[ SOME FEMALE ARTISTS I LOVE ]
-> Shikhee D'iordna AKA Android Lust
youtube
Born in Bangladesh, moved to NYC in 99'. An AMAZING vocalist with tons of range, haunting and surreal music video performances, and not to mention a more than welcome addition to the Industrial Scene of the 90's. Love her.
-> Maria Brink of In This Moment
youtube
Maria, a true showgirl. Knows she's good and flaunts it. The Queen of Fryscreams. Was crowned Rock Goddess of The Year by Loudwire in 2013 and 2015. And dubbed the "Hottest chick in metal!" in 2010 by Yell! magazine. Extremely talented musician. Frequently performs with Chris Motionless of popular metalcore band Motionless in White. She's awesome.
-> Amy Lee lead vocalist of the 2000's Band Evanescence
youtube
This might be one of my favorite music videos yet. The album cover for the band's "Fallen (2003)" has a place on my bedroom wall. Creator of the Iconic "Bring Me To Life (Wake Me Up)" (Yes, *that one*.) Her voice is ethereal. This song portrays her double life as a star. I absolutely LOVED her performance.
-> Otep Shamaya! From self-titled band Otep!
youtube
"Apex Predator - Otep"
(The video above is age-restricted for its violent and sexual imagery/topic.)
It's the first song I heard of hers and also my favorite. Otep is an openly lesbian musician. This song is about a captor falling in love with her victim. The 2013 album "HYDRA" is actually a concept album based on a novel she was working on.
"None Shall Sleep (2013)"
"It's a concept album about a girl corrupted by the world, corrugated by evil, ripped away from the golden, molten elixir of creativity, and abandoned on the placid, jagged rocks of a cruel and barbaric island where the rats poison themselves. This is a story of her personal alchemy of theophagy, revenge and righteousness. Her rise from the smoldering ash as a bruise that never heals transmuting, therianthropic, to the infinite, still-born messiah, a vigilante serial assassin, codename: Hydra." -Otep Shamaya
-> The girls from Conquer Divide
youtube
This ones special. The ENTIRE band is made up of talented female musicians.
In this 2015 hit it's
Kiarely Castillo - Clean Voals
Janel Duarte - Unclean Vocals (with some additional clean vocals)
Kristen Sturgis - Rhythm Guitar
Isabel "Izzy" Johnson - Lead Guitar
Sarah Stonebraker - Bass
Tamara Tadic - Drums
This song opened my eyes (wide shut.. get it?) to a whole new world of female vocalists in the metalcore scene when I first heard it come out and I don't regret it. Up until then I was still sticking with the classics : BMTH, MIW, BVB, PTV, AA, and... notice a pattern here? All boy bands. They revolutionized my playlist.
-> Lindsey Vogt from Eyes Set To Kill
youtube
Lindsey has extraordinary musical chemistry with her bandmate Justin Denson. With her clean vocals and his chilling screams they make nothing short of art. I love their contrasting voices in every song. And "Darling" is no exception. Total banger, super addictive.
-> Alexia Roditis
youtube
Although not usually my style Destroy Boys' lead vocalist really surprised me with this one! Same shock value that Buddy Nielsen from Senses Fail gifted us in 2013 with "Mi Amor". She's Spanish and she sung this beautifully. I once translated this for a friend. I love how her voice draws out and lingers in her songs.

I’m quickly jumping on the Moose train. I am in love with him.
I feel like he’s the type of person who listens to a variety of music. One of those ‘I don’t have a favorite genre’ bitches. His main music playlist on shuffle gives a majority of people whiplash as it goes from 50’s country to numetal to a love ballad to hyperpop in the span of 20 minutes.
However, his workout listening habits are even worse…
Soap, watching Moose deadlift 200kg unfazed: What do you think he listens to while doing that?
Gaz, shrugging: If I had to guess, heavy metal. How else would he get the energy to lift all that?
Soap: Yeah, but have you met the guy? Any type of metal seems too much for him.
Gaz: Well, you could always go and ask…
Soap: …Fine
Soon, Moose finishes the deadlift set and moves on to the locker room. Soap stops him.
Soap: Hey, Moose! Hold on there buddy.
Moose: Sergeant! How can I help you?
Soap: Gotta question to ask you.
Moose: …Ok?
Soap: What are you listening to when you’re lifting all of that?
Moose: …
Soap: It’s gotta be something gnarly, right?
Moose: …
Soap: Right??
Moose: …
Soap: Moose…
Moose: …
Soap: What are you listening to?
