A mini Voldemort Wins 1st War AU Fic based on this BTS image where the off-screen clothes are more like wizarding robes than the on-screen Muggle clothes

Two hooded figures walked across the grassy cliff. It was a windy day. They wore dark cloaks, their hoods covering their heads. The cloaks protected them from the lashing wind.

They were two fourteen-year-old boys, alone.

Harry felt the wind hit his face and glasses full force. He felt his fingers becoming colder and colder the longer he kept them out of his pockets, and he was starting to feel his cheeks growing number with every lash of the wind.

“He always gives you really interesting tasks, Harry.” murmured Ron beside him as they trekked over the hilltop. In the distance, Harry could hear the North Sea hitting the shore. “I've never seen a sea serpent.”

Harry felt his gut clench. The moment he had come back to Spinners End where he lived with Snape, he saw the Dark Lord in his dining room, talking with his follower.

The moment the Dark Lord's red eyes settled on Harry, his serpentine face had lit up, and Harry felt a shiver shuddering down his spine.

It took less than ten minutes for Harry to dress into his proper robes with another task at hand.

Tame a sea serpent.

“Only one, Harry.” Voldemort had said, reaching his fingers to pat his head. Harry had stayed still and silent, and nodded, no matter how nervous he was. “I don't want you to get eaten, dear boy.”

This was a big task. Harry would probably be promoted to 1st Grade follower if he managed to achieve it.

First, he'd met up with Ron, got into Grimmauld to pick up all the books on sea serpents, took a detour to the Muggle-born Institution and spent the next three hours in the library with Hermione and Ron, studying the large sea creatures.

“Think a basilisk, but water.” Ron had said, which was no help at all. Harry still remembered how Voldemort had to intervene with the basilisk in Harry's second year. Still remembered that look on the Dark Lord's face. Not disappointment, but something like pity.

“I suppose you are too young yet," he'd said to Harry before leaving. It was the worst day of Harry's life. He'd fought not to cry.

He would do it. Sea serpents were easier to command than a basilisk. They weren't as stubborn, either. However, they were free spirits. They didn't like to be mounted, only tolerated parselmouths.

Harry was supposed to tame one.

He had his work cut out for him.

Face set in determination, Harry set off down the grassy hillside toward the beach, Ron beside him.

I have a feeling the writers probably weren't even too sure, so they left it as vague as possible in hopes that people wouldn't care at ALL.

Everyone always talks about Morro=Tai Lung, and that's great and all, but might I add:

Time Twins=Lord Shen

Both were part of an ingroup of powerful people who rejected them because of their lust for power, know important information about our central characters' parentage which throws them off their game, is the reason said parents have been missing for years, proceeds to lie to the protagonist about it, sends their goons out to collect massive amounts of metal from the populous for a mysterious unstoppable weapon they're building. You know.

Ninjago Season 7 in a Boat Sized Nutshell - So I heard that people have a hard time remembering this season so I wrote this:

(I mainly studied it to do a rewrite, post DotD AU)

TLDR; Twin Masters of Time, lost the battle to take over Ninjago in the past so, in the present, they work to go back in time so they can win the past battle with their new Snake Samurai army - also the Elder Twin is the reason why Kai and Nya were orphans.

For the long version; buckle up:

It starts the day after the Day of the Departed.

Cole is human, has new lava themed super strength/punches with the power of the staff of quakes and he has a cool ghost green scar (that is never talked about outside of a could-be-canon book: Way of the Departed; which takes place after S7 and before S8).

(TLDR about the scar; it's supposed to be a door to the Departed Realm that slowly gets bigger with exposure to yin/dark energy which means it's slowly splitting Cole's head open, and yes it is painful - this was considered too dark for the show - but they still gave us the Oni Trilogy)

The Ninja are at work cleaning up the museum after the events of the fight (the museum mess is mainly Dareth's fault though)

The Ninja have also decided to move into Sensei Yang's (no longer cursed) floating temple. Because of this Misako, Ronin, and Dareth are helping with moving day (but Dareth is just supervising because apparently he got a bad back after the events of DotD so Ronin and Misako are doing all the work).

Wu, meanwhile, is at the ruins of the original Monastery, waiting.

Back at the Museum, Cole is having trouble controlling his powers and Kai and Nya find a painting of their parents that was done a short while before they disappeared. (This is also where we find out that Nya was three when Ray and Maya disappeared).

(IDK where it was said but apparently Kai is two year older then Nya which means he was five when he became the man of the house - as someone whose parents grew up in Third World environments, a five year old with this type of responsibility is considered normal and acceptable especially when the kid is the eldest child who is expected to be the third parent).

The Ninja find a different painting of an Battle that took place almost directly after the events of the Serpentine War.

The painting shows Wu and Garmadon fighting the Hands of Time (Twin Elemental Masters of Time).

Back with Wu, the younger Twin, Acronix, has arrived in the present at the Monastery, exactly forty years after the Battle in the painting.

The Time Twins don't actually have their powers as their powers were put into four Time Blades made of chronosteel; the blade that speeds up time shows up in the present and this causes time to skip forward a few minutes.

Acronix beats up Wu and uses the blade to starts aging him forward, the Ninja arrive and Acronix escapes to meet up with the museum director who is in disguise and is actually Krux the older Twin brother who is now forty years older.

Krux grew with the times and hates technology (not like Kai, Kai accepts tech, Krux wants to destroy all tech)

Acronix is new to the present age and thinks that technology is the best thing to ever happen.

After the fight at the Monastery, the Ninja think that they won but then a Snake Samurai starts attacking the new Borg store.

The Ninja fight, Borg gets kidnapped and Zane is down for the count AGAIN.

Kai goes to the museum to get information on the Snake Samurai helmet that he was able to take (and we get a flashback of when Kai(2) met Nya the day she was brought home).

Nya tries to fix Zane (and find out what attacked him - and finds out that is was the Hands of Time but only finds out after Kai gets to the museum).

