town gradually lost those businesses.
Talking casually with the blacksmith informed Levi that a ways past the farms, there was a home that was the reason for most of their outside visitors--people who could afford to would put their elderly loved ones in the care center, and there was a separate building for the mentally ill to live comfortably and get the care they needed as well.  Visitors to the town usually consisted of relatives visiting their loved ones in the homes, or they were descendants that had moved away but came back for the occasional hometown or family visit.
Which meant Levi, having no ties himself and not knowing about the homes, stuck out a bit despite his best efforts.  The communities of small towns were tightly knit and they knew their own, so it couldn’t be helped, and he would have to deal with the fact everyone was going to be curious why he was here.
While talking with the blacksmith, he also heard that the carpentry shop had been the family trade for the Frazier family--the family who lost the daughter sharing L/N’s first name.  With the murder of their only child, there was no one to take on the family business, and the building had fallen into disrepair after the parents had gone to the home outside town.
That had caught Levi’s interest.  They’d been in the home for years judging from the sign alone, and the impression he’d received was that only the well off could supply their own stay at the home, or their family members paid for it.  If there were no children to pay for them, and they’d only been a small carpentry business in a no-name town, how could they afford to be in the home?  He doubted it was by the grace of the community, though it was a possibility considering the tragedy that had happened here.
Moving on from the blacksmith so he didn’t ask too many questions in one place, Levi made a mental note to make his way up to the homes to investigate the still-living parents of the original Y/N.  Making his way to the farmer’s market, Levi perused for any small town hidden treasures and struck up conversations, looking for a town gossip to get talking about the town’s history so that he could eventually hear the more personal tale of the double homicide than the technical report Erwin had scrounged up for him.
While trying to get the man selling the baked goods to be a little more forthcoming, Levi overheard a small group of children, three or four gathered around each other as one of the older children attempted to scare the smallest of the group with a surprisingly gristly tale.
“...clawed at the wood of the coffin, screaming for someone to hear her, too afraid to realize her screams took up what little air she had.  Her fingernails broke and blood coated the coffin, her elbow busted open as she pounded and shrieked for help, but no one could hear her so far beneath the dirt.  Some say she did manage to break the wood, but halfway through the dirt falling on her she couldn’t breathe, and body’s still frozen in her silent scream, so close to freedom, no one above ground aware of the terror she felt before she truly died.  Now, so she doesn’t feel so alone, Screaming Sally’s ghost crawls out of her grave and drags children like you from their beds and drags them into her coffin below ground.”
The poor youngest was visibly trembling, tears of fright in their eyes before one of the other kids shouted and grabbed them, making the youngest shriek and cry as they laughed and continued to pick on them.
“Tch.”  Levi turned to them, a glare in his eyes that he pinned on the older kids who should have known better.  “Oi!  Cut it out.”
Spooked by the scary voice, and even more so by the scary man they saw glaring at them, the older kids bolted, with the youngest running away once they were free of the older kids, most likely to run home and find comfort from a parent.
Levi turned his attention back to the stall in front of him, a woman beside him buying a basket of rolls as he scowled over the childishly cruel display he’d just seen.
“That’s one messed up horror story for kids to be telling each other,” he muttered, paying for a loaf of bread and waiting for the man to finish wrapping it for him.  The woman beside him turned with a small shrug.
“All the children around here know about that stupid story about Screaming Sally.  It’s been around for decades, and at this point, it’s almost a rite of passage to hear it eventually.”
Levi looked at her, sensing he might have someone who would be willing to share if he asked the right questions.  “How did it start?”
The woman sighed, shaking her head.  “Some poor caretaker for the graveyard by the woods about forty years back snapped after that double homicide and started trying to tell people one of the girls crawled out of her grave.  Everyone knows it’s impossible, not to mention the grave was undisturbed when folks checked in the morning after seeing how sincere he was.  They had to put him in the home because he kept insisting he saw it, and eventually the story turned into the Screaming Sally legend the kids are always sharing to scare each other.”
