popular opinion: in medieval times (1016 years btw) they barely washed, they used to eat the same five things every day, they were generally miserable, died very early and didn't have any kind of serious medicine. they used religion as witchcraft and they were technology stuck. also, INQUISITION.
reality:
they washed, quite regularly, like any other worker in the country. not only that, they knew there was a correlation between dirt and infections. warriors used to wash themselves and their clothes thoroughly before a battle, because they knew wounds would have a less likely chance to become infected if they didn't come into contact with dirt (they actually boiled their linens).
Europe have always had its large variety of vegetables, we just stopped eating them / grow them / because after the 1400 some of the imported seeds were easier to farm in large quantities in various climates (but we lost most of their knowledge after the 50s). we always had lots of herbs so food did have taste.
they were not miserable, they were simply living. they had a decent work/life balance but it's not like the Roman Empire crumbled and everything become very sad (like, no holidays, free time, food and shelter. you have to remember that the nuclear family is a very young concept. people lived in large numbers, extended families etc. you were never alone and you shared responsibilities and all). they were still regular people with regular lives and regular problems (and honestly, can you look at our world today and saying we don't have to worry about was, famine, drought and pestilence?).
yeah the life expectancy was not the one of today but it wasn't that uncommon to reach 50 o 60. it depended a lot of your job, luck, class, care of yourself, etc.
they did had medicine. not the one of today but you know all those "modern" bio remedies based all on plants etc? yeah, they're old. very old and they could cure some common stuff and hard stuff (I should find that link of a medicine book that there was only one copy of it in England and had the only recipe for curing an eye disease that it's still tricky today).
yeah. no. yes, they were religious in a different way that we are today because religion kind of permeate every aspect of their life. you have to remember that theater was not allowed, but religious reenactment were and you can betcha they went full drama on them (it's actually how the theater got to be reborn). so it was like the cinema of today. they did not fall on their knees praying for God or the Saints to save them at any occasion, they put work towards fixing their problem. not very different than today.
guys, you seriously believe that in 1016 years, with scholars freely running through the lands of Europe (they used to get free passage everywhere), books being copied and shared, big fairs happening regularly with people from near and far countries participating, that there wasn't even a single tiny tiny technological improvement? I'll leave you the wikipedia article for you to read in your own time
guys, if Galileo taught us anything is how they were not so ready to burn people at the first sign of heresy. "heretics" got several warnings and occasions to abjure whatever they were doing and killing them was the last extreme solution (like, refusing to stop following your own cult, preaching to the masses, fortifying your village to resist the besiege from the Church army, etc...). the Spanish inquisition was another thing and it was after the medieval millennium.
I'm not saying it was a peachy period, I'm just saying it was a period and not the worse by a long shot.

All the cheating... Harming others... It was mind-boggling to her.
The prefect didn't understand the purpose.
Savanaclaw had finally been caught red-handed, and now she and her friends faced the housewarden and his boot lickers.
He'd given up so quickly that it felt almost too easy...
Her dreams were certainly enough to tell her this wouldn't end so cleanly.
Was she a prophet? No.
Despite that, she was still shown just who would be a problem next. Or at least what dorm.
Everyone in this school was such a nuisance...
Savanaclaw had done nothing but waste her time and energy.
All this over one stupid sport... Such sore losers...
Not even a solid hour in, he was saying all kinds of unjust things to the people who willingly helped him! Believed in him!
The very people who practically worshipped him!
"For all the talk about 'the world watching,' this is still just schoolkids playin' a game." Leona spoke with so much apathy that it made Reign's stomach churn....
"All you wide-eyed tenderfoots talkin' about your dreams... Pfft. The whole thing amused me, so I threw you a bone. That's all this was."
How dare he...
"What do you mean? What happened to working together to turn the world upside down?" Ruggie was in disbelief...
"Are you seriously still goin' on about that? All right, fine. You wanna hear the truth?" The housewarden's expression turned to an unkind one. It was never kind to begin with, but it worsened...
"You're a hyena who grew up in a dump, and I'm a secondborn prince who won't ever be king. And there is NO turning that around!"
Ruggie obviously had qualms with those words, and spoke against them quickly, "What? You gotta be kidding me! What is this? You can't just quit after we've come this far!"
Another student spoke up, "You can't do this to us, boss!"
Why did they bother with him at this point? It made no sense...
"You're gonna play, even if we gotta drag you there kicking and screaming!" Another exclaimed.
Leona was only getting irritated...
"Bah, I'm so sick of this nonsense. Shut UP, you nobodies!"
Dust kicked up, almost as though a sandstorm was brewing..
Leona had gripped Ruggie's arm, and the skin began to crack...
A pained noise erupted from his throat, but it was choked out and dry...
"Everything the housewarden touched is turning to sand?!" Jack was visibly concerned for the wellbeing of Ruggie.
"That'd be my signature spell. The King's Roar." Leona spoke in a sinister tone... "Ironic, isn't it? Nothin' the savanna hates more than a drought." His grip on Ruggie tightened..
"Yet its prince's magic desiccates everything—reduces it to sand."
"B-boss... It hurts...!" The hyena managed to speak.
Reign was getting close to losing her temper...
Deuce's eyes widened, "Ruggie's arm! The skin is cracking!"
"Your spell can legit dry out a HUMAN BEING!?" Ace was in awe, but he was scared.
Seemed like Riddle had just about enough, "Leona, I cannot allow this to continue! Off With Your Head!"
Instead of his collar stopping Leona... it bounced off.
"Myah!? Riddle's collar bounced right off!" Grim exclaimed, clearly surprised.
Leona gave a dark chuckle, "Maybe you're some kinda prodigy, kid, but don't go thinkin' you're smarter than your elders. I aced my Protective Magic classes in my sleep."
Riddle gritted his teeth at those words...
The lion barked out a laugh, "Hah! How do you like that, Ruggie? Does it hurt? Is your mouth too dry to keep licking my boots? That was your finest talent, too."
Jack was almost shaking...
"If we don't stop him, Ruggie's gonna..."
Reign exhaled, stepping forward, "I've seen and heard just. About. Enough from you..." She was fuming..
"Hah? And what can a magicless herbivore like you do?" Leona glared at her, "Since the day we met, you've done nothing but challenge my authority..."
"I ain't scared of some wannabe king who can't even get his act together!" Reign spoke firmly, "You're nothin', but a coward in my eyes!"
Leona glared at her, and they locked eyes, neither backing down for even a second...
Riddle spoke once more, "I don't get it! If you have that much power, why do this?!"
Leona chuckled at his question, "Why? What do you care, kid? You gonna scold me? Try to talk me down?" Leona spoke grimly, "Don't you get it? Power alone ain't enough to make waves in this world. Look at Ruggie here. He's like a muzzled dog. Pathetic, ain't it? Hard not to pity him."
