Well reasoned and researched.
However, in the Muppet Christmas special, Letters to Santa, Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Pepe, and Rizzo have canonically gone to the North Pole and met Santa.
Which Muppets do y’all think are Santa deniers? I was gonna ask which muppets you think BELIEVE in Santa, but I’m pretty sure he’s just a real, accepted thing in-universe, so…

Each Dialtown cast member shares their favourite Muppet!
Idea: Characters from the cast of Dialtown are asked to share their favourite characters from The Muppets, in order to get the Muppets fandom on board with DT, which winds up being a largely fruitless ordeal.
Gingi insists that Grover and Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street are Muppets when asked, and takes it badly when Gingi is instead asked to name a character FROM The Muppet Show. The ensuing discussion that follows is much too rancid to be published online, making the time spent trying to calm Gingi down entirely in vain.
Karen's comments are not published as she refuses to do ANYTHING other than vent frustrations about Kermit the Frog, making her comments unusable as they would undoubtedly piss off a large section of the Muppets fandom, who largely venerate Kermit the Frog.
Randy tries to make an argument for Scooter being the 'best one', feeling that he, himself, is the scooter of the Dialtown cast, and thus, must stick up for one of his ilk. This answer is NOT published because the internet would tear him to shreds for playing devil's advocate for the worst Muppet.
Randy is then given another opportunity to pick a favourite Muppet, provided he selects a different Muppet. Randy picks Pepe the Prawn. When asked why Pepe is his favourite, tears well on his screen and he asks if he can leave to get a glass of water. Upon leaving the room, Randy never comes back. The answer isn't included in the article, as it's impossible to discern whether Randy feels that Pepe the Prawn is truly a kindred soul or if he was simply put on the spot and felt pressured to simply name the first Muppet he thought of.
Oliver answers by explaining Gonzo is his favourite but every time he's given an opportunity to explain why, his explanation inevitably transitions into a rambling endorsement of anarchism. Each time, after he's been given an opportunity to explain himself, Oliver is asked to rephrase his answer to be less political and he accepts, apologizing for his mistake and swearing that he understands what the blog is looking for now. Oliver then proceeds to somehow transition back into an endorsement of anarchism until the interviewer gives up and decides to leave him out of the article.
We're not actually sure who Norm likes the best from the Muppets cast because before we could get to Norm, Gingi (irate that Grover/Oscar the Grouch were rejected as its answer) told Norm about Big Bird dying in the Challenger explosion (which happened in DT's timeline), prompting Norm to get really upset and leave before his turn came up. Norm's favourite character is PROBABLY Sam Eagle, but now, we'll never get to know for sure. Thanks, Gingi.
Mingus, when asked, declined to answer out of sheer disinterest. Upon being shown a photo of the extended Muppet cast, she arbitrarily pointed to Robin the Frog and said "That one, I guess." Upon being asked why she would pick Kermit's nephew of all characters, her response was: "It's no business of mine who this frog is related to. Nobody is well-connected enough to ensure they'll live if I deem them a threat to my success." After being reminded that Robin is canonically a child, Mingus retorted by pointing out that Robin is, in fact, a fictional frog puppet. Not sure what to do with this answer, but we certainly can't include it.
Stabby + Shooty are asked for their favourites and they pick Statler and Waldorf respectively. When asked why, they explain it's because they're cool, wear suits, deliver CUTTING jabs, and each hang out with their best bro all day, not unlike themselves. The blog operator remarks: "Oh. I figured it was because, like you guys, they're kinda interchangeable and are pretty much overlooked by everyone", causing Stabby to angrily flip a table and storm out of the room. Shooty apologies meekly for his outburst and leaves to calm his companion down. The answer is not published as the interviewer had no clue which was Stabby and which was Shooty, thus being unable to accurately attribute the answers to either of them.
Bigfoot's favourite character turns out to be Animal, and this is the only answer that ends up being published.
Here's the finished article:
DIALTOWN ARTICLE, EACH OF THE CAST'S FAVOURITE MUPPETS: BIGFOOT'S IS ANIMAL.
The article only gets 3 likes.

