Jenna Coleman as Marie-Andrée Leclerc in The Serpent 101

-- Well-known in Mondstadt among the patrons of its bars, and probably has had a few run-ins with the Knights of Favonius because of how he doesn't pay his goddamn tabs or pay back money he's been lent. Still, he's not disliked, and in fact has quite the rapport with many of the people he has met!
-- Identity is influenced by the Shakespeare character Oberon and records of his myths brought over from a different world. How did they end up in Teyvat? Well, Alice brought them over, probably... Still, he's cursed, everything he says becomes a lie, and he yearns for the fictional Titania. Not too different from his canon here.
-- probably more I need to keep thinking and reading more genshin lore to figure out how I can fit him in
First thoughts for Genshin Obie:
-- King of Fairies from a small, secluded forest near the Mondstadt area. The fairies in question are extraordinarily weak ones and he's only a "king" because they decided to call him their king, and he too bills himself as someone without much fighting ability. Anemo Catalyst user, he fights using weapons made of dead insects. Vision is fake and he wears it for appearances. He's not an Allogene.
-- True identity is the Insect of the Abyss/Abyssal Worm, an entity who, if completely unleashed, can destroy Teyvat in a planetary and conceptual collapse. Not an understatement. Nobody knows this except Oberon, and his main goal is to unshackle it so that it can destroy everything.
#ooc ramblings.#serial fraudster obie#still conflicted between anemo and dendro for him#but his true form as obevort outright uses the abyss element#picks him up by the scruff of the neck and offers him#quieres?

Matt Gaetz, Trump's former nominee for US Attorney General, is out of work. He resigned his House seat in the 118th Congress and won't take his seat in the 119th Congress.
So he needs some income to pay for typical expenses like food, housing, and hush money. For now, he's raising money by offering his services on Cameo.
The Florida Republican Matt Gaetz has made his first big move since withdrawing from consideration to be Donald Trump’s attorney general – by starting an account on Cameo, the website that lets ordinary people pay for video messages from celebrities, dubious or otherwise. The news website Semafor first reported the move on Friday. The revelation came a day after Gaetz withdrew from the confirmation process, under fire over a House ethics committee investigation of allegations of misconduct including allegedly paying an underage girl for sex – all of which Gaetz vehemently denies. “I served in Congress,” the page said, the past tense pointing to Gaetz’s resignation last week, pre-empting release of the ethics report, and announcement on Friday that he would not seek to return next year. “Trump nominated me to be US attorney general (that didn’t work out),” the page said. “Once I fired the House speaker.” [ ... ] Cameo offers users a chance to pay for messages to mark holidays, say happy birthday, send a pep talk, get advice, ask a question or, perhaps appealing to fans of Gaetz, to “roast someone” with pointed abuse. [ ... ] On Friday, Gaetz began by charging $250 a video but soon raised that price to $500. One social media user noted that Gaetz was thus charging “about the same rate as George Santos” – the serial fabulist, admitted fraudster and elected Republican who turned to Cameo amid the scandal that saw him expelled from Congress last year.
Making money by offering services online is not unusual. But in the case of Gaetz, OnlyFans seems like it would be a much better fit.

"The Hands of Orlac"
This photo from a expressionist movie directed by Robert Wiene, under the title "The Hands of Orlack". Is a 1924 Austrian silent movie, it's based on the book by Maurice Renard, under the title "Les Mains d'Orlac".
This is very good movie (like all those directed by Wiene), it have a frightening style and disturbing moments, that stimulate the imagination. For such an old film that is an expressionist horror it is really well done and thought out. The appearance of the characters and the disturbing thoughts and visions that Veidt sees in the film are brilliantly done and really allow you to get into the plot. the script is also well done, apart from the fact that it is based on a book, I really liked the plot of how Paul Orlac (Conrad Veidt) did not recognize his hands and how he reacted to the fact that he now has the hands of a fraudster and a thief. Of course, the actors also played very well: Conrad Veidt, Alexandra Sorina, Fritz Kortner, Carmen Cartellieri, Hans Homma and other.
I have no reservations about the film, it is brilliantly made, like many of Wiene's films. It is definitely worth your attention and watching, especially since it is another expressionist work of the 20s. I recommend watching it with attention and getting into the role of the titular Orlac.
time for a summary
The shocking story of a pianist who, after losing his hand in a train crash, is "gifted" by an experimental surgeon with the hands of a famous serial killer. The artist, tossing and turning in madness, desperately tries to fight the limbs that drive him to crime.