Levi’s head tilted slightly to the side, eyes widening momentarily in surprise as the unsuspected connection jumped out at him.
For the briefest moment, he was looking back up at Kenny years ago as Kenny shared some outlandish story to try and scare him.  When Levi had called out it’s legitimacy and accused him of spewing a nonsense legend that wasn’t even possible, he’d suddenly appeared a little serious, a small frown appearing beneath the brim of that signature hat of his as he gave Levi the reply that now rang in his ears.
“There’s always a little truth to every legend.”
Pretending his surprise was over something else the woman had said, Levi took the chance to try and pry the local story from her.
“Double homicide?  Out here?” Levi asked, suggesting that kind of thing never happened in places like this.
In his opinion, they were more likely to happen out here, since it was so damn isolated.
As Levi took his wrapped loaf, the two started to walk together, just a little further down the path as she indulged his curiosity.
“I know--it’s the darkest stain on this town’s history.  Still unsolved, too--one of those locked room murders I think they call them.  Y/N Frazier and Victoria Schultz.  The Fraziers’ daughter had been out late the night before and came to her parent’s home to rest instead of going back to her own home.  She was sick the entire next day, and her best friend Victoria came to visit her.  Sometime between the moment Victoria and Y/N were in the room together to the time the Fraziers checked in on them a few hours later, some psychopath managed to find their way into the room, tore Victoria apart beyond recognition, and disappeared with the Frazier girl.  Without the Fraziers hearing anything amiss!  The police thought it might have been the Frazier girl, because it was the only possible explanation considering the bedroom door was locked and any attacker would have had to come in through the window, and neither girl made a sound, so perhaps Victoria knew her attacker--but Y/N’s body showed up on the edge of the woods a few days later, poor girl.  They never found out who did it, or what exactly happened.  It still haunts the people in the town who are old enough to remember it.”
As the woman spun the more personal version of the tale, Levi’s mind filled in the gristly details that had been in the report he’d read.  How there had been hardly any blood left in the mutilated girl left behind lying on the bed, but far less in the room than there should have been, how L/N’s namesake had been found lying just within the forest’s edge, neck bruised and broken, as well as several bones, covered in bruises and lacerations.  It was a closed-casket funeral for both.  They had no leads, no one with a motive, no mysterious footprint or shadowy figure seen leaving the crime scene.  They’d just been murdered out of nowhere, and nothing like it had happened anywhere near the town ever since.  It was a sudden, violent anomaly in their history, and one that was going to leave a mark that would never disappear.
Levi said goodbye to the woman with the bread roll basket, standing in the middle of the road with his gaze turned towards the homes he’d been told about, a thoughtful frown on his face.
It seemed he had two reasons to visit this place:  the Fraziers and the caretaker.
Tumblr media
Once there, as curious as he was, Levi decided against visiting the Fraziers and asking about the events of forty years ago.  From what he’d been able to dig up, it was likely something that still haunted them to this day, and he wasn’t here to terrorize the elderly.
He did, however, pry into who was paying for their stay at the home.  Once at the front desk, he suggested that he wanted to pay for their stay, asking after the amount it would take and how often, before insisting whatever payments they were making themselves stop so they wouldn’t have to pay out of their own pockets.  At that point, he’d been politely turned down, the secretary informing him that the Fraziers already had an angel donor who was paying regularly for their stay at the home.
“Can I get a name so I can talk to them about splitting the payments?” Levi asked, leaning forward slightly in anticipation.
“I’m sorry, but...angel donors are what we call anonymous donors who don’t have any ties to the family but still pay for their care.  We don’t know who makes the payments, only that they’re made regularly and on time, so Mr. and Ms. Frazier can spend the rest of their days here.  I have no name to give you, not that I could, considering that would be sensitive information,” the secretary said politely, though there was a bit of a chill in her voice brought about by Levi’s questioning.  He ignored it, busy mulling over this new detail.