The Snake Samurai start kidnapping builders and when trying to stop them, Cole punches Jay into the trash (as in into the bin and close the lid)

Kai fights Krux and they are evenly matched (the only ones who are also evenly matched with the twins are Garmadon and Wu).

Krux tells Kai that Ray and Maya were traitors that worked for the Hands of Time. Kai gets angry, Acronix shows up to the fight, they beat up Kai, Nya shows up, Kai gets his second wind, they beat up the twins but Acronix is able to escape with his brother (and Cyrus who they kidnapped), by using the fast forward Time Blade.

With Wu out of commission, Lloyd takes over as temporary master in training (yes, they say it like that).

Nya keeps trying to fix Zane and Pixal is annoyed by her lack of skill.

The Snake Samurai start stealing metal this includes Zane, but Pixal uses his systems to electrocute the snakes, Nya's Samurai suit is stolen and then Pixal appears to go offline.

The Ninja try to stop the Snake Samurai from stealing metal, Ronin and Dareth try to help and Dareth ends up breaking Ronin's leg.

(The Snake Samurai stole Dareth's fake trophies - which he apparently buys from Ronin)

The slow down Time Blade arrives and the snakes kidnap Edna, thinking that she is a builder.

Jay saves Edna and the Ninja get the Time Blade from the snakes and bring it back to Yang's Temple.

(Zane, Jay and Cole decided to play with the slow down Time Blade. During this Cole accidentally cuts up Jay's stuffie, Mr. Cuddlywump)

The Twins, with their Snake Samurai army, attack the temple, break the Destiny's Bounty, and Lloyd almost dies but is saved by Samurai X 2.0 - a.k.a. Ninjago Queen Pixal Borg.

The Time Twin's Top General (the only Lady General) beats up the Ninja, takes the Time Blade, and kidnaps Wu.

The Ninja split up to cover more ground.

Lloyd, Zane, Jay and Cole go to the museum to see if Krux hid anything there.

Nya and Kai stay behind to try and fix the Bounty but they can't so they so they split up for their own personal missions.

Nya goes to her Samurai X cave to find out who is the new Samurai X.

Kai goes to get advice about evil parents from Skylor.

Lloyd's group finds a hidden passage into the sewers where they find Scales who tells them about the Snake Samurai and where to find them - they're in a swamp (Snake Samurai are called Vermillion Warriors and are the first generation progeny of the Great Devourer with the same instincts to consume everything - this is never explored)

Nya fights the new Samurai X (who is using everyone's voice except Pixal's), after which, she accepts the new Samurai X but she thinks it's Skylor.

Nya goes to Chen's restaurant, where Kai is talking with Skylor and Nya finds out that Skylor isn't Samurai X.

Kai tells Nya that their parents are alive and working for the Hands of Time.

The Jiang Smith Siblings are depressed.

Skylor comes back with two bowls of her favorite noodle recipe (the type that always cheered her up) so as to cheer up the Jiang Smith Siblings and she gives them good advice.

Nya agrees with Skylor's advice while also giving Skylor a back handed compliment (while pointing and waving her chopsticks in Skylor's face - like girl, rude, very rude).

Then the siblings get a call from Lloyd's group about where the Time Twins's hideout is.

The Siblings go to the Swamp to find their parents.

Lloyd goes to find Wu.

(Wu has been having nightmares about being alone, and about having failed Misako, Garmadon and Morro)

Zane, Jay, and Cole go to free the kidnapped people.

Kai tries to kills his dad before his mother stops him.

Kai and Nya get an explanation - Ray and Maya made the Time Blades that Garmadon and Wu used to take away and hold the powers of the Time Twins so Krux kidnapped them to work for him, as revenge.

(We also get a flash back that shows us Kai(5) and Nya(3) playing as their parents get kidnapped in the background)

The pause Time Blade shows up and is taken by the Time Twins then they go to the forge in the swamp where Krux was forcing Ray and Maya to make armor for the Vermillion Warriors.

In exchange for Wu and the cure for Wu, Kai and Nya are forced to retrieve the Reversal time blade from the Boiling Sea (a sea which is always on fire) and use a special dragon blade that is able to combine the Elemental Powers of Fire and Water to make the Fusion dragon so the siblings can travel into the Boiling Sea.

The siblings get the blade, then the Twins fast forward Ray, take the blade and escape back to the swamp where they were forcing Cyrus Borg to make a Time Machine Snake Mech.

Kai and Nya make the Fusion Dragon to get them all back to the swamp.

They all fight and Samurai X 2.0 shows up to protect Cyrus.

The Twins go back in time with their three generals and snake army, then Kai and Nya stowaway on the time machine with Wu.

The Twins show up in the past - seconds after their past selves dissappeared into a time rift - and attack the Elemental Masters and the Spinjitzu Brothers with their Snake Samurai army.

(We get to see Jay's Birth mother - Jay's rambling tendencies is both Nurture and Nature)

Change the past, change the future.

Kai and Nya pretend to be Ray and Maya so they can help out the Elemental Masters.

The Masters are winning so the Twin pull apart all the Snake Samurai including their Generals, so they can have them power/monuver the time machine to be an attack Mech - with the Mech, they get past Wu to surrender.

In the present all tech disappears, Ninjago City reverts to a pre-modern style, Samurai X 2.0 disappears, but no one notices because Zane has returned to how he looked when he lived in his father's tree.

(Side Note: Zane looks human again instead of just disappearing like Pixal - que the Zane is a reverse Pinocchio / use to be human theories)

Back in the past; Kai and Nya form the Fusion Dragon again to attack the mech, then Nya gets an idea and jumps off the dragon.

The water half of the Dragon starts to dissappear without Nya but Kai begs it to stay and the water dragon stays for Kai.

