about equally good and bad was my pick

primary school (3yo - 11yo) was hell on earth for me tbh, i dont remember anything good that came out of that other than making me an absolute sensitive mess who cries at anything subtly minor AND a picky eater because of how i was treated differently during meal times (i forgot mostly everything but those memories stood out to me). also i could hardly connect to the girls, so i had to resort to making friends with the boys. i think that still happens with me to this day, considering most of my irl friend groups are majorly guys.

lower year secondary (11yo - 14yo) was ok but my mental pretty much declined during y9/14yo. i dont remember why, but i do remember nightly breakdowns almost every night. covid was a shaky era, i think i preferred it than being in school for year 9 tbh

gcses (14yo - 16yo) was ok? i think? shaky relationships here and there but was overall fine. occasional breakdowns though

A-levels (16yo - 18yo) were probably the most fun i've ever had in school. got even closer w friends, found new groups of friends, teachers were super fun to be around especially with the smaller class sizes; overall probably my best experience in school ever. i miss that period dearly and wish i could go back to it

and at uni rn?? its going fine so far. found a group of people to hang around (they're a lovely bunch), im kinda behind on work rn but that's my fault</3 joining societies and their events (especially pokemon and animanga soc) is super duper fun and i cant wait to join more of their events. meeting new people constantly is definitely exhausting since i hardly had to do that in the past 7 years, but here's to the next three years i suppose

Extra headcanons under the cut!!

- 7'2, still getting used to the height, but likes to carry smaller friends

- FRECKLES. HE EARNED THEM.

- Contrary to popular belief, I think he's one of the most sane because the worst he went through was cult sacrifice and shit, it's not like he lost his shit and went crazy, the man is just hungry

- I kinda agree with the idea of him having animal behaviors

- CLAWS

- Actually doesn't talk much, but will text (speech to text and also screen readers are a lifesaver)

- Doesn't care enough abt anyone's problems, will make a joke about it

- Sharp teefs, was tempted to say he has a shark mouth, but that felt like too much

- Horribly neat in terms of organization, but a messy eater

- Cold blooded like a lizard

- Is a proxy, but not in the same way, it's rare that he gets assigned any real work

Helloooooo friends! Here I drop a list for this year for monster things. Starting off a little early to have enough time to write and embrace the fall mood without cramming it all into one very spooky month. Last year I think I think I kinda burnt out 😔 so extra time for us all this year for spooky (and horny if you so choose)!

Rules: Can be a starter or a drabble. I can send it to you however you want. An @ post, ask, send it to you on disco. You can send your preferences how ever you want. Reblog this, send me an ask, dm. Just pick a monster and a setting! My muse can be the monster or your muse can. Can be NSFW or not. Just be clear af about what you want.

Monster List:

Vampire: Pointy teeth, ashen/pale

Werewolf: Human form normal, usually wolf form is big and scary humanoid

Dragon: Usually has a human form with some dragon like aspects if so desired(wings and horns). Or can be totally human with the faint hint like oblong pupils and sharp teef

Incubus/Demon: smol horns and little tail when low level. Big scary horns and long whip like tail when higher level

Merperson/Siren/Oceanid: Dealers Choice if they got the fish tail or are more like the og, which are beautiful human formed nymphs who lure unsuspecting souls to the water

Kitsune: Fox sprites. Known for their mischievous nature and trickery. But they can also be contracted to corrupted souls as a guide/servant of sorts. Usually have fox ears and tail in human form.

Cryptid: idk make them spooky and weird. Mix them with an animal or two into a corrupted form

Oni: big scary ogre monster. One to three horned. Good for size difference stuff.

Dryad/Nymph: human like forest sprites that are tied to nature. Dryad more tied to a certain tree. They’re supposed to be drop dead irresistible and to harm their home would harm them

Fairy: up to you if ur thinking fun sized or not. Some fae/fairy lore has them usually as human like with some odd aura about them and have a trait of some sort. Like dream weaving or influencing the mind

Witch/Wizard: a person of magical abilities

Elf: the sexy kind not the keebler kind. With the long pointy ears and long beautiful lines in their designs.

Chimera of some kind: idk if muse has a second form or some kind of transformation incorporate something spooky or different to monsterfy it.