He had no evidence to support it, no reason to suspect it, but what if the angel donor was L/N?  He knew she was looking for ways to cut costs with how she spent her money, it was one of the reasons she had the tea garden at HQ--it would save her money in the future by cutting costs she spent on things like tea.  And her lack of personal belongings could also be from a lack of money to buy nice things for herself.  What if the money she saved from her salary was going towards the Fraziers’ well-being?
Again, he had no evidence.  It was just a thought, a far-fetched theory, but it was something to take note of and consider, just in case it wasn’t far off the mark.
Getting the hint from the secretary and knowing he was at a dead end as to who was taking care of the Fraziers, at least for what he would find here in town, Levi moved on to the next objective.
“All right, well, I also came to talk to someone in the psychiatric home.  He used to be a cemetery caretaker about forty years ago.”
Recognition immediately sparked in her eyes, as well as a bit of apprehension.  “We’ll need you to sign in, as well as put down a reason for visiting.”
“Fine,” Levi replied, taking the paper she slid over and writing Jacob, no last name--not that he’d have one to give even if he was using his actual name--and then wrote down social visit before handing it over.  Her eyebrows rose slightly and her gaze flickered up to him from the paper, and Levi gazed back at her calmly, waiting patiently for her to at least direct him the proper way.
“Room seventeen.  Follow me,” she said, leading them out the door--since they’d been in the home for the elderly--and a little ways away to the other building that acted as the psychiatric home.  Once inside she led Levi up two flights of stairs and down a fairly long hall to let Levi into the room marked seventeen in white paint.  “Mr. Briarton, you have a visitor,” she said after opening the door, allowing Levi to step into the room and take in a man in his late fifties, early sixties, suspicious pale green eyes narrowed at Levi as he stepped inside.
“I don’t knows you,” the man rasped.
“Jacob,” Levi said bluntly, stepping deeper into the room and staying conscious of the fact the secretary was temporarily lingering to make sure everything was going to be all right.  “I came to hear your story.”
“Hah?  Here to mock an old man?”  Briarton sneered.
“No.  Just to listen,” Levi responded simply.  Briarton sized Levi up for a moment, then looked at the secretary still standing in the doorway and gave a small wave.
“We’re fine, Janice, you can leave now.  I’s knows the rest of you’s is tired of hearin’ my tale.”
“Are you sure, Mr. Briarton.”
“Eh,” he grumbled, and Janice sighed and shut the door, leaving the two of them behind.  “Why exactly are you’s interested in hearin’ my story?  Everyone else says I’m’s crazy.  Locked me up for it, too!”
“I’ve heard the town legends.  Someone I knew used to say there’s always a bit of truth to the legends.  So I’m here looking for the truth,” Levi answered, leaning up against the wall with arms folded over his chest.
“Hmm…” Briarton hummed, contemplating Levi’s reason before he sighed.  “I’s guessin’ you’s already heard ‘bout the murders, if you’s here.”
At Levi’s nod, Briarton skipped over the events that came before, and went right to talking about the burial.  “Closed caskets they’s were.  Victoria had a pine box, Mr. Frazier insisteds on makin’ Y/N’s hisself, out of willow.  We’s buried them midday, six feets down in the grounds, six feets dried earth on those boxes.  I’s told they’s were both dead for sures, no comin’ back--specially poor Victoria.  Schultz’s weren’t allowed to sees hers it was so bad.  Course we’s all thoughts abouts it, we’s all hoped back then the killer’d get caught.  People kept comin’ by till it gots too dark and I’s closed the cemetery for the’s night.  My’s job was to make sure no ones messed with the graves, and I’s was patrollin’ like usual, and for the’s longest time, I didn’t hear nut-thin.  But sometime in the wee hours of the mornin’, as I’s was comin’ up on the girls’s graves, I saw somethin’ movin on the ground on tops of one.  I’s went to yells at them, to tell ‘em kids to scram, cause that’s what I’s thoughts they were.  But when I’s got close enough to see a bit better, I’s realized they’s was comin’ up from the ground--outta the ground.  I’s was frozen in place, watchin’ them’s drag themselves out of the dirt, clawin’ across the ground likes a wounded animal.  I’s was tryin’ to scream, but I’s couldn’t makes a sound.”