Kai attacks the Mech but eventually the twins decide to retreat by traveling to a different time; Kai tries to stop them but they dodge his attack and, in Kai's panic, the fuison dragon disappears while the twins time travel again.

Nya and Wu (who is cured) meet up with Kai; Wu had told the Ninja that, in the past, not long after the Twins had disappeared in the time rift, the Reversal Blade had been found by the Elemental Masters and Hidden by Ray and Maya in the Boiling Sea - so Nya went to find the Reversal Blade to cure Wu.

They then use the Reversal Blade to give themselves a second chance against the Twins.

Kai, back on the Fusion Dragon, picks up Nya and Wu - Wu gives his past self the Reversal Blade to hide and tells him and the past masters to drink obscuri-tea from Mistaké - then Kai, Nya, and old Wu sneak back onto the time Mech and it enters a time vortex.

Kai, Nya and Wu fight the Twins and Wu sacrifices himself to make sure Kai and Nya return to their proper time with the Reversal Blade to save Ray.

In the present, everything is back to normal, Zane is back to being a Nindroid and Samurai X 2.0 is back.

Kai and Nya use the Reversal Blade to save their father. Lloyd is now the leader and the search is on to find Wu.

AU where everything's the same except instead of Lloyd being a kid who got aged up, he's a senile old man who gets aged down

Lloyd: I do not want toys, I desire my nightcap but the ninja are partypoopers. They also refuse to allow myself to run my needed errands.

Garmadon: Errands?

Lloyd: Poker, Mahjong, Shogi, and Koi Koi clubs. I refuse to give up my winning streak to that dick Musashi. Also as club head, I’m in charge of bringing the booze and we all want one specific booze. Something so dark, so evilly aged, I speak of course of triple aged condense evil whiskey.

Garmadon: Aren’t you as a group too young for such a thing? It’s normally only drunk by skulkin and Oni.

Lloyd: That’s why we want and like it. I’m referring to the seniors at my former jail. Besides it’s a challenge and rule that whoever falls asleep first after having the whiskey has to pay for next week’s bottle.

Garmadon and him bond over their shared love for that same brand of whiskey from the shady corner store

Garmadon unwise to the ways of parenting and feeling very guilty over Lloyd’s previous living situation is easily guilt tripped into getting Lloyd and the whiskey.

Lloyd drags Garmadon with him to his various board game clubs back at the senior center

So imagine Garmadon’s shock seeing some of his old serpentine war buddies who don’t give a crap about his appearance and still want to see if he still sucks at Shogi

His buddies also reveal how much the nursing home sucks and ask if he’s hiring

Garmadon based gigachad he is kidnaps his war buddies and what spouses maybe in the nursing home has them join his horrifying legion of the damned

does anyone else like,,, not remember ninjago season 7. like i swear i watch that season and immediately forget everything that happens in it. i cannot tell you a single thing that happens in that season. i could not explain the plot line if you held a gun to my head. i have seen it at least 3 times. why does this happen.

(Is a nindroid, nobody expect Dr. Julien and Ice EM know. Also Zane when he has his memories)

Raised by Dr. Julien and the Ice EM

Got his memories erased when they died (they’re in the lighthouse currently, both)

Was taken in by the serpentine when they found him memoryless wandering the forest

He know about his two dad’s the amount the serpentine know about them

While living with the serpentine he sometimes got the urge to help people and and animals, so he started working with the village healers

Along time he learned to treat wounds and other injuries

He even helped with some egg layings and with keeping them warm by helping the mother with brooding

He went from village to village with soldier convoys, then stayed there for sometime, sometimes he even ended up traveling with a general

This was because the villages didn’t have the best resources for humans so they kept him moving around so places could restock, and he would be okay to stay there

After staying with the serpentine for 9 years they decided to let him travel alone on his own from town to town

The first time he did he met the other five (ninja), and techinacally got kidnapped

He ends up traveling with them to the Cave’s of Despair, but the way is super long, like 6 months

Along the time he gets the ninja to warm up to the serpentine but it takes very long (a lost serpentine egg helped with that, they got it back to the parents, who were a pair of traveling merchants)

He somehow only learns about the war at the end of the journey

Oooo the Underground AU sounds so interesting tell us more (if you want ^^)

Yes yes yes yes!!

So the basis if the au is that the humans lost the Serpentine war. And they are all exiled underground as the Serpentine go to live on the surface.

There are three major cities underground. The smallest is the one closest to the surface, the biggest city is beneath that. And there's one more city as deep as they can be. Where there is little to no light besides a few crevices in the ceiling that sunlight peaks through.

In the deepest city is where the children of the elemental masters live. None of them have powers and they are all kept in the deepest city as far away as possible fr9m the surface. Everyone assumes that the elemental master are dead and there is resentment towards these children, they're the scape goats of the city.

Cole was born a few months before the exile and never knew his mom as he was raised by his dad. Zane in a similar boat. He was the adopted son of the ice master but for only a few years before the exile. He's the oldest.

Now Ray, Maya, and Libber were able to slip away with the other people during the exile and stay in hiding for a few years. Jat was born about 5 years after the exile the same with Nya. And Kai was born about a year after ward.

But the Serpentine found Libber a few years after she had Jay and unfortunately he was orphaned (ed and edna step in though to raise him)

And Myaa and Ray where found out a few years later. Now when Libber was found she didn't go away quietly, making a big ruckus and identifying her to who she was. But Ray and Maya went peacefully, knowing they wouldn't win. They hid their powers in a pair of amulets to keep their powers away from the Serpentine and then when the gaurds came for them they went with them, leaving Kai and Nya with trusted friends to raise them. Kai was about 7 and Nya 3.

Kai knows about the powers but Nya does not and he never tells her. Kai grows up and runs a small bakery, cole works in the farms, Jay and Zane gather glow worms and special herbs and plants, and Nya helps with making tools and invents machines to help make life easier for the people.