Free card: request a monster not on the list. So long as they can still communicate in some way.

LETS TALK ABOUT TEEF

Side note: I’m using design and place ideas from several different continuities for two reasons: I like those versions best, and not all of these bastards are in RiD or Prime.

Other side note: some headcanons were built from reading specific fics, either by roundabout or directly correlated to, and will be credited at the end of the relevant section. Highly recommend them all, tho they are all just straight up porn😅

As it stands, there’s five groups I like to put fang types in (six if you count combined outlier types like Tarn and my Jeep Axle, but we’ll get to that later): Tetrahexan, Velocitronian, Warframe, Rodionite/Dead Ender, and Beast.

These are just where the style is seen most prominently, and most fanged bots from other places fall into one of these categories so it didn’t make much sense to split them any further. If there’s any offshoots you’re curious ab, feel free to ask!

Starting off with the smallest group, we’ve got:

Tetrahexan!

The nearly dead warrior race with a single canon representative gets its own type, why? Bc I gave him and my gal Cross Brace really cool teefers, and I think it separates them very nicely from the rest in more ways than one. Double why?

DOUBLE FANGS. AND SELF-SHARPENING.

Double fangs? Like, a set on top and a set on the bottom?

NO

Four true fangs on top, none on the bottom, made for the sole purpose of ripping through heavy armor with brute force. All four are thick and slightly hooked to better do their job, and so well sunk into a bot’s “gums” that it’s more likely to tear their own helm off than break one.

Thinking comparatively on the self sharpening, the other types of fangs are like needles or swords —needing some kind of outside source to keep them from going dull— but Tetrahexans have their own built-in sharpeners attached to their lower jaw.

Depending on the bot, it can either be a set of false lower canines that sit neatly between the front and the back fangs when the mouth is closed (Cyclonus, his false fangs are decently worn and curved outward a bit), or a set of indents that the teeth rest in like a knife block (Cross Brace, she’s absolutely terrible at not getting her lip stuck between her teeth and the slot). Both sharpen the fangs naturally as the bots open and close their mouths.

Like I said, there’s really only Cyc and CB to use as examples, but it works out bc they have the two different types split between them.

Moving on, we’ve got:

Velocitronian!

Bc I believe the zoom zoom bastards deserve them, as a treat. Also bc KO exists. He will be lending his service to us today alongside my lovely, spindly asshole, Coast.

The main thing that sets Velocitronians apart is they are what we would consider the baseline. They’re your average two on top, two on the bottom set that most would assume when thinking of fangs. Except that they’re really, really fucking sharp, and the rest of their teeth are basically just incisors, making their whole mouth like one of those guillotine paper cutters.

If guillotine cutters were made to chomp through as much thin plating and tubing as fast and clean as physically possible, which they Are Not, but these bastards are!

The fangs themselves are catlike, fitting together like scissors, and about average as far as fragility goes. Their purpose is simple: take as big a chunk off in as little time as possible without sacrificing momentum.

While most speedsters are built to be light, they’re also made to be aerodynamic and even, most importantly. Chomping off even a little too much from a competitor has the chance to give someone an edge, and while it’s technically not a legal move in racing circuits, you’d be hard pressed to find a bot that doesn’t do that shit.

Knock Out, unsurprisingly, is the textbook for Velocitronian fangs, well-maintained, sharp to the touch, and neat; my little whack job Coast, on the other hand, is all the way on the other end of the spectrum: crooked, chipped, and she doesn’t care as long as they’re sharp.

Moving away from city categories, we have a build type instead:

Warframes!

You love ‘em, I love ‘em, they’re great for size differences, and who better to use than THE Warframe, Megatron? Also, Blitzwing is here because this hc is ENTIRELY his fault.

Unlike Tetrahexans and their cannibal rumors (they weren’t), or the measures Dead End Rodions turn to for survival (more on that later), Warframes are actual bot-eaters. Or, at the very least, they’re designed for it.

Paired with a tank system that can break down just about anything and convert it into fuel and frame repair, Warframes have teeth that are built to kickstart the process.