Ruggie was choked up, already struggling to stay alive.
Jack finally had enough, "That's enough! Unleash the beast!!" He cried, and his form shifted into that of a wolf.
Everyone was startled by this!
Even Leona, who had completely lost focus.
Riddle saw this as an opportunity, "Off with your head!!"
Now, Leona's magic could do no harm.
Deuce got Ruggie away from Leona, now at a safe distance.
Sebek and Silver got the wounded out of the stadium.
Leona was fuming now, "No... NO! You can't collar a lion! And Jack! How did you... Transformation potions are forbidden! Where did you get that?"
"I didn't use a potion—that's my signature spell." Jack explained, "With it, I can transform myself into a wolf."
"Ha! What's that saying? Every dog has his day? Well, I guess you had yours!"
Reign glared into Leona's very soul.
Listening to him speak was becoming irritating...
"Housewarden Leona, I want you to know... I only came to this school because of how much I admired you! What happened to the man you used to be?" Jack questioned him.
"Shut up... Your dreams got nothin' to do with me!" Leona snapped.
Riddle took a moment to try and defuse the situation, "I understand the irony of me being the one to say it, but it pains me to see you like this. You'd be wise to confine yourself to your room and try to calm down!"
Leona glowered at him, "What do you know about how I feel?!"
Lilia stepped up, having a grin on his face, "Would that the lion king of the savanna could witness this absolute farce." He started, "No, if you ask me, the collar suits you far better than a crown ever could."
He was being far nicer than Reign planned to be...
"Huh!?" Leona was still holding onto his pride, but a few more words... that would be all it took...
"You may bemoan the fact that you're not higher in line to be king. But with that sensitive ego of yours? That so quickly directs all your petty anger at your retainers..." He continued, "Well, the idea of you ever contending with a REAL king like our Malleus—is absolutely laughable. Even if you COULD defeat Malleus, so long as that's how you choose to conduct yourself? You would never be fit to rule!"
And with that... Leona began to laugh...
"Hah... Ha ha. Yeah, you're probably right. No, you're EXACTLY right...! Ha ha ha ha! I will never become king. No matter how hard I try!"
Reign could sense the bad vibes leaking right off the lion... Another overblot...
"Myah! My fur's standin' on end!" Grim felt his fur bristle.
"The magic power within Leona is surging... I don't think my collar can hold it!"
Lilia had come to a realization, "No... that isn't magic power." He said, "That's negative energy. Which means..."
Reign's brows furrowed, "Fuck..."
"EVERYBODY GET DOWN!!" Cater exclaimed.
Riddle's collar was sent flying through the air.
Leona was so deep in anguish and rage...
"I've been loathed since the day I was born. I've never had a place, never had a future! None of my hard work is ever rewarded! How could any of YOU possibly understand? MY disappointment?! MY pain?!"
Upon hearing those words, Reign felt a sting in her heart.
Suddenly, Leona was nothing but a mirror to her...
She knew...
She understood...
All that pent up aggression.. All that saddness...
He was hurting, and now she could see it clearly.
Her inner empath took effect, and suddenly, she could feel his very heart.. How tainted and damaged it had been..
How unfair life had been to him, just as it had been to her.
Leona let out a powerful roar, striking fear into the hearts of many..
It was time to fight.
Reign stood tall, fully willing to take him on herself if need be.
A few words were exchanged, and the battle began.
.
.
.
Almost halfway in, Reign had suffered quite a few injuries, almost more than the others.
He was targeting her... Almost as though to be punishing her for her insolence... Punishing her for challenging him the way she always had.
Of course, she didn't care for that, until he came right for her, gripping her forearm.
The others were too focused on the blot monster to realize that she'd been grabbed.
Reign stiffened, shuddering.
Was this the end?
She closed her eyes, visibly afraid, but she didn't feel any pain aside from his tight grip on her arm.
"Where's all that fire from before...? Lost your nerve?" Leona chuckled darkly.
Reign opened her eyes, looking directly into his..
"You're hurting... aren't you?"
That was all she said. There was no anger on her face... Only sympathy.
Leona growled, "What are you talking about?"
"I know how it feels... To not be accepted by everyone around you.. I know it hurts to be beat down like that..." She didn't bother fighting against him.
The lion gritted his teeth and tightened his grip on her, digging his claws into her arm, making her wince, "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU KNOW!? YOU AND I ARE NOTHING ALIKE IF THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE SUGGESTING!!" He roared out, "I AM THE LOATHED SECOND PRINCE! WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND!?"
"I can understand plenty!" Reign spoke firmly, "I went through similar! I know damn well how it feels!" She was genuine in her words.
"You don't feel like you're good enough, and you've spent your whole life trying to impress just for one goal! I know what that's like!" She told him.
Leona clenched his jaw, "YOU KNOW NOTHING!!"
He threw her down to the ground, and she yelped.
She had no stamina left to continue to fight...
The pain in her body was becoming too much for her.
Leona stood over her weak form, "I'm going to kill you... then I'll turn the rest of this pointless world to sand... If I can't rule it.. then I'll destroy it."
He reached for her, gold magic swirling in his hand.
Seeing this, adrenaline rushed through Reign's body, and she gripped his wrist, kicking him in the stomach with a powerful leg, knocking the wind out of him.
The magic in his hand faded, and she pulled him down to the ground, pinning his hands behind his back and digging her knee right into his back.
"I refuse... To die here..." She panted.
Leona growled, struggling to get her off.
His head hit the ground pretty hard, and he could feel pain in his body.
The blot was getting to be too much.
She wouldn't budge, but she felt her body giving out...
She was exhausted..
Reign fell over on her side, panting.
That was the last bit of energy she had...
Leona sat up, "You... I commend your bravery... but now it's over..."
Before he could even do anything to her, he was hit hard by a wolf.
Jack had saved her life!
Leona seemed pretty out of it, too...
Slowly, the blot monster disappeared, and Leona fell to his knees,"I just.. wanted to be king..."
And with that... the battle had finished.
Finally.
.
.
.
.
.
It had been weeks since Leona's overblot, and Reign had gotten the proper rest needed.
Her arm was pretty messed up, so it was bandaged.
She wandered into the botanical garden, holding her sketchbook, searching for the perfect thing to draw.
Reign felt something under her foot, and a familiar growl.
Oh... not again...
She sighed, lifting her foot to see the same tail she'd stepped on a month ago.
Leona sat up, "You again..?"
"Sorry..." Reign huffed, knowing he'd probably wanna pick a fight.
"You gotta watch where you're going..." Leona sighed, lying back down.
The prefect was surprised, but she didn't question him, walking off.
Leona thought back on her words...
"Hey.."
Reign turned, looking at Leona, "Yes?"
"When you said... that you understood me... What exactly did you mean by that..?"
She smiled a bit, "I meant just what I said... Nothing more, nothing less. You're not alone in this world... That much, I can promise you."
Leona sucked in a quiet breath at her words.
He wasn't alone...
Someone finally understood him...
Just like that, Reign made her way further into the gardens, humming to herself.
Maybe the prefect wasn't so bad after all...
The end!

