He would gladly give up his life of sluttery (that I am convinced this man has. Just look at how he exists) if Buggy would just agree to join his crew, but will not push him if he doesn't want to. He just loves his pretty clown from a distance and waits. TLDR: Buggy is mad that he's in love with Shanks and Shanks just likes existing with and/or annoying Buggy (they come as a pair). A (somewhat) idiot captain, and a calm, cool and collected first mate! Oda literally stated that if Shanks was the sun, then Benn would be his moon. They balance each other out very nicely and I know that one will always take care of the other.

Classic captain/first mate ship. Beckman got all white hair at 50 for dealing with Shanks I know that. There's a part in film Red when Beckman calls Uta "our daughter" that activated my monkey brain.

Your honor they are married! The domestic fluff is all there. Benn loves his captain even though he is a handful and is always there to support him. Shanks has also followed in his parents footsteps and honoring the tradition of falling in love with your first mate. But I mean honestly can you blame him. Plus they raised a kid together!

Realizing I never made an actual post about it sooooo here is a Benn + Mihawk + Shanks fic I wrote a few weeks back! It's very short but sweet :)

Shanks sighs deeply and collapses into his chair like a discarded marionette, tipping his head back against his coat and closing his eyes. He looks ready to fall asleep where he sits. "You look tired," says Benn. Shanks hums and holds out his hand. "Take me to bed." "You can walk," Benn tells him, but hauls him to his feet regardless, because his captain needs him to. "Hmm," says Shanks. I don't want to. Benn scoops him up. He is very nearly weightless in Benn's arms, cradled easily against Benn's chest. The familiar absence settles against Benn's side, around his back, across his shoulders, where an arm should be to hold him in return. He's used to the nothingness, by now, but he still feels it, every time. He carries his captain to bed like a bride, sets him down on top of the blankets, and clambers over him with his boots still on when Shanks demands it with the silent press of sword-roughened fingertips. Shanks' eyes are more closed than open, the man himself clearly more asleep than awake. "Kiss me," he says anyway, and Benn does.

In the wake of Marineford, a captain and his first mate share a quiet moment of grief and exhaustion. A lot goes unsaid, but that's all right.

I was talking about this in a shipping sense!! Imo, I prefer Shuggy to Shanksbenn when it comes to bonds and I say Shuggy's is deeper but it really is a different dynamic, after all, so tbh we can't really compare the two in that way-- But I see what you mean!!

haha, I do this stuff n my tags, but it’s good to see here too. Law has had two ships go through (2/5), but they’ll be up against each other next round, so only one of the ships will go through for the round after that (and as much as I love LawBin, I think LawSan will win that round). Shanks has two ships too, but also up against one another next round (I didn’t count how many he was nominated for—ShanksBenn lost, so 3 at least). I think that the Cross Guild will win the polycule (again, I’ve been proven wrong many times) or take second place overall, so Mihawk will get rep somewhere!

Dofuwani’s a ship that might have an outside chance, but I still think that end game will be FroBin vs NamiVivi. (Dofuwani’s up against NamiVivi, so no chance I now think!)

Killer & Kid are through too, and ShaPen, but I don’t think ShaPen will win their round. Saboala against Cobymeppo next round.

Because I'm very weird, but:

Good job for Usopp in the duo shipping war. Of his three (3) ships, two (2) are still in the running.

Robin is doing the next best with two (2) ships out of five (5) continuing to the next round.

Luffy, Zoro and Jinbe are all out of the running, having had four (4), four (4) and two (2) ships, respectively.

Nami will continue with one (1) ship out of eight (8), whatever way her last poll ain this round goes. (It's very likely Vivi's only ship will continue.)

Brook and Franky are also currently continuing with one (1) ship out of three (3) and one (1), respectively.

Sanji has the most continuing ships at three (3) but coming out of nine (9) ships, makes his ⅓ less than Usopp's ⅔.

I only did this with the Straw Hats, though I recorded that Law had five (5) ships, Ace had six (6) and Sabo two (2) (one (1) of which is continuing which I could do in my head without checking the bracket)
