I have been thinking insanely hard about my next story, I have bits and pieces for different characters, but I need to get them lined up, I will be insanely busy this weekend so posting will be Friday or perhaps late on Monday as I will write and edit on my phone before uploading it to my laptop. Anywho, I could ramble on for hours but I would appreciate opinions, who do you all want to see in the next fic?

He has more courage and nerve than anyone else in the whole bloody series.
lol now im just imagining voldemort in the middle of brutally torturing snape to death stopping and being like 'oh sorry my bad'
no but seriously. i love how snape has such a calm and understated way of recounting what must have been a tremendously harrowing experience.

thinking about how delphi must have really hated albus to go through all the effort to do that to him. you could tell me she hated him by association with harry, and i think that’s how it started off. but i think she began to actually hate albus and his feelings he would confide to her about his dad because at least he had a dad. it probs filled her with a twisted sense of glee to see the man who murdered her father (more of an idol, but whatev) struggle, but also envy that at least he tried and was actually present in albus’ life.

“And My Soul, Dumbledore?” — The Case for Snape Never Killing Before That Night
We often talk about The Prince’s Tale as the final reveal of Severus Snape’s true loyalties—but there’s a moment in that chapter that gets overshadowed by the big memories, the Patronus, the “Always.” And yet it might be the most damning and revealing line in the entire series.
It’s this:
“And my soul, Dumbledore? Mine?”
Let’s sit with that for a second.
Snape is being asked to kill. Not for power, not for punishment, not for vengeance—but out of mercy. Dumbledore is dying. The end is already written. All he’s asking for is dignity.
And Snape balks.
He doesn’t recoil at the strategic risk. He doesn’t flinch at the morality of sparing Dumbledore’s life.
He flinches because of the possibility that this will damage his soul.
This isn’t the voice of a killer.
That one line unearths so much about who Snape is beneath the persona—beneath the spy, the double agent, the snarling teacher. It reveals that he has not taken a life before.
Because if he had? This would be a non-issue. He wouldn’t need to ask. The damage would already be done. The soul, already torn.
But instead, he stops and asks:
Will this be the thing that breaks me?
That’s the cry of a man standing on a line he hasn’t crossed.
And the fact that he still believes in the soul at all is deeply significant.
Let’s compare him to real killers in the series:
• Voldemort doesn’t flinch at murder—he does it for power, to fracture his soul on purpose.
• Bellatrix (and many other Death Eaters) kills for sport.
But Draco, when faced with the same choice, cannot do it. Harry, even in war, casts Expelliarmus.
And Snape—the supposed villain of the early books, the morally ambiguous double agent—asks if his soul will survive it.
He’s not worried about punishment. He’s worried about what killing will do to him.
That is not the thought process of a man with blood on his hands.
Dumbledore’s response is everything:
“You alone know whether it will harm your soul.”
Not “Your soul’s already lost.”
Not “It won’t make a difference.”
Not even “You have no choice.”
Dumbledore leaves it to him.
That means he believes Snape still has something to lose.
He wouldn’t ask this of someone whose soul was already fractured. He asks it of Snape because he knows this will be his first and only kill.
The implication is enormous.
This is a man who has done horrific things. He’s served Voldemort. He’s used dark magic. He’s endangered children.
But he has never killed. Not once.
And when he finally does, it’s to:
• Honour a dying man’s wishes.
• Spare a child’s soul (Draco’s).
• End suffering, not prolong it.
And even then, it tears at him.
So what does that make him?
A villain? An anti-hero? A deeply damaged man trying to atone? Maybe all of the above.
But not a murderer.
Not by choice. Not by pattern.
Just once. And it nearly breaks him.

THIS is why I say Lily didn’t deserve him. She was almost as bad as James. And yet Severus loved her. And never stopped loving her. Everything he did was for her.
Lily Evans was far from a white knight in shining armor in the confrontations between James & Co. and Severus. And if you want to talk about her toxic friendship with Snape, don’t try to erase her contribution to the equation.