Every time I see some idiot proclaim "Jim Henson wouldn't have wanted this" under queer-positive, anti-racist or otherwise anti-bigotry posts by Sesame Street, Muppets or related fan accounts, I gotta laugh.
Like, do y'all know who Jim Henson even WAS?! He was, by the gods, no perfect person, but do y'all honestly think he'd be on your side as you spew hatred against minorities? The man that had a TV series created with the literal goal to teach equality and social systems and that'd help stop wars?!
Actually, let me bring up other Muppet Performers while I am at it, who'd likewise not support y'alls crap: Dave Goelz, famously basing his characters on himself at least in part, playing the very gender-expression-flexible Gonzo and supporting the queercoding of Boober in "The Glow". Bill Baretta, performing Pepe the King Prawn who canonically has described sexuality as fluid. Richard Hunt, who performed Scooter, Mudwell the Mudbunny and many more, a gay puppeteer. Frank Oz, performer of Fozzy Bear, Animal, Bert, Miss Piggy and more, 1st Gen. Immigrant from a Jewish-Catholic mixed family. Kevin Clash, a Black man who made his own career as a puppeteer since he was a teenager. I could go on and on. Aymee Garcia. Peter Linz. Frank Meschkuleit. John Tartaglia.
Your bigotry has no place on Sesame Street, nor with any Muppet media. It never has. From the start, Jim Henson, his fellow creatives, and the people who carry on his work have promoted kindness, education, creativity and equality.
If you think any of them would agree with your bigotry, you have not been paying attention.

Character ask: Rizzo the Rat (The Muppets)
Nobody asked me this. I've just been listening to the soundtrack of The Muppet Christmas Carol and I feel like posting about a Muppet.
Favorite thing about them: His blend of sarcastic wit with "lovable coward" tendencies and the funny slapstick indignities he always goes through. Also, the rare yet touching moments when we see his inner caring and sensitivity. For example, when he cries after "When Love is Gone" in The Muppet Christmas Carol, when he assures Jim Hawkins that he and Gonzo are his family in Muppet Treasure Island, or in Muppets From Space, when he cries as Gonzo is leaving at the end and then tackle-hugs him when he decides to stay after all.
Least favorite thing about them: That he sometimes eats sentient dancing cheeses: e.g. in the Andy Williams episode of The Muppet Show, or in the Michelle Pfeiffer episode of Muppets Tonight. Though for all we know, since they're Muppets, the cheeses survived being eaten: Rizzo himself is eaten by Big Mean Carl in the 2009 Bohemian Rhapsody video, yet shows up again later none the worse for wear.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I like food.
*I can be sarcastic sometimes.
*I'm afraid of heights.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I'm female.
*I don't have a New York accent (though half my relatives do).
*I've never been chased by a cat.
Favorite line:
From The Muppet Christmas Carol:
(when Gonzo picks him up and uses him to clean a window) "Thank you for making me a part of this."
"Hoiti-toity, Mr. Godlike Smarty-Pants!"
"There are two things in this life I hate: heights and jumping from them."
(in response to Gonzo's "Hello, London!" as they're flying) "Goodbye, lunch!"
(when Gonzo accidentally sets his tail on fire) "Light the lamp, not the rat! Light the lamp, not the rat!"
From Muppet Treasure Island:
"If I had a life, I'd hate it."
"He died? And this is supposed to be a kids' movie!"
(after eating a whole roast chicken cooked by Long John Silver) "If you're gonna be the cook on this ship, Mr. Silver, I am definitely gonna need bigger pants!"
"I've gone way beyond afraid. Right now I'm somewhere between bed-wetting and a near-death experience."
"Kill Squire Trelawney and Mr. Bimbo and you'll have to... negotiate strenuously."
From Muppets Tonight, when Garth Brooks sings "If I Were a Rich Man" from Fiddler on the Roof, and someone protests that he had promised to sing a country song:
"Yeah, but he didn't say what country."
brOTP: The other Muppets, especially Gonzo and Pepe. In Sesame Street crossovers, Oscar the Grouch too, since they bunked together in Oscar's trash can in A Muppet Family Christmas.
OTP: Yolanda Rat, when they're "on again."
nOTP: Any human.
Random headcanon: I'm open to the headcanon that @midnightcowboy1969 has sometimes expressed – that he's the reincarnation of the character he's named after, Rico "Ratso" Rizzo from Midnight Cowboy. Especially because he owns an Italian-American restaurant in Rico Rizzo's favorite place, Florida (PizzeRizzo's at Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando). And a past life as a starving street bum would explain his obsession with food!
Unpopular opinion: I like his prominence in '90 and early 2000s Muppet media. I know that old-school Muppet fans tend to complain about how he was pushed to the forefront in that era (along with Gonzo, Clifford, and the new Muppets Tonight characters), while the "classic" Muppet Show characters like Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie et al, were more often relegated to smaller roles. But while I'm glad to see the more "classic" Muppets make a comeback since then, I never thought Rizzo was overused in my '90s childhood. Say what you will about that era of the Muppets, he was one of its highlights.
Song I associate with them: "Rat Scat" from The Muppets Take Manhattan – if I'm not mistaken, the only real solo song he's ever had, even if it is just scatting.