"From our side things look very different than they do from members' side. We only see what it's shown. And since the company has favoured Jkk moments over Tkk moments, that is what we see a lot. It feels unbalanced. But for the members, this is probably completely different. They have seen each other every day for hours at a time. They know what the real balance is like. So they don't judge situations the same as we do." Thank you! This is such an important point that a lot of people miss and I think fuels a lot of negative feelings people have. We as outsiders hyper focus on the ships and certain interactions, but that's such a small part of their lives. That anon making everything Jungkook does about how the fans see their relationships and by extension him being a bad boyfriend/friend because of it...I don't know if you have seen all maknae line solo stan communities but they all hate each other and project that hatred onto their faves as well, as in saying their fave actually hates the other members. Tae stans are dragging Jungkook constantly and using him as a punching bag during Tae's debut, there are definitely Jungkook and Jimin stans who think Tae feeds antis as well. It's all just bs fandom infighting and very little of it has to do with who they actually are and what their lives and relationships are like. And the fans take some of this stuff so seriously, spewing the most vile hatred and making threats against them for perceived injustices to the others through what are completely innocent and largely meaningless actions, and some turn their anger at the fans' behavior into anger at the members. It's a pretty messed up situation, and I don't know how I would navigate friend/relationships under that kind of scrutiny.
Also, thank you for actually mentioning one of my favorite Taekook moments and my number one moment if we're talking the kind that defy platonic explanation. The nape kiss at Citi Field gets largely overlooked and I'm not sure why, but one of the reasons it's so special to me is I was at that concert. It gives me some added context I think, because I can tell you that was not for the audience. I was in the stands and watching on the big screen monitors and all we saw was Tae and Jimin (and I have a theory that Jimin knew what Tae was planning) approaching Jungkook from behind, and then Jungkook looking kind of flustered and I was like "...what just happened?" 😂 It wasn't until I was back at my airbnb and talking to another friend who had been there when the first clips from the side of the stage started showing up on Twitter and we were going insane. They released a DVD/Bluray of that show, and you can confirm on there that the official cams did not catch that kiss and in fact you can see Tae watching the monitor and cameras as he approaches to make sure what he did cannot be seen. There's a very specific reason I think Tae did that, but I won't discuss it openly yet. Maybe someday. For me, that's the moment after two years of being a Taekooker where it went from 99% to a 100% for me that the relationship between those two is more than just friendship. The Bon Voyage season 1 cuddles/kisses still blows my mind as well. That really kicked off the Taekook drought in official content. That was the last year we saw just the two of them in a V Live together, and there not another one for four whole years and we all know they had chaperones in the room the next time. I've been thinking recently that if I was to make a Taekook top ten right now, those two moments and probably the "I love you" signs during the Chile concert where Jungkook was sick would be there...but the rest would probably be solo era/2023 because this past year has been full of hugely significant moments and I did not expect it. But looking back, it makes sense that in solo era, it is Taekook's bond that became more apparent than ever. Because they are involved in each other's lives in a very significant way that goes beyond members of the same band, or even friends.
Hi anon!
Thanks for the addition 😊.
I think they have a very complicated relationship with their fans in general, and with shippers especially. I don’t think they appreciate any shipping mentions in their lives for instance, not even the correct ones. It must be weird having people comment on your relationship and asking questions trying to bait you into giving a hint while you’re just there to talk about your music.
I really dislike what this has done amongst maknae line solo’s. It is also so weird to me to actually see fans talk about members hating each other. Hate is such a strong word, and is in general not actually a feeling people very often have about each other. So for fans to think any member actually hates another while there have been no signs of that is so out there.