Apparently, her close friend is lifted upside down by a spell that causes his robes to fall and expose his underwear. As he helplessly struggles, flailing to free himself, a crowd gathers to watch the spectacle. His wand is out of reach, and he is being mocked and threatened. Of course, as a true friend, she finds this picture amusing enough that she has to hold back her laughter. You know, absolutely reasonable behavior for someone who cares for you deeply. Moreover, imagine if Remus were in a similar situation—no doubt his friends' first reaction would be to laugh, or perhaps yell at his bullies to put him down. With his wand in hand, James Potter would stand by and wait for his friend to be released.

Definitely a turning point in Lily and Severus's friendship. Though Severus's behavior was heavily dictated by a strong sense of hurt after such a public humiliation and violation of his privacy, as you all say, these circumstances justify nothing when it comes to throwing those kinds of insults. Fine.

Oh, but what explains her response, then? Was she hurt too? Humiliated? If you’re saying that the mental state after such a traumatic experience as the one James inflicted upon Severus shouldn’t have affected his words, what justifies Lily’s behavior? What made such a saintly person as she join in the ridicule of her so-called friend in an instant? Not only did she join in by calling him the insulting nickname used by his abusers, but she also added another mockery of Severus to the rotten pile as if it weren’t enough already. And I want to remind you once again that Lily lost control of her emotions before she had even gone through half the humiliation that Snape had endured, for the record.
Thus, it appears that there is a precedent of hypocrisy here. Why do you make this situation appear as a one-sided insult (Severus is the big bad wolf and Lily is the victim) rather than a mutual emotional outburst? Why is Lily allowed to feel hurt but Snape isn’t, though Severus’s emotional damage is at least double? Fine. Let’s move on to the approach both of them took in their apologies.

So, apparently, Severus felt guilty after committing such an atrocity as calling Lily a Mudblood. He made a sincere attempt to apologize. Lily didn’t feel guilty for her contribution to his public humiliation; she was sure the only villain here was Severus.

Lily had every right imaginable to reject his attempts to make amends, but the thing is, Severus reconsidered his behavior—she never did. Moreover, she expressed absolute skepticism about his redemption. Should I even mention that she later started dating his bully? The one who never even tried to apologise for his assaults on Snape?
Somehow, she believed in James's redemption even without him admitting his wrongs. Let it be. That’s not the main point of discussion. What I really struggle to understand is how, given all these circumstances, Lily becomes a cheered, glorious friend, and Severus is commonly believed to be the villain in their dynamic.
Did I overlook something? Prove me wrong, if you please. Open my eyes to where exactly Lily is a saint or martyr. Where is she even a good friend in the first place? I’m all ears.