Moose: …*takes his phone out of his pocket to show the five and a half hour long YouTube video essay by Quinton Reviews. he’s about 3/4ths of the way done with it*
Soap: …
Moose: It helps me concentrate…
Soap: …
Moose: …
Soap: Have you ever watched that show?
Moose: *slowly shaking his head*
Soap: I don’t know if I should be scared or impressed…
Of course all the Shadows already know about this and will usually recommend more random video essays for Moose to listen to as he works out.
His workout playlist is just movie/show reviews, murder mysteries, podcast type story telling— He’s always taking recommendations from other Shadows. He also likes listening to historical stories and learning about history in general. So, yes, what he listens to while working out is very interesting.

Electrifying Harmonies
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You strummed the strings of your electric guitar, the reverberations echoing through the room as you lost yourself in the thrumming melodies of your favorite numetal track. The music surged through your veins, igniting a fire within you as you poured your heart and soul into each chord.
Suddenly, the door creaked open, and Luke Castellan stepped into the room, drawn by the magnetic pull of the music. His eyes lit up with curiosity as he watched you play, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips.
"Hey," he greeted, leaning against the doorframe. "Didn't know we had a rockstar in the house."
You chuckled, setting your guitar aside. "Hey, Luke. Yeah, music's kind of my thing."
He strolled over to where you were sitting, his gaze lingering on the electric guitar resting against your amp. "I've always been more of a classical guy myself, but I can appreciate a good riff when I hear one."
You grinned, sensing an opportunity. "Wanna give it a try?" you offered, patting the space next to you.
Luke hesitated for a moment before nodding, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes. He settled himself beside you, and you handed him the guitar, showing him a few basic chords to start with.
As he tentatively strummed the strings, you couldn't help but admire the determination etched on his face. Despite his initial hesitation, he quickly found his rhythm, his fingers dancing across the fretboard with growing confidence.
Before long, the two of you were lost in a musical duet, the room filling with the electrifying harmonies of your combined efforts. Luke's classical background added a unique flair to your heavy rock sound, creating a fusion of styles that felt surprisingly natural.
As the final notes faded into silence, you exchanged a satisfied grin, the thrill of collaboration still buzzing in the air around you.
"Thanks for showing me the ropes," Luke said, a newfound spark of excitement in his eyes. "I never knew playing electric guitar could be so... exhilarating."
You chuckled, feeling a sense of camaraderie blooming between you. "Anytime, Luke. Who knows, maybe we'll start a band together someday."
He laughed, the sound infectious. "I'd like that."
And as you sat there together, basking in the afterglow of your impromptu jam session, you couldn't help but feel grateful for the power of music to bring people together, bridging the gap between different worlds with its electrifying allure.

Dirge of Cerberus discussions have appeared on my dash and I must add a description I made for my husband.
Player Character
Vincent Valentine — Crawling in his skin, these wounds, they will not heal.
Cait Sith — During sneaking sections similar to the ones Cait Sith featured in Before Crisis, the player controls Cait as he infiltrates a possible Deepground hideout.
Side Characters
Reeve Tuesti — Biggest autistic nerd on the planet now dresses himself and it’s a disaster. Included his little cat buddy OC in his very serious organization’s logo.
Yuffie Kisanagi — Living her best life, but still hating all the WRO transports.
Shaula Rui — In a setting where plenty of people have working cybernetics, Shaula is blind in one eye that’s sealed shut, has a replacement arm that doesn’t work, limps, and only wears half an outfit. Not that I dislike a visibly-disabled character, it’s just kind of weird her cyber-arm can’t move when she’s a lead scientist in the WRO. Was…Was nobody able to help a girl out?
Shelke “the Transparent” Rui — Lolita bait for the Rei Ayanami fans. Her ass is uncomfortably defined in her game model.
Cid Highwind – WRO leadership, pilot of the Shera (one of many named Shera in the WRO fleet), and unable to save this plot from itself.
Lucrecia Crescent — Incomprehensible in this game. I do not understand her motivations, and she’s so wishy-washy that it’s baffling. Does she like Vincent? Hojo? Was Sephiroth IVF? Did she love Grimoire? Does she believe in the JENOVA program? Is she forced? What is this woman even after? Playing the game or watching the cutscenes really gives nothing concrete. I know others might argue with me that it was clear, there’s even a huge chunk of the fanbase that says Sephiroth is Vincent’s son. I say bullshit, and Dirge was vague on purpose because SE plays to ship discourse.