Tsuyu’s Transformation
Tsuyu’s transformation did a lot with not that much animation and I wanted to talk about it, plus some of my thoughts on what her character could be like as a person who knows next to nothing about her lmao
First we start off with Tsuyu looking at withered crops. The orange sky is really striking here-- it brings to mind a barren landscape and it contrasts well knowing that she’s going to become a blue meguca (aqua type).
What I think is particularly interesting in this henshin is that Tsuyu is very passive in it. She’s just standing here in the middle of the field with her arms up and bunched around her chest. It’s the stance of one on the sidelines who desperately wishes she could do something but is unable. All she can do is watch.
She begins to cry. This leads into tears going down her face...
plopping onto the ground...
and from a small trickle becomes a large pool, able to feed the thirsty plants
There are a LOT of interesting little things you can read into this btw.
The first would be how it could potentially set up Tsuyu’s character. Again, I know almost nothing about her, so this could all be wrong-- but going off of the video, it makes me think she’s going to be very... pro-meguca, in a sense. As in, being a magical girl is a good thing. Look at this miracle she was able to make. All it took was her pain. She went from a person on the sidelines to a person who could save her home.
Additionally, I think it[’s a very good choice that it’s her tears that water the crops. This doesn’t actually require any effort on her part besides being in a rough situation and having a reasonable emotional response to it. It gives a potentially interesting push-pull-- on one hand she saved their village by caring, on the other hand it was her miracle/magic, not really her own actions that did so.
If this is the right direction of her character and I was a writer, I’d like to expand on her by involving her in situations where magic can’t solve anything. Caring and suffering are the start of change but not the end. What will she do if she comes across a problem that magic can’t solve?
Lastly, I think it’s also interesting that this last shot emphasizes the hot sun and the orange sky. The plants will survive and so will her people, but the actual problem that caused the drought still exists. It’s very ominous.
The yellow crops are so overpowering and magical in this image. Look at her shocked little face! She can’t believe what just happened-- or maybe she can’t believe that her miracle worked. Maybe she can’t believe that she was able to do anything at all?
She surveys her miracle. I like the satisfied little smile on her face. Then she turns,
and transforms into a magical girl, stepping away from the field.
This little bit is also very interesting to me. The yellow crops still overpowers Tsuyu and she’s relegated to a small space in the upper top-- the glow from the crops even outshines her own color scheme. This blue magical girl is very orange and yellow for the first part of her henshin.
I think it is also interesting that she looks at the miracle and then leaves, never interacting with it at all. It gives the impression that this is something sacred to be protected and that her work with it is done-- now she has a new job... as a protector of the miracle.
I’m not surprised by the end that she has this stoic little face and that she seems to be taking this ultra seriously. It looks like she’s going to be a stickler for the rules. It’s only now that she’s surrounded by blue.
Another interesting thing to consider is that she starts off in her purple kimono and then becomes blue through her transformation. Pretty standard, right? But... Blue like her tears? The implication is that she is water for the ground. A sacrifice to keep the place turning. After all, the focus isn’t on the tear-water pool. It’s on the field that magically stays alive. The water and the source of the tears can’t be seen after that.
--
I find the henshin as a whole pretty ominous. That overpowering orange sky is a great choice, and I think some of the shots look really nice. A lot of the recent transformations have been really, uhhh, showing how bad their budget is for this sort of thing. But imo you don’t need swimsuit mami-level quality to make a good transformation video, you just need to work with what you got. I think this tells a good story of what her character could be and I’m really really curious to see how much I got right.

State of the Funyun, 9/22/24
So Things Have Happened.
Two weeks ago I got called in to a meeting with my supervisor. The previous two times this has happened I've been threatened with being fired, so I was thinking "here we go" on the walk of doom. But strangely, no! I was offered to transfer to another job in the company that they thought might suit me better. Yeah, I know, "might suit me better" is code for "this is your last chance you failure". I'm not completely oblivious. Even I can see the writing on the wall when it's printed in 108pt neon orange.
I started learning the new job last week and I'm already doing real work. Like, actual real work. Correctly.
I'm being trained by the person who is getting traded to my old department for me and she's a former schoolteacher. I don't hide the autism, I told her when it was relevant. So I get treated like a third grader with getting interrupted to check on me a dozen times a day, which okay, I understand but the frustration at being interrupted when I'm concentrating is something I'm trying my best to control. She's a really nice person and she doesn't deserve that. Also I just don't like feeling like a putz. But I'm working again. After four months of feeling like I was going to be fired at any moment for not being given work to do, it's a vast improvement. No one likes to feel useless and even fewer people like to be made to feel scapegoated for other people's choices. But it is what it is, and I'm glad to be out of it.
Best of all about this new job, once I'm trained I'll be working from home. This is especially welcome as I'm proving less and less able to handle morning and evening rush hour traffic. After about a dozen close calls and near misses, my nerves are frazzled when it comes to driving in the hail of bullets that is rush hour traffic. Where is the shining future of autonomous cars I was promised?
Speaking of, there was a kerfuffle with the windshield wipers on my car lately. The motor that runs the wipers broke, so no wipers. We've been under pretty much drought conditions here at Tranquility House and the surrounding environs for quite some time, we just haven't been getting any rain hardly at all. Seriously, I can't tell you how many times I've seen the entire eastern part of the country covered in masses of storms ... except for this one little blob in SE Tennessee. It's like seeing the effects of some pissed-off wizard curse. Dude, I get you just washed the Audi but dang, have you looked at the lake lately?
Anyway, so because I drive a 17 year old car the repair shop had to order in the parts. Waited and waited, a couple weeks goes by, hot damn they're predicting rain! But! I can't drive in the rain because no wipers. No word from the shop, so I called. They were, shall we say, less than enthusiastic and no word when the parts would be in. I got lucky, it didn't rain as predicted, it still hasn't rained in fact, so no harm done. The part finally did come in, I had arranged to take my car in before I went in to work and use their shuttle service to go the rest of the way in to work. Their shuttles run at 45 minutes past the hour, it's literally 2 miles away, all good, right? Wrong! They just didn't run the shuttle at 745. Just didn't. Even though I'd arranged to take it that morning. And didn't bother telling me.
Yeah so I waited for half an hour and no shuttle so I called an Uber. For a two mile drive. I was almost late for work. My workplace is good about letting folks come in anytime between 6 AM and 9 AM, so it's all good, but I'm used to being there at 8. And was almost late anyway.
And that reminds me, the day before this happened I went to the doctor for the follow up of the two weeks of Adderall I was prescribed because my NP now thinks I may be ADHD. I thought she had prescribed me more Adderall, there was talk about upping the dosage so I thought she had but didn't get the automated "You have prescriptions ready" text from my pharmacy. I physically went to go check and nothing. So I dunno. Maybe she didn't because I told her I felt antsy about it because what if I get pulled over by the cops and I've got half a bottle of Adderall in my bag and it's not medically necessary because I don't have an actual diagnosis for ADHD yet. She told me she'd confirm to the cops it was needed if that ever happened but does anyone honestly believe the cops are going to bother with that? They'd just see another crackhead amphetamin addict and my life would be over. Once you're tarred with that particular brush you'll never get a job again.
If you're not just outright shot by the cops in another "traffic stop that went wrong."
Yeah, so on the whole things are looking up somewhat, call it cautiously optimistic.

