Fellow Furries

Quick note, I do not know if you are supposed to capitalize furry or not so I am going to be leaving it lower case. Just need to say as to not offend any fellow furries please tell me in the comments.

This is going to be my 2nd post, but it will be the most open post I will ever put on Tumblr. This post will pretty much be my bio. This will be my story of how I became a furry. It all starts out at school, I am sitting at my desk when my friend says to me, you got to be such a dumb furry to wear those dumb headphones. ( Now the headphone he is talking about are bluetooth red ear headphones) Now I was very annoyed at him for saying this, so I said back you don't have to them do you, and they aren't hurting you are they? Also, Why does everyone hate furries so much, they haven't hurt anyone? This is where it all started. Later that day we had free time because we finished are work early. I looked furry definition and other things like that. I was instantly in love, I went and told my friend, I am a furry for that matter. He never spoke to me again.

Now I have a fursona, a furry friend, and another friend who supports furries.

Oh. and they are both part of the LGBTQ+ community. I could not ask for better friends. So, that is my bio. Oh, lastly I came to Tumblr to meet other furries. There. That is all.

What inspired you? #gardeninspiration My Grandmother inspired me to garden. #COVID19 has made me think of my grandmother daily as I know this virus could take her out of my life. I have witnessed friends losing their grandparents and am heartbroken for the way this virus takes loved ones and then the ceremonies to help us mourn. I know I bring alot back to the garden but I can hear her smile when I tell her what I am growing and listen to her remind me of the same garden tricks she has told me time and time again. I dip my hands in the earth with ease to weed and plant and I know it's from being her "helper" on so many afternoons. This world changes daily and the anxiety of not knowing brings me to my garden regularly as a place for mental help and regrouping. 🌅 No one can know 🌅

Does anyone else feel like they really want to talk to people about their problems, but you don't want the people in your life to know? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore the people in my life. They are the most supportive system and usually I do reach out and want to vent to them.

But this time I just want to talk to people that know absolutely nothing about me. Maybe to get a new point of view. It also feels so much more refreshing that I can't even explain it to myself.

I want to live my life but I also want to live a private life. I think a big thing about myself is that I overshare about my life sometimes. Now, everyone around me knows what I've been through and what I'm going through now. It brought on a lot of pressure to me because I felt as if I'm always being expected of something or everyone that I encounter is always wondering about the update in my life. Which lately, I have not been wanting to share.

I always felt like I was living my life to please other people. Whether that may be my parents, friends, or family. I'm slowly learning to enjoy life on my own without wanting the "approval" of others. So maybe that's why it's so refreshing... Talking to people that don't know you. Knowing that I'm being listened to but not judged (out loud at least) and especially not having that pressure of always being expected of something.

This blog makes me feel like I'm screaming all my problems to the world, but no one knows me. No one knows the face behind this account. It has really saved me. So, thank you all. You have saved me.

My mind

Fear for the mind itself is the worst because you can’t escape your own thoughts. Each day different from the next, not knowing whether I’m going to love or hate myself is the unexpectedness of my life.

One day, I could be loving each second of it and another hating each moment that passes. It’s a wave of emotions I don’t know how to handle. I could be visibly fine but on the inside, in my brain, I am broken in every which way possible.

Like today, I want to rip my eyes from their sockets and scratch my arms until they bleed because I hate every second of being me, stuck in my own thoughts never knowing when this next wave is coming to knock me over and drown me in my own suffering.

You watch me though, I’ll hold my head up. Slap on my smile I’m amazing at showing and say I’m good, real good and lie straight to everyone I love.

What’s wrong with me? Why do I hate my life so much?

I’ve got a house, a car, money, friends, family but for some reason. For some fucked up reason. I feel completely and unbareably alone.

My name is Gibana. I am one of the #MillionsMissing. I had a virus and then I never got better. This is my story. I used to feel tired on most days when I was younger, but I never really took the time to feel my pain and I pushed through my fatigue. I had kids and a career so resting was hard for me to do. As I got older, it was harder and harder for me to get out of bed. I have months or even years of remission. Some days I feel fine, and there are days I feel like I have the worst case of the flu. It feels terrible. I started going to the Doctor in 2007. I told the Doctor I was always tired, it was hard to get out of bed, I could not sleep, I was in lots of pain, memory loss, brain fog, headaches, and gastro problems. I went through tons of testing including MRI, X Rays, Bloodwork, and seeing other Specialists. My Doctor just could not figure it out. My official diagnosis of ME/CFS was in 2011. I was so happy to join the #MECommunity because I realized that I was not alone. I found others who are going through the same thing as me. I want the ME Community to know that they are not alone. Do not feel discouraged by all the judgment, or the people who are ignorant to what you are really going through. Just know that there is a whole community of others who care about you and know that what you are experiencing is a real, true thing! Through #MEAction and #MillionsMissing we are able to share our story with the world. We are able to show our strength in activism by sharing our illness with our friends and family, and to others in the world. 1st Post

The chances that people actually end up seeing this blog are slim to none I am sure. But I have high hopes that it will help to eventually put some peace to some of the emotions that I deal with in my life. And maybe even help some in my quest. Read on...

Today I received a text message from my father. It was an apology for how he treated me as a kid. It literally sank my heart.

 There was a phone call before the text message that included a voice message I am glad that I did not hear until the day was over. It was him saying that he didn’t know why he was having to apologize, he just heard that I was waiting for one. 

It isn't that I was necessarily “waiting” for an apology... Just asked once, did not get it, and had hope that one day I would receive it.

I did not have a “good” childhood. In fact it was more of a nightmare than anything really. My strongest memories are of abuse and mistreatment, verbal abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse... My home life was always unstable and constant chaos.

My memories mainly surround being punished for something - anything really. It carried into insecurity issues that hang over my life as an adult today.

I am a gay male in my early 30′s. I have busted my ass to become someone that I never thought that I could be. And I do have my issues, we all do, but somehow I overcame the stereotype that usually surrounds people with my type of past.

I hope to be able to share this with people, mostly for myself, but also to give some insight into my world even though I have decided to remain anonymous.