Ok so everything is not set in stone. I want Nya to not know about powers but idk if the explanation I have is the best. But I want her to find the amulets and then she can try to convince the others to try and fight back.

Also some Serpentines have been able to harness elemental powers form the master such as constricti generals harnessing earth powers, and hypnobri channeling ice, and stuff like that.

Ninjago AU where Pythor didn't kill and eat his mother and instead was somehow was able to sustain both of them when Lloyd opened the Anacondrai Tomb.

Pythor had inherited his mother's long neck and eye color, which had led to him getting called a "Mama's Boy" by bullies; luckily his mom was there to defend her son when the bullies came round, resulting in Pythor being very close with his mom. Now, Pythor and his mother have a disconnect over what to do next: After giving Lloyd back to the Ninja for the child's safety, they both agree that they should release the rest of the Serpentine tribes, but Pythor wants to release and control the Devourer to destroy Ninjago City; his mother meanwhile wants to move on from the past and educate the humans about the Serpentine's perspective of the Serpentine War. Unfortunately for her, despite her winning a Slither Pit against the other Serpentine generals and becoming Queen of the Serpentine, the Serpentine are following Pythor's plan to release the Devourer.

After the Devourer was released and destroyed by Garmadon, Pythor's mother was devastated by the supposed loss of her (probably only) son, as she blames the Serpentine and the generals for feeding her son's megalomania that led to his untimely demise. Luckily, Pythor survived getting eaten by the Devourer, albeit he's now bleached white; he manages to regroup with the Serpentine just as they were getting sealed in the Stone Army Vault. The two Anacondrai make amends, with Pythor promising not to go on the path of revenge and villainy ever again, not wanting to cause his mother tremendous heartbreak.

As the Serpentine and its generals finally begin to listen to the Queen of the Serpentine, she begins transitioning Serpentine society to a more peaceful stance. She also helps her son with both his depression and megalomania, assisting with his desire to finally let go of all the angry and frustration he's been bottling up from the four decades they spent in the Anacondrai Tomb. By the time that Ninjago is rebuilt, Pythor apologizes to the Ninja - Lloyd especially - for his and the Serpentine's actions following their release.

Since Pythor didn't take the Overlord's deal to help him, the Anacondrai is both at his normal height and not in prison when he and his mother are kidnapped by Chen and his Cultists. Initially both of them refuse to help him, especially after they find out that Chen and Clouse were responsible for causing the Serpentine War. Eventually Pythor's mother gave in after Chen put a knife to her son's throat, threatening to end his life unless she helps the Cultists permanently become fake Anacondrai. Fortunately the two real Anacondrai escape the Cultists and help the Elemental Alliance defeat Chen once and for all.

After Chen and the Cultists have been sent to the Cursed Realm, Pythor and hos mother have a brief, intimate moment with Arcturus - Pythor's father, after which the spirits of the Anacondrai generals head off to the Departed Realm. From there, Pythor takes on cooking and baking with the help of his mother; a dream of his that he always wanted when he was little.

Some more stuff abt the ninja in the crime au!

none of them know about their elemental abilities and just assume that they're good with things that pertain to that element

garmadon took over the realm because wu disappeared and never got the chance to gather the ninja together, so the realm is ruled by lord garmadon and bad things just keep on happening, the next serpentine war, the great devour gets released again ect ect

and a few years pass by and garmadons reign still isn't letting up and the world continues to get more and more broken and beaten down. So they do what they have to to survive it. Then they do some more things they just felt like doing afterwards

Jay got started in crime by building and selling weapons to people made out of scraps from the junkyard, then he started building cars and became a pretty good get away driver. Eventually he got a bit too gung ho about winning races and hacked too close to the sun, bringing down a few gangs worth of anger on himself. Fleeing the junkyard to protect his parents, he went to ninjago city to start up new, hearing about an artifact retrieval job that seems promising. He's strong in tech and hacking and weak at stealing and fighting. He thinks his talent with tech and hacking is just from practice, although sometimes his experiments fry themselves and he just can't work out why that is yet.

Cole ran away from the Marty Oppenheimer school and got himself indebted with the chen crime family, and worked as a bodyguard for them to pay off his debt and got stuck in a magical contract with them that if he leaves them they'll go after his family, so he goes by a fake name (Rocky Dangerbuff) for this reason. He's been able to gather alot of info on the family by being their bodyguard for several years. But he's loyal to a fault, and wouldn't leave them without good enough reason. Eventually, it got to the point that they were asking him to do things he wasn't comfortable with (murder) and he escaped with the leaders daughter (who also didn't want to do a murder), and now he's on the run from them in ninjago city. He's strong at fighting and at grifting, weak at tech and hacking. When he was hiding out underground, he was really good at finding caves to hide in. Like unusually good at it. And freehand mountain climbing has always come very easy to him.

Zane is searching for his father, having half of his memories activated, so he knows about his father and that he is a nindroid, but not what the nin part stands for or that his father died. He has been traveling around all of ninjago searching for any info on his father, not caring who he hurts along the way in his search, and through that he's acquired alot of top secret information about the various groups, and has disturbed one such group (Borg industries) who have been persistently after him for his exstensive knowledge. Ninjago city is the last place they would search for him after he lead them in a trail far away from there, so he's hiding out right under their nose when he hears about a job to get an artifact that might help him find the next clue to his father. He's strong at planning and at info gathering, weak at grifting and fighting (hasn't activated his ninja programming yet). He thinks his comfortability with the cold has to do with him being a nindroid. Although he's never met another droid who can withstand negative 30 degree temperatures, come to think of it he's never met another droid like him at all.

Kai started grifting people a bit after his parents blacksmithing shop started to lose business, and he started really swindling people coming into town after garmadon took over to get enough money to get by. He kept from nya where he was getting most of their money from, and when she found out she wanted in on it too, so they became a thieving duo with a routine where he grifts and distracts while nya sneaks around and steals stuff. They get chased out of their hometown when they get caught, and are hiding out in ninjago city looking for work for a bit. They get contacted for a job to steal an artifact, not their usual gig but at this point they'll take anything they can get. He's strong at grifting and at fighting, and weak at planning and info gathering. He has an affinity with fire and will usually set fires for distractions, which annoys nya to no end. It's not his fault fires are so easy to set.

