I literally woke up in the middle of the night like God will dark rise is so fucking screwed. The line that’s like. “Everyone wanted to kill the Dark King.” What’s the part where he looks at Violet helplessly, haunted, almost pleading for mercy? But of course he reveals nothing of substance to anyone. Elizabeth is too young to understand but the reader knows what “Her relationship with that boy was…unnatural” can mean. Tying him to bedposts? Failing to strangle him? What else? Never not even once seeing beyond a mythological identity Will himself didn’t know he had? What did he think was the reason? That he was just intrinsically hateful? Of course he says nothing. Of course Violet can’t trust him- he’s given her nothing as painfully real as what she’s given him. So he gives her the sword hoping at least he can die at the hands of someone he loved, but even that doesn’t work out - she gives the sword to a Visander still furious at SARCEAN. The pattern continues; no one looks at Will, who vomits when he realizes what’s happened to James, Will who is much of a liar and killer and sneak as Elizabeth accuses but nonetheless wants to be different. Even when he doesn’t remember his own past. There’s no way out for him that doesn’t hurt. Hope this obsession passes soon given the one and a half years of waiting required for book 3

That ask Cassie answered about how Ty's relationship with Anush is affected by the fact that Ty can't tell him about Livvy who is a huge part of his life just made me so sad firstly because I want Ty to be able to confide in his bestie but also it made me think that in TLKOF, Kit will be one of the only people in the world Ty can be completely honest with whereas Kit can't be because Ty doesn't know he's the Heir yet 😭😭😭

Honestly I think crocodile/dragon and crocodile/Doflamingo are only interesting when treated as failed relationships spinning off into increasingly petty grudges and instigations. Become a warlord to piss off one ex by working with his hated father only for the OTHER ex to ALSO become a warlord to drive you insane. Etc.

I am now going to take his as an opportunity to rant about Dragodile because I unironically think it's an interesting ship if Crocodad Real and I don't think I'm ever going to find a better excuse to rant about it unprompted lmao SO HERE WE GO

A marine and a pirate falling in love with each other is already some starcrossed lovers kinda BS. But then it's like, a FORMER marine and pirate who is WORKING FOR THE GOVERNMENT. That's EXTRA JUICY, it adds layers to the starcrossed lovers shit, and I am not immune to it, it's FACINATING, like what was the dynamic here

But also we don't even know when Dragon left the marines and when he and Crocodile first met, so for all we know it could've been some real enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies shit AND THAT'S SO INTERESTING

(Also the mere concept that Dragon could've been chasing Crocodile around kinda like Smoker tried to chase Luffy, only for Crocodile to become a Shichibukai and Dragon having to give up because they're on the same side now (kinda). Like. That is so fucking funny. And then he leaves the Marines to start a revolution. Or just out of spite dshgjdgs)

Then there's the absolutely hysterical part where Crocodile is the meanest, most intimidating, standoff-ish asshole around. So the idea Dragon was fucking into that is INCREDIBLE. THIS MAN LIKES BEING BULLIED DFSHFKGHFGJHDS (It's possible Young Croc might've been less mean but it's funnier if he wasn't)

And yeah. Somehow. In complete secret. A romance blooms.

And then there's a baby.

And Crocodile transes his gender.

And there's a divorce.

And 17 years later Crocodile has commited dozens of unforgivable warcrimes that are almost exactly the kind of things Dragon wanted to stop the government from doing to begin with.

Mind you, I don't actually think there's coming back from that, this relationship was burned to the ground and the ashes blown away by wind, there is nothing left

But could you imagine if despite the anger and the hurt and the warcrimes they still somehow loved each other

ppl act as if habit is abusing vinnie 24/7 and Is constantly torturing him AS IF VINNIES WHOLE ISSUE WITH HABIT IS THE FACT HABIT DOESN'T EVEN ABUSE HIM ENOUGH. Vinnie and habit are supposed to be domestic, Vinnie is supposed to rely on habit for everything, he's supposed to think about habit when he thinks about comfort and safety bc that's what habit WANTS. Habit literally continuously tells Vinnie that he's protecting him and to never leave him. I mean it's literally to the point where Vinnie thought the world would LITERALLY COLLAPSE if he left habits side. like they have A FUCKED UP RELATIONSHIP ALREADY!!! there's no need to make habit do more shit he never did.... like we have this information right in front of our faces...