Wish granting time:
We all agree the Muppets would make a near perfect version of The Princess Bride. My question for you is, if you can make or remake anything with the Muppets, what and how would you do it?
I've been thinking about Dracula, mostly because I think Miss Piggy would make a glorious Lucy Westerna. Kermit as Jonathan Harker obviously but the twist here is that Janice is our Mina. The Great Gonzo is our narrator, Bram Stoker, and is joined in this once again by Rizzo the Rat. (Aside: I am very tempted to use Count von Count as Stoker.) Our suitors for Lucy are Sesame Street's Forgetful Jones as Quincy Morris, Pepe the Prawn as Dr. John Seward, and Link Hogthrob as Arthur Holmwood, who is far more interested in Piggy than she is with him (she's after that cash money). The Swedish Chef plays Renfield. Van Helsing is Doctor Bunsen Honeydew, assisted by Beaker. Dracula's brides are Camilla the Chicken, Yolanda the Rat, and Gladys the Cow. All the other major Muppets get memorable walk-on roles.
Our Dracula is the only human actor and is played by Stellan Skarsgard as old Dracula in the opening and Alexander Skarsgard (who will be eager to out-Dracula his brother) as young Dracula in the rest of the film.
It is definitely a musical and there's a huge ensemble number in the insane asylum.
What Muppet production would you like to see? @themuppetmasterencyclopedia ask the people for me, won't you?

Muppet Headcanons
I have so many random, silly Muppet headcanons I need to get out of my system, sooo here we go, bare with me
~Kermit still keeps in touch with the Sesame Street gang ever since he left them. He usually calls Elmo, Grover, or Ernie the most to check up on them and say hi!
~Apart from fish being his favorite animal, Lew Zealand is a big animal lover in general! He has an especially soft spot for all aquatic wildlife, including animals such as turtles and seabirds.
~I don't care what y'all say, Bobo and Uncle Deadly had something with each other in The Muppets (2011).
~Miss Piggy really does have a soft heart, her temper just makes it hard to show. Actually, this better be canon.
~Robin and Rowlf's nephew (from the Jimmy Dean Show) are good friends and love having play dates.
~Big Mean Carl is really emotional, he's just really good at hiding it.
~Fozzie has accidentally set things on fire more than once. Most times have been in the kitchen, he's not exactly the best cook. But it's happened so much somehow, it pretty much seems like he's prone to it.
~Sweetums gets along well with a lot of the tinier Muppets ironically. He's surprisingly really gentle when he needs to be, and is always careful with his smaller friends. Him and Yolanda are besties!
~Walter has more than once weirded out the others by just how much he knows about each of them. (Well that's what happens when your a super fan guys)
~Gonzo has a whole wardrobe that's just dresses.
~This is pretty much canon, but it's agreed Zoot has magical abilities. The guy has probably traveled to other dimensions and not even realized it.
~Also pretty much canon, but Rowlf has a much sassier side to him than he usually let's on. Most people just haven't seen it that often... except for Jimmy Dean. Jimmy Dean saw it plenty of times lol.
~Fozzie is like the resident tickle monster lol. Usually if someone doesn't laugh at his joke, he'll just be a little twerp and tickle them to make them laugh. He'll also just do it to be silly (Kermit has been a victim to his silliness the most lol).
~Kermit knows every first and middle name of all of his siblings. (which keep in mind he canonically has like over a thousand siblings)
~Beauregard knows a lot of cool random facts actually that he'll just randomly throw out there sometimes.
~Another one about Beau, him and Beaker are good friends. (They canonically usually set up stage props together on The Muppet Show)
~Scooter has so many father figures. Kermit, Dr. Teeth, Fozzie, and Rowlf are all his dads lol... and Janice is his one mom figure.
~Pepe and Rizzo have been together at some point.
~Nigel, more well-known as the band conductor from The Muppet Show, and Kermit are actually good old friends. (He was actually meant to be the host for The Muppet Show before the role was switched to Kermit)
~Lips and Dolores (trumpet girl) are really good friends despite him taking up her role as trumpet player. She'll still sometimes pick up her old trumpet and the two will play together for fun.
~I don't know why this isn't canon but. Walter. Autism. Real.
~Skeeter likes to visit the Muppet theatre every so often to visit Scooter. In the few times she's been there, she's developed pretty good relationships with all the others as well.
~Bunsen and Beaker have pretty much been together since they were literally babies (go watch Muppet Babies for proof)
~This isn't really a headcanon but something I've noticed about Miss Piggy. She seems to have a softer spot for a few of the others, and I don't just mean Kermit.
I've noticed that she genuinely baby talks Rowlf a lot, and calls him Rowlfy. She's never actually tried to karate chop him like she has others either. There's been like once she tried to swing at him, from The Muppet Show, and ended up hitting the piano instead. Personally to me, it seemed like she didn't really try with her hit like she has all other times; it was more like she was annoyingly swatting at him because he was aggravating her (which he was btw, he was teasing her). I just think her and Rowlf are good old pals, and I just think that she knows that he's genuinely sweet and doesn't wanna be mean to someone like that.
Same with Beauregard, she's been really nice to him too. She's even given him a motivational speech before from The Muppet Show (in that same episode, he hugged her and said she was his only friend and I sobbed so mentally hard over that). I think Miss Piggy just knows who generally good folks are and in turn shows her soft side to them.
Okay I've poured out all I can, for now! Here's some silly doodles of some of the headcanons!
#I was so afraid to post these but I HAD to get them out of my system lol#Okayy fun part tagging these guys#Ahem#Kermit the frog#Lew Zealand#Fozzie Bear#Scooter#Skeeter#Walter#Pepe the King Prawn#Rizzo the Rat#Big Mean Carl#Rowlf the Dog#Bobo the Bear#Uncle Deadly#Beauregard#Zoot#Dr. Teeth#Janice#The Electric Mayhem#Miss Piggy#Sweetums#Yolanda#Lips#Dolores Trumpet Girl#Bunsen#Beaker#The Muppets#Can y'all tell I was typing who ever I remembered first lol#Man look at Fozzie slowly destroying Rowlf's dignity there lmao