Grimoire Valentine — One of the worst character designs in the whole series. “Tell my son I love him *gurgle, die*”
Antagonists
Rosso the Crimson — Much femme. So fatale. Wow.
Azul the Cerulean — Blue Meanie
Nero the Sable — The one the kids who grew up on numetal and MCR can’t get over.
Weiss the Immaculate — The other half the incest ship I have blocked on every social media account, and a Seiyan, I guess.
Professor Hojo — Can’t keep a good war criminal down.
This has been a character breakdown for those needing to get up to speed.

i haven't made a headcanon post in yeeeeaaaars but i'm too lazy to try and draw these so....... alternative styles i think the sides would be into
virgil:
- emo. thats fucking obvious. and canon.
- wants 2000s hot topic back so fucking bad
- his entire wardrobe (outside of his like. one canon outfit) is nightmare before christmas & set it off merch
- wants to put his emo quartet phase in the past so badly but he still jumps every time he hears a g note
patton:
- EVERYTHING jfashion. to some extent at least
- especially loves yumekawa & lolita; dabbles in hime gyaru quite a bit
- i know that man wears platform boots. im not letting go of that. giant baby blue sparkly demonias with enough buckles for the entire cast of a kingdom hearts game
- so much cinnamoroll in the yumekawa fits. he is a pubpy he is blue he is silly what do you want
roman:
- i don't know ???? he gives off such heavy prep energy that i cannot imagine him in anything other than like a red & white vineyard vines shirt
- maybe like. something vaguely approaching eboy. (he put on one (1) chain and some eyeliner and called it an eboy outfit)
-maybe patton manages to get him in a tsuyome gyaru outfit once in a blue moon he'd look good as hell in that
- assigned terminal prep at sanders sides headcanon post
logan:
- suuuuper like. 2000s numetal punk. i need that man in a black untucked button-up and baggy jeans with wallet chains on the belt loops immediately.
- he heard "math rock" and took it as an instruction
- i don't know why but i can see him being super obsessive over system of a down and green day. he bonds with virgil over them
- he owns jncos and wears them regularly
janus:
- very very heavy trad goth. almost leaning into victorian/cabaret goth
- i know in my heart of hearts that man is blasting depeche mode 24/7
- i want you to just picture with me for a moment. black poet shirt with yellow ruffles, home-dyed black flared jeans, yellow platform mary janes, big overdramatic black parasol. yellow satin gloves
- can you tell these were drawing ideas before they were a headcanon post
remus:
- SCENE KID. no other option.
- the kind of scene kid who called people slurs in casual conversation on myspace in the 2000's. i'm sorry. he would
- ungodly amount of gir clothes. he just raided the entire gir section at hot topic. i'm imaging this takes place in a world where those are still a thing. i want them back. he's head to toe in that fucking furry robot
- listens to msi (sorry. jimothy piss is also the kind of scene kid who called people slurs on myspace) (i don't support msi. i also do not support remus)

My Symphogear OC Jackie Adagio, wielder of SG-i05 “Leo Nemeas”. In the same vein as like half the cast of the main show she was an orphan picked up by FIS and molded into a soldier to combat the noise when she was found compatible with a relic. Her inner song is NuMetal focused with some melodic rap and screaming.
Still working out her full canon but obviously a divergent universe XDU style where Sakurai created a different set of pendants and the treasury of Babylon was never sealed.
Artwork was created by forgingmeanings whose profile can be found by that handle on tumblr as well as Twitter.
The battlesuit design was based on hoplite armor with the Armed Gear being hard light projectors that can create shields and barriers of varying shape and size.

what i'm listening to 2/5/2023 (song notes under cut)
spot. link//yt link
Laura Les - Haunted: haunted. by laura les.