Like molars mixed with sharp gears, Warframe teeth crush without care and interlock neatly for maximum crunch and proper mouth fit. Their teeth sacrifice sharpness, but it doesn’t really matter in the end when even the strongest plates crumple under the highest psi and thickest teeth of any other fang type (teeth tend to make up almost or more than half of a Warframes mouth).

While Megatron was the textbook average for Warframe fangs at the height of the war, years of getting his aft beat ended up warping his helm just enough that they never quite sat right, and after the war he ended up getting the edges flattened down to a less intimidating shape, though they’re no less dangerous.

Blitzwing, on the other hand…

Blitzwings teeth are just weird. The front’s fine, there’s nothing wrong there, but where the molars would be on a normal set, his teeth move. They’re set on a short track that churns them backwards like tank treads, adding to the level of rip-crush-tear he’s capable of.

Shifting back to cities, we’ve got:

Rodionites!

Plus their Dead End counterparts! Bc this is the best example of circumstance changing the fangs use. Drift was obviously first pick for examples, and Sweeper ended up tagging along bc I wanted more lore to give him.

By far, Rodionite fangs are the weakest type one can have. They’re long, thin, and shallow-set in front of the canine position like vampire teeth, more for show than anything. They tend to be so long, in fact, that it’s not uncommon for fangs to need special pockets in or below the lower gum line to properly fit. Due to their removability, they’re seen as highly customizable frame parts, sort of like body jewelry.

The one thing they are useful for, though, is piercing lines.

I’m sure you can see where this is going.

Dead End Rodionites do what they can to survive, and if it means sometimes siphoning energon from the already deceased (or still alive, depends on the bot) to keep going, it’s a price to pay. Other than that, most will either sell their fangs for a quick shanix, or lose them in any number of ways (fights, deterioration, thieves, what have you) over the course of their functioning.

Drift was one that managed to keep his —abnormally long— fangs from the start, and not even he is quite sure how that happened, considering both his history in the Dead End and the frame rebuilds, but he’s appreciative nonetheless. Sweeper, by contrast, quickly replaced his fangs with a shorter pair. He found long, needly teeth more a pain than anything (plus dust kept getting lodged in the resting holes) and changed them out not long into his first job.

Lastly, we’ve got my personal favorite:

Animal Based!

Not only does this encapsulate beastformers, but also whatever the RiD ��Cons had going on, and will be explained as such by my beastformer and a RiD ‘Con, Richter and Steeljaw.

The main trait of this category is that it’s far more fluid than the others. If their frame is animal-inspired, their teeth will imitate said animal within reason, and with few exceptions (the exceptions are usually bug based). Their purpose is the same, function changing with the animal, and it’s all around a rather simple category to wrap one’s head around.

With Steeljaw, he’s got the standard teeth that a wolf might have and uses them in a similar fashion, they’re just more compact and human-looking to fit better in his mouth. Likewise with Richter, though his Sabertooth fangs are the ones he uses in alt, and stick all the way front to back through his helm instead of ending in the gum (they’re also technically removable, but leave an uncomfortably large nightmare hole through his head).

The unofficial Mixed category is a group of bots that, for one reason or another, ended up with two or more kinds of teeth in their mouths. Representative species are Tarn, bc I wholeheartedly believe that man would reshape his mouth hole to better imitate Megs (his original Velocitronian-type fangs and Warframe everything else, but it was a little shoddily done, so they don’t lock together properly.), and Axle, who…technically kept their —normal-sized— Rodion teeth, just added Warframe teeth to the mix in an attempt to ensure a meal at the cost of their frames nervous system and a few non-life-sustaining bits and bobs, but they’re fine. Probably.

I wish I could say my reasons for spending so much time on this were warranted, or that the length was reasonable, but no, all this shit came from a late night fic binge and my longstanding fascination with teeth and fangs. If you read this entire thing, know I am extremely appreciative ❤️😅

PANCAKE TEEF!!

Yeah time for another Pancake Design trivia thing fiejdkd. I think I talked about this before, but I didn't explain it well.

Pancake DOES NOT have individual separate teeth!! She has PLATES!! Serrated sharp plates. Think like, an ancient fish. They are sharp, but the points aren't supposed to be that big

They can also be different colors, and the only individual tooth she DOES have is the pink fake one. That one can stick out of her mouth. NONE of the others do. Also it's not the last tooth, typically the second to last. Sometimes I just run out of room-

So yeah!! No vampire fangs, no large teeth that poke out, none of them are individual (except the fake one). She just has plated teeth! And a second set behind the first one. I haven't drawn it yet-

You’re embarrassed to ask. It’s a stupid question. 