Something I did recently was watch almost all the major Muppet TV series, movies and specials, starting from The Muppet Show and all the way up to the NBC era, ending with The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz, right before Disney purchased them.
So basically I finally watched every episode of The Muppet Show, The Muppets Go to the Movies (which is essentially a lost episode of The Muppet Show), The Fantastic Miss Piggy Show, the first three seasons of Muppet Babies, Little Muppet Monsters, The Jim Henson Hour, The Muppets at Walt Disney World, Muppets Tonight, Kermit's Swamp Years, and a bunch of other things.
The reason I did this is that I was actually woefully deprived of all things Muppets when I was a kid and for most of my teenage years (although I watched Sesame Street regularly when I was little).
I had the Vincent Price and Alice Cooper episodes, Muppet Classic Theater, Muppet Treasure Island, and Muppets from Space on VHS, but that was pretty much it. I’m embarrassed to admit that I didn’t actually watch any other episodes of The Muppet Show when I was a kid. I’m sure I would have if I had been aware that it was airing on Nickelodeon at the time.
(Instead I read The Muppet Show Book before I watched the episodes they were based on. Bizarre, I know.)
So I had these brief glimpses and vague impressions of the characters and the timeline, but I really wanted to know what I had been missing this whole time.
Something that was particularly interesting was how many nearly forgotten TV specials they did in the ‘80s, in between making movies. It seems to me this is the most overlooked period of the Muppet timeline, despite how iconic the movies are.
The main revelation was there were various characters that were either less or more important than I thought they were:
First of all, Rizzo (one of my favorite characters) wasn’t all that much of a main character during Jim Henson’s lifetime. He was a minor character in the last two seasons of The Muppet Show, stole a scene in Muppets Take Manhattan, but he really didn’t become a main character until The Muppet Christmas Carol, when his chemistry with Gonzo first became apparent, lasting throughout the rest of the decade.
Their relationship is something I really miss, ever since Steve Whitmire left. They seem to be trying to force Pepe into the same role, and it just doesn’t work.
I wasn’t aware that Bean Bunny first debuted in The Tale of the Bunny Picnic. Based on his fairly prominent role in Muppet Vision 3D, I thought he was used way more often.
I also got the impression that Waldo C. Graphic made his debut in Muppet Vision 3D. It’s weird to me that he’s a lot less wacky and toony in The Jim Henson Hour.
As I’ve said before in other blogs, I wasn’t aware that Pepe debuted in Muppets Tonight and Clifford debuted in The Jim Henson Hour. Very few new characters survived those shows, and it always puzzled me that they were the ones that were ever used again. One day I was watching Muppets from Space and I thought “Who the heck are these characters?” and went on to be even more confused when Pepe refused to go away.
All in all, it’s nice to finally have the whole picture.