One thing that really pisses me off is how Snaters or anti-Snape people, or whatever the hell they want to call themselves, decide to twist canon to fit Severus into their image of an irredeemable son of Lucifer whose actions are driven by absolute evil. Some of the claims they make while blatantly ignoring canon are:
Severus is resentful toward Harry because Lily chose James. False. This is one of the most common narratives that stems from the idea that Severus is a creepy, obsessive stalker fixated on his childhood friend. It's literally NOT true. Severus isn’t resentful toward James because of Lily. He has plenty of reasons to resent James that have nothing to do with Lily, such as being bullied by him for seven years, being given a horrible nickname, or being stripped in front of the entire school just because he "existed." Ignoring that James was a bully—specifically to Severus—is a way of villainizing the victim while completely disregarding the fact that this wasn’t a love triangle issue. It was a case of abuser and victim, and Severus was the victim. And seeing the face of his abuser constantly on a rude kid who keeps questioning him and recklessly putting himself in life-threatening situations is obviously triggering as hell.
Severus was an incel stalker obsessed with Lily. Since when? Severus was canonically friends with Lily years before they went to Hogwarts. They hung out together and had a friendship. He wasn’t stalking her; he was her damn friend. F-R-I-E-N-D. They stayed friends until their relationship fell apart. She cut ties with him, and he didn’t go chasing after her or spying on her. There’s no point in the canon where it’s implied that Severus was stalking Lily after their friendship ended, let alone after Hogwarts. And that nonsense about him hugging her dead body? Spoiler: THAT NEVER HAPPENED IN THE BOOKS. It’s exclusive to the movies and therefore not canon. And the “incel” accusation? Did Severus ever ask her out? Did he insult or assault her for not wanting to be his friend anymore? No, he accepted that she told him to get lost and left with his tail between his legs. That’s not incel behavior.
Severus wanted to be a hero but was selfish. False. Severus never, ever, in his life wanted to be a hero. He had a debt to himself, to his guilt over his actions, and he wanted to atone for his sins, period. Even Dumbledore questions him by asking if he really wants to hide "his best side" from others, and Severus prefers it that way. He never wanted people to see his good side or know how much he had sacrificed. He wasn’t interested.
Severus deserved the bullying he suffered because he tried to get the Marauders expelled. False, because no one deserves to be tormented by rich brats abusing their privileges out of boredom. And false because Severus didn’t want the Marauders expelled—he wanted his abusers expelled, which is entirely different and absolutely justifiable, because anyone in his shoes would want to see the people tormenting them gone.
Severus only did what he did because of Lily and his obsession. False, because first of all, it wasn’t an obsession—it was grief, guilt, and enormous remorse. And doubly false, because when Dumbledore tells him that Harry (whom Severus has literally risked his life for several times to protect out of guilt over Lily) has to be sacrificed, he still goes along with the plan. By then, he isn’t driven only by his debt to Lily but by a genuine desire to defeat Voldemort.
Snape is a murderer. False. There’s no indication in canon that Severus killed anyone besides Dumbledore, and that was euthanasia—Dumbledore himself asked for it. There’s also no evidence that he tortured anyone.
Snape was a Nazi and a racist. False. The Death Eaters are not equivalent to Nazis, and blood purity isn’t equivalent to racism. With that cleared up, Severus was literally half-Muggle because his father was Muggle, and he grew up in a Muggle environment. His early life was in a Muggle world, and he even mentions that his father disliked magic. His prejudice against the Muggle world comes from having an extremely negative personal experience, knowing only a poor, resource-starved Muggle world, with an abusive and violent Muggle father. That alone justifies his need to cling to the magical side of his heritage. Moreover, being a kid with zero financial resources, no family support, coming from a violent environment, and experiencing further bullying and ostracism at school by wealthy pure-blood kids who targeted him as their punching bag made him the perfect target for any extremist cult—especially when the future leaders of that cult were in his house, where he had to fit in or face more bullying and isolation. Ignoring all the social background of the character to push the narrative that he’s evil because he made a terrible decision at 17 is classist and prejudiced. Plus, remember that Severus spent almost 20 years serving Dumbledore. He switched sides practically right away.

