fuck, y’all will never understand how badly I miss the twins. Like I know Alex doesn’t exist in canon & Seb doesn’t have a twin & if he does, people usually make Severin his twin. Who doesn’t actually exist either in canon, but feels way more real because of all of the thousands of people who head canoned him. & don’t get me wrong I LOVE Severin. But in my head obvs he is the responsible, respectable older brother who despite how much of a mess Sebastian may be, he doesn’t give up on his little brother & I love that for him.

Severin is Sebastian’s rock when he is at rock bottom & I like to think that it is because of Severin that Sebastian gets his act together (at least partially lol) & gets into the army after he gets cleaned from the drugs & eventually ends up to live into adulthood & meet Jim.

But the whole story of Alex & Seb being the bestest of friends and inseparable as twins tend to be. Having Alex be Seb’s first ever source of love, companionship, care & encouragement during the twins formative years & equally losing him in such a traumatic & heart breaking way, still during those formative years, to not only go on to be eaten up by guilt from his own, under developed child minded perspective & blame himself, but also be blamed & hated by his father for it the rest of childhood & see first hand how his mother fell apart because of it. is particularly poetically tragic that it makes me long for the sweet, fleeing moments of innocent childhood happiness the two had for the short years Alex was alive. & sometimes I like to imagine how nice it would have been for seb if his brother had grown up with him & maybe softened the harsh environment Sebastian grew up in, practically alone & abandoned since Severin was sent off to school shortly after the accident, having him being much older than the twins in my head canon.

Personality:

He is an intelligent and resourceful individual, known for his cunning and sharp wit. His wisdom often guides his actions, though his self-assured nature sometimes crosses into arrogance. At times, impatience surfaces, and he is not one to easily forgive, often holding onto grudges with a vengeful resolve. When experiencing moments of great joy, he expresses himself through song, yet a displeased glare serves as a clear warning to those around him. Driven by a deep desire for revenge, his ultimate ambition is to see the Infernal Court expand and thrive under his influence.

Backstory:

The fae lord’s mother was a vampire who had delved deeply into various magics, while his father was a member of the Unseelie Court, notorious for his mischief and cunning. His mother had abandoned her coven and all she had ever known to be with the one she loved—a fae man the rest of the vampires would never approve of. Despite her dark past of feasting upon fae kind, over the last decade, she had begun to feel remorse for her actions. She fell in love with a fae lord, a relationship that defied both their worlds. Through her knowledge of magic and their forbidden love, they conceived a child of mixed blood—both vampire and fae.

They raised their son in a secluded cottage in the woods, surrounded by a mix of vampires and human servants. Isolated from the outside world, the child knew little of his heritage or the danger it posed. The Unseelie Court, unwilling to accept their lord’s happiness with a vampire, descended upon the family. In their rage, they killed his mother, wanting to be accepted by the court again he rejoined, raising his son with a cold and now harsh demeanour, often telling him as he grew that his love with his mother was a mistake as was he. Maelach would spend forever attempting to erase his vampiric half and only feed when given permission, usually on enemies of the court. His education was in all things fae, yet a friend of his mother’s after some time found him and taught him of his other side and that eventually it would fully manifest, making him of both species. 

After finishing his education, he started his life as a lowly courtier in the royal court. Though his status was modest, he spent a great deal of time studying all that he could. He immersed himself in knowledge, learning about any subject he could find, determined to master everything that crossed his path. Eventually, he left for the human world, without the blessing or approval of his kind. There, he found a dark fascination in encouraging humans to succumb to their deepest, most sinister desires, reveling in the downfall of those he tempted. As time passed, his vampire side fully manifested. This forced him to move from place to place to conceal his feeding habits. At this point, he also stopped aging, remaining frozen in time as he navigated his new reality.

Driven by a desire to create a place for those who had been outcast, he decided to form a new court of his own. With much effort, he created his own plane of existence and began to recruit others like him. Among his recruits were the twins, Sebastian and Severin, whom he found and brought into his court. He fell deeply in love with them, and despite any other attractions that came his way, the twins became his everything. However, his court soon faced a grave threat when a group of demons abducted several of his people. Summoned and forced to confront the demon responsible, he was captured and subjected to two weeks of brutal torture with demon-crafted tools. Despite the torment, he managed to escape, taking with him the demon who had caused him the most suffering. This demon was kept as a living trophy, doomed to rot eternally in his realm.

After this harrowing experience, he continued to build his court, but the scars he bore from his ordeal alienated him further. His father and the Unseelie fae, already distant, completely rejected him upon seeing his new disfigurements. Now, with a thirst for vengeance, he seeks to bring both his father and the Unseelie court to ruin.