Alright, this was originally one massive post in which I screamed into the void about various things. In the interests of maintaining some clarity, I’ve decided to split it up into a few separate screaming fits. To begin: what the everloving f*ck is going on with worldbuilding in the Forgotten Realms??
Ok, so. Some group projects have enough overlap between each contributor that the final product is nice and cohesive. And sane. The Forgotten Realms timeline very much does not meet that lofty standard. It's a disastrous patchwork of well-intentioned (I'm assuming) madness. Someone in there definitely understood how ecological pressures work, and the resulting population boom/decline that follows on from that. With added monster migration! And racism/anti-refugee rhetoric! Kudos to whoever that was. Of course, that scrupulous attention to detail mostly didn’t continue but it was still a nice touch. Also mad props to whoever came up with Thayan wizards essentially sending a Mongol Horde to invade Rashemen, over and over again. And then running into the folly of invading Russia Rashemen in winter. With predictable results. That gave me a bit of a laugh as I went insane over everything else.
(That said, my horrible inner environmental sciences nerd lost it a bit at the idea of massed cavalry hastily retreating across a recently Red Sea-ified lakebed. Protip: This would not go well.) ((Ha, also, on my first readthrough, I had it in my head that Rashemen was predominantly mountainous -- so why the hell were they bringing in cavalry that specialised in hit and run tactics a la the Fursan Unit. Those tactics require some nice big open spaces, like say, a desert. Or the plains alongside Lake Mulsantir, which I'd completely forgotten about lol Still, that's a pretty small part of the entire country, if they'd even managed to capture the city there's still all those pissed off berserkers up in the mountains...)) I kind of want to write a pseudo-historical tract about the Thayan campaign against Rashemen now. From what I gather, it was a glorious comedy of errors. And yet they kept trying!
There was the odd nod to the importance of trade/economics in that every time Dragonspear is embroiled in fuckery taken over by yet another group of Super Evil Bad Things, Waterdeep ran into shortages. And presumably everyone else along the Trade Way suffers to varying degrees until someone raises an army to go clear out the Hellmouth once more.
((Seriously, what the hell is up with Dragonspear?? Why is it forever Like This? It was even consecrated as a temple at one point, but that still wasn’t enough to halt the demonic shenanigans for more than a couple decades.))
Overall, it’s all very handwavy – massive drought in 1322? Cool, ok, thanks for the heads up that there’s a huge dieback of flora and fauna in basically all of Faerun. Now what?
Well, if we were being reasonable, the fallout would have been catastrophic:
Widespread drought means a failed harvest, a failed harvest means people are now eating their seed corn/wheat/whatever - assuming they even have that to spare. This does not bode well for the next harvest. A failed harvest means massive shortages of staple foods – bread, basically, for Westernized campaign settings, rice for whatever asian influenced countries Faerun undoubtedly has. Grain crops are very important.
In the cities that still have reserves of food, like all good medieval cities should, there would still be rationing and most likely massive price hikes on staples sold by third parties (merchants). What happens when the price of bread goes up? Historically, riots. A whole lot of riots.
In other news, mass flora dieback means that prey animals have nothing to eat, therefore a bigass population boom of predators is incoming – followed by a very messy drop off once the food supply runs out. Given that most of Faerun’s predators consider humanoids very much a part of their diet, that’s clearly gonna cause some problems down the line…
All this is a massive oversimplification but the key issue here is that this is happening over ALL OF FAERUN. A drought in one area is gonna suck for those people, sure, but they could import food - at a massive cost, admittedly - or there could be a huge migration of people out of the afflicted region. Distressing, yes, a powerful motivator for worldwide upheaval, yes. But still not a huge deal. But this is ALL OF FAERUN. A continent wide drought, even one lasting for just a couple years, isn’t a problem. It’s an extinction event.
It’s like they went,” rocks fall, everyone dies!” on the entire world and then it is never talked about again. This is the sort of thing that is driving me to madness. :D
I’m not saying there weren’t glorious high points in my research. Discovering that a prominent Neverwinter sorceress once died because someone literally dropped a dead dragon on her house was frankly incredible. But overall it just ends up being a whole lot of – And then this happened! And this happened! This other thing happened over here! There’s very few, if any, long term consequences that follow on from major events.
In the real world, things frequently happen because something else happened a hundred years before. Individual choice is just that, individual. One person choosing to do or not do a thing, while still influenced by cultural or societal pressures that have their roots in world events, is fundamentally an individual choice. When you start thinking in terms of wholeass countries, hell, a CONTINENT, things get a bit messier. And when you’re looking at an overall chronology of events in a specific region, there should be precedents having a greater impact on the course of history. You can't - or at least shouldn't - have an entire world where most, if not all, worldbuilding is treated as having happened in isolation.
At the very least, the world should have mostly ended in 1322. DUE TO DROUGHT.
((Of course then I wouldn’t have been able to write “1323 - Thay attempts widespread mind control, fails miserably.” in my official(ish) timeline, and that really would have been a loss.))

hello! o/ im a queer teenager from canada! i lead my highschool's gsa and am very active in the queer community around us. we raised $800 for the Trevor Project last year, raised $500 towards a chest binder breakroom at our school and are officially putting on the school's first all-age queer prom this may!
however, im very confused at the moment. i grew up in an atheist household and have never really found myself believing in God or anything religious. while i still dont think i believe ALL of it, lately ive been doing a lot of thinking after finding an old pocket bible that belonged to my great grandmother (she practically raised me but i never knew she was religious, she never mentioned it at all) and flipping through it and reading her flagged scriptures (i believe thats what theyre called, forgive me if im wrong), etc.
i then resorted to the internet and have been doing a bit of research and am now very conflicted about my feelings and beliefs. i now have moments where i genuinely believe there is something/someone divine out there. i find myself... almost talking to it, sometimes? i dont really know how to describe it. i even tried praying the other day for the first time in my life. (i probably didnt do it right if theres a proper way, but the point is i did it and i surprised myself.)
even though i have these moments, i still have times where i doubt it all. aside from the occasional joke, ive always done my best to be respectful of people's faith, but never saw myself believing until now. and when i say believe, like i said before, it isnt all of it. (like the creation of the world, etc)
i feel sort of fake in a way i dont know how to describe because of my conflicted feelings and how i dont believe everything. there are a lot of things i want to say about it but i really cant pull words from the emotions and i keep trying to. i also dont really have anyone in my life who i can talk to about this stuff. my family will not take me seriously and none of my friends and teachers are religious.
i dont know if you take asks like this, and its totally fine if you dont, but if you have any kind of advice it would be greatly appreciated.
sorry for the long ask, but thanks so much! hope youre having a wonderful day my friend
Congratulations for all you accomplish for queer students at your school! That's amazing!!!
That you find some aspects with religion resonates with you shouldn't be surprising or upsetting. Humans have been creating and practicing religions since before there was recorded history. There seems to be a need that is satisfied by religion.
In a broad sense, religion does 3 thing:
1. It provides an explanation for natural phenomena. Why is the ground shaking? Why did the sun go dark temporarily? Why is there a drought? Why is dad sick? Why did a hurricane pummel New Orleans?
2. Religions provide meaning to life. Religion provides answers for what is the purpose of life and what happens when we die. Religions are a vehicle for passing along the wisdom from past generations from hundreds and thousands of years ago.
3. Religion helps humans build community and encourages cooperation among those who believe. Religious belief also helps people develop self-discipline. Unfortunately, religions also have been used to define who is in a community and who is not, and this has led to a lot of harm and even wars
Beyond all these macro reasons, religion is experienced at the individual level. An individual prays and receive comfort and answers and feels a larger entity cares about them. Their faith gives them a purpose. They have a community that is meaningful in their lives. This is part of the truth of their lived experience and can't be easily quantified. It's what makes religion still relevant in the lives of many people today

Season 2 OPLA:
Now with season one OPLA done and the second announced I’m seriously considering trying out to be princess vivi (assuming season 2 includes alabasta) idk how but I’m going to find a way and I need help from anyone with information on how to actually go about this
Alabasta has and still is one of my favorite arcs for a multitude of reasons
1. I live in Arizona which if it wasn’t already known is a desert state. I’ve lived through droughts and seen in the years how water is treated as currency in my region. It’s dry and hot over 100 days out of the year with 100+ degree temps but I’m a desert girl at heart and always will be and I want to do what I can to keep this state from getting worse with climate change. The whole scheme from crocodile hit me hard (ngl he smart as hell to think of a plan like that) and felt so helpless alongside vivi.
2. When vivi was first introduced I knew there was more to her that met the eye and immediately connected with her story. I’m a sensitive girl and grew up wishing we could solve the terrors of the world by talking instead of fighting (obv the world doesn’t work like that) but still hoping it’d change if someone heard my voice.
3. When it comes to those I care about I get protective and almost self-sacrificing if it’s for the greater good. Like vivi I tend to shoulder everything forgetting about those who are standing with me (sometimes I just need a lil slap) to tell me I’m not alone in this fight.
4. When the strawhats are leaving alabasta and vivi calls out to them asking if they would call her a friend were they to meet again (I FELT THAT) I’ve lost many a friend wondering where I stand and if I’m even deserving of friends. Then that pause.. and they raise the x on their arms as a silent message that yes she does have a place with the strawhats even though she’s staying back to do her duty as a princess
- All in all it would be just an absolute dream an honor to bring her to life in the live action. Also I happen to look great in blue hair (I have photo proof too) and would not mind bleaching the hell out of it if it could help make this dream a reality.
So I’m asking no begging for advice or knowledge about the film/television industry like casting or whatever to get my foot in the door. I have nowhere to turn and I feel if I actually bring it up with anyone they’re just gonna laugh in my face.
I know this may seem like an impossible feat but if I learned anything from Luffy is to never give up on your dream.
✨🤍