do you think lucius only realize he don't want to be a death eater after voldemort was defeated in the 1st war or even during it?
speaking of what are your thoughts/hc on why narcissa didn't take the dark mark despite her sister and her husband doing it? tbh i always wondered how she could've avoided it? i mean she was part of it right, she was in the meetings too
I always thought it made sense that Draco was a difficult pregnancy.
I say that because Lucius and Narcissa seem like the sort of couple who would have loved more children. Narcissa was close with her sisters before things fell apart, and Lucius was an only child... but he's so social I think that must have been lonely for him. I think he would have loved it if Draco had a younger brother or sister. And the only barrier they'd be dealing with there would be a medical one, so.
(also, I love whenever the the Malfoys and the Weasleys are foils, and the idea of Draco and Ron being born at pretty much the same time - but Ron is one of many, a little neglected, mom is a little disappointed he's not a girl etc. while DRACO is so wanted and so special. That's good stuff.)
I also think that if the Malfoys were dealing with fertility issues, Narcissa suffering, maybe even having a miscarriage - that would have made early-twenties Lucius grow up REAL fast. Because yeah, I do think that when Draco was born - about a year before Voldemort's downfall - Lucius' priorities shifted completely, and he started looking for a way out.
And I say that because Lucius rode the wave of the first war really well, coming out with his money and prestige so intact, which would have taken some planning. Lucius is also one of very few Death Eaters who actually got off using the 'imperius curse' defense. (I think the only other one is Avery.) I like the idea that he did actually plan that. Like - okay. You could have someone you trust (Narcissa, maybe Severus) put the imperius curse on you for a couple months, and that way when you're asked "Were you directed to follow Voldemort's orders under the imperius curse," you can say yes, even if you're under Veritaserum.
(Nott senior also seems to have also come out of the first war basically unscathed, but he also seems much more cautious than Lucius. I'll bet he was very good at making sure that there was never much actual evidence against him. Crabbe and Goyle senior also seem to be doing fine, and I tend to think it's because Lucius got them out (possibly because their wives were close with Narcissa? All three women would have been pregnant at the same time.) Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle are *quite* committed to keeping Draco Malfoy in one piece. I love Draco, but he does spend several books being a little shit with no ability to defend himself, so they do have their work cut out for them.)
I also think a Narcissa who spent the first Voldemort war dealing with pregnancy-related health issues could explain why she doesn't have a Dark Mark, when honestly she really should. Her husband, sister, brother-in-law, underage cousin... they're all getting them. So why was Narcissa skipped (but still allowed to remain in good standing?) I think she she stayed out of the spotlight, using her delicate health as an excuse. And then the second war comes around and she... fades to the background again, makes herself useful, and hopes that the issue never comes up. I don't think she'd say no to a confundus, or even a memory charm if she were really put on the spot.
(but the real, Doylist reason Narcissa doesn't have a Dark Mark is because JKR has a very strong aversion to writing villainous mothers. See: the very odd framing of Merope Gaunt.)

Beyond the Fan Theories: Insights from J.K. Rowling’s
I see bizarre fan theories and headcanons about Severus Snape every day that never happened in the books. The problem is, these headcanons are repeated so often that some Harry Potter fans believe them and forget that they are just fan fiction and not the truth. Therefore, I am sharing this old interview with Rowling to remind of some facts.
1. Like many insecure, vulnerable people (such as Wormtail),Snape craved membership in something big and powerful, something impressive: It’s interesting that 17 years have passed since Rowling's response, yet many people still believe Snape joined the Death Eaters because he was a sadistic, racist, antisocial person who wanted to harm people and use dark magic to destroy Muggles and Muggle-borns.!!! However, the writer believes Snape's goal was not to kill and torture Muggle-borns, nor was it racism. He was a poor, insecure, and damaged youth who had never known security or peace in his life. His childhood was a nightmare, and his adolescence was filled with humiliation and bullying. He was seeking acceptance and thought that becoming a Death Eater would give him power, attractiveness, and a family that he never had. However, it is clear that these factors led him to make a big mistake.
2. He never really understood Lily's aversion: Severus Snape didn’t want to harm or retaliate against her. He was simply blinded and misled, so foolish and ignorant that he didn’t realize how deep and serious Lily’s hatred for dark magic and the Death Eaters was. He believed that becoming a Death Eater would make him so powerful and captivating that Lily would be influenced and change her beliefs, convinced that dark magic was extremely attractive, potent, and intriguing.
3. Given his time over again, he would not have become a Death Eater: This sentence shows that he has truly changed. Rowling claims that if Snape had a second chance, he would never join the Death Eaters again. Snape's genuine regret is that, starting at the age of 20, he attempted to make amends for his past actions until the time of his death. He refused to make the same mistake again, unlike Wormtail, who eagerly returned to serve Voldemort when given the opportunity.
4. Like Snape, Harry is flawed and mortal: Do those who see Snape as the story's villain and an unforgivable character understand that, in the author's opinion, Harry is also like Snape? Do they understand that Harry can be flawed and potentially harm others? Harry is never described as a saint. He tortures someone and uses unforgivable curses; he can be arrogant and aggressive while remaining brave and heroic. Snape is flawed and mortal, just like Harry. He makes many mistakes, but in the end, he remains brave and self-sacrificing, and, like Harry, he saves many people's lives.
5. James always suspected Snape harbored deeper feelings for Lily, which was a factor in James' behavior toward Snape: Listen, this is one of the reasons James Potter had for bullying Severus Snape for seven years. Please refrain from saying things like, “Snape was bullied because he joined the Death Eaters” or “because he was interested in dark magic,” as none of these reasons are canonical. These reasons belong to James Potter’s fans, not James Potter himself. The author of the book has clearly explained James Potter’s motives. James Potter just had two reasons for bullying a person for many years:
_He existed (in a way that was ugly and poor). _He was close friends with Lily Evans.
6. It was Voldemort's attempted murder of Kreacher that really turned him: Isn't a change to save a living being's life familiar? I don't understand why Snape's change for Lily's salvation is seen as demonic motivation, whereas Regulus's change for Kreacher is considered epic. Recently, in fan fiction, Regulus has become the little knight of the Black family, whose parents tortured him so much that he is forced to join the Death Eaters and then rebel against Voldemort's ideology to eradicate racism in the wizarding world. But Snape's efforts, sacrifices, loyalty, and spying over the course of 19 years are reduced to being a loser obsessed with a dead woman!!! Such double standards are embarrassing.
I'm curious: If Regulus Black were not Sirius Black's brother and not from a pureblood family, and Voldemort had killed Kreacher while Regulus survived and fought Voldemort, how would fans react to Regulus? How ridiculous would it be to say, "Oh, Regulus Black? He is simply a deviant who was obsessed with his dead elf"?
"Please do not change the characters based on personal preferences and instead see them as written. The writer uses Lily's and Kreacher's salvation as symbols of redemption to demonstrate the characters' growth and maturation. If the concept of love, loyalty, and friendship has changed over time among new generations, this is not the fault of Severus Snape."