Nya has been stealing for a good portion of her life, after their parents died she had to get good at it so they could survive. They couldn't live off the scraps of metal kai insisted were weapons forever. She also got good at building and hacking things while kai was off grifting, someone had to keep the shop running well enough. Until garmadon took over and their shop went under completely. Then they honed in their thieving skills. Then they got too good and she got too ambitious and got them caught. So they broke out of jail and ran as far as they could to ninjago city, where the local enforcement would never be able to reach them, where they heard about an artifact retrieval job. She's strong at stealing and at tech, weak at grifting and at teamwork. Nya's always had more of a knack with tech and metal than anything else, so she honed in on that skill. She's never noticed how water reacts to her presence, how it attaches itself to her emotions, how the most she feels at peace is when she's by the endless ocean, not when she's working tirelessly at her workbench.

Also lloyd, who doesn't know about the green ninja prophecy or wu or the other ninja, he works as garmadons right hand in this new world, having earned the title through hard work and is still trying to work hard to earn his fathers love. He lives as the dark prince of this world, having whatever he wishes, except his freedom, so he got really good at sneaking around to get that too. He'll do whatever garmadon asks of him, no matter what. He hears rumors about a group of kids that's going against garmadons enforcers and decides to take them in himself, that'll really show those other generals who keep saying he only got this position because garmadons his dad. He is strong in stealing and stealth, weak at tech and grifting. And if he notices the way that his fathers golden weapons glow his presence he keeps that to himself, its probably nothing to be worried about. Probably.

And ronin, he's been doing what he has been doing (stealing, grifting, heisting, hacking, whatever will pay off his debts the fastest) for a long time. Almost too long at this point. He's too worked hard to made a name for himself in ninjago city to let go of that now. He gets contacted to steal an artifact for alot of money, and he can't just turn down an easy job like that. He's got a reputation to think of. Little does he know that it's not going to be easy and that there's a ragtag bunch of kids also after the same artifact. And he's not planning on mentoring the next generation or whatever. He just wants his rep to stay solid and the payout from from the job, that's it. He's very sure that this one job won't impact his life in any meaningful way. But these kids need someone to keep them out of trouble, and when he keeps catching them after his artifact, he decides that really it'll be good for himself to give them some pointers that's all. He is strong at anything crime related really, but specificlly stealing and planning, and weak at teamwork and at not getting attached to these kids who keep finding him.

Because AU ideas go Brr, Chen And Krux Working Together AU

Okay so I can’t remember whether Krux and Acronix defecting came before or after the Serpentine war, but for the sake of this au let’s just say it came after.

ANYWAY when Krux appears in time earlier without his brother, for a while things go as canon. He creates Dr. Sanders Saunders, starts slowly befriending Ray and Maya, making plans to take over Ninjago, but then realizes that he can’t do this alone. If someone were to come along to fight him, it wouldn’t be much of a fight since he didn’t have his elemental powers, and 40 years is a long time to wait for both his brother and the Time Blades to reappear(he’d wait a life time for his brother, but practicalities).

That’s when he remembers an old enemy who was similarly banished, Master Chen.

Ofc, them meeting at first doesn’t go very well, Chen obviously being very upset over the whole banishing thing, but Krux is able to sway him by saying together they could rule Ninjago, doing whatever they pleased and making Wu and Garmadon pay for what they did. He also throws incentive in the form of Ray and Maya, which is what finally convinces them.

From there, they start planning things out. Krux is able to travel to Ninjago and bring news, and they start preparations for the tournament. With a combination of Clouse’s spells and some spying from Krux, they’re able to figure out just how to lure in each of the EM’s.

Now, when the ninja all meet up at Chen’s Noodles and find the invite, the first note they read very clearly says “Master Chen has personally invited the Masters of Earth, Energy and Lightning to participate in his Tournament of Elements.” Kai is very upset that this mean he probably won’t be able to go and he hates just sitting around, but there honestly isn’t much he can do about it.

At least until he gets back to the Bounty to find Nya frantically pacing.

He asks what’s going on but she just throws a scroll of paper at his face and tells him to read.

He does, and it’s a similar offer to the one he saw the other guys get and reads as follows

“Master Chen has personally invited the Masters of Fire and Water to partake in his Tournament of Elements. Meet on the docks at midnight. Tell no one.”

And Kai mentions how he just saw the guys getting a similar one, but Nya tells him to look on the back.

And it’s a picture of their parents along with a note saying they know where they are and will tell them if either win the Tournament

Cue a not so mild freak out since holy shit their parents are alive but also oh no they have to chose between Zane and their parents, but also Nya’s an Elemental Master???? 

However they don’t have much time to dispute it as it’s almost midnight and they need to get to the boat. They quickly pack some things, specifically a pair of trackers and experimental communicators that are incredibly difficult to spot and head out

They’re just barely able to arrive on time, and because of that don’t immediately find the other ninja on the boat. They actually spend most of the trip in a corner trying to figure out what the hell Nya’s going to do since she just found out she had powers like, two hours ago and hasn’t unlocked her True Potential, and they weren’t allowed to bring weapons. They pretty quickly come to the conclusion that there isn’t much they can do, and to just hope her training is enough to get her through.

Kai doesn’t actually fight Karlof this time, nor does he meet Skylor.

They arrive, the other Ninja are like “:000 Kai and Nya? What’re you doing here?” And explain that the two of them got a separate invite, probably because they were siblings and how Nya is apparently the Master of Water, carefully leaving out their parents involvement.

During Chen’s explanation Krux is actually standing by Chen along with Clouse but disguised, but both Kai and Nya feel like he’s vaguely familiar.

