i don’t know if anyone watched hollyoaks back in the day. as in back in 2006-2008 when john paul and craig had the most tumultuous incredible painful best friends to lovers relationship a soap had ever seen, quite frankly. but anyway, long story short. craig left for a while to figure his shit out, and in that time, john paul got a new boyfriend (kieron, a priest, long story). and well, most people didn't like him very much because you know. john paul and craig were it, the endgame of all endgames. a deep and often deranged love that simply did not compare to anything else. people joked about the priest dying (my best pal wrote a poem about it) but no one was invested in the idea, it really wasn't that serious. it's fiction, you know? a soap. a bit like a procedural drama. you know what i'm saying? anyway. the truly funny thing about all of this was the priest actually literally DID DIE (poisoned by john paul's long lost brother, another long story) and john paul got over it in like three days and he and craig got their sunset ending (literally left hollyoaks together, there was a billboard with a sunset on it in the background) that the fans had been campaigning for for a year. and that was that (rip kieron or whatever, he was literally just there to like, cause some angsty drama and die lmao). BECAUSE well, because they made more SENSE, they were it, unparalleled. (they didn't actually stay together BUT that was only because one of the actors wanted to return and the other didn't so alas. the INTENTION was that they were endgame). tl;dr it's not that serious, truly not even remotely. pretty sure they're not actually going to off tommy—i like to think tim's not at hollyoaks levels of soap drama, but hey—and none of us are actually invested in them doing so. be for real.