“Hmm?” he says, not looking up from his textbook. 

He’s lying on his stomach next to you on his bed while you do homework together. Or at least try to. You keep getting distracted. It’s not your fault your best friend is so beautiful. Right now, he’s chewing on his pencil, and the way it’s pulling on his bottom lip, you can just see his bottom canines, or whatever those are called. They look…sharper than normal. 

“Your teeth,” you press, craning your head and leaning in to get a closer look. 

“What?”

“Have they always been so pointy?”

He freezes. The pencil hangs out of his mouth. His teeth look sharper than ever. Like they could cut you. A thought suddenly pops in your head, and stops you in your tracks. 

“Simon….do you have…” You swallow. “Fangs?”

Your heart is suddenly pounding, but you’re not sure if it’s from fear, or something else.

He’s quiet for too long. You worry you crossed a line, said something so weird and creepy that he’ll never want to talk to you again, even though he promised to help you with your Spanish homework.

He sits up, and there’s worry written all over his face. It makes a crease between his perfect eyebrows and turns his mouth down at the corners.

“I’m sorry,” you say, so quiet that only a vampire could hear. Or someone sitting next to you, his face inches from yours. Like Simon’s suddenly is.

“No,” he says, his big brown eyes bigger than ever. “Don’t be. It’s just… you can’t tell anyone.”

You feel your jaw drop in shock. 

“What?” you splutter. “You mean…?”

He brings a hand to his mouth, runs a finger over his bottom teeth, and winces. 

“You absolutely cannot tell anyone. Please,” he says, and how could you ever betray him?

“Of course not,” you breathe. 

There’s a beat, a moment of silence where you just look at each other, and then your curiosity gets the better of you.

“Are they… are they on the top, too?”

He sighs a tiny sigh, maybe of relief, or maybe just weariness (it must be terribly lonely to be a vampire and have no one know), and drops his head. When he looks back up at you, he lifts the corner of his lip with one finger. You almost gasp, but hold yourself back at the last minute. You don’t want him to feel any worse than he already does. 

In his row of perfect pearly whites, right next to his first molar, sits the pointiest eye tooth you’ve ever seen. You don’t know how you never noticed it before. You’ve stared at him, and at his mouth, a great deal, to be honest.

“Wow,” you finally say. “They’re really there.”

He drops his hand, and gives you a small, tentative smile. “Are you frightened?”

“No!” you say quickly, maybe too quickly. “No,” you say again, calmer this time. “It’s just… are you a…?”

“Am I a vampire?”

You can feel your heart pounding in your ears. You realize he must be able to hear it, too. You know you should be scared, terrified, even. But it’s Simon. He wouldn’t hurt you. 

“If I am…” He tilts his head. “I don’t want you to freak out, okay?”

You’re pretty sure he wouldn’t hurt you.

You nod, unable to speak.

He leans in, and you close your eyes. You clench your hands in the blanket. This is really happening, you tell yourself. It still doesn’t feel real.

“Don’t be scared,” he murmurs in your ear. And you’re not. You’re not! You’re brave. You’re so brave. It will be okay.

And then you feel his breath on your neck. You brace yourself for the pinch, for the razor sharp fangs to bite into the delicate, vulnerable skin. 

Your best friend is a vampire, and he’s going to bite you, and maybe it’s all you’ve ever dreamed of, but you will be okay. 

He places a hand on the other side of your neck. His lips graze the skin under your ear. You hear him draw in a breath –

And then he blows a fucking raspberry on your neck. 

You yelp and jump back as he falls sideways onto the bed next to you, laughing. 

“Your face!” he crows. “You should have seen your face!”

Your hand flies to your neck, but there’s nothing there except a damp spot from his spit. No wound, no puncture marks.

You open your mouth as he howls in laughter, but you can’t seem to find any words.

Simon is clutching his stomach now, and tears are streaming down his face. 

“You thought I was a vampire? Because of my teeth?” 