Nya’s room is right next to Kai’s, actually where Skylor’s would’ve been and when it’s time to start he gives her the Jade Blade, saying he’ll figure something out, which I mean, technically he does but Nya punches him for cutting it so close

The Fighting Rounds occur basically the same. Nya ends up fighting Mr.Paleman, and I actually don’t need to change anything for that since in the show he doesn’t actually fight anyone….for some reason. Yeah not sure why that happened but it makes things easier for me and her match takes place after Kai and Ash’s.

Oh also Nya is Very Done with the love triangle bull and yells at them before the match to stop being idiots since it was all a misunderstanding that happened months ago, so they don’t Fight Fight but Cole still ends up getting eliminated.

During the Thunderblade match Nya is only slightly better than Kai at skating, being able to actually keep her balance, but again not much canon change.

Alliance time, they don't find the spy, badadadadada quick bounce back to Stuff Happening In The Factory

Through some events Cole gets hurt and needs to be sent to the medics. Nothing too bad, but he should probably get it checked out.

Surprise surprise, the pair is none other than Ray and Maya. The reason they’re there and not working is because they’re too valuable to be out and about, sort of like Zane. 

Cole likes them though. Maya reminds him of his mom. He also promises to get them out.... somehow.

Swigging swoo time for powers to get snatched.

Only now we also have Krux revealing himself, commenting on how much Kai and Nya have grown. They’re understandably confused, but then Kai remembers his parents had a friend who stopped visiting around when they went missing. Kai gets extraordinarily pissed, like full feral trying to throw himself at Krux, yelling about how it’s all his fault they were alone.

Chen steals their powers, however it doesn’t quite work with Nya. That’s because the block that keeps EMs from using their powers prior to True Potential also keeps it blocked from most methods of stealing it.

Sooooo they end up taking her which just pisses Kai off even more. (The other EMs are lowkey afraid of him, as they should)

Eventually Jay finally asks who that guy was and why it’s making Kai so upset at which they learn that the invite Kai and Nya got said that is they won they’d get info on their parents who disappeared when they were kids and that guy was a “friend” of theirs who stopped visiting around the same time and seems to have kidnapped them. Lloyd then asks what he meant by them being alone, at which Kai quickly explains how he’s been basically raising Nya since their parents disappeared. Then one of the EMs asks how long ago that was, and Kai just casually says since he was 5 and Nya was 3. Cue much concern, but they don’t have time to deal with that, they need to break out.

And it goes pretty well. They get Nya and Sensei G, fight off the cultists, free some of the other people trapped, and then Cole’s like “wait we can’t forget the medics” so they start heading that way, and bam revealed that those two are Kai and Nya’s parents and they have a nice lil reunion :D

And after that canon is....pretty much the same, Kai ends up getting captured along with Skylor because they’re salty, and he’s able to convince her to join their side. Ray and Maya are also pretty sad about Sensei G leaving since they just reunited.

I think that’s everything....

Oh right Krux. Well....he sorta escapes. He had escape plans long before he even officially joined Chen, so it wasn’t too difficult to escape. The ninja are on high alert and because Wu is aware the Twins might be an issue explains how Acronix, the other twin, will be retuning shortly after the DotD.

He presses her down into the bed, climbing over her. Their clothes vanish. He hooks his fingers on her knickers, pulls her legs around his shoulders, trailing a sinful path with his tongue.

Consider- au where Chen and Clouse have their places swapped. How's Ninjago's history going down now?

Thinking about this all day, here are my thoughts below the cut, as I don’t doubt I’m going to get wordy here !

- Not an entire swap, but instead a mostly-swap. Chen still recruits Clouse & Garmadon as his students, only Clouse achieves the title of Lord instead of Garmadon

- Clouse ends up using this power-high to gain Master Chen’s absolute favor; he edits mail sent for Garmadon to trick him into thinking nobody back home wants him back and that they don’t want him on the Elementals side during the war, he flawlessly gains new students for Chen through the same manipulations Chen used on him, he sabotages the peace treaty talks between the Serpentine and Humans without being ordered, etc. just to earn Chen’s complete and absolute trust while keeping Garmadon on their side purely for his elemental abilities

- Lloyd still ends up being born but that’s a later point

- Clouse uses his newfound trust with Chen to begin pulling the strings behind Chen’s back, something he was unable to do in canon. He manages to convince Chen that his [Clouse’s] ideas are his own, making Chen want to go through with these plans once Clouse calls him brilliant & a mastermind etc etc. Begins to build up the cult not on the basis of becoming anacondrai but working with them as the war rages on far longer than it does in canon

- At this point the elementals are losing and Chen is fading more into the background as Clouse uses his “friendship” with Garmadon and allyship with the Anacondrai generals to boost his status/power (including Pythor, which the two become good “friends”)

- Chen attempts to confront Clouse about this, reminding him he is his student, and Clouse threatens to have him exiled from the Serpentine lands to instead face the Elementals himself. Not knowing it was a bluff due to Pythor backing Clouse up. With nowhere to go, Chen finds himself stripped of his Master status and working under his own student. He tries to branch off and restart his cult multiple times, but is shut down every time

- The war continues raging on, now with the Serpentine winning. Wu & Garmadon confront on the battle field and realize Clouse forged everything and managed to block all other forms of communication between them, but it’s too late to try and stop them all now, as by now the snake flutes hadn’t been discovered to also work on the Serpentine

- War ends in treaty that all elementals must leave the main continent of Ninjago, all humans may stay but have to obey Serpentine rule (Clouse then being crowned as a  Human-Serpentine ambassador, he of course abuses this power— Pythor granted Serpentine-Human ambassador, same thing)

- Garmadon and Misako end up getting together/having a fling while leaving the mainland which results in Lloyd

this sounds really poorly written in bullet points but I promise it makes more sense in my head !! the au would center around the ninja all having grown up together on this elemental island (+ a few of the elemental’s non-elemental spouses) and Wu telling them they were the key to returning Ninjago to how it had been before the war. The Serpentine themselves are NOT the bad guys, it’s more Clouse & Pythor (with Chen not really counting because he’d help the ninja just to overthrow Clouse. Skylor is the only elemental not on the island because she’s Chen’s daughter & has proven useful to Clouse and Pythor). Idk how the AU would end but that’s basically my first thoughts on it.