Musk hired spies to surveil his critics and girlfriend.
Highlights:
"One of those critics is Vernon Unsworth, who sued Musk in 2018 for calling him a "pedo guy" on Twitter. A new Tortoise investigation reveals that the scale of surveillance used against Unsworth was greater than previously known: Musk used at least two sets of private investigators, both of which used deception to try to gather information."
"Musk deployed private investigators to follow a Tesla employee "24 hours a day". A former security operative at Tesla alleges the company also hacked into the employee's phone. Other whistleblowers also allege that they were followed."
"Unbeknownst to Unsworth, Musk's tam then paid about $50,000 to a private investigator called James Howard-Higgins to dig up dirt on Unsworth. Howard-Higgins promised that he would go through Unsworth's bins, pose as a charity worker to get information, and infiltrate his partner's Facebook page.
No due diligence. A Google search would have revealed that Howard-Higgins was a fraudster, jailed in 2016 for stealing from his own company. As the US trial, which Musk won by portraying his Twitter comments as a joke, his team portrayed Howard-Higgins as a one-off. In fact another investigation firm called Orion was also tasked with getting information on Unsworth. Emails show how Orion emailed one of Unsworth's friends, telling him, incorrectly, that they were "working on behalf of Vernon"."
"Musk allegedly placed his former partner Amber Heard under surveillance in Australia having become suspicious that she was cheating on him.
Around the same time a local newspaper received an anonymous tip that an Aussie Rules footballer was "spending many nights at Amber Heard's house" and "leaving early in the morning looking like the cat that swallowed the canary".
The paper traced the message to SpaceX, one of Musk's companies.
When one of its reporters spoke to Musk, he accepted that someone close to him had sent the tip but claimed it was done without his knowledge.
"My personal belief is that [Musk] definitely sent it," says the reporter, Sally Coates."
I've seen other outlets claim that Musk used infrared technology to spy on Heard's home and detect any movement inside, but can't confirm this from a source I consider credible.
Anyway, reminder that Muskrat is a serial domestic abuser and sexual predator as well as a fascist, that his supposed support for "free speech" (as always with the Right) just means "freedom for me to say whatever I want with no consequences, and no one else has freedom to disagree with or criticize me", and that how he conducts himself in his private life and in his businesses is mirrored in his goals for society as a whole.
Also, that this "genius" is so incompetent that he couldn't even use Google for two minutes before hiring a convicted con man.
(Addendum: I know a lot of people have accused Tortoise Media of being part of some grand Right-wing/transphobic conspiracy, but so far as I've found that's mostly desperate Neil Gaiman fans trying to make out that the accusations against him by multiple unconnected women, that he partly admitted to and others in the industry corroborated, are a vast Conservative conspiracy to frame him for being pro-trans. In other words- ridiculous and misogynist. Tortoise has some credibility issues of being fairly new, without much of an established track record and, like many major media outlets, having big business money behind it. But also, far Right psy-op outlets probably aren't inclined to write detailed exposes on Elon Musk and the Saudi Royals.)

Britain's Outlaws: Highwaymen, Pirates and Rogues
Episode 3: Rogues' Gallery
"BBC documentary series. In the final episode, Dr Sam Willis looks at urban crime, fraud and corruption in the 18th century, uncovering a fascinating rogues’ gallery of charmers, fraudsters and villains. Charmers like thief and serial escaper Jack Sheppard, so notorious that almost a quarter of a million people turned up to witness his hanging. Almost as controversial in her lifetime was Mary Toft, a fraudster who managed to convince no less than King George I and his surgeon that she had given birth to rabbits, making her, perhaps, the original 'con' artist."