Can we talk about the fact that Severus Snape left everyone, both the characters and the readers, like this: 🤡🤡
I mean, no one knew wtf was going on with him. One moment u think he's bad, the next u think he's good. And then u think he's the villain again. But then he gives his memories to Harry and we all realize that he was the fucking hero all along.

In hp1, we think it's Snape who was trying to steal the philosopher's stone, or who tried to knock Harry off his broom. But then comes the end, and we find out that he stopped Harry from falling (saved his life) and was protecting the stone...🤡

We still hated him in hp 2 and 3...
In hp4 Harry suspects that Snape had the Dark Mark, and ends up discovering that he did. There's even the scene that Harry sees: Igor Karkaroff accuses Snape in court in front of the Wizengamot, saying he was a Death Eater, and we're all like😯😃 (finally know the truth!!). But then Dumbledore defends him😐🧍🏻♀️, and no one, not Karkaroff, not Harry, not us readers, understand anything. We don't know whether to trust him or not. So, again...🤡

In hp5 everything is confusing with him. We don't know if he wants to help Harry (occlumency lessons) or not. He calls Voldemort "Dark Lord" (only Death Eaters do), we see his worst memory, which, again, leaves us bewildered and not knowing what the hell to think of him now. Harry himself doubts that his father was a good person, even wondering if James didn't force Lily to marry him, and empathizes with Snape. Then the whole thing with the prophecies, and Harry trying to warn Snape about Sirius and his supposed kidnapping. The Order arrives to save Harry and his friends, which suggests that Snape warned them.
But along comes hp and the Half-Blood Prince, Snape appears to be helping Draco Malfoy with what the Lord entrusted him with —The scene where Bellatrix accuses him, tells him that she doesn't trust him, and then she is surprised:
In the books:
[...]Do you really think that the Dark Lord has not asked me each and every one of those questions? And do you really think that, had I not been able to give satisfactory answers, I would be sitting here talking to you?”
She hesitated. “I know he believes you, but…”
“You think he is mistaken? Or that I have somehow hoodwinked him? Fooled the Dark Lord, the greatest wizard, the most accomplished Legilimens the world has ever seen?”
[...]
“And through all this we are supposed to believe Dumbledore has never suspected you?” asked Bellatrix. “He has no idea of your true allegiance, he trusts you implicitly still?”
“I have played my part well,” said Snape.
In the movies:

The line where he says “Dumbledore is a great wizard”, Snape is actually being smug and subtly saying he’s such a good actor (I mean, come on, the man deserves a fucking Oscar), he’s managed to deceive Voldemort so well that he has revealed his grand plan to him. He practically seems to be laughing at the double meaning of his own words, mocking and lying to the black sister's faces like the fucking boss he is. The way he's literally drinking a glass of wine while laughing at the Dark Lord. The whole scene is just excellent.
So at the end of hp6, Snape reveals to us that he was the half-blood prince for whom the fucking book is named, ends up murdering none other than ALBUS DUMBLEDORE, and we all learn that all this time his true loyalties were with the dark side...🤡

Oh no, wait! Hp7 arrives, Voldemort kills Snape :0 (Yes!), gives his memories to Harry, and Harry sees his memories and... (NOO😦😨😰😭💔💀). We found out he wasn't the bad guy. That, in fact, he was IN LOVE WITH HARRY'S MOM —"always" still hurts :')— That all this time he was our ally...🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

He practically played with all of us, with LORD VOLDEMORT, the Death Eaters, the Order of the Phoenix, Harry... well, WITH EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE WIZARDING WORLD. And he did it as if he were:

Harry fucking Potter named one of his sons after him, which must have made a lot of people roll in their graves (James and Sirius out of anger, Snape out of laughter).
This mf literally woke up one day and said: "okay, here begins my reputation era bitches.😎 Let's leave a few of them looking like🤡🤡"

PD: Sorry if something is written wrong, english is not my language.