Briarton stopped, his wide eyes turned towards Levi.  “Do you’s know how heavy the dirts is on a coffin?  How hard it is to break open a coffin?  Impossible’s what it is!  My’s brother once locked me’s in one to scares me, and my’s mother lost it whens she found out.  I’s was kickin’ and screamin’ for what’s felt like hours tryin’ to break out, but all I’s got from it was bloody hands and elbows.  Ands that was without the dirts on tops of it.  But I’s swears this girl busted out and crawled outta hers grave.  Even if she’s managed to breaks the coffin, she’d’da been crushed bys the dirts.  But she’s still crawled outta hers grave.  She’s stood up, covered in fresh bloods and dirts, and she’s shoved dirt backs into the hole she’s crawled outta like a drunkard, gaspin’ and wheezin’ and wailin’ like a banshee, an’ then she’s disappears into the night.  An’ I’s ran for help, jus’ to get calleds crazy and locked up in here.”
Levi listened to Briarton’s tale in silence, studying the man’s face closely as he spoke to see if the man truly believed every word he was saying.  The terror in the man’s eyes was real, though, as he spoke of the impossibility of the haunting image, and there was no trace of insincerity in his face as he spoke.  He truly believed in the tale he was telling.  Considering the impossibility of it all, Levi also doubted, but he wasn’t going to call him out on in--enough people already believed this man crazy, Levi wasn’t going to add himself to the mix.
He only had one question.
“Who was the woman who crawled out of her grave?” Levi asked steadily, though the crawl of his skin as he said it told him he already knew the answer.  He just wanted to hear Briarton say it.
“Y/N Frazier.”
Tumblr media
The day had cooled--in fact, it was starting to feel chillier, the sun frequently hidden by clouds that seemed to be gathering across the sky, hinting at fouler weather on the horizon.  After taking his leave of Briarton at the home, Levi went looking for the now infamous cemetery--infamous in his mind, at least--and had made his way to the grave of one Y/N Frazier, where he now stood in silent contemplation, staring intently at the headstone that had engraved upon its surface the girl’s name, a birthday and date of death that showed she had barely been in her twenties, and a brief, “Beloved Daughter.”
He wasn’t really seeing the grave anymore, though.  His mind was a flurry of thoughts, theories, memories, information...none of the connections he’d made here made any kind of sense to him, but there were far too many to be ignored.  There was something here, something that seemed to be staring him in the face, but he couldn’t see what it was, so he couldn’t use it.  Not yet, anyway.
Maybe Briarton really was crazy, maybe he hadn’t seen Y/N Frazier crawl out of that grave that night and he’d simply snapped like everyone suggested he had.  But there was nothing to have caused him to snap, no trigger.  Not to mention, the sheer coincidence was far too strong to be a coincidence.
So, he entertained the possibility that the bizarre and impossible happened, that Y/N Frazier somehow survived, a mistake had been made somewhere and she was buried alive, and managed to crawl out of this very grave.  Ignoring the impossibility of that scenario still didn’t give him many answers.  If Y/N Frazier was still alive, she would have been sixty, seventy years old by now.  L/N back at the Scout Headquarters was in her early twenties, and very clearly /not dead/.  So, L/N definitely wasn’t this Y/N Frazier.
But that didn’t mean she couldn’t be related somehow.  If the original girl did survive, it would be possible for L/N to be Frazier’s daughter, maybe even grand-daughter, though that was starting to push the theory beyond what he was willing to suspend believing as impossible.
One thing the Screaming Sally horror story had made him remember, and that Briarton’s recounting had brought to the front of his mind to offer him another connection, was the conversation the other day between the rest of his Squad and L/N.
He remembered the tremble in her hand, the stillness in her posture, the flash of soul-deep fear, trauma, and pain in her eyes as L/N had softly stated that her biggest fear was being buried alive.