Another ewanverse ask: mix up the ewanverse guys and drop them into one another’s stories. Who goes where and how well does it work out for them?
Secondly, because I think it would be fun. What’s the best au for each character? Which au would they thrive in most? Which one would they do the worst in?
I would drop Abraham into Osferth’s world. I think he’d do quite well as a blacksmith in the Saxon age. I think he’d be great in a post apocalyptic AU, as he has good practical skills for survival. Would do worst in a regency AU, because he’s ill mannered.
I’d place Aemond into Michael’s world. His love of academia and snobby attitude would mean he’d fit right in at Oxford. He’d suit a vampire AU, as he has the cunty vampire vibes. Would struggle in a sci fi setting because he’s never encountered any form of technology.
Billy Taylor I’d put into Billy Washington’s universe. I think he’d love video games and mucking around on the internet. He’d be best suited to a regency AU, as he’d make the perfect unlikely but absolutely adorable love interest. He’d struggle in a horror AU because he’s soft hearted.
Billy Washington I’d drop into Genyen’s world, because I think it would do his ego some good to bring that little fraudster to justice. He’d suit a serial killer AU best - he’s got those sad boy/falsely accused vibes. He’d do worst in a zombie/post apocalyptic AU. His survival skills are shit.
Ettore - would thrive when dropped into Aemond’s world. I can imagine him being a Ramsay Bolton type character. Would suit a horror/serial killer AU best. Would be horribly suited to anything that’s centred around romance.
Genyen - should be placed into Ettore’s world, as he’s a criminal. Would suit a sci fi AU, can imagine him being some sort of thief/pirate in out of space. Would not suit a medieval AU. He’d have his hands chopped off for thieving.
Michael - would fit in quite nicely in Aemond’s universe; can imagine him fitting right in in the Citadel, due to his intelligence. Best suited to a sci fi AU, due to his love of maths and physics. Would stick out like a sore thumb in any AU where there are mythological creatures - “tHeRe Is No ScIeNcE tO sUpPoRt ThIs!!”
Osferth - would fit in in either Tom or Billy T’s universe, as he’d make an honourable war hero. Best suited to a modern AU - imagine something similar to the priest’s storyline in Fleabag. Woof. Would suffer in a slasher/horror AU, as he’s too pure for all that.
Tom - would fit right in in Abraham’s world, he’d be well up for drinking, fighting and wielding an axe. Best suited to a horror/slasher AU - imagine him taking on the role of secret serial killer boyfriend - yes, please! Would not do well in a medieval AU, his attitude would get him into trouble, as he doesn’t respond well to authority.

Janked from a Redditor
Trump is the protector against the Barbarians At the Gate - blacks Muslims, brown immigrants socialists communists the “woke” and basically anything they feel is a threat to Real Americans (read white Americans) way of life. They are pure tribal hatred and fear. They think Trump is the only one able to push back against these dark forces. Therefore it doesn’t matter what he does or says because a few affairs some sexual assault, ending democracy etc is nothing compared to the existential threat he’s protecting them from. In fact at this point they want the fascism whether they truly understand what it means or not. For the billionaire class they want their tax cuts and deregulation either through democracy if possible or fascism. Whichever works.
That a twice impeached convicted felon adjudicated rapist serial fraudster lunatic moron could have the support he does confirms that millions of white Americans don’t have the values they profess to. They only care about what their ancestors in the Confederacy and Nazi Germany did - dominating the “others”.

