What I am learning about swords in my desperate attempts to pick apart the weaponry of certain people and organisations;

There is. So. So. So much intricate detailing going on but literally none of it is without purpose.

Obv, there are simple things like specific hilt designs affecting how you can wield your weapon and what you can do with it, but also hilts offering various options to holding your blade but some of them adding more stability while costing you length and techniques that seemingly appear smart but would get you injured and/or dead.

Also leather training swords are a thing and they look kinda dorky but they're still pretty cheap (compared to actual steel) and hurt less than wooden swords so hello nobility you are using leather swords now because I said so, you can afford it and most of you are whiny showoffs.

As well as I'm now considering the options of how likely it would be that certain Banites could come up with bayonets. I mean artificers already have guns so a smith hanging with someone who uses ceremonial daggers adding a pointy tip to a musket... You catch my drift.

Anyway, the main takeaway is I think Bhaalists are the stabby boys, Banites are the slash/cut guys, and Myrkulites would probably use blunt force head trauma and introduce organ transplantation in Faerûn. Probably including a tracking spell cuz the science never ends. Idk what happened and since when I think of Myrkulites this way. Blame Kressa and my rotting best girl Balth.

I must say I am extremely glad I made my escape from high school before ai was really a big deal, and finished college just as it was becoming more prolific, I keep seeing stories about people getting screwed for using complex words in essays and such because the instructor doesn't believe the student actually came up with those words. "...a Javanese manuscript of Serat Panji Jaya Kusuma dated 1805 (MSS Jav 68), which is shown open at a scene (identified by Lydia Kieven) where Sekartaji and her servant (emban) approach the forest filled with animals including an elephant, tiger, banteng, wild boar and two deer. This tale is one of many versions of the adventures of Prince Panji in his search for his beloved Princess Candrakirana. Stories of Prince Panji date back to the 13th century, and mark the beginnings of a truly Javanese literature no longer overshadowed by the great Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. Panji tales are found not only in Java but were also translated into Malay, Balinese, Thai, Lao, Khmer and Burmese."