He had something big here, but he wasn’t sure where it fit in this messed up puzzle he was trying to solve, and was missing some key piece that connected it to something else.  He needed more than ever to see what she was doing in the Underground when she snuck out at night--whatever it was, he was convinced at this point it was the missing piece he needed to make sense of all of this.
But first, he needed to do something that would give him a definitive answer amongst all these legends and tall tales.
Tumblr media
It was a new low for him, he knew that.  The entire ordeal felt wrong and filthy on an entirely new level, but it was something he had to do.  No one else had thought to look, to disturb the grave of one of the murdered girls to see if there was any validity to Briarton’s claims, to the stories of Screaming Sally.  Everyone brushed it off as nonsense and went about their day, probably because it was so certain, and it was easier to believe the horror stories were nonsense.
Levi didn’t have that luxury.  He didn’t have the certainty, and the easier route was not the one he was going to take.  He needed answers.  So, he’d returned briefly to Headquarters in order to enlist Erwin’s help to give him the opportunity late that very same night to dig up the grave and settle once and for all whether Y/N Frazier had died.  It would help clear up some of the questions and theories when he found her body in the coffin, and it might put them back at square one in figuring out why this place and this name had been chosen by Y/N, but it would help bring them back to a world that made some sense, and it would help weed out a few questions that these legends and stories had brought up.
He didn’t want to think of the implications if the grave was empty.  He doubted it would be, but if it was...then this entire mess went far deeper than he could ever imagine.
Perhaps that was why Erwin agreed to help him, why he’d paid off the caretaker to make sure the grave was empty but leave the section Levi was going to be in undisturbed until Levi left.  Erwin clearly hadn’t approved of disturbing a gravesite, especially the gravesite of a murder victim, but Levi had strongly believed it was necessary despite his own misgivings, so Erwin had relented.
Now, Levi was in a hole that passed his head, digging the last few inches to the willow coffin Y/N Frazier had been buried in, filthy and tired but determined to get to the bottom.  Just a little further, and he would have his answer.  He would see the bones in an undisturbed grave, fill in the grave once more, go home, wash up, hate himself for a while for doing this to confirm what he already knew, and then go back to trying to figure out why L/N seemed so deeply connected to this place.
He hadn’t found any bodies frozen on its way to the surface, so he could already rule out the legitimacy of the children’s scary story about Screaming Sally, at least.
The shovel Levi was using scraped against something solid, and Levi paused.  Here it was.  He’d found it.
Kneeling down, Levi started brushing away at dirt so he could find the coffin lid, fingers brushing against wood, hand brushing a little harder to smooth away dirt--
He had to pull his hand back as he unexpectedly came into contact with splintered wood sticking up into the dirt, piercing his hand and drawing blood as he jerked in surprise, breath catching.
No…
A few more careful brushes with his hand, and he was staring at a coffin lid that had been busted open, shards of wood buried in dirt, but the hole clearly enough for a person to crawl out of.  He froze where he was as he stared at the sight before him, the odd, irrational fear that a hand was going to burst out of the hole and grasp his wrist strangely flashing through his mind before he pushed it aside.  He wasn’t breathing anymore, an admittedly trembling hand reaching out to pull back the lid, just to double check and confirm what he was seeing.
The grave was, in fact, empty.  The coffin was busted open with gouges that had old red stains upon them, as if it had been punched and clawed through from the inside.
His blood running cold and his breaths shallow, Levi had to fight not to think of the haunting image Briarton had described, the fear in L/N’s eyes, and the mental image of a woman trapped in this grave screaming and crying for help, having to tear apart her own body and defy all odds to crawl her way to the surface, tried not to imagine the terror of being buried alive like this.
Kenny had been right.  There was always a bit of truth to the legend.  He never imagined it would be this much truth, though.
Tumblr media
When Levi returned to HQ, the first thing he did was clean himself up and get changed.  Then, he made himself some of the tea L/N had gifted him, choosing one of the blends meant to calm in the hopes that it would help settle his nerves after what he’d seen.