Radiohead - You And Whose Army?: this is just here as a placeholder to let you know that i'm still listening to amnesiac on repeat, especially since i got the cd. at this point it's become a contender for numero uno on march's album ranking. stay tuned, folks
Carpenters - Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft (The Recognized Anthem Of World Contact Day): #ToddGirlMoment. the carpenters are such a fascinating duo to look at with the heavy amount of retrospect we have access to now, and this is such a strange little blip in their discography. a warm, swelling progressive space rock anthem from the nicest little pair of easy-listening siblings in the world. karen carpenter was truly one of the finest vocalists of the time, and she brought this song to life in such an electrifying way... <3
RAYE - Escapism. (feat. 070 Shake): a few of you may have already seen me raving about this song but like. SERIOUSLY. this is an unbelievably good pop song, full to the brim with hooks. even if i don't relate to the lyrics in any way, i'm just pleasantly in awe of the polish on the thing
Godsmack - Voodoo: links to this post. even their shittiest songs are shitty in a way that pleases my ears
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz): HE WAS KINDA RIGHT is all i'm saying..... like yeah man buy the cheap secondhand clothes and look fresh as hell doing it....... i've had mackle on the brain since i found out he's coming back. i'm all for it, i feel like white rappers are getting a little too comfortable with taking themselves seriously. like jack harlow wants us to believe that he's fucking or whatever. macklemore's gonna set everything straight
Cats Millionaire - Other Twilight: i can't even talk about this song it just makes me cry. that is not a joke i'm literally like a twilight kin or whatever and this song sees me in an uncomfortably real way. anyways
Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida: i was watching the one hit wonderland episode about this band and it just kind of overtook me. that happens a lot. #ToddGirlMoment. anyway this is such a great and boring piece of 60s doomy psychedelia, with an awesome riff and countless minutes of pointless solos. it kind of sucks but it definitely rips
Lil Yachty - the BLACK seminole.: i still don't fully know how to feel about this album. the critical community seems to be rejecting it, saying that it's a shame to see so many rappers try to "escape" their own genre. i think there's truth to that, but i also think this is just such a wild left turn of an album that it doesn't only feel like an escape attempt, and i think it's a little unfair to yachty to treat it as such. there's some decent material on here! and this opening track specifically just has such a great vibe, even if it is derivative
Snot - Snooze Button: this band/vocalist are revered on r/numetal but i've yet to really get into them. upon hearing this song, though, i was sold. nu metal that's properly pissed off about encroachment upon workers' rights? like ya even gotta ask
Maneskin - Gossip (feat. Tom Morello): this album fucking SUCKED and not in a fun way like i usually talk about here. i'm really disappointed in this band, though not so much surprised. anyway this single got stuck in my head, and i really like tom morello's signature guitar tone, so here it is. don't listen to the record
Lil Yachty - Poland: it's just silly innit. here's a draft i was gonna post at one point: "some people will praise the new class of rappers that have 'punk energy' and then get so mad when rap demos that are clearly rough around the edges or even unfinished become big hits. sorry baby seems like maybe you aren't as keen on raw, scrappy punk energy as you thought" <referring to this song and "just wanna rock" by lil uzi
Powerman 5000 - Operate, Annihilate: insert post that just says "powerman 5000." these guys were such a fun band, man. if you ever happen to encounter this album ("Tonight The Stars Revolt") in the real world, pick it up and have a look at the inside. it's styled as like a retro magazine with all kinds of awesome cyberpunk stuff, it's sooo cool. this is one of my favorite album tracks, the whole record is pretty solid
Die Spitz - Grip: screaming furious riot garage punk for puppy girls. love it love it. i wrote a review of this ep on rateyourmusic but i can't figure out how to copy a link so. suffer in ignorance
Chuck Berry - Roll Over Beethoven: did i make a post about this? i don't think i did. but i didn't save the draft either. here's the thing: the beatles covered this on one of their early albums. and it was SHIT. it's such a raucous classic rock banger, written and performed by a legend, and after hearing the terrible cover it makes me appreciate the original that much more
Bailey Zimmerman - Rock and A Hard Place: i'm telling you, listening to all this top 40 is normiefying me. feels kinda good actually. did you know that normies are happy sometimes? like just naturally? it's crazy. anyway i've been enjoying a bit of pop country recently, and you may have also seen me having nice words for newcomer bailey zimmerman. we'll see if it lasts
U2 - Mysterious Ways: nothing to say. catchy song. it's like this band is good sometimes or something.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again - Black: man this album sucked too... but what a rager of an opening track. that weird scream thing he does at the beginning is so stupid, i love it. i'll never listen to this album again
the pillows - Strange Chameleon: as featured in hit yuri manga "hello, melancholic." READ IT. i also think it's really interesting to hear a damn solid britpop record from a japanese band
this isn't strictly music but i've also been watching some old-school mtv programming. felt noteworthy. okay bye

guts x gn!reader
Warnings: oral sex mentions, suggestive content (Minors DNI) Reader is fem leaning (takes shirt off for tighter top and can be "eaten out")
Summary: Modern!AU oneshot based around reikuto's sfw Guts hcs.