Target headed your way. Keep an eye out.
The text the operative known as Tangerine sent not only his brother, but fellow partner in crime. He huffed out a despondent sigh after having noted the target on the tracker go wandering off into the zone that Lemon was watching, way out of his own reach.
This one was a good one, this job. Gang leader, serial fraudster, and a right fucking ladies man, so they say. Except every lady he shacked up with never seemed to shack the fuck back...
Tangerine had been looking forward to blowing the filthy bastard's brains out, although it now looked as if it'd be his twin who'd have the honours. Oh well. He'd still get paid at the end of the day, at least...
Guess now he had some time to kill.
"Slimy fuckin' git..." he murmured, as he recalled to mind the targets face. Suited, collar length hair, and a fellow Londoner. This hadn't been first time the twins had heard about this dirty bastard's bullshit. He felt quite honoured that they would be the ones to have dealt with him.
Amid his musings, Tangerine moved to light up a cigarette, only to hiss out a few more profanities upon realising the lighter was out of juice.
"Ohh, fuck about-!"
He faltered. There was a figure in the hallway. He was quick to turn on his calmer, more gentlemanly manner.
"Oh. Sorry, darlin'. Didn't see ya' there, luv. ...'Ey, don't suppose ya' got a light on ya', do ya'?"

It's everywhere. Boot up Netflix or scroll through the shows on your favorite podcast app and you'll quickly be inundated with lurid accounts of all manner of violent crimes, from serial killers to cult leaders and career fraudsters. But why? Why do millions of people listen to crime as a bedtime story? What is it about violent killers that captures our imagination so much? Who's listening, who's creating it, and, perhaps most importantly -- what does it say about us that we're so often enraptured by terrible events?
Before you write it off as a sure sign of our generation's moral bankruptcy, let's take a peek through history to discover the true roots of True Crime -- and why it's both older and more complicated than you might think.

The federal indictment against Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., was unsealed Wednesday ahead of his first court appearance on federal charges.
A 13-count indictment was made public Wednesday in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York charging the congressman with seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives.
The indictment was returned Tuesday under seal by a federal grand jury sitting in Central Islip, New York. Santos was arrested Wednesday morning and will be arraigned in the afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Arlene R. Lindsay at the federal courthouse in Central Islip, New York. He currently is being held at that federal courthouse.
"This indictment seeks to hold Santos accountable for various alleged fraudulent schemes and brazen misrepresentations," U.S. Attorney Breon Peace said in a statement. "Taken together, the allegations in the indictment charge Santos with relying on repeated dishonesty and deception to ascend to the halls of Congress and enrich himself. He used political contributions to line his pockets, unlawfully applied for unemployment benefits that should have gone to New Yorkers who had lost their jobs due to the pandemic, and lied to the House of Representatives. My Office and our law enforcement partners will continue to aggressively root out corruption and self-dealing from our community’s public institutions and hold public officials accountable to the constituents who elected them."
‘SERIAL LIAR’ GOP REP'S RE-ELECTION BID SETS SOCIAL MEDIA ABLAZE: ‘FUNNIEST PRIMARIES’
Santos, who also goes by Anthony Devolder, unsuccessfully ran in 2020 to represent New York’s Third Congressional District but was victorious his second time around in 2022. He was sworn in on Jan. 7, 2023, a mere days after the New York Times exposed that Santos allegedly fabricated larges swathes of his resume, including that he had worked for two major Wall Street firms, graduated from Baruch College and had descended from a Holocaust survivor. The Times reported Santos was also facing pending fraud charges in his native Brazil.
In January, the local Nassau County GOP demanded Santos resign, namely taking issue with the freshman congressman lying over his Jewish ancestry, but he refused. And House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, hanging onto a narrow Republican majority, said Santos would be removed if a House Ethics probe revealed he violated campaign finance laws.
"As a retired NYPD Detective, I am confident the justice system will fully reveal Congressman Santos' long history of deceit, and I once again call on this serial fraudster to resign from office," Rep. Anthony D'Esposito, a fellow Republican freshman congressman whose district borders Santos', said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Asked by Fox News Wednesday about Santos' indictment, Rep. Marcus Molinaro, R-N.Y., remarked in the corridors of Capitol Hill, "I can't wait for him to be gone."
Rep. Nick LaLota, R-N.Y., expressed a similar sentiment off camera.
The DOJ indictment alleges that at the height of the pandemic in 2020, Santos applied for and received unemployment benefits while he was earning an annual salary of $120,000 from a Florida investment firm and running for Congress in New York. He alleged received more than $24,000 in unemployment insurance benefits from the New York State Department of Labor.
NY REPUBLICAN REP. GEORGE SANTOS TO RECUSE HIMSELF FROM COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS, SOURCES SAY
His alleged behavior continued during his second run for Congress when he is accused of pocketing tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions and used that money laundered into his own bank accounts to pay down personal debts and buy designer clothing. Santos is also accused of lying on House financial disclosures about income and dividends earned through Devolder Organization LLC, based out of Florida, and unemployment benefits.
House GOP leadership used their weekly press conference Wednesday to blast the Biden administration ahead of the expiration of Title 42 later this week but also responded to questions about Santos. Rep. Steve Scalise, R-L.A., noted that Santos no longer is serving on committees, saying that "in America, there is a presumption of innocence, but there are serious charges, and he’s going to have to go through the legal process."
"But we’re going to continue to work to root out fraud. And there’s lots of it. We’re talking about tens if not hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud in many federal programs," Scalise continued. "We pointed this out. I mean they’re not even checking social security numbers. So you’ve got reports of people even in foreign countries getting taxpayer money for things that should only be available to Americans who are coming on hard times. Not to go to drug cartels or to people who want to just bill the system. And so I hope Democrats will support us in rooting out fraud, but they haven’t shown an interest in it so far."
"As I’ve said from the very beginning on questions on this subject, this legal process is going to play itself out. Unfortunately, this is not the first time a member of Congress from either party has been indicted," Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., said. "There are a set of rules. And as the Majority Leader stated, he voluntarily had stepped down from his committees. We are committed to making sure that we root out any fraud when it comes to unemployment pandemic assistance. And we’re working to have support from our conference. And it’s good policy, and we urge the Democrats to vote in support of it."
Santos' court appearance is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.