Outside, he might still appear stoic, but inside, he was shaken.
Once he was clean, he had his tea, and he felt he had a better grip on himself internally and he was ready for the conversation, he went to Erwin’s office and very solemnly relayed his findings to the man, who looked no less disturbed by this unexpected turn of events than Levi had been.  They’d expected some kind of secret while digging into the truth about L/N, they hadn’t been expecting a full blown conspiracy on this level.
Once Erwin was up to speed on Levi’s findings, they started to hash out some theories and details, both of them well aware that they were still missing something crucial as they attempted to make a broader picture with the pieces they were currently in possession of.
The running theory they were working with was that Y/N Frazier was L/N’s mother.  It was the most logical connection they could come up with, even though it dumped a whole new slew of questions into this mess.
Why did Frazier run after she crawled out of her grave?  Why not return to her home and family, alive and well?  Why leave the town behind and everyone in it believing she’d died so terribly?  Why never come back to tell who had attacked her and her friend Victoria?  What happened that night forty years ago?  How had she managed to crawl her way out of a grave?  Why had she instead disappeared somewhere inside the walls never to be discovered or heard from again, hiding her true identity remarkably well?  Or more importantly, how had she been alive?  How did she survive those injuries?  Had a mistake been made and she’d been assumed dead?  Was the report faked?
How was the Underground supposed to come into play in all of this, and what part did L/N have in it as well?  If Frazier was indeed L/N’s mother, was Frazier still alive and living in the Underground?  Was that why L/N went down there every now and then?  Why not bring her mother to the surface with her?  Why, when she came to the surface, did L/N take Frazier’s first name and not use her last name?  Why not use her real name?  How did the events of forty years ago play into now, and how had it had an affect on L/N?
As always, whenever they uncovered something about L/N, it always came with a thousand more questions.  They could theorize all they wanted, but it wouldn’t bring them closer to finding the answers that they craved at this point.
And still, despite the shock and the...unease he had felt to find the empty grave and realize the reality of what happened in that town--or at least part of it--Levi still felt like there was another reality altering twist in this dark tale that was unraveling in front of them that would be far worse.  He still felt like they were far off the mark, that the still failed to understand the reality of what they were stepping into.  More than ever, Levi felt there was something dark behind this, and he began to feel the first hints of malice surrounding these secrets.
Whatever L/N was hiding, at this point, Levi knew it had to be dangerous.
Erwin’s concerned eyes probed Levi’s expression as Levi gazed at the empty teacup in front of him, well aware that despite his feeble attempt to calm his nerves and thoughts, he wasn’t going to be able to sleep tonight.
“Levi--” Erwin started to say in a grave tone of voice, but Levi cut him off.  He knew what Erwin was about to say, and he already knew what he had to do next.
“I know.  All I’m waiting for now is for her to make the next move.  This time, she won’t shake me.”
September 2010, New York - USA
Y/n would be lying if she said she didn’t cry like a baby when she saw Argo II return to Camp Half-Blood. She had been forbidden to help in the battle against the giants, but she was nevertheless not full at Camp. After the near invasion of Camp Jupiter and Reyna's visit, things got messed up there.
But the best part of the return of the other demigods was seeing Percy again. He looked extremely exhausted, but happy to be back in one piece. Y/n hugged him for so long that Percy almost fell asleep in her arms.
The boy was welcomed with all the frenzy he deserved, entitled to a hearty banquet and a visit from his father, along with a very tearful Sally and a relieved Paul.
Tyson had been absolutely thrilled to see his older brother talking to his friends by the fire, which glowed high and yellow, mirroring the emotion of the half-bloods.
Despite being as happy as the others, and maybe even more so, Y/n retired a little earlier that night. She didn't walk long before her absence was noticed.
‘Mingling with the shadows? I thought this was my own thing.” The girl smiled at Nico di Angelo, who walked over to her with his hands in the pockets of his aviator jacket, which was still too big for him.