 It’d maybe end with Ninjago being restored to its original state with the Serpentine holding most of the land & the Humans staying on the lands they were originally allowed that the serpentine can’t live in I think. also clouse & pythor would go to prison as is the cliché w/ all ninjago villains. just locked behind bars.

I really (and i mean really) like (love?) this chapter Title because...

Well, I intend for it to be the first chapter, where Morro and Lloyd meet Morro lives bc I said so

This is also a riff off of the first episode (not including the pilots) of Ninjago, where we're first introduced to Lloyd while he's stirring up trouble in Jamanakai, and instead of the Ninja, Morro is there... and Lloyd still pops open a can of snakes, as he does in the show, but in Morro’s face.

Oh shiiiit, where do I even begin with this one... this one's spoiler-y, too I mean the title alone, ugh, good shit 😩

For timeline's sake, we're gonna say that the Serpentine war was 10-15 years ago and Morro and Ronin were 15-17 when it started and they fought in it Ronin’s age is relevant because Reasons

This chapter idea is maybe more of a whole character arc, or maybe a 'part one' of something. It takes place after Morro is denied by the Golden Weapons and has left the Monastery. These are not good years for Morro, no... the years that he is gone, off to find the FSM's Tomb to prove Wu wrong, tensions between Human and Serpentine are rising. Morro begrudgingly gives up his search for the FSM's Tomb in favor of making amends with Wu, who is eager to accept him back.

I struggled with what i wanted to name this chapter/idea. It's a lot about Ronin’s past, during the Serpentine War era, and where he got his name. Which- first of all, how dare I hurt my feelings like this- and second- Chen and Clouse 🤌 so bad but so good hgnnn 😩

I didn't realize this before when I was word vomiting into my docs but- accidental Morro and Ronin parallels ha, iconic✨ oopsie anyways-

So like Morro is taken in by Wu at a young age, Ronin is... also taken in by Chen and Clouse from a young age. Moreso Chen's idea than Clouse's, I'd imagine...

"Put it back where you found it, you don't know where it's been,"

And you know when you're at that age that you really want a pet, and you finally wear down at least one of your parental figures into getting you one?

In their care, Ronin grows up, nameless (they didn't even give him a name!!! I'm so ANGRY but I have no one to blame but myself 😭 why do i do this) and competing with Clouse and Garm for Chen's attention. I go more in-depth with this idea in conversations with @spookycrownblaze which i may or may not end up dumping here to inflict all of my angsty ideas onto the fandom but we're not done yet...

During this time, Ronin also trains. Most of the competition is between Clouse and Garm, and there is definitely some deep rooted *ahem* jealousy between those two fight! fight! fight! 👀👀👀 bUT THATS BESIDES THE POINT-

Ronin trains, Garmadon and Clouse butt heads, Garmadon cheats to win Chen's favor, Garmadon leaves, and it's back down to Chen, Clouse, and this no-name kid. And at some point Skylor is born and Clouse is Still Jealous but that doesn't matter and Ronin becomes Chen's left hand man. Now, and I don't know why, if feels important that I distinguish that he's Chen's left hand man and Clouse is his right hand but that might have to do with the old left handedness superstition for some kind of symbolism...

Oh, yeah, and by the time the war starts, Ronin is a Samurai... and after forsaking Chen as his master, he becomes Ronin. As in, that's his whole identity. That's who he is. That's the first and only choice he's ever made for himself. And also Morro

Ok but Misako, Wendell, and Morro all having deep cut boss fight style encounters with the elemental alliance and other active parties in the serpentine war

Misako’s got Granny Grundle who she’s trained to act as her mount and treasure tracker like Shiver having Master Mega

Yes it’s the very same Grundle that ended up hunting the ninja later on with its mega weapon induced revival

But that very Grundle first terrorized Garmadon and the elemental alliance

Misako: C’mon Granny pedal to the present! I need you focused!

Garmadon: How did you even tame a grundle?!?!

Misako: Lots of love and meat silly. NOW STAY STILL SO I CAN GET YOUR GROUP’S TREASURE!

Garmadon manages to defeat Misako barely and that was because he ended up making out with him to the horror of both side’s of the war

Morro took on the role of Big Man’s style of boss fight hiding within a dust storm

Morro had his special goggles on him to protect his eyes

But he duked it out against Chen’s flunkies managing to come out on top

Morro: I wouldn’t fight you if I didn’t have to. THIS IS FOR STIXX!

He got both of their treasures easily which was all of Clouse/Chen’s spell books and staff

Wendell got Frye’s style of boss fight and literally dukes it out with a Shamisen that summons Beohernie the giant scarab and other smaller but still monstrous beetles

He found it buried in the sea of sands long ago and he already knew how to play stringed instruments as a way to busk and get money for his sister and his own survival

He steals the serpentine’s secret weapons and wins big

Lysaedion Spy AU

Summary: Lysandra is a secret agent employed by Arobynn Hamel. Her latest mission requires that she engage with Aedion Ashryver at a political gala to distract him away from his cousin's protection. Lysandra isn't sure what Arobynn's motives are regarding Aelin, only that her role requires that she pull Aedion away by any means necessary. 

Much to her surprise, the Prince of Terrasen is charming and friendly, eager to dance and spend time by her side. That is, until Aedion reveals that he's on a mission of his own, and Lysandra finds herself confronted by Aelin's court with a lucrative job offer. The problem is that it requires that she provide intel on Arobynn, putting herself and her family at risk and challenging everything she thought she knew of her life.