Faux News and other MAGA-Moscow-Mouthpieces have contrived a notion that it sets a ‘dangerous precedent’ to prosecute a former President/current candidate for ‘minor misdemeanors’ such as civil and criminal business fraud, violation of the espionage act, rape, election interference, inciting a riot, and, sadly etc etc etc.
They ask, ‘won’t every candidate and ex-President be subject to the same prosecution?’
Well..that’s a BIG NO…for two reasons
UNO
The MAGA Congressional clown car has been actively working on establishing that precedent from when Biden was still a candidate in 2020 up to the present day.
Way ahead of any Trump Grand Jury Indictments.
Their problem with ‘setting precedent’ is that one needs concurrently ‘evidence’, ‘probable cause’ and a whole lot of other ‘woke’ legal phrases that really really aren’t that hard to for the general public to grasp. For MAGA however…
We acknowledge the usefulness that merely posturing with baseless innuendo works to garner approval from the All-American lynch mobs variously called at times MAGA, America First, American Nazi Party, the Black Legion, Night Riders, Regulators, Vigilantes, Know Nothings, KKK.
However, innuendo gets you laughed out of every courtroom and public forum. The attorneys who prepare the pleadings often get censured and sometimes disbarred for ethics violations such as ‘taking clients money for specious cases’ and ‘failure to act appropriately as an officer of the court’.
So, no, we’re not worried about a precedent that can be applied to candidates of any party when there is evidence accusing them of being pedophiles, rapists, fraudsters, seditionists, serial liars, undeclared agents for foreign powers, etc.
In fact, go for it! Particularly any in Congress today.
DOS
Both Nixon and his initial VP, Spiro Agnew, already established the precedent of sitting officials being prosecuted for crimes while in office when there is substantial evidence against them.
Not to forget these prosecutions occurred while we were in both a hot war in Vietnam and the Cold War with the Soviets.
Though the alt-right appears to have whitewashed this history info from their collective memories like it was the most recent Apocalypse/Rapture prediction.