“I'm going to sleep, Nico.” She explained, continuing her way to Cabin 3. “It was a day full of emotions, I'm tired.”
Nico nodded, walking beside her. Y/n always found it fun to be the same size as Nico, but now she realized that he was a few inches taller than she was.
“Are you okay?” she asked, bringing up the subject.
“I think so.” Nico replied, looking surprised by his own conclusion. “Maybe things get better for me from now on.”
“I'm sure it will.” Y/n opened an encouraging smile. Because he was the son of Hades, Nico suffered more than all the other demigods, which worried the girl. She hadn't seen him since the war of the Titans, but she talked to Percy during her mission and discovered things she didn't want to discover.
She looked at Nico. For the first time in his life, his face looked serene, as if his problems were gone. Y/n realized that it would be better not to go into details about the problems he went through. She did not want to end his joy.
“Di Angelo!” someone called, running up to them. Y/n turned to find Will Solace smiling like a ray of sunshine. “Hi Y/n!”
“Will.” She smiled. When looking at Nico, she noticed a pink tint on his cheeks and held her laugh. “Can you take care of Nico for me? I need to go to sleep but he doesn't want to leave.”
Will smiled, realizing what she meant. Nico looked at her with anger and indignation, but he didn't seem against the idea.
“Certainly.” The blonde took a step forward. “Have a good night!”
“You too.” She raised an eyebrow at Nico and walked back to her cabin.
She was still smiling when she passed Hecate's cabin, which looked darker than ever. Her smile wilted. She had always been a little afraid of the goddess's children since she found herself a half-blood and moved to camp. But that night, something seemed comforting in the hideous darkness of the cabin. Unable to contain the impulse that occurred to her, Y/n went up on the porch and went through the open door. None of the goddess's children were there, they were probably still at the stake celebrating, they always loved a good party.
Y/n didn't know exactly what she expected to find inside, but she certainly wasn't ready for what she saw. She had never entered the cabin since she had never been invited and it didn't feel right to enter without an invitation like she did now. But what she found was an absolute void. No bunk beds, bathroom, closet or chest. Nothing for the basic comfort of teenagers. All that was inside was a torch on the floor with a brown leather-bound notebook beside it.
“Take it” A whisper said, and Y/n knelt down to better analyze the notebook.
“Who...?” She started the question, but knew at the time that she had no need to finish it. Hecate was there. “Are you hiding in the shadows?”
There was a harsh laugh, but Y/n couldn't tell where it came from. It was as if the goddess moved in every particle of air around her.
“I heard that Poseidon's children were mocking, but seeing that feat face to face is much more fun. Ares definitely didn't say enough about it.”
“I don't think he has any reason to boast about it.” She commented, but her body was tense. Something about the goddess made her feel that bad things would happen any second.
“Take the notebook.” She asked, seeming to feel the girl's tension. “Take it and bring my girl back.”
“What does that mean?” Y/n asked, but never got an answer.
After several minutes, she finally let herself be overcome by curiosity, put the notebook under her arm and ran out of the cabin.
Y/n spent a few days without touching the notebook, which was comfortably resting on the small table in her cabin. Percy asked several times what the notebook was and why Y/n didn't move it, but the girl always answered the same thing. "It's just a silly notebook." She was afraid to open it and end up triggering something she couldn't control.
Percy and the others had just returned from a massacre battle with irreparable losses, she didn't want to leave anyone alarmed by something as stupid as a leather notebook.
Y/n tried to distract herself. She would swim in the lake, duel with Percy in the arena, ask Tyson to teach her something in the forges, help Chiron with pending camp, talk about the biggest zucchinis with Rachel, encourage Annabeth to talk nonstop about architecture, sometimes make her repeat everything he had said in Greek, but nothing seemed to get her thoughts out of the notebook. Instead of being distracted, she got some scars from the duels, burns from the forges and throbbing ears, but nothing erased the notebook.