Severus's life if there was no voldemort or if he didn't join the death eaters.
I believe Severus would've been working a lot of jobs both or either in the muggle and wizard world to earn as much money as possible
Definitely getting into a potion apprenticeship and learning as much as he could and getting his mastery
I believe he would've become a potion master in the end due to his determination and hard work. (He would never slack once)
His work definitely would've had him travel around outside of London, and he would've gotten to meet other potioneers from other countries and states, learning from them and sharing theories, stories, their projects, discoveries, etc (not just about potions but including spells as well)
I feel like when he earns the money, he will immediately move out of England and live somewhere else in Europe in the country (I'm thinking of Russia, Germany, iceland, or maybe Greece)
When he doesn't make potions or come up with new spells. He writes novels and poetry.
He writes under a pen name (you may decide) so he doesn't get too much attention
His novels would be mystery, fiction, science fiction, historical fiction, dark romance, adventure, tragedy, horror, gothic literature, action, and mystery. The same themes would apply to his poety
He once wrote a novel inspired by his life. He, of course, changed a few things to avoid suspicion, but he definitely made the marauders the villains in his book
He would live in a decent sized cottage in the country away from people but somewhat close to a town.
The cottage would look small on the outside, but thanks to magic, he expanded it on the inside.
He installed his own potions lab, has his very own home library, and a garden (the man has a green thumb, and plus, he needs potion ingredients too)
Severus also has a pet black cat
The Malfoys visit him a lot to keep him company (he acts annoyed, but he enjoys their company)
I think during this time, he would've grown and matured. He wouldn't have forgotten the torment he faced, but he would've learned to leave the past in the past and focus on his future
Severus sometimes visits London, but he mostly goes to London when the Malfoys invite him to one their many parties or when they want him to look after Draco for a bit for some quality time
He also visits London due to Charity and Aurora and their neverending complaints about not seeing him. They also visit him very frequently to make sure he's in good health
I have no doubt that during one of his many visits back to London, he would've encountered Lily and a few of the marauders, but he wouldn't waste time chatting with them. He would just nod and leave immediately (he may have had his process of maturity, but the feelings and haunting memories of the past will never leave him)
Other than his job as a potions master and a writer, her also earned his money by selling his childhood home in Cokeworth shortly after he became a potion master and started earning money and traveling (he wanted absolutely nothing to do with the old house and the horrors it contained, so he left and sold it)
He would've never become a teacher
He owns his own shop named "Prince potions," where he sells potions and potion ingredients. He also makes potions for clients if needed, and he does pretty well for himself.
He has a greenhouse in his garden and becomes very relaxed when in Gardner mode
When severus is in his potions lab, he becomes incredibly invested in his work, that by the time he's done, it's literally the next day.
He does try to devote a moment of his time to writing poetry or his novels. His books are also very popular.
He knows how to cook and bake due to his potion making, but his skills in the kitchen have improved immensely (the man is now a master chef, and you can't tell me otherwise)
Draco loves it at Severus's cottage. He didn't at first, but it grew on him, and it became his home away from home whenever he would spend nights with severus due to his parents
Severus would still dress in black, grey, green, and other dark colors, but he did add color to his wardrobe due to Charity's demand.
Despite having money to afford nice things now, Severus only spends his money on things he really needs in his life. He will never spend his money recklessly unless necessary
His home has many protection spells and charms (he takes precautions just in case)
During his travels, he didn't just invest himself in potions but also spells, magical objects, and curses. (The man studied a lot of stuff)
He still studies the dark arts but only because he wishes to know how to defend himself against them or use it to protect those he loves
He and Lily have reconciled, but they didn't become friends again, but they continued their separate ways.
Severus did still care for Lily, but he didn't want to start over with her and dral with james because Sev started "fitting in society" in Lily's eyes. So he congratulated her on her life, and he left. They didn't talk after that
I'd like to think he met a pack of werewolves where he lived and brew Wolfsbane for them. Mostly to spare the non-werewolves lives from brutal deaths
His cat is his emotional support animal (tell me, I'm wrong)

The tragedy of Severus Snape
The reason why Severus Snape is the most tragic character in the Harry Potter series
Snape‘s character isn‘t so tragic because he didn‘t „get“ Lily.
His character is so tragic because he was doomed from the very beginning.
It‘s so tragic, because he was hit by his drunk father.
It‘s so tragic because he was neglected by his mother.
It‘s tragic because he was separated by his childhood friend by being sorted into a house where you couldn‘t survive as a halfblood if you didn‘t adapt to the social rules of said house and joining a hateful cult.
He is a tragic character because he is bullied from day one and sexually harrassed in front of the other students.
His loss of Lily is so tragic, because she was the only friend he ever had.
It‘s so tragic because she was the only person in his life to show him understanding and kindness, warmth and love.
The love of a friend.
It‘s so tragic because noone ever showed him love again after Lily.
It is so tragic because he is silenced over the werewolf incident and forbidden from telling anyone he was almost murdered.
It‘s so tragic because he has to see his almost murderers and bullies get away with it without any form of punishment.
He is silenced.
It‘s tragic because he has to watch the love of his life marry his childhood tormentor.
It‘s tragic because he has to kill one of the only people he ever cared about. The only person who knows about his true loyalties.
It‘s so tragic because he dies believing the world will always believe him to be the villain.
A traitor and the murderer of Dumbledore.
He dies thinking that the truth about his loyalty will die with him and Harry.
It‘s so tragic because the only other person in his life to show him kindness(, when he stays with him while he dies,)is the son of the love of his life who he lost.
It is so tragic, because he dies in the belief that he has doomed this boy, the boy he always protected.
He dies in the belief that all of it was in vain.
He dies thinking that all of it was for nothing.
He dies believing that he is sending Harry who he tried to protect all these years to his death.
His death is so tragic because of all of the above reasons and also because he is murdered in cold blood.
He is killed slowly. He is terrified. He knows what‘s coming and that he can‘t safe himself.
He is killed by the person he fears the most.
His death must have been unbearably painful and agonizing.
He must have been in so much pain.
It’s so tragic because he never had a chance.
Snapes character is so unbelievably tragic because he was never intended to have a happy ending.
It‘s so tragic because his whole life was nothing but a tragedy.

