Fic Spoilers Masterlist

I've been thinking for a while that I wanted to make a masterlist explaining the spoiler levels of my various One Piece fics, and I don't have anything better to do right this minute, so here it is.

I'll be trying to keep it updated as I post new things, and I'll do my best to be thorough, but if I've forgotten about any spoilers in anything I've written, please let me know.

Also: I am generous in my definition of what counts as spoilers. This guide is as detailed as I can reasonably make it. At time of writing, I have posted fifty-three One Piece fics so far. There's a lot to take into account.

I'm separating the list into levels by chronological spoiler order (mostly determined by when the fics take place). Under those subheadings, things will be divided by light, medium, and heavy spoilers. If your definition of spoilers is restricted to major plot beats, the light spoilers sections will probably be safe for you, regardless of your story progress; that section is reserved for things like character redesigns, or offhanded references to plot events. Medium spoilers fics will probably not make sense without the appropriate context, or contain characters that haven't been introduced yet, but won't spoil any twists. Heavy spoilers, however, will.

AUs will be marked with an asterisk (*), for ease of navigation. Canon divergence will not. Otherwise, this list contains no character, relationship, content, rating, or word count information. It is just a spoilers list. (Note: more than half of these fics are rated M or higher. Proceed with caution.)

Spoiler Level 0: East Blue

These fics contain no spoilers past entry into the Grand Line (chapter 101 of the manga). Several of them contain no spoilers whatsoever, as long as you've met the first five crew members.

Light Spoilers: Strange Bedfellows (Strange Beds), On Their Altars You Lay Your Heart of Stone*, Good Meat, Duet for Sabre and Musket and its follow-up Coda: Reminiscence (Without Regret), and (to be sung to the tune of Stacy's Mom)* contain no spoilers.

Medium Spoilers: Two Masochists Attempt Wound Aftercare contains minor plot spoilers for the non-canonical film Clockwork Island Adventure. Losing Body Parts to a Goddamn Fish and A Rendezvous at the Baratie contain character and concept spoilers up to the middle of the Baratie arc (and the end note on Rendezvous references minor plot spoilers up to the end of Fishman Island). Familiar, A Chance to Die By The Sword, Pedestal, and Out Of His Depth* contain character and/or relationship spoilers up until the Roguetown arc.

Heavy Spoilers: none

Spoiler Level 1: Water Seven/Enies Lobby

The amount of work it would take to sort my existing fics by spoiler level for every single arc in One Piece does not feel worth it. Instead, I'm going by the most major plot milestones. These are the fics which are spoiler-safe as long as you've finished the Post-Enies Lobby arc.

Light Spoilers: Sanji Bi Panic™ and its sequel, Kitchen Shenanigans, are set during Alabasta and contain a character spoiler, but if you think you know who it is based on the titles, then you've met him.

Medium Spoilers: the thighfucking fic contains character spoilers for the end of the Alabasta arc. One AM in the Galley contains character spoilers for the end of the Enies Lobby arc.

Heavy Spoilers: none

Spoiler Level 2: Marineford

If you have not finished Marineford and the associated arc wrap-up, these fics may contain spoilers.

Light Spoilers: Regret is the Skin You Shed (Just to Make it This Far)*, Revolving Door, and A Study of Negative Space contain minor character spoilers for a character introduced during the Skypiea arc but not expanded upon until the Marineford arc.

Medium Spoilers: The Babygirl Problem* contains character spoilers up to the middle of the Sabaody arc. One More Song contains minor plot spoilers up to the middle of the Sabaody arc. Some Sort of Poisonous Cupcake*, Black and Fuchsia Sugar Roses*, Company Time*, Black Cherry Sangria*, Elsewhere, In a Different Training Montage*, Vain Creatures*, and Sweet, Bloody Porcelain* contain relationship spoilers up to the end of the post-Marineford arc for a character introduced during the Thriller Bark arc. A Study of Grief, I Suppose contains character spoilers up to the end of the Marineford arc.

Heavy Spoilers: Both Hands With a Heart to Hold* and A Treatise on Absence and Loss contain plot spoilers up to the end of the Marineford arc. They Grow Like Flames* and Mismatched* contain plot and character spoilers up to the end of the Marineford arc.