AN: i miss the gym so i wanted to write about Guts going to the gym w his s/o
The gym was always a place for Guts to relax, as odd as that sounds. But for a man like Guts, one could believe that. Going through the motions of warming up his body and the familiarity of the burn of lactic acid was an addiction of sorts. His demeanor in the gym was that of bang out the sets and leave, not allowing himself to chat with any of the gym goers. The volume that he lifted did leave him with moments of just sitting and catching his breath, yet his aura about him and his R.B.F made him seem like he couldn’t be bothered for even a spot for the most experienced of lifters.
You can imagine the look of confusion on the regulars’ faces when they see him walk in with a significantly smaller person, dressed in a large shirt with yoga shorts and Converse. You can’t help but feel eyes on you when you go to warm up with Guts in an empty corner. While you do your dynamic stretches with him, you get your gym playlist ready for the session - a mix of metal and early 2000s sounding club bangers, something for Guts and yourself. You knew he didn’t mind your music taste even with how he reacted to you skipping his late 90s numetal for a song about grinding and back-alley sex. You knew he especially didn’t mind when you would do a little dance to accompany it.
You took a last sip of your preworkout and got your earbuds out for you and Guts. Placing an earbud into his large hand as he got out of a lunge, you put yours in your ear and start the playlist. The start of Rihanna’s S&M makes you roll your head to the beat as you and Guts walk to the empty squat rack.
Both of you put a few more plates on each side of the bar after your set, alternating from your working weight to his, which was a significant amount more than yours. As Guts unracks the weight, you watch him squat and nod your head to the music. Your work schedule doesn’t allow for you to go to the gym with your boyfriend very often, so you take any time you find to do so. There’s nothing you enjoy more than seeing your mountain of a man sweat while lifting heavy items and setting them back down. You enjoy working out, too, but the views you get when Guts is with you make it all the more enjoyable.
He reracks with a grunt and undoes the collar to take plates off for your next set, and you copy. You continue this for a few more sets between you two, and you bask in the confusion you see on onlookers faces every time you reset. Like, yeah, that’s your man. Yeah, he’s strong and powerful. Those thighs and triceps aren’t for looks only.
The next few exercises have you looking for your water bottle. Leg day with Guts is torture, but you indulge in public masochism every once in a while. Your toes tap to the heavy sound of SOAD as you drink your precious water, and as Guts approaches you, you lift the bottle to him to offer a sip. He takes it from you with a nod and a thanks. Smiling, you take off your shirt to reveal your tight underlayer because of the lack of ventilation from the shirt. You stuff the shirt in your bag and take back the bottle to also place in the bag. You giggle at a thought that comes into your mind.
“What’s so funny?” he asks, already knowing you’re going to tell him the silliest shit imaginable like you always do.
“Ew, you just drank after me,” you sneer, not meaning it at all. “You just, like, kissed me technically. Gross.”
“I ate you out this morning,” he informs you, unphased and face stoic. “Grow up.”
“Shut up, asshole! We’re in public.” You push his arm hard, but even that’s not enough to make him budge.
“I’ll say worse if you keep stalling abs.”
“Ugh, fine. You’re lucky you’re so hot,” you say while poking him. He lets a small smile show.
The two of you work on core, all the while Doja Cat sings about getting naked. You mouth the words as you do hanging leg lifts. Guts keeps going when your grip fails and you have to jump down. The burn in your hamstrings and abs feels nice but awful at the same time. You’re getting bored of waiting and start to mess with him to get him to quit sooner.
“I know you’re tired. C’mon, your core couldn’t be more engaged right now. You two are practically taking a honeymoon. Ooh, I see your hand slipping there. You gotta listen to your body, babe. It’s telling you to stop.”
“I know what you’re doing.”
“What? I’m doing nothing. Literally. I’m bored.”
He ignores you and keeps at his set, determined to finish all the reps left. As you wait more, an idea pops into your head.
“Hey, babe,” you coo. “If you quit now, I’ll have enough time to make those shumai you like.”
You can see the gears in his head turning before his hands let go and he’s grabbing your hand to pull you to the corner you started at. You laugh and allow him to guide you, just like his stomach guided him to stretch. He seems to rush through the movements, not stretching as deeply as you know he can. Just to be a pain, you complain that Guts isn’t being truthful to the workout, rushing and sabotaging your gains. The next time you see his face is after returning from your downward dog - he has your bag over his shoulder and the next thing you know, he’s got you over his other shoulder. It’s humiliating to be seen like this, but you know you asked for it.
“I’d complain more about this being humiliating, but the view of your ass is too good to complain,” you tell him, smacking one of his cheeks to emphasize how much you like his ass.