Like idk guys when you write x readers you WILL have to deal with the fact that habit and Vinnie have a weird codependency thing going on and habit literally does not want Vinnie going anywhere and only wants Vinnie with him. that demon you want has a very special pet human and you should show him some RESPECT

Dudeeee I can’t get over that mesa/desert segment. In 3rd Life, Scar leads Grian to the desert based on Grian’s guilt after a joke gone long, and the desert becomes their home. Here, they’re together on a camel, heading for a similar but different biome. They discover the desert together and crack jokes about another desert so long ago, Scar taking the cactus before Grian can grab it but ultimately gives it to him and both of their voices are so fond?? They part ways, but there’s no bitterness or resentment. There are no comments on the hurt between them in past seasons. Both Scar and Grian have silently forgiven the other, and this tiny desert tucked away in the mesa serves as both a blank slate and the ability to look to the past without drowning in it. Whether or not they team this season, they’ll be okay.

they’re on a camel (one grian WILLINGLY jumps on). first it’s the red sand. and then it goes into regular sand. and there’s cacti. and grian and scar are just giggling together. they’re laughing and making jokes. and they reference the past but it’s good.

AND THE MOST INTERESTING THING!

neither of them have joined any groups. they’ve both ended with their own base. their own location.

and it just… really sticks out to me. I hope they fall into some kind of alliance. I hope they end up working together and things are good.

I did feel for Rain’s friendship trajectory this episode. He had multiple shockers in succession, and probably felt like a really bad friend to boot.

1. Sky’s ex is a guy. This is news to Rain, who had no idea about Sky’s sexuality. On top of that Prapai makes it crystal clear he intends to pursue his BFF. I thought that Rain had begun to tweak when Prapai asked for Sky’s number and proceeded to turn up outside their university. But clearly not.

2. Sky’s “son of a bitch” ex. Due to the little he knows, Rain was completely unaware of the minefield he walked into by mentioning Sky’s ex. Rain proceeds to hangs his head in shame like a wounded puppy when Sky scolds him. This reveals to Rain that Sky’s previous relationship was not a happy one. I also imagine that Sky isn’t often blunt towards Rain like that (if ever), as he looks visibly taken aback.

3. Sky falling very seriously ill. Rain is thrown by how unwell Sky is and how he attempts to push through it. Rain must be both worried and guilty (yet again) that they have been working closely with him for days and didn’t pick up on anything amiss.

4. Sky refusing proper care. Sky insists on being taken home to recover rather than in hospital. This is clearly someone who requires supervision. Rain would do it himself but has work to do, and so tries to find the next best alternative. Rain takes a punt in entrusting Prapai, though is evidently very hesitant and conflicted about this. He already feels bad enough, and does not want to leave his already vulnerable friend in the hands of someone he doesn’t trust.

I do still believe that Payu has probably vouched for Prapai’s character behind the scenes. And that the inner conflict Rain has whilst handing over Sky’s keys is also because of everything he’s discovered about Sky of late, causing him to feel particularly guilty and therefore more responsible for ensuring Sky will be okay. He doesn’t trust Prapai quite completely (yet), but in a way this is a test to see if Prapai can be the real deal for his friend.

Rain probably feels terrible on multiple levels. For not knowing these things about Sky. For Sky not feeling comfortable to share these things with him in the first place. For not picking up on any signs himself regardless of Sky choosing not to disclose anything. For validating his worst critiques of being a bit ‘dumb’ and ‘slow’ on the uptake.

I think Rain will play a bigger role in ensuring Sky moves towards a happier place as he’ll want to make amends and prove his worth as Sky’s best friend.