Spoiler Level 3: Fishman Island

These fics may contain spoilers up to the end of Fishman Island.

Light Spoilers: don't ask me who's driving, Just This Once, A Horny Interlude, Partway Through Some Training Montage*, and Horny Interlude II* are set ambiguously post-timeskip, but contain no spoilers. Portrait of an Oncoming Storm contains minor spoilers for the Return to Sabaody arc.

Medium Spoilers: Outlaw Red, An Eye for An Eye (Kuraigana, One Year In), Identical Sets, and Equals contain plot and powerup spoilers for the events during the timeskip. Government Dog contains minor character spoilers for promotions gained during the timeskip.

Heavy Spoilers: none

Spoiler Level 4: Dressrosa

You know the drill. End of Dressrosa.

Medium Spoilers: The Crocodile Teeth series (A Necklace of Crocodile Teeth, Strings Around His Wrists, and Almost Tame) and A Favour contain character spoilers up to the beginning of the Dressrosa arc.

Heavy Spoilers: Lazy Morning Head, Four Vignettes in Marine Uniform, A Guy With a Pin (to Burst Your Bubble)*, With Every Wall Ablaze Around Us*, Your Restless Dreams (I)*, and And the Devil Answers contain plot and character spoilers up to the end of the Dressrosa arc.

Light Spoilers: Smoke and Cherry Blossoms and A Private Moment (a Reunion) contain minor plot spoilers up to the beginning of the Wano arc.

Medium Spoilers: Fucking Pirates and A Particularly Sweet Red contain plot spoilers up until the beginning of Act 3 of the Wano arc. King of Beauty, King of Beasts contains spoilers up until the middle of Act 3 of the Wano arc. last week my bestie and I watched the Hidden Inventory arc of Jujutsu Kaisen and my intoxication kink went woah hello over Gojo vs Toji

so of course I had to write a fic about Gojo blowing all his synapses just to get high. because he’s a freak and I love him

it turned out more intense & poetic (and also more neurospicy-understimulation-y?) than I expected, but that’s not really surprising at this point. I’ll probably write another fic later from a more cheerful angle, it’s kind of a vibe

Shanks sighs deeply and collapses into his chair like a discarded marionette, tipping his head back against his coat and closing his eyes. He looks ready to fall asleep where he sits. "You look tired," says Benn. Shanks hums and holds out his hand. "Take me to bed." "You can walk," Benn tells him, but hauls him to his feet regardless, because his captain needs him to. "Hmm," says Shanks. I don't want to. Benn scoops him up. He is very nearly weightless in Benn's arms, cradled easily against Benn's chest. The familiar absence settles against Benn's side, around his back, across his shoulders, where an arm should be to hold him in return. He's used to the nothingness, by now, but he still feels it, every time. He carries his captain to bed like a bride, sets him down on top of the blankets, and clambers over him with his boots still on when Shanks demands it with the silent press of sword-roughened fingertips. Shanks' eyes are more closed than open, the man himself clearly more asleep than awake. "Kiss me," he says anyway, and Benn does.

In the wake of Marineford, a captain and his first mate share a quiet moment of grief and exhaustion. A lot goes unsaid, but that's all right.

I just wrote and posted the very first fanfic for a new fandom on AO3

that’s a neat feeling

the fandom is Kill Blue, a fun and wholesome new Shonen Jump series that I really don’t want getting cancelled, wherein a middle-aged hitman gets de-aged and has to infiltrate a middle school. it’s refreshingly wholesome, both regarding the protagonist’s attitude towards school, and his developing dynamic with one of his female classmates. (it’s not creepy, you guys. it explicitly calls out the creepy potential of the situation and shuts it down at pretty much every turn. it’s depressing that I have to call that ‘refreshing’, but it sure is pleasant to read.)

At the first opportunity, Zolo dragged Sanji aside.

Sanji had been expecting as much. He let Zolo haul him into a quiet corner, already bracing for a fight, but that wasn't what he got. Instead, the second they were out of sight, Zolo pulled him into a hug.