Sevendust “SEASONS” 21st Anniversary Tour 9.17.2024
Back in May, the renowned band Sevendust revealed an exciting tour lineup featuring 10 Years, Return To Dust, and Horizon Theory to commemorate the 21st anniversary of Sevendust’s Seasons album. As soon as I caught wind of this announcement, I knew it would be an incredible opportunity to capture some amazing photos at the show. The tour is scheduled for October 8th, so there's plenty of time to catch these talented acts in action. As I made my way to the venue fans of all ages and backgrounds were eagerly making their way inside. Some were proudly sporting their newly purchased merchandise, while others were busy getting their favorite drinks or reuniting with friends. It was clear that everyone was determined to secure the best spot for the upcoming show. It was no surprise that the event was on the verge of being completely sold out.
Horizon Theory is a 4-piece rock band from Mount Pleasant, Michigan. I hadn't heard of them before the show, but after listening to their music, I really enjoyed it. I couldn't find much information about the band, but they were a great opening act for the show. Despite having limited stage space, they brought a lot of energy and rocked out. During their last song, they brought their friend Joe on stage to help them perform "Past Life." Joe even jumped off the stage onto the barricade to sing the song with the fans. Before leaving the stage, Horizon Theory took a selfie with the crowd.
Return To Dust is a 4-piece rock band from Los Angeles, CA. They released their self-titled album "Return To Dust" in May. The band comprises Matty Bielawski, Graham Stanush, Sebastian Gonzalez, and London Hudson. I had never heard of them before coming to this show, and I was surprised to find out that the drummer, London Hudson, is Slash’s son. During their set, they played 6 songs including “Black Road”, “Belly Up”, and “When You Look At Me.” These guys also had an amazing stage presence. As they were leaving the stage some members came over to where all the photographers were hanging out and thanked a couple of them for covering the show. Next time they go on tour, they will be a band I have to see again.
10 Years is a rock band from Knoxville, Tennessee formed in 1999. The band's current lineup includes lead vocalist Jesse Hasek, guitarist Brian Vodinh, rhythm guitarist Matt Wantland, bassist Chad Grennor, and drummer Luke Narey. Over the years, the band has seen several changes in its lineup. They have been quite productive, having released ten studio albums, with their latest one, Descontructed, coming out in 2022. 10 Years has released three singles since Descontructed was released. They re-released “The Optimist” featuring Conquer Divide. When 10 Years took the stage, the energy in the room surged. Singer Jesse Hasek had face paint that looked like it was dripping down his face, adding to his overall look. They played 10 songs during their set, including a cover of “Heart Shaped Box” by Nirvana. When their set was coming to an end, Jesse Hasek looked over to the side stage where friends and other photographers were hanging out and gave us a wave since he saw some familiar faces. Jesse jumped from the stage to the barricade multiple times to sing closer to the fans. I also noticed that one of their guitarists was playing barefoot. 10 Years finished their set with their number 1 song on Spotify called “Wasteland.”
Sevendust was formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1994. Many consider Sevendust as one of the early pioneers of NuMetal. I discovered something interesting about Sevendust. They have been together for 30 years with only 2 member changes. It's rare to see a band tour with the same members for over 30 years. Sevendust has an extensive discography consisting of 14 albums. Their latest album, Truth Killer, was released in 2023, showcasing the band's evolving musical style. The current tour celebrates the 21st anniversary of the release of Seasons, an album that includes 12 tracks. Right before Sevendust hit the stage the whole venue went dark and everyone in the room started screaming as the members stepped out on stage. Sevendust started their set by playing “Disease.” While we were in the pit taking photos of the band out of the corner of my eye I saw drumsticks flying in the air and fans trying to catch them. At one point the drummer Morgan Rose threw a stick up into the balcony and was laughing because the drumstick had just slipped from the fan’s grasp. These guys know how to put on a show, their stage presence is amazing, and you could see on each of their faces how much fun they were having. In between songs singer Lajon Witherspoon was saying how beautiful the city of Rochester is and how much he loves older buildings. The energy from the crowd got even more intense after he said how much he enjoyed their day off in our city. Throughout the night Sevendust played 15 songs, ending their set with 3 encore songs called “Pieces”, “Rumble Fish” & “Bitch.”
As we approach the end of 2024, we want to keep you informed about the exciting shows we'll be covering in the coming months. With only 3 months left, we encourage you to connect with us on our social media platforms by hitting the "Like" and "Follow" buttons. By doing so, you'll gain access to exclusive updates and content as we close out the year with a bang!
