Gremansi, or Furbeasts, are the result of experiments by humans with DNA-altering chemicals during the final years before their near-extinction during the Kataclypse

After the initial downfall of humanity, the beasts proved extremely clever and adaptable to the extreme weather patterns. Several species would survive the Age of Serpents and continue existing to this day.

Some observations I've made on NG++

On the map, grace points us to the following shardbearers: Godrick, Radahn, Rykard, Morgott, and Rennala. Once those specific shardbearers are vanquished, grace is directing us to our next goals(Forge of the Giants, Farum Azula)

Of the shardbearers, grace never points us toward Malenia or Mohg.

Once we reach the Land of Shadow, grace points us to Miquella.

For some reason, grace is also directing us toward that one Leonine Misbegotten that's taken over Castle Morne... 🤨

I'm at that moment in Words of Radiance when Dalinar tells Kaladin he needs to learn to ride a horse and Kaladin is terrified . . . 😂

i think it's really interesting that morgott names all of his "willful traitor" family in his boss fight cutscene and yet leaves messmer out, despite him seeming to be so overwhelmingly coded as The Quintessential Traitor. like, is it that

morgott considers messmer (again, heavily associated with snakes and fire, the specific symbolic enemies of the erdtree, and managed to get his whole throne removed) such a traitor that he refuses to even speak his name

morgott actually does not consider messmer a traitor (they do appear to share similar motives, and we have no real evidence of messmer participating in the shattering war, which is morgott's chief complaint about everyone else)

he's naming shardbearers who participated in the shattering war, specifically (godrick gets included) and messmer doesn't have a great rune/wasn't a part of the shattering, so whatever else aside he was irrelevant to the point morgott was making

none of the above; morgott doesn't even know messmer exists (very possible that messmer was born+grew up+got [???] while the omens were in the sewer and they just completely missed each other) so he's just like ah yes. malenia. miquella. that one inexplicable empty space. radahn.

Can I gush about my Elden Ring character to you??

This is Herald. They are Vyke's Mimic.

Vyke was a champion of the Roundtable Hold, supposedly the closest to becoming Elden Lord and beloved knight of the ancient dragon Lansseax (who took the form of a female priestess to commune with her knights so that relationship may have been something...more?). However, he becomes corrupted by the Frenzied Flame, and it appears he kills his own Finger Maiden.

In game you only ever see Vyke in his armor, but Zulie the Witch on YouTube revealed he does have a fully modeled face (as do a lot of NPCs like Sellen and the Dung Eater, and they're very good!).

But my character isn't Vyke, my character is a Mimic Tear of Vyke.

We don't have much to go on what exactly a Silver Tear is, who made them or how, but their motivation is pretty clear:

The Silver Tear makes mockery of life, reborn again and again into imitation. Perhaps, one day, it will be reborn a lord...

The desire of every Silver Tear is to be reborn a lord, presumably the Elden Lord. What better chance at becoming Elden Lord would a Silver Tear have than being reborn as the Tarnished who came the closest before his downfall?

I copied Vyke's face but recolored him as a mimic (thanks again Zulie). I gave him longer hair and stubble to suggest it has been wandering by itself for some time. I also gave them an eyepatch to indicate some wear and tear (who knows how long a mimic can sustain itself before being reborn again?).

But they are not opposed to Frenzied Flame, they simply see Vyke as a failure, not just as a lord but also as a champion of the Three Fingers. Their lord deserved better from such a promising knight.

They killed Vyke and took his spear for themselves.

Herald is the Herald of Chaos, Champion of the Frenzied Flame, and they shall be the first Silver Tear to reborn as a lord, that is their destiny!

For the alternative...is to have been reborn as imitation of another failure....

I figured I'd have an easier time with Radahn with a strength build, but I didn't expect to get saved by a clutch L1 mid-combo. It looked pretty sick as well.

do not view me as a credible source for elden ring canon. i try to keep my interpretations as close to what i see in game as possible but nothing is safe from the wrath of me thinking something is stupid, not even fromsoft. in particular the duplicate battles of like 3/4ths of the golden lineage piss me off. golden shade godfrey is mehh??? like i can kinda get on board with that one. but sewer shadow mohg and fucking GODEFROY make my blood boil. margit was on thin ice for a bit but at least there is a very clear narrative reason as to why he exists outside of "oh shit maybe we should put a boss here", and theres other corroborating evidence out in the world for why margit is Like That. as such i ignore any implications that come from the aforementioned boss fights because i dont like them ❤️