30’s au
Superhero au
A sesame street POTO au except instead of an opera house, it’s a playhouse built by either Bert and Ernie or Telly and Baby Bear. Instead of a story about love, it’s a story about friendship.
Abby Cadabby is Christine, Elmo is Raul, and the phantom is either Cookie Monster or Oscar. With Cookie, his lair is filled with cookies (even his boat is made of cookies!) and instead of water, it’s milk. With Oscar, trash. Everything is trash.
Like the title says, these aren’t ALL mine (only the ones bolded are). Those are either from my friends on discord or what I’ve seen on tumblr. But they’re all super fun to think about
Side note: I think the villain and demon au’s are more of a general au thing where everyone can pitch in and make their own versions of the muppets in those au’s, which is why I didn’t bold them even though I love thinking about them
#and may i just say these other au’s are GENIUS#also feel free to ask me about my au’s cuz i wanna talk about them#muppet au’s#the muppets

🍀🍩🌺❤️ for Anastasia or Caleb cuz I love both of them to bits
🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
Anastasia: @/meldoesthedraw did a post with a what if muppets babies design for Teeth which mentioned how she liked the hc of Teeth being raised by his Grandma. I thought the idea was cute and, since it was already a popular headcannon Teeth grew up in New Orleans before Muppets Mayhem confirmed in, I decided to make his Grammy a witch of the bayou
Caleb: Not a lot tbh, I just thought it would be cute imagining Floyd and Janice as a couple with a kid. Anyone who's been following me and my art before I joined the Muppets Fandom knows I LOVE to make next gen designs
🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
Anastasia: She doesn't really have one, though in the beginning she joked that Nemis was her arch rival. Hence her nickname, Nemis, shortened from nemesis. She doesn't really have any enemies
Caleb: You have to be one determined person to get on his bad side cuz Caleb is as oblivious as a cloud. He doesn't hate people easily, tho he can sometimes get a teenie tiny bit annoyed with Pepe and Rizzo
🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?
Anastasia: I posted some doodles a while back inspired by the idea of Anastasia eventually moving to Sesame Street. Idk if this will become cannon as it'd take a lot for Anastasia to part from her bayou, but if she did move to Sesame Street, me and my discord buddy chatted about the idea of her and Carol (Big Birds Granny, I gave her the name) eventually moving in together and becoming that one old couple who bakes too much and gives the cookies to the local kids. Anastasia and Carol are old childhood friends so it's not out of the realm of possibility that Anne has some affection feelings towards her
Caleb: So far no, he has no crushes
❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
Answered in the ask before this one!

i kinda wanna see u do lips for the character thing, especially since u already did most of the other electric mayhem members
@princesssarisa @softlytowardthesun @fragglesesamemuppetz2 @moonbeamelf @mx-piggy @angelixgutz
Favorite Thing About Them: His design is very wholesome, giving the vibes of a grown up Little Jerry from Sesame Street, and the character's history of being created as a gift for Steve Whitmire to be included as a performer in The Electric Mayhem is pretty sweet.
Least Favorite Thing About Them: That fourty years have passed and the writers and performers are still searching for a well defined personality for the character that is not a copy of Zoot.
Three Things I Have In Common With Them:
* I wear batas and dashikis;
* I can be socially clueless;
* My hair is thick;
Three Things I Don’t Have in Common With Them:
* I'm not yellow;
* I don't play the saxophone;
* I'm not blonde;
Favorite Line: His first full line in over thirty years in the 2015 ABC series the muppets., "Hostile Makeover", declaring:
"And we love us some gas station sushi!"
brOTP: Scooter, Skeeter, Annie Sue Pig, Dolores (Trumpet Girl) Rowlf the Dog, Dr. Teeth, Floyd Pepper, Janice, Animal, Clifford, Johnny Fiama, Sal Minella, Pepe the Prawn King, Seymour the Elephant.
OTP: Scooter, Zoot, Dolores (Trumpet Girl).
nOTP: Animal, Janice.
Random Headcanon: I saw some fan arts on Tumblr portraying Lips and Janice as siblings, and I think that is a very neat idea.
Unpopular Opinion: It would be nice that the character was portrayed with a soft, almost feminine voice, rather than a raspy one.
Now that Steve Whitmire is not working with the Muppets anymore, Lips could be a great oportunoty for a lady muppeteer to show her versatility in performing a male character for the upcoming Muppets Electric Mayhem spin-off series.
If Janice and Miss Piggy can be performed by man, why can't a lady perform Lips?