For the briefest moment, Sanji froze up. Zolo's grip was always powerful, but this time, it felt desperate. He hooked his chin over Sanji's shoulder, and wrapped both arms around Sanji's ribs, and clung.

Sanji's hands settled tentatively on Zolo's muscular shoulders. He could feel Zolo's agitation, the rapid rise and fall of his chest against Sanji's and the tension, almost like a hum, through Sanji's haki. "Mosshead," he tried helplessly.

"You left me."

Not us. Not Luffy, not the crew, not us. Me.

Sanji burst into tears.

"I'm sorry," he managed to babble, "I'm sorry, mosshead, I'm so sorry." He tried to keep his voice down, but he wasn't sure his frantic attempts achieved anything more than a few horribly hitched breaths. "I'm so sorry."

Zolo just squeezed him tighter, and buried his mouth in the crook of Sanji's neck. "You can't scare me like that, cook," he mumbled into the collar of Sanji's yukata. His hands were shaking where they lay like brands against Sanji's back.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, Zolo, I'm so fucking sorry." Unthinkingly, Sanji dug his fingers into Zolo's back through the thin linen of his yukata, but Zolo didn't protest. He didn't protest, either, when Sanji pressed closer, even when there was no closer left to get. He still welcomed him, took Sanji's weight effortlessly as Sanji climbed into his arms and wrapped both legs around Zolo's waist to hold him tighter, and when Sanji squeezed him harder, Zolo tightened his grip and squeezed right back.

It took a while for the flood of emotion to recede. They didn't move, didn't speak, just waited it out, until Sanji could stop crying, and the tremor had subsided from Zolo's hands, and the desperate need they'd both felt had been soothed by the warmth of each other's bodies. Then, finally, they eased apart. Slowly, carefully, still too reluctant to really let go, Sanji lowered his feet back to the ground, and the crushing pressure of Zolo's arms around him softened in kind.

Sanji leaned back, resting his weight in Zolo's hands. Their faces brushed past each other, but before they could part properly, Zolo twisted to press a lingering kiss on Sanji's cheek.

Sanji returned it reflexively. They lingered there for another moment, lips pressed to each other's skin, until their posture slackened once more. Kisses melted into quiet breaths, and they lingered once more, leaning against each other and breathing each other in.

"I'm really sorry," Sanji whispered one last time, and Zolo pressed one last kiss on his cheek, and they slowly unfurled.

time to talk ZoSan? let’s talk ZoSan. three fics to discuss today, all three of them rated Explicit, so this is firmly a no-minors-allowed fic introduction post

fic 1: don't ask me who's driving.

in my notes on the original draft I believe I referred to this as a ‘contextless limo blowjob’. I was very much grabbed by a very specific mental image so I wrote it down. wasn’t the first time, won’t be the last, it makes for excellent fanfics.

the super fun spicy part of this fic is that Sanji is the dominant one for once! because while I adore submissive Sanji (so so so much), I think it’s very important to the ZoSan dynamic that Zolo also gets a chance to be subby sometimes. even if it is with the approximate attitude of a whole adult tiger daring you to try and scold it. which it is.

I’m proud of this fic from top to bottom. I wouldn’t necessarily rank it in my top five, but it’s solidly good quality from start to finish, and there are some excellent lines in there too.

it’s short (1.4k) and sweet, so if you love a good throatfuck & gratuitously thirsty descriptions of Sanji, give it a read!

fic 2: Two Masochists Attempt Wound Aftercare.

I watched one of the super early OP movies (I think it’s literally the second one?) purely to watch that one Sanji fight with the unnecessarily good animation. came out of it thinking, wow, that was really just 50 minutes of Sanji foot whump, huh. couple days later I stepped on a nail and wrote this fic.

do I have a ~Thing™~ about feet? no. do I have a ~Thing™~ about Sanji’s feet? ...maybe.

(I definitely have a thing about ZoSan foot worship. but that’s not a foot thing, that’s a weapons thing. anyway.)

this fic is 2.7k of foot care, wound-bandaging, and discussions of masochism. heavy on the banter and ZS friendship, with a generous dash of comedy. if you hate it when Zolo and Sanji get along with each other, then I’m afraid this fic isn’t for you, but if you like it when they’re friends, good news! so do I ^_^