Now that I'm thinking of Logan Lerman, I'm reminded of the movie 3:10 to Yuma, which I think is one of the greatest movies ever made. Also the most homoerotic film I've ever seen. So completely unexpected the depth of the dynamics between all the characters. I went in expecting mindless explosions and action, but wow, truly heart-wrenching the love quadrangle.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
Russell Crowe plays reckless, badass, lawless outlaw Ben Wade who pillages and robs towns mercilessly. Christian Bale plays goody two shoes rancher Dan Evans who assists in Wade's arrest. Evans seems at first motivated to bring Wade to justice by escorting him to the 3:10 to Yuma train, which will take him to jail, only by his need for money, but his true motives are much more emotionally complex. It turns out that his young son, William Evans, played by Logan Lerman, idolizes Ben Wade. He collects newspaper clippings of all Wade's activities and hides them like illicit pornos. He thinks Wade is the glamorous, sexy, badass rockstar of his time, and his dad is fully aware of this and wishes his son would feel such a way about him. William even defies his dad's orders to stay home and follows him and Wade for the journey. Perceptive as Wade is, he quickly catches on to the dynamic and says, "Your boy ain't protecting you. He's following me." Haha hot man knows he's got it going on.
We also have deranged, feral, obsessed, brimstone and fire in his eyes, Charlie Prince:
who is Wade's fanatically loyal right hand man who will literally blow up mountains to save his "boss." 100% his vibe:
Seriously.... all the men flocking around Wade are crushing hard on him:
Surprisingly, in the long ass journey to the train station, the men have campfire sleepovers, and hotel sleepovers and all these intimate conversations and flirty tussle moments from all the tension, "I like this side of you," says Wade with Evans on top of him... ohh la la... and Wade gets to know Evans more emotionally deeply than probably even Evans' wife. He learns that Evans made the sacrifice to stay on a dying drought-impoverished ranch to save his son's life from tuberculosis. His son is too busy worshipping Wade to be grateful for anything his dad does. And Wade sees how desperately and pathetically Evans tries to win his son's admiration and Wade becomes surprisingly sympathetic towards Evans. Wade's own father abandoned him, so Evans eventually becomes a sort of idealized father figure to Wade, the father he wish he had. And so now you have this mindfuck of emotions where son idolizes Wade, father wants to be Wade and Wade wants Evans to be his father and right hand man is screaming at every hotel room, "boss you in there??!?! You in there with another man?!?!?!?" OMG the tension.
THE ENDING
OMG THE ENDING
I don't think I can do it justice by putting it into words!!
JUST WATCH IT OMG
I ramble about it now..
Wade eventually is so won over by his new idealized father figure that he decides to help him become a hero is his real son's eyes. Wade decides he's going to made sure he gets on the train and that the son sees his father is the last man standing that brought this terrible outlaw to justice. His right hand man is not on the same page and has no idea of this secret fatherly bonding contract that has happened so he is still dead set on destroying everything in his path to his boss. In the last scene, we see Wade furiously charging towards the train, dodging the raining gunfire of his own men trying to save him and putting himself on the train. The son is watching voyeuristically. Probably wondering what super powers of persuasion his father must have to have made Wade willingly jail himself.
Then, just as Wade gets onto the train and turns around and has this heart warming moment with Evans, "you did it!" (totally like All Might saying to Deku, "you too can be a hero!" Just win the super villain to your side and get him to do all the work for you), fanatical right hand man mercilessly shoots Evans.
Son is horrified... this is real life... it's not cool like in the sensationalized stories.
Wade has just lost another father figure. He remorselessly kills his entire team of henchmen.
William runs to his dad and tells him he succeeded, he's a hero as his dad dies and then he points his gun at Wade, but it's like Deku trying to kill evil All Might and he can't.
Wade has "won." He can ride off into the sunset as these cowboy stories go. He's a free man. But he puts himself on the train and jails himself, his last hat tip to Evans and his last message to William of who he should idolize.
Beautiful.
Also I saw this and thought, totally the same vibe, totally:
YASS ✨

Mr. Here To Stay
Warning: contains adult languages. Minor, please do not read.
PART 2
You are sitting at your manager’s office talking about your performance this quarter, “with that, Y/N, I must say, the heads, including me, are impressed. You keep meeting expectations and exceeded them,” you blush as the Manager compliments you.
You: “ I-uhhh-thank you!” You blush even harder.
Manager: “We’re giving raise in your pay as well and might promote you.”
Your eyes widen, “R-really?!! OMG! I-I don’t know what to say, thank you!” You almost cry out of happiness.
The Manger reach out your hand, holding it firmly. With full sincere, “No, Y/N, thank you. You’re expertise help us a lot,”
You both giggle and had a small talk. After few minutes, you walk fast to your station.
N2: how was it?
You shriek out of uncontrollable happiness you feel, “they might promote me and give me a raise,”
They all wow and N1 hugs you, “I’m soooo very proud of you!!! How about a drink this weekend? Uh-huh?!!”
They all clamoring ‘yes’ and you agree. It’s been awhile since an alcohol run downs your throat and you miss the taste of bitterness in it. You haven’t taken a seat yet as the chatter continues. You are standing at your cubicle, half of your ass sitting on the table with your arms crossed.
N4 relaxing at ergo chair, "I’ve heard Dr. Marco have been blockbuster,"
You blink, oh, here we go again, you thought. You sigh in weariness but still continue to join in the conversation.
N1 nodded, "yeah, I bet my hubby’s have a very rough weeks." N1 said pouting.
You sigh, “really? Then that’s good! I mean, after seeing his signing bonus…”
N2 protested and even got seat up, "Oy! Have a little concern with the Dr., he’s human too, you know?!"
you fired back, "yeah right, it’s been what? Two weeks and everyday, I’ve been hearing his name. Everywhere. Like, literally! In the comfort rooms, canteen, hallway, even before I exit the hospital. Uggh-"
You roll your eyes.
N4 raising the coffee cup, "Well, he’s a doctor and he’s really has the look compared to the others and I think, single? That’s why girl around here is crazy about him,"
My eyes widen, "He’s not!"
N4 sips coffee and almost got choke but recovered. Their expression change like they see a ghost but you ignore it. Their body stiffen. You grab the paper on top of the box near your thigh. You flip the pages and stop at his resumé.
Looking at his resumé, "Look at him! Seriously?! Well---" you saaw again that pretty blue eyes which captivated you few weeks ago. You purse your lips. "--okay I’ll credit for his blue eyes because I really find it pretty," you finally admit it but you still don't agree the fact his handsome, "but... he looks like a pineapple! He’s not even that handsome!" Besides!" You aggressively flip the next page, it'll almost tear up, "And he didn’t even bother to check his marital status. Huh! This is a red flag, you know! He’s probably a playboy! Tss--" They are still silent after your burst and you notice N1 blushing, "Seriously, N1?Still like him?"
Suddenly, a sound of a pen clicks from your back. Then, a long arm comes in your sight, ticking the single box option in the marital status.
“I hope that satisfies you and your red flags,” He chuckles, “I thought my friends are just bullying me when they told me I look like a pineapple with my signature hairstyle. I guess they are not now. Aren’t we?”
You froze and processing what just happened. You figure out it was him. You felt drought in your throat. Your eyes slowly follows the white long sleeve and for a moment, both of you staring at each others eyes. Silence fill the air but your heart thumping out loud as you see his blue eyes. Your mouth half-open with the view. It's beautiful , you thought. Despite the negative comment your thrown to him, his eyes says otherwise. They are screaming positivity, which makes them even more beautiful.
No one dared to speak except from one, “Ah! Dr. Marco, it’s nice to see you here,” Your the first one who broke the longing stare. Hearing the footstep and familiarity of the voice, you knew it was your Manager who stood between you two.
Marco clears his throat and smiles at our Manager, “Hi! How are you? Yeah, it’s nice when you roam around and finally got a contrasting opinion, quite interesting, actually,” he grins while he throws a glance on you. Your sight fell down on the floor and praying the floor would suck you and send you to a different dimension.
Shit, Even though he didn’t drop your name, you know it’s you. You bit your lip and it seems like your muscle can’t move even an inch.
The Manager giggles softly, ” Well, as I can see, you met the star employee of our department,"
"star employee?" Marco seems to be interested. As he highlight the words, you feel more ashamed.
"yeah, Dr. Marco meet Y/N, the one will handle your department's reimbursements and payroll matters," Manager's body slightly directly to you, "Y/N, this is Dr. Marco, I presume you know him, right?"
You nod and forcibly put a smile on and look at him as if nothing happened, "Hi," you said in a low, soft voice which is the very opposite earlier.
"Hello, Y/N, it's a pleasure to meet you," he offers his hand which you immediately shake hands with him. His hand is big and incredibly warm which makes you comfortable. You're about to let go but he grips it tightly, "I'm looking forward working with you," he grins then he let go of your hand.
The Manager continues to formally introduce Dr. Marco to the other members but the doctor shares only his waving hand to them, "And that's all, my team,"
"They seem to be nice, especially, Y/N," your teeth grinds, you don't know if his being sarcastic, "oh, by the way before I forgot, here's the reimbursements from my department. I've already signed it for approval," He hands you the bunch of forms along with the receipts.
"Did you review this one as well?" You said in a unfriendly tone. The Manager nudges you, "I-I mean, of course, you approved it. Silly me. Don't worry, I'll process them right away," you smile plasticly, "Dr. Marco," you seat and try to focus on the monitor and acted to work.
----------
Your workmates went to a breaktime but you stay in front of the screen. Your mind keep coming back earlier and you feet guilty with the words you've said. Since the guilty is overpowering you, you gave up and stand up and go to the nearest bake shop.
As you open the front door, a cute little ring echoes, notifying the person in the shop that it has customer. You carefully check out the cupcake, bundt, doughnuts, breads, and other pastries. A staff approaches you with a cute pink apron, "Hi, what can I get you for today?"
"Uh--" Still undecided what to get for the Dr.,
"Is it for birthday?" The staff probe.
You shake your head no, "More of a...peace...offering?"
"Ahh-I see, boyfriend?"
"Uh no, more of a....co-worker?" You weren't sure about the right term.
"Then, Chocolate cupcakes are the best for peace offering in any kind of relationship,"
You smile, "I'd like to have one, please?"
"right away," The staff is busy tapping the cashier monitor and you pay as the staff at determine price. Since you have mentioned earlier that it was a peace offering, the staff really did a nice job at wrapping up the small cupcake. You even praise the staff for it.
You hurriedly get back to the office and look for a directory. You navigate the touch screen map located at the entrance of the hospital once you got the room to his office. You ran through the crowd. Upon arriving at the front door of his office, you catch your breath first and knock at his office door, "Come in,"
As your hand touches the cold door knob, you hesitate for a while. Nervousness creeps on your chest and having second thoughts of your action. But you are there already. You knocked and you said things to him, horrible one. You take a deep breath and open the door. You saw him busy looking at his whiteboard. You didn't let out a word, afraid that it might distract him so you sat in the chair quietly and watch him do his job.
You scan his room and you're pretty impressed with the neat and cleanliness despite being busy. You notice on the corner, a small coffee table with a picture frame on it. Being curious you are, you stand up and take a look at it. You grab the photo and saw two pictures divided in half, one is he's with a man whose way taller than him. Examining the figures, you guess. Maybe this is his father. Then, your eyes directed to the four men in a group photo. You inspect the picture and try to find the similarities between these men but minutes pass, you successfully failed. They all look different, one looks like a Japanese, the other two...you don't know but they have good looks as well then the last, it's him, "That's Izo, then Thatch, Ace - out little brother, and then there's me," an index finger pointing to each guy on the pic. You felt a comforting heat on your back and immediately turn around with the picture frame on your hand.
Dr. Marco was already at your back. There's not enough much space between you two. You have to lift up your chin since your height is only at his chest. You can also feel his warm breath on your skin, "so what brings you here?"
You too stun to speak as you see again those pretty blue eyes, "Uh...I...uhm..." You compose yourself, "I just wanted to hand you this," you lift your hand where the picture frame is.
He laugh which you find it a music to your ears, "Technically, that's mine but you do have a point though,"
"What?" your eyes bewilder as you see that you are offering him the picture frame, "Oh! no, not this one, sorry. It's this one," you barely lift the small bag, "but yeah--this one as well because it's yours, originally," you let out a small laugh. You rub your neck with the small bag on it. You realizes that it's kinda shitty, "Can I repeat again?"
He chuckles, "Yeah sure, you might want to give me the picture frame first," He offer his hand which you immediately give it to him.
You take a steps backward and prepares, taking a deep breath, "I'm sorry what I've said earlier. I-uhmm I shouldn't...judge you or said things...like that--" You can't keep an eye contact because those treacherous blue eyes is distracting you, "I mean, without knowing you, fully," there's a moment of silence, "here, my peace offering," you lift up the small gift bag while looking at him sincerely.
He smiles widely and accepting the gift, "Thank you, Y/N. That's thoughtful...and sweet."
You smile as well. There's still nervous but controllable now. You felt something lifted up from your chest, "I-uhm...gotta go now. I still have to work to do,"
"Understand. Thank you for this. I really appreciate it, Y/N."
You give him a last smile then go back to your department.