Tired of trying, Y/n returned to the cabin and spent several minutes looking at the problem. She would get up a few times, making a move to pick it up, but soon she would go back to sitting on bed. When she finally thought she would be brave enough to end the trip, someone knocked on the door.
Changing her course, Y/n opened the door to the blond, smug figure.
Y/n and Apollo had spent a lot of time together a few months before, not that any of them had a chance to do the opposite. He had helped her save the Camp when everyone seemed too busy saving the world. Now she was no longer able to get rid of the sun god, who suddenly appeared in her cabin. At least now he had learned to knock on the door before entering.
“Good afternoon, beautiful lady.” He smiled, breaking into the cottage before Y/n had a chance to expel him. “What do you do locked in that cabin?”
“Apollo, seriously, now is not the best time.”
“Every hour is the best time for Apollo!” He smiled at her and Y/n found herself unable to say no to him. The god had that effect on her, but she couldn't explain why. She just went back to bed and sighed.
“What happened, Sunshine?” he asked, now more serious.
Y/n pointed to the notebook, like a child pointing out the bully who was mistreating her. Pausing to think, it was almost the same.
Apollo's gaze followed Y/n 's finger until it stopped at the Hecate symbol on the cover of the notebook, and he froze.
“What's it?”
“That notebook.” He got up and picked up it, playing with it in his hands. “I saw Hecate with another of his once many years ago. I asked her what they were, but she cast a spell on me that prevented me from speaking for two months. Where did you find it?”
“I found him at her cabin.” The girl admitted, unable to lie to the closest friend she had at the camp until that moment. “I heard Hecate ask me to take him away. I didn't understand what she expects me to do.”
“Write.” He suggested, after long minutes of silence.
“I’m sorry?” Y/n looked at him, confused. “What if something bad happens, Apollo? I don't know if I want to find out.”
The god smiled gently, taking the book to the girl and handing it over, along with a blue ballpoint pen. Y/n hesitated for a few seconds before picking up the pen and opening the notebook. But she didn't do much more than that, as the words “Owned by G. J. W.” they magically appeared on the first leaf, in a strange black ink.
Y/n looked at Apollo for help, but he just shrugged and encouraged her to write something below. "G. J. W.? This notebook is mine, and my name has none of those letters!”
Before she had a chance to tell Apollo how ridiculous it was, the notebook replied.
G: "Who are you?"
Y: “Y/n Y/l/n, are you?”
G: "Gale Wright"
Y: “How the hell am I talking to you through my notebook? Where you are from?"
G: “England. I'm a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, how about you? What school of magic do you belong to? ”
Y: "I'm not going to any magic school, I'm from New York, there's no such thing here!"
G: "I thought the United States school of magic was Ilvermorny"
Y: "I am not a witch!"
G: "Oh by Merlin, are you a muggle?"
Y: "Look, I may not be a witch but you don't have to curse me!"
G: “Muggle is a term for non-wizards ... But if you are not a witch, how can you talk to me? This notebook is bewitched, only those who have contact with magic could see it ”
Y: "I didn't know that the notebook was enchanted until now ... I didn't even know about the existence of a school of magic, wizards, yes, now schools? No, things are very different here"
G: "Different how?"
Y: "I am a camper at Camp Half-Blood"
G: "And what would that be?"
Y: "Well, a camp for demigods, of course!"
Y/n waited, but nothing else happened. She looked up at Apollo, who looked as upset as she was.
“School of Magic and Witchcraft of... Hogwarts?” She asked, hoping that Apollo would say something to her.
“I've heard of that school. Hecate loves to talk about how she has an entire chain of schools that teach children to do what she does. She is very proud of it.” He explained, taking the notebook from Y/n and examining the last conversation. “I just didn't think it was real at all. All the gods think it's Hecate's invention, but no one has ever tried to prove it.”
“Well, I think we just did that.” Y/n joked, but was far from feeling the fun of the situation, because, there in front of her, there was a problem. Perhaps a much bigger problem than she imagined.