More embarrassed than you have ever been in your entire life, you snatch up books from the bed, not caring if they’re yours or his, and shove them into your backpack. You jump off the bed and start for the door.

“Hey, hey,” he says, wiping his eyes. “Come back, come back. I’m sorry.”

You stop. You turn around. He reaches a hand out, and because you are weak, so weak, you take it. You let him pull you back onto the bed. You sit on the edge of it, backpack still over one shoulder.

His face is calmer now, though still red from laughing. His big brown eyes find yours.

“You really thought I was a vampire?” he asks gently.

You hang your head. “I… I didn’t want to believe it…” Or maybe you did. Maybe that was the whole problem. 

“I shouldn’t have teased you,” he says, contrite. “I’m sorry. I’m really not a vampire,” he adds, as if that wasn’t obvious by now.

“I know.”

He leans off the bed so he can see in the mirror hanging over his bedside table. He bares his teeth at his reflection, turning his head back and forth.

“Are they really that pointy?”

“They really are,” you insist. You can’t help it. They are.

“I guess you’re right,” he sighs. “They’re not like, vampire pointy, though,” he says reasonably.

He turns back to you, and you cross your arms.

“Are you done teasing me?”

“Completely finished,” he says, holding up his hands in surrender.

You drop your backpack on the floor.

“Fine. Then will you help me with my Spanish homework?”

“Vatever you need,” he says in a deep, exaggerated accent, and you roll your eyes. You’re never going to hear the end of this.

Also spoilers I think.

So, we currently don't know if Roquefort is actually dead. He seems to share Chai's comical invulnerability and didn't explode like Rekka or Mimosa, so he might still be under that gold pile. So me and @alonsotigerheart talked and had some thoughts:

Roxanne Vandelay wanted her technology to help people, give people a new lease on life that they could not get otherwise. Roquefort was on his deathbed before Kale offered him a new body (and we don't know how much of him is still organic, if any at all). He might be a testament to what Roxanne originally wanted, if in a somewhat twisted form, so I feel that Roxanne might have some form of soft spot for him as a result.

Again, we don't know what's up with Roquefort after his fight, and that includes post-game. If he isn't dead, they Roxanne could probably send Chai back to retrieve Roquefort, or at least check to see if he's alive.

Gold pile is still there and Roquefort isn't moving, but there's still functionality signals radiating from it. If Roquefort won't budge otherwise...

TL;DR: Chai accidentally Synchronizes with Roquefort like he did with 808. Hilarity Ensues™

Proper elaboration (and some art) under the cut lmao.

Can be considered a prequel to this thing I made. So the crack is still present, because getting clonked upside the head with a heavy golden statue has got to hurt lmao.

Considering that Roquefort's body is (mostly, at least. Again, we don't know exactly how much of his body is robotic; he could be full conversion, mind-is-AI for all we know) made of Vandelay tech and even the wholly inorganic parts still look smooth and squishy similarly to 808 (which is also Vanedlay tech), it makes me wonder if Chai could also Synchronize with him.

808 and Chai seem to immediately start sharing the braincell when they Synchronize, and both Roquefort and Chai both already like doing terrible jokes, so now imagine Chai/808/Roquefort sharing a single braincell 83. Roquefort likes cats (if using the 808 photo overdrive on him is any indication), he and 808 deserve to be friends, they could be like Marc Antony and Pussyfoot.

A big thing I wondered with the possible Synchronization would be with him gaining a new form similarly to 808's Synchronization giving her a new "Ball" form, so have some more art:

I think he deserves sharp teef in his "human" form. Kintsugi (repairing cracks with gold) also felt fitting. Also gave his shoes three toes like his wolf form with blue nodes (similarly to his head) to denote where the claws would go. I showed Alonso GG Gio's paw pad shoe soles with the idea of Roquefort having similar because it fits and they loved them, so I added that too.

Gave him a smaller "compact" werewolf form as an analogue to 808's "Ball" form, while still also having access to his original werewolf form (if with some design modifications). Tail is the same style I used for "Roq-and-Roll". I think he deserves to have some form of hand-paws/paw analogues in his human form, as a treat 83 [ROBOTS ARE A PAIN IN THE ASS TO DRAW. AAAAGH.]