The one day of vacation I decide to log back in is the day the crumbs gods shower us with new Aemond pictures. Man, I really AM the luckiest person in the world huehahahaue.
I have so much fandom stuff to consume which will happen once I’m back from vacay in October, but oh my god. The leaks.
At first I thought those were edits - there’s something about the gradient of lighting or just my vision is terrible idk but I seriously thought those were edits where his face was ‘shopped onto clever edits of his costume and arms LOL.
I love how mature he looks, like that’s a MAN. (Sad cuz I can’t baby him anymore 😢). Also love the squinting in the bright light - ya boi still has a mashed potato faced, just more mature lol.
Also this is not body shaming of anything, but he really is super skinny, I don’t think he holds on to fat at all. The muscles look well worked on though so ✌🏻
Living for the fandom reaction to the pics. I hope we get more soon. The drought has ended yesss.
You're on vacation until October?!?! You lucky, lucky thing. I hope you are having the best time.
We got so lucky yesterday - not just crumbs, an entire LOAF. And Ewan is looking so good - his face has matured and you can tell he's been training hard for the fight scenes!

LMAOO tumblr really said f u…but glad it worked out either way but I seriously need to find a better system for remembering if I actually sent something in or not….hmm….
Anyways hope your flight was nice!! And omg NOO the migraine :(( hope it goes away soon! I wish I had some tips or remedies but I honestly can’t remember anything that was super effective…..
Karasu serving as usual!! No because the Karasu nagi content from epinagi lately is fire like thank you for saving us in the drought that is the PxG match!!
First rin now ISAGI I saw your post and oh my god I was kinda shocked but then again I think we’ve mentioned this possible scenario at some point before so maybe it was just a matter of time….bro atp you’re gonna be providing more content for Kiyora than kaneshiro is you might as well just adopt him as your oc LMAOOO (I think your blog really just has manifestation powers atp let’s just face it)
I’m genuinely laughing my ass off (needed to write it all out for emphasis) at the “karasu anon requests (any)” LMFAOOOOOO but PAUSEEE SINGING READER KARASU??? That sounds very interesting!!!!! WAIT A DAMN MINUTE CHERRY TREE PT 2??? Sign me tf up part one slapped so hard
Also wait riding lesson right when you got back from vacation WITH jet lag AND a migraine??? You’re truly built different I can’t even wake up at a decent time after traveling between time zones ok but Karasu bfb was a JOURNEY LMAOO I’m also never getting over that wc it’s insane
Shidou would go wild for Karasu’s sus comments LMAO adding Otoya to the mix would be so chaotic HAHAHA also someone needs to save yuki asap fr
LMAOOO Karasu truly the only thing holding PxG together esp since Loki probably does not care about the dynamics of the team beyond winning and Charles’ growth
Lukewarm is honestly the perfect word for it…but wait ok speaking did you see the chapter….because wtf….im ngl i still haven’t caught up fully with whatever happened after the yuta gojo freaky Friday but what just came out was wild
SHSHS thats actually so annoying….hopefully it gets resolved soon! Im not super well versed in the topic but have you looked into it being something like vertigo? Or is it till more likely the side effects thing? Either way hope that and your migraine goes away soon and doesn’t come back!!
Anyways I’m gonna go read your latest post and try not to convert to kaiserism (I probably won’t but it should prove for some more uhhhh clearheaded commentary (??) than if I was fully invested in the character too and not just your writing LOL)
- Karasu anon
FR like it all linked up and that’s what matters in the end 🤩 hm ik for me personally when i’ve finished smth and i have it in my notes app i put a little green checkmark emoji next to it?? so maybe once you’ve sent an ask in you could put a green check on the note or smth 🤔
icl the flight was kinda crazy my brother and i were judging the pilot HEAVILY because the landing was kinda bad 😭 we’ve both been flying since we were like 6 months old so we’re very used to planes and whatnot LMAOO we can even tell what went wrong…as soon as the guy started landing we were texting each other like “omg he didn’t descend enough in the air now he has to take the landing too high and he’s going to hit the runway too hard 🙄” “negative aura for the pilot fr” (second text was obviously my brother FJDKDJS he is nothing but a teenage boy through and through)
HAHAHA PLSSS no because i’ve always considered isagi boring because where is the angst potential?? but then i realized that he (and yukimiya who kinda falls into the same boat) are very very yuta okkotsu coded 😳 so like where the angst with characters such as karasu and nagi is the fact that the feelings are there but never quite acknowledged/understood in time, the angst with isagi and yuki and characters like that is that no matter how hard you cling to someone and love them there’s sometimes extenuating circumstances that just tear you apart and there’s nothing you can do abt it (ex all of the dying and whatnot that happened in pomegranate ink…like for the majority of the story reader and yuta are in a relationship but they just can’t be together because of the bs going on in their world) 😰 they’re definitely characters that work better in an au though because in a modern setting they are just too healthy and normal…okay also i’m realizing that me being bored by personality types that i’m supposedly most compatible with might have smth to do with why i’ve never been in a relationship irl 😓 JFKSKS
nah because watch me write a beautiful layered complex kiyora and then all of a sudden my little fun facts abt him appear in the manga or a possible ln 🤨 going to be raising some eyebrows and asking which of my followers is secretly kaneshiro at that point LMAOAOA
HAHA i’m probably going to give your idea posts special tags and then that way i can go back and reference them when i’m in dry spells!! but for now i’ll probably do one of the ideas from each post just so i can clear my inbox LMAOAO i’m going to have to go through and see which characters i’m feeling when i get to them 🤩 and yes the request is for a reader who’s good at singing but shy abt it!! it’s probably going to be on the shorter side (like the isagi ones) but yk my track record with saying that 😭 ALSO YOU HEARD RIGHT CHERRY TREE PT 2!! it’s going to take place when rin goes and finds the reader again after the world cup like he says he will 🥹 so much more of a time skip than instrument pt2 🫣 but i’m excited to write it!! rn i’m working on the nagi req because he’s #bae but cherry tree pt2 might be next 😳 trying to take a break from karasu so i don’t feel like i’m writing the same thing over and over LMAOAAO i’ve written quite a lot for him recently (aka bfb) so i’m switching it up and writing for other characters for a bit 🤩 i have not abandoned karasu nation though trust i will return just taking a second to do my duties to the rest of the fandom 🙏🏻
LMAOOO i’m always on my grind 😩 i missed the pony i ride so i had to go back fr 🙏🏻 tbh it was a struggle getting there but my lesson was pretty good so it all worked out in the end!!
THAT’S WHAT I’M SAYING like shidou and karasu are actually two peas in a pod it’s insane to me that no one else has picked up on their duo potential 😟 i need them to be besties and a trio with otoya would be insane JFKSDJSJ yukimiya needs friends fr 😭 like poor guy doesn’t even have a canonical bestie in bllk…i’m trying to think of people without a set “duo” that he could be paired up with 🤔 like kunigami has chigiri, isagi has bachira + rin + barou, reo has nagi, and most of the other characters feel like they’re too young to be super close with him (like hiori and all)…maybe gagamaru?? actually that would be crazy because apparently gagamaru thinks one of his strengths is his good eyesight and we all know what’s going on with yukimiya’s eyes 😓 i can’t think of anyone else who’s definitely staying in the manga that doesn’t already have a bff though 😟
yes i did see the new chapter!! honestly idk how i feel abt it…i think it was just done weirdly 🤔 like a lot of people are defending the situation and saying it makes sense/is supposed to be a shock factor thing and while i can definitely see the appeal of that it still doesn’t feel cohesive to me?? like okay she’s back in the last five chapters it just doesn’t sit well for ME considering how important she’s supposed to be 😕 i’m sure people will say i have no reading comprehension or media literacy or wtvr for thinking that but maybe i’m also just sensitive because she’s a female character so i think it’s annoying she was dead for most of the story and then suddenly she’s relevant again randomly?? like to me that is not how you should develop a character especially when you already are on such thin ice with writing women 😰 also again i can see the shock factor aspect but in my opinion an author should not be out to surprise their readers just to say “gotcha 😏” yk?? like if nobara was going to come back it should’ve been done in a way that felt more natural than her just randomly springing up LMAOAOA i’m not saying she should or shouldn’t have shown up earlier in the FIGHT just that it didn’t feel as exciting to me as it could’ve because it didn’t feel earned or deserved 😬 but this is top ten opinions i’ll never share in the public because the jjk fandom WILL jump on me and say i can’t read and blah blah blah 🙄 listen like i said idm her coming back it’s just the execution was off to me!! but also maybe i’d be more hype if i was still super into jjk like i used to be 😔 truly atp i’m just reading to keep up with it and know what happens…maybe one day in the future i’ll go back and binge read the whole manga at once and maybe it’ll feel much more cohesive then!! but we’ll see
sadly i have no clue what it could be 😓💔 but fingers crossed it resolves itself soon 😩 and EEK not kaiserism…i had a brief dip into it because he’s just very easy to write about in literally any au but he’s not a character i can stay passionate abt for very long LMAOAOA like he’s not rlly one of my favs even though i don’t mind him that much

Climate change isn’t real. Said no serious scientist ever. The overwhelming majority of experts agree: humans are causing our planet to heat up. But let's ignore all that, right? After all, who needs a habitable planet?
First, let’s talk about the main culprit: carbon dioxide. This gas, which we so lovingly pump into the air through burning fossil fuels, traps heat in the atmosphere. It's like wrapping the Earth in a giant, suffocating blanket. Nice, huh?
Glaciers melting? No big deal. Rising sea levels? Just more beachfront property, right? Wildfires, hurricanes, droughts? Nothing we can't handle. Except, of course, when they destroy homes, displace families, and wreak havoc on ecosystems.
The truth is, climate change is a crisis of our own making. Our addiction to fossil fuels is pushing the planet to the brink. Scientists have been sounding the alarm for decades, but apparently, we’d rather stick our heads in the sand.
Sure, some argue that the climate has always changed. And it has. But not like this. The current rate of change is unprecedented. The natural cycles that used to take thousands of years are now happening in mere decades. Coincidence? Hardly.
And let’s not forget the economic impact. Ignoring climate change isn’t just bad for the planet; it’s bad for business. Extreme weather events cost billions in damages. Agricultural losses, healthcare costs, and infrastructure repairs all add up. Funny how ignoring the problem won’t make it go away.
But don’t worry. There’s still hope. Renewable energy, sustainable practices, and innovative technologies offer a way out. But it requires action. Now. Because while we argue and deny, the planet keeps warming.
So, next time someone tells you climate change isn’t real, remind them of this: science doesn’t care about opinions. The facts are clear. And unless we take them seriously, the future looks bleak. But hey, who needs a livable planet anyway?

What happened to Syeda Zainab(s.a)'s two sons she left them in Madina.
Jaffar Ibne Abdullah.
Ali Ibn Abdullah..
Why Syeda Zaynab (sa) buried in Syria if she already returned to Medinah?
When Banu Abbas came into power the first thing they do against Ahlulbayt was the distortion of the scriptures, textual records related to the pious progeny as well they continued the leud traditions of Banu Ummayad too i.e, character assassination and distortions in the life stories of those personalities who where directly and indirectly related to the issue of Karbala and it's aftermath.
In this context, we can easily understand why the life stories, biographies or the few most important personalities like Syeda Zainab(sa)
Umm Kulsoom(sa) her daughter and mother Fizza (sa) and Fatima Kubra (s.a) are still controversial and contradictory.
Now moving to the question, the answer is based upon two acceptable quotations from different sources.
- She left because of drought conditions.
- She left because of 'exile'.
Seriously, I am not supporting the first reason though there are many incidents recorded in history-making this reason genuine still, there are some complications which arise few questions that were it was the first drought of Medinah that no one was there unable to survive in that?
Why Syeda Zaynab was the only one who was suffering such problems with that drought though Imam Sajjad (as) and his household were present in Medinah?
Second reason is quite genuine and authentic that after the battle of Karbala there was a fear of uprising from Medinah was seen as many of the people were not aware about the atrocities of Yazid in Karbala. But after the Martyrdom of Imam Husayn (as) everything was changed and many people from Medinah etre trying to create rebel against Yazid and in this juncture they throw away the assigned governor of Yazid.
Yazid in order to suppress the rebellion which was resulted after the sermons and speeches of Syeda Zaynab (sa) in Medinah sent a troop to suppress it. He dispatched a big army with Haseen bin Numayr and ordered the de facto incharge of his chair in Medinah to exiled few personalities especially Syeda Zaynab (sa).
Syeda Zaynab(sa)left Medinah towards Cairo under the supervision of her husband Abdullah bin Ja'far.
only her two sons were in Madina. Ali bin Abdullah left Medinah after heavy persecution and got buried in Iran Meanwhile Ja'far Ibne Abdullah (second son of Syeda Zaynab (sa) was sentenced to death with Abu Saeed Khudri and Abbas bin Utabah from Banu Hashim. Narrations says that Ja'far bin Zaynab was hanged to death by Yazeed's army.
This is the exact reason to which we can say Syeda Zaynab (sa) left for Cairo with her daughter Kulsoom (sa). Though if we can imagine how sad and unbearable it was for Syeda Zainab (s.a) that she left Medinah once again in such a condition that the entire city was torn apart by Yazeed's army and her son Ja'far(as) was hanged to death.