This fic contains: strong language, shameless flirtation, pining, jealousy, sexual tension, sexual content, and some violence.

Part 1 

“I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you, miss.”

Lysandra turned her head sharply and had to look up to peer into the face of her greeter. Her green eyes fell on ones of bright turquoise with a ring of gold; Ashryver eyes through and through. She scanned his face, observing how he had his golden hair swept into a low bun at the back of his head. If she truly had to complete this mission by any means necessary, she decided she could be much worse off than the beautiful man next to her.

Part 2

Silence, albeit tense, settled over the vehicle for the remaining minutes of the drive. Lysandra’s eyes drifted over slightly to Aedion, taking in the determined set of his jaw and the elegant strength of his upper body. It baffled her to think they’d been so comfortable with one another just a short time ago; laughing together, spinning across the dance floor, and genuinely enjoying each other’s company. In that moment, he was only a middle seat away from her, but it might as well have been miles.

Part 3

Aedion bit his lip as he considered; battling some internal etiquette war, no doubt. She dared to lean over and pat the other side of the bed, her final invitation. She wasn’t going to beg, for the gods’ sake.

Part 4

She had been his closer more times than she could count, and it was about time he admitted it to her and the others. The idea of continuing to pad the fragile egos of these men and allowing them to credit themselves with her contributions was absolutely nauseating to her now.

Part 5

Lysandra learned more everyday about what made Aedion so successful in winning the charms of others. His voice rolled over her skin with painful gentleness, and she was grateful that her body managed to avoid flushing at the sound of it. 

Part 6

“Mhm. You looked just as enamored with him as he did with you. To a certain degree, that’s to be expected considering the nature of your assignment. But you see, you and I, we watch people for a living, and I couldn’t help having some trouble discerning what was genuine from the role you’re to be playing.”

Part 7 

His words were cut off by a firm click of the space bar to pause the audio. Lorcan's eyes scanned the table, gauging the reactions of the court, but with particular interest on the princess. Lysandra dared to look her way again to see her face was white, almost green, with panic starting to brew a tempest in those turquoise eyes. In this state, Lysandra would swear the gold rings of her eyes were living flames. 

Part 8

He asked the the Guards who followed him to hang back and slid his hands into the pockets of his deep navy blue suit. Eyes the color of bright sapphires gleamed as he smiled toward them and slowed to a stop.

“Welcome to Rifthold,” he announced, his tone smooth and casual.

Part 9 

Dorian brought the queen forward, in greeting to some and introduction to others. She was polite, diplomatic, yet she did not emanate the warmth that Lysandra so often encountered when meeting royalty. It appeared that her Majesty had no interest in pretense, no matter her rank. Something about Manon made her feel exposed, vulnerable even, as if she saw through every cell of Lysandra’s body.

Part 10

Nothing about introducing him to the single most important person in her life was the behavior of someone prepared to walk away from it all. She cursed her lack of forethought in presenting it to him, but her brain subconsciously refused to entertain anything about the possibility of Aedion being a temporary fixture in her life. How had she let herself get here?

Part 11 

Lysandra couldn’t find the words, but it didn’t matter because Lorcan had already stepped forward to pull her roughly to his chest. He tucked her head beneath his chin, his hand gripping his other wrist to hold her against him. She wrapped her arms around his waist, blubbering excuses for her behavior into his now soaked shirt. 

Part 12

Lysandra reached toward his face, brushing his hair behind his ear as she scanned his expression. He gave nothing away. She sat up slightly to press a lingering kiss to his mouth, one he returned in kind. Aedion chased her lips as she lay back down, causing her to giggle softly as she pressed her index and middle fingers to his mouth to interrupt his pursuit.

“I don’t know,” she murmured around her smile. “I find it pretty easy to like you. I think I’d find myself pretty lucky to have you like me long-term.”

Part 13

Fresh tears, although it was nearly impossible to tell where one set stopped and another began, started to roll down her cheeks. Lysandra hated how much having her own words thrown at her stung. This must have been the Aedion that Lorcan had alluded to; the one Aedion warned her about when he said he didn’t like who he was. Her heart clenched at the difference in the man before her, especially upon realizing her words were the ones that brought this side of him out.

Part 14

On heavy feet, she forced herself to maintain a casual pace as she walked toward the conference room. Her heart thundered within her chest at twice the pace of her footfalls, leaving her feeling chaotic and unnerved. She paused with her hand on the conference room door and took a long, deep breath. It was best to prepare herself for anything she may see, but even in the event that she couldn’t, she told herself she only had to manage her external reaction. Her internal reaction was her own and an entirely different story.

Part 15

The prince grunted loudly at the pain on impact, but his grip on her remained as tight as he could manage. She wondered what the severities of all his injuries were, but she supposed she would find out in due time. In that moment she was content to hug him, to feel his warmth pressed along the lines of her body, to have his large hands fisted in the back of her shirt. She clutched his back as if he was the only thing keeping her from toppling off the face of the earth, her face buried against his chest as various emotions flooded her.

“I’m so fucking mad at you.”

Part 16

Heavy, malignant silence settled over the entire room. Aedion glanced at Lysandra then, mirroring her look of concern. Perhaps no one had briefed Dorian on the growing, rampant whispers of he and Aelin’s intentions over the last couple of days. Had he known, surely he would have understood the implied weight of his words. Darrow seemed happy enough to have Dorian back himself into his own trap, indicated by the slow, serpentine smile that stretched across his face.

Epilogue

Aedion waved her out to the balcony where he had a large glass of wine waiting on the small table between the ample lounge chairs. They were comfortable and one of Lysandra favorite places to relax. She dropped unceremoniously into the closest one, letting out a whoosh of air on impact. Aedion chuckled at her display, and although she knew he meant no harm, she scowled at him anyway.
