Either Izuku is a hypocrite or he got character development that he never directed toward Enji. Favoritism TM.

As much as I love Izuku and the potential his character had I personally believe that he just never had any worthy development in the series. Honestly his actions make no sense to me sometimes and he ends up contradicting himself so much it boggles my brain.

I like to think that izuku isn't a hypocrite and that horikoshi is just making him out of character and bending his character in ways to satisfy what he wants to say.

Look Izuku being angry at tomura makes sense considering that shigaraki has put Izuku's life and the lives of izukus loved ones in danger trying to kill them so that makes sense. However, I think the way the whole izuku and shigaraki thing was handled was horrible from both sides. They lacked development so yes Izuku saying that he wants to save shigaraki made no proper sense because he doesn't know shigaraki and shigaraki doesn't know Izuku. This is the reason why hori had to speed run the memory sharing thing that prioritised shigarakis memories instead of having it be a two way thing (aka it was only there for izuku to learn about Shigaraki and his backstory). In the end the whole shigaraki and izuku thing is underdeveloped from both sides and leaves a bad taste in my mouth while making me question what Izuku's point ever was (like I don't think Izuku did it out of pride but it was so horribly executed that I don't think Izuku just did it to help shigaraki)

I have already talked about my opinions on what izuku said about enji and how I think it's out of character for him and hori again bending his character to say such things but what irritates me most is that izuku isn't oblivious he is also an abuse victim. Izuku a character that gets robbed of agency and autonomy is controlled to say that an abuser has developed and deserves to be forgiven which makes me so livid especially because Izuku has never gotten the chance to confront his own abuser or even acknowledge his own abuse so this is just straight up cruel from hori.

In the end this also sends a horrible message of you have to forgive and be the perfect victim to be saved and have a chance at life while witnessing your abuser never getting concequences for their actions.

Anyways, the longer I think about it, the more its bounty has a very clear class implication that goes along with Veils' desire to not so much have a rival, as have a victim who draws out the killing. 4 billion Echoes. Think about who would go for that. A bounty like that, a share big enough to fund your life many times over and ridiculous enough to be a warning in itself, is going to pull out the overconfident, the overly curious, and the desperate. The type of people baited into hunting Veils would end up being: 1. Rich hunters armed to the teeth looking for glory, 2. The odd curious Neathy newcomer who's about to get way in over their head, and 3. Anyone too desperate to turn down a chance at the money, even if they know the chance is low if anything.

The first kind it could be flashy about dismantling, and prideful in its ability to overcome a well-funded arsenal. The last two kinds of people will be afraid. Openly, miserably, viscerally afraid. It enjoys that. There's a reason it takes its good sweet time actually showing up to try and kill the PC in the late stages of BaL, even though it can travel through Parabola and definitely has the resources to just have them assassinated at a distance if it really came down to it. It wanted desperate people to come to it, and it wanted them to jump through the ridiculous side-quest hoops the Scarred Naturalist set out, and it wanted them to show up and be afraid, for its own entertainment. For a chance at prize money they never had a shot at getting.

What I'm saying is modern-day Veils would fund those humiliating game shows.

Summer doesn't play around with that. Though I can see summer, with a certain type of reader, letting you wander and wander alone (kind of like in the fic) until you're practically begging for his companionship again. He's very volatile... stormy... if he doesn't get what he wants.

For spring... Robin I feel would want to keep you, but he's not the type to like, break your leg or anything if you're saying you want to leave.

You want to leave? Sure, go ahead, silly.

He just knows that you leaving him will inevitably result in you coming back to him, like how spring always returns after winter, how newborn calves always come, how flowers always bloom.

So yes, you can leave... but you'll be back, one way or another. He doesn't worry about it. He doesn't take things very seriously, IMO.

I also think Robin uh, sometimes loses track of a reader. He might say he'll be right back and then come back a month later, not realizing it's been so long, and not really thinking it's a big deal that he was gone, either. He'll always be back, so what's the fuss?

I could see a reader giving Robin an impassioned speech about how people need freedom and growth, they need to experience the fullness of life and not just an eternal sweet spring. Just you absolutely opening your soul to him, explaining why you want--no, NEED--to go home.

And when you're all done, when the tears are in your eyes and you're almost breathless with your emotions, Robin just... kisses your nose and tucks a flower in your hair and says he's got something amazing to show you, and he drags you to watch a burrow of bunnies being born.

Seedling update!

The bok choy has fully formed true leaves and got its first drink of dilute fertilizer yesterday. I'll be sowing some seed in the cold frame bare spots today. I expect that will germinate and grow more slowly. The Swiss chard has caused me to raise that end of the shop light to keep from burning them. No progress on the Chinese cabbage, but I checked the seed packet and realized it was 10 years old (oops) and cabbage seeds don't tend to last that long. I added an excessive pinch of extra seed to each cell to see if any will germinate at all. If not, I do have another variety to use that's only 2 years old and will start it Fridayish.

Chinese broccoli proceeding nicely. Still no germination from the celeriac. Need to check the stats on that one to see if adding more seed is indicated.

Bulbing fennel is up! Only one cell is a dud so I added two more seeds. Tried growing this one in the earthboxes last year and while it grew nicely, it didn't bulb up. Instead I let it flower to support beneficials and used it to seed save. I still used seed from the original packet for this year, but I'll try planting it in the ground (raised bed) to see if the container was the problem. It will be in the same general area as the bronze fennel, so no seed saving this year.

And finally, I got two hands of older ginger in this week's haul of food waste for the chickens. It's a bit early, but I'm soaking them (to remove the anti-sprouting compounds) and will pot them up to grow. It generally takes 3-6 weeks for the sprouts to appear so I'll keep the pot in my very warm, bright bathroom until at least May. I've got some additional hands saved from last year's harvest to plant as well (without the anti-sprouting stuff) but they'll be going directly in two huge outdoor pots once it's warm enough.

This week's seeds to start will be basil and peppers. Have to go assess my overwintered pepper plants to see what's going to survive. I didn't keep any Shishito or pimento plants, so those for sure. I have genovese and sweet thai basils. Wish i had lemon basil too (it's SO good tossed with roasted veggies), but I'm out. Might also start a few cells of garden sage and thyme. I tried overwintering my thyme as I had a full small earthbox of it, but it died immediately upon moving it indoors *sad face*