Preserving the Flow: A Water Conservation Crusade
Definition of: Story, tales, science fiction.
Story: connected series of events told through words (written or spoken), imagery (still and moving), body language, performance, music, or any other form of communication (Literary Terms, 2018). In a story you can talk about anything, be it real or imaginary; covering both fiction and nonfiction; and leaving no topic, genre, or style untouched.
Tales: A tale is a story, often involving magic or exciting events (Collins Dictionary, n.d.). The tale places more emphasis on actions and results than on character, which is the chief focus of a short story. Furthermore, tales are more casually constructed. consequently, tales are far looser in terms of plot and structure.
Science Fiction: Also known as SF or sci-fi, is a form of fiction that deals principally with the impact of actual or imagined science upon society or individuals (Sterling, 2023). The genre began in the West, where the innovations brought by the Industrial Revolution first led writers and intellectuals to imagine the future impact of technology.

Former Memory: Fixing the present, saving our water
Drought, bleak, and dried trees, these were the normal things to see in Guayaquil in the year 2063. Every time someone tried to come up with questions or complaints, the government turned them down. As a result, people stopped caring about the water crisis that was my case as well, my name is Leonardo González, and in my 58 years of age I didn’t really care about conserving water.
However, that all changed when one day, when I was going to water some of the plants in my patio, the hose simply didn’t work. But it wasn’t just that my hose broke down, my faucet and everything related to water stopped working in my house. With this in mind, when after a week water still didn’t seem to appear anywhere, I knew something didn’t add up.
Therefore, it wasn’t long until people took notice. Factories, Restaurants, communities, even my favorite cafe could no longer work without water. Chaos sure ensued, and no longer after my best friend, a famous scientist called Carlos Lopez contacted me.
“Leo, I need your help! don’t ask questions just come to my house” Carlos texted
“What happened? Is it related to the water crisis? I asked
“Yes, I have no time to explain. Just come” He responded seriously
Following this, Carlos explained to me his solution to the problem that we were facing, a time machine. However, he had to be the one looking after the machine, so he needed me to be the one going back to the past to try to fix the problem.
Unquestionably, I accepted, and I went back to the past. I figured out that people wouldn’t just believe me with my words, but I had to show them proof of the consequences of not caring about water. For that reason, I brought a lot of photos of how Guayaquil looked now with the current water crisis.
Now in the past, I used the photos to make conscience of the aftermath of not caring about preserving water. I didn’t give up on the people that didn’t believe me, so to deal with them I showed proof that the images were not altered in any way and also pieces of news reports from the future. Consequently, people began to take my warning seriously, and the government began to take several actions in order to preserve water.
Finally, when I returned to my present, Guayaquil was as beautiful as when it was in 2023, because people treated water with the respect it deserves as our vital liquid. By taking action before letting the consequences happen, we saved our planet.

The yellow bird and The white bird_Part4
Spring has passed, and summer has arrived. The weather is getting hotter each day. The golden bird feels increasingly lazy, not wanting to do anything except lying on the lush green grass and counting the gusts of wind. Today, he counted three gusts of wind! That's the most in the entire week; the past few days didn't even have a single gust of wind. Therefore, the yellow bird is in a very cheerful mood today. He stretches out on the grass and hums a silly tune, "la là lá la," dreaming of a sumptuous dinner with all sorts of worms and grubs. Oh, life is so beautiful. And while deeply lost in these pleasant thoughts, a suddenly loud voice jolts it back to reality, "That's so frustrating!" The yellow bird furrows its brow slightly, lets out a sigh, and thinks to himself, "Here we go again."
The yellow bird slowly opens its eyes and immediately meets the sight of the white bird fluffed up, looking very angry. The yellow bird chuckles and asks, "Who bothered you this time?" The white bird, still upset, turns back to the yellow bird and says, "You're still laughing? I just got picked on!" The yellow bird stops its mocking laughter and seriously inquires, "What happened? Who picked on you? Calm down and tell me."
The white bird recalls the recent incident, "This morning, I encountered the Green Parrot, the Nightingale, and the Flamingo. They were engaged in a very lively discussion, so I flew over to listen. It turns out they were debating a riddle they heard from humans, 'Which came first, the egg or the chicken?' The Green Parrot confidently stated, 'Obviously, the egg came first. Chickens hatch from eggs.' I immediately countered, 'But where did the egg come from? There must have been a chicken before it laid the egg.' The Green Parrot retorted, 'Then where did the chicken come from? Eggs come first, and then they hatch into chickens.' I argued back, 'You don't understand at all. How could eggs suddenly appear on Earth? Someone must have brought them here.' The Green Parrot disagreed, 'You're the one who doesn't get it. How could chickens appear on Earth? Chickens must hatch from eggs.' After that, the Green Parrot and I continued to argue, and in the end, neither of us could determine who was right or wrong. But it's clear that chickens came first. How could there be eggs before chickens? Don't you think that's correct?"
Upon hearing this, the yellow bird could only burst into laughter and said, "So, this is what you meant by being picked on?" The white bird, still annoyed, replied, "Exactly! He didn't listen to me, and he acted as if I were the foolish one."
The yellow bird spoke slowly, "Actually, this question doesn't have a definitive right or wrong answer." The white bird asked in surprise, "How can there be a question without a right or wrong answer? If it's a question, there must be a correct answer and a wrong answer." The yellow bird composedly replied, "There are some issues without clear-cut answers; we can only look at them from various perspectives. For example, like what your friend, the Green Parrot, said – the egg came first. It's possible that millions of years ago, a species that wasn't a chicken laid an egg, and from that egg, the chicken species developed. Or, as you said, perhaps millions of years ago, a chicken-like species existed, but not the exact chicken we see today. Over generations, this species gradually transformed and evolved into the chicken we know. We can't know for sure." The white bird began to calm down and reflect on what the golden bird had just said.
The yellow bird continued, "I remember when I was young, my father and my uncle used to argue loudly. It was a very hot summer, much hotter than now, weeks went by without rain, the trees were dry, and it was rare to find a worm or an earthworm. My father tried his best to find food and store as much as possible, because he said we didn't know how long this drought would last. We should eat sparingly, only enough to avoid exhaustion, not waste, and not eat too much during this time. My uncle had a different perspective. He said this wasn't the first summer we had experienced, every summer was hot and had little rain, yet we survived. If we ate cautiously like my father suggested, sooner or later our family would exhaust itself before anything else. At first, my father disagreed with my uncle and argued back. My father said my uncle couldn't see beyond the present, while my uncle accused my father of only troubling the trouble before the trouble troubles him."
The yellow bird paused and turned to the white bird, asking, "Who do you think was right? My father or my uncle?" The white bird hesitated and said, "I… I don't know. I think both had valid points." The yellow bird smiled and continued the story, "Eventually, my father stopped arguing with my uncle. I asked him why, and he replied, 'Son, I realized both your uncle and I had our reasons, our own perspectives.' I asked again, 'So who is ultimately right or wrong, Dad? If the weather remains hot and dry for another 1-2 weeks, and my uncle's family runs out of food, would that mean you were right?' My father looked at me and said, 'Do you hope I'm right? Do you hope your uncle's family will suffer due to lack of food?' 'No, I don't,' I innocently replied. My father continued, 'You see, in a debate, it's not always necessary to argue about who's right or wrong. I don't want to see your uncle's family suffer just to prove my point. Neither can I change his perspective, nor can he change mine. Instead, your uncle and I are learning to respect each other's thoughts. If the dry season continues and your uncle's family lacks food, I will help within my capacity, and I believe your uncle will do the same.'"
After finishing the story, the yellow bird turned to look at the white bird and said, "Do you understand now? There are questions and issues that have definitive answers, like cows having four legs and living on land, elephants having trunks, a year having four seasons, etc. But there are also matters where we simply have different viewpoints. Instead of trying to argue about who's right or wrong and causing harm to each other, isn't it better to learn to respect each other's perspectives?"
Upon hearing the yellow bird's words, the white bird turned and left.
Perplexed, the golden bird called out, "Where are you going?"
The white bird replied, "I'm going to apologize to the Green Parrot. I was a bit hot-headed earlier. I don't want to make him sad, and I want to keep being friend with him."
The golden bird smiled and said, "Fly safe!"