Cutesy Stargazer idea :)
They start bumping into each other in the library every so often because Lily keeps trying to find new tables to sit at due to the second years getting disruptive and loud. Eventually they end up silently sitting together and one time Regulus ends up delivering her a note from Severus (against his own sense of self-worth) and it gets them talking to each other a little. They start to realise that they have a lot in common and while Lily is reluctant to trust another old-fashioned Slytherin so soon, she decides she doesn't have much to lose. Regulus realises that she's actually extremely intelligent and much more capable than him in most subjects. While he is initially thrown off and resentful that a muggleborn witch is so much better than him, eventually he softens up. He doesn't really have many friends so as long as he doesn't get attached it'll be fine...right?
They realise that they both have the same sense of humour, similar personal issues, and share a lot of the same interests that they'd never considered before. So they begin to talk more while they're in the library and eventually both of them are upgraded to 'smile when I pass them in the corridor' status and continue to get closer still after that. She starts to show up to Slytherin quidditch games 'just to see how it goes' so she can talk to him about it later. He listens to her talking about the muggle world with progressively less disgust and reluctance, eventually developing an interest in it, even if he'd never admit it around family. They both clearly like each other but won't dare to admit it.
One day, Lily is walking to the lake with her friends and she hears her name being called out from the courtyard. Slytherin were about to start practice and Regulus was always the first one down so he was alone, already in his kit, walking to pick up his broom from the shed before he headed to the pitch.
It's only her, the girls, and the marauders in that area, so it wasn't like Regulus was outing their friendship to the entire school, but it was still a shock to the others to see that he of all people had called her Lily; or sounded so gentle when he said it. They all turn around and Regulus is holding her pencil case, something she'd had to explain to him before due to his unfamiliarity with pens, pencils, and the desire to keep them all together.
He jogs over and hands it to her with a smile. Instantly, Sirius sees red and tried to stop her, warning that he probably stole and cursed it as a trap. Mary agrees and tries to step in but Lily steps forward and takes it with a smile. She thanks him and kisses his cheek, making a joking comment about how stressed she would have been in arithmancy without it. Everybody around them is thoroughly confused. They're all waiting for something to happen, for the case to explode or for him to spit on her, but nothing does. He laughs and says 'good thing I was around then isn't it?' with an unnatural level of charisma for someone as pathetic and grovelling as him. Lily thanks him again and wishes him luck for practice and then turns to the group again. Regulus smiles after her softly for a few seconds before eventually leaving.
Sirius has it all figured out of course. He had been terrified of the interaction at first because Lily was clearly threatened by his family's insanity but then Regulus was so receptive to her kissing his cheek and the way they looked at each other was sweeter than marshmallow fluff, and he wasn't stupid. It was a shock, sure, but he clocked what was going on pretty quickly. Not that he approved, he probably still gave Lily a lecture on not trusting evil villains (that she likely ignored) and attempted to lure her away from him to 'keep her safe' but was secretly impressed that she seemed to have softened him up a little; perhaps enough to draw him away from the family for good, only time could tell.
And James is mad because he'd just managed to get in Lily’s good books but now she's very clearly interested in Regulus- the most random person ever in his mind- even if neither of them have noticed it yet. Meaning he can't make a move without looking like a dick (again, the last time he tried to ask her out by the lake was admittedly a fucking disaster so a second embarrassment would not be enjoyable) He probably goes into a strop for a week before coming out of it with an even larger ego than before due to Sirius bigging him up and Peter insisting that he's perfect
Mary and Remus are not fans, they try to warn her but she's heard it all before and doesn't care anymore because she still thinks there's fuck-all to lose and she's actually starting to really love regulus as he climbs further away from his indoctrination
